#I'm not sure I'm the best person to try and break down the aspects of his characterization considering that I am BY FAR more invested

What do you think is up with the male protagonist of Apothecary's Diaries???
Prefacing this by saying that I'm about two-thirds of the way through the show, so I don't really, completely know all of what Jinshi's deal is. Nonetheless, I shall try and collect my thoughts so far!
Spoilers through episode 16 of The Apothecary Diaries under the cut.
Jinshi is an odd character for me to try to define. Because I do genuinely find him annoying at times (and not just in an "All people are annoying sometimes and characters should have flaws to enrich their personalities and feel more real" kind of way), but...I don't find myself hating him.
For one, his interest in Maomao (despite her open and obvious abhorrence of a good portion of his behavior) isn't based in any of the story beats I hate that frequently accompany this kind of dynamic (i.e. "Interested guy maintains long-standing attraction toward disinterested woman"). It's not, "I hate women, except for this super special one who is my Only Equal," it's not, "She's the only person who doesn't fawn over me, so she's the only one here who isn't Completely Stupid," and it's not, "I think winning her over is a challenge that will prove how macho and cool and suave I am."
Jinshi is considered unearthly beautiful, to the point where people are constantly making passes at him, leaving him creepy gifts to express their obsession, and trying to slip him aphrodisiacs to push romantic and/or sexual contact on him. It's so bad that he can't have younger servants, no one except his older attendants (and later Maomao) is even allowed to see him when he wakes up in the morning, and he has to bar the doors to his office at night. Despite her consistent disdain toward his antics, Maomao is, paradoxically, the only person in Jinshi's relative age range who actually sees him as a person; because her hatred of his behavior means she's evaluating him for something other than his beauty. Even if she doesn't often like how he presents himself to her, her judgment of him is based on who he is and what he does, rather than how he looks.
And this lends a level of nuance to the show that I think prevents me from just being frustrated at Jinshi and that being the end of it. There's other nuance there, too: he does take his political work seriously; he obviously possesses significant analytical ability, and is pretty good at fighting, but doesn't think those qualities mean anything because he doesn't supremely excel at them (which, wow, what a mood, as the kids say); he tries to play nice with Lakan despite finding him incredibly off-putting because he knows it'll help keep things stable. Jinshi has some. Trouble. With personal boundaries (more on that in a second), but we are shown that he has some standards. He's willing to let Maomao go when he thinks that's what she wants. He seems genuinely horrified at Lakan's predatory comments about the courtesan he was attracted to, and at Maomao's story of how she got kidnapped. He pays for Maomao's removal from Verdigris House, but this only happens after he makes a comment to her about it and she says that it might be a good idea. And (at least so far, again, I haven't finished the show yet), when he takes her on as his personal servant, he never considers using that position to order her to accept his romantic advances. He definitely has some flaws (and I can understand if those flaws make him too off-putting to care about to some people). But I do recognize and respect the obvious effort that was put into making sure Jinshi doesn't come across as a one-dimensional character.
I've seen a theory that his, uh...less-than-stellar understanding of day-to-day personal boundaries are related to all of the things I mentioned above, in regard to how doggedly people keep pursuing him. (My sincerest apologies to whoever wrote that post, I tried to find it again and I can't.) And I do think this makes sense--that he internalized a lot of negative behaviors from his immediate environment and the way people act toward him. (I even think you could argue that, since beauty is so important for women in this setting--to the point where it's almost seen as a necessity--extreme physical attractiveness is more broadly viewed as a "feminine" quality. And since Jinshi possesses this """feminine""" quality, plenty of people treat him the way they would a woman: as an object to be looked at and obtained for clout.) I think it's also worth noting that Maomao only really responds positively toward him when he's not being flirty or pushy, during moments where he's being genuinely thoughtful (like the hairpin giving scene, Jinshi taking her to the infirmary after ingesting poison at the garden party, and catching her when she falls off the wall after drinking with Ah-Duo). So, between the deeper aspects of Jinshi's characterization, the fact that he does clearly have some principles, and the specific way Maomao's reactions to him are framed, I still find myself interested in seeing what will happen with him next.
All of that being said. I also frequently find myself going, "Dude. Wtf." And given my own personal preferences in characters and the types of relationships I like to see (which I will not get into because it's not particularly important and this response is already very long), I doubt that will change during these upcoming episodes.

MYSTERY MAN
starring itoshi rin!
synopsis: you decide to go watch rin's football practice for the first time, much to his delight. his teammates struggle to figure out who you are and what you've done to their usually very grumpy rin.
requested by @checkoutmyflow! i hope i did your rq justice ^^
notes: first time completing a request! sorry for the wait >.< ALSO this is gn!reader :)

admittedly, you weren't much of a football fan, even though your boyfriend was a professional college player. you didn't really understand the sport, as you hadn't played it since second grade gym class, but for some reason, you had decided that today, on this sunny tuesday afternoon, you were going to drop by rin's practice alongside a football-for-dummies book to watch and hopefully learn a little about the sport he was so enamored with.
it would appear that they were in the middle of a practice match, as his teammates and him were wearing different colored pennies, and there was someone keeping score on a whiteboard.
you sat down on the bleachers quietly, not wanting to distract anyone from the game. your eyes scanned the field quickly, almost instantly finding rin's unique dark green hair. you tried your best to keep up with what was happening, quickly flipping through your book whenever someone did something cool to try and find it, but it proved to be quite difficult, and you found yourself very confused at the sport's intricacies.
despite your lack of understanding, the one thing you could observe and comprehend was how alive rin looked whilst playing. he was sweating, shit-talking, and scrambling around the field non-stop, clearly very tired, but his eyes had a certain glimmer to them that you didn't get to see often, and he moved around the field with immaculate grace and precision. you watched as he skillfully maneuvered around the field and how he seemed to be able to calculate exactly where his opponent would go. you didn't have to understand the sport to know that this field was a place where itoshi rin shined like no other.
rin took hold of the ball and began dashing across the field with it, his shiny hair blowing behind him. his eyes began darting around the field, his brain taking in and calculating every factor necessary to victory.
his brain certainly didn't expect to see you, his lovely s/o who knows nothing about football, sitting on the bleachers.
your eyes made contact for a brief moment before rin tripped over his own feet and flew forward, making literally everybody on the field stop what they were doing.
a brief moment of silence washed over the field before laughter soon took its place, his teammates jogging over to him asking if he was ok, and what the hell just happened as they howled in mirth.
he grumbled some excuse with red cheeks as he looked away, clearly very mortified. his coach decided to call a break, seeing as everyone had already stopped playing, and he grabbed his water before practically sprinting over to you.
"y/n," he breathed as he came to a stop in front of you, puffing a little from fatigue. "you're here."
you giggled. "hi, rin. i thought i should come watch one of your practices. i want to get to know all the aspects of your life, after all."
he leaned in closer to you to brush his hand against yours as you two chatted a bit. anyone could see the way his eyes softened as you spoke and how his shoulders relaxed at your every move. anyone even being his pretty-damn-stupid team.
in the distance, bachira, isagi, chigiri, nagi, and reo murmured amongst themselves, wondering about who you were - the mystery person mr. im-better-than-you-and-grumpy-all-the-time rin looked so happy to see.
"his sibling, maybe?"
"nah, i'm pretty sure sae is his only sibling."
"oh! what about his parent, then?"
"dude, do you have eyes? way too hot to be a parent."
"his lover, maybe?"
there were a solid 5 seconds of silence before they burst out into laughter once more.
"get out. itoshi rin, an s/o? no way in hell, dude."
"i doubt he could even keep anyone for more than a month. they'd get tired of his attitude real quick and leave just as fast."
"rin-chan probably isn't capable of loving anyone, after all."
despite their adamant denial of your relationship with rin, they could all notice rin's demeanor. he looked happier, more at ease, gentler, kinder, and overall, he looked like a normal person. who were you, and what had you done to their rin?
coach blew his whistle, and they watched as you gestured for him to get back with his team. they then watched with their jaws on the floor as he, itoshi rin, POUTED and SWEETLY PLANTED A KISS on your forehead before jogging off.
they all exchanged looks of pure shock as rin jogged back to them.
they all gave him a shocked look as he raised a brow.
"...what?"

What why??
Theres a few reasons! I do want to clarify that I do like Saint and their campaign in a bubble, and still like downpour as a whole, they're just the most 'off' in terms of overall.
This is going to be very messy, and I haven't fully yet made up my mind on a lot of things
For starters Saint themselves... Downpour is for-sure less grounded in naturalistic biology than RW vanilla- and thats fine. The base game slugcats are all relatively mundane for a reason, but that also means their overall variety is limited- so downpour mixes that up with a bit of a fantastical slant and then tries its best to re-ground it various ways (Spearmaster is genetically modified, Gourmand is just very smart and very big, Artificer is implied to have been mutated by a toxic environment, rivulet is just fast and evolved for increased flooding). The issue with Saint here is that they are, by far, the most ungrounded in any sort of reality and a bit more 'magical'- but that aspect isn't really explained past maybe a short nod in the general direction of something. This isn't exactly a flaw in itself, but it does mean we have something immensely powerful in a way that's very... contradicting to the general vibe of the world. Especially as a little animal. Something like that can work, but its hard to make work, especially in a world set up like RW is. And then the campaign itself... for starters, I think its one that naturally going to be very polarizing depending on the way you read various things about RW- the characters in it, the things it touches on, and your own personal outlook on life. I'm a nerd for evolution and 'life finds a way' type stuff, and for me Saint goes a little too far in direction I don't really vibe with. Its really hard to explain here, but I'll try. For probably the most minor thing, the environment. There's a sort of undercurrent that the frozen over tundra of world as is a 'dying' environment. The undergrowth echo does add a counter to this mindset (By pointing out there is still life and beautiful blooming in a increasingly barren world) so its not the biggest thing, but its a outlook a lot of people tend to hold to begin with, so the ways it reinforces this is a little... sour? I suppose. Deserts and tundras and areas of low life are not dead or dying environments- they are their own ecosystems. They exist and are needed. Many things can not survive them. Many things can. Worlds and ecosystems are naturally always shifting and changing, and ecosystems like deserts and arctics stand equal to rainforests and coral reefs. We see some creatures have failed to adapt and died off, but so many others have begun to carve out their niches and are changing with the world- I think a tundra is a great metaphorical 'the world is shifting away from its old self' type thing. Everything being broken down and changed once more and a lot of things aren't surviving, some are, but changed. Metaphorically that is great. But Saint is there as a big, literal kill switch on the world (Small aside that yes, kill is an inaccurate descriptor. Ascension is by nature 'something else' than dying.) Its just a little... wrong, that the implied shift in what the world is- the last stains of the Ancient's being washed away into something new and independent, is being done with the literal removal of those remains rather than the natural clockwork of the world. Even without Saint there things would die and shift, iterators would crumple into nothing, buildings would break and become dust and rust- and from all that things would still claw their way to the next day. Their offspring and offspring's offspring would grow ever more different from them, until they hardly match. Something new would be borne from the dusts of an old one forgotten. Tundras would freeze over into something else, a change in the atmosphere would trigger a shift, and ice would melt into water once more. Thats another great big thing everything is a small part of. (For some reason if this space isn't here this whole post breaks?)
Its sad, but theres a beauty in the way things lead into each other- erased in anyway meaningful way but their ghosts still etched imprinted into the shell of the new. Both insignificant and yet strangely important. I don't think Saint is implied to 'succeed' at all, of course. I think its very much hinted at that they'll be at whatever mission they have forever. But is also feels implied that this mission is supposed to be the intended end of the Ancients' 'era', pieces bit by bit ascended, finally removed from this cycle they can't perceive themselves as even a part of- and that even with this there will still be something new that takes their place. Their whole goal is ascension, so it makes sense ultimately. But it just feels... something is off about it, and maybe thats entirely on me. There's something I just don't like about it. A long time ago I was asked about Saint and the void worms (you can read that here, although note this was pretty early into DP's release) and I do think at least part of that is the idea that Saint pulls control from things. The worms, buried deep in the void sea, the last step to ascension... Crossing yourself out feels like a weighty choice, but one you have to seek. So a sort of mobile ascension that does it for you, these lizards and bugs that couldn't possibly comprehend what ascension is, creatures that mostly just know survival and all its ills... it feels like it skips all that weight behind that choice. The underground Ancient, stuck midway, says it was never something they really wanted anyway, seemly contended to be in the in-between. An outlier for sure, but an outlier none the less- one that makes it clear that things can comprehend the weight of ascension and what it offers and understand the world and its ills and still want to be a part of it. What does that mean of Saint, a system that brings that to you, without say? Sure most of the creatures they ascend are simple things, the others are iterators- Beings designed to seek that solution and even want it for themselves but to barred from being able to achieve it. These are all things that it should feel good to grant the blessings of ascension too, that final peace that is neither living nor dying, but I just think about that echo and the way it makes it clear that many, if given the choice, would not want to be crossed out. I like it in a bubble, removed from those things, but I don't know how I feel about it in the greater scheme of things, as a sort of end to rain world. If there is one thing I do like a lot though, its the finale- with the worm. It gives Saint's place in the world a distinct sense of wrongness, something capped at the void worms. The void worms are just... still at the center. Something ancient and unbreakable. A rule of existence Saint doesn't- can't, bypass.

My Husband, My Monster|Part 9|William Afton x Wife!Reader
Tumblr media
(A/N: We're getting closer and closer to the end of this series, I'm still not sure how many chapters it will end up being but for now we'll keep pressing forward! Hope you enjoy and comment to be added to the taglist!)
WARNINGS: noncon, dubcon, manipulation, domestic abuse, yandere themes, forced marriage, forced pregnancy, stockholm syndrome, violence, mind breaking, misogyny, etc.
============================================
Thankfully the next funeral William had to go to wasn't that of someone he cared for. Now it was Henry's turn to feel the pain and loss he had, poor little Charlie, dumped in the alley, strangled but with no suspects to be found. What a sob story. But when his child died the world didn't care for the innocent life snatched away too soon, no they cared about the chance to drag down his name and his life's work. My how different they were.
Granted it had been William's own fault, his drunk escapades rendered him useless to think. Therefore Henry found the body before he could bury in launch an investigation. So far he couldn't be linked to anything, the cameras outside of the building had always been sketchy at best. And it could have been any old tie that killed her, his was normal enough if they found any fibers it couldn't be linked to him. He was free. Although he couldn't shake the uneasy feeling that Henry suspected it was him. Their relationship was never good, but now it was on a new low. Glares and whispers replaced civil conversation, they were both biding their time.
============================================
Months passed, Charlie's death had been officially branded a tragic random act of violence and the case was closed. Law enforcement after some time give up when it's not an open and shut case. Millions of tax dollars for this kind of justice. William didn't mind, lazy cops meant more fun for him.
His home life had never been better. His beloved wife was developing nicely, and she seemed to have come around to his behavior. She let him control more and more aspects of her life, where she went, how she dressed. The list went on and on. Her showing pregnancy also helped to limit the amount of time outside the house she could spend. And since his true personality of absentee husband did nothing to control her moods his newest role as caring husband who dotes on his pregnant wife seemed to work wonders on her pliable mind.
His son was still a handful, haunted by what he had done to his brother. Michael had gotten into a habit of sneaking out to find distance from the space that once held his younger sibling, it was driving his mother sick with worry. With a child on the way the less stress the better, so William agreed he would talk to the boy and try to ease his guilt. Trips to the now closed diner that killed his brother had it's intended effect. Michael, seeing the dried bloodstains and rotting animatronics plagued his mind with nightmares. Nightmares that they were coming after him now, William could hear him crying in his room with terror, lights left on so they couldn't come to get him. He learned to stay indoors in the dark.
The Afton family was growing and thriving, William had intended for them to forget at least a little of their recent loss, he wanted to be the bearer of their sorrows, so they would love him as much as he loved himself. They were flying high and nothing could bring them down.
==============================================
"Scrapping Spring Bonnie?" The outrage was impossible to conceal in his voice. "That was my character, he's what started this whole business!"
"We already have another Bonnie, so your suit doesn't fit William." Henry didn't even give him the decency of eye contact.
"Then he can be a floor animatronic, you can't just get rid of the original mascot-"
"To tell you the truth William parents are afraid of it, since that suit and Fredbear had the same mechanical system parents are hesitant to bring their kids near so there's not a repeat of the accident."
"My son has a name, Henry. He's not just "the accident"."
Henry holds his hands up calmly and apologetically. "Alright, I'm sorry. What tragically happened to Evan makes parent's warry to trust our animatronics."
"The kids loved it!"
"True but they can't if they're not coming since parents are so concerned."
"So what, I'll just hide away in my office like you from now on?"
Henry scratches the back of his head. "About that-"
"You're joking-"
"Listen William, out on the floor your behavior is...eccentric. And I think it's too much for the kids."
"I'm a partner to this company shouldn't I have a say what I do?"
"Technically William I own most of it. I could buy out your shares in an instant."
"So you get to push me around."
"I hate that you word it like that but yes."
William scoffs. "I can't believe you."
"Believe what you want." He turns around in his chair. "I'll expect that suit to be in parts and repairs by the end of the day."
William storms out, fuming with rage. How dare he? He was just reacting to his dead brat. Children mean so much to him yeah? Well lets see what he'll do next. For weeks that insatiable thirst for blood plagued his every sense. No longer. He'd oblige that craving, indulge that urge. If William couldn't run the restaurant like he wanted, he'd burn it to the ground.
============================================
Choosing the victim wasn't hard. Birthday parties at the Pizzeria always meant a lot of commotion and confusion, the little blonde girl just happened to be all on her own. He recognized her, Henry had given the girl and her family permission to hang up missing dog posters in the door window since he cared so deeply about children's happiness. The stupid girl even gave him bait with which to lure her into the backrooms.
Henry wasn't here today, no one would notice the security cameras being tampered with. They wouldn't see him putting on his favorite suit since the parts and service camera busted months ago. It felt like home, smelled like home. He remembered the first time showing his wife his disguise and how she had laughed at "how adorable he was". Now she was at home caring for their newly born Vanessa, probably hoping he had a good day. Good, he had become very fond of the woman he vowed to spend eternity with. He'd hate to lose her over something like this.
================================================
His approach started subtly, just another mascot approaching a seemingly depressed child to cheer her up. He put on his best cartoon voice and offered her a balloon animal dog.
"Hey there miss, I couldn't help but notice your frown. What's wrong? Parties are no fun if you're sad." It was corny and made him cringe, but it always had a response with the kids.
"My dog, he's missing."
"Aw, well I am so sorry to hear that. But wait, is that your dog in that poster?" He points, a part of him wishing this was over so he could at least talk like an adult.
She nods, making him grin under the mask. "Good news! I think I saw that same dog in the back of the Pizzeria."
The way her eyes light up almost causes him to laugh, so gullible and naïve. Believing everything anyone says, she almost deserves it coming. "Really!?"
"Come with me!" He offers his large hand, having her take it as he slowly and surely leads her into the parts and service room, keeping his grin hidden and excitement in check.
Once there in the dark she looks around curiously, waiting for her dog to jump out of nowhere. When it didn't happen she looked up at him confused. "Mister, where is my dog?"
The knife plunging into her stomach severed all further questions. Her mouth hung agape in shock and horror as he repeated the action again and again. Not stopping until he was satisfied with his work.
When he was finished, a smile carved into her face, a wave of panic washed over him. What now? What about the body? Where wouldn't they look? He couldn't get lucky a second time.
His thoughts raced and raced until he spotted Chica, in for some routine maintenance with her chest cavity wide open. Perfect for a little girl.
With the body carefully hidden, William allowed himself a chance to enjoy his work and to revel in what he'd done. Nothing beat a high like this, he had to keep chasing it. But what could he do in this moment? Another kill would be too hasty.
His thoughts wandered until they finally came to his wife, knowing that she would be willing to feed until this high wasn't enough anymore and he needed his next rush. And then the one after this.
William stared at all of the parts and machines around him, Henry's pride and joy.
"Just think old friend." He said to the silence. "Now your precious machines are as corrupted and foul on the inside as you."

What are your headcanons for the main five, if you dont mind answering. I really like your take on all of them (Especially Kyle!!) and id love to hear more of your takes on them, aside from what you include in your art.
I'm curious as to which headcanons you're really interested in, but I will do my best to try and cover as much ground as possible.
Keep in mind that this is all teen headcanon's (so like 17-18)
STAN: Doing his best to not fall apart at any moment. Home life is still pretty ass and Randy is a dickwad like always. Sharon is a good constant in his life, and she's become much more lenient with him over the years, knowing that he's got a lot of shit on his plate. Is still in Crimson Dawn because it helps him vent his frustrations. Worked rather hard to not be an alcoholic, but doesn't turn down drinking with Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny. Genuinely making an effort to try and take care of himself and trying to get Kyle to do the same. He is also going to be narrowly graduating by the skin his teeth with help from Wendy (who is simply a friend), and Kyle. He also became much more into protest groups, but to the dismay of his friends who are forced to watch hundreds of documentaries and listen to him read articles. (The intensity of this passion came from trying to find a purpose in life when he was at his worst, mentally.)
/\ Both like one another but have no clue where to go from there \/
KYLE: In desperate need of anger management classes. The pressure of always trying to be perfect and excel at everything caught up with him in about 6th grade, where he'd start trying to control every aspect of his life in the worst ways possible. Sheila and Gerald are completely blind to any of this, seeing as the grades never dropped, so they assume all is well. Despite that, he does still preach about self-care and the importance of letting out "pussy emotions" to the rest of his friends, who are all well aware of his issues (sh + ed) but aren't sure how to fix them. He is also Crimson Dawn's biggest supporter and is usually wearing the same shirt because he finds comfort in it.
CARTMAN: Thriving in his own sense. He still has an insane amount of unwarranted confidence, but he does still have some insecurities (the narcissism often cancels it out though). He has become more barrable with age, but that's not saying much. Somehow, he still can't grasp why no one outside of his friend group even likes talking with him. Has a thing for Wendy again, but it's very on again and off again between the two, seeing as Wendy will usually get bothered by him and then dip. Genuinely does care for his friends (in his own way), but masks it with insults and fighting. May or may not purposefully drive away all of his mom's boyfriends, afraid of losing her care and attention. - EXTRA: Worked at the sewerslide hotline as a joke for about a week before getting fired -
KENNY: Can't take a single thing seriously because if he does, it'll break him. Takes pride in being the most comedic person in the room, always trying to one up the next guy, typically with gross out humour. Spends most of his time away from home, unless it's to take care of Karen, but he often takes her out with him, even to his jobs. He still works at City Wok, but also picks up other odd jobs around town. Stan will also give him a shit ton of Randy's supply to sell around to minors as a way to get some extra cash. Similar to Stan, he's not doing so great school wise, seeing as he spends so much time working, and would rather be with friends in his free time, but Kyle also helps him to make sure that he's going to graduate. When it comes to his friendship with Marjorine/Butters, he's the main supporter, doing what he can to help out. -EXTRA: While he doesn't have time very often to do so, he does try and go out as Mysterion when possible)
BUTTERS/MARJORINE: Get this bitch out of her household now. After many years of uncomfortable confusion, finally came to the conclusion that being Marjorine was what she wanted. Despite an unaccepting homelife, she is very openly feminine once out in public, getting dressed into clothes she likes in public restrooms. Going to graze over the home abu$e we know occurs. She mainly hangs out with Kenny and everyone else when she can but spends a lot of time grounded. Getting a job at the mall has helped with being able to get some time to be herself. She also really enjoys being the guitarist in Crimson Dawn and is one of the few times she'll actually let negative emotions out. Although there is still the occasional outing as Professor Chaos.
As a whole, they're all still dickwads who love going around town and fucking shit up. They are NOT well liked because they're so obnoxious, and they're very likely going to be the ones behind random destruction and vandalism. They still love scheming and ruining the lives of others, but try to be less open about it as to avoid getting in trouble with the law as an adult.
(If you have any specific headcanon's you were looking for, feel free to send an ask! I'm not sure what it was you were looking for, so please let me know if I missed anything you were curious about.)

Hey there Slug! I hope you ain't too buys and might have a lil fun with this one! Of each individual character, what are your respective favorite songs of theirs and why?
This is an easy ask to answer, so I'mma clear it from the pile and get to some older ones eventually.
I assume you mean solo songs only, right?
Under a cut for length because there are a bajillion boys in this series
Ichirou: I like his VA's rapping work in just about everything; he's really solid. Stage Ichirou also has a youthful quality I appreciate a lot, but of the main series songs... probably Break the Wall. It's high energy in a fun way. It also ties into a creative project I've been chewing on for years that's near and dear to my heart, although I'm not sure if I'll ever put it to paper and share it anywhere.
Jirou: I think Jirou's VA has a very pretty singing voice, so I like his softer songs. In general, I admire the "softer" aspects of Jirou's character and think that's where he shines best. So probably School of IKB, although I adore his choruses in Re:start.
Saburou: Requiem. I'm very, very, very into things that commit to being over the top and goofy, and I also enjoy combining classical and baroque elements with other genres. What's not to like here?
Samatoki: Gangsta's Paradise. The high speed rap is technically compelling. I generally appreciate v. fast rap since I enjoy learning and singing them. If the stage plays count, I really enjoy the emotion Samatoki's stage actor brings to Come Back to Me.
Juuto: ...There is some interesting text in the Personality section of Juuto's wiki page. (I have it pulled up to quick reference the song lists.) If anyone with wiki edit powers is reading this, you may want to clean that up... Anyway, I feel like they give Juuto great background music in just about every song, but Uncrushable takes the cake for me. I really like the BG music in that.
Riou: Move Your Body Till You Die, hands down. Goofy as fuck. Also, great workout music.
Ramuda: I find his main voice pretty grating, and his usual styles of music aren't my favorite in general. So Ramuda songs don't do a lot for me. I appreciate Pink Colored Love for plot reasons, though.
Gentarou: The slower Hypmic songs rarely do a lot for me, but I found myself enjoying Yume no Kanata a lot. Not sure I know why, necessarily...
Dice: 3$EVEN was one of the first songs I really enjoyed in Hypmic, and I still like its high energy today. In general, I'm impressed by Dice's VA's rapping ability and appreciate his parts in group songs a lot.
Jakurai: Like I said earlier, I'm not usually a fan of slow songs, so none of Jakurai's solos or duets have ever stood out to me. With that being said, I think Jakurai's speech style and slower rhythms makes him more fun and easier to translate w/ full rhyme and rhythm than many other characters. Like I think Labyrinth Wall would be fun to do a full cover of with syllable matching rhymes and line length while simultaneously trying to stick as close to the core meaning and tone as possible.
Hifumi: Both Champagne Gold and Don't Stop the Party are high-energy bops and great for working out. Slight preference for the former. I also really like his singing voice in group songs.
Doppo: Doppo's angrier verses in group songs are fun, but I'm especially fond of BLACK OR WHITE. In particular, I enjoy the DOTAMA cover. I'm a big DOTAMA fan for both his lyrical strength and considerable rapping chops. He's got a lot of songs that are really punchy and angry in this exact vein, and I love throwing on a playlist of his stuff while grinding out tedious work projects. Hahaha. Just rapping along "I don't want to work. I don't want to work. I don't want to work. BUT HERE I AM, WORKING!!!!" furiously under my breath.
Sasara: Comedian Rhapsody is really fun. This is another song I would love, love, love, love to try and do a full translation w/ preservation of rhyme/line length/jokes. Not for sharing--at that point it's just kinda showing off--but it's fun to chew on bits of it when I have moments of free time.
Roshou: Like most of the slow song characters, Roshou's solos aren't my favorite. I guess I prefer Under Sail to Own Stage for its background music.
Rei: All of Rei's songs are wild to the point of me liking them for the goofiness. If you commit to the bit, I'll enjoy it 9 times out of 10. Doesn't matter what the bit is. Shiro to Kuro is probably my favorite. LOVE the "heh heh we are up to no good" NPC villain energy of that song. But also, shout-out to his singing in Enishi, even if it's nigh-on intelligible to me. I love the hell out of Enishi in general.
Kuko: The king of goof himself. Sou Gyaran BAM is probably my favorite, but I am--to some degree--into virtually every song he's in.
Juushi: Wow, I'm listed as a source on this wiki page, lol. Anyway. Juushi's aesthetic as a whole isn't my cup of tea, but I have a soft spot for Moonlight Shadow, because the first two times I heard it were on Spotify shuffle while I just so happened to be scrubbing a toilet. So for a couple months after, I would put Bad Ass Temple on every time I cleaned the bathroom. Hahaha.
Hitoya: One and Two, and Law is so fucking goofy. I adore it. The live version with the airhorn? Chef's kiss.
Otome: Fuck it, let's do the ladies too. Out of all of her musical appearances, I like Just Do It the most. It adds such an interesting strength to her character, and the English portions are done super well.
Ichijiku: Love, love, love her part in Verbal Justice for its strength. This is yet another song I think would be fun to do a hell TL of, and then I remind myself that trying to rhyme "Kadenokouji" in English is a fool's errand.
Nemu: Her singing voice in WINK is nice, but I love her part in Femme Fatale for its energy. "I'm Nemu, and this is my masterpiece" Fuck yeah it is

Do you have any tips or resources for someone who wants to get into drag?
hello there!
this is a good question! i don't have any websites or anything like that handy, but i'll make sure to include things as i find them!
my biggest piece of advice is to observe what other drag artists are doing. there's not a rulebook or anything like that, a lot of artists go in a lot of different directions with their looks! i think it's best to try to get some exposure to the community on a large scale when and where possible and to just see what others are doing
you can think about any potential themes you'd like to incorporate, like bimbo, doll, lolita, ballroom, camp, alternative, gothic, nonhuman, or time period specific looks! there are lots of styles for all types of drag artists, there are lots of drag kings out there as well and the inspirations and themes for outfits can vary wildly!
it's good to think about what you think drag is for you, too. what is your statement? what are you telling the world when you dress in drag? what are you parodying? what is it a satire of? what are you making fun of? what are you expressing? is it self love? is it showing the world this is who you are inside? is it commentary on how society views you? is it how you can have fun and look pretty at the same time? is it about breaking down binaries? having to over-perform womanhood, manhood, or nonbinaryhood? feeling like a caricature? and so on and so forth
once you have an idea of what you are expressing when you do drag, it can give you some more inspiration on looks. you are never locked into one look, having one name, being one type of performer. you can switch between being a drag queen, king, artist, and thing! there's nothing stopping you from having multiple drag personas, or not having one at all. you don't have to have a name or a specific persona if that doesn't suit you
if you want to have a specific persona, a lot of folks like to make their name or title some type of pun. i'm autistic and suck at cultural references, so i'm not great at lending a hand on this one! but some folks are able to come up with some hilarious names. humor is a huge part of drag so please don't feel like you can't be funny. drag can leave you crying laughing- some performers love to do comedy in drag and it rips!
you can also be serious, sexy, mysterious, playful, animalistic, nonhuman, alien, or childlike. it's totally up to you, there's no hard set rules, it's a very play it by ear kind of thing. above all else it is an artform, meaning it is highly up to interpretation. you don't have to necessarily layer your face up in makeup if that doesn't suit you. if you can find other ways to express yourself and have fun with gender and presentation that don't involve that, show people!
many performers also include cultural aspects of their ethnicity into their drag as well! i live in a highly diverse area with a lot of latine and indigenous performers and i have met a lot of local navajo queens who have incorporated fashion from their culture into their looks as well! drag's foundation is in black & latine ballroom culture, people of color have always had a massive hand in being the pioneers of drag, so don't be afraid to incorporate those themes into your performances and outfits if it feels comfortable to you
clothes and wigs can be thrifted depending on the area you live in, and your sizes. i have found great success (i.e. all of my outfits except my vests!) from thrift stores. it can take some looking but it is worth it. however, i do understand some folks struggle to find cute clothes for drag because their local area does not have great thrift stores. it is okay to do what you have to to find cheap clothes, if you do not have access to thrift stores that have a lot of variety, you can always look for consignment shops and other types of boutiques of that variety, and i do believe there are lots of drag closets online, as well as any other sites that you personally find clothes from that suits the aesthetic you're going for! you can find clothes for drag anywhere if you develop an eye for it
i would highly suggest browsing youtube for wig styling and makeup tutorials! i just kind of view my face as a canvas and paint on whatever i think would look cool, but for some of my looks i am learning how to play with light and shadow, so i highly recommend just browsing for tutorials for people who match your skin and hair type! i would highly recommend making sure you are specifying what type of hair you are working with when searching for tutorials
you can start playlists of songs to perform to if music is your thing, and you can also look up choreography for songs on youtube as well for ideas, if music will be involved in your performing. it's definitely not necessary though, and many folks dress up and spend time in drag to socialize, not to sing and dance, which is totally fine as well! comedy, book readings and cooking tutorials are just a few other things that folks like to do while in drag! you can do a lot or nothing at all it's really up to you
i hope this helps! if we come up with anything else, we'll add it! you can also ask any more specific questions you'd like! we hope this was a good place to start off from!

I would like to give my two cents on the Azul being jealous of Ruggie situation. Sorry in advance for my ramblings!
Azul puts a lot work into getting Jamil to like him, so I think it would hurt his pride to see someone else succeed without even meaning to. He is offering a way better deal than Ruggie, so why would Jamil refuse to accept his friendship? He may be a calculating bastard, but is Ruggie really that different, sucking up to people all the time for his personal gain? Surely Azul is simply not trying hard enough. Or maybe he just hasn't found the right approach yet. Kind of like that vignette where he lost a game of chance against Idia and as a solution he decided to get better at rolling the dice, instead of accepting that there are simply some things that he cannot control. And I agree that Jamil would get the brunt of it. If this is a game, he is both the opponent and the goal
(related to this reply)
Yeah, I agree with you, Anon! I feel like this is where Azul’s mind would immediately go to. He’ll have a horribly hard time accepting the fact that Ruggie is, in fact, better than him in Jamil’s mind, and just like you said, this is something that Azul can’t control. And frankly, the fact that Azul would want and try to control it is going to just make him look worse, because this is exactly the thing that Jamil doesn’t like about him. Oh, the irony……
Azul would spend so much time sitting in silence with an angry expression trying to figure out just what is it that he’s lacking but Ruggie, who is OBJECTIVELY WORSE IN EVERY ASPECT, miraculously has. Oh, they’re probably just trying to piss him off..!

For suspicious and questionable things for Neige to do what about him collecting Vil's things
Oh Vil left a water bottle here? Mine now
Vil lent me this chapstick I'm going to use it and it will be like an indirect kiss
Maybe Vil wore a hat and Neige pulls out the hairs that were in it as part of his collection
He could probably escalate to breaking into Vil's house just to get some more things he's touched
He probably has a shrine dedicated to Vil complete with pictures of Vil that aren't from the public press shots meaning Neige followed Vil around and took those pictures
Ohhh, look at this stalker boy collecting things from his favourite idol~ That would definitely be a fun twist. I wonder what his dwarf friends think about this collection of his, even though the Vil shrine is definitely supposed to be a special hidden secret thing lol
Poor Vil not realising where his yoga pants are… don’t worry, Vil, Neige is definitely going to cherish them and love them <3
(I wonder if he’s going to stumble upon Rook at some point, because there is no way Neige would stalk Vil and Rook wouldn’t notice it at some point. He knows. He just allows it to continue happening…)

"Illia's out there hunting' sets a mental image that she just has a collection of bras from everyone, including Trein's granny bra and Idia is wide eyed finding out about it
(related to this nyo!twst reply)
Oh god this playful grandma… Someone needs to stop her, she’s out of control!!
Too bad Idia doesn’t wear a bra and can’t add anything to the collection lol

Epel seeing that Jack and Ortho are close to Vil. It made Epel so jealous on how Jack in which he has a crush on is more close to Vil while Ortho is a fellow freshmen gang friend that seems more close to Vil.
Jack and Ortho both have energies of that one classmate that your overly strict mom really likes and acts sweet with lol I think about it a lot and abuse this joke tremendously.
Vil, stop stealing your underclassman’s men!! I wonder how Epel feels about Vil and Jack being childhood friends…

Azuide wedding where Idia's best man is Ortho (OBVIOUSLY!) but it would be hilarious if the tweels fighting over to be Azul's best man since they want that position...but deep down wanted to be petty and mess around towards Azul which can anger Azul.
Also think of Oruvil in their wedding. Idia being Ortho's best man (although Idia is too nervous about this) and Vil with Rook. (And knowing Rook, he wants to be with them in their honeymoon)
Ortho is definitely best man, but he’s also the flower girl, the ring bearer boy, the father, and a lot of other things… he’s so excited, he couldn’t stop taking roles for himself!!
The tweels would definitely give Azul a headache with the fact that both of them apparently want to be best man lol Azul’s already super nervous about this whole thing, he spent so much time preparing everything and checking everything 1000 times over, and now at the very last minute (!!! THEY SEEMED FINE WITH IT BEFORE!!!) Floyd goes “hey, how come Jade’s your best man, that’s super unfair”. Azul’s face at that moment was absolutely priceless.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: no matter who Vil marries, Rook is always going to be there by his side, so there is no way he’s not with them in their honeymoon lol It’s just a matter of whether he’s open about it or not.

QUESTION
What do ya think Sebemalle's favorite position in bed?
Sebek would find anything other than a missionary to be absolutely unacceptably disrespectful to his liege, because t-taking him from b-behind sounds just…!! Appalling!! (And way too hot for Sebek to even consider) But Malleus wouldn’t find doggie insulting at all. In fact, when he’s in the mood to get his tail stimulated and his horns played with, doggie is a much better option.
In general, Malleus likes hugging, kissing and being in full body contact with the person he has sex with, so his usual go-to is missionary. But the tail thing + the fact that Sebek looks so amusingly shocked when Malleus rolls on his stomach makes him consider doing it in the doggie position more often.
(I also talked about everyone’s favourite positions in this post~ I can’t believe we have a post about this topic lol)
Anonymous asked:
not a request, (sorry if it comes off like that!) but have you ever made sebek x lilia art?
Please, read my pinned. We don’t ship them. If you’re talking about them not as a ship, I believe I haven’t drawn them together without Malleus being present as well.

Since you said you already know the ending, I can say my favorite part of the reveal that Quentin really didn't turn back to villainy is that the way talks make everything he says sound really suspicious and like he is preparing something nasty but no, his voice just sounds like that.
I think he sounded rather defeated to me.
(SORRY THIS GOT REALLY LONG. I AM SO SORRY THAT THIS IS LIKE THE LONGEST POST I'VE EVER WRITTEN. HEAVY Spoilers below the cut as I am going through that video in its entirety apologies for how ungodly long this is!!):
[tl;dr: this man is tired and depressed and needs a vacation and to keep trying to live a better life, distance himself from his past and keep trying. He also deserves like so much better. Holy heck did he deserve so much better]:
"Mysterio will always be a villain, just as Spider-Man will always be a hero" disappointed in a way, he tried his best and he shouldn't let that incident get him down from trying to turn things around for himself.
the road to a better life is never easy.
He was so happy, so eager and excited to show off his big new thing! One not meant for evil, but one as a harmless little hand reaching out to the people to try and not seem like a threat anymore. He was hopeful, you could hear it in his voice, it sounds a little broken, but he's trying. He's very much hopeful in the success of this big thing. The Mysterium.
Betsy, however, was very eager to mention the "free trial ends soon :))", Beck's response did sound a bit sinister in tone, though, I'll admit. "I'm sure he will."
Although... you could probably take that as him getting into character. He wants to make a good first impression, show everything off, he's very proud of it, that much is very clear. I mean, if he's getting into character, it's probably a little bit difficult to cut out the whole 'Mysterio' part of his personality if he had been doing it for long enough. He's just no longer doing it for evil reasons. Some people just kinda.. have that aspect to their voices, whether intentional or not.
Heck. His "Don't worry, I will be watching and listening. If at any time you begin to feel uncomfortable, just let us know." def sounds like a good security call. If anything went wrong he would know and be able to shut everything down as quickly as he could from the control system.
He sounds sad and and panicked, although doing his best to try and stay calm. He is working as fast as he can to try and stop whatever hack and interference was happening with his Mysterium while Miles was inside. heck, when he says "--get him out!" and "Yes, yes! We're having a bit of a malfunction.." you can def hear the panic and concern in his voice. This is not something he planned nor wanted to have happen.
"Oh dear.. I hope you're not hurt?" He. Is. Worried.
This man overall just sounds really.. sad. A bit depressed. None of this at all has been going as he had hoped nor planned. He wanted this to be a good and happy event, the big opening debut of the Mysterium and the other locations of the Mysterium around the city, too. Something everyone could come to and enjoy without fear nor harm.
"It's.. not that easy.. but we are trying!" the tone in his voice is regretful. He feels BAD about what's happening, that there isn't a quick way to simply shut it down.. at least not safely, as far as we are aware. "We're almost done, Are you still.. uhh.. Holding your own?" "Uhh.. Sit tight!.. Just.. A few more moments!" the Concern and Fear in his voice! He is hoping for the best with whatever Miles is going through inside the Mysterium where he cannot see. He is nervous, very much afraid of something extremely bad happening.
This man needs a break. he needs a stress free vacation.
He is forced to close the Mysterium for maintenance.
Miles escapes, you can see Beck's face, his reaction of relief of Miles's safety, but also the grief of the.. You can see Cole, the assistant's face with her own surprise at what happened, but.. you don't see Betsy's? That's.. a bit suspicious.
So far, the few instances with Betsy seem the most suspicious. Sure, you could make the claim that Beck is a bad actor and probably putting on the act and show that everything went wrong and that he is disappointed, but could very well be excited that everything was going according to plan.. but wouldn't you think that.. They would show him looking a little.. happy at some point about it? Or a few hints during his talk with Miles as everything was going down, where you could hear a snippet of him being gleeful?
Something seems off, and it's not Quentin Beck.
Later..
Miles: "How would I get hurt if it's just an illusion?"
Beck: "That, my friend, is what we're trying to find out." He definitely already knows how his illusions could be used to cause harm. And not just the psychological, but the physical kind, too. He is definitely on the verge of possibly breaking, what with his eerily calm stressed tone.
The sudden appearance of Mysterio inside this 2nd adventure into the Mysterium definitely seems off. It seems.. strange.
As well as "Beck"'s breaking point near the end with the final boss battle against him. It seems like a cruel mockery of his grief and desire to be respected.. it's almost like this Mysterio is like a replay of a past version of himself who didn't care if he were fear or not, he just wanted to stop being disrespected. It doesn't match at all with how he is shown to be before then every time we, the player, have encountered him. It just.. doesn't add up. Sure, I could be wrong, but.. well.. As we all know, that isn't true.
"This was not in the script!" Could be referring to a movie/scene script, but.. seeing as he was outside with the other two looking at a computer and trying to reverse the hacking.. It could be a "coding script" he is referring to. A code in the script that wasn't supposed to be there. (I am aware and can see it says that "Mysterio" says that line and not Beck, but shhh let me have this)
IN THE DEV LOG 1, BECK IS VERY ADAMANT ABOUT NOT WANTING TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH "MYSTERIO" IN ANY WAY ANY MORE. He doesn't like when Cole mentions that "people will still call you Mysterio" either. And he also doesn't seem keen WHY they want to record, what reason is there to record anything? Betsy mentions becoming famous.. Beck isn't very interested. That's definitely something to note.
You can already gather a whole lot from JUST that one. When beck pipes up after you listen, he seems disappointed and a bit passive aggressive toward the dev log. He seems to really not like it. Betsy, as he mentions himself, was more excited and enthusiastic about this project.. She, on the dev log, sounded more excited at the end prospect of becoming famous, gaining fame and by extension, fortune, most likely.
Beck just.. wanted to use what he has and knows to make a positive impression and impact, not for fame or anything, but as a means to change his life around. He is tired and you can very much hear that.
Dev Log 2: Definitely sounds like Betsy is just collecting data to create that false image of Mysterio. using the information she managed to corner and intimidate out of Quentin who really didn't want to and didn't see how it would be necessary for the idea that wasn't even really his in the first place outside of "putting together a prototype illusion that will blow your mind!" which he did seem excited about.
post 3rd victim rescue: Betsy does NOT sound at ALL concerned for what has been happening. She sounds way more concerned and interested in the prospect of getting a Spider-Man endorsement for the Mysteriums once they're back up and running again. She doesn't care that people are getting trapped inside, only about how famous and potentially rich she'll be after all of this if it goes according to her plan.... her plan of using and abusing Quentin for her own goals. Cole being her partner in this act.
Miles during the 4th rescue gets interrupted by a message above the initiation terminal "Listen to your doubt." Someone is trying to reach through and help Miles. Someone from the development trio. It DEFINITELY can't be Betsy nor Cole considering the 3rd Dev Log where they both laugh about Quentin Beck, talking about him while he wasn't even present. Cole calling him 'creepy and weird' and despite saying 'That's not very nice', Betsy was cracking up laughing about what Cole said. Cole also didn't seem interested in this whole idea and Betsy still seemed more interested in using Beck's "genius" to becoming and I quote "very very rich."
Dev Log 6 def shows Beck not being happy about being pushed to the side and having his feelings on this whole thing ignored. His image is being used against him and his wishes and desires. He doesn't want this and still isn't happy at all about the usage of "Mysterio" and the "Mysterium" name.
The Mysterium's also project audio.. As Miles progresses and to each new one he gets to, the audio that is projected has becoming increasingly more unwelcoming and more concerning and aggressive. At first they definitely sounded like a projection of a friendly welcoming playful character "Welcome! Step right in for some fun!" and now we have audio like "You have EVERYTHING to fear!".
(as I keep listening through this video, it's clear my suspicions and theories here are true. Miles is confirming it. "I wonder if this is how Beck acted back in the day" and calling the Mysterio he is facing inside the Mysteriums "Fake Mysterio", Miles doesn't believe this to be the real Mysterio. And as we know in the end, he, too, is proven right in that.)
Dev Log 8: It seems to me like Beck is giving Betsy and Cole the "Mysterio" they so badly want to use. They want "Mysterio"? Very well. He can play that part, he play along with their little game. He def seems suspicious of their actions. He even asks what it is that Betsy is doing in all of this? He definitely seems unaware of what Betsy is planning, like he's been left out of it. Cole getting injured by an illusion, Betsy finding out that Beck added strange code to scan people's credit cards
I want to think that maybe he heard the other logs.. but I don't know. I mean.. How else would he think to scan people's credit cards? "to customize the illusions" hm, sounds more like he is trying to imply a stealing of money.. which would hint at Betsy's previous comments in a few logs where she speaks with Cole exclusively and Betsy herself mentions using Beck would make them "very very rich". He absolutely has to have found those and known he was being left out.
Betsy's call after the 9th rescue was strange, stating that he lied to them and didn't go to counseling like he said and they found out. Besty claiming he said threatening things to her and Cole before leaving. They were definitely scared of his behavior change in Dev Log 9, they didn't have any suspicions that he probably found out about the logs and what they had been saying.. but I would stand to believe that he did and that's why he changed. It was supposed to be for him, this whole endeavor. Yet.. he was left out. all that he was, was just a "mascot" to their plans.
I have high reason to believe that Betsy and Cole very much took out Beck after something happened. The final investigation at Coney Island, "Quentin Beck" states that Betsy and Cole are "no longer with us".. Faking their own death to Spider-Man through Beck? Hm.. Sure there's been a few instances in the comics, but for the most part, Mysterio overall is not a murderer. He's never killed. Who is to say Betsy and Cole didn't know that? After all, it's not unheard of for people to make the assumption that if you're a villain, surely you must be a killer or into some really horrible and heinous things, yeah? Well.. That's not true.
DEV LOG 10: I WAS RIGHT. I WAS SO RIGHT. OH MY GOSH. MY THEORY ^^ WAS TRUE. GOSH I WANNA BEAT BETSY AND COLE TO A PULP. BECK DIDN'T DESERVE THIS. THIS MAN JUST WANTED TO BE GOOD. HE JUST WANTED TO DO SOMETHING GOOD FOR PEOPLE AND YET HE WAS JUST BEING USED AND ABUSED BY THESE WOMEN.

Just me loving all over Fire Emblem: Engage
Years after being so thoroughly disappointed and even angered by Fire Emblem: Three Houses — which, it must be said, is deeply popular and incredibly successful because that's how it goes for me — I've found myself loving Fire Emblem: Engage. I put off playing it because the online reception was so "meh," but I needn't have been so worried. My deep affection for the series is back.
Tumblr media
Play as Aquafresh OR Pepsi!
The two biggest reasons I'm happy? Well, FIRST, my biggest complaint about Three Houses has been... not cured, unfortunately, but still significantly alleviated. If you want to remain adequately leveled/competitive in taking on strategic battles, you still need to do a bunch of side chores that amount to "running around your home base doing boring shit" between each fight. BUT. 1) The sheer amount of those chores is significantly less now, and 2) all the blind guesswork has been removed from increasing Support levels. You'll never be trying to helplessly guess what to say at some fucking teatime or in some classroom conversation where every response seems valid, nor will be you making your best guess on what food to serve people. Because the game just fucking tells you the kind of gifts or food each person likes! (And tea events/random interstitial convos are blessedly absent.)
SECOND, however? It's the quality of the writing. Yes, I know people have complained a ton about the writing in "Engage," but in my experience, they're primarily complaining because they felt the story is so simplistic. And, sure — I get that. There's so much emotional drama built into the setups of the last three games (Three Houses, Echoes, and Fates) that this tale seems rather bog-standard by comparison. The overarching story of Engage can be boiled down to a tale as old as the franchise itself — essentially "Evil Dragon gonna Do Evil." There are also some aspects of the worldbuilding/subtextual implications that don't quite make sense. But I'm not talking about the overarching plot when I praise the writing here — I'm talking about how the characters possess more detail/facets than usual, and the dialogue/banter between characters is so damn fun.
Tumblr media
A woman I feel completely normal about.
I don't even quite know how to explain it. Maybe the humor is just more to my taste, but I've laughed so much more at this one. And by the same token, maybe I'm just digging deeper into these characters because their dialogue is endearing them to me. But after playing the past four games before this one (yes, I started with "Awakening" like some Filthy Casual, I'M SORRY), I don't recall any other game featuring characters with so much detail to them. In Engage, many chracters possess more than the usual "two noteworthy personality traits/talents" that are typically found in FE's enormous casts. I'm talking about people like Citrinne, Lindon, Yunaka, Clanne, Ivy, Gregory... I can easily say like FIVE things about each of them. And yes, I consider this to be an important step forward.
Okay, so: I like the dialogue, I like the characters, I don't like all the side busywork, the overall story is bland. (The Fell Xenalogue's story is kinda sick though?) But hold up, what about the actual MEAT of the game — the core gameplay of having strategic battles? That's not usually a problem, mind you. But how'd it go this time around?
WELL. I'd argue we've got some of the best maps and best ways to optimize characters that we've ever had. There are still some lame straightforward corridors in here, but by and large? You get a lot more freedom in how you lure enemies to you, how you can split up and flank them while simultaneously attacking from the front, how you can now disarm (or "Break") them during one turn so other allies can attack more easily/do more damage — it's pretty rad!
Tumblr media
One of the earliest maps to make me go "Oh cool."
There's even a main theme with lyrics, and although it's never gonna be the inescapable earworm that "You are the ocean's gray waves" became, it's not shabby either.
I've put over 80 hours into Engage so far, and although I'm finished with the main story, I'm not yet finished unlocking stuff. There's a lot to love here. I'm just happy to be back.

🍓 🔪 🌿 for the ask game, please :)
Thank you so much for asking! <3
🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction?
I feel like this is an unnecessarily long reply, sorry 😅 I came into writing fic slowly. I started reading fanfic a year or two after the final HP book was published and I realised it was a thing that existed. I started out reading gen fics that aimed to fill in the blanks of canon. Then I discovered slash fics and it was just so life-changing and refreshing to see queer people written and represented as complex human beings who got to get through the angst to something happy. I was a (closeted) queer teen with mental health issues who was secretly in love with my best friend, and I got to see Harry and Ron struggle with their mental health and anxiety over being in love with their friend post war, and then I got to see them being happy. And for the first time something made me believe maybe I could get there too.
I wrote my first fic in 2012, and it was very much a way to externalise my own issues. It was 24k long and took me 2 years of infrequent updates. I didn't write anything for a couple of years after that, but then I picked it back up again in 2016. At first it was (again) purely me needing an outlet for feelings I didn't know what to do with, but I slowly fell in love with writing and I've been doing it ever since.
🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
Oh this is a fun question! I tend to research things and then promptly forget I did though, because it's usually for random background information. One of the things I remember I really enjoyed researching was the language of flowers, most recently I remember falling down a rabbit hole of reddit posts on prostate-orgasms.
🌿 ⇢ give some advice on writer's block and low creativity
Not sure that I'm the right person for advice here, because a lot of the time if I'm low on creativity or motivation to write I just - don't. I try to always keep writing fun, so if I don't want to do it I let myself have a break. When I do want to write, but can't quite manage though there are a couple of things I do:
Set a goal to write badly. If I'm not trying to write something good then the pressure is off.
Write my way into writing. An empty document is my biggest enemy so I will literally start off like "Alright, I want to write a story. Maybe it'll be about Harry. Oh! He could be working as a lifeguard in Australia. But how did he get there? Maybe he..."
Write the fun bits first. For me that's usually dialogue, angst or smut. Then I go back and build the story around it
Join a fest (it's motivating to be working with a deadline and fulfilling a prompt. And there's a community aspect to it that I enjoy)
Discuss headcanons and fic ideas with people. I like letting creativity feed creativity.
Get momentum going by writing drabbles or ficlets, or working on something else if I'm stuck on a fic.

hello, i had some maybe broad-but-vague stuff i wanted to ask to someone who knows more about ace stuff since i've been seeing a surge of related content about that topic lately, and i wondered if you might be someone i could ask? i know it's alot, and please ignore this if it makes you uncomfortable. im not trying to be hateful or anything, i just feel sort of ignorant about it all. ace stuff, specifically. until now, i always ignored people saying they were ace before, because i didnt get it and i just figured that i didnt need to get it to just mind my own business, but it seems so much more prevalent online now than it used to be, id like to understand. i dont mean to be crude, but in my mind it's like- not fucking people is the baseline. thats just how people are. like, the template of a human isn't sexual. starting point of humanity or something like that, and everything else is just extra, though as i type that i actually can see that that might be too flawed and general of an outlook, but that's the best way i can think to phrase my thoughts. so to put focus on that baseline, as an entire identity, always seemed extraneous to me? im really not sure if theres more to it that im missing to put it in some different context. i did wonder if it was to do with just like, reacting to societal expectations that everyone, idk, be sexual? or just the assumption that everyone would (or should) end up like that at some point in their life? and that's pretty fucked up, but i always just thought that was really weird of the people expecting that sort of thing, not of the people they criticized, and that if it were just a reaction that it wouldn't be considered an identity. and the same really goes for the romance stuff, in my mind. it just seems like such a non-problem to me. and that sounds alot harsher than i mean it to be, but i dont get it. its just the regular way to be, and everything else is extra, so all of the controversy is for what? it always came off as making a big deal out of nothing to me. personally, i've never felt any sort of realistic romantic or sexual attraction to another person before in my life, but (other than here) i don't go around talking about that. if the people around me went around talking about how they DID feel that stuff, i would think they were oversharing rather inappropriately. so i don't get that the difference is. it just people searching for other people who feel how they feel using "ace" as a label, a way to do that? a community thing? then why rally around that minuscule aspect of a person's being? or maybe it doesn't feel minuscule? i dont want to come off as belittling, so if theres a better way to refer to all this, please let me know. sorry for the wall of text and like i said, feel free to ignore this. i'm not trying to be an asshole and its not on you to field this sort of question, but i just want to understand. thank you for your time!
Hey anon, It's great of you to reach out and try to learn, or unlearn, some things about asexuality and aromanticism. I'm going to try to break things down a bit (this is not in the order of what you wrote)
not fucking people is the baseline. thats just how people are. like, the template of a human isn't sexual. starting point of humanity or something like that, and everything else is just extra. [...] and the same really goes for the romance stuff, in my mind. [...] its just the regular way to be, and everything else is extra
I'm honestly not sure what you mean by this. I don't believe there is a baseline template for humanity, we are too complex for that. But even if there were a baseline I would set it to what the majority of humanity experiences and I think it's safe to say that a large majority of people experience sexual and romantic attraction to others (the number that usually gets thrown around is 1% of the human population is asexual, but I do not believe this number is still up to date.) If asexuality were the norm then the asexual community would not have this many struggles with medical doctors (here, read this great article that just came out for some context).
That being said - you can view humanity this way if you want, I'm not going to say it's wrong. Just be aware that most people do not see it this way, and that many reactions people have when first learning about asexuality and aromanticism shows how much they view it as something unnatural, abnormal and something to be fixed.
if the people around me went around talking about how they DID feel that stuff, i would think they were oversharing rather inappropriately.
Most people I know experience romantic and sexual attraction as a normal part of their life, and they talk about it a lot, which I don't necessarily consider to be oversharing. Relationships and crushes and heartbreak and sex are important topics for many people, to the point where I would claim that a considerable amount of time goes into writing songs and books and movies and other media about it. Most coming-of-age stories involve romance and sex as milestones, most "humanizing the monster" stories involve falling in love as a proof of humanity, most commercials use sex-appeal to make people buy shit. All of this is integrated into everyday life, so all of this can make aspec people feel alienated and othered, even before they find the aro/ace labels.
When I was a teenager people wouldn't stop talking about sex, it was a way to measure your worth, so I felt.. worth less than my peers. Now I'm an adult and the older I get the more being single and unmarried is seen as a personal failure.
All this is to say that in my experience sexual and romantic attraction are not quiet aspects of society. And, for the record, I don't talk about my orientation much with people outside of my close family, even when it makes things awfully awkward because my disinterests does not go unnoticed, and is very much seen as an oddity.
so to put focus on that baseline, as an entire identity, always seemed extraneous to me. [...] it just people searching for other people who feel how they feel using "ace" as a label, a way to do that? a community thing? then why rally around that minuscule aspect of a person's being?
Why do you think any identity label exists? They are there to help us understand ourselves, to help us explain ourselves to others and to help us find others with similar experiences so we can feel less isolated. We live in a heteronormative society where everyone is assumed to perform sex and romance in a very strict and narrowly defined manner. People that fall out of that norm tend to struggle on many different, complex levels. Asexual and aromantic people are not exempt from these struggles. For some being ace and aro does not have a large impact on their lives and that's fine, for others it does have a large impact - that's what the community is for, and that's what the labels are for. For me personally, being aroace impacts a lot of my life. It influences my politics, my living situation, how I approach friendships, my decisions for my future.. it is not something trivial.
i did wonder if it was to do with just like, reacting to societal expectations that everyone, idk, be sexual? or just the assumption that everyone would (or should) end up like that at some point in their life? and that's pretty fucked up, but i always just thought that was really weird of the people expecting that sort of thing, not of the people they criticized, and that if it were just a reaction that it wouldn't be considered an identity.
No, I do not believe that is the origin of the asexual and aromantic identity. It is certainly a source of aphobia and a much needed point of conversation, but asexuality and aromanticism would continue to exist in a society in which this were not a problem, the same way homosexuality will continue to exist when the world is no longer homophobic, and heterosexuality exists right now in a world that is not "heterophobic". I also want to gently add here that the belief that asexuality is a "reactionary" identity due to an oversexualized society is one I've almost exclusively seen in radical feminism circles, just something to keep in mind when following such train of thought.
Everyone is free to decide the degree to which experiencing little to no sexual/romantic attraction impacts their life and if they want to view it as something important or not. But to generalize and say that it doesn't matter on a societal scale rings false. I highly recommend just listening to more aromantic and asexual people's experiences in society to get a feeling of how it impacts our lives.

I don't know why, but I'm very sure that Ian's end will be that of the typical celebrity who can't forget his first love, womanizer, never has children and spends most of the with hateful behavior towards others but changes drastically in the public eye.
God! I can imagine a scenario where Ian is acting and sees a boy who looks like Alice, in case regrets from the past, follow the child and he finds out that the child is Alice's son, How Ian would he react to it? I'm sure he couldn't go on anymore
That’s a sad, but possible outcome if Ian never learns to let go of Alice and move on with his life. He’s certainly trying his hardest to cling to the security and comfort of nostalgia where she was his rock, his champion who loved and forgave him no matter what...
Given how Ian was tempted to cheat even while (presumably) very happy in a loving committed relationship, I do think it’s likely that he’ll wind up sleeping around. It’s so much easier to give in after the first time, especially when he’s painfully lonely and aching for love and pleasure.
I’m still debating if Ian was sexually active or not after the break up even while he’s still trying to win Alice back in Sunshine in Hell.
On the one hand Ian is hurting, lonely, and needing comfort for what he lost. He’s not in a relationship now, and Alice even told him that he can sleep around with all the hot models at his new school that he wants when she ended things between them. She basically gave him permission to do it... but it’s not a new relationship! And Ian isn’t strong like Alice is... and maybe if he “satisfies his manhood” while they’re broken up, he’ll never be tempted to cheat again...
On the other hand, Ian could just as easily be repulsed by the idea and racked with guilt at even the thought of it since it’s what made his relationship come crashing down around them.
Plus, I’ve heard that a lot of the excitement in affairs comes from the forbidden aspect of it all. Ian and MC living together and having sex was something “forbidden,” at least as far as his mother was concerned, and he really didn’t want people to know what they do. He might be turned on by the taboo nature...
Honestly, I am inclined towards the former. I can see Ian justifying it as a “necessary evil” of sorts to get out these urges, a way to “fix” what went wrong... and hot sex certainly is a vice many use to distract themselves from painful feelings they don’t want to feel...
After all the lengths Ian goes to in order to try and fix his relationship with Alice and get back with her... In a positive outcome, he finally learns to let go and accept the loss of their relationship and that some things can’t be fixed. In a negative outcome, he just can’t let go, even if he as a loss for what else he can do and otherwise gives up.
Ian dislikes loud parties. Likely he is and introvert, which would be the type of person who struggles with crowds. In order to make it as a model and actor, he had to learn to be able to handle all eyes on him, all the attention. The positive attention feels good, but also overwhelming. He has to be this pleasant persona in front of everyone, and wearing a persona can be exhausting when you’re introvert.
Over time it gets easier to wear the smile in front of the crowds, to be whatever persona that would advance his career best on the advice of his agent. No doubt Ian’s shy nature would be part of his persona now, this down to earth and wholesome sweet celebrity who can be a little shy at times, adding to his charm. A part of that public-facing image he presents is apparently as someone who doesn’t date, if an older teaser image is any indication.
Tumblr media
Credit as always to Sauce for this fun mock screenshot that was publicly posted on their now closed twitter. As always, I want to kindly ask people not to repost any of the privately posted content from the SnaccPop Studios Patreon. Let’s give them the support and respect they deserve, okay?
Being a womanizer would be bad for this sort of wholesome image that Ian is presenting as an actor and model. This means that at all sexual encounters have to be kept on the down low, secretive. If “forbidden” things is his kink though, he might enjoy those illicit moments all the more.
Still... an Ian who hasn’t let go of the past, the nostalgia and safety of his childhood friend turned lover, wouldn’t help but pine for those days when he had someone who knew him better than anyone... who gave him so much. How can he not check up on Alice’s social media from time to time? Maybe even a bit more often than he should...
Maybe Ian does manage to stop, at least for a while, to try and forget. Alice ended things definitively. There’s no more hope to cling onto. He needs to move on, even if his heart won’t fully let him. The people he secretly sleeps with are nice, and the sex is thrilling and hot, but he doesn’t feel that same level of love, trust, and intimacy. It all feels so hollow...
On one day off, Ian goes incognito to a park that he and Alice used to play in as children. It’s a place that’s close to her family home and drips of nostalgia. He can imagine those days when they played together. A part of him considers stopping by the King house, but he shakes the urge off, knowing it would only bring him more pain. He lost his relationship with her family too...
There are children playing in the park, with some adults not too far away keeping an eye on them. It’s all so nostalgic. Strangely, certain children draw Ian’s attention, though he isn’t sure why. One is a boy, maybe around 6 or 7... a first grader perhaps? The same year he and Alice met. Maybe that’s why he is reminded of her as he watches this boy play with his friends.
It’s strange why this boy reminds Ian of Alice so much - the child has brown hair for starters. Maybe it’s those blue eyes? They’re not the same shade, but the way they crinkle when the boy laughs reminds Ian of Alice and the way she looked when she laughed.
That’s when Ian hears it, a voice from his past that he could never forget, no matter how hard he tries. He’s far enough away from the playground that she doesn’t notice him, but he can’t miss her and the way she shines.
Alice calls over her eldest son, who reluctantly ends the game he was playing with his cousins. The trip back to her family home had been a fun visit for her and her children, but it was starting to get late and it’s time for dinner. Holding her hand at her side is a little girl with curly dark hair and dark eyes who looks similar to the little boy. Her stomach sticks out more than it used to, unmistakably full with another child on the way.
Alice is beautiful, heartbreakingly so. She looks so happy, glowing with life as she pulls her son into a hug and asks him if he had fun. She’s matured by this point, with a warm, motherly aura, but he can still see traces of the little girl who once asked Ian through a puppet if he wanted to be friends. He can also see the awkward teenager she became who he had a crush on, the tired college student who adored him and would do anything for him... the partner who loved him so much once upon a time.
Ian has to talk to her. He can’t hold himself back. He can’t let this opportunity slip away from him. However, he only starts to stand up when he hears a voice beside his ear... in his head? It’s a man’s voice, low and dangerous... warning him to stay away from Alice. There’s a chill to it that seeps in deeper than his bones to his very soul...
Alarmed, Ian whips his head around, but sees only the branches of the tree behind the park bench swaying in the breeze. It was a warm spring day, but the air felt so cold now that he can’t help but shiver.
By the time Ian turns back to where Alice was, she’s already leaving. Joining her and her children are more adults - a couple of her siblings who also have grown up, he now realizes - and other children, a big crowd that warns him away from approaching her. He knows he can’t approach her now, not after everything, and not in front of so many people who might see him break down.
It forces Ian to watch from a distance, his heart breaking as he clutches the half-heart necklace that he still can’t bring himself to get rid of. Alice looks so happy talking with her family, her children... Is she talking with the air too? Sometimes she looks up and away from the others at a particular spot, and so do her children. Something about that spot of air feels cold even as far away as he is... dangerous... warning him from approaching them.
By the time Ian gathers up the courage to try anyway, the entourage have already left. He knows he could follow - hell, they probably all went to the King family home. He knows the way there from here by heart!
Unfortunately the idea of confronting Alice and her family... after seeing her so happy with a family of her own...
But... but maybe it’s not what it seems! Maybe Alice just got chubbier than Ian last saw her, got into bad habits without him! Maybe the child that ran up to her and called her “mommy” so enthusiastically was calling someone else while giving his aunt a hug. The little girl was probably a niece as well. Alice has so many siblings, there’s no end to how many nieces and nephews she might have since he lost touch!
Alice couldn’t have really moved on with someone new, right? That “Jack” person from her socials years ago... that was just a fictional boyfriend she made up, right? A fantasy to fill the void in her heart just like sleeping with other people filled the void in Ian’s?
Alice... couldn’t have forgotten Ian. She couldn’t have found someone else to love, marry, and have kids with... just like they talked about when they were together before his stupid mistake tore their world apart.
Alice couldn’t love someone else the way she loved Ian... not when he couldn’t love anyone else the way that he loved her.
Ian has nightmares that night, of watching helplessly from a distance as Alice happily lives her life with adorable children who call her “mommy” and a large husband with blue (brown?) hair who keeps giving her wide warm smiles and loving kisses... occasionally shooting him secret vicious smirks.
It’s torture, but that same haunting voice reminds Ian that he only has himself to blame for being so worthless... for not really loving Alice the way she deserved. The best thing he could do for her and himself would be to leave her alone and never even think about trying to take her away from this new family who loved her far more than he ever could...
The man who just kissed Alice - Jack - the same figure as those drawings she made, talks to Ian directly. He makes sure that Ian knows that whatever Ian feels for Alice isn’t love. Someone who loves her, truly loves her would never make her suffer as he did.
Alice is happy now. Don’t ruin this for her, Jack, or their children.
Ian wakes up in the middle of the night, shaken by his nightmare. In the dark of his room, he can only cry and mourn over losing someone who brightened his life like a ray of sunshine... knowing that he only has himself to blame for how cold and dark his life has become.

what are your interpretations for those classes and aspects, out of curiousity? (or a link to an interpretation thats good)
[Re: This post.]
Okay, that's an incredibly complex, multi-tiered question. I'll try my best to summarize it as briefly as possible, though!!
FOR THE CLASSES:
The fact that Bards are the Wildcard Class is true, and I'm not going to dispute that... But I think the way that some people go about interpreting Bards is a bit weak. Oftentimes, they're made out to be forces of pure, unpredictable chaos, when... That's not the case at all. That has, in my opinion, never been the case. From my observation, the role of a Bard in the greater context of a Session isn't that they create Pure Unpredictability within the field of that Aspect, but rather that they're representative of Instability within the field of their Aspect. Those are two entirely different things. Bards do, in fact, have some greater purpose and reasoning behind their actions- it's just that those reasons might not make sense to someone who is particularly mentally stable- or, "hinged", as some might like to put it. Their status of being rather Unhinged and/or Unstable individuals is why they're known to Make or Break Sessions- especially since I'd argue that their existence may hint towards a general feeling of instability within that Aspect throughout the entire session... They are Passive Classes, after all.
Pages are not "Baby Knights", because that would fundamentally defeat the entire purpose of their journey and existence as a Class. Pages represent Lacking, and their journey revolves around Deficit- both in themselves, and in those around them. When their Deficit in their Aspect is healed or resolved somehow, they are stated to be one of the most powerful Classes from the viewpoint of baseline power. If a Page evolved into a Knight upon their full realization, that's not a victory. That's the start of an entirely new journey as a character with a power level that many, many people were able to start with. That's just a cruel joke, at that point. I have so many choice words for the whole "Pages evolve into Knights" theory that if I enable myself any more space to talk about it here, that's what the entire post will turn into, so I'll forcibly stop myself there.
FOR THE ASPECTS:
Doom is a very complicated Aspect, and it hurts my heart to see people boil it down to Misfortune and Death. That is... Nowhere near the full picture, and it's so saddening that no one ever seems to truly take the effort to dig deeper. It's also about Control, Self-Sacrifice, Restriction, Necessity, and so many other things. It's fascinating!! There's pros to being a Doom player- it's not all bad!! Also... The Doombound do not bring bad luck. Think of them like an Absol, from Pokemon- if one of them starts hanging around you a lot, their presence isn't going to kill you. It can, however, serve as an omen- the Doombound are attracted to those that are already Doomed. Come on.
Hope is not inherently good, nor is it inherently positive. In fact, we have yet to see a single example of a Hope player who is a happy person... Lol. Hope is about Belief, and that's an entirely neutral concept. My personal pet theory as to why Hope was elevated to be this paragon of good in the eyes of the fandom is that it has to do with the western world's relationship with Religion- especially the USA and its relationship with Christianity. That's a topic for another day, though... But anyways, Hope can very much so lead to toxic idealism, an inability to accept reality, and suffering... And quite easily, too! I'd argue it's actually a key part of the Aspect! It's not an inherently wholesome or fun Aspect. No Aspects are. That is how they work.
Rage is not "The Hope Aspect, but Evil", it is representative of Disbelief... Which is, you know, the actual opposite of Belief? I'm not sure why Rage gets so commonly misinterpreted as "The Evil Aspect", nor do I understand why they're so heavily related to Demons. Demons are a construct of Hope, actually, and so are Cults. Sorry! It's also not an inherently bad or negative Aspect- it's just Skepticism, Anger, and Pessimism... Which would sound bad, if you forget the fact that those are necessary parts of life in order to have an even moderately healthy experience with being alive.
I'm going to plug one of my besties here, because I will take literally any excuse to do so, and you kind of asked for it. @scalematez is an absolute scholar on the subject of Hope and Rage as Aspects, and she is the only person I've ever seen actually understand them on a deeper level without defaulting to some of the most common, rather egregious stereotypes regarding those Aspects. Here's an essay of hers about their dichotomy, go give her a follow!

SFW alphabet (dream x reader)
a/n: y'all. this is like 1.2k words don't let it flop pls I'm begging u
m.list
A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
Dream would be very affectionate and show it a lot.it could be physical like a soft neck kiss or it could be something like getting flowers for you because he wants you to feel luved.
B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)
The most supportive person you’ll meet in your lifetime. He is a great and reliable friend. He’s also very fun to be around. You would probably bump into each other in a grocery store or meet through streaming.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
Oh boy, he does. Clings onto you like a panda on a bamboo branch and just. Stays there. Loves when you’re both chilling and you are lying on his shoulder or his head in your lap.
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)
I think he wouldn’t be very neat but he is as good as Gordon Ramsay when it comes to cooking. You always blame it on him when you gain weight and he laughs saying the squishier the better and feeding you again. He’d be the best dad ngl
E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)
He would be mature about it. He would meet you in person and explain his reasons. He would feel very bad tho
F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)
He likes to take it slow but he is very committed and when both of you are sure of settling down, he would take it a step further.
G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)
Very gentle in both aspects. The way he holds you is so soft and also he never rushes you into anything, and is very understanding. Soft boi vibes
H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
Why do I feel like dream would give the best bear hugs? He just engulfs you and doesn’t let go, you find his hugs extremely comforting.
I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)
Again, he doesn’t rush into it. He says it after a few months where he just knows you are the one.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
I wouldn’t say he’s very jealous but when he does get jealous PDA PDA PDA MAJOR PDA
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)
His kisses are very soft and tender and so full of love. He loves kissing your plush lips till they are swollen. He loves when you kiss him on the cheeks :))))
L = Little ones (How are they around children?)
He was BORN to be a dad/babysitter. He’s a natural when it comes to kids, and every kid he interacts with end up loving him a lot. You often fantasize about your own kids teehee
M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
I think he’s a night owl and prefers waking up late so mornings are usually calm and groggy. But sometimes you wake him up earlier to try a morning routine which ends up being a cozy and productive morning.
N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)
Again, he is a night owl imo so you eventually get used to a routine where you go to bed late. When he stays up too late, you make him a cup of some herb tea and drag him to bed where he falls asleep immediately in your embrace.
O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)
He’s not very secretive. He wouldn’t hide anything from you and often would tell you funny stories from his childhood or something. He doesn’t reveal everything at once; that could be overwhelming. Let’s just say it takes time but not because it’s a secret, but to keep interests fresh and have things to talk about.
P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)
It’s hard to make him angry, especially if it’s you (he has a soft spot for you). But sometimes in relationships tension builds and you end up having small arguments which you resolve after.
Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)
He remembers everything. That bag you saw literally once and commented on it? He remembered and got it for you. Your mom’s birthday? He calls her before you do (your mom adores dream like c’mon who wouldn’t). your fav candle scent? Of course, he knows. You’ve been eyeing those Ikea candles.
R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)
Probably when he asked you out. He was so anxious because he thought you didn’t like him back but everything turned out well :333
S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)
He is very protective of you. If you’re in an Uber, he always asks for a location just in case. But he is not controlling, he just likes knowing that you are safe.
T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)
Dream knows a relationship works both ways and that is why he always puts the same amount of effort you do, if not more. He doesn’t go overboard but he likes seeing a smile on your face when he cleans up that clothing rack you didn’t have time to organize. Or when you are happy because he did something special for your anniversary.
U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)
Overworking himself. He would sometimes become distant because he’s working a lot, but thankfully you’re patient and never judge or scold him for it.
V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)
Dream is aware that he is pretty attractive and he keeps it up. He does skincare (when you force him to) and dresses neatly. That’s pretty much I think lol.
W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)
Yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesye-
X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)
Dream’s favourite date with you is ordering sushi and watching some drama just for the laughs  of it.
Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)
He doesn’t like when people lie. He always tries to be as honest as possible, unless he didn’t like that dress you bought. Then he would take that secret to the grave.
Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)
He loves sleeping with his teddy bear (aka u) and he bought a bunch of 1 ft techno plushes and they are all also on his bed at all times.

I can't love you any more (than I do now)
this is so domestic, fluffy and corny idek lmao
words: 2.6k
[read on Ao3]
You tell me I'm your favorite person Yeah, what we got is workin' And the years have only made 'em more that way
Eddie's pretty sure he and Buck are dating.
Well, maybe not in so many words.
They've never talked about it, hell, they never even kissed, or went on a date or anything like that.
But Eddie can’t help noticing how their relationship has surpassed platonic a long time ago. It’s confusing, sometimes, because he’s not even sure when something changed, but suddenly he finds himself in this weird stage, where Buck is present in every aspect of his life, being a partner and a co-parent, and, honestly, it feels like even more than just dating – Eddie’s marriage might not have been great, but he’s pretty sure what he and Buck have is what a marriage is supposed to look like. It’s scary and confusing, but at the same time, it makes sense, somehow. What they have, that's not platonic, friends don't act like… like they do. But the thing is, whatever they are, they work. It’s the best damn relationship Eddie’s ever been in, and it’s not even an official relationship. Yet.
The thing is, Eddie knows that he’s in love with Buck. It snuck up on him and came so naturally, he wasn’t even surprised when he finally realized that’s what he feels. He’s pretty sure Buck feels the same way – otherwise he surely wouldn’t act the way he does. So, he’s pretty confident their relationship is going in the romantic direction, even if they’re doing it kinda backwards, but he’s letting it play out for now, at its own pace, still testing the waters. He’s working on gathering his courage to do something about it, while he and Buck keep playing house together. Literally.
There are moments when it hits Eddie all over again how much of a family they are, and how domestic and how… how married they act, and he needs a second to not do something stupid, like actually drop down on one knee and propose. Well, maybe he should just do that.
One evening he comes home from work, since he filled in for someone on the B shift, to the amazing smells from the kitchen, that make his mouth water, and sounds of conversation from the room, as well.
“Hey, I’m home!” he calls out from the front door, kicking off his shoes, taking his jacket off, and dropping his duffel bag on the floor.
“We’re in here!” he hears Buck’s voice from the kitchen. When Eddie walks in, he sees Buck at the stove, cooking dinner, and Chris at the table with his homework.
“Hey.” he can’t help a huge smile, and tries very hard to resist walking up to Buck and wrapping his arms around him. Buck looks so cute, wearing one of Eddie’s sweatshirts, and an actual apron, and he’s cooking for them, like he does pretty often now. Eddie loves him so much. “What smells so good?”
“I’m making lasagna.” Buck grins. “Should be ready soon. Chris, next question, come on.”
“Homework?” Eddie asks, taking a seat next to his son. “What subject?”
“Math.” Chris gives him an exasperated look, and Eddie laughs.
“Oh, so Buck’s not really helping, is he?” he teases, looking at Buck in time to see him try to look annoyed, but failing.
“Come on, I’m not that bad.”
“Well… it’s no secret you suck at math, sorry.” Eddie shrugs, not able to take his eyes away from how Buck’s trying to hide a smile. This kind of teasing and making fun of each other has become a thing in their house- well, Eddie’s house, mostly because of their kid- Eddie’s kid, well, okay, their kid, who always starts it all. It’s always fun, even if Eddie is the object of the jokes more of than not.
“I’m better than you, and I’m in 6th grade.” Christopher says with a laugh, and Buck gasps dramatically. Chris leans in to Eddie to whisper: “I don’t actually need help, he’s insisting.”
“It’s the thought that counts.” Eddie chuckles, shooting Buck an amused look.
“You guys suck.” Buck breaks and finally laughs. Then, before anyone can say anything else, there’s a sound of beeping from somewhere in the house. “Oh, I think the laundry’s done.”
“I got it.” Eddie gets up to get the laundry out of the washing machine, not even wondering why Buck puts on a wash in a house he doesn’t live in. Because it has happened before, and it’s not like Buck’s clothes aren’t all mixed up with Eddie’s in his closet, either. That’s how domestic they’ve gotten. Eddie’s aware that it’s not really something even the bestest of friends do, but that’s how they work.
When he gets back to the kitchen, Chris’ books are gone, and dinner is on the table. They sit down to eat, and Buck asks him how was work, and they tell him about their day as well, and it’s just their usual night, and it’s perfect.
“Oh, I almost forgot.” Buck says at some point, when he glances at the calendar on the wall, filled with both of their handwritings, any events, appointments, shifts, Chris’ extracurriculars, all of that marked. Like a family, like all three of them live here. Maybe it should be this way.  “There’s a parent-teacher conference next Wednesday.”
“Whose turn is it?” Eddie simply asks, because for months now they both have been going, taking turns. It started when Eddie asked him to fill in for him once, and then just never stopped.
“Yours, but we have a day off, so we can go together for once.” Buck shrugs, shoving a forkful of lasagna into his mouth. “It is the last one of the year.”
And Eddie looks at Buck, and his heart beats a little bit faster. He loves how involved Buck is with Chris and his school, that he goes to those conferences, that he’s in the parent group chat, that Eddie definitely muted and gets information from Buck, because all the parents are being annoying and responding with a thumbs up to every single thing the teacher says, blowing up his phone. Buck’s been involved in all kinds of bake sales, school projects, he’s been helping with homework, on occasion driving Chris to school and any extracurriculars, and for sleepovers – they take turns with most of that, to be honest. It sounds like a lot, and it is, and Eddie doesn’t think he’d be able to do it all without Buck.
So, Eddie’s very aware how involved Buck is, and that he knows all the teachers and parents, but when they get there on Wednesday, he’s still taken aback by how happy everyone is to see Buck, how friendly they’re being with him – then again, Eddie’s pretty sure that every single person Buck meets falls a little bit in love with him, be it platonic or not, it’s just how it is, Buck’s too amazing for it to not be the case. Eddie thinks that Buck stole a piece of his heart when they first met, and then, over the years, Eddie kept giving him the rest, piece by piece, and now it belongs solely to Buck.
They find out that Chris is doing great at school, which isn’t a surprise, and when the teacher refers to him as their son, neither feels the need to correct her, because there’s nothing to correct. Buck is Christopher’s parent, and Eddie’s happy that he finally started to believe it and stopped denying it whenever it’s implied, which he did for a hot minute before they talked about it. Well, Eddie talked, maybe even ranted a bit, about how both he and Christopher see him, how he’s the best co-parent Eddie could’ve ever asked for, and Buck just stared at him speechless. He never showed any doubt about his role in Chris’ life again, and Eddie makes sure to remind him of that from time to time.
When they leave the classroom, Eddie decides to be brave, and grabs Buck’s hand, just because he feels like it. Buck looks at him with surprise, and then smiles. They hold hands until they get to the car, and don’t mention it. But it’s something. It’s a start.
He thinks back to the last couple of months of playing house, of dinners together, doing chores together, Buck spending more nights than not at his place, in Eddie’s bed, because the couch is too uncomfortable for Eddie to let Buck sleep there. Of hanging out with Chris, and navigating this whole pre-teen phase together, which is much less scary with Buck at his side. And even going to freaking parent-teacher conferences together. And as Eddie thinks about all that, and looks at Buck, who’s driving them home, he decides that they’ve been dancing around it long enough. He needs to make a move soon, if Buck’s not gonna.
But it’s another moment, a few weeks later, that comes so casually and naturally he barely registers anything weird about it, that makes him determined to do it that night.
They’re at work, it’s the end of their shift, and they’re changing in the locker room. Eddie’s done first, and before leaving he asks Buck:
“You coming over tonight, babe?” Because for once they came to work separately, because Buck spent last night at his loft, and Eddie missed him like crazy. And he doesn’t realize that the pet name slipped out until he thinks back to this moment later.
“Yeah, of course.” Buck shrugs, not affected by what Eddie said at all. However, out of the corner of his eye, Eddie can see Chimney and Hen exchange glances. “I’ll just stop by the grocery store on the way. I grabbed the list from the fridge.” he adds, referring to the little magnetic notepad they keep on their fridge to add items to the list as soon as they run out – well, Eddie does, it’s his house, but it was Buck who bought it and started using it. “Unless you wanna come with me?” he looks at Eddie while buttoning up his shirt, and Eddie’s eyes follow his fingers automatically.
“Uh, yeah, sure.” he smiles, forcing himself to look back up at Buck’s face. “Our usual store, right?” Buck nods. “Great, I’ll meet you there. Bye, guys.” he throws in the direction of Chim and Hen, and leaves.
“Have we missed something?” he still hears Chimney ask, confusion in his voice. “When did you guys-” He doesn’t hear the rest, but he knows what Chim’s asking. He wonders what Buck’s answer’s going to be. Because, honestly, Eddie thinks that everyone missed something, including him and Buck. Eddie, for one, feels like they omitted the actual conversation about dating and moving in together, and suddenly that’s just what they do now, at least partly.
So, that night, after doing the groceries, he helps Buck with dinner, just some simple things Buck allows him to do, because Eddie still sucks at cooking – but Buck has been teaching him, and he’s getting better. Later, they eat together, play some board games with their kid, and watch a movie. It’s the perfect, boring, but not boring at all, night in with his family, and Eddie thinks that he’s never been more content in his life.
After Chris goes to get ready for bed, Buck gets up from the couch to start cleaning up. Instead of getting up to help, Eddie just sits there and stares at this man, who moves around his house as if he’s lived here his whole life, who knows where every single item is, sometimes better than Eddie, who already has half of his belongings here, whose presence is visible for anyone who walks in, who’s in all the family pictures… who’s been sharing a bed with Eddie for months now. And suddenly, Eddie hears himself blurt out:
“Move in with us.” Well, that’s not how he planned to start, ideally he’d tell Buck how he feels first, but he can’t take it back now. He doesn’t want to take it back.
Buck stops in his tracks and turns to look at Eddie, three glasses and an empty popcorn bowl in his hands.
“What?”
“You should move in with us.” Eddie doubles down, now also standing up. He walks up to Buck, takes the dishes out of his hands and places them on the table. He grabs Buck’s hands. “You basically live here already anyway, what’s the point of paying rent for an apartment you sleep in once a week, if not less?” he’s smiling, feeling way calmer than he expected. Buck looks stunned. “You’re here all the time, and I want you here even more often. This is your home, Buck. It just makes sense.”
“I don’t know what to say.” Buck responds, eyes wide, as he’s processing. Eddie’s smile widens, and he puts one hand on Buck’s cheek.
“Then listen to me first.” Eddie takes a deep breath. Here goes nothing. When he speaks, his voice is calm and quiet, and firm. More decisive than ever. “Every time I think I can’t love you any more than I already do,” he hears Buck inhale sharply at that, “I look at you, at your smile that always lights up my day, and at how you are with Chris, at how you fit into our lives, and you prove me wrong. Because I love you so damn much, and I think I’m falling deeper in love every single day, every single second.”
“Eddie.” Buck breathes.
“We’ve been dancing around this for months, if not years. I mean, look at us, at our life together. We’ve basically been married with a kid for who knows how long, and I never even got to take you out on a date.” Eddie chuckles. “We just… work. All the years together, everything we went through, only proved that time and time again. And I’m tired of pretending like I have no idea this is happening. I want you, Buck, in every way imaginable.” he finishes, only now starting to feel nerves, while Buck keeps staring at him, unmoving. Shit, did he break him? Maybe it was a lot to put on him right now, and he needs to process. Because there’s no doubt in Eddie’s mind that Buck feels the same, that’s not even a question.
“Eds.” Buck says, and then a laugh rips out of him. “God, Eddie.” he brings his arms up to wrap them around Eddie’s back, and Eddie instantly relaxes. “You’re my absolute favorite person in the world, you know that? That is, aside from Christopher, obviously.” he grins, leaning in closer, their noses brushing now. “I love you so much. And I want it all, you and Chris, and this family, this home. I want this.”
“Good.” Eddie closes the distance, finally kissing Buck. He tastes like popcorn and soda, and candy he and Chris were eating earlier. He also tastes like sunshine and home, and the rest of Eddie’s life. It’s a sweet and tender kiss, and it only ends when they can’t contain their wide smiles anymore.
“So.” Buck leans his forehead against Eddie’s. “Moving in before we even have our first date?”
“Hey, we started with being all married-domestic and raising a kid together.” Eddie laughs. “So what if we’re doing it a little backwards? It works for us.”
“Okay.” Buck whispers with the biggest smile. “Let’s do it, then.”
It’s barely a few weeks before the rest of Buck’s stuff is at their home, and he officially moves in. Not much changes. They raise their kid, help him with his homework, have movie and game nights, share chores, cook together, host parties and get-togethers with their friends. They share a life. And Eddie’s heart is so full, he doesn’t think he could ever be happier, or love his little family any more than he does now.
