out here trying to write new Hazbin smut and getting distracted by the beautiful tragedy that is Chidi and Eleanor from The Good Place 😭😩 if you ever want to watch a phenomenal piece of media about friendship and morals and personal growth it's such a beautiful show, I've only been able to watch it all the way through one time because when I finished it I cried so hard I almost threw up 🤭

Hi 👋 fellow HDM fans who have been interacting with me these past few weeks.

I'm just so glad to find out so many of you guys share the same interests as me.

I've always thought The Good Place is the comedy version of His Dark Materials and Eleanor and Chidi are the adult versions of Lyra and Will.

Look at them! The incredibly serious one and the good lair who can lie her way out of anything. They're literally Will and Lyra as grown-ups.

Then there's Doctor Who, especially Russell T. Davies' run because those seasons were produced by Bad Wolf before it was even founded and Bad Wolf got its name from that.

Also, The Doctor has the Tardis and he takes Rose on time travel adventures while Will has the knife that takes Lyra to the other worlds that she needs to travel to. Parallels, anyone?

Then there's Everlark. I read The Hunger Games Trilogy and His Dark Materials in the same year when I was a teenager. What a year for teenage me! They both made me who I am today. It's been 12 years and I'm still deeply grateful that I read both of them and they helped open up my world. (Not only because the shitty Chinese translations drove me to read the English versions and became a book translator myself, lol.)

In their case, Peeta is the good lair and Katniss is the serious one.

I haven't noticed any fellow fans posting about Netflix's Dark. But it's like a darker and more tragic version of His Dark Materials (Yes, it can get more tragic). The Adam and Eve thing and the parallel worlds thing are just some of the similarities.

Anyway, it's just a pleasure to know that great minds do think alike. 😆 I'd take recommendations from you guys for sure.
