Reincarnation AU but it's not Danny

So! In basically every single Reincarnation AU I've seen, it's always Danny who gets reincarnated as a DC character. Sometimes it's Jazz, other times it's his Friends, but it never really strays from them. And I think we've been ignoring some people...

The Ancients! Danny is always reincarnated as a "Vacation" from his Ghost King Duties, so why not give the same courtesy to the other Ancients?

Specifically, Fright Knight.

Fright Knight has been a loyal servant and Knight of his Master for Millenia. Ever since he first formed as the Autumn Spirit, the Embodiment of Fear, the Fright Knight, he had declared his Servitude to the Ghost King, whomever it may be at the time. And he stayed in that position, through the passing of the Crown, through the Violent Coups, through every single Ghost King who had taken to the mantle. He was their Loyal Knight. Never Wavering. Never leaving their side.

Until Pariah Dark, but that situation was different. No previous King had even tried to take the human world before.

Thankfully, Pariah had only taken the Throne for a mere 5000 years, so he had not had to put up with him for long, and much of that time was with him stuck in his Coffin. That was the first time Fright Knight had ever left his Masters Side.

Then, that insolent Halfa he had met before came into the picture and Fright Knight had a new master.

King Phantom was...different.

Perhaps it was his remaining Humanity poking through? Or was it was the influence of the Human Realm that he still regularly visited? Or maybe he was simply just a Good Person, and there was no deeper meaning behind it?

Either way, Fright Knight noticed that he cared for his subjects in a far deeper manner than any previous king had. He had personal connections with as many Ghosts as he could, and often called the Ghosts he ruled his, Friends. It warmed his Long Frozen Core to see a King valuing his Subjects as much as he did.

He did not realize that the kindness Phantom extended to his people, also extended to himself.

One day, Phantom had been discussing his Human Life with some of his friends. Not his First Life, but his most recent Vacation. Over the Eons since he had taken the Throne, Phantom had been encouraged to take a Vacation every once in a while. It was not healthy for a Ghost to work non-stop like he did, especially for a Halfa.

It was not an uncommon practice in the Realms, many would take a break from the Endlessness of Death to embrace Life once more through Reincarnation. Although, many were too weak to retain their memories upon their second Forming. Mostly, it was Ancients or Kings who would use this as a Vacation, rather than a New Beginning.

There came a break in the conversation, and King Phantom turned his attention to his Knight. "Frighty, when was the last time you Reincarnated? Pandora did so recently, and it got me thinking."

"I have not taken leave of my post for thr Eons since my Forming, My Lord" Replied the Knight with Pride.

"What? You haven't taken a Break since you formed!? Frighty! That's not Healthy!" Exclaimed his King.

This lead to a whole conversation about how unhealthy his lifestyle was, which was another quirk of his Master. He cared for his Sunjects beyond their happiness.

"Fright Knight, as your King and as your Friend, I implore you to take a Vacation. It doesn't have to be forever, just a simple Human Lifespan, but please take a break, for your own Good."

And how could he refuse a request like that? One based in the kindness that his Majesty always showed his Subjects.

It took a few more years to finally iron out the plan for his Vacation, but what are a few years in the face of Eternity?

Finally, it came time to take his leave to the Mortal Realm, and to Life itself.

"Farewell, my Leige." Bowed Fright Knight, "I thank you for this opportunity."

"There's no need to thank me. Now go, and have fun, My Dark Knight."

That day, in Gotham General Hospital, a baby was born.

"What will you name him?" Asked the Doctor.

"I think I'll call him..." Began the need Mother, "...Bruce. Bruce Wayne."

Fright Knight sighs, running a clawed hand through his hair in an attempt to stop the flames from flickering into being. It had been far too long since he had taken a human-ish form. His human-ish form. Ugh. He didn’t exactly care for his human form after so long as a ghost, but needs must he supposed. 

Especially with the whole, we’re going to punch a backdoor into the literal daycare part of the Infinite Realms and be surprised when literal toddlers go exploring. 

Well, at least it got him off of guard duty for a bit, which was relieving. Not that he didn’t love the darkness, but it got boring in the shadow of his sword for literal centuries with nothing else happening. He was a warrior for Realm’s sake! Borderline an Ancient in both power and age! He wasn’t meant to stay so still for so long. 

So while ghostling wrangling wasn’t exactly in his area of expertise, he could definitely gather them back up to the Realms. And deal with the curs who had decided to attack literal babies. 

The Daycare area was already understaffed due to just how large it was, and the one in charge of this section had practically sobbed to the Council (In another world they would have been put on hold for a century in line for their concerns, and then more once a Sarcophagus was opened, but they had told the other ghosts in distress, causing others to let them go up in said line) how they were almost certain they had felt at least one core form Outside the realms thanks to the breach. 

Which had understandably put everyone at an uproar. 

So here he was slipping between shadows to do reconnaissance and take stock of if any Ghostlings had left the city. And gently scruffing those he comes across in exasperation because what are you doing, ghostling? Look at the mess, what would your caretaker say?

Random DC/DP headcannons bc I can't sleep

Expect many typos

Danny hates storms, especially thunderstorms bc of the lighting cracking in the sky

Danny wears a power cuff like a bracelet that dampens his more violent powers bc he's scared of them (wail, large-scale ice like with undergrowth etc)

In one of his magazines, instead of bullets Jason keeps solid ectoplasm just in case, and so it's not conspicous

In his Phantom form Danny has a streak of black hair where his white usually is

Jason is fright knight (unless it's a Jason-Danny biologically related fic. Ghost Zone law says no one you share blood with (clones included) can become fright knight (but they can join the court and have other ranks))

Danny made a contingency plan against himself and with the help of a sibling (Cass most likely, though she did seem a bit sad) got it on the bat-computer. Password protected so Danny can't get into it. Bruce doesn't know and won't know until/if Danny goes bad. Bruce made a separate one for him.

Tim gets low and non-harmfil doses of ectoplasm in his coffee bc it is like a shit ton of caffeine for a living person. (Yes, some Amity Park drinks have ectoplasm in them too)

Danny asks Bruce, Tim and Lucius for help with Ghost King Shit TM

Duke has to squint when looking directly at ectoplasm (Danny's trying to find some solution but there isn't one)

Jason has a shadow core

Damian got extinct animals from Danny as a birthday gift multiple times (a dodo bird named Delilah, a messenger pigeon names Luke and a splendid posion frog named Ares)

To piss Bruce off, Jason got a pterodactyl he's named Flynn that he takes on patrol. Safe to safe, people get a hella more scared of Red Hood. Bruce hates it but Jason does actually love Flynn and Bruce can't bring himself to take Flynn awya

Danny made a patrol playlist for every member of the bat family and beyond bc he has one for when he goes out as Phantom (they all listen to their playlists and love them)

Before Danny was fully pulled into the family, he'd flinch at Dick's escrima sticks and still catches himself staring the weapon, his heart pounding

Danny found out Captain Marvel was a kid bc while on a mission with him, Captain Marvel pointed out that there was a pirate ship hovering above them and that Danny should probably deal with that. He'd, and any other Amity Parker that overhead, never laughed so badly in his entire life. Billy was never so scared & confused.

Bart and Danny are friends bc Dan had leveled most of the future before the Beatles took over what was left (I'm actually not that sure about Bart's backstory so feel free to correct me if something's wrong here)

Cass and Danny have staring contests alot. Sometimes the others think they've fallen asleep with their eyes open. They didn't.

Danny had a Twitter account for Phantom without Bruce knowing, but when Steph was trying to convince Bruce to let her have one she mentioned it and Danny had to delete it (he has an alt he now posts every embarrassing thing Batman does and has ever done)

Puns. So many puns between Dick & Danny.

Crows flock to Danny like hungry tigers. Damian's envious but he gets to pet & feed them so it's mostly okay.

GW likes Jason and let's him borrow books whenever he wants to (also any destroyed book ends up with GW but that's a pretty common hc) but Jason has to swear not to give them to Danny. Not that Danny wants them.

Duke is helping Tucker out with studies and Tucker Duke with tech. Technus sometimes shows up too to help.

Johnny and Jason are dEAD bffs

Sam and Babs get on like a house on fire

Talia met Danny and they're actually friendly to each other. Sure, she's trying to trick Danny into giving her his throne, but Danny knew that and wasn't about to let that happen

Danny will randomly punch his siblings, smirk, then bow and say "my leige" and run away. The sibling now has the crown and is chasing to punch Danny back because honestly fuck that

Constantine is slightly terrified of Danny and Bruce uses it like a threat-- "John, if you don't answer, Danny will contact you." It works like a charm

When too excited, Danny and Jason will start talking in Ghost speech. It freaks everyone else but Damian and Cass out bc the same sounds came from the pits

Part 8 The beginning of the storm

Ellie was asleep on clockworks lap, covered in bandages. There was not much for them to do but hurry up and wait until they were needed. Frostbite was watching the three different groups Clockwork had pulled up on his portable viewing Mirrors. The yetis face was a cross between anger at the GIW and joy that his friend Lazarus had returned. Lazarus had been a good friend they had grown up together with Undergrowth, Vortex, Nocturne,Clockwork, and Morrigan. The 7 of them had rained holy terror on the Realms growing up. To young, to powerful and to board they explored the infinite realms making Friends, enemies and new Discoveries along the way. They Learned and made mistakes but they were all together. Through thick and thin they remained good friends and grew into their powers, gained mantles and responsibility.

Things were Bright and Joyful Lazarus had done the impossible and United the Realms into one kingdom, Clockwork had taken the mantle of time keeper, Nocturne became the Guardian or Dreams, Vortex was the Crazy Trouble maker of the group was learning to control the weather. Undergrowth was working to grow things for the Green, Frostbite had taken over the far Frozen from his father and Morrigan, sweet little Morrigan who could get the six most stubborn people in the universe to behave had become a goddess of Death and had Married Lazarus.

They had kept in touch giving each other advice and helping one another everyone in the realm had been happy to learn Morrigan had become pregnant with twins. Haroldas Fright knight and Lady Pala Gotham had been born with much fanfare and were little Terrors gowning up but the birth had not been and easy one and Inanna had never quite been the same after their birth. She fought so hard but by the time the Twins were in their teens Morrigan had started to fade, and so came to pass the first Phantom Queen of the Infinite Realms. Morrigan Stayed but it was a near thing he was finally starting to heal when Dark Parish had started to rise to power. His obsession was power he had created a ring that amplified his anger and started to take over the kingdom territories at an alarming rate. Finally he attacked Lazarus and would have killed him if Clockwork hadn't intervened.

Clockwork grinned, it was not a nice or happy grin. He showed to many teeth and it stretched in a way that would make anything living want to run. It was a feral your going down with me grin. Frostbite saw it out of the corner of his and and responded in a Matching grin their group of friends were no longer as close together with their tethers (Morrigan and Lazarus) gone but some things don't change. Frostbite looked at his old Friend and his almost Grand Nieces. "I recognize that grins Gears what do you see?"

"My Sister Morrigan is Returning and Danny is my Son I gave him my ectoplasam when he turned into a true Halfa. Ellie is coming into her powers as a Goddess of Life, Travel, and a Guardian or Mirror Born's Danny is the Balance and space. Death is needed and she is not Happy about what has happened to her younger co Gods and Nibling."

Frostbite gave a harsh laugh "They are in for it now maybe she can straiten out Vortex and Undergrowth?"

"Before or after she finds out what they did and kills them?

Both looked back at the screens and watches Lady Gotham Preen like a happy cat at Alfred taking care of her. "Should I be worried?" asked Frostbite.

"No he is a good man and he will treat her well when he becomes a Ghost."

Frostbite blinks in surprise and a little worried "he becomes a Ghost?"

"yes one of the few who will become on no mater how he dies he is going to be a ghost he will have a duel Time and shadow core."

"A TIME CORE! but your the only know time core in the last 20,000 years"

"Yes he will help me watch the time lines with hero's he will be family after all and he will be instrumental in helping Phantom recover."

"How?"

"Alfred is going to be powerful he is already getting echos form his future powers. There is a reason nobody wants to mess with Alfred."

Frostbite decided he didn't want to know and turned his attention to a different Mirror. "Do you think that Pandora and Fright will Finally get together Gears?"

Clockwork gowned and facepalmed "Not without outside interference, I am so close to putting them in a an time loop until they get their act together. For two of our top tacticians they are not very emotion smart and they are Born ghost."

"Its only been a thousand years" Frostbite teased.

"They are more emotionally constipated than Batman without therapy." Clockwork flinched all teasing wiped from his face. "They have started to experiment on Danny I am blocking part of the bond to Ellie."

Frostbite became serious again "I know you can't tell me about what is to come but if I list off some equipment can you tell me if I don't need it?"

"Go for it Little Bite"

I hc most ghosts don’t feel the need to have kids (or "carnal intercourse"), more interest by their obsessions, so ghost babies and core eggs are rare. Ghost don’t reproduce like humans but do a sort of ritual with their hands joined to create a core cocoon where their offsprings bloom from after several weeks/months/years (depend of the egg). Shapes, patterns, textures and hardness of eggs vary, but the most common form is pure acid green sighlty squishy. Some colors are not easy/impossible to find in the Ghost Zone, and if the egg is especially pretty it’s making it vulnerable to thiefs and hunters, either for selling either for eating (aka ghosthunger and scrambled gheggs asdfghjkl). Having twins coming from a single core egg is even more rare. Luckily for future Bearwch and Ioana, they are well protected by their parents and their friends.

Ghosts Babies are as weak as Blob Ghosts and a bit smaller than human babies, they grow faster too

Not everybody is good with kids, and Ioana doesn’t care about the freshly crowned king’s feelings, at all

Unlike the monarch, Fright Knight’s best friend is surprising good

Dora tried to see if throwing her kids on her brother might make him less grumpy it works a bit

Teens

Iona is a bit of a tomboy and assertive, but also a bit agressive and pushy, borderline bullying sometimes, especially toward her little brother (even if she cares about him a lot). Iona is also very intelligent, strong and mature; she learnt to use a sword and a bow at a very young age, and created arrows with her core. Though able to used both she preferred to perfect her skill with the bow. She can also use both her forms & powers to perfection. Even if Iona has excellent capabilities and natural talents, she hide some insecurities and still works a lot to hope one day be deserving of the Dragon Kingdom’s throne.

Bearwch is a shy nerdy boy, he has some difficulties expressing his needs/wishes and is ashamed of his appearance. He is also very smart and courageous, he probably has more habilities than his “big” sister, but his lack of confidence make him lose control over situations. When he is shy, scared or angry his green eyes fade, so it’s very easy to read him. Bearwch prefers to use his sword and close combat, maybe as a way to prove & differentiate himself and not live in his sister’s shadow.

Bearwch, despite his skull, is more expressive and a little bubble of sunshine, making friends easily, unlike his sister Iona whose face is more emotionless and cold despite being made of “flesh”.

What Was Bound, What Was Loosed Chapter 3

Written for Dannymay Day 6: Core.

Ellie took to spending her days in the palace library.

Danny thought he was trapped. Believed he was trapped. So did everyone else. But Ellie didn’t believe it. All cages had keys. Danny had opened hers. It was only right that she return the favor.

(Of course, she wasn’t happy about being stuck herself. There were still things she wanted to see on Earth. She missed the stars.)

The books were old and new. Some were in English, others were in languages she couldn’t even begin to recognize. Most of them had nothing to do with what she was looking for. Like in any library, they were on a wide variety of subjects, all spread out.

Still, she searched. The stack of tomes that had to do with ghostly kingship and the laws of the Infinite Realms grew progressively larger. Occasionally, one of the shades would attempt to put the books back, but they were easily dissuaded, having no will of their own.

She was making progress. Not a lot, but some. Enough to keep her going.

Vlad knew when to quit.

Oh, maybe it didn’t seem like it, he was easily as obsessive as any ghost, but he did. Sometimes, a plan just wasn’t feasible, and he had to cut his losses.

Cutting his losses, in this case, meant getting incredibly drunk on ghost wine. Fright Knight didn’t approve, but who cared what he thought? Fright Knight was part of the reason he was in this situation in the first place!

If he had just been warned this would happen, he’d have been able to make arrangements, to find some way to keep his portal open, or to stay in the human world, where his life was.

But no. They were all trapped here. No way out.

When hundreds of ghosts all said the same thing, Vlad was inclined to believe them. Danielle, as motivated as she was, was simply experiencing denial. Or, perhaps, bargaining. He had to admit he was never exactly clear on the stages of grief.

Then, there was Daniel, who seemed to be firmly trapped in the ‘depression’ stage, more of a ghost than Vlad had ever seen him as. He lingered in corners, at the edge of Vlad’s vision, quiet, sad, always flanked by Fright Knight and that other ghost, the one with the clocks.

There were parts of him, his Obsession reasserting itself, that yearned to reach out to Danny, but… He didn’t even know how to begin.

Danny felt like a pale, wandering shadow of himself.

Most of the time, he slept, exhausted by the demands the Zone made on him and the continuing changes he was undergoing. The expanding circle of vitality, of rejuvenation, of reconstruction and growth, that so many ghosts were celebrating had to draw energy from somewhere, after all, and even though Danny was absorbing just as much as he was expending, that process made him drowsy in and of itself.

Pain, too, plagued him. His missing eye ached, and sometimes it seemed as if the crown was burrowing into his skull, not merely resting on it. His hand hurt from all his attempts to take off the ring.

He could hardly care for himself in even the most basic of ways. Clockwork often had to remind him, or help him, and he was always so excruciatingly gentle.

Then Vlad and Ellie came.

Their arrival was a relief. Ellie was a friend, was family, and hadn’t been complicit in his betrayal and binding. Vlad had been an enemy, and not even an honest one at that, but essentially everything they’d been at odds over was moot, but he was familiar.

Despite the relief, despite his desire to connect with people who hadn’t hurt him, at least not as badly as everyone else, he hung back. He didn’t know what to do, didn’t know how to bridge the gap.

So, he lurked and lingered. When Ellie went to the library, when Vlad moped and bothered the shades that ordered the kitchen, he followed, he watched.

Clockwork and Fright Knight, of course, followed and watched him in turn.

At least, this is what happened when he was awake and aware enough to do anything. Danny was under the impression that being awake and independently mobile at all this soon after being… coronated… was unusual, perhaps even unnerving. Normally, he’d be curious, excited about new abilities and what they might mean. Maybe he’d even throw around a quip or two about how awesome he was but…

It wasn’t the time, and he didn’t have the willpower to reach for even that dubious coping mechanism.

In the too-numerous times when Danny was both awake and not well enough to follow Ellie and Vlad around, he liked to sit in the garden. It was almost peaceful there, by the fountain, although the plants had a distressing tendency to reflect his every change in mood.

Today was one of those days. He was too dizzy and lightheaded to drift after Vlad or Ellie, even if neither of them moved very much, but he didn’t want to stay in the bedroom, or, worse, the throne room. His core seemed to pulse, sluggish and painful in his chest. Or perhaps that was his heart. He couldn’t really tell with this mixed-up form. It could even be both.

Another slow wave of transformation swept out from him, making his extremities tingle. He watched, tiredly, as it briefly interacted with the walls of the palace and the scattered shades before moving on. The shades… another aspect of all this that Danny wasn’t comfortable with, but couldn’t bring himself to learn more about. They were sustained through his power, but what were they? Extensions of his will? Aspects of his personality? Constructs generated by the palace? By the Ghost Zone itself? He didn’t know.

As much as he should try to learn, he couldn’t help but think of them as yet another imposition, another burden he was being forced to bear.

This wasn’t a healthy mindset. Jazz would tell him as much. Jazz wasn’t here.

“Danny!”

He looked up, his one eye already searching for Ellie. Fright Knight stepped forward, as if to protect him, but Danny snarled at him, annoyed. He wasn’t going to let him get in between him and one of the few people he could currently stand. Clockwork stayed back, passive, but he looked… worried. Uneasy. As if anticipating a disaster.

“Danny!” exclaimed Ellie again, bursting from a bush, a thick book raised above her head. “I found it!”

“Found what?” asked Danny, leaning forward slightly as Ellie joined him sitting on the edge of the fountain.

“A way out!” She opened the book and started flipping through it, obviously looking for a specific entry.

Both Clockwork and Fright Knight looked extremely tense, now. They probably didn’t want him to find this, didn’t want him to leave. Would they try to stop him?

He hunched his shoulders. He might not be well, but he could fight and make it hurt.

“Here!” said Ellie, triumphantly. “Look at this.” She tapped a picture of a bright, spherical object.

“The core of the Infinite Realms?” asked Danny, reading the legend of the picture.

“Uh huh. Apparently, it’s what determines what the Ghost Zone is like as a whole and controls the rules and laws and stuff. Like, even when it comes to what ghosts act like, and what they can physically do, or how the Ghost Zone’s physics behave. But the important part is that you can go talk to it and petition it and stuff, and sometimes it’ll listen. I bet we can get it to listen to you and make it so that the Ghost Zone doesn’t need a king anymore.”

Danny felt a flutter of hope. The book was old from what he could see, and, ignoring Ellie’s paraphrasing, the language was fantastical and couched in metaphor, but still if there was a possibility…

Near their feet, small, bright flowers began to bloom, each no larger than the head of a pin.

“Daniel,” said Clockwork, in a careful, soft tone. It wasn’t pity, not quite, but it was the verbal equivalent of being handled with kid gloves. “It doesn’t work like that.”

“Then what is it like?” asked Danny, hunching his shoulders and leaning protectively over Ellie.

“What do you think the King of the Infinite Realms is?” asked Clockwork.

Danny shrugged. Clockwork gave him a small, pained smile.

“The King of Ghosts and the core of the Ghost Zone,” said Clockwork, “they’re the same.”

Danny shook his head, unwilling to let this scrap of hope slip through his fingers so easily.

“Please, Daniel,” said Clockwork. “Why do you think it was so vital that you be crowned? The Realms cannot exist without their core.”

It made sense. A horrible, horrible sense.

“That doesn’t make sense,” said Ellie. “The core’s supposed to be the basis the whole Zone is built on. That can’t just be one person.”

“The library has some books on the subject,” said Clockwork. “But you can see how Daniel is changing things.”

Danny felt his hope collapse and doubled over, hands on his head, face almost touching his legs. A scream bubbled up in his throat, but he swallowed it. All those people, everywhere, his responsibility, his… Not just the people, everything. Everywhere. Not just his responsibility, but relying on him, modeled on him, dependent on him, centered on him.

He wasn’t just the Ghost Zone’s ruler, nominal or not, he was its heart.

“Danny?” asked Ellie. He looked up.

There were blast lines in the ground, radiating away from him. The fountain was cracked and leaking water. Fright Knight had, evidently, grabbed Ellie and leaped away, into the air.

Clockwork hadn’t left, still leaning towards Danny. There was a jagged, dripping slice across his shoulder. Danny gasped, reaching towards him.

“It’s alright,” said Clockwork. “It’s alright.”

“I can’t be,” said Danny. “I can’t be. I’m—I can’t be part of the Ghost Zone. Not—Not like that. That’s not—I can’t be what the Ghost Zone is built on, it doesn’t make sense, I…”

“It’s alright,” repeated Clockwork. “Would you like to go inside? You may feel better if you eat something.”

“Don’t want to bother Vlad,” mumbled Danny. Didn’t want another person to see him crumbling like this.

“We can send something up to your room,” said Clockwork.

He did feel tired. The fountain was repairing itself behind and underneath him. He groaned as the ground beneath him pulled together as well.

“I don’t want to be the core of the Ghost Zone,” he said, knowing that what he wanted was not and never had been a consideration. “I don’t want to be king. I don’t want to be in charge of anything.” He grabbed the edges of Clockwork’s robe, ignoring the moisture despite the pang of guilt it brought him. “I want to go home. And I…” His words failed as he reached for Clockwork’s injury. “I don’t want to do this.”

“This is nothing, Daniel,” putting a gloved hand over the wound. “I have had far worse.”

It started to rain. Great, heavy droplets of water tainted with just enough ectoplasm to glow.

It was one way to hide tears, he supposed.

Some Danny Phantom Headcanons of mine

That I may or may not use in future fanfictions.

During his time as a human on earth, Walker founded the Guys in White as a means of "efficiently" dealing with ghosts. Walker would die during a prison riot in the year 1916. He never got a chance to meet his grandkids or grand nieces.

Ghosts that had lives on Earth, hold very little recollection of their time. The vague memories build most of their personalities, influencing their powers, ghost cores, planes in the Ghost Zone, etc. It's unknown (or is it!? ;)) what exactly happens to ghosts that gain all their lost memories, but most don't desire to learn them.

The strongest power a ghost can have is reflective of how they died. This is known as "Ghost Core Breaking". Hence why Danny's strongest ghost power is the Ghostly Wail. He was screaming while inside the Ghost Portal. It's also why he passes out when using it sometimes.

The first known ghost portal was invented during WW2. The research was lost and most files were destroyed. Until some were found again one day by Jack Fenton.

Ghost hunting technology increased during WW2. With a project labeled "Sojurn's Tempest" being only known to a select few individuals.

Sam and Tucker had only a 70/30 chance of dying versus becoming half ghosts of they were in Danny's place. Danny on the other hand, had only no chance if dying fully in the Ghost Portal. A fact that carries over to Vlad Masters. And Jack Fenton in an alternate timeline. Neither are aware of the fact yet.

Ghost hunting technology has been around since the 1880s. More mystical and magical practices have been around since early civilizations.

Casper High has actually a very low mortality rate.

Other halfas have been around throughout human history. Some due to the natural Ghost Portals, some due to other reasons.

Why do natural ghosts coexist with ghosts that had lives on Earth? The Ghost Zone is the remains a dead universe. For example, Time itself "died" and Clockwork came into existence.

Johnny 13 and Kitty both died during the 1950s while on a ride on Johnny's motorcycle. Shadow is a natural ghost. Who may or may not be responsible.

Freakshow did in fact know Lydia during her human life and shared a romantic relationship with her.

Jazz doesn't believe any of Danny's adventures with the Nicktoons for a second.

Maddie has a couple of cousins, but they are in very little contact with each other.

Nicholai Technus had a Tech company during his life on Earth. His grandkid has some interest in reopening up the company.

Ember not her real name, just a theme for one of her songs and Mr. Lancer did in fact go to Casper High together. They weren't exactly "friends" but he was nice to her. He feels some guilt over her not finishing High School and being largely ignored by teachers. Influencing his position as a better teacher than the ones they had.

Danny has yet to "summon" his place in the Ghost Zone, due to not coming to grips with who he is yet.

Dani has been on some adventures of her own around the world. She's decided to change her name after realizing she needs an identity outside of Danny. She's even befriended Youngblood.

The Ecto Black Holes are to blame for all the natural Ghost Portals, due to their destructive nature.

Sojurn and Clockwork are friends.

The Unworld is inhabited by ghosts that slowly fade into nothing more than words and thoughts. Once completed faded, the ghosts reincarnate.

The Elsewhereness is immediately reached by people that have no ties or anything holding them back when they die.

Lunch Lady did in fact work at Casper High during her human years.

Jazz would've been a halfa if she was in Danny's position.

Box Ghost's death was being crushed under a bunch of boxes. During his time as a human, he was trying to find someone in a box.

In terms of halfas being able to produce children, there's a high chance they would die. They already use enough energy to stabilize their bodies.

Or maybe halfas can choose to pass on their ghost half or not. It's very up in the air.

Poindexter's parents did sue Casper High when he died. The high school is not the most popular in America.

Sam's parents might not be hers.

If Danny were to get his own realm in the Ghost Zone, it would be a floating city surrounded by moon sized planetoids. Each Planetoid would house something something relating to Danny on a personal level.

The Ghost of Space is intrigued by Danny, but tells Clockwork repeatedly that he has yet to be fully impressed by the Ghost Boy. A meeting in the future?

Yes, Danny has powers relating to space. He has yet to awaken them yet, as his status as a halfa never made him think if he had two ghost cores.

There used to be multiple Ghost Kings and Queens, but Pariah Dark made sure to dispose of them.

The Fright Knight used to be in charge of transporting souls to the Ghost Zone, but he has since left that duty.

Valerie's mom is a very... tough subject. Mostly cause Valerie isn't aware she faked her death.

Skulker was a ghost hunter in his youth during his human life.

Youngblood during his human life, grew up in an orphanage watching other kids play and get adopted. Pretending to be a pirate to take his mind off of things. Fueling his resentment and obsession as a ghost.

Danny is obsessed with saving and helping people. He's not aware of it yet.

Ghostwriter died choking on a Christmas sugar cookie, just before he got a chance to finish his masterpiece.

Vlad's obsession is perfection and ruling over everyone with an iron fist.

If Danny were to ever get weapons, they would definitely be knives (or some variant) as he is more of a close range brawler.

Magic definitely exists in the DPverse.

Danny's ghost half is purely ectoplasm from the Ghost Zone. Not from another ghost. Little does he know, he's giving it a bit more sentience each and every day.

Or maybe he's secretly related to another ghost we have yet to meet. Maybe the Ghost Zone is secret sentient? Who knows?

First, for the sake of my sanity I’ll be limiting this to things shown or said on the show. Widely accepted fanon and wiki knowledge unfortunately do not count, and as usual Butch gets no say.

Thelem-Ra and the Princesses of Power

Due to strictly enforced gender norms, I wasn’t allowed to be obsessed with the original She-Ra cartoon. I could play with a friend’s sister’s She-Ra toy, but I never dared ask for my own. 

That’s partly why Netflix’s remake She-Ra and the Princesses of Power means so much to me. Not only is it a version I can can openly discover and geek out over, but the characters’ wide range of age, gender expression and body type makes the fantasy realm of Etheria into a playground for the imagination -- one makes fans like me feel specifically included, even if it’s mainly aiming to entertain kids. 

Any storytelling that draws from mystical currents will end up echoing familiar tropes and ideas from our own world. Attempts to portray existing magickal practices accurately almost always disappoint, as they did in Netflix’s other “princess of power” story, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (which is really entertaining nevertheless). 

Isn’t it funny how the stories which offer up a wealth of artistic inspiration for magic often prove more durable than those depicting “real-life” magic use? The more abstract the characters’ powers are, the more possibilities we see in exploring them ourselves, and the more permission we feel to make something truly our own.

In the new She-Ra’s case (and in similar shows, like Steven Universe), magic is married to technology in a way that kids watching today will intrinsically understand, aligning neatly with post-modern chaos magick traditions. 

In terms of old-school stuff, the Princesses’ magic is elemental in nature -- an expression of the soul of their homeworld, and a tool for regulating planetary harmony. The show departs from the classical elements of Earth, Air, Fire, Water, etc., which is fine, because their planet is not our planet, and its properties are still being revealed... to the characters, as well as to us. 

But let’s not overlook that the very idea of “Princesses of Power” is old-school, and has a deep footprint in the history of tarot -- particularly the one crafted by the Dark Lord himself, Aleister Crowley.

Before Crowley’s Thoth deck, the tarot’s court cards historically consisted of King, Queen, Knight, and Page -- a total sausage-fest, though Pamela Colman Smith brought out a wonderful androgyny in her illustration of the Pages (and in many of her deck’s other figures), which seems to even out the gender spectrum a bit, and is partly why the deck remains appealing to new users over a century later.

Conceived in the 1930s, Crowley’s court consists of a Knight, a Queen, a Prince, and a Princess. This “modern” twist must have seemed terribly progressive at the time, dethroning the King and elevating the court’s lowest ranking member (a page is just a humble servant of the royal court), consecrating that role as female.

You could write an entire book about the gender problems in Thelema (the religion founded by Crowley, which remains popular today). In fact, that book probably exists already, and contemporary Thelemites are continually exploring and re-examining the way our evolving social and scientific views of gender mesh with their religion’s core beliefs. 

For now, all that’s important is that Crowley took a humble servant and elevated her to a PRINCESS OF POWER. 

The four roles in the tarot’s court each correspond to a different classical element, the Page/Princess’s being Earth. And each of these four earthy figures is herself an expression of the classical elements: Fire of Earth (Wands), Water of Earth (Cups), Air of Earth (Swords), and Earth of Earth (Pentacles, or in Crowley’s case, Disks).

Exploring these cards in an earlier lesson, I wrote:

“The Page’s defining quality is not sex but immaturity, a word which inspires unnecessarily negative associations. Let’s not forget the raw potential we find in the young and/or untested, or the curiosity and vivacity they may bring to their work.  As such, each of the four Pages represents a latent untamed force for change.”

What I love about Lady Frieda Harris’s illustrations in the Thoth deck is that the Princesses are all portrayed as doing something. These images could be pulled from the opening credits of She-Ra. 

Think about that: she drew them as superheroes. The 1930s were the period when these kinds of heroes began to proliferate in comics, and Superman himself debuted in 1938 -- the same year Crowley and Harris began working on the Thoth deck. 

Like She-Ra’s heroines, our tarot Princesses owe all their strength (as well as their weakness) to their signature elements, though in Crowley’s world there is a clear elemental hierarchy, due to spiritual ideas imparted by Western esotericism. As such, the Princess of Disks (Earth of Earth) sits at the bottom of the totem pole. 

This kind of hierarchical thinking (and binary gender) is exactly what drives many people away from traditional forms of magick. I sympathize, and agree that we should never stop challenging these ideas. 

However, what really we see in the Thoth deck is a setup for an archetypal story in which the low are made high; in which Princesses serve as the catalyst for changes that transform reality itself. 

Just like Ace -- the lowest number in the minor arcana, but a symbol of tremendous power -- the Princess represents a place to build upward and outward from. Though she mirrors the queen in her gender, it’s the King/Knight she reflects in her agency and authority.

“The Princess is the throne of her Ace,” observes Thelemic teacher and author Lon Milo Duquette. In his book The Chicken Qabalah, he writes at length about the importance of Princesses: “They are positioned at the lowest end of our elemental universe, but they also embody the foundation of our universe.”

Awakening and exploring our Princess nature will gradually help us “escape the prison of matter” and “live in the bliss of the highest world.”

He even presents a diagram that shows how you can use the Princess and Ace-through-Ten cards to divide up the globe -- a handy tool for readings involving a geographical component.

In the Netflix show, Adora is offered a very similar view of her world by First-Ones avatar Light Hope, who reveals how the Princesses -- each an expression of their respective element -- are all interconnected as regulators of Etheria’s holistic balance. 

Of course, this is just an abstract diagram of Etheria’s actual geography. Entrapta’s model in the same scene shows that these centers of power are just as unevenly dispersed on Etheria as they are on our own planet.

Duquette’s book offers a qabalistic Creation myth based on these feudal archetypes, which may explain why royal figures still play such a prominent role in our storytelling. 

“The you that you think is you is not you,” he explains. “It is a dream you. In fact, the you that you think is you is a dreamer inside a dreamer inside a dreamer inside a dreamer. You are the King of the universe, who has fallen asleep and is dreaming he is the Queen, who has fallen asleep and is dreaming she is the Prince, who has fallen asleep and is dreaming he is a sleeping princess.”

In Duquette’s fairytale of Creation, the Prince and Princess are twins birthed by the Queen -- different in sex, but alike in power. HELLO PEOPLE, this is the exact premise of the original She-Ra cartoon. 

Within the new show, we see the struggle of a world straining to evolve in two opposing directions. 

The Fright Zone is a technocratic military junta which only managed to come into power via political exploitation, capturing the Black Garnet runestone from the family of Scorpia, Etheria’s last “slumbering” princess. 

One could compare the Fright Zone’s hierarchy to that of the classic Rider-Waite-Smith court cards, in which Hordak serves as King, Shadow Weaver as Lord, Force Captains are Knights, and all the the various wanna-be’s (including Adora and Catra in the first episode), servants, robots, and various scavengers remain in the Peasant class.

It’s not clear yet how the rest of Etheria is governed. It bucks this traditional structure, resulting in a lumpy sort of meritocracy in which those with the most magical power wield the most influence, but rulers are mainly tasked with maintaining harmony and protecting their subjects against external invasion. There’s evidence of a soldier class, but the “lowest” citizens we encounter are shown existing peacefully in (apparently) self-governing tribal cultures. They don’t serve the Princesses, they simply enjoy the freedom afforded to them by the Princesses’ rule. People live for love, for pleasure, for adventure, and/or the pursuit of intellectual aims. 

(The only exception seems to be Entrapta, the Silicon Valley tech-bro stand-in who presides over her own servant class of attendants and robots. And it’s worth mentioning that she’s also the only Princess whose power isn’t anchored to an elemental source.)

In this sense, Etheria is an impressive embodiment of Thoth deck court structure, populated by Queens, industrious “princes” like Bow and SeaHawk, and true Princesses -- “Every man and every woman is a star,” with plenty of room to accommodate those who present neither as fully male or female, those with magical powers and those without.

But if you’ve already read this far, let’s take this one step even further and look at how SHE-RA IS ALSO A KNIGHT. 

That’s right, you heard me: everything that Adora symbolizes as Princess, She-Ra articulates as a Knight. She even gets a horse! And a sword, and a shield! Note that Adora hasn’t really changed: she was a Knight in Hordak’s world also. She has simply relocated from one symbolic reality to another -- a more Thelemic one, in which Knights are kings. Thus, as She-Ra, she becomes Hordak’s symbolic equal. 

And note that Noelle Stevenson’s re-imagining of the series is entitled “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power,” as opposed to the original title “She-Ra: Princess of Power.” She is of their ilk, but different. As Perfuma might say: “She is the She-Ra.”

Symbolically, Adora contains all the elemental potential of a Princess who must still evolve and struggle to awaken. She-Ra, however, is the elemental Fire that awaits on the other side -- the King who dreams he is a Queen, who dreams she is a Prince, who dreams he is a Princess. We know from Light Hope that She-Ra’s lineage extends thousands of years. She is not a person, she’s a function -- and that function is to protect Etheria by transforming reality. 

In other words: Adora’s glorious transformation into She-Ra is a microcosm of Etheria’s transformation, which She-Ra herself was created to oversee. 

In this way, the series bears the greatest resemblance to Alan Moore’s tremendous graphic novel Promethea, which tells the story of an ordinary young woman named Sophie who discovers she’s the latest incarnation of a mythical “science heroine” -- who may or may not have been created to usher in the Apocalypse. And she is guided in this process by other Prometheas, who represent an interesting range of ethnicities, body types, and genders. 

Sophie’s exploration of her own newfound identity sends her on an odyssey that matches many beats in Adora’s. What are the limits of her new powers? How can she learn to transform at will? What dangers will this confer on her loved ones? Which parts of her belong to Sophie, and which to Promethea?

These are classic superhero problems, but Sophie’s quest is one that’s specifically designed to transform the reader as well: Moore has crafted a story that also serves as a primer for modern occult traditions, including tarot cards. 

While Moore looks beyond Thelema, the works of Aleister Crowley remain a key influence -- the horny old magician even appears as a recurring character, in a handful of cheeky cameo roles.

Like She-Ra, Promethea points to the golden thread of continuity linking the individual and the divine. That’s a birthright that even the humblest, most overlooked person shares with the rest of humanity, but our world’s prevailing powers do everything they can to conceal that truth. Our own senses play tricks on us as well, supporting a view of the world in which we remain small and powerless, in which our lives, our suffering, our deaths, mean nothing.

The artists mentioned in this post -- Smith, Crowley, Duquette, Harris, Moore, Stevenson -- might not agree on everything, but they share the same quest: to awaken all these slumbering princesses. That includes you, dear reader. Wake up, your kingdom needs you!

Our language has another word for this sacred process: animation. 

This is why you shouldn’t feel silly enjoying She-Ra or any other fantasy, at any age. This is why little girls shouldn’t be discouraged from play-acting as princesses (and neither should little boys). Society can only stand to improve from humans exploring their Princess powers. Many of these magical abilities will prove to be connected to life-saving (perhaps even civilization-saving) advantages further down the road. Magic is real, and we all stand to benefit from it.

“The clothes you're wearing, the room, the house, the city that you're in. Everything in it started out in the human imagination,” Moore writes in Promethea. “Your lives, your personalities, your whole world. All invented. All made up. All the wars, the romances. The masterpieces and the machines. And there's nothing here but a funny little twist of amino acids, playing a marvelous game of pretend.”

i have........ some nitpicky issues about putting it on this list, because neither movie adaptation really did justice to the whole concept of “derry itself is an extension of an eldritch horror and the real scary part of the story isn’t the clown, it’s the horrible violent tragedies that have repeatedly occurred and then been dismissed throughout derry’s history, leaving the entire town in a large-scale sort of cycle of abuse” so ????????????? idk like i truly do recommend reading the book as well as seeing the movies for The Whole It Experience(TM), but i totally get that not everyone is gonna do that

the 1990 version tells more or less the complete story, but because of that it didn’t have time to include a lot of fun details

the 2017 version only tells the childhood portion of the story, which leaves it time to include fun details. i was really hoping to see more of derry’s backstory or more development on mike and stan as members of marginalized groups -> how that influences their life in derry, but we didn’t get much of that? mike’s importance to the losers (researcher, somewhat of a skeptic/hardass at times to keep the others together) was removed, his healthy family dynamic was removed (mike, richie, and possibly stan are the only characters in the book with healthy family dynamics, somewhat underscoring the concept that derry itself is trapped in a cycle of abuse), and derry’s history of racism is never touched on aside from the kids mentioning “the fire at the black spot” a couple times in passing. overall it was a fun movie and you can tell everyone making it had a blast but compared to the book it’s like. mmmmmmmmmmmmm

BASICALLY what i’m saying here is that the book is really deep wrt social issues, and while neither movie really touches on those concepts in-depth, they are still good horror movies on their own and ofc a part of american pop culture

The Queen’s Amusement

      A banquet. Yes, a banquet. One that filled the air with the salty smell of freshly cooked meat. A feast, fit for an army. An army that served under Kimiko’s hand, to be clear. No other man would sit at the end of the banquet table. It seated approximately 100 men; only her best knights and captains were invited. The seat at the far end of the table was fixed with a throne made of deep red mahogany and decorated with fine purple silk. Only the finest comforts for the Queen.       However, items were trivial in her eyes. Eyes that saw all. What the world had to offer, what she had the right to take. What it owed her, what it longed from her. For the very earth this kingdom and all of its land sat upon was truly her Earth; all her own. It would bend if she allow it, it would crumble under her heel if she so damn well pleased.       The queen waited among the shadows, yellow eyes piercing around smooth marble columns. A lilac evening gown fit her frame just so, accentuating love-making curves and feigning a clean perfection to supple, porcelain skin. Hand cut crystals of amethyst and moonstone peppered silky ebony locks. She kept wild hair tamed with a halo braid, letting the rest of her waves fall loose over her shoulders, down her back. Not a strand should fall to her face and take any attention away from her gaze.                            That soul-shattering, bone-chilling gaze.

      It was said that her gaze put men to an eternal slumber - it was said that her gaze has set whole villages aflame. Only a fool would dare hold such a penetrating stare for longer than a fleeting moment. Unless they desired their soul to be stripped from the very core of their steaming carcass. Yes, Tamashi Kimiko, Queen of this dastardly kingdom, wouldn’t think twice of stealing a life, whether or not he had a wife.        And a kiss? A poisonous kiss fallen from such crimson lips would suck the very air from helpless lungs. A kiss from her majesty was only safe when dreaming; though even the burliest of men have been known to sit up from their chambers in a girlish fright.        As her guests filed in, their clamor filling the hall and shaking black chain chandeliers, Kimiko watched on, her bare back brushing over sleek marble before she tucked herself away into the shadows once more. They would not eat a single spoonful until she had sat. And they would utter not a single word as she made her appearance. Only until the noise was unbearable, only until it beat within her chest cavity, shook her ivory bones -- Only then did she reveal herself.        The moment she emerged from darkness, the very second her silver slipper tapped a clean step, there was absolute silence. Such silence after a violent uproar made the ears ring; but the brutes would ignorantly believe that such noise was by her doing alone. Yes, none of them knew how to read, nor how to hold a feathered ink pen. Such a shame. However, she supposed that this is what made them so different than her. Their brains were just another muscle mass; her brain was an object of longevity.        With enough poise to strike a heart through the apex, with enough elegance to make a swan envious, Kimiko strode with pride to her throne. Lifting a sharp chin, all eyes rested upon her raised palm. She felt the very heat of her power and she reveled in it. With one gesture, they all pushed back their chairs and stood like trained chivalrous monkeys. Her lips quirked in a sickening smirk.        She did not speak a word, she only sat. Taking her sweet time, Kimiko tucked one leg over the other, sheer fabric sliding over her slim thighs and showing enough skin to give a priest a lifetime sentence. Most Queens would fancy themselves a heap of petticoats - however, Tamashi Kimiko wasn’t like most queens, now was she?        Finally, after she felt the spring-wire of impatience coil within a vast majority of them, she raised her hand again and made a simple gesture. The men sat in unison, all heads facing her. They waited without hesitation, with undying devotion. Her meal was brought on a silver platter and looked much more virtuous than the rest of the mush that filled wooden bowls. As the smells wafted to her nose, the Highest Honor leaned in and took a whiff. Her loyal servant stood beside her, stiff with unfaltering obedience. However, his lack of attention made her tick, and with a hasty snap of long fingers, the young man leaned in to try a piece of each part of her meal. Folding her hands over her stomach, Kimiko watched in placid boredom, eyelids drooping heavily with irritability.        When he was clearly free from death’s grasp, Kimiko picked up the silverware and touched a taste of foliage to her lips. Raising her eyes, she took the first bite. With one small action, the feast was called to a start. Men wasted no time in devouring the meat like the grimy pigs they were, soiling themselves with grease and buttering up with glistening fat. Sitting back, the queen watched how her army swallowed their plates as though they’ve never been fed Beast before. As though she’d never treated them to feast after feast. How despicable ; how selfish.         After she had enough of their glutton, a single hand rose and the sounds of jubilant pigs stumbled to a broken halt. Juices of charred Beast flesh dribbled from parted lips, and stubby hands sat dirtied in their squabble. Men were a disgusting thing.        A thin lipped smile traced fair features as she deliberately stole a glance from each man at the table, near and far. It came with great pride to notice that every brute of a man dropped their gaze, like mere lambs to the slaughter. 100 rats sitting in a cage; with but a single hungry serpent to entertain.

                                      What a goddamn shame.       Her royal guard shifted beside her, sheets of platinum metal searing against one another and breaking such beautiful silence. It was a thorn under her eye, a sore ego bruised upon such ignorant action. One should know when to stay still. Attention had broken from her majesty and instead fleetingly found her guard as an object of more importance. This she would not have, not at all. A short growl left her lips and made a few in the front row jump, a slippery slice of salted meat falling from their grasp and rattling the plate against the table.        Once all noise heeded her silent command, she spoke up. “ It must be heard that your devotion is very much noticed under a keen eye, my men. I will not stand for no cowards; nor will I allow any grievances be made to the fallen. Death struck them in their time of need. If a man must fall, let him fall with dignity.” Her words pierce the air like the finely tuned blade of an icicle.                                             Drip. Drip. Drip.       Kimiko weeded the weak ones out; how she saw their pain and grief behind bloodshot eyes. A toying smile pulls her lips upward, eyes narrowing to anyone who dared to stare back. She knew how entrancing her gaze was, how enticing her voice was. “ And let it be known,” She rose her voice steadily, the power of a thousand kings before it pushing onward, making warrior’s hearts shiver and crumple. “ That a knight who cowards before the eyes of death was not worthy of living a formidable life in the first place! ” This she shouted, slamming her goblet of wine against the table in such a way that fluid splashed over the edge of the cup and stained red against splintered wood.       Lips folded in on one another to stop the quivering -- oh, how those drooping faces of woe and despair make her all the more thirsty. Suddenly, a break in the trend. One man lifted from his chair, shaking visibly in his untamed anger.                            Rage can only be beautiful within my grasp.        She had amused herself, that was for sure. Eagerly, she sat back in her chair, hands stretching forward and fingers slowly clasping over the arms of her throne. The Queen waited like a child on Christ’s morning, nearly wriggling in her seat.        “ He was a good man,” The soldier started, his fist slowly clenching into a mighty block of scarred skin. Dragging a finger under her jaw, Kimiko tilted her head and looked down to him condescendingly. Almost as if she had not a clue what he was referring to. “ Geoffrey was a good man! ” He shouted, “ He left a wife and three children behind - we all get scared sometimes, i-it’s only human! ”  His roars shook silverware. Tension increased within the taut shoulders of knights surrounding the table. They were trained for war, but not for what they’d soon experience.        “ That’s where you’re wrong. Fear is a weakness. A true man of war knows how to bury that back with his father’s remains.” She sneered, a glint shining over amber irises.        A fat, chunky finger pointed to Her Majesty, to which her imperial guard placed a practiced hand against the hilt of his sword. No one dares such a foolish action -- succumbed with powerful emotion or not. “ Y-you’re nothing but an evil, soul-stealing witch! You let your people suffer for your own amusement! May he look in her eyes and see that this is what it meant to stare at death herself.       Leaning forward, Kimiko kept herself within twelve inches of his face, careful to distance herself from such filth. “ You’ll listen to my words, and listen carefully because they will be the last words you will hear.” The malice in her voice dripped in every syllable. Acid like that could melt through the polished marble beneath her feet.       “ I have a kingdom to rule, people to protect. My army is supposed to be made up of men who see me as the number one woman in their life, regardless of mother or wife. They are men whom devote their lives to this kingdom’s benefit. Fear is a disgusting trait you have learned from those who aren’t truly devoted. Tucking your poor man-skin between your legs and cowering in the midst of battle and bloodshed is an abominable, pathetic way to die. A true warrior roars in the face of death and accepts his eternal sentence with dignity.” Words growl and spit, snarl and rumble from her chest, bubbling in the back of her throat with a clear loathsome tone.       His face is rotten with insolence. The feared Queen of this land straightens her back and her face drops from it’s once twisted, apprehensive state.                                        “ What a waste of flesh. ”       Without a moment’s hesitation, Kimiko twists her body and snatches the heavy broadsword from her guard's hilt, unsheathing it and pivoting back to her victim. Swinging the sword from over her shoulder, Kimiko lopped his head clean off. The sound of flesh sweltering against cool metal was one she would relish; it was nearly as pleasing as the sound of loose flesh smacking against the sleek floor, the gurgling of blood bubbling from severed arteries. Fizzing up with her elation, Kimiko watched as lifeless eyes stared up into a vast void, the temple touching her toe. She was painted gloriously in vibrant red with streaks of crimson. The liquid was warm, the taste was coppery. Touching the tip of the sword to the marble, Her Majesty crouched and delved her fingers into grubby hair, picking up the severed head and letting it sway in her grasp as she addressed the table. Yellow eyes were lit with the life she had stolen, though something monstrously dark lurked beneath. The dozens of faces that contorted in horror and shock only fed fuel to her ever growing flame.       “ And let this, be a reminder of who guides you. Who guides this Kingdom! ” She drops the loose head upon her plate, shaking the table with it’s weight and ruffling the untouched greens that once sat there. With that, Kimiko slid her tongue between thumb and forefinger, a red streak staining her lips. Slowly, she lifted a mighty hand up, her lilac dress dazzled in a new righteous shade of red.                                            “ -- Now leave my sight.”

Part 5 Lady Gotham and Princess Dora

While Fright Knight was bringing Chaos to Oa the Bat clan was in its apocalypse is coming mode. Bruce was in the cave poring over everything Tim had sent him. The fact that he was in the cave wasn’t the strange thing it was the time. Bruce had several important meetings today but the were all canceled he had every lawyer he had and anyone who they knew looking on how to change the anti-ecto acts.

Several of his lawyers were leaving the country as well as there families. They noticed that the wording of the law half of Gotham and other cities with heroes the law could be applied to them. Bruce was seriously thinking of having his entire clan evacuated from America until they were overturned.

For once Lucius Fox was not on his case about canceling the meetings for bat reasons. He was having Luke look into anything that his military contacts could find to help them. Clark had stopped by to get as much information that he could get from them as Lois and Clark were going to alert the public about the acts in a way that won’t cause panic.

”Master Bruce the children will be here in about 15 minutes.”

”How did we miss this? We have entire teams teams looking for laws like this all over the world.”

”we area human Master Bruce we are not perfect nor are we omnipresent. We can try our best and if it is not enough try and fix it.”

The cave turned green as a portal opened. There was a blond green skinned woman in a medieval ballgown. She was followed by a woman she was thin with dark hair gray skin and partially see through she looked like a movie star from the 20’ with a floor length cocktail dress of dark red.

The dark hair woman smiled flashing fangs “my Dark Knight.” She said in a raspy purr.

The blonde girl gave a slight bow. “Hello Knight of Gotham I am Princess Dora of the Dragon kingdom. Lady Gotham speaks highly of you. I wish that we were meeting with better circumstances. Clockwork the ghost of time has told us that your Justice League has just found out about the Anti-Ecto act. We need your help and the help of your clan.”

Bruce looked at the woman and red and deep in his bones he knew her. She was Lady Gotham the shadows of the city the he protected and she protected him. The soul certainty that they would not hurt them. “How can we help you your majesty.”

“Our young King was captured by the GIW he sacrificed himself to save high Princess Ellie Phantom. Fright Knight and Pandora are telling the Green Lanterns what is happening so they can be ready to help when they return to earth we do not want to go to war but your government has struck many blows against us we are to the point that we will not be able to ignore them much longer.” Said Gotham her voice turning rasper the more she talked.

”Would you like some tea with some honey Lady Gotham” asked Alfred.

“That would be lovely”

“Let us retire to the parlor while Princesses Dora and Master Bruce work on how we’re going to save King Phantom.” Alfred offers his arm to Lady Gotham.

Bruce noticed that Gothams cheeks turned a darker gray. As Gotham took his hand and they left the cave.

Dora giggled as the door closed. “If we didn’t have a rescue mission to plan I would want to see what they were up to.”

Bruce blinked in surprise. “Why?”

“ I have known Lady Gotham for most of my afterlife. And in the last 20 years she has spoken more about Alfred than anyone else. If he becomes a Ghost she would start to court him as soon as his Core formed. The fact that she use english to speak to both of you is telling enough. Lady Gotham is not well she has not been for a long time she has trouble speaking mortal languages and being visible in the living realm. The fact that she was able to do this much is thanks to you and your clan’s support.”

It was nice to see that Gotham was healing now it was time to save a king and save the world.

HC: Dan deafeated Pariah from his timeline and ate his core. He didn't know it but rightly won the title and become King, King of a kingdom where everybody feared him. Then when the timeline disappeared, King of a fallen kingdom with no subjects. When the Pariah from the present timeline return; Dan, trying to help and save the friends & family he made on his redemption journey, was able to summon a sword, the true symbol of the Ghost King, only able to be raised by “pure hearts”.

Dan will still stay abrasive and kind of an jerk, but he has now family and friends to protect, who accepted him and love him (the Fenton Squad, his best bro Fright Knight, Plasmius a bit, Clockwork…). This is why he was able to raise the sword.

Dan is scared to love again and attached himself; creating bonds again. When he sees love or affection he got scared and flees, because he isn’t supposed to love and he isn’t supposed to be loved, it isn’t supposed to feel good or right.

He told himself that he is supposed to bring destruction and hate, not having loved-ones. He is supposed to be a monster, not a friend. He is supposed to be alone, not be surrounded and accepted. He isn’t supposed to be forgiven, and should remain alone, always alone.

Dan sometimes is agressive, borderline mean and cruel toward who he cares about, so they would resent him and leave him alone. Not long ago he would have been able to kill them, to be left alone, but now he can’t anymore and it’s terrifying him that he can’t kill some people anymore. He is terrified to care.

He is afraid to love people, but craving it as well. He is afraid to lose them and be left alone again.
