I think why Endhawks is so cathartic for me is that you have two people who have been through a bunch of trauma and made fucked up choices because of it and are both terrified that deep down that they aren’t worthy of love, that they’ll end up alone, that they are inherently bad.

And they are trying, trying so hard to change, to be good, to be lovable.

And they accept each other so easily. Like yes I see you. I see you trying so hard. You’re not hard to love at all. You are a good person at heart and that’s why you try so hard. I won’t flinch away at the hard, sharp edges of you because mine fit together with yours.

And it hits me right in my trauma core.

I just love them. Anyway…

Forgiveness is so badass. It’s SO EASY to be angry at someone after a betrayal but when a character is soft and understanding instead it’s so much more impressive. Anger is innate, it takes strength to be kind.

Moved to procreate so I wouldn’t break goodnotes but I tried my best to recreate the brushes and am not using color picker :p surprised to say I kind of enjoy goodnotes more now that I’m used to the constraints of the program- the per-stroke selection and erasing is kind of really nice for color correction

I’m literally so ill at the fact that the second Satoru and Suguru split up, everything turned into a massive disaster.

Toji snuck up behind Satoru & in order to complete the mission, Satoru told Suguru to leave him to fight alone so that Riko could get to Tengen.

Suguru hesitated, he knew something bad was going to happen because they always did everything together, and when they did things always turned out fine. But Satoru kept assuring him and so he did it. He left.

And what happened?

Satoru defeated, broken, ‘awakened’, mission failed, Suguru’s internalization of ‘evil monkeys’ catalyzed—

Nothing was the same after that. It all went to hell the moment they tried to do things apart. It just ‘dominoed’ from bad to worse to catastrophic from there.

sakura knew better than to be needlessly reckless with her life.

an insight her fellow team seven members unfortunately didn’t share. 

sasuke did anything to achieve his goals, even if it hurt him or the people around him. naruto had a hero complex bigger than the sky; if dying meant saving just one person then it would have been worth it. it was admirable, and so very naruto it hurt. 

sakura wasn’t like them. she didn’t have all-encompassing goals and determination, and she knew she was too selfish to ever be considered a hero. 

what good is she dead? why lay down her life when she could come up with a strategy that would save people and ensure herself one more day? 

it wasn’t easy work being a shinobi, a fact that slapped her in the face when she was younger. being a hero meant being a memory. she was content to leave the heroics to the others.

she ignored the voice screaming otherwise. 

she wasn’t like her teammates. if she tried any of the careless acts they’ve carried out she’d be dead. she’d be another lost comrade to avenge. she didn’t have naruto’s endless stamina and chakra, or sasukes precise hits and powerful jutsu. 

she was sakura haruno, a clanless shinobi destined to be left behind. stuck staring at naruto and sasukes backs.
