When you give two theatre kids the roles of their lives(this might be the dumbest thing I've drawn, I kept thinking about Morticia and Gomez)

Context: what if Zuko joined Gaang in BSS and hes the only one who knows shit about the fire nation so he's the co-parent but Ozai's got a hit out for him so mother of one is the least sus role(he's totally not going to draw inspiration from his mommy issues).

{Atali, Minden and.. random Wingmaiden girlXD from my Avatar AU, in which I tried to guess what the original HTTYD story would look like if the characters had abilities from the "Avatar: The last Airbender" universe}

About the facts:

●Like the original Kyoshi Warriors, they are predominantly non-benders.

●And like the original Wingmaidens, the goal of their tribe is to protect the Razorwhip specie.

And about their design I had doubts, bc it seems pretty uncomfortable to fly in these huge skirts.. But I made at least the lower parts of them removable to they could take it off before flying))

And the part I leaved from the original Kyoshi makeup is lining above the eyes, since it resembles Razorwhip's "eyebrow" things)

Btw, I thought for a long time about how these girls would call themselves in this AU.. I mean, they cannot be "Kyoshi" warriors, since there was no Kyoshi in this world:,D

I held a vote on Instagram about this some time ago and many were in favor of leaving them Wingmaidens, bc it still fits and sounds cool)))

There were also options "Winged warriors" or "Razorwhip warriors", if you have other options, I would be interested to read))

reading an unpublished partial draft and realizing that the fic isn't gonna finish itself

#i just want yue to become a kyoshi warrior and team up with zuko and later jet... the utter potential of that trio!! the power!!! #but if i want to read this very specific scenario i must write it myself. it's gonna be a MAJOR fucking longfic too. like at least a yr of #precanon as well as books 1 2 and 3. book one would probably be the broad strokes save for minor divergences. but it'd start to veer into #major au territory in s2 and idk what s3 would look like. idek what s2 would look like tbh! and s1 is still in the conceptual phase!! i #have abt 13k precanon written out but even that is a small fraction of what i need to write. at this point i'm p sure it would be a series #which is incredibly intimidating!!! augh. i'm bummed abt the scope of this project meaning it'll probably never even get published 🥲 #len speaks

To this day I still think about my Kyoshi Warrior Zuko + NWT Azula AU.

Not enough people talk about the potential of Zuki meeting early and becoming besties, while Azula is working on making Yue have a stronger backbone and not let anyone tell her what she can and can't do.

Suki and Zuko practicing with their weapons. Suki encouraging Zuko to practice bending, giving people dirty looks if they stare at the firebender weirdly. Zuko joining the Kyoshi Warriors and being there for the ambush™ before he leaves Suki behind in order to be Aang's firebending master.

Azula training Yue to defend herself. Azula getting soft for the spirit touched princess who reminds her so much of her dumdum brother, both so caring and nice and eugh. Yue showing Azula that she can be more than a weapon for her nation. Yue telling Azula her frustrations and fears. Azula being the first one Yue tells her engagement about. Azula being the one who does whatever she can to break that marriage because she knows Han (or however the fuck you spell his name, I don't care about him enough to remember) is a fucking little bitch.

Zuko and Azula reuniting in the North Pole. Both recognize each other yet at the same time, aren't able to. Both of them taking time during the Gaang's stay to talk and catch up.

Azula tells Zuko how she felt betrayed and hurt when Ursa left her at the NP. How it took her so long to understand why, and how it was still hard to grasp her around everything.

Zuko tells her how he was afraid he'd be outcasted by the residents of Kyoshi Island. How he almost stopped bending because he thought he wouldn't be accepted.

Azula tells him about Yue. Zuko tells her about Suki.

They're together when Zhao arrives with their uncle. They're together when they take down Zhao, something both had been longing to do, kick his ass.

Zuko asks Azula to join him and the Gaang, but Azula declines and decides to remain by Yue's side. Once her brother and his new friends leave, she goes to find her only friend in the NWT. And she finds her with her uncle, helping him set up a raft so he could leave as well. Azula doesn't think much of the extra bags until Yue asks if she'd join them. That she's tired of hiding behind the walls of the NWT. That it was about time they did something and she was going to see the world, as much of it as she could. Azula joins them on their raft and they head off. Next stop: the Earth Kingdom.
