I'm sad because I know to my core I still love the witcher Netflix because I'm a fantasy slut, and there's jaskier and everything blah blah blah.
But after ofmd it feels so bleak. Why am I wasting so much energy on something that I know doesn't even want to satisfy me? Everything is about "the big bad world where nothing is fair and everything sucks" and I just don't have that kind of energy anymore.

I can’t believe I went through all of Season 2 assuming Nina was the stand-in for Crowley when you actually pay attention it’s so CLEAR that she’s Aziraphale. I was tricked by her spiky, sarcastic, cynical outer shell and lulled into a false sense of security by Maggie’s bubbly optimism and wholesome goodness, because on the surface they reflect the ineffable husbands perfectly, in their personalities, their aesthetics, even many of their actions and morals. but not, and this is the real key, when it comes to their “relationship”. but those first impressions really had me damn fooled.
I missed the blatantness of Nina’s “we’re just friends. actually we’re not friends. we barely know each other.” the same thing Aziraphale said in season 1.  the way he still struggles to quantify their friendship when Nina asks. Nina’s sarcasm when Crowley asks about rain and awnings because it worked for him (we all know it LMAO). hell, that whole convo the girls have in the rain is so AziraCrow (“I know. I’m not your type” “...You have no idea” hits so much harder the second time, help meeeee.) “Lindsay” maybe being symbolic of Heaven and Aziraphale’s toxic relationship with them and their abuse? (the handwritten text messages in red pen make me think of angry notes on paperwork, anyone else?) because Crowley has never actually cared about what Hell thinks of him, just not getting into trouble (or him or Aziraphale getting hurt). Maggie is always chasing Nina. NINA NEVER GOES IN THE RECORD STORE. Just like Crowley always goes to the bookstore, to Aziraphale, Zira NEVER WENT TO THE FLAT (apart from The Swap but that doesn’t count imo). Crowley has always chased Zira, not the other way around. Always there to rescue him, always going to him for company, always relying on their shared connection, always US. OUR SIDE. All through season one, he comes to Zira every time to work together, never trying to work alongside Hell in any way that isn’t to save their skins or Earth, while Zira hides things from Crowley because he STILL thinks Heaven is ultimately good and will do the right thing if he can just show them. fix it from the inside.
Maggie working up the courage to finally say something, to put herself out there, while Nina is utterly oblivious and then when she does realise Maggie has feelings, becoming standoffish, putting up that barrier, fighting it, denying it, ITS SO CROWLEY AND AZIRAPHALE IN THAT ORDER. the way I was fooled into thinking Nina’s trust issues are Crowley because he does have trust issues ofc he does BUT Crowley has ALWAYS TRUSTED AZIRAPHALE. has always relied on him. has always been hurt when Aziraphale doesn’t immediately reciprocate the way he expects (the holy water request, the bandstand, the “off in the stars” etc). he’s always the one putting himself forward. Aziraphale has always been the one to second guess everything, to fight their connection, their similarities, their friendship. the girls really made me think it was going to be okay when they sat Crowley down, even as my inner sirens were going haywire about Metatron interfering, they were telling Crowley he just needs to open up and it’ll all work out BUT HE’S ALREADY AT THAT POINT. he may not say it, and by gosh is that part of their damn problem, but he’s always SHOWN IT. he’s not Nina who needs time to heal and recover from her broken trust, he’s always been Maggie believing it doesn’t matter, they’ll end up together in the end anyway AND I WALKED RIGHT INTO THE TRAP THAT THIS MEANT THEY WERE GOING TO BE OKAYYYYYYYYYYY

I feel like I'm going insane.
Why does Gale's "good ending" if you don't date him imply that he gets back with Mystra.
Why does the grown ass woman who intentionally isolated 17-year-old Wyll and trapped him in a relationship get to hang out in your camp (and potentially sleep with you).
Why do the writers (head writer and literally Wyll's personal character writer included!) have so little respect and tact when talking about their characters' traumas only when they are male and their abuser is female.
Nobody would find it funny if the Christmas animatic had Astarion blush at a picture of Cazador. Nobody would think it was "a good resolution" if Karlach saved and then dated Gortash at the end of the game.
And the characters aren't treated well outside of their relationships either, the writers love to laugh when people call Wyll boring or Gale annoying. I dunno what's worse: all the extra in-game dialogue calling Gale pathetic, or the fact that Wyll barely has any additional dialogue at all. With the additional factors of Wyll being the only Black companion and Gale being the only one with a disability that is somewhat "inconvenient" to the player (because God forbid a person need help), it just comes across as implicit bias from the writers themselves. To create these representations and then shit on them for traits that not only may be relatable to your audience, but traits that you gave them.
When Neil accepted the award for best performance he told people who relate to Astarion that "you are not alone." It's a beautiful sentiment, but paired with writers fetishising Wyll's abuse and saying Gale's best ending is the one where he kills himself, it comes across as though for POC, the chronically ill/disabled, or male victims of women, the statement does not apply.

Actually I think we should talk about how incredibly fucked up it is for sapphic women to say shit like "I'm no better than a straight man 😔" when attracted to a woman in a way that isn't 100% pure and wholesome, or act like men's attraction to women is inherently dirty, predatory, or objectifying.

Ascendant girlies are like "Omg you have to pass a Persuasion check to convince Astarion not to do the ritual! That means you're coercing him and forcing him away from doing what he truly wants!"
Meanwhile I was genuinely surprised at how easy it was to convince him not to do it. Like I thought I'd have to pass two checks at least. That he'd have counterarguments. Maybe even use different arguments depending on their relationship up until this point.
Some ppl really stumble at the first hurdle, huh.

no i am not over how one of the first things kris does of their own accord without our input is to lay down their life for this weird ipad kid they met five hours ago no i am not over "hell yeah i am here to humiliate you fucker" no i am not over "did you miss me? because i missed you!" no i am not over how much not only susie but also kris (and ralsei) genuinely care about their new adopted little cousin guy and the fact that he went from having no friends at all to 3 ride or die bffs who were willing to do what every adult in his life failed to do which is stand up for him i-

Fun fact, in Chinese belief, two moles beneath the eyes mean misfortune and bad luck, as well as turbulent love life. It fits for Vasco.. considering his napkin gets ripped up. :(

There's more to praising than just "Good girl":
"I wish you could see how pretty you look right now"
"You deserve this"
"I know you can do better than that. Come on, my love. There we go, good girl"
"I'Il always come back to you*
"You're taking me so well"
"Look at you, doing so well for me"
...

as someone who got frog-boiled into accepting abuse, the best advice I can give you is that the FIRST time your partner does something that makes you uncomfortable, you need to stand up for yourself. don't brush it off because you think it's a random blip.
the first month I knew my ex-spouse, they snapped at me over something silly in a way that felt controlling and demeaning, and I put it down to a long, tiring day and said nothing. that was a mistake.
because now, looking back at it, I know that if I'd said "hey, that came across as a little more hurtful than I think you meant it to, can I ask you to try not to talk to me that way?", they probably would have doubled and tripled down, and yelled at me a bunch for "not accepting their way of communicating", and we probably would have broken up.
and I probably wouldn't be here, seven years later, trying to heal from a relationship where their ever-increasing aggression regularly resulted in me hiding behind furniture while they screamed about how offensive it was for me to be scared.
you can tell a lot about someone from how they take feedback in a relationship, but only if you remember that you are worthy of taking up the space needed to voice that feedback in the first place.

Your Place in the Eyes of a God

Being under contract, you weren't exactly overjoyed at the fact that you didn't own your own soul, but at least your contractor wasn't a monster, right? At least he was sweet, and funny, and charming.
And oh was he charming.
That is how your soul ended up chained to his after all.
He was always so kind to you. He treated you as if you were a friend—a person.
He had taken you out for meals; showed you off from time to time. He had adored every single gift you ever gave him. He had always asked you to smile because he just found you oh so
"Lovely," He said.
And it filled your head with clouds every single time. His soft compliments never failed to make you forget where you actually stood.
So, you never really expected things to change so quickly. So drastically.
You desperately slapped your hands over your mouth, clasped tight against your lips to silence even the smallest whimpers that threatened to slip out. You pressed against the wall, hiding, maybe if even hoping that it would open up and swallow you whole. Take you some place else—anywhere else—but here.
You watched with wide, teary eyes, unable to look away.
It was hard for you to connect the charming man you fell for with the nightmare of a creature you saw looming over Husk.
That thing that threatened to rip the poor man's soul apart couldn't possibly be your Alastor, right? There was no way that was your sweet, funny, charming Alastor.
But those hands that yanked at the chain were unmistakably the same ones that gently combed through you hair at night.
That smile he held while he threatened the man was unmistakably the same one you woke up sweetly to almost every morning.
That voice, albeit distorted more than usual by static, promising wicked acts, was unmistakably the same voice that softly greeted you good morning, asking if you had a good rest.
There was no mistake. There was no denying it.
"Understood," You barely hear Husk's frightened response.
"Lovely," Alastor praised before he left Husk shaking on the ground by his feet.
You felt your heart sink immediately.
Lovely. The word echoed in your head, your blood now ran cold.
Lovely. The mockery, the disdain, the obvious threat to obey him or else. You didn't think such a simple word could hold so much malice.
"I can't wait to wear that new necklace you got for me!"
"I got you this tie because it just seemed like it was your style!"
"Of course, I'm smiling! I'm with you, aren't I?"
You didn't notice when your knees finally gave away under you. You didn't notice when you started crying. Your body simply crumpled to the floor as you continued to press your hands against your mouth, silencing the sobs that ripped through you.
Alastor had already left. You didn't need to hide around the corner anymore. You were safe now.
No. Have you ever truly been safe?
Because what was his response? What did he say every time you followed his requests? Every time you excitedly handed him whatever trinket you thought he'd like? Every time you smiled for him?
Lovely. The word rang in your ears.
Lovely.
It wasn't a compliment, you realized.
It was never a compliment. It was a praise. A praise for being such a good, obedient pet.

up thinking about the bonnie and charlie kelly tragedy again. ohh their relationship is so not normal. she loves him in a way that she doesnt realize is selfish she never taught him to read or take baths he probably found out the stove was hot from touching it. bonnie's relationship with charlie is inherently abusive but shes not some mastermind or criminal she is just a very ill woman who doesnt realize when shes being manipulative or when what she calls empathy is actually just fear or sadness for herself.
charlie spent his whole life parenting his mom back and coaching her through her episodes and internalizing her superstitions and compulsions and in the end he didnt break any kind of cycle he just ended up worse than she is. he doesn't speak to her now he never even calls her he hates being around her... hes a dick to her maybe more than she deserves but in charlie's mind it's not about what she was trying to do its about what she ended up doing to him in the end. she depends on him in a way he never could on her. charlie could never be a dad and maybe its because bonnie kelly wasnt really ever a mom to him but also what else could she have possibly been but a mother. so much of her is reflected in him and they are so entirely unalike and he hates even thinking about her but he also won't leave philadelphia because she's in it and isnt it all so sad and strange
