Bristlefrost is like a character I really like the concept and my brain image of but not so much canon Bristle. She just kinda got done dirty to me. Also I wanted to make her a dilute calico but I didn’t like the yellow so we got blue Bristle :,)

Her front legs have thud blue color as well as her tail base, bun, tail tip, and back in bands. White is on her chest, hair floof, nose, back legs in a splash like pattern, belly and a band around her tail. She has blue eyes and a pink nose, the same color as her inner ear. Hi there! So I have a few questions about Kismet and the gorgeous Galaxy queen!

her name is cassiopeia! the above art is actually a redraw of a design aaaalll the way back from some time around 2016 or so. actually she is part of a set of designs: the necromancer and her bride

i actually turned this OG art into a pair of foil prints which i think? have a few copies left in my store (tho the store is closed til jan 2). i never got around to doing a redraw of the bride but maybe i’ll do that some day lol. i did make a sketch im just not totally happy w it so i never finished it.

i’ve only played cassiopeia in a ttrp once, but it was super fun. it was a game of sexy battle wizards. obviously her highest stat was sexy.

as for kismet, i haven’t played her in a game yet! she’s one of my backup characters lol. i’ll probably play her as a divine soul sorcerer or trickster cleric or something similar: essentially, an agent of chaos that is both compassionate and mischievous. my rough background idea for her is she has a bit of a Chosen One type deal, where she was raised very rigidly for a Greater Purpose and told she could only be that thing, and has since run away from home to shirk responsibility and maybe find herself, or at least find some fun.

now, both cassiopeia and kismet are available as designs for people on my licensable character patreon tier, where ppl can use my character designs for their ttrpg home games, so there may be other versions of these girls out in the wild with different names and personalities and backstories!

Now then those are mostly designs i stopped working on for many reasons and i can barely find good images of them now cause theyre not even on my computer. Maybe i revisit them in the future but who knows

First something i tried together w the beach fan design- literally a gamer inspired line lol called gamer ghouls. i hate how drac turned out but the heart-shaped switch is something cool- i like frankie’s outfit and ghoulia is my fave here.  its funny cause something i always think when i make g3 designs is ‘’how can i include drac in this’’ cause realistically my line of thinking is ‘’would these sell’’ and drac sells. i also try to keep in mind materials and how well the items would perform as toys too. drac is hideous here tho.  the ghouls drinking monster was super funny in my head

this is a rough one. its for g1, i came up w the concept talking to an old friend, bonita and venus were her favorite dolls and i came up with the concept of a cybergoth inspired Bonita doll and a more slick also cyber inspired figure for venus (shes barely sketched there).

we had LOTS of creative differences (i came with a color pallete much, much different from that since i was inspired by cybergoth, focusing on neon and dark colors) and specially after some personal stuff i just gave up. i still like the concept but i cant really stand working with a concept in mind just to realize the other person isnt interested unless its their way. i wish i can revisit her in the future and apply the stuff i actually envisioned for her- but well, so far thats what we got. cant say im happy aside from the silhouette.

some other reaaally rough ideas for the beach line project for g3. i did most of those during my office work lol. those are for ghoulia. for her i wanted to keep in mind her 50s theme from g1 actually cause i love it so much. thats where the glam chill look came from. then i was like eh its nice but new ghoulia is way more rad and sporty so i tried to think of her doing surf (i also have sketches for deuce in surf attire so they would be fun) i have so many of those all over my house cause when g3 was barely launching i was so excited. and so bored at work. so i just got every paper note i could to sketch random ideas lol Also SILLY OC ALERT!!!

This was mostly a joke but i made her thinking of ET Bilu from a brazilian urban legend lol. thinking of her as a scary skinny legend w stereotypical and hilarious proportions common to old MH dolls was what inspired me at first but then also the whole 2012 pop diva look. Shes just a funny little gal. busquem conhecimento!

3. I can actually reveal who Donnie’s alien friend is! It’s Jhanna!! If you’ve read the mirage comics or have watched the 2003 show, you know who she is… I absolutely loved her character and wish she appeared more, so I had to add her to this AU. As for how Donnie and her met (and if April knows about her), that’s a story for a different time >:3

4. This AU actually takes place pretty recently! So they were abandoned at their current ages; 9-13 years old. I wanted to keep them young because it showed how inadequate they were in being able to protect themselves and how it left Splinter no other choice than to stow his sons away somewhere else because there was no realistic chance of him being able to protect them all by the amount of ninjas after them. Donnie definitely has oldest child syndrome HHEHA he feels like he has to find the solutions for everything. In the turtles eyes, they weren’t abandoned, and whether or not Splinter is alive or not remains a mystery.

5. HAHA OMG IM SO GLAD U NOTICED IT WAS HER!! As of right now— she doesn’t know about the turtles! April has a hard time even convincing herself that the mutant turtles are real… she doesn’t wanna chase away her bestie because of it HEHAHA. But Irma’s helping April not burst into flames of absolute burn-out, we love her.

im really interested in this developing plotline about draculaura being pressured to be like the model of Good Witchcraft. it works well with her established character and arc of like trying to live up to her fathers reputation and status in the monster world. poor girl never seems to be able to just fucking relax.

skelita! i love that shes trying out witchcraft, and the art-based magic is a fun angle too! i can totally see where this is going tho. drac is super serious about magic because theres all this pressure on her while skelita is just trying it out in a casual way so theyre at odds. its an interesting dilemma because i can def see both sides.

im really happy the writing seems like empathetic to both positions here. skelita deserves to try magic her way on her own terms, but its also totally understandable draculaura would feel protective over witchcraft when any misuse of it is ultimately going to reflect on her since she was the one working to legitimize it. respectability is a double edged sword fr!

still, it's not until the Very End Of The Ep that the actual vibes get Romantical, with the Looking and cleo's narration and frankie's little hand touch spark and the More Looking Hmmm

a lot of the other cute stuff was Normal Cute Stuff. not trying too hard stuff or acting out of character to impress cleo stuff

frankie IS the kind of monster who'd hum a tune and dance with a friend to cheer her up! that's just them being themselves around cleo, and cleo smiling to see it!

we got to see cleo and frankie as they would be AFTER dealing with all the feels

sometimes in media, the moment Feels come up, it all goes to tension and awkward and trying to be the person they think other other will like most (we'll see if that happens here too),

but usually, a lot of times, especially if the relationship isn't the Main Part of the Story, there isn't much build up for the ppl involved, how they'd interact when not silently freaking out all the time, so you're left wondering What WOULD They Be Like Together Even?

and that can be really fun! To imagine or look forward to!

problem is often there's not much time spent on showing the After, or any at all, if the Getting Together is saved for the very end

so with clankie, im just... really glad there was an ep of them being friends

ohhh my sweet girls, my precious girls, what did they Do to you.

the blue looks So bad on them. it clashes with minori and airi and feels too samey with shizu and haru. i like their shoes, tho, and i like how airi keeps her trend of her outfit straying just a little bit from the norm.

these outfits just feel so boring and lifeless, compared to their og ones that had a lot more personality and a lot more charm. i dont think the dresses themselves are ugly, in fact i find them quite pretty, but i dont think they suit the girls very well.

also what the fuck is miku wearing lmao (i like her hairstyle tho)

i like all the girls hair accessories tho they’re cute

i hate ranking them last because i love mmj so much but yeah im very disappointed and i honestly prefer their canon outfits that they wear while performing not in the sekai (the ones that their fans helped design in the metamo re:born event that i forgot the name of)

i dont hate these designs!! i quite like them actually. they seem more unified and professional, which fits because leo/need is SIGNED with an AGENCY now oh yeah im so proud of them

im sad that ichikas wearing her tie now rip ichikas tie around her wrist you will be missed by me and me only

i really like their new outfits!! the girls look and feel older. im not really vibing with the shade of gray used tho, i wish their uniforms were black or white or a different shade of gray. i also love the pins and buttons on mikus jacket (i actually prefer the shade of gray on the jacket why couldnt the leoneeders be dressed in that shade)

yeah, i was surprised too at how much i like the vbs designs

i like vbs, sure, but they’ve always been the group that has piqued my interest the least. and ive never been super keen on the designs of the characters

but these designs??? i really like them. a lot. it feels like the kids are really coming into their own, with kohane and toya finding their personal styles, akito refining his, and an paying homage to nagi in hers. they’re becoming the young adult creators and musicians that they’re striving to be. i can really see vbs’s growth in their new designs, and i hope that i can grow to really love them and their story : D

hi tumblr, happy weekend! kamusta naman kayo? how are your weekends so far?

as usual, just dropping by to post some updates here (usually and mostly for myself but if you do end up reading these, thank you ♡)

personal:

today was super lovely, we ended up going to makati for lunch and a bit of shopping

my mom bought us new sunnies and im super happy kasi i have new pair to wear to our trips soon

we tried sunnies coffee's spanish latte and tbh sobrang sarap niya as in super high quality ng lasa niya not like pick up coffee or but first coffee (imo!) which i kind of expected na ganun yung lasa niya kasi theyre primarily not a brand that sells drinks talaga to begin with but it was a 10/10 for me; im excited to try their matcha tho

i decluttered my closet and i feel so light and happy about it kasi super konti nalang talaga yung natira and im 300% sure na yung mga tinira ko is sinusuot ko naman talaga

the clothes i took out, i plan on donating sa h&m since they do offer vouchers in return so im excited to do that too

food today was good too, we had shake shack for lunch, then i made my favorite cheesy bread with hot honey for dinner

im excited for tomorrow kasi my dad is finally back from japan!

im so excited for 1989 taylor's version too! i keep forgetting na i really like the songs on this album pala talaga

its my mom's birthday next week and im just excited to spend it with her; im sad na i dont have extra money to get her anything this year pero babawi nalang ako sakanya for sure

I've only got a couple, and they're pretty Dalia centric, but you can have em

Dalia picked up a bunch of tips and tricks for dealing with kids both from helping raise her siblings and from treating kids as a nurse, uses them all the time, her personal favorite thay she's picked up is doubling bedsheets when kids are sick so that if they get dirty you can just take it off and make it a later problem while you comfort said sick child. Dalia is also very sentimental as a parent, cries at every ceremony and graduation. Sometimes she'll say something that sounds like her mother and she goes quiet for a while after that. I have a feeling that Sabrina and Dalia's house tends to be the designated 'safe house' for Vee and Jasper's friends. Dalia's actually kind of happy about this, in her mind it's confirmation that she's not her mother. (This may or may not be based on the fact that my house irl is the safehouse). All I have rn, sorry

Next up Nyx, my boy. He feels like a walking second place trophy compared to all his siblings. Brushes it off in an Rottmnt Leo sort of way, through humor and a facade of confidence. Desperately wants anyone to be proud of him. Takes his little siblings out crimeing™️ together sometimes, and is like the number one supporter of their shenanigans. Let's them steal his shit, as long as they don't get caught(bc he taught them better than that). The only thing he'd put up a fight against having stolen is his binder, but that's about it.

Oh and Onyx is the one with an ED, she has anorexia specifically. It started with her just trying to lose weight, she's fairly light, but her frame is wide, so she didn't see any results and things got drastic from there, especially when people started making fun of her for her body. She's super sensitive to comments about her body, and the bullying just made it so much worse. She hates looking at herself, in mirrors, in pictures, anything. It's like her eyes pick out the flaws every time and she can't stand it. So she's trying to 'fix' herself, much to the worry of the people around her. She eats in the dream bubbles, but that's only because she knows that it isn't real. Harlow noticed this and has started sneaking food into the dream bubbles just so Onyx eats for once. Onyx still hasn't caught onto this.

Onyx spins her drumsticks between her fingers when she's bored, she can do it really fast too

Nyx's hoodie he wears in his sprite is his dysphoria hoodie

Gray has a lot of little interests she keeps hidden. They tend to be niche and geeky, so she hides them to protect her image

Nyx can project his voice loud enough to yell over the band

Onyx is only ever quiet when she's flustered or thinking about somthing, other than that there's usually at least a dull chatter coming from her

Onyx is very physically affectionate, she straight up tackle hugs people.

Gray was a pageant kid,and his parents were very competitive about it. They still have all their sashes from it too

Onyx doesn't fight for herself, but if you say something bad about someone she cares about that's when she starts a fight. Starting fights like that is what got her thrown through a window that one time

Onyx is the one who started calling Alison peepaw, and it just stuck after that

When Alison sleeps she doesn't snore, she shuffles through radio channels under her breath, kind of like sleeptalking

Speaking of Alison, he's insecure about the radio affect his voice has

Alison is very protective of the kids she's 'adopted' (usually underclassmen, but they've also taken most of the radio class under their wing)

Kwami’s choice is making me want to scream

Ok first half of kwami’s choice is out, kudos for glob for actually not posting the second half first (they’ve been releasing the season all over the place) and this would be episode 10 of season 5

So finally we have some context on what changed so much in two episodes that Marinette is back with Adrien and forgot completely about Chat Noir, and… THERES LITERALLY NO EXPLANATION!!!

I am telling you, the show legit just makes marinette depressed and crying about her love life again (again, somehow her abandoning all the Kwamis is an afterthought because “love” and not “yeah you fucked up because you refused to treat your partner equally and chose to keep secrets and make dumb decisions on your own and you’re literally digging your own grave”) marinette being “completely in love with chat” for nine episodes was never even mentioned beyond one line, AND ADRIEN TAKES THE BLAME FOR MARINETTE BEING SAD.

YOU HEARD IT HERE FOLKS THE GUY THAT REFUSED A RELATIONSHIP WITH A CIVILIAN BECAUSE OF THE UNHEALTHY POWER DYNAMICS THAT WOULD RESULT FROM SAID RELATIONSHIP DESPITE HIS EMOTIONS IS THE ONE AT FAULT HERE BECAUSE HE “FLIRTED WITH MARINETTE AND BROKE HER HEART”

…I swear to fucking god, ANYWAYS-

Marinette further digs her own grave with Adrien telling him they could never work and that’s blamed on the “iDEnTItY rULe” (which still for some reason matters even tho it legit doesn’t but ok)

Adrien is almost akumatized by his own fucking father TWICE (the only fucking reason Gabriel didn’t akumatize Adrien the first time was because he didn’t have a fucking alliance) I HATE THAT MAN IF THEY EVEN TRY TO JUSTIFY HIM IM OUT

And Tikki and Plagg choose to revoke the miraculouses from Marinette and Adrien for them to be togetherrrr.

Now listen, I understand where theoretically this could be a bittersweet, allowing kids to be kids so to speak, but like. The reasoning is driving me crazy

Like the way the Kwamis and show really decided that romance and teenagers dating is more important then the fate of Paris (especially when that entire relationship sucked to begin with and had so much stalking and red flags) but also the way there’s literally no nuance?

Like what happened to Adrien’s entire “chat noir is the only time I truly get to be me and escape from my constricting life” shtick? What happened to Marinette’s… well I would say her commitment to Paris and saving the Kwamis, and also caring about chat noir, but literally none of these end up sticking in the end, BUT THERES LITERALLY NO NUANCE ANYMORE!

Like the minute the kwamis leave with the miraculouses the only indication we get of Adrien (not even marinette) being sad about not being a hero anymore is his abusive dad saying “his sadness has gotten greater” for a few seconds, AND THEN THEYRE INSTANTLY HAPPY?!

Adrien just rushes to confess to Marinette, and Marinette is suddenly super in love with Adrien, WHICH PROVES NOTHING THAT THEY EVER HAD GOING ON WITH THE HEROES EVER MATTERED?!

Adrien no longer cares about his freedom or his image OR PLAGG because “oh yeah I have marinette so I’m complete!” And Marinette NEVER CARED FOR THE KWAMIS CHAT NOIR HER MISSION OR ANYTHING!!! These two are suddenly as happy as they ever were with no fucking problems in their life!

While the new heroes (yeah btw Alya and Zoe are the new heroes, it’s kinda bland, Zoe is only there to show how much better she is in comparison to Chloe, and her design IS UGLY) are fighting, Marinette and Adrien don’t even show a glimpse of worry, or paranoia, or even an instinct to go fight or “call the heroes” as they do! They legit don’t fucking care and CUDDLE!

The show legit said “yeah all these seasons of these heroes fighting for Paris and truly being influenced by their hero lives? YEAH THAT NEVER MATTERED LOOK GUYS THEYRE HUGGING!”

And I would even be ok with it if the show wanted to go down the road of “yeah being a hero is awful and no one in their right mind would ever want to do it but would rather have the messed up compulsion to help others” BUT THEY DONT DO THAT!!! The show is still like “they’re meant to be!”, they’re still heroes in the next episodes, and literally it seems the only reason they’re still heroes in future episodes, is because the new heroes instantly got tracked down! So they have no motive to be heroes, and no compulsion to be heroes and they don’t seem to be affected from their hero lives, so none of it matters!

There is literally no more nuance or care put into being a hero in this show (the new heroes were pretty much randomly selected teens again, rather then i don’t know, ADULTS? I get that this is a magical girl show, but it would be so cool to show adult heroes handling their emotions and powers better then teens and being role models) and the show legit sacrificed any chance of nuance or character motivation it had for the love square! That’s just bad writing!

But yeah I’m going to go scream into a pillow, call me when part 2 is out

NEW DOLLS to report............ Gore-ganizer Draculaura - for a while i was not planning on getting her cuz of the price and how simple the doll was.. but.. i also just loved her face details so much that i caved in. and now her face details are probably my favorite of the g3 dracs so far! so i am glad i got her. I also use the organizer thing to store my 40000 unused MH accessories. so thats nice. it took a long time to get here tho for some reason..?? Ghouls Rule Frankie - so.. this dolls kinda old! (2012 wow!) but i got them new in box from a seller on ebay. i was not planning on getting this one but the person selling gave me a discount so i just... kind of impulse grabbed it.. i always wanted more old MH dolls that are “new” in box and i really liked the face details on this one, so i am glad to get them! the only other old MH doll i have “new in box” was my neigthan rot. so im happy to have two of them now. unfortunately, frankie has mega glue hair but i suppose thats to be expected.. i kinda doubt i’ll do anything tho cuz the hair is already like, styled in a certain way so it sorta doesnt matter. lol also: man i love the designs and color schemes of the older MH dolls but i always feel like im gonna snap their little arms..!! i have to say i like how the new G3 mh dolls feel to pose and such much more. they just feel a lot sturdier!  Shadow High S2: Dia Mante - i love that she has short hair but god damn. the glue. i washed mine once because it just was so nasty to touch and now theres like, some random tinsel hairs poking out so she looks crazy but its fine. i also dont really like the shade of purple used for her base but i love the outfit. i kind of hated seeing the new shadow high series 2 because they just.. dont look like shadow high dolls tome (but what do i know ig) i just wanted more monochrome grey/black/white dolls. i thought they looked so good that way! i feel like theres a lot of repetitive purples in this series too. either way, i have warmed up to the new line up but i just ended up having to not think of them as shadow high dolls for me to like them more LOL Shadow High S2: Zooey Electra - This one was my clear fav of the group and the one i wanted the most so im happy to have her! i love the alien look and her brown eyes are pretty cute too. i wish she had 2 outfits tho ngl.. i miss that feature LOL.. mine also has a slight factory defect (or im suspecting) cuz her ear holes are kinda higher than normal and the earrings fall out super easily. one of her arms can hyper extend/bend backwards and the other one really struggles to bend. theres also like a tiny mark on her leg. either way, i still love the doll. i think cuz its so simple in design the flaws stick out a bit more lol Shadow High S2: Reina “Glitch” Crowne - Yeah! i liked her a lot. she reminded me of the 2 pack twins so she at least felt like one of the “more colorful” SH dolls that still felt like. part of SH. i like how her undersuit looks when you take off her dress thing. mine also doesnt have too much product in her hair but i havent washed it yet. even tho i feel like shes really simple, i really like the face makeup. Besides that, i still think i like S1 of shadow high way more and felt way more excited to get more of the dolls.. but these are still pretty nice and i like that they’re cheaper lol. thats it for now

ARTFIGHT 2023 COMPILATION POST

hi hi hi i didn’t get much done this year but i really like all the attacks i did get to! work has just been so hectic :,)

First up is Raindrop, owned by @/M1lkdraws on instagram!!!! i actually still really like this one and i’m glad i’ve come so far when it comes to drawing anthros :3

Next is Piña by @yo-no-fui3 !!!! She was on my bookmarks list since last year and i just had to draw her! Like i said in my original post, the color space of krita go really weird on my which is why there’s some discolouration around the gradients; i eventually fixed it by factory-settings the app but by then the damage was done finding. still i really really like how this turned out, she’s so freakin cute

And the third attack is Taz, she’s a dnd character played by @/Fruuths on instagram! I experimented a lot with my shading on this one abd im not sure how i feel about that, but overall i’m pretty happy with this piece :D

Fourth is Crystal! She’s so freaking cute and she belongs to @/godtegnomen on instagram! I love love love the way this came out and even though i purposefully tried for a messier/less time consuming linework style, it actually came out looking fantastic (in my eyes) and was SUPER fun to work on!

The fifth attack is on my boyfriends character Reyner!!! I really meant to do a digital version since the attack he did on me was so amazing and intricate but i didn’t get to it in july :( stay tuned tho :3 he’s @juiceb0x !!

Next is @abstractredd ‘s Lilith. uhhhhhhh boobies. i really like how the pose came out! hair shading is something i have to work on however, although i do like this i’m interested in trying new styles!

Next is Tila by @always-any-art !!! she’s so cute i just had to do an attack on her!!! i drew her on night shift and finished up the colouring at home :) she’s so frckin cute i love her fins and tail and silly hair

Last but not least is Sunny! Shes a big monster shifter who belongs to @/ellie.j.raws on instagram!!! I designed a short of halfway point of her transformation because i really wanted to do the best of both worlds! also i’m still not great at drawing reptilians yet :,)

But yeah!! That’s artfight 2023! I was on team vamps, i wish i could have contributed more but i was just too busy. i’d love to do art trades or something sometime during the rest of this year, though! I love drawing people’s character :)
