this could be the year for the real thing
buck/eddie | 1.7k | 7x06 coda(ish)
Eddie can count on one hand the number of times he’s been this horrifically hungover. His pre-teenage-pregnancy body bounced back blessedly quickly from tailgate parties and keg stands and beer pong tournaments, but after that? His cousins threw his bachelor party before he married Shannon, which involved a lot of mixed liquor, and then there were a couple miserable nights out after she left him, and now, last night, him and Buck the sole bachelor party members standing after Chim didn’t show up.
This is his worst hangover, because at least all the other times he wasn’t seized with worry about one of his closest friends and regret that he and Buck hadn’t noticed the empty hotel bed the night before. The nausea from hell doesn’t help, either.
Chim’s safe now, under the careful monitor of Cedars hospital staff and Maddie no more than three feet away from him at all times. The relief is a palpable thing, and Buck offering him a steaming paper cup of green tea soothes the churning in his gut a little bit, too.
He takes a sip and sighs gratefully, slumping against Buck in the hospital waiting room chairs when he takes the seat beside Eddie.
“Still queasy?” Buck asks, voice a rumble.
“Mm,” Eddie says, “back-to-back shots of tequila and sambuca are not it.”
Buck shudders beside him. “Don’t,” he begs, closing his eyes and tipping his head back. “I’m still very much in range of hurling.”
“Have you eaten anything today?” Eddie’d only managed half a banana when he went home to shower and change, but he knows Buck’s been with Maddie most of the day, and when it comes to taking care of other people, he sometimes forgets about himself.
“Had a granola bar,” Buck says, eyes still closed. “Can’t—don’t wanna think about food yet.”
His stomach chooses then to grumble audibly, with traitorously comedic timing, and Eddie snorts. Buck opens one eye to grin at him.
“Don’t listen to her,” he says, patting his belly. “She doesn’t know what she’s talking about.”
“She doesn’t, huh? Then I guess she’s not interested in stopping by the juice bar on Sunset on the way home? Some sweet, sweet smoothies, all that fresh fruit and hydration, don’t even have to chew…”
Buck’s stomach rumbles interestedly and they both laugh.
“That sounds—so good, actually,” Buck admits. “We can pick up the peanut butter one for Chris, he’s always hankering—”
He breaks off as Hen appears at the end of the hallway, looking around and hurrying over as soon as she spots them. Eddie doesn’t think anything’s wrong—she’s beaming—but he and Buck sit up quickly in their seats anyway.
“Ugh,” Buck says, and Eddie’s dizziness at the sudden movement wholeheartedly agrees.
“We’re having a motherfucking wedding,” Hen grins, tugging them both to their feet, uncaring of their delicate dispositions. “Right here, right now.”
“Hospital wedding?” Buck asks, eyes wide. “Holy shit, okay, what do we need—who do we call—fuck—”
“Calm down, Buckaroo,” Hen smiles. “Just get friends and family over here, Karen’s gonna pick up Maddie’s dress, I’m gonna call Bobby, and we’re having a wedding.”
Buck’s already pulling up a copy of the guest list on his phone, squinting at it and muttering names under his breath.
“You boys got this?” Hen asks while dialling Bobby.
“Yep,” Eddie gives her a mock salute. “We’ll split the list and make some calls.”
He types out half the names Buck reads off to him in his notes app, and the two of them work through them methodically, calling Chim and Maddie’s nearest and dearest for this impromptu ceremony.
“Chris will kill us if he misses it,” he says suddenly, and Buck looks up at him, mid-text.
“He’s with Isabel, right? Pepa’s place is only a ten minute drive from here.”
Eddie nods. “I don’t have my car, though. You drove me.”
Buck tosses him the Jeep keys. “I’ll finish calling people, you go get them.”
“Cool,” Eddie says, and nearly bodies himself with the instinctive urge to lean over and kiss Buck on the cheek as he stands. It’s surprising, even though it shouldn’t be, because it’s an urge he fought and failed about thirty times last night, Buck’s sweaty skin pressed to his, salty under his mouth every time he dropped an innocuous, friendly kiss to his face with nothing but alcohol in his veins.
It hadn’t seemed out of place then, everything shiny and bright, Buck leaning right back into him.
Now, under the fluorescents of the hospital, organising a makeshift wedding for their family? Eddie doesn’t think it would land quite the same.
“Back in twenty,” he tells Buck instead, and has to physically tear himself away from the smile Buck turns his way, warm and golden under the harsh lights.
Chris and Abuela are delighted to be included, and, true to his word, they’re back at the hospital as the rest of the guests begin arriving, too.
Eddie’s—okay, he’s not going to say he’s not a crier, it’s just that his best friend is Buck, who cries at anything remotely tearjerky, so in comparison, Eddie’s not a crier. Now, though, they’re both very much damp-cheeked, much like everyone else crowded into this hospital room, watching Maddie and Chim exchange rings and vows with little Jee between them.
They’re a family, have been and would still be even if they never got hitched, but the fact that Chim refused to wait another few weeks, another few days, another minute before marrying Maddie? Eddie’s chest aches in the best way, and he slings an arm around Chris, and, before he knows he’s doing it, he looks for Buck.
The ceremony’s over, and Buck’s grinning at his phone, and Eddie pats for his own automatically, anticipating a goofy text.
But Buck’s edging backward, slipping out of the room, still grinning at his phone, and the ache inside Eddie spreads like an inkstain, blotting his insides.
And then Buck reappears with Tommy, which Eddie knew he was going to do, because who else would have Buck smiling at his phone like that, leaving his sister’s wedding even for a minute. Not me, Eddie doesn’t think. He doesn’t.
He’s not ready to make sense of the churning inside him—he doesn’t think he can blame the hangover for this one—when he clocks Tommy’s soot-stained everything and the way Buck’s own smudgy face matches like a puzzle piece.
He sees the way Chim notices, and Hen and Karen, Bobby’s eyes going wide and then soft. He sees the way Margaret Buckley doesn’t even attempt to school her face into anything but distaste and he hates her, but Buck’s not even looking at her. He’s looking at Bobby, and then he’s looking at Chim, and he’s smiling, this wide, guileless spread of happiness across his face.
Eddie’s helpless to smile too, the churning too complicated to parse beyond easy joy at every step of Buck’s sexuality journey, and this second-hand relief he’s not sure he’s got any entitlement to—he doesn’t, does he? Sure, he can be relieved that Buck doesn’t feel like he has to stay closeted, that everyone who matters loves him just the same, but he doesn’t get to feel like any of the relief belongs to him. Not now.
Not—yet.
Tommy’s made his way to Chim’s bedside to congratulate them properly, and Buck’s squeezing through the guests to get to the Diazes.
“Hey, bud,” he says to Chris. “Hi, Isabel.”
His face is still a smear of soot, and Chris giggles. “Buck. Your face.”
Buck frowns in confusion and Eddie steps over to him, hand already reaching to wipe the soot off his face, just like he has a hundred times at work. Except Tommy’s already there, licking his thumb and rubbing firmly at Buck’s chin, a gesture so familiar to Eddie that watching it happen separate from him feels like getting punched in the throat.
And beside the joy and the second-hand relief, there’s—this sense of profound loss. This emptiness, a space inside him he didn’t realise Buck had been occupying all this time. And now it’s like Eddie’s entered the room, finally, but the door is swinging shut on the far wall and Buck’s footsteps are echoing softer and softer as he leaves. Eddie’s late, he’s missed something he didn’t know was waiting, much less had a timeline on it.
The room empties out slowly, everyone giving the Buckley-Hans some space to rest, and Buck disappears down the hall hand-in-hand with Tommy.
“Y’all ready to go home?” Eddie asks Abuela and Chris. “We can get take-out.”
“Is Buck coming?” Chris asks.
“Uh, I don’t think so, mijo,” Eddie glances down the hall. “Although—” he pats his pocket, retrieving the Jeep keys, and startles when Buck appears by his shoulder.
“You have my keys,” he informs Eddie, stretching his hand out for them. Eddie drops them in his palm dutifully. “Juice bar? The fancy one on Sunset.”
Chris whoops excitedly, and Eddie smiles, even as his brow furrows.
“You’ve not got a hot date?” he asks Buck quietly as they walk to the exit.
“I drove you,” Buck shrugs.
Eddie rolls his eyes, stopping Buck with a hand at his elbow. “I think we can manage getting a cab.”
“I seem to recall you promising me a ‘sweet, sweet smoothie,’” Buck says, raising an eyebrow at Eddie. “You tryna stiff me, Eds?”
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” Eddie lifts his hands in surrender. “Uh—do you wanna ask Tommy along?”
“Nah,” Buck says easily. “Maybe another time. He’s just gotten off shift. I’m seeing him tomorrow, anyway.”
“Okay,” Eddie nods slowly, ache bittersweet. “Just us, then.”
Buck beams. “Me and my boys,” he crows, wrapping an arm around Eddie’s shoulders and tugging him forward so he can wrap the other one around Chris. Isabel makes a noise of offense, and Buck hastily amends, “Me and my boys and Abuela. Dream team!”
Christopher groans at the very public embarrassment and Abuela smiles indulgently at Buck and Eddie lets himself get pulled along, safe in this room in his heart that won’t ever be empty, even if Buck’s not filling it in the same capacity as Eddie’s getting ready to allow himself to want.
It doesn’t matter. The door on the far wall’s not quite swung shut after all; it sits ajar, crack of light and Buck’s love spilling through. Maybe one day he’ll come back through it. Maybe one day Eddie’ll follow after him enough to ask.

Notice me
Ceo!Wonwoo x Fem!reader - 1.8k words
Tumblr media
you finally have your boyfriend all to yourself but what's the point when he's too busy staring at his phone to even look at the ruby necklace you put on for him?
Established relationship, Non-idol au, angst (happy endings tho) and smut
ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ
You’re seated in a crowded restaurant, as the laughter and excitement of other customers fill your ears. It’s a surprise that you don’t happen to feel the same way as them, it’s your first date with your boyfriend after almost three months and he won’t even look in your direction; his eyes glued to his phone ever since you both sat down in your seats. You play with the food on your plate, huffing out of boredom.
“Wonwoo…” You start and he replies with a hum without even looking up.
“You know the ruby necklace you got me last year from Greece? I’m wearing that today, how does it look?” You ask, half excited in hope that he would look up at you for once tonight.
You felt a little disappointed with yourself, practically throwing yourself at your boyfriend in attempts of catching his attention since the night started. But, to no avail, he replied without even looking up, “It looks gorgeous babe.”
You furrowed your eyebrows as you began speaking, “Wonwoo could you look at me? You haven’t put down your phone since the date started…” your voice becoming smaller by the end.
“I’m sorry honey, the deal is just about to close and if all goes well we can finally go on the vacation you’ve been planning for a while now.”
You could only sigh in response, you know that he’s doing it all for you. He’s loyal, handsome and so loving, it almost makes you feel guilty for stripping him away of his time while he’s so busy. You’re just thankful he’s even sitting in-front of you during such a stressful week but, there’s still a part of you that wants all of his attention to yourself.
After another ten minutes of silence and both of your foods being left untouched, you decide you’ve had enough and message your personal driver asking him to pick you up.
It's not like your absence here would make such a big difference.
In the next 15 minutes your driver is here and you slowly get up and leave and even if you were expecting it, you still feel hurt when you realise your boyfriend hasn't felt your absence yet.
You walk with your head down and sit down in the car, weakly asking your
driver to take you back home making sure he can't hear the silent sobs leaving your mouth.
When you reach home you immediately run to your bedroom, taking off your heels that you put on just for wonwoo and wiping off your makeup - it's all ruined anyways.
You check your phone after a while, once you've finished your skincare and are comfortable in bed as a way of getting your mind off of your awful night.
Wonu💗: ???
Wonu 💗: where did you go?
2 Missed calls from Wonu💗
Wonu 💗: I'm coming home, we will talk then.
And as you read the message simultaneously you hear the front door unlock and wonwoos footsteps inching closer to your shared bedroom. You quickly turn your back towards the door so he can't see your heartbroken expression.
"*Y/N?" He calls out resulting in no response from you.
"Baby I know you're awake, don't ignore me." He adds on with a sigh, reaching out to rub your back softly.
You hesitate a little before looking up to him, eyes swollen with tears.
"Baby talk to me...what happened?" He asks and you feel like crying even more about the fact that he's so unaware about his actions.
Did he not feel as alone as you? Did he not miss you? Maybe he found someone new?
All these thoughts crossed your mind and as if he could see the cogs moving in your brain he continued, "Don't worry yourself all on your own, please...talk to me" he was basically begging.
"All night wonwoo.." you started as he urged you to continue
""You ignored me all night wonwoo. I understand that your work is important and every day you work hard for me...for us..."' you add while he takes your fidgeting hands into his own.
"I know you had to clear out your schedule for today and I'm thankful that you did but, I guess I was just expecting your full attention on me. I even wore your favourite dress tonight in hopes that you would give me all your attention and i don't know...I guess I was just being silly." You finish as you carefully look up to see wonwoos furrowed eyes brows as if he's trying to make sense of everything you said.
Getting a little embarrassed, you take your hands away from him and cover your face, "ugh I knew it, it's just all so silly..I'm feeling like a high schooler again" and to that he chuckles as he urges you to look at him again.
"I'm sorry baby.." he starts as you look at him with watery eyes.
"'You're not being silly at all, you're right, I cleared out my schedule to be with
you, you're not silly for expecting my full attention on you. I'm sorry that I
haven't been here for you, I know you've missed me I've missed you so much too." You carefully nod as you take in everything he's saying.
"I promise, I'll take the entire next week off. We can go wherever you want, just us two, no business calls whatsoever!" He finishes with a small attempt of enthusiasm as you giggle while he pulls you on his lap - both of your legs wrapped around his waists.
And almost immediately, his lips are on yours and what started as an innocent apologetic kiss turns into something a lot more intense.
He swipes his tongue over your lips as you open your mouth, inviting his muscle inside as your hands reach out to grab the back of his neck.
He pulls away with saliva connecting both of your mouths and you look at him meekly, grinding yourself onto him in objection to the sudden loss of contact.
He chuckles deeply as he takes his glasses off while having a bruising grip on your thighs, preventing you from pushing yourself onto him even more as a wet patch grows visible on your sleeping shorts. You lean in to give him gentle yet harsh kisses on his neck that will most likely leave a mark that he will most definitely complain about tomorrow morning before going to work.
""Wonu.." you whine as your hands make there way to unbutton his formal shirt, which he immediately stops.
You look up at him with the best puppy eyes as he gently pushes you on your back, connecting his lips with yours again.
"Hmmm...need all these off.." he thinks out loud, pulling your shirt off.
"No bra?" He asks with a raise of his eyebrows and you whine in embarrassment, covering your chest.
"What's so embarrassing? Nothing I haven't seen before." He says with a smirk as he goes in to suck on your left tit while his hand plays with your right nipple.
"Wonu.." you gasp, "not fair.." you can barely even speak, "you're fully clothed and 'm basically naked." You finish with a whine.
"Well, we gotta do something about that don't we?" He asks teasingly as your hands once again make there way to unbutton his shirt, successfully taking it off this time. He reaches out for your shorts that he takes off with your underwear in one go, cold air hitting your soaking cunt.
You watch as he spits on your wet core and inserts two fingers in one go, erupting a loud moan (it was basically a scream) as he chuckles. "Aww look at my baby, she's been so desperately waiting for me hasn't she? Soaking wet.."he adds with a slap on your cunt as you buck your hips, trying to be as close to him as possible.
"Yes! Yes! Been waiting for you!" You squeal out as Wonwoo smirks in satisfaction. "Been wanting you for so long!" You add on with a moan.
"Don't worry baby, I'll give you all the attention you've been craving." You moan once again as he attaches his mouth to your clit, sucking on it like a starved man.
"Wonuu 'm gonna cum.." you furrow your eyebrows, focused on your orgasm.
"Cmon baby, be a good girl and come for me."
The nicknames puts you on edge as you come with shaking legs.
"Baby.." you whine as your hands are in the air, reaching out for your boyfriend.
"Want you now.." you continue as your eyes fall onto his growing bulge and he raises his eyebrows at you.
"Yeah? You sure?" He questions in amusement, thinking you would be too tired to continue.
"Yes! I waited for sooooo long." You whine.
"Well if my baby waited so long for me then who am I to say no?" As he lets down his boxers for the first time tonight. You're basically drooling at the sight of his cock as it hits against his abdomen.
"You're ready baby?" He asks and you enthusiastically nod your head in agreement which he chuckles to, "words baby."
"Yes wonu I want you, I want your big cock inside me pleaseee" you beg and he thinks he might just cum at this moment.
"Fuck...princess" he moans as he sinks into your drenched pussy, legs touching
his shoulder as you're basically folded in half. He thrusts, slow and deep into
you, grabbing your hand into his, leading it up to the bulge in your stomach."Fuck, you feel this princess? This is how deep I am into you." You gulp at the feeling of his bulge.
"Faster" you whine and he complies.
"Shit 'm about to cum wonwoo" you barely let out.
"Oh yeah? me too princess where do you want it?" He asks while sweat drips down his forehead.
Almost immediately you respond, "inside, inside Wonwoo please, need to feel all of you." And who is he to deny his pretty princess.
You both basically shake during your orgasm as he slows down, pulling out and you swear right now he looks like the most beautiful man you've ever seen.
He rolls onto his side, pulling you close to him as your sweaty bodies become as physically close as they possibly can.
"Feeling good baby?" He asks softly, stroking your hair away from your sticky forehead, a different demeanour compared to literally five minutes ago.
You shyly smile, "uh huh, I feel so good."
And even though it's dark you can basically feel all the heat in his body rush to his cheeks.
After a few minutes of silence he speaks up again, "I gotta clean you up baby and the sheets are all messy we need to change them."
You whine at the thought of moving from this comfortable position.
"Just five more minutes." You whine
"Siri set the timer for 5 minutes." He says with a grin.
"N00000000"

SHOCK FACTOR★彡(1/?)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Paige Bueckers x Rival!Reader
Warnings: swearing
Summary: After a close game and a couple bad decisions, the media has pitted you and Paige against each other. When you finally meet off the court you’re not sure what to expect…
A/n: got many requests for some sort of rival player type-thing!!! I combined some ideas to please the masses :) there will be more parts obv. This chap is pretty long so sorry for that!!
___________________________________________________________
“This question here is for Paige again. Now, is there anything you have to say about the little altercation near the end of the third quarter with number 3 on USC? it was quite a tense moment!”
The blonde smirks to herself, her hand rubbing her forehead. “There ain’t much to say. I went for the ball and obviously she did too. I’m not tryna give anything up, I jus personally think I got it first but that doesn’t matter anymore.” She shrugs. “Thas it.”
There’s a pause for a moment, before she opens her mouth again. “I will say though, ion have much patience for players who can’t control their language.”
Her teammates share looks at this comment, and the reporters attempt to press further but Geno ensures Paige doesn’t talk for the rest of the press conference.
“(Name) how many times have you watched this fuckin video.” JuJu comes up from behind you, scaring the shit out of you and snapping you back to reality.
“I haven’t watched it that much.” You roll your eyes. “I just…never mind.”
“It’s time to move on, shit like this happens. Jus gotta keep on that grind.” She says, sitting down beside you. Despite being a freshman, Juju was naturally mature. You and her had become a popular junior/freshman duo both on and off the court. You pushed her harder and she kept you on your toes.
“I’m moved on.” You huff.
“No you’re not…look at yo hands gripping your phone.” She laughs and you roll your eyes.
The issue wasn’t the prolonged tussle for the ball when your team played UConn, it wasn’t Paige barely regarding you, or her shading the occasional curse you’d let slip during a game. These things all fuelled what really was bothering you. The way you responded.
TWO WEEKS EARLIER, POST UCONN GAME
“Where’s JuJu? Prolly eating or something she’s lowkey a big back.”
You laugh at your roommates response to the question. It had been a weird couple of days since USC faced UConn, usually there wasn’t a lot of buzz around women’s college games but this year was different. The media was all up on everyone, especially UConn since Paige returned in better health for her senior year. You decided to go live to have some fun and interact with your viewers, even though your mind was elsewhere.
“What were your thoughts on how you guys played Connecticut?” You read aloud from the chat. “Um, they’re great. I mean it was pretty close. Me and the girls did what we could and we’re gonna kill it next year, so.” You say, perfectly passive and normal. In your head you were furious at how close the game had been, but there was nothing you could do.
Near the end of the third quarter, you and Paige had a little tussle for possession of the ball. You could’ve sworn you’d gotten it before pale skinned hands darted out for the grab, almost stealing it from you before your instincts kicked in and managed your grip. You vividly remember the yells from teammates, coaches and the stands as you and Paige momentarily wrestled for the ball, her tongue sticking out between her lips and her eyes determined before number 3 on her team tore her away.
Grazing your hand against hers at the end of the game was humiliating, and she was undoubtedly looking forward to it; holding your fingers a moment too long before letting out the most agitating, self-fulfilled “good game” with a smile that would’ve warranted a punch to her teeth had you not been on camera.
You didn’t bother to smile back, but muttered a perfectly timed “bitch” just as her hand let go of yours. Nobody heard it except you and her, and the subtle change in expression from haughty to straight faced was a beautiful sight for sore eyes.
“They keep asking about the thing with Paige.” Your roomie reads, and you shove her. “Bro why’d you say that out loud…now I have to address it.” You whisper to her, annoyed. She wasn’t on the team, and didn’t think about things like that.
She shoots an apologetic look, and you decide to act like nothing happened. The damage is done though, because now all the comments are about Paige.
“You handled the press good after.”
“If I was you I would’ve taken it off the court ngl”
“You were wrong for that!”
“What happened with Paige???”
“The way she was looking at u after….mm”
“Did you see what she said on the panel?”
Scanning through the various questions you found it harder and harder to not think about it. Basketball is a contact sport, things like a fight for the ball weren’t rare. Sure it was a little aggressive, but nothing you weren’t ready for. Paige seemed ready herself, her hands gripping the already-in-your-grasp ball, her eyes shooting you the coldest look they could muster. You’d already seen edits of her all over social media, tousling with you for a moment before being dragged off by Aaliyah.
JuJu walks into your dorm and sits next to you, reading the comments as well. She slightly shakes her head at all the mentions of Paige, but greets the chat nevertheless.
Fuck it. It’s late night, you’ve been getting annoyed by all of this attention on Paige and you, and people weren’t gonna forget about it anytime soon. One comment won’t hurt.
“Did I see what Paige said on the panel?” You read out loud. JuJu shoots you a look. “Yeah…I did. ” You say, suspicious as possible. “Ion know…i jus don’t have much patience for that swiper no swiping shihhh…..stuff.” You mock Paige, then catch yourself before fully saying shit. Two digs at the blonde at UConn in one sentence, one for her statement and the other for her criticism on your swearing.
You, your roommate and JuJu all look at each other for what seems like an eternity before bursting into an explosion of laughter. You were just being petty, it didn’t seem like a big deal at the time.
It kinda was.
PRESENT TIME
You’ve always loved east-coast America. It has a different kind of feel, especially during spring. The weather was getting hotter and everyone is hyped for summer break, at least those without classes. You and some of your teammates were going on a little Big East road trip, and of course the east meant places like New York, Michigan, Boston, Rhode Island, Connecticut.
God, you weren’t ready for Connecticut. The media was really eating you and Paige’s (non-existent) beef up, and you wondered if it would translate into real life. What was worse was that you had a friend who went to UConn who you were seeing for sure.
“I am not coming to your school.” You said hastily over the phone.
“Chill.” Elaine, your friend responded. “Nobody wants you here anyways.”
“Shuttuppppp it’s not funny.” You whine, knowing she was joking but hoping there was no truth in the statement. You could handle the smoke of a mini rivalry, but confrontation was just awkward.
“Just be ready. The minute you’re in town let me know, we can go to my favourite bar.” She laughs.
“Got it.” You respond happily. You were gonna have a fun night out, things were gonna be chill. You’d maybe have a drink…maybe get hammered. It was gonna be good.
-
“You should go live.”
“No fucking way.” You shake your head. The bar was crowded, but nice. You understand why your friend wanted to take you.
“Are most of these people UConn kids?” You ask.
“Yeah.” Elaine responds, looking around. “This is like the Storrs hangout spot on a Friday night. Anyways, I’ve missed seeing your lives.”
“I know, I know.” You rub your head. “I literally can’t though. Like, I’m on a social media ban. Goddd, after that last live you don’t get how much shit I got.”
“I thought it was funny!” She says, and you smile. “Oh my god (Name), did you see her tweet after.”
“BYE.” you cover your face, laughing. A couple hours after the live, Paige had tweeted some sort of passive aggressive very targeted thing about how God has her back when people give her a hard time or something like that. You’d almost died when it showed on your TL.
“Have you seen all the edits comparing me n her.” You manage to get out between laughs. Sure, you didn’t have the spectacular reputation Paige did. The girl had started her college career stronger then literally everyone else, and she was top pick to begin with. Her return to the court was well anticipated, even by you.
Still despite that, you had a certain sparkle in game. You played flashy, but you could back it up. Your freshman year you were very much an underdog, a stark difference from Paige, but your sophomore year had been very different, and this year as a junior you were getting recognition that almost gave you whiplash. Your talent was undoubted.
“I think both of you guys are being extra careful on socials now.” Elaine says. “I mean Paige is pretty active, but when they go live the minute your name is brought up, which it always is, she like…mysteriously disappears from view. It’s actually funny.”
“Whatever.” You say, taking a swig of your drink. “As funny as it is, I’m tired of all this shit, it’s unnecessary. Let’s forget about her.”
Elaine lets out a cough, before covering her face. “Pfft. Um, yeah. Let’s forget about it.”
“What….what is it?” You say, raising an eyebrow. Your friends eyes are stuck behind you. When you turn on the barstool as conspicuously as possible, you feel your stomach physically lurch.
“You’re fucking kidding.”
“We have great luck.” Elaine muffles a laugh.
You spin back towards her, talking through bared teeth. “You brought me to Storrs’s most popular bar on a Friday night…Storrs…fuck. That’s their campus? Seriously??!”
“Don’t be mad.” She sheepishly smiles. “I don’t pay that much attention to them…I didn’t think it through.”
“Boo, you whore. Even I know they’re like, bar-fiends.” You grumble, putting your head down. “God, just put your head down, cover me, something. I’m not tryna do this right now.”
Covering your eyes and keeping your back to the group, you ask. “How many of them are here. Tell me exactly who.”
“Umm, I don’t know all of them.” She says.
“Bitch just tell me…I swear to god.” You sneer, casually attempting to turn, discreetly letting your eyes graze the masses before they meet a pair of blue ones.
Shit.
Her eyes hold yours for a moment too long. Her hair is down instead of her signature ponytail and braids. She’s dressed casually, and posed confidently. Her expression is one of surprise…then amusement…and then something you can’t quite recognize. When her friends start to follow her gaze, you finally turn away.
“Elaine, I’m gonna fucking kill you.”
“Calm down, it’s fine. You always say you can handle the smoke, right?”
“Yeah when I’m in California I can…not when I’m in a UConn infested bar with Paige fucking Bueckers and her cult staring me down.”
“They’re really staring. Oh, KK just pointed at you.” Elaine says, looking at them obviously. You fix your posture and adjust your hair at this.
“Are they like…coming over?”
“Yep.” She murmurs under her breath, indicating they’re close.
“Umm, hey.” A voice says from behind you. It’s low, almost raspy. You remember it being way more strained and arrogant on the court. In the bar, it was almost attractive.
“Hey.” You say, as cool as possible. Turning to face Paige and her teammates usually wouldn’t have intimidated you, you could hold your ground and you were confident in yourself, but here? On their turf? With none of your own teammates? And a couple drinks in you? Your body was already tingling, and you were terrified you would say something to dig your hole deeper.
“Think I could get a picture?” Paige says. She sounds likes she’s severely forcing herself, arms crossed and drink already half empty despite just entering the bar. Azzi’s face breaks into an amused smirk beside her, and her other friends hang back with giggly expressions.
“A…picture?” You say, confused. The three of you stare at each other for an awkward moment before you break the silence. “Sorry…that was rude of me, my bad. I just wasn’t expecting that.” You laugh. “If you actually want a picture I can do that for you.”
“Thanks.” Paige smiles, but there’s no happiness behind it. When she poses by you, her hand just hovers above your waist. She can’t even bring herself to touch you. You give your best smile as Azzi takes the picture on Paige’s phone.
When she shows it to the two of you, you realize why Paige might’ve wanted that picture.
“You’re gonna really shock everyone when you post that.” You say, laughing. Paige’s face finally breaks to a more authentic smirk that sends shivers down your spine. It’s like the one she wore when you two were facing each other on the court. Proud, confident, ready for anything.
“Never let em’ know your next move.” She says, eyes piercing yours.
-
As the night goes on the bar gets more and more busy, you have to yell over the music for Elaine to hear you. You’re not exactly trying to talk to her though, because she’s mostly talking about Paige.
“You know she’s sort of a campus heart-throb right?”
“What??” You yell, although you’ve perfectly heard what she’s said.
“She’s. Hot. Maybe you should flirt with her a little.” Elaine says.
You just shake your head. “I’m gonna get another drink.”
Your luck is spectacular for the night, because there are no barstool seats left except one a little too close to Paige, who’s sitting alone and waiting for her drink. You silently curse, but are thankful her team isn’t there too. You sit by her as confidently as possible, avoiding her gaze.
She’s watching you indubitably, noting every move you make. Your posture as you sit, the Polaroid behind your clear phone case, the way your lips move when you ask the bartender for your favourite drink, these are all thinks she seemingly makes note of.
You can’t help but overhear her scoff at your drink choice, to which you finally turn and acknowledge her, raising your eyebrow.
“Out of everything you could’ve ordered you got that?” She says, haughty as ever.
“Not everyone is trying to get white-girl-wasted.” You respond curtly, eyeing her Dirty Shirley.
Paige scoffs. “You don’t talk as big as you do on your lives.”
Shrugging, you respond “Someone asked a question and I answered, simple as that.”
“Ion know bout that one.” She rolls her eyes.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“I think you’re just feining for people to talk bout you.”
This bitch. You internally think, brows furrowed at her statement. “Wouldn’t have even been brought up if you hadn’t let your fatass ego get in the way of your media training during that press conference.” You sneer. “Now that is feining for people to talk..”
“Someone asked a question and I answered.” She smiles, sending a hot flash of anger throughout your body. “Simple as that.”
“You think you’re so smart.” You grumble out, turning your head from her. The sheer arrogance is radiating from her body, it’s annoying you to no end.
“I am.” She says, as if it’s common knowledge. “Plus, I’m not the one who started twisting words. That was you, remember?”
When your drink is finally set in front of you, you make a point to get up from the stool and grab it, sending Paige a steely look. “Good talk, Bueckers.”
“Aye, wait a sec.”
You’re already walking away, taking a big gulp of your drink when she slides off of her stool and catches up, walking beside you. You don’t miss how her eyes flick to your mouth when you wipe it clean, facing her begrudgingly.
“Why’re you even here?” She asks. “Visiting yo girlfriend?”
“Who, Elaine?” You laugh, Elaine being the straightest girl you know. “Why’re you so interested?”
“Wasn’t expecting to see some California girl in Storrs. You sure you weren’t plotting on seeing me?” Paige grins, taking a step towards you. She’s taller then you, and the way she tilts her head downwards when she speaks gives you an unrecognizable feeling that you’re planning to blame on the alcohol.
“I got up close and personal with you once, and it was enough.” You smile, holding her stare. She chews on the straw of her Shirley, her expression both amused and something else.
“Ion think so.” She mumbles.
“You don’t have to think.” You respond, looking her up and down for a moment. It feels like an eternity passes as you two challenge each other, the air gets thicker by the minute and you finally break away from her, walking as confidently as you can, far from where she can see you.
-
You don’t see Paige again after that, presumably because her and her friends went elsewhere. Laying in a hotel room next to your teammates, you can’t help but think about the blonde and how odd your interaction was. She had this way of looking at you like she knew exactly what you were thinking, even though you knew damn well she knew nothing except for how you were on the court. Still, despite how her voice made your skin itch and her mannerisms induced the need for violence, there was something else you couldn’t quite put your finger on.
As if reading your mind, your phone began to vibrate uncontrollably. You check your notifications to see a sea of messages and a couple more alien ones on Instagram.
paigebueckers started following you.
paigebueckers tagged you in their story.
jujubballin sent you a story.
jujubballin sent you a message.
kenzie_4bs sent you a story.
kenzie_4bs sent you a message.
You accept Paige’s request and view her story, which features the picture of you and Paige. You sitting and her standing, her hand just hovering above your waist, her face a curt close-mouthed smile and yours wide and genuine. It’s an interesting photo which she’s captioned “Cali meets Connecticut!”
You scoff at her version of being witty, and immediately cringe at the sheer amount of traction the post has gotten already, with at least 50 people in your inbox within the first 15 minutes of the post coming out. The messages range from “The crossover we needed!!” To “Ik you wanted to punch her white-ass” and frankly it was all too much for you. Social media, Connecticut, the messages, Paige.
She seemed to be the main article of stress in your life the past couple weeks and it seemed to smart to keep a distance from her from this point onward.
The girl really knows how to induce that shock factor.

n : just a little blurb to avoid writers block as i go through writing requests! mom abby literally has me in tears every time.
click for palestine / please read (important!!) / how you can help palestine
Tumblr media
your son was a splitting image of abby. down the blue eyes and faint freckles scattered like stardust across his cherubic cheeks. only his hair and smile bore resemblance to you. a smile abby which never failed to melt her heart terribly even if she’d argue otherwise. abby was know to be rather protective of you. this trait revealed to you in the early stages of your relationship, wayy before kai was even a fleeting thought. now at the age of 5, your son kai had adopted the same protective tendencies from his mother.
the overprotectiveness only got worse when news of your second pregnancy was revealed to the two. the two of them were non stop hovering over you. waiting at your side beck and call.
especially since abby had been swamped with meetings and other work related stuff, only much to her disapproval, resulting her coming back home late.
midday boredom plagued you, a sensation exacerbated by the heaviness of pregnancy. ordinarily, you'd fill your hours with chores and entertaining lai, but your swollen belly made such tasks arduous. laundry was the next best thing. with everything washed and dried by abby, all that remained was folding— a task you could manage, albeit with effort.
you slowly rose from the couch, a hand instinctively pressed against your back, a huff escaping your lips under the strain of your burgeoning belly. kai's concerned gaze followed you, mirroring abby's recent looks of worry.
your heart swelled with affection at the resemblance.
"where are you going, mommy?" kai inquired, his voice laced with concern.
"just to the kitchen, my love. i'll be fine," you reassured him with a gentle smile.
but kai, inheriting his mother's protectiveness, wasn't easily placated. "
mama said you should sit down," he persisted, his brow furrowing. chuckling softly, you assured him, "your mom worries too much. i'll be okay, i promise." you chuckled, tickling him playfully before planting kisses upon his giggling face. his giggles only drawing laughter from you before you put an end to the merciless tickling before a foot accidentally landing on your belly.
“i’ll be back okay?”
“kay.” kai hums before his attention instantly turned back to the cartoons on the tv.
you walked (waddled) towards the kitchen, the swelling at your feet not making things easier but you persevered, as it wasn’t anything you weren’t used to by now. shortly after you found yourself in the laundry room, slowly bending to open and reach for the clothes in the dryer. you began to fill the basket with clothes, thereafter humming a tune while doing so.
unbeknownst to you, kai, attuned to every sound, heard the familiar rumble of a car pulling into the driveway and he instantly sprung to his feet, his spiderman sneakers hitting the ground before he called out to you.
“mommy i think someone’s here!” the 5 year old called out but didn’t hear a hum nor a response from you. had you closed the door to the laundry room maybe that’s why you couldn’t hear him? or was it that thing abby often teased you about having really bad hearing when pregnant? too impatient to find a suitable reason for the 5 year old, he dashed over to the window to see which was by the door. standing on his tippy toes, peering out to catch a glimpse of the black SUV abby often drove now parked in the driveway.
“mama’s here!” kai muttered under his breath excitedly, eagerly watching his mom step out the car and make her way towards the door, holding what the little boy could see were grocery bags. in mere seconds as the door opened, kai ran into abby’s legs hugging them close, causing an oof to escape your wife’s lips at the impact before she smiles, setting the grocery bags into one hand before managing to pick the boy up and setting him on her hip.
“hey there bud.” abby greeted, placing a tender kiss on his forehead. “where’s your mom?”
“i think in the laundry room. i told her not to mama!” kai tells her, trying to explain himself knowing the duty abby had given him to keep watch over you.
“your mom, i swear to god.” abby chuckled shaking her head affectionately before she stepped into the house, closing the door with her foot (something you often told her off about. did she listen? no.)
“babe?” abby called out as she approached the kitchen, setting kai on the floor then setting the groceries on the kitchen counter on the floor. “yeah?” you called back, emerging from the laundry room, a slight smile gracing your lips as you saw your wife and son standing in the kitchen.
"you're home early," you remarked, your eyes flickering between abby and kai. "everything okay?"
abby nodded, her gaze softening as she took in your appearance. "yeah, just finished up a bit earlier than expected," she replied, stepping closer to you. "how are you feeling? tired? in pain? nauseous?"
you couldn't help but chuckle at the concern in abby's voice. “i'm fine, babe, really," you assured her. "just a bit bored, that's all."
abby's brow furrowed slightly. "and you’re doing…laundry?" she mused, her lips quirking up into a playful smile.
“i’ve been banned from literally everything so…” you shrugged as you looked between kai and abby.
“a great decision on our part by the way.” abby replies crossing her arms over her chest and you could see her biceps through the fabric of her shirt, taking every sort of willpower within you not to drool over the sight.
“you sit down now mommy.” kai’s voice breaks your daze, as his hand grabs yours, pulling you towards the couch making you stumble a bit.
“i still have to finish with the laundry though.” you tell him softly.
“i’ll do it and dinner too.” abby chimes in shaking her head, kai still trying to pull you towards the couch as you anchor yourself to the floor.
“babe, seriously i can make dinne—“ you stop yourself short at the furrowed brows and look your wife gives you and all you can do is sigh and admit defeat.
“okay fine.” you relent before letting your son pull you towards the couch.
“you sit down here, mama.” kai pats the space on the couch and you take a seat on the couch before watching your son run over to your wife to help her cook dinner.
although having the two of them be borderline overprotective of you all the time, you couldn’t help but smile at your family and how much they care for you and the baby.

Passing Shadows | Leah Williamson
Tumblr media
Summary: You’re a nurse and your job gets a little too much so your fiancé, Leah, helps you do a different career.
Notes: this isn’t my favourite one-shot but it was too cute not to post. I also put a lot of work into it to scrap it <33
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Your footsteps echoed through the dimly lit hospital corridor. The night shift had been gruelling, and your eyes drooped with exhaustion. You longed for the warmth of your bed, the soft embrace of your pillow and Leah’s arms. As you pushed open the heavy exit door, you knew that Leah’s day was just beginning whilst yours was ending.
You were a nurse down at the local hospital in the emergency room. You mostly worked night shifts, they began at 8pm and ended at 8am. You were always rushed off your feet, you never knew what each day was going to be like.
Whilst you were running around, sorting medicines and scans out for patients, Leah was at home sleeping. Your life’s were far from the same.
You’d been with Leah for six years now, engaged for one and were soon hoping to start the IVF process at some point in the following year. You met Leah when you were a student nurse, you were twenty and Leah was twenty-one when you met.
You and your friends from university had decided to go out one night and that's how you’d met Leah. You were both tipsy and ended up hooking up that night, the next morning you woke up tangled together in the sheets. Ever since then you’d been inseparable. Things happened quickly and before you knew it you were dating and moved in together, you’d never looked back.
You got into your car and placed your bag on the passenger seat, you linked your phone to the car and played your music. You listened to your playlist, one Leah had made for you, as the sun rose above the road ahead of you.
When you arrived at your and Leah’s apartment you set your bag in the hallway, Leah’s football boots and bag were still there so you knew she was still at home.
Leah stood at the over, making you and her some breakfast. "Hey love," Leah smiled, leaving the oven and waking over to you. "Long night?"
You nodded, melting into Leah’s embrace as she pulled you into her chest. "The ER was chaotic, I’m so tired."
Leah's eyes softened. "You did so well, love. I missed you," she confessed, her fingers brushing against your side.
"I miss you too," you whispered. "More than I can say. I feel like we’re spending no time together at the moment.”
Leah's lips curved into a half-smile. "Maybe it’s time we do something about it," she suggested. “You’re burning yourself out, love.”
Your heart skipped a beat. You’d never expected Leah to say it out loud. You’d been dancing around your feelings for months. You knew deep down Leah was right and maybe it was time to do something about it.
You’d been a nurse for four years now and things were getting too much, you didn’t enjoy your job as much anymore. It was time for you to do something else.
Leah let go of you and walked over to the oven, she turned it off before coming back over and picking you up. As she lifted you effortlessly, you clung to her, your heart racing. The warmth of her body pressed against yours, you buried your face in the crook of her neck, inhaling her familiar scent—a mix of vanilla and other scents.
"Where are we going?" you asked, your voice muffled against her skin.
"To the couch," Leah replied softly. "We need to talk. Jonas has let me skip training today, I explained what’s happening, so don’t worry.”
She carried you across the small kitchen and settled you down on the worn-out cushions. The morning light streamed through the window, casting a soft glow on Leah's face. Her expression was serious, yet there was tenderness in her eyes.
"Love," she began, sitting beside you, "I've watched you pour your heart and soul into your work. You're an incredible nurse, but you're drowning. The long hours, the emotional toll, it’s taking a toll on you."
You nodded, tears threatening to spill. Leah understood you better than anyone. She'd been there during your late-night shifts, holding you when you came home exhausted, listening to your stories of life and death in the ER.
"I can't keep doing this," you admitted. "I need a change."
Leah's fingers traced patterns on your thigh. "What do you want, then? What would make you happy?"
The question hung in the air, heavy with possibility. You thought about the dreams you'd buried—the baking classes you'd abandoned, the travel plans postponed indefinitely. The desire to create, explore, and live beyond the hospital walls.
"I don’t know," you shrugged as Leah drew patterns on your knee, “I just want to be with you. I want us to go back to how we were.”
Leah's smile was soft and understanding. "You loved to bake when I met you, your cookies were out of this world.”
A soft laugh escaped past your lips, “I always dreamed of owning a bakery like my Nanna.
Growing up your Nanna Olive owned her very own bakery, it was called Olive’s Bakery and you used to spend your weekend there up until the age of sixteen. She passed a few months after you turned sixteen and even though you begged your parents to keep the bakery, they sold it. Your heart broke and since then your baking slowly stopped.
“You should open a bakery," She leaned in, brushing her lips against yours. "I’ll help you and I’m sure Beth, Viv, Katie, Jen and the other girls will too."
Her kiss was a promise—a promise of change, of love, of a future beyond the ER. And as you melted into her, you knew that this was the beginning of something beautiful.
You nodded, a smile written over your face now replacing the frown, “Owning a bakery would be better for when we start our own family.”
Leah giggled, “It would be,” she agreed, “wouldn’t have to worry about you and our baby all night long.”
“You’re such a stress-head, Mrs Williamson.” You laughed, cupping Leah’s face and pulling her closer to you.
She pecked your lips, “Can’t help it that I’m so in love with my wife, Mrs Williamson. Now let’s get you to bed, get you some rest.”
You didn’t protest when Leah scooped you up from the couch and carried you into your bedroom, instead you melted into her arms and let her take care of you. You let her pull back the sheets and tuck you in before crawling into bed beside you.
Just over a year later you were living your dream. A few days after that conversation with Leah you handed in your two week notice and left nursing behind you for good. After that you took a few months off and spent some well needed time with Leah and your families, you began to find yourself again.
You began the starting process to open your own bakery after you and Leah returned from your trip to Rome to celebrate your seven year anniversary together, one that wasn’t spent working for the first time in over four years. You viewed a couple buildings with Leah but nothing felt right until one night you were laid in bed and made a discovery.
“Leah!” You screamed, despite the blonde being sat beside you.
Leah jumped out of her own skin, “Jesus woman!” She laughed, “No need to shout, love. What's wrong?”
“I can’t believe this!” You grinned, staring down at your phone, “Nanna Olive’s old bakery building has come up for sale and I’ve just been asked if I want to buy it!”
Happy tears formed in your eyes as you flipped your phone round to Leah’s view, “This is literally perfect, Le!”
Leah leaned over and kissed you lips before wrapping her arm around your stomach, “Love that’s amazing! Are you going to buy it?”
You nodded, “Yeah I am, it’s fate.”
You placed an offer and less than 24 hours later it was accepted, you cried your eyes out when you found out. A week later you’d already started renovating the building, you tried your hardest to get it as close as possible to what it was like when you were a teenager with the help of Leah and the Arsenal girls.
Two months later and the bakery was finished, it looked and felt exactly like it did when you were sixteen despite it being ten years later. You began to figure out recipes and after many failed attempts you finally sorted a menu out, most of the baked goods came from the book of recipes your Nanna Olive had passed down from to you.
A month later and it was opening day. Opening day was a nerve racking experience for you, you just wanted to make everyone proud and you did just that. Leah and all of the Arsenal girls turned up for your opening day as well as all of your family and friends. Customers hurried in and out and six months later you were the go to bakery in town.
As you began to close down the bakery for the evening, the bell chimed above the door. You stopped wiping the counters and turned around to see Leah standing there. She had her football bag in her hand and a soft smile written over her face.
You rounded the counter and walked over to Leah, putting your arms around her neck. You brought her in for a kiss, “Hi my love, how was training?”
“It was good,” she pecked your lips as her hands trailed down your hips before finding your bump. “How are my girls?”
You were currently twenty three weeks pregnant with Leah and yours first child. A daughter to be precise.
“Our girl is doing just fine,” you whispered, your voice filled with love and anticipation. “She’s strong, hasn’t stopped kicking all day, reckon she’s going to be a footballer just like her Mumma.”
She chuckled, her breath warm against your cheek. “I can’t wait to meet her,” Leah smiled as she felt your daughter kick against her hand. “God, they are strong kicks!”
With the help of Leah, you finished closing down the bakery. You both ended up snacking on some leftover cookies and lemonade before making your way home.
As you laid in bed that night, Leah’s arms wrapped around you, she kissed your forehead, “I’m so proud of you y’know? What you’ve done over the past year is amazing.”
You smiled at her, “Thank you, love. I couldn’t have done it without you and everyone around us. If it wasn’t for that night I'd probably be stuck nursing still.”
And there, in the quiet darkness, you both drifted off to sleep. You fell asleep in Leah’s arms, something a year ago you would’ve yearned for all night long. Now you didn’t need to because you had the life you’d always dreamed of.

Replacement pt. 1
Tumblr media
Jessie Fleming x Reader (enemies to lovers)
Synopsis: Jessie transfers to your team in Portland, while everyone else seems to be thrilled about her transfer, you see the girl as a threat to your position and playing time with the team.
Warnings: cursing
WC: 2.4K (this is just set up, the other parts will be longer)
A/N: this is a LONG overdue series I started writing when Jessie first transferred to Portland, I just have had some serious writers block with it. But I’ve finally been able to get some of it down. It is enemies to lovers, so it will be rough and angsty at the start but give it some time :)
Everyone had seen the rumors flying around. You heard the whispers of your teammates at training yesterday afternoon after they had all seen the supposed transfer news. Just like any other fan or team, you all loved the speculation. Your teammates loved it even more when it surrounded bringing a big name on to your team for once instead of Gotham like everyone else. Janine and Christine spent most of their practice trying to dodge questions about their fellow Canadian teammate, not giving away any details of what they did or didn’t know.
You couldn’t lie, you often fed into the spectacle of transfer rumors, chatting with your team about where people might be headed. Something about this transfer rubbed you the wrong way. Maybe it was because you felt threatened. You were a midfielder as well. If you’re being honest with yourself, your first season in the league, fresh out of college, had not gone to plan.
Being drafted second you were expected to perform well, and the transition into the NWSL from the NCAA had been anything but smooth. You had a few minor injuries, a strain here and there, with the addition of a minor concussion. You ended up with an overall disappointing season. It wasn’t due to your lack of effort, you pushed yourself as hard if not harder than most players, it just hadn’t yet paid off.
Jessies arrival meant you’d likely be finding yourself sitting on the bench more and more often. They were bringing in someone who could actually help the team. They were bringing in your replacement in the form of an incredibly skilled and experienced midfielder.
You tried to remember that they were just rumors, she wasn’t confirmed to being transferring. What small hope you had was quickly diminished when you got the team message from staff asking that you all arrive to practice 20 minutes early for a “quick meeting”.
So when you walked into the meeting room, slouching in your seat next to Sam and Janine with a huff, they both turned to look at you. They had both taken you under their wing when you joined the team, being your first friends in Portland. They would come over when you were injured, helping take you to and from training, and helping you get acquainted with the city.
“Someone woke up on the wrong side of their bed, damn.” Janine looked at you with wide eyes. It was uncharacteristic behavior being so cranky, even with how poorly your season was last year, you were typically upbeat, trying to make your teammates laugh, keeping practice lighthearted.
“Shut it Beckie.” You muttered in her direction. Sam looked at you, wide eyes before slowly turning to face forward not wanting to get on your bad side. Your coach walking in shortly after, not giving Janine the chance to respond. You’re not sure she would have even had something to say as she just stared at you, mouth open at the fact that you had just talked back to her.
“Alright, quiet down everyone,” your coach held his hands up. “I’m sure everyone has already seen the rumors floating around our club. We hadn’t planned to announce it until she was actually here to introduce herself but as of a couple hours ago, we have officially agreed to terms with and will be welcoming another Canadian,” he shoots a look at Janine and Sinc, “Jessie Fleming will be joining us.” A couple of whoops and hollers scattered across the room. “She’ll be starting with us at practice in two days. I expect, as you all have with our other transfers and signings, that you welcome her to Portland.”
While the rest of the team seemed to be thrilled at the idea of Fleming joining the team, you dodged every conversation you could about her.
Thankfully training was short, with the season just beginning you were completing fitness testing, getting both benchmarks for the season and learning how well everyone had kept up with their fitness during the off season. After warming up, everyone ran the well known and well dreaded “beep test”. It may be dreaded to most, but as a midfielder you had some of the best cardio fitness. It was days like this where your confidence rose, feeling comfortable through the test, nothing to worry about except running.
By the end of the test, you were one of the only players still running, your lungs were burning with each breath you took, the lactic acid building up in your thighs and calves. You finally dropped to your knees, unable to run any further. You found yourself kneeling next to Janine before rolling over to sit. Placing your head between your knees you breathed, listening to your teammates around you also panting, some coughing, some cursing the test for existing. You laid back fully putting up one leg straight in the air. A smile crept across your face, something about the burning of your lungs and your legs nearly cramping felt so good, a small reminder of your hard work.
“You mind helping me stretch?” Reaching out an arm you smack Janine next to you. Easily convinced, she stands up moving over to you placing herself to hold the foot in the air. She gently begins to press it toward your chest, your hamstring straining as she pushes your leg further.
“You’re fucking crazy for smiling after that test.” Janine rolling her eyes at you, a small cough coming out after as she can still feel her lungs burning. “I can’t believe I’m going to have to deal with two of you now.”
“What does that mean? Two of us?” You send her a pointed look before laying back letting your head fall back against the grass. Janine drops your leg, grabbing the other one before repeating the stretching motion.
“It means, I’ll now have to deal with you and Jessie running circles around me and the rest of this team. Literally circles.” She huffs.
“Right.” You felt the smile drop from your face, you had been able to forget about your replacement’s arrival. Janine noticed instantaneous change in your emotions at the mention of Jessie. She made a mental note to check in with you later, not while you were still on the sidelines of the pitch with the entire team.
Once everyone cooled down from the test, you stretched more, before heading into the locker room. You grab a protein bar and electrolytes from the shelf before hopping into the ice bath. Janine follows you, hopping in as well, making a comment about how cold it was as she shivers.
“Hey, I know we usually go for coffee after practice. We can still do that, it's just that I had offered to help Jessie unpack. She got in last night and didn’t really get settled. I’m supposed to meet her at her new place in about an hour, so I won't be able to stay for too long. It’ll have to be more of a grab and go kind of thing.” Janine looks at you, you both standing in the ice cold water, your shirts held up to avoid getting them wet.
Part of you is annoyed at her. You two always grabbed coffee, it was an unspoken activity, occasionally another teammate or two tagging along. You two would get coffee, you’d vent to each other, chat about the tv shows you were watching, Janine would talk about her wedding. It was something Janine started with you when you were new to the team, she was doing it to make you feel comfortable at the start and it quickly developed into a genuine friendship. Now Jessie was going to replace you at work and in Janine’s life too.
“Just go to hers, it's all good. We can skip this week.” You try not to sound upset, already feeling replaced by Jessie’s arrival in the form of losing your coffee “date”.
“Sorry, I would have said something sooner but with the transfer not public yet, I just didn’t want to get her in trouble or anything.” She pauses for a moment. “Actually, why don't you come with me to Jessie’s? I really think you two will get on well, plus it’ll be a good way to introduce you two.”
“Oh, no, I wouldn't want to just show up, I mean I don't know her and unpacking her stuff would be a little personal, it just probably isn't the best time for me to meet her.” Coming up with the best excuse you could come up with without flat out telling Janine that you don't want to meet one of her favorite people. You had heard plenty about Jessie before from Janine, only before it didn’t bother you. Before it was just hearing about one of Janine’s best friends, now it had a different sting when she was brought up. Now she was talking about the girl coming to take your spot.
“Alright, well I’m still grabbing coffee because I thought we’d be going and I promised Jessie I’d bring her one. Come with me at least then we can split?” You know Janine has zero negative intentions, she still was trying to have your usual coffee while also being an incredible friend and going to help Jessie move in.
“Fine, twist my arm.” You add sarcasm into your sentence, it wasn’t too hard to get you to go get a coffee, it was one of your favorite drinks, you spent way to much time and money on it, even having your own espresso machine at home with a bean grinder and all. Janine always joked that you could just run your own coffee shop out of your apartment for extra money.
You get to the coffee shop, when you walk in the barista gives you a wave, you and Janine were frequent visitors, the baristas all knew you and your orders.
“Are we getting the usual ladies?” The girl behind the counter asks, already starting to punch in the order on her screen.
“I am, but can we get them to-go, thank you.” You tell her. She puts in the order for your cold brew with caramel foam.
“I am, but I’m also going to add another drink, can I just get a latte with the lavender syrup please.”
On a normal day, if you weren’t in such an upset and negative mood you would’ve mocking the way Janine says syrup, but you don’t. You also mentally gag at the coffee she ordered for Jessie, lavender tasted like old lady soap. You mentally added it to the list of reasons to avoid the new transfer. It was childish what you were doing but you didn’t care.
You reach to get your card out, Janine beats you to it tapping her card on the register. “Janine, no.” It was your turn to pay, the two of you alternated.
“Please it’s the least I can do given I’m ditching you today.” She shoots you a sympathetic look.
“Alright.” You rolls your eyes at her as you hear your name called from the other end of the counter where your drink was placed.
You grab your drink and turn to walk out of the shop. The shop wasn’t too far from your apartment, a couple of blocks, and you figured you could walk so Janine didn’t have to drop you off at your house before heading to Jessie’s.
“Hey, where are you running off to, I’ll drive you.”
“Oh, no I’m good, I don’t want to make your trip longer.” You also had enough social interaction for today, a short walk alone wouldn’t be the worst thing.
“Well Jessie’s new place is just across the street from yours, so I’ll be going that way anyway.”
Of course Jessie moved in right across the street, out of all the apartment buildings in Portland of course she found herself the closest one, besides literally being in your building.
Janine grabs hers and Jessie’s drinks and you both walk back to her car. The two of you chat again, complaining about the weather and how it couldn’t make up its mind if it’s was winter or spring yet. You both coo over a dog walking down the street and for a second the conversation is light, it feels normal again. Until Janine brings up Jessie again.
“Hey, would you mind if I give Jess your number? I just figured I’d maybe be nice, you guys live across the street from each other, if she needed anything while she’s still moving in, store or food recommendations, you could help.”
You wanted to say no. But the girl was going to end up with your number anyway, you had to be teammates, you’d have to be cordial with her, you couldn’t let your own pride be a problem for the team.
“Yeah, that’s fine I guess.” Your mood deflated, the words coming out of your mouth with a heavy sigh at the end, making it obvious you weren’t thrilled about the suggestion for her to have your number.
“Are you alright? You’ve seemed weird all day. Is it because of Jessie?”
“Why would it be because of her?” You ask, knowing damn well that your behavior was exactly her fault.
“I don’t know, just when she gets brought up, you seem to get annoyed.”
“No I don’t.” Your answer is quick, you get defensive. Unfortunately your defensive behavior likely tells Janine that it is in fact Jessie who’s on your nerves.
“Oh, I know what it is!” She slaps her hand over to your thigh, giving you a small smack.
“What?”
“You’re worried I’m going to start doing things with Jessie instead of you! You’re jealous!” Her tone is playful, she’s teasing you.
“I’m not jealous.” You cross your arms in the passenger seat, pouring like a toddler.
“Good, but if you were, you have no reason to be, yes she’s my friend, but so are you, our coffee dates will still go on, we’ll still hang out, you have nothing to worry about.”
“I wasn’t worried.” You say as Janine pulls up in front of your building. You climb out of the car, thanking her for the ride.
“You’re welcome, I'll always love you, she’ll never come between us!” She yells out the window making a slightly embarrassing scene, bypassers not knowing the joke she’s making. You turn back, shaking your head at her as you laugh.
“Love ya Janine, bye.” You wave at her and enter your building.
You get inside and go about the rest of your day, laundry, cleaning, a rather mundane but somewhat relaxing evening.
It’s when you’re crawling into bed that you receive two messages from an unknown number.
Unknown: Hi, this is Jessie, Janine gave me your number. She said you lived in the area.
Unknown: Sorry, Jessie Fleming, I should’ve clarified. Don’t feel obligated to text me, just Janine insisted I reach out.
You ignore the messages, you have a quick thought of blocking her number, but you know that’s not realistic. You’d have to see her in a few days and be her teammate you can’t block her phone. At least the girl gave you the permission to ignore her.
So that’s what you did. You closed your phone, putting it on silent and snuggled into bed, putting on whatever was showing on National Geographic at this hour and falling asleep shortly after.

“Yeah? You want me to do that for you? You’ll have to pay me, since you, yknow are technically soliciting me.” He glances over at you, plopping down on your bed.
“Satoru.” You sighed. “Please take this seriously.” He had asked to help with your “problem” in the first place and now he was pretending like you were pushing him to do something?? Ridiculous. “Do you not want to help me? I can live it’s not the end of the world if I don’t cum-“
“Come sit on my lap, pretty girl.” He leaned backwards a little from his spot in your bed, spreading his legs for you making the perfect spot for you to sit in between before patting his lap.
“Satoru…” You say hesitantly not moving from your spot.
“If you want me to help you come here, if not just tell me you aren’t up for it and I’ll leave.” He smirked. “No strings attached, no hard feelings.”
At the end of the day, he was an attractive man offering to help you get off, what’s the worst thing that could happen? You’ve known him since middle school, but were way less close now with your adult lives and jobs to take care of. I mean if it got weird you could afford to avoid him, right? He was only in town for a little while after all, probably.
“Come on pretty make your choice.” He clicked his tongue, leaning back further, legs spreading wider.
You shuffle over to his spot on the bed and sit on his lap, with his chest to your back. Sealing your choice of getting fingered by one of your oldest friends.
“Good girl.” He purrs into your ear. “I wouldn’t of been heartbroken if you didn’t want to, but I can’t lie and say I haven’t wanted to see this pretty pussy for years, baby”
“Silver-tongued bastard..” You muttered leaning your face away from his.
“Yeah?” He said smugly and grabbed your chin turning it around to his face. “Don’t pretend you don’t want this silver-tongued bastards fingers in your pussy.”
“W-well then get to it already…” You huff. Pulling away from his grasp on your chin and looking away from him once more.
“Alright alright, don’t mind if I do babe.” He drawled. He began bringing his long fingers gently up your thighs and rubbing circles into them. He then bunched up the skirt you were wearing to get a better view of you.
“Wow, you’ve been holding out on me babe. I can see your pussy perfectly through your panties up here.” He laughed, before cupping your heat.
He ran a finger up your slit, slowly teasing your hole, but never touching your clit. “You’re so wet all f‘me huh?” He says deeply near your ear, before barely grazing against your clit.
“Satoruuu.” You whine. “Please touch me…”
“Where do you want me to touch you?” He inquires, while still rubbing your slit lightly. “I mean, I am touching you right now.”
“My clit Satoru my clit-“ You get cut off with a moan as he finally brings his hand under your underwear to swirl his ring finger around your bud.
“Aww does that feel good?” He says sadistically while he begins to rub your clit faster, using his other hand to tease penetrating you with his fingers. “You want a finger too?”
“Y-yes please Satoru, please.” You groan at the thought.
“Only since you’re so ready to cum for me….” He enters one of his long fingers into your pumping it in and out slowly while he whispers praises into your ear. He begins using the other hand to tease your clit faster while he enters another finger into you. He curls his fingers in you and they hit a spot your fingers could never hit.
“Is it too much? Come on… I want you to cum for me…” He whines, picking up the speed of his fingers in you. “Please baby… be good for me…” He spits from behind you, a warm glob landing on your clit as he begins to rub it faster.
You can’t take anymore your mind has been made dumb by his fingers.
“S-satoru I’m g-gonna…” you try to get out, as your back arches against him.
“That’s it baby… let go…” He says as he kisses your neck slowly. Caressing you.
You cum. Harder than you ever have. And it was from Satoru fucking Gojo. He nibbles on your ear and tells you how good you are as you come down from the white hot pleasure he had just given you.
“You owe me 35$.” He deadpans.
“Get the fuck out.” You get up as begin to push him out the door, with an obvious hard on.
“Come onn~ I was just joking….“ He giggles.
“Yeah, fuck you.”
“Yeah, I know you want to babe.”
“You wish.” You say as you finally push him out the door.

Tumblr media
FLASHBACK: 1 YEAR AGO
“Is this yours?”
You had been rummaging through Paige’s closet, looking for a clean oversized shirt to wear to sleep. You two often slept over at each other’s place, to the point where your clothes were so mixed up you guys basically shared the same wardrobe. Unfortunately, Paige wasn’t the most organized person, so you were huffing and puffing as you hunted through the piles in the drawers.
The shirt you were holding up had LVN Volleyball Camp splayed across the front, so you knew it definitely wasn’t Paige’s. It was really big though, so you were curious as to whose it was. Just to know if you could wear it or not, you convinced yourself. Not because you were trying to confirm your fears - that this was another girl who Paige had held that wasn’t you.
Paige didn’t look up from her phone when you asked your question, so you crumpled the shirt up into a ball and tossed it at her head. You were no basketball player, but the balled up shirt smacked her on target, right in the face, and you fought back a self satisfied smile.
Paige finally looked up, giving you one of her soft smiles that tugged at your heartstrings. You loved when Paige looked at you like that, all gentle and affectionate, with half of her mouth turned up into a close mouthed grin that you knew so well.
“The shirt,” you gestured at it.
“Oh.” She looked down, unfolding the shirt and studying it before giving out a laugh. “Shit, sorry, that’s Stacy’s. I don’t know how it ended up in my closet. She was just here yesterday.” She folded the shirt into a neat little square and placed it next to her on the bed. “We must’ve been getting a little bit too wild,” she smirked, waggling her eyebrows at me.
Your heart sunk. Yesterday? You mean, you knew Paige talked to a lot of people, but she usually didn’t talk much about it, probably because she knows you get grossed out with too many details. Your chest stinging, you went to sit on the bed next to her. You didn’t wanna find a shirt anymore. All you wanted to do was go to sleep after a long day.
“What’s up? What’s got you being so emo?” Paige got down to lie her head in your lap, looking up at you with her bright blue eyes. Her was nose scrunched slightly, in the way that she does when she’s happy, and she reached up to play with the ends of your hair, twirling the strands between her fingers.
“Nothing. Just tired and moody,” you lied. You drummed your fingers against your thigh.
Paige smirked. “You really need to get laid, Y/N,” she laughed.
You managed to muster out a weak half smile in response to her words, trying to shove down the itchy pain that rose in your heart. “Shut up, Bueckers.”
“Make me.”
You rolled my eyes at her senseless teasing. “You’re such a flirt,” you groaned. Pushing her off your lap, you got up to look for your charger. You could feel Paige’s eyes on you as you moved about her room. Her legs were splayed out, and she was slumped on the bed. You hated when she did that, just looked at you. It felt like she was studying you all bare under a microscope.
The dynamic between the two of you had definitely shifted since last month, ever the drunken incident on the Big East championship night. You had mumbled apologies the morning after, when she had swung by before practice to make sure you were alright. She didn’t really listen to them, shoving you in that good natured way and assuring you that you guys were “chill like that” and that she could never be really mad at you.
But ever since then, there’d been a tension between the two of you. It spiked in moments like this, where she would start shamelessly flirting with you, trying to get a rise out of you. You didn’t mind much, per se, until you really thought about it and realized there was no meaning behind her flirting. But that was a disappointing reality you were trying to ignore.
“Come back to bed,” Paige called out. This time, you couldn’t tell if she’d meant for it to sound so sexual, but you crawled back into the bed where Paige was bundled up under the sheets.
“You look like a kid,” you giggled, “all wrapped up like a burrito.”
Paige rolled her eyes, a small smile playing at her lips. You felt her grab your waist and pull you closer so now you were both under the mountain of blankets and pillows she had formed. “You’re so warm,” she mumbled sleepily, pressing her forehead against your shoulder.
Both of you knew this was not how normal best friends slept together have a sleepover. But neither of you cared. This was where you felt most comfortable in the world, with Paige’s arm slung across your chest and one of her legs intertwined between yours. Her face was buried in your neck now, and her hair tickled your cheeks.
You could get used to this forever, you thought as you went to sleep.
——————————
Your heart thrummed with anticipation. Today was the day UConn would face off against Louisville in the Final Four of March Madness. You missed Paige; the last time you saw her was when you slept over two days ago. Ever since then, she’d be busy, understandably so. Basketball was her life, and she dedicated all of herself to the sport in times of competition like this.
Paige had gotten you a court-side ticket using one of the family spots allotted to her. Only her dad, step-mom, and Drew could make it to the game; her mom’s side of the family were on a vacation in Spain. On one side of you was Drew, who was happily bouncing in his seat, wearing one of his sister’s jerseys that was adorably big for him, and on the other side was Kayla, who’d gotten this game off but still wanted to watch anyways to support the girls.
As you watched the game, you oscillated between moments of pure joy and happiness when Paige sunk one of her 3s, moments of anger when one of the girls got fouled on without getting any calls for it, and moments of uncertainty when Louisville scored another point and the UConn girls tried to fight off their dejection from showing on their faces.
But you started to stay in the realm of uncertainty once Louisville started gaining, leading by 12 at the end of the third quarter.
“Are they gonna lose, Y/N?” Drew turned to you with a hopeful look in his eyes. You swallowed the knot in your throat. Basketball was everything to this team, and they’d worked so hard to get here. They didn’t deserve to lose, not when they were this close to the national championship.
“I hope not, buddy,” you responded quietly, and ruffled his hair. For the last quarter, Drew gripped your hand, swinging his legs anxiously as the game unfolded.
Despite the team’s best efforts, UConn fell to Louisville, 75-66, and the girls walked off the court, pain fresh in their eyes, their necks steeped with sweat and jerseys sticking damp to their chest. They moved tiredly, some of them being collected for brief post-game interviews while all of the others headed back to the locker rooms.
You made eye contact with Paige, and she pursed her lips, shaking her head sadly before slinging a towel around her neck and following the rest of the girls out.
“She looks so sad,” Drew’s voice was quiet next to you. You could tell he was upset too.
“It’s okay, buddy,” you assured him. “You know what? I bet they’re still selling the pretzels outside. Wanna come with me and see if they have any more churro bites?” Drew’s face lit up at that, and he eagerly shot up from his seat and grabbed your hand.
Paige’s dad, Bob, shot you a grateful smile. “We’ll find Paige, talk to her. You guys join us after, alright?”
You nodded, leading Drew out. To your luck, the pretzel stand had one more scoop of churro bites left that the man gave to you for free since they were closing down.
“Good, Drew?” You reached around him and stole one of the churro bites, popping one in your mouth.
“Y/N!” He groaned, sending me a fake glare. “Now you owe me.”
“I brought you all the way over here for pretzels and I owe you?” You gasped in offense, folding your arms and sending him a fake glare back.
He nodded solemnly. “Yeah. Now you owe me a piggy back ride.”
You laughed. “Okay, hop on,” you agreed, bending down. Drew cheered and jumped on your back, causing you to stumble forward. Both of you giggled as you straightened yourself, and you carried Drew all the way down to the locker rooms.
A security guard stood in the entrance to the hall of the locker rooms, a bored look in his eyes. As you tried to pass, he raised a hand. “Sorry miss,” he stated in a monotonous voice. “Players only.”
“It’s alright, she’s with me,” a voice called out. You looked up to see Paige at the end of the hall, her hair wet and tied up in a loose bun. Even after having just played a tough game, she looked unbelievably gorgeous, her cheeks rosy from the exertment from earlier.
“Paigey!” Drew clambered off my back and barreled into Paige, squeezing his little arms around her waist. Paige, ever the big sister, managed to push aside her feelings from the Final Four loss and look happy for Drew, whom she hadn’t seen in months.
“Hey, bud,” she said quietly, bending down to give him a proper hug. “I missed you.”
They talked in low tones for a moment, Paige smiling fondly at her little brother, before Azzi came along from the locker rooms and stole Drew away to meet the other girls.
Now it was just you and Paige in the hall. She stood up, and you moved to her. Before you knew it, she was in your arms, hugging you so tight you could barely breathe. You wrapped your arms around her, one hand coming up to play with the baby hairs at the nape of her neck, an effort to do whatever possible to comfort her.
“Hey,” you turned your head so your mouth was next to her ear. You whispered in her ear gently, “It’s not your fault.”
Paige drew back, her eyes glassy. Breathing shakily, she said, “All those 3s that I missed. Geno was counting on me. He said I had to step up since Azzi was injured, but I didn’t step up. I missed so many.”
I gripped her waist. “Look at me,” I said firmly. When she looked up to made eye contact, I brought my hands up to hold her face so that she couldn’t look away. “What about all the points that you did make? And all the plays you set up for your teammates? I don’t know much basketball, but I watched you out there, and you played with so much fierceness and grit. You played so goddamn good. Don’t be ashamed. At all.”
Paige reluctantly nodded, before pulling me into another hug. We stood there silently, her face buried in my neck and my arms hooked around her waist, until one of the UConn team assistants came bounding the hall.
“Uh,” he scratched his neck nervously as his eyes flitted between the two of us. “Sorry to interrupt, but it’s time for Paige to do press.”
Paige groaned. She stepped back, separating our bodies. “Come over later?” She whispered. “Please?” Her eyes searched mine, all hopeful. She was hurting, and hurting bad.
“Of course, P.” I squeezed her hand before stepping back too, letting the assistant shuffle her away to the press hall.

Team Bonding Night
Part 5 - Fire on Fire Series A/N: I do have up to chapter 14ish of this pre-planned however if anyone has anything they might want to see in it please let me know and I will try to include it in here somewhere, if I don't already have it included.
Tumblr media
Tonight was team bonding night and you decided that you would start the year right and offer to hold the first team bonding of the year. Stina and Frida came over and helped you set up. It was decided there would be a few games of pool before a movie. As all the girls arrived there were plenty of comments about how fancy your place was and how your parents must be rich, they were all light hearted and really just jokes but unbeknownst to everyone they all hit a nerve, but you had prepared for this and so you just ignored it, knowing that the girls meant nothing.
You had just performed the break shot for the last game of the night when Leah came up behind you, wrapping her arms around your waist as she rested her chin on your shoulder. You were almost expecting a comment from someone or even at least a look from Beth, who kept teasing you about ‘your very close friendship with Leah’, at Leah’s actions however no one batted an eyelid. But it was most likely because Leah was known for her hugs and hugging people, so much so that it didn’t even surprise you when she did it.
“Hello,” you said as she turned her head so it rested on your shoulder, “as much as I appreciate this it’s almost my turn again,” you informed her, she just hummed before letting you go.
The pool game was coming to an end, with Katie and Caitlin having two remaining balls to sink whilst you and Steph were now trying to sink the 8-ball, so Stina decided to start setting up for the movie, opening the door to the gym to get the bean bags.
“Holy Crap, how do you have so many trophies and medals?” Alessia let out, announcing the fact to the whole team, causing you to wish that you could just vanish right there and then, not even thinking about the fact everyone would see them, whilst you were getting ready, to be fair Alessia wasn’t over reacting, you had a large amount of Trophies. With at least one trophy for every football season, and at least two medals per season, plus an assortment of Track & Field and Cross Country trophies and medals, the collection grew pretty quickly.
“Where are they all from?” Kyra asked in awe, “Well school gave us them, if you scored the most goals, and then each season we got medals, and all the cross country and Track ones are school, and then obviously club football too,”
“You got medals and trophies for sport? Like regularly,” “Yeah, at awards nights, we got them for academic stuff too,”
“See that’s what happens when you go to a School like Melbourne Grammar, you’ve got to sit through the several hours long assemblies regularly.” Steph joked, it was something you always complained about to her.
“Isn’t Melbourne Grammar Expensive? Wait but is it true that your parents are also totally rich?” Katie asked, you just slightly nodded as you saw Leah’s eye widen from across the room at the mention of your parents, thankfully Beth diverted the conversation without anyone returning to the topic.
______
You were sitting on the couch next to Leah as you all watched a movie. At some point Leah’s arm migrated to be around your back with her hand resting on your waist and you had dropped your head to rest on her shoulder.
“You must’ve had a good childhood,” Katie said as she looked around at the photos of you on the wall, you grinning in almost every single one, your Aunt’s by your side for a lot of them. However you hadn’t noticed she was looking at the photos and you thought that she was still on about the whole money thing, but not wanting to make a big deal you didn’t want to say much, so you settled with a simple “sure,” sounding a little annoyed.
“Oh did you never get a pony,” her joke sent you over the edge and so you snapped, you felt Leah’s hand grip onto your wrist as you stood up encouraging you not to do so, but you just ripped your arm from her grip.
“No Katie. I got a Pony. I’m just an embarrassment to the family according to my parents. I was told that football didn't matter, that the thing I was best at and loved was pointless and never going to happen as the family reputation needed to be upheld. I missed my first ever national camp, because I wasn't allowed to go, because it would’ve meant I would miss too much school, and CEOs, CFOs, doctors, professors or board members don’t take days off school. I have never made my parents proud, the more milestones I reach in my career, the more successful I am the more I become a failure to them. So yes, I did have money, and I thankfully had two very kind hearted women who made up for the fact I didn’t have parents, but my life wasn’t and will never be pure rainbows and sunshine,” you felt tears well up in your eyes as you suddenly realised you had just revealed a major part of your past to not just Katie but the whole team, you felt all eyes in the room on you, you couldn’t stay, you felt like the dam would break soon and you couldn’t embarrass yourself further in front of the team, so you got up, you left the room and headed towards the stairs, not knowing what else to do.
You slid down the wall of the spare bedroom upstairs as you dropped your head, holding it in your hands as you began to cry.
Stina had followed you and she quickly came to sit by your side, pulling you into her side.
“I can’t believe I did that, I just, jag bara. Jag tänkte inte och nu vet de alla. Tänk om-” (I just. I didn’t think and now they all know. What if-)
“Y/N/N andetag, ta några djupa andetag” (breath, take some deep breaths), Stina instructed you as she placed her hands on your shoulders, shifting to be kneeling in front of you.
A light knock was heard from the door and Beth and Steph popped their heads around the corner, “Oh sorry, we just thought you might want some water,” Stina nodded her head and they came in, placing the water on the floor next to you.
“Tack,” (thank you) you replied forgetting you weren’t talking to Stina anymore, “Sorry, thank you,” both women nodded and smiled before turning around to head out.
“Will Katie hate me now?” you ask no one specifically, causing the two women to turn around again.
“Y/N, no she won't, if anything I think she feels bad and is worried you won’t like her anymore.” Beth said and you nodded softly.
“Is everyone still downstairs?” You questioned, “No, Leah is letting them all out,” Steph told you nodded as you relaxed a little again, “I should probably go, Kyra will be waiting for me,” “yeah, Viv will be waiting for me,” “I think I’m taking Frida home, unless you want us to stay,” “No, its okay, I should go see if Leah is still here and apologise to her,” as you walked down the stairs you saw Leah standing in the middle of the living room fiddling with her wrist, you walked up to her.
“I’m sorry, did I hurt you?” You asked and she wrapped her arms around you, to give you a hug.
“No, it’s okay, you didn’t, but I’m sorry for not letting you speak up, I know she was only joking but it still wasn't right.” she said as she tried to pull back, “as much as I would love to stay and talk I think Lia is waiting for me in the car,” you let go of the hug as your mood slightly dropped “oh,” you said taking a step back, “come over for breakfast tomorrow?” “of course” she replied smiling and you returned the smile before she let herself out.
“So,” Steph said as she walked into the room, “That was,” Beth followed, dragging out as she couldn’t find the right word, “Palpable,” Stina said, assisting Beth.
“Please don’t I’ve already told you we’re just friends,”
“Okay,” they all replied with a raised eyebrow before hugging you and saying their goodbyes.
_______
You were sitting at the kitchen island next to Leah as you ate breakfast when the doorbell rang.
“Oh, I’ll go get that, don’t you dare eat any more of my food,” you looked at her and she smirked, “Leah, don’t,” you instructed her again as you opened the door.
“Oh Katie, hi,” your words were enough for Leah to get up out of her chair and come over to where you were at the door.
“Erm, hi,” the Irish woman said, “I just wanted to apologise for last night, I erm, I shouldn’t hav-” “It’s okay Katie, you couldn’t have known and I’m sorry for snapping at you, I, well some stuff is going on with my family, more my parents currently, so it’s just something that is currently a sensitive topic, usually it doesn’t bug me,” you cut her off, “Erm, okay yeah, sorry,” she said still kind of awkwardly, “It’s okay,” you reminded her as you pulled her in for a hug, “you’re welcome to join us for breakfast if you want.”
Katie took you up on your offer and so you, Leah and her all had breakfast together before driving to training.

The Letter Pairing: Eddie Munson x You Summary: Evil Woman gets a letter in the mail and says it's not a big deal… but to Eddie Munson, it's a very big deal. Contains: A misunderstanding, a dumb boy, a happy ending. Words: 1.4k
Tumblr media
Eddie knocks twice, just to announce himself, before letting himself inside your house. "You don't have to knock, Eddie, you basically live here," they'd all told him several times, but he still felt like they deserved a warning.
Her mom has pulled a chair from the kitchen table closer to the phone mounted on the wall. She smiles and waves at him, gesturing for him to go on to the bedroom where his other half is probably getting ready for their favorite kind of date: Markdown Day at Tape World. They'd raid the clearance bin for new cassettes, then stop by the pretzel place for their usual. He'd get something salty, she'd get something sweet, and they'd split both and wash it down with a shared pop. Perfect.
"Yeah, the letter came earlier this week. She's playing it cool, but I think she's excited. She'll fit right in at Penn."
Eddie feels his blood run cold.
Of course the child of two college graduates is going to college. The thought had crossed his mind a few times, but he was always able to distract himself and banish it. But now…
His feet carry him to her bedroom while his brain spirals.
"Hey! Ready in a sec, just let me finish… oh, fuck it." She slams her textbook shut and tosses it from her place on the bed to the backpack by her desk. She rolls her eyes when it misses, then gets up to shove it into her backpack. She may not be getting a basketball scholarship, but of course she's college-bound.
She could have a real life. A future. A career. She could do anything. Hell, she'd taught him things in a week that the teachers of Hawkins High had been trying to beat into him for years. She's a fucking miracle-worker. Why would she stick around a shitty little town like this? For someone like him?
"Priorities," she smirks, wrapping her arms around his neck. She's so fucking beautiful. How is he gonna keep existing when she's not here? "You okay?" she asks, tucking a wayward strand of hair behind his ear. "You look paler than usual."
He closes his eyes and nods. She feels his forehead. If she cared so much, why would she leave him? "You sure?"
"I'm fine. Just tired," he lies. He misses her already. "Ready?"
She kisses the tip of his nose, and he tries not to cry.
"Let's blow this popsicle stand," she grins, grabbing a jacket.
Eddie forces a smile and feels his heart breaking.
*~One Week Later~*
"Switch those two paragraphs around, and I think you're good," you note, passing Eddie his essay back. You're sitting beside him at your kitchen table. Your brother is making a sandwich at the counter. It's the picture of domestic bliss.
"Thanks," Eddie mumbles, sticking the paper back in his English folder.
"We still on for Tape World tonight?" you ask hopefully. Maybe a good deal on some new music would perk him up. God knows he needs it.
"Dunno," Eddie mumbles without looking up, "got a lotta campaign stuff to work on."
"It's Markdown Day," you remind him.
He shrugs and starts gathering his stuff.
"Alright, what's your problem?" You snap the book in front of you shut, making your brother jump instead of Eddie. Oops.
"No problem," he lies, still not looking at you.
"Bullshit. You've been going back and forth between clingy and distant all week. What's your fucking problem, Munson?"
"I don't have a fucking problem," he spits as he starts shoving stuff into his backpack.
"Kay, this was fun, but I've gotta go do literally anything else!" your bother announces loudly as he scampers back to his room with his hastily-made sandwich, leaving his PB&J supplies open on the counter. Like he was raised in a barn.
You wait until you hear his bedroom door slam before you continue your attack on Eddie, who has run out of room in his backpack. (Your lunchbox, Eddie. You shoved your lunchbox in there.)
You put your hand on a folder and slide it toward you, out of his reach. He glares.
"Talk to me."
"I am," he says defiantly.
You consider beating him to death with his math folder.
"Give it," he orders, reaching out a hand for his folder.
You slide it further away from him, daring him to come get it.
"Or don't, I don't fucking care, I'm just gonna fail again anyway." He drops his overstuffed backpack on the floor and stomps toward the door.
"Eddie!" you call in shock. You stand as if you're going to physically stop him from leaving, but your feet don't want to move.
He gets to the kitchen door and puts his hand on the knob, but doesn't turn it.
"When were you planning on telling me about getting into college?"
"What?"
"I heard your mom on the phone, talking about your acceptance letter," he says to the door.
"Oh."
"Oh?" He turns around with an accusatory glare.
"I didn't think it was that big a deal," you shrug. And it wasn't... to you. You knew he was sensitive about the subject. He visibly bristled when anyone mentioned the c-word. You planned on breaking the news to him after graduation. One thing at a time. And right now, getting a high school diploma in Eddie Munson's hand was the only thing that mattered to you.
"Of course you wouldn't think getting into college is that big a deal."
"Eddie, I didn't mean it like that," you say gently.
"I guess moving a few hundred miles away from me isn't that big a deal either."
"What?"
"Don't play dumb, alright? I know you're going to Pennsylvania, where you won't have some dumb loser townie holding you back. Your mom seemed real happy about it."
Pennsylvania? You're going to… you connect the dots, and a laugh escapes you. You clamp your hand over your mouth.
His eyes fill with tears. "Yeah, it's gonna be real fuckin' funny when the love of my life runs off and forgets about me, just like everybody else did as soon as they graduated." This boy is giving you emotional whiplash. He turns around and reaches for the doorknob again.
This time, your feet cooperate. You rush over and wrap your arms around him from behind before he can get the door halfway open, and he tenses. You can feel his sides shaking. He's trying not to cry.
"That's not gonna happen."
"Bullshit." His voice cracks.
"Eddie, that's not gonna happen to us. Look at me."
He takes a shuddering breath and turns around, but keeps his eyes on the ceiling as he tries to blink back tears. You go in for a hug anyway. He resists for a second, but soon gives in and wraps his arms around you.
"I love you," you say into his neck.
Silence.
You thump him on the back. "Say it back."
"I love you, too," he mumbles.
"Do you trust me?"
He pulls back and looks at you with his big wet eyes and nods. You cup his face, kiss him on the tip of his nose, and smile. "Come with me. I gotta show you something."
"What?"
"Just come on," you grin. "Let's go for a little drive."
You scribble a note for your brother, in case he dares to venture out of the safety of his cave before you get back, and lead Eddie to the car.
Nineteen silent minutes later, you pull into a parking lot, find a space, and turn off the engine.
Eddie looks around quizzically at the parked cars, the people rushing by, and the bodies lounging on the grass. Then he looks to you.
"Where are we, Eddie?"
"Isn't this where your mom works?"
"Yeah. But where are we?"
He stares at you blankly. He's lucky he's pretty, because he is so damn dumb. You've never loved anyone more.
"C'mon," you smile, getting out of the car and waiting for him on the sidewalk. He watches you from the passenger's seat for a moment, until curiosity gets the better of him. You wait patiently, then hold out your hand when he approaches. When he takes it, you lead him toward the main building, where your point will be easier to make.
You stop and point at the massive stone sign. "What's that say?"
He huffs out an annoyed breath and reads, "Pennhurst Coll… oh." You see the realization dawn on his face, soon accompanied by a blush. "I'm an idiot."
"You're my idiot," you grin, pulling him close. "And I'm not going anywhere without you."
Tumblr media
A Note From Wheels: Honestly can't remember if I've ever mentioned it, but in my mind, Evil Woman's mom has always been a college professor. 😂 EW will be attending Pennhurst because it's cheap (well, free, since Mom's got the hookup) and close to Eddie. 🥰 I'd imagine Pennhurst is not a very prestigious university, so Mom could probably get Eddie in if he wanted to go. (He absolutely does not.)

Carlo: Papi, can I have some money for a sandwich? Kaden: From where? Carlo: That stall over there. Kaden: We’ll eat on the way home. Anita: Can I have some for a goldfish? Kaden: Wha-.. from where? Anita: There’s a fish shop down that ramp. Kaden: [sighs] You can look. Anita: Pfft. Kaden: Pardon? Anita: Nothing!
Tumblr media
Kaden: You’ve got kids, right? Oscar: Uh-huh. Kaden: Just the one? Oscar: Four. Kaden: So, you understand-.. I have five myself. Oscar: Congrats. Kaden: Hm, shall we?
Oscar: I don’t wanna sit n’ have a fucking chin-wag with you, Kaden.. say what you wanna say n’ be done with it. Kaden: Alright, I’m sure you can guess why I’m here. Oscar: You wanna make sure we don’t have any conflicting interests. Kaden: You were never stupid; I’ll give you that.
Tumblr media
Oscar: I’m not interested in whatever it is you do n’ I’m not involved in anything like that anymore either. Me n’ Ivan had no idea what we’d find in Oasis Springs, but neither of us assumed it’d be you. Kaden: I thought as much. Oscar: I’m a legit freelancer minding my business with my family, okay? That’s it-.. besides, Ames was right. Kaden: Oh?
Oscar: Whatever fucked up shit you’re involved with happens everywhere, all the time; but it’s not my job to sniff it out, nor to fix it. I’ve made my peace with that over the years-.. as much as I can, anyway. Kaden: Forgive me for wanting to be sure. Oscar: I suppose I get it. Kaden: If you’re not interested in me, then I’m not interested in you-.. neither of you ought to worry. Oscar: Thanks.
Tumblr media
Kaden: It’s not the same, for what it’s worth. Oscar: I’m not sure I wanna know… Kaden: Drugs, protection, weapons here and there-.. you know how it is. I have daughters, a wife-.. she’d kill me herself if I so much as looked down that road. I never agreed with Arturo on that.
Oscar: So, that’s why you kept your hands clean of it? Kaden: We had an agreement-.. you did me a favour in the end, you know.
Tumblr media
Oscar remained silent, raising a brow. Kaden: I was bound to Arturo by my late father’s loyalty, his death finally severed that. It gave me the freedom to focus on my own family entirely. Oscar: You could’ve left whenever you wanted. Kaden: It wasn’t that simple.
Oscar: I guess you’re welcome then-.. or perhaps you should thank Leah. Kaden: Hm, maybe.. I won’t lie to you, Oscar, I’m no saint either. I’m comfortable with many things that’d make the average person squirm beneath whatever morals they hold themselves to, but I care about my family, my friends, and my community. I’m not another Arturo.
Tumblr media
Oscar would’ve loved to point out the hypocrisy of Kaden’s career choice vs his words, but he’d never change his mind, and he really didn’t want to get involved; he’d already been there once, and the shitty t-shirt almost wasn’t worth it.
He was still proud of what he’d accomplished in the past, but there was no way in hell he’d walk that tightrope again, however much it pained him to imagine what went on in the seedier parts of this world.
Tumblr media
Kaden: I think we can agree to forget about one another, don’t you? Oscar: Easier for some than others… Kaden: Ivan will move on eventually. His daughter would never be in any danger, by the way; should she want to visit. The kids have no idea about anything that goes on behind closed doors, as far as they’re aware it’s just “business”. Oscar: [scoffs] Not my decision. Kaden: I still think you should mention it to him, a man has a right to see his children. Oscar: Yeah, well.. she’s not technically Bruno’s child. Kaden: Blood is blood, but we choose our own families too-.. he’s still her father. Oscar: Bruno made his choice n’ so did Ivan, I’m not getting involved.
Tumblr media
Kaden: Inform him, regardless. I don’t think he’d take it well from me. Oscar: Fine.
Kaden nodded curtly before curling his thumb and index finger against his lips, whistling sharply to corral his children-.. like an authoritative, uppity shepherd.
Kaden: I underestimated you once, but I won’t do so again-.. not that I think you’re lying. Oscar: I’m not. Kaden: Well.. in the nicest possible way, let’s hope we never see each other again. Oscar: We won’t. Kaden: Good.

Tumblr media
You wake up in John’s arms. Your heads are at the foot of the bed, and your feet near the head.
Last night didn’t stop at one time.
Of course not.
How could you two just hook up once when you’re the only ones who know each other’s bodies the way you do?
When you’ve gone two years without someone knowing worshiping your body just the way you like it?
You slowly remove John’s arm from where it was hugged your bare waist so you could sit up and stretch a bit.
God, you were sore.
You could hear the faint sound of John’s soft snoring from behind you as he laid there, still asleep.
Even in this moment of post-hookup clarity, you’re just still so connected to his presence in a way that you can hardly understand.
You lean down and kiss his cheek, your lips brushing against his prickly stubble.
You don’t know how things are going to be when he wakes, so you’ll take what you can get for now.
He lets out a small grunt as you kiss his cheek, and his body begin to shift slightly.
He’s waking up, and you know that it’s any moment before his eyes are on you again, and God knows what will happen then…
John’s eyes open.
You’re holding your breath.
His sleepy eyes still hold that same level of passion that they had last night, and your own glance back at him is just the same.
The intensity that’s in the air between you is only growing, only getting more potent, in a way that neither of you would like to let go of just yet.
“Hey.” You smile a little bit, your voice still soft and sleepy.
“G’mornin’.” He looks up at the soft smile on your face, matching it with his own lazy smirk. His gaze soon drifts back to your neck and the hickey he knows is still there.
Your eyes flicker down to his neck as well, seeing the matching mark you left on his throat.
“I should get the kids up soon.” You sigh softly. “You should… get dressed, and get to the couch. I don’t want to confuse them.”
John nods, getting up from the bed to find his clothes. The realization that this really has to end soon sinking in.
“Gonna be honest, love. Wish it didn’t have to be like this.”
You tilt your head to the side a bit. “What would you prefer, Johnathan?”
You smirk a tiny little bit as you call him by his full name; you used to do that to bug him when you were married.
He shakes his head, a breathy chuckle at how you’ve reverted to his full name now. It was always funny just how much that used to annoy him.
“I’d prefer jus’ to pick up where we left off.”
This time he lets the silence hang for a while, not bothering to fill it in. Both of you knew how complicated things were. Neither one of you wanted to be the one to acknowledge it.
Until you do.
“Where we left off was an ugly, screaming, crying argument.” You try not to sound too sour as you recall this.
John looks down as he hears this, trying to seem more busy with buttoning his jeans instead of acknowledging just how true that statement was.
The memory of that argument between the two of you was fresh in his mind as you brought it back up. He couldn’t argue with you, your point, or even the sour tone you had in your voice. You were right.
“And we didn’t fight. That was our rule.” You remind him, making the severity of your last fight seem even more intense.
“I know.” John sighs, a hand now rubbing over his beard, not bothering to argue or deflect.
The rule had always been to never fight. To talk everything out. To work through your problems in a civilized manner. But that last time, that last night, things got too out of hand.
He wasn’t proud of the way things ended.
You wipe your eyes, not realizing that you were starting to feel those intense emotions again, two years later.
You announce that you’re going to shower and then get the kids up, that John needs to get back downstairs to the couch.
After your shower, you get dressed and go to your youngest child’s room, but found the bed empty.
You quickly go to your oldest’s room, finding their bed empty as well.
“John!” You run down the stairs. “The kids-“
You freeze.
In the kitchen, you see John holding your youngest on his hip, the oldest on John’s strong back, their little arms and legs clinging around their father.
John tried not to laugh as he looked up and saw you standing in the kitchen now, seeing just how panicked you were.
“I’ve got ‘em.”
“Daddy knows how to make Mickey Mouse pancakes!” Your youngest grins widely. The normally grumpy-in-the-morning toddler was smiling like this was the best day ever.
“Anything f’r you, love.” He smiles at them, giving a kiss on the cheek before shifting his attention over to the oldest, who was still clinging to his back like a monkey. “How y’doin’ back there, buddy?”
“Awesome!” Your oldest cheers, their arms hugging around John’s neck.
Your heart aches.
Look how happy they are with their dad being home…
For a moment there, you forget all of your worries once you see those smiles on the kids’ faces,
John’s fatherly attention is getting to you.
You see how much your children are enjoying him being here, how much they love him.
How much he loves them.
You take your older child from John’s back and cover their little face with kisses, making them giggle like crazy.
“Help me set the table, little monkey.” You set the child to their feet and then handed them some silverware, while you take the plates.
“Dad’s gonna eat breakfast with us?!” Your little looked up at you with big blue eyes, as if it just clicked that John isn’t leaving right away.
“ ‘course I am.” John says, looking down at the little one and smiling as he sets a large plate of Mickey Mouse pancakes on the table.
“I wanna sit next to daddy!” The youngest says now, their eyes gleaming with the idea. The oldest had already reached their dad’s side, leaving you to finish setting up the table by yourself.
During breakfast, you notice how John is actively engaging in the conversation with the kids. He’s patiently listening to every story about a cartoon they’ve watched, answering every question about God-knows-what that they seemingly pulled out of nowhere.
Watching the love he has for them, as well as his playful nature with the both of them make you smile a bit. He’s still the same John you’d married all those years ago.
Isn’t that something.
After breakfast you have to fight to let John allow you to wash the dishes yourself.
He took the kids to the playroom and kept them entertained while you cleaned up.
Once the dishes are drying, you’re about to walk into the playroom. You pause in the hallway when you hear the kids talking to John in a hushed tone.
“Are you and mummy friends?” The youngest asks quietly.
You hear him let out a soft chuckle.
“Friends, yeah… We’re friends.” His soft tone of voice makes it evident that the subject of you two wasn’t exactly easy to talk about around the kids.
“Best friends?” The oldest pushes, the cheeky little kid.
“Yes, your mummy is my best friend.” John answers simply, unaware that you’re listening from the hall.
“Do you and mummy kiss?!” The oldest giggles, their little hands covering their mouth as if this was a question that could possibly get them in trouble.
You hear a nervous laugh escape John’s lips. He’s clearly flustered by the question from the five-year-old.
“Just what are you two cheeky kids talking about in here?” You ask as you walk in to save John, causing the two kids to burst into a giggle fit.
The youngest buries their face into John’s shoulder, not able to respond because of the giggles.
“Kissies! You and daddy have kissies! I saw it in a picture!” Your oldest says, their little voice filled with a matter-of-fact tone.
“Oh my god.” You cover your mouth, stifling your own nervous laughter.
They had seen your wedding photos that were still in an album in your home office.
You don’t know why you kept all of those, anyway. The past was the past. Why did you feel like holding on..?
John was now also filled with amusement when he heard how the little one had known all along. He knew there wasn’t really much way to go around this one, so it was probably best to just own up to it.
“You caught us. Mummy and I used to give kissies. We used to kiss a lot actually…”
You throw a stuffy from the floor at John, cutting him off.
The kids can’t help but laugh at John’s reaction as he pretends to clutch his chest out of pain when the plush, pink teddy hits him before bouncing off of his chest and onto the floor.
“Do you still like-like mummy?” The oldest asks, their curiosity getting the best of them, not being able to move on just yet.
“That’s enough, little one.” You scoop your mini-John up and hold them in your lap as you sit on the playroom floor across from John.
“We wanna know!”
John sighs, seeing the way you’re looking to him for help in the matter. He decides to intervene.
“C’mon, monkeys. It’s time we’re all done playing and we start cleaning up now, yeah?” He says, trying to get them off the topic.
“Mummy, do you like-like daddy?” They shift the question to you now, since they know they’re not getting an answer out of their daddy.
You sigh.
“I love your daddy a lot. Just like I love you two a lot.” You answer simply, hoping that will end that.
More giggles.
“Mummy loves daddy, mummy loves daddy!” They sang in a teasing way.
You and John meet eyes. You shake your head. “Our children.”
He just grins.
“Do you still love mum? Yes or no.” The older asks their father now, this time more demanding.
John takes a deep breath as he finally answers.
“Yes. I still love mummy. Always will.”
The kids burst into more laughter, as if their parents like-liking each other is hilarious
Eventually John sends them off into the kitchen to get snacks.
The two of you stay sitting across from each other on the floor of the playroom.
“So…” You start, feeling the tension in the air. “Are you heading back home today, then?”
John shrugs his shoulders, a tiny smirk on his lips.
“Was thinking I’d stick around. It is my weekend with the kids, after all.”
Your eyes involuntarily roll, but there’s a smile on your lips.
It’d be easier, he said.
Won’t have to bundle the kids up.
Won’t have to pack two overnight bags.
Won’t have to worry about driving them on the icy roads.
He can just stay one more night, he suggested.
“Let me clear the driveway while you think it over.” He stood up, that stupid cocky grin on his face.
You met him in the mudroom about 10 minutes later.
“Go home and get your shit.” You said, arms crossed like it was against your will.
It’s for the kids, of course.
It was his weekend with them, after all.
“They were pesterin’ you, eh?” He chuckles.
“Didn’t take much convincing.” You blush.
With a light swat to your backside, John gets into his truck to retrieve his belongings.
* lemme know if u want me to continue 🥺 my asks are open if y’all want to suggest smth 🫣

Teammates Sister (OP81 x Norris!Reader)
Lando's eyes narrowed as he watched Kinsley laugh at something the driver said, her hair bouncing in the sunlight. He recognized the driver as Oscar Piastri, his new McLaren teammate.
Curiosity piqued, Lando decided to approach the both of them and see what was going on. As he got closer, he realized that his sister and teammate seemed to be getting along quite well, to well for Landos liking. Lando couldn't help but always be over protective of his younger sister.
"Hey, whatcha guys talking about?" Lando asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
Kinsley turned to him, taking notice of skeptical look in her older brothers eyes. "Oh, just chatting with Oscar here. Asking him how he likes Team McLaren so far.”
Lando raised an eyebrow, skeptical of her explanation. "Is that so?”
Kinsley laughed, rolling her eyes, and before she could speak, an australian voice is heard from behind her, “Yeah mate, she was just asking me about if i was nervous and giving me tips on how to help those said nerves.”
Lando felt a pang of annoyance at the sight of his baby sister and Oscar getting along so well. He had always been overprotective of his little sister, and the thought of her getting close to another driver, thats not Max, Daniel, Carlos, or Lewis, made him uneasy.
Just then, the team manager called for Lando to come for a last-minute strategy meeting, leaving Kinsley and Oscar alone once again. As he walked away, Lando couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled in his stomach.
Later that evening, after the race had ended, Lando decided to confront Kinsley about her newfound friendship with Oscar. As he walked towards her car, hoping to catch her before she left, instead he caught something else. Oscar and Kinsley sitting close together, laughing and talking animatedly.
"What's going on here?" Lando demanded, his voice filled with a mix of anger and concern.
Kinsley turned to him, her eyes wide with surprise, as she has never heard Lando angry before. "Lando, what are you doing here? I thought you were staying back with management?"
Lando ignored her question, his hard gaze fixed on Oscar. "And you.” Lando steps in-front of his sister, who rolls her eyes once again at her brother, “What do you think you're doing, getting so chummy with my sister?"
Oscar held up his hands in surrender, a blush creeping on his face. "Hey, mate. We were just talking."
Lando's anger flared at Oscar's casual attitude. "Well, you need to back off."
Kinsley sighed, her frustration evident. "Lando, stop being so overbearing. Oscar is just being friendly, that's all. There's nothing going on between us."
Lando hesitated, torn between his protective instincts and his sister's words. After a moment of silence, he sighed and relented. Turning towards his sister, "Fine. Just be careful, okay? I don't want anything to happen to you."
Kinsley smiled, relieved that her brother had finally backed off. "I know Lando. Thanks. I'll be fine, I promise."
As Lando turned and left, he couldn't shake the feeling of unease that lingered in the air. He couldn't help but worry about his little sister and the newfound friendship she had struck up with Oscar Piastri.
Meanwhile, after watching her brother walk out of sight Kinsley and Oscar turn back towards eachother. “So, you think he’s suspicious?” Oscar asked after thinking that Lando may not be so dumb after all.
“You think? I want to tell him but ya know, it’s Lando. Let’s wait a few months okay?” Kinsley said to her secret relationship. “Or… we tell him on our one year anniversary?” Oscar responds after a few seconds. “Evil…. I like it.” Kinsley laughs. And poor Lando has no idea whats about to hit him in 4 days.

For Lovers At Night part 2
Melissa tells Barb about her new budding relationship. Pt 1
The rest of that Saturday night went well for Melissa. When she got home she took a long shower and tried to tone down her total heart eye as she gets ready for bed. Getting settled she holds her phone daring to send a goodnight text as she lays in her bed next to a sleeping Joe which had become a rare occurrence.
Thank you for another great night, hon. I hope I can see you soon.
Putting her phone on do not disturb she sets it on the night stand rolling over to her side with a giddy smile on her lips.
Melissa wakes alone the following morning. The weather outside is dull and grey, making her want to stay curled up under the covers. Stretching out with a sigh she picks her phone up ready to see if she has anything from Barb about their brunch plans. Instead, she sees a text from the woman she’s found herself thinking about more often than not.
Believe me the pleasure was all mine, gorgeous. Maybe we can meet up for a coffee sometime this week if your schedule lets you. Let me know 😊
And that’s how Melissa ends up walking around the house with a cheek aching smile on her face. So much so that when she shows up to brunch with Barb, the older woman beams at her friend.
“Look at you, girl! What’s got you smiling like that?” She asks hugging her friend before they sit at the table.
“What? I can’t smile?” Melissa chuckles setting her purse down.
“I haven’t seen you smile like that in a long long time.”
Melissa let Barbara into her life a year into her career at Abbott, and she hasn’t looked back since. She knew Barb was a woman of faith, but also knew that she would never condemn her for being happy.
Resting her hand on the table, Melissa tries to bite back a smile. That attempt fails.
“I met someone that’s makin me think a lot.”
“Oh Melissa, it’s wonderful to have a new friend.” Barbara pats her hand.
“It’s already more than that, Barb.” Melissa admits. “It’s- I dunno i feel like a high school kid with a crush.”
“Well, I’m not telling you what to do, but knowing you and your husband? Be smart and do what makes you happy.”
Melissa looks at her best friend with a hopeful smile, touched that she wasn’t judged for her admission. Barb asks for more details about this mystery person and eventually, Melissa sees a familiar face coming towards their table. She sits up a little straighter, a small smile spreading on her lips.
“Melissa,” you smile walking over to the table.
“Hi, hon. I was just talking about you.”
“Uh oh, that’s rarely a good thing.” You tease. “I don’t want to interrupt your lunch, I just wanted to say hi.”
“You’re not interrupting anything, sweetheart. I’m Barbara Howard.” The woman offers you a kind handshake.
“It’s great to meet you Mrs. Howard.” You smile shaking her hand. “I’m picking up an order for the guys at the bar, I’ll catch up with you later?” You meet Melissa’s eyes.
“You bet, hon.”
Walking away you move with a pep in your step not knowing about the conversation that’s going to take place. Barbara keeps her eyes on her friend with an agape mouth. “Girl,” she draws out, “that woman likes you. And she’s very pretty.”
Melissa sips her mimosa trying to hide her smile. “She is, isnt she?”
“Does she know your situation?” Barb asks quietly. That’s when Melissa looks down at the table feeling the catholic guilt that’s been engrained in her since she was a child.
“I told her I was divorced.” She admits.
Barbara gives Melissa a look that makes her feel like she’s in trouble with her mother again.
“Sweetheart if you like her don’t you think it’s best to start off with the truth?”
Melissa sits back knowing it was wrong of her to lie about it. She’d wanted a divorce for years, not pulling the trigger on the idea because she knew it would kill her mother. So she put up with the cheating and living with a man that was nothing more than a roommate.
“I’ll tell her when the times right, Barb. I will.”
Back at the bar you and your coworker, Jacob, hangout in the back on a lunch break. As your friend goes on about his finals for his degree you sit back with your legs on your desk, food container in your lap.
“Jacob you’re gonna get hiccups if you take in any more air.” You chuckle.
“Sorry! I’m really nervous is all.” He all but whines. “I have to pass these courses then I get to do teachers without boarders finally.”
You smile playfully tossing a balled up napkin at him. “You’re gonna be a great teacher, Hill. Trust me.”
“Maybe your girlfriend could get me a job.” He smirks.
“Oh my god,” you laugh. “We’re literally building a friendship for right now.” You reason trying not to give away your already budding feelings for the mysterious woman. When your phone buzzes you can’t stop the grin spreading across your face.
“Oh.my.god. I see literal heart eyes. That must be her.”
Sure enough, on your screen you see a text from the redhead.
It was nice seeing you today, hon. How about that coffee tomorrow? I know this really nice bookshop. You might know it.
Grinning like an idiot you send her a text back.
I might know which one you’re talking about. When you get here park around the back.
Setting the phone down you look up finally snapping out of it.
“Don’t look at me like that, Hill.”
Sure enough Jacob was right and it annoys you that he is. The next day you walk around your apartment with a ridiculous smile on your lips as you clean, the nervous excitement running through you has you practically dancing across the clean floor. The idea of bringing Melissa up to your apartment was easy, it was right above the shop and bar anyway, and maybe just maybe it would allow you to get closer to the woman.
Being closed on Sundays and Mondays were usually a good thing, but now you find yourself doing busy work to get through the day until Melissa comes over after work. Making sure the floors are clean, you dust your own book shelves and re stack your records before looking around the sitting area, which really was just a big open room with a kitchen and a divider wall in front of your bedroom furniture.
Hours later when you hear the buzzer, you jump up and check your hair in the mirror, wearing it down when you’re not in the bar, this’ll be the first time Melissa sees you more comfortable.
“Hey! Cmon up.” You say into the speaker, pressing the buzzer down to let the woman in.
Melissa hops up the single flight of stairs, smiling when she sees you in the hallway. “You have a long commute to work.” She jokes.
“Oh it’s awful,” you beam stepping forward with your arms open for a hug. Melissa is a little surprised, not really showing affection to people outside of her family but she finds herself gravitating the young woman wrapping her arm around her shoulders in a little squeeze, one that feels warm and inviting.
“Ive got the coffee going already, are you hungry? I thought maybe we could order food.” You shrug casually.
“That sounds great, hon.” Melissa smiles following you into the cozy living space. “Wow, I didn’t know this was so open up here.”
“I tried to make it cozy.” You chuckle pouring two cups. “How was work?”
Melissa sets her purse down on one of the small dining table chairs, looking up at you surprised. “It was a great day actually. The kids did this project I’ve never done before, we read Peter rabbit then they decorated little plates like bunnies.” She beams talking about her kids.
You can’t help but smile as she shares how her day was, eventually moving to sit on your couch with your hot mugs in hand.
“I’m sorry, I’ve been talking and talking.” Melissa chuckles nervously following you. Joe never wanted to hear about her days at work or anything about the kids, he was always rushing out every time she tried to share something with him.
“No no!” You chuckle tucking your feet under you, “keep going, seeing you talk about your kids is adorable. So is bunny art.” Truth be told you found her laugh so warm and invigorating, it made your stomach jump in the best way.
Melissa tucks a strand of wavy hair behind her ear smiling at the young woman. “I don’t always talk about work, but they were too cute.”
“You can talk about whatever you want. I’m a good listener.” You smile sipping your coffee.
Sitting back Melissa realizes that this has been easy from the start. Having a casual conversation and feeling comfortable was easy with you.
“I have a very serious question for you, hon.”
“I might have an answer for you, Mel.” You mirror her energy with an amused smile.
“Do you like the Eagles?”
“Yes I do.” You laugh with a nod. “I don’t fully understand football, but I like it. My brother is a big football guy.”
“A brother huh? Younger or older?” Melissa beams.
“Four years older. I was a pain in his ass. What about you, any siblings?”
Melissa nods leaning forward to rest her mug on the coffee table, her shirt coming down exposing a nice amount of cleavage you have to look away from.
“I have a little sister and a baby brother. But he’s on thin ice because he keeps backing the Jets.”
“Not the Jets.” You scrunch your nose, “see I might not fully get the game but at least I’m loyal.”
“A woman after my own heart.” Melissa chuckles watching you play with the handle of your mug.
There’s that sound again.
“You’ll know when I go for that.” You smile, meeting her pretty eyes. You didn’t know what her full story was, but you wanted to find out and if that was friendly or romantic was up to Melissa.
Melissa meets your eyes, a shy smile spreading on her own face. She felt like she’d known you forever, a comfortably settling over you two with ease.
“You’re so suave, you don’t get nervous do ya?”
“You make me a little nervous,” you shrug. “But in an exciting ‘what am I going to say to keep her attention?’ way.”
It’d been so long since Melissa felt like someone was interested in her it felt almost foreign.
“Don’t be nervous, hon. If it makes you feel any better I uh, I felt I was back in high school when I was texting ya.”
“Oh yeah? “I’m happy to have made you feel like that. You’re a special person, Mel. I know meeting someone new after a breakup can be scary, but I feel very grateful you let me in like you have.” You tell her as casually as you can.
Melissa looks at the younger woman, nothing but sincerity in her eyes.
“That got way more serious than I wanted it to be,” you laugh hiding your face in your hand.
“Oh cmon!” Melissa laughs leaning over, gently taking your wrist in her hand to remove it from your face. “I’m around second graders all day having a conversation like this is great.” She gives you a soft smile.
Taking her hand in yours you lean forward just enough to enter her personal space just a bit. “You have a gorgeous smile.”
“You’re a charmer, hon.”
“I always mean what I say.” You tell her quietly. The feeling of her hand in yours gives you the same bubbly feeling it gave you at the bar the other night.
“I’m starting to see that. I think I learn somethin new about you every time I see you.”
“Yeah? What have you learned about me?” You smile back feeling a teasing steak hit you.
“You’re incredibly smart, helpful,” she hums gently squeezing your hand, “and you’re incredibly cute when you talk about something you like, like that book.”
“It’s a good book. Like I said, a woman finding herself is a beautiful thing. But if we get into that we’ll be here all night” You grin leaning a little closer.
“I can’t stay late tonight.” Melissa whispers eyeing your lips. Despite how much she wants to, she really did only come for a coffee.
“That’s okay. I know you have to teach the rugrats in the morning. Cell phones are a beautiful invention, that’ll hold us over until I can see you again.” You chuckle.
“Barb already teases me when she sees me smiling at my phone.”
“I guess the leather jacket and killer eyeliner don’t work when you look adorable and mushy looking at a phone huh?” You tease.
Melissa playfully rolls her eyes moving to stand up. “I’m not mushy now walk me out.”
“Yes, Ms.-“ you stop short as you stand up. “I was going to make a teacher joke but I don’t know your last name.” You chuckle.
Once again, Melissa’s brain short circuits. She’s not joes wife here. No, here she’s herself. “Schemmenti.”
“Very Italian.” You smile not bothering to let go of her hand as you walk her out, down the stairs to her truck.
Outside Melissa unlocks the truck still holding the younger woman’s hand.
“Can I tell you something, hon?” She whispers inching closer.
You meet jade eyes once again, butterflies hitting you just as they always do when you’re with Melissa. “Of course you can.” You say quietly, eyes flicking down to glossy lips for a moment.
But Melissa doesn’t say anything. Closing the space between the two of you she rests her hand on your cheek meeting your lips in a soft kiss. When you register what’s happening your arms slips around her waist, tongue licking at her lower lip to deepen the kiss. It feels like a magnetic pull has taken over your body as you stand there outside in the dusk, arms wrapped around her warm, curvy frame.
Melissa pulls away first, pecking your lips once more for good measure.
“For the record, I’m not scared.”

Aylin - Sleepover
Pairing: Aylin x Female Reader
Fandom: 23.5
Summary: Aylin never wanted to have any relations to humans, except the ones in her own family. Unfortunately all that facade crumbles when certain human smiles at her.
A/N: Made it just for @vlance
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3rd's POV
Aylin looked at Alpha in disbelief, her mind started racing at the information she just gained from her cousin.
"Y/N, Sun and Luna are spending the night here"
Like here? As in their house that all of them live in which means that she lives in it, you're gonna be spending the night here?! Aylin didn't waited long and evacuated back to her room before Alpha or anyone else could stop her. She wasn't sure what was their plan but she wasn't about to let them succeed in whatever they planned with her.
Or at least that's what she thought to herself but unfortunately she ended up at the dining table with everyone. Her eyes stayed on the food the whole time, not daring to even look in your direction but she could feel your curious gaze on her and it caused her heart to beat faster. She didn't understand that... or rather she did but wished she didn't.
"It's nice to finally meet you Y/N. Everyone always talked so much about you but never brought you over" Aylin looked at her uncle from the corner of her eye as she listened "I never had time to, I'm glad I was able to come today" You smiled at him and soon Ongsa's mom chimed in "Are you often busy?" That was true, you were the same age as Alpha which meant that you had to think about college soon, you were also the oldest in your family which caused you to be busy helping and taking care of them.
"Yeah, I need to study to make sure I'll get into the college I picked" This immediately interested Ongsa's mom as both of you started talking about your plans for the future. Aylin used this moment to look at you. You looked extra pretty that day, your hair fell on your face just right and the shirt you wore really suited you. Aylin couldn't help but stare until she noticed Luna who was sitting right next to you, looking at her with a mischievous glint in her eyes. This immediately made Aylin look back at her food.
Just when she thought she was gonna have some rest from everyone, the unfortunate room choosing had to happen. Aylin had the feeling about how it was gonna end, Sun was sleeping in Ongsa's room as they were together and Luna was already ready to go to Alpha's room. The next words leaving her older cousin's lips didn't surprised her but also didn't made her happy.
"Y/N you can sleep in Aylin's room"
That's how she ended up sitting in front of her desk, trying not to look at you sitting on her bed. It was hard considering how you kept staring at her and trying to initiate a conversation with her.
"That's a cool alien friend you have here Aylin, what's their name?"
Silence.
"You know, I've been doing project about aliens but I don't know as much as you. Can you help me?
Silence.
"Can you even hear me?"
More silence.
Soon she could hear steps closing in on her before feeling a warm breath against her ear. Her body tensed at the feeling.
"I don't like it. How we're here together but it feels like we're on different planets" This was the first time she heard your voice so serious yet soft. She was so used to hearing your cheerful voice calling out to her at school everyday even when she ignored you. This moment was so different, the atmosphere change making her heartbeat faster.
And this time she couldn't help but turn around and look you in the eye.
The smile that you gave her in that moment got engraved in her memory for years to come, she was sure of that.
Along with the way she felt like could let herself let loose with a human for the first time... but she wouldn't tell you that.
At least not yet.

I have a request for Lena Oberdorf x Bayern Reader.
On the topic of her transfer to Bayern. This request is full on fluff with maybe a little angst of them being apart.
Reunited
Can we please get one about Obi loving domestic life with Reader when they see each other (cooking together, cuddling while watching movies & even versing each other at video games). But misses it dearly when the two have to be apart for months on end due to their commitments with their respective clubs. Sure the two see each other during the national break but that’s not enough. So Obi decides to transfer to Bayern to be with Reader 24/7.
Reunited.
Lena x reader
Tumblr media
"Finally reunited!" you said as you put your seatbelt on.
"Only for a little bit though." she said turning on the engine, to drive to her apartment from picking you up at the airport.
"Don't say that, we have a couple of days." you grabbed the hand she had in your thigh, intertwining your fingers and kissing the back of it.
"Sorry schatz. I swear, I'm very excited to spend time together."
You were a Bayern Munich player, and your girlfriend, well, she was one of your best rivals. She played for Wolfsburg.
You can say it took a lot of concessions, to make the relationship work.
"Okay love, I'm going to shower. Can you order dinner for us?"
"Yeah. Movie night or game night?"
"Game night!" you said disappearing into the bedroom's in suite.
Tumblr media
"How does it feel to lose for the third time in a row?" she asked as you pouted your lips.
"You cheated this last round!"
"Well, all is fair in love and war." she tried to reason.
"And which one was it? Love or war?" she had distracted you, by removing her sweatshirt, staying in only a pair of shorts and a sports bra.
It would've been fine if she did it because she was hot. But she did it exactly to distract you. Flexing her muscles at any chance she got.
"Both. I wanted to win the game and I love to see you drooling." she said teasing you.
"I didn't drool!"
"You so did." she said pulling you to sit on her lap.
"Fine. How could I not? I'm dating the embodiment of a goddess."
That would have been enough, if she wasn't already turned on by you naturally.
"I think it's time we go to bed." she said with a naughty look on her face.
Tumblr media
"Good Morning my love." she said kissing your temple. You opened your eyes, taking in Lena's sleepy and puffy face, as a ray of light came through the window.
"Good morning liebling. Slept well?"
"The best I have, since the last time we slept in the same bed." she would always bring up the fact you guys were separated by over 400 kilometers, constantly.
"In a couple of years, this will be our lives everyday." you reassured her, the best you could every time.
"I'll die of happiness when that happens."
This woman made your heart feel like it was about to explode.
"How about we cook some breakfast? I can make your favorite."
"Yes! I've been craving it." giving you a kiss before getting up. "Let's go."
"I've never seen you get up so fast in my life." as you followed her to get cleaned up.
"I don't know how you make this taste so good. Usually healthy versions of things taste like cardboard." as you prepared the pancake batter.
"We can't really break our diets, so. Also it's just a good recipe."
"Don't play it on the recipe. It's all you. Take a complement please."
"Thank you, schatz. How about we make a smoothie to complement it?"
"I'll start cutting the fruits." but before she could turn, you grabbed her attention.
"Hey..." you said dabbing a finger in the liquid and tapping it on her nose.
"Oh, it's on." letting out a mischievous grin.
Tumblr media
You had the day all to yourselves. Not wanting to waste your time with anyone that wasn't each other, you decided upon watching movies. Only movies ever allowed to play by your girlfriend, was Disney movies. Not that you would ever complain. And you had chose the first one. Tangled.
Cuddling up to her. She was almost always the big spoon, only setting for other option when she felt extremely needy. So you laid on your back, as she placed her head on your chest, cuddling to your side the best she could, since you were a bit smaller than her.
You spent your time focusing partially on the movie and partially in gently combing her hair through you fingers and massaging her scalp.
"They are just like us. I'm obviously Flynn, good looking, funny, has a hot girlfriend."
"And I look nothing like Rapunzel."
"No, but you would probably defend yourself with a frying pan, if someone broke into the apartment."
She never failed at making you laugh. You loved that about her.
Every time you spent more time around eachother, she was more and more sure, of wanting to marry you. Of taking the decision to ask for a transfer.
She hadn't brought up yet. She was waiting till it felt like it was the right moment.
While you held each other under the blankets, you noticed she wasn't paying attention at all. So you brought up what you thought was bothering her.
"Aren't you supposed to be looking for a new apartment? I thought your lease was ending this summer."
"I've looked at some but, not one of them felt right." she mustered all her courage for her next words. It was now or now.
"It will only feel like a home, if I have you with me."
"What do you mean?"
"What if I moved to Munich?"
"That would be amazing! Are you planning to leave Wolfsburg next year?"
"Actually, I'm asking for a transfer over the summer."
"Are you messing with me?"
"I'm serious. All is fair in love and war, I want to move into a more competitive club and I want to be with you, close to you, not having to take a plane just to kiss you."
"You are?" You instantly jumped up on the bed.
"Yes." she said laughing as you jumped on the bed.
You landed on top of her. Pulling her into a hug.
"Love, I can't breathe properly." she said under you.
"Sorry, right, you have to be alive for that to happen." she pulled you back to her.
"I love you." she left a kiss on your forehead.
"And I love you." you said placing a kiss on her lips.
