Peter: Mr Stark I'm going to hell
Tony: You're not religious, Pete. You don't even believe in hell
Peter: I beat up a blind man
Tony: What. The. Fuck.
Clint: Not cool, man
Peter: I didn't know he was blind!
Tony: how could you not tell he was blind!?
Peter: he was wearing a costume and I thought he was trying to mug some guys so I stopped him but it turns out he was stopping them from chasing this other guy!
Tony: A blind man was beating people up? Thats pretty impressive
Peter: Right!? Then he went to a dumpster-
Clint: Oh don't worry about that Pete- that's just Matt
Peter: you know him?
Clint: yeah he's a great guy, we shared a dumpster once. He always loses his canes
Tony: a deaf guy is friends with a blind guy? How do you talk?
Clint: we usually just skip the talking and get straight to the vigilante stuff
Peter: awesome

Cocky, confident Matt is TOP TIER Matt. This man has taunted an angry Punisher and called him 'unhinged' to his face whilst chained to a chimney, goaded Fisk about Vanessa never coming back right to his face, taunted a chain-sickle wielding Nobu about how he needs to earn his respect, and triggered Bullseye/Dex about Julie before fighting him. Now he's taunting a Hulk about whooping his ass.
The audacity. The temerity. The chutzpah. Not everyone is as sexy (and as dumb) as him to be literally just a guy with sticks but still have the balls to be this confident. I love him.

Matt Murdock has so many raw lines at the beginning of season 3; like
“I am what I do in the dark now. I bleed only for myself”
“I’d rather die as the devil than live as Matt Murdock”
“I am Daredevil. Not even God can stop that now”
And yes mans is heavily depressed and needs psychological help badly but damn if that’s not some iconic shit.

I don’t think I will ever get over how the Batman Beyond Rebirth series treated/used Matt McGinnis during its run. Ever.
Cause one of the main reasons I dove into reading the rebirth series was to read about how Matt became Robin and what his time was like. And having read and finishing the entire run like a year ago it STILL upsets me how they set him up to be Robin, stressing that he is essential to Terry’s batman and to his success, only to rip it away ten issues later b/c “they didn’t want to bring in another child into the mission”.
Acting as if they hadn’t dragged Matt through the ordeal of being sidelined to helplessly watch losing his brother MULTIPLE times both before and after he was Robin. Like what was the whole point of that set up if they were just gonna rip it away?? Explain it to me, b/c I can’t find a damn reason.

I hate to say this, but taking Laudna to Whitestone is a potential enormous can of worms, and may not work out like Orym hopes it will.  He looks at Keyleth like this serene goddess, when in reality she is carting the body of an unknown girl who was collateral damage during their fight for Whitestone back to where it all began.  It seems likely that she’s going to present this choice of resurrecting her to Pike, Percy, and Vex.
And what sort of choice is that?  On the one hand is the guilt of what happened, of some random kid dying just because she looked a little like Vex, along with all her family.  Of course they want to make that right in some way.
But on the other hand, the Bells Hells are going to have to take extreme care about what they say, because the only reason Laudna’s alive at all is because the bitch who destroyed the city and murdered Percy’s entire family is in her head.  Delilah is back.  AGAIN.  And letting Laudna stay dead takes care of that.
Laudna isn’t a friend to Vox Machina.  She’s a guilt trip and a booby trap rolled into one.  And the Hells don’t know enough not to tell them everything about Laudna, including Delilah, because Orym trusts them implicitly, and the others don’t have any real context for who and what Delilah is.  Especially to these unknown but incredibly powerful people.
Anyway, all this is to say that I am very iffy about using your former level 20 characters to solve your level 7 characters' problems, but this may provide an opportunity for a clean break from campaign 1.  Orym is the real thread holding them together, so forcing him to realize that Keyleth and her friends are really just fuckups like the Hells would be good.  VM might refuse to resurrect Laudna, or might do it and then state that if they ever see her again, and if there’s even a hint of Delilah there they’ll put her down.  So the Hells can never go back to Tal’dorei while Laudna is with them, because VM would kill her.  That takes care of the ‘run to VM whenever we have a problem too big for us’ issue, and it makes them firmly choose Laudna and their present over their past.
This is also to say that, if their current characters decide to outsource their problems like this--and put the old characters in this much of a moral quandary--I really want to see Matt make the players pull double duty.  Make Ashley, Taliesin, Marisha, and Laura all have to be their old character working through the moral quagmire that is resurrecting Laudna, fully aware that they might decide not to do it or do it in such a way that no one is happy.  It’s the most interesting route for the players, rather than have the DM puppet their old characters to act as get-out-of-death-free cards.  They either get this once, with massive strings attached, or maybe even not at all.  I want Laudna back as much as the next person, but I also really want to see the players grapple with this one as their old characters.  And I want something to guarantee that, after this, the Hells do have to stand on their own two feet, and not just run back to Keyleth every time things go sideways.  It’s too easy an answer to go to her, and it lowers the stakes for the Hells way too much.  I want them to have their own story, because every single one of them really started as an NPC in someone else’s story (except Imogen), so I don’t want them just acting as a subsidiary or satellite for VM.  I want them becoming heroes in their own right, in whatever shape that ends up taking.
So go to Whitestone once.  Save Laudna but at COST both to their current characters and their old characters.  Make a break from VM after that.  No more running to Keyleth.  They have Delilah Briarwood in tow, and if they want to be with Laudna, they can’t go back to Tal’dorei.  And I want it to be the players themselves who make that call, both as their current characters and as their old ones.

if matt ever gets sick you can bet that all he wants is to be in bed. most colds and flus and such he can handle while being miserable if he has to ( which means that if matt is NOT contagious then he might still show up to work sick but he will NOT be a happy silly goofy boy & any of his productiveness is like cute in half if not more ). just tuck him into bed & give him some soup. he won't cry but he will sniffle and pout ( too much ). luckily, for for anyone involved, matt will take his medications without complaint.
special note: if matt has to take a flu shot he will cry or pass out. even as a grown ass man he hates it. every year it's an ordeal to get his flue shot.

Thinking about how Matt has a tendency to fall for people who are considered ‘bad for him’ or do some pretty bad things. I think there’s a small part of him that relates to them in someway, but mainly it’s his… stupidly righteous desire to ‘save them from themselves.’ He puts a lot of expectations on them, more so than someone who, I guess, is perfectly safe. Matt tends to see the best in them even when others can’t, which makes him become overly attached to them AND the idea of ‘bringing them to the light.’ This also has a lot to do with his views of himself; if he can’t save someone from themselves, how can he save his own person?
This doesn’t mean that his affection for the person isn’t real. But it definitely doesn’t make for a healthy relationship because of his habit to project his own insecurities onto the other.

it just occurred to me that by saying i ship matt with peter and/or jason some of u might think i want them to be a couple..... this is a dire misunderstanding and i'm so sorry i led u to think this. every ship i have with matt will always be unrequited. i want there to be a theme of jealousy and equating Getting The Love Interest with being A Perfect Dude in matt's life. and i want all of them to force matt to look inward instead of looking outward towards others/a relationship when looking to be fulfilled or to grow or to live. and also i want jason to haunt him forever. not his ghost, just the idea of jason, in matt's brain, forever
