#Optimus sitting there asking Ratchet about the war

I had this in mind for some time and some ideas made me think about this story. It takes place during the course of the 'Alpha/Omega' episode of transformers prime after Optimus lost the Star Saber.
Tfp Optimus Prime x Fem!human!reader
I will stay
Words: 1,576
Summary: You haven't heard from your guardian for days, when you got the news from Jack that a new weapon had been discovered. You decided to stop by to see why he wasn't talking to you like before to discover a side of him you didn't know.
Warning: angst, sorrow, g/t content, g/t confort fluff
Tumblr media
You knew something wasn't right, ever since he came back with his memory restored. Something was keeping you upset, you felt that he had put up a wall that you couldn't get through. That didn't happen before. You met him by chance bad timing, a detour home several Vehicons and a big robot of almost 30 ft. Since then he had taken care of you, as Ratchet refused to be the guardian, plus you were older than the children on the base to your surprise. You befriended them, but you were always intrigued by Prime, and little by little you were able to talk about various things. Seeing what caught his attention… Apart from the popular culture books of Earth and what I was dedicated to. Partly little by little you began to fall in love with this metallic giant, his kindness, his concern, his dedication to the Earth. To feel safe among his servos, or to sit on his shoulder while he worked, little details that mattered a lot to you. But at the same time they made you feel helpless, helping Miko and Raf was easy. Engaging Ratchet in conversation was a challenge. Understanding Bumblebee was a challenge. But you tried because you wanted to get to know them better. Everything started to change since Unicron showed up, the day Optimus left… Those were the worst days for you, you didn't know how much you needed him… the sound of his voice, the touch of his finger when he stroked your hair…
He came back to you but interactions started to be more limited, he would pick you up from work: Arcee or Bulkhead. Only Ratchet stayed at the base…. That made you feel partly miserable, you knew he had great work, great responsibility but at the same time you wanted to help him. That he just didn't show that stoic side to all the people. But you were only a small human, between a war of enormous titans. You could only stand by and watch, you wished you could do more, could help more. But you were just an ant in comparison…. You wished at least to see him smile, at least just once… If only you could comfort him, do something. You would do anything. This was eating you up more and more. Until the deadline came when Jack started telling you about a new weapon the autobots had found: Star Saber, it seemed they had an advantage to win, at least something that looked like they would win the war once and for all. That day you left work late at night, but you knew Optimus would be at the base, so you called Ratchet for a groundbridge. You watched with all the joy in the world. Until you saw Ratchet's long faces, the others were patrolling. You didn't understand what was going on until you saw a weapon completely destroyed.
-Ratchet, what happened? - you asked as you climbed the stairs. Ratchet sighed as he looked at the command center - Star Saber was destroyed, Megatron found a way to create his own Star Saber with Dark Energon.
-How is this possible? Solus Prime's forge can only be used by one.
-Megatron found a way… Optimus fought against him, with some injury but he will be
-Damage?! - you said as Ratchet tried to calm you down.
-He's fine. You should go home… Something in you jumped, you were sick of having to leave, of having to be pulled back - No, not this time. I'm going to talk to him. Don't even think of stopping me - you said seriously as you walked down the hallway without listening to Ratchet's words to reason with you. You moved quickly down the long hallway to get to Optimus' room, you didn't think, you acted on pure instinct and emotion. You wanted to know how he was doing, he didn't care if he tried to kick you out, he wasn't going to back down too. you weren't going to leave him behind, you weren't going to give up anymore. You tried knocking on the huge door to see that it wasn't locked, which surprised you since Optimus was always careful with his room and his secrets. He hadn't let you in either due to various reasons that the autobot leader always made an excuse for. Then you walked in to see around a room that had a huge desk, next to a bed, what appeared to be a pile of datapads on the desk table. You stood admiring the place, as you looked like a little doll or toy as you walked around. The door behind you closed, you jumped in fright. Then you saw Optimus, he seemed to be leaning on his bed. At least you had a fix on him, the problem was how to get to him.
It was not easy for you to get to the bed but with a lot of patience you climbed up one of the bed spreads, you approached carefully so that he would not crush you when he moved, you were in front of his face about to wake him up but you noticed on his face in his optics rather, there was something blue liquid. Biologically, humans and cybetronians were not so different… He was crying… You approached him carefully as you touched his faceplate, it felt cold but at the same time you heard a small engine noise, you saw that he opened the optics slowly to see your face so close to him. You thought he was going to refuse or push you away, you were about to respond but contrary to what you thought, his servo grabbed you to pull you to his chest and place you close to his spark. He was stroking your back with his other servo, feeling a great warmth but you shook your head at what you initially came for. This bot had great skill in reading your mind, he already knew why you were here.
-You were worried about me… I am sorry for my absence these days, little one. Matters have led me into situations to keep you and the rest safe. You clenched your fist, a little clenched your jaw, I was doing it again….
-Don't do it… Optimus was confused to hear you - Pardon?
-Don't you dare hide how you feel in front of me, I know you're trying to protect me…. But what matters to me is how you feel, don't you dare say it's not important, war is important. You are distancing yourself from everyone…
-Little girl, I…
-Don't you dare do this alone… When Unicron arrived you disappeared. I thought you really left - you said trying to keep your tone of voice without tears - You walked away, I don't care if it's for my protection, I don't care how many times you try to push me away, I will stay… I will not leave here - you said determinedly as you looked at the optics. There was a deafening silence between the two of you, you looked at each other with determination that your words, then you felt his arms around you squeezing you a little you felt him leaning you to his chassis. You looked at his optics to see the tears coming back to him.
The burdens of a leader are something I must keep, I stayed away for your protection. I may win some battles others I may lose them with quite a few consequences: the Star Saber, Raf's life was close too…. If it hadn't been Raf… - he said as he lifted me up to look at you better - and if it had been you, I wouldn't have forgiven myself…. The words the giant had said had hit hard in your heart, as he wrapped his servos around you as if to protect you from the world -… I can't lose you like that - he said in a low voice. That made a little more of a dent in you, but you moved closer to his face, leaned gently to his cheek as you saw that his optics were focused on you.
-I know, that's how I've been feeling these days too…. I don't want to lose you like this either.
You gave her a soft kiss on her cheek, which had the effect of sounding her engines a little as she squeezed you a little closer in her servos, you felt her nuzzle to you. You had missed these interactions so much, you had missed her too much.
-Next time, try talking to me. I know I can't share your burden, but I'll listen to you as long as it takes - you said as she put you back closer to her chassis but closer to her spark.
-I will try for you. And I will never leave you alone again - he said as you felt a big pulse of sparkle warm you up a little. That was all you needed to hear, you stayed like that for a while longer as words were not needed at that moment. Maybe when things calmed down you would tell him how you really felt about him. Just feeling his company, though, was all you needed. Maybe one day you would manage to get a smile out of him. But little by little, you felt him close your eyes to fall asleep near his chassis. Feeling at peace at last… Next to him.

Sorry just thought of a fun brand of Megastarop.
Optimus post-war having figured out he no longer has a chance with Megatron because Megastar worked out their issues and getting drunk when Ratchet finally gets him to a party. He's mooning and retreats to a balcony only to be caught like a startled cat by Starscream who is being bristly because he feels insecure about the MegOP.
(He and Megatron need to talk about this but they've just figured out how to discuss their feelings so it is a work in progress fuelled entirely by Starscream holding Rung hostage during one mission and getting accidental therapy and then proceeding to kidnap him and have him as an emotional support Autobot for months long enough for Megatron to also get talked to.)
Optimus is just trying to be mature and saying he won't interfere as Starscream snips but then gets sulky and finally because he is three sheets to the wind asks how Starscream got him to top acvording to rumors. Optimus drunkenly rambles about how that was always an issue because they both had preferences and clearly Starscream was worth making the effort for.
Starscream is now speedrunning attraction because he's picturing it and Optimus in new ways and says oh he doesn't.
Cue drunk Optimus looking at him wide eyed and going oh and saying now his jealous for a different reason because no one tops him and they all make asusmptions
Starscream is having an "oh no he's hot" moment mixed in with a "I know too much" meltdown before Optimus is retrieved by Jazz who squints at Starscream suspiciously.
Starscream is just up nights thinking about this because it turns out Optimus is not perfect and uneffected but also a hot mess and a person not a Untouchable Religious figure and this and Optimus being mean has made him infinitely more attractive.
After several months back and forth and working things out and an appointment with Rung that Starscream actually scheduled instead of making off with him again as promised, they all work things out and Starscream is living his best life.
Omg yes
That's a lovely way to do it
The war is over, Optimus is having feelings, Rung gets fucking kidnapped by Starscream,
EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AUTOBOT
EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AUTOBOT
Optimus trying to be the bigger bot here but also fuckingddghj
Optimus: so how did you get him to top
Starscream: ?
Optimus: how did you convince megatron to dick you down
Starscream: do I look like a bottom to you
Optimus: do you even have to ask
Starscream is sitting here absolutely zooming his way through the possibilities because he's got ideas now, and dude's practically having a meltdown because he has Realized Something Big™️
Jazz is both right and wrong to be suspicious, Starscream is acting suspiciously but not for the reasons he's thinking
Starscream:
Starscream: I need him carnally
Of course he ends up calling Rung, they always come back to Rung
They're going to have so many different sessions of therapy and group therapy and they'll work things out
Eventually

your papa prime head cannons are spot on! Though I wonder what papa prime would do if and when he realizes that his autobots/kids are like his sparklings (btw I love your writing style!)
Aww, thank you for the kind words. I love this so here a short story about how I think he would discover that he is running sire protocol aka
Optimus realizes he is now a dad.
Optimus fluff
Words: 817
It was a quiet day in the base, the entire week was for the bots relatively peaceful the cons didn’t try to destroy the earth yet again and the kids were out using the holidays to go visit family. Miko was in Tokyo visiting her parents and catching up with friends, Raf and his family went to Mexico for his cousins Quinceañera and to catch up and even Jack and his mom went on a trip to Canada to visit Junes Sister.
The bots used the rare tranquillity, in different ways, Arcee went out more training her parkour skills, Bumblebee visit the Griffin Rock stationed Rescue Team. Meanwhile Bulkhead joined Wheeljack on a “space adventure” and even Ratchet allowed himself to rest more and work on some project of his. Truly a perfect time to relax before the storm comes again and the efforts to end the war start anew.
And yet Optimus could not sit still, since the beginning of the week his frame has been acting up. It started with the itching of his plating as if nanoticks are biting into his mesh, then his fans and vents acted up leaving him sometimes unable to move from the cold or borderline delirious from the heat. When parts of his frame started to move, like his right leg transforming, making him stumble into his work desk he had enough.
“Old friend, could I ask for your expertise?”
“Oh? What a rare occasion to find you willingly come into the medbay. To what do I owe this pleasure of your visit Optimus?”
“My frame has been acting up in various ways and I can not fathom on what may have caused this.”
“Well then let’s get you checked out come on take a seat.”
Optimus did as instruct while Ratchet readied the scans to run a complete diagnostic on his frame. With the last scan complete a frown made its way onto Ratchets face plate.
“Well Optimus physically there is nothing wrong with your frame, everything is in working order, energy levels are good. But what concerns me is your spark activity, normally it is in a very calm even lower compared to the others due to the influence of the matrix, but your current scan shows a hyperactivity, like you’re in a high stress situation.”
“Curios, I have never felt like this before.”
“Hmn, well let me run a protocol diagnostic scan maybe one of your battle protocols activated or is damaged. Lay down, go into power-down and I’ll see what I can find.”
“Very well, Ratchet.”
Laughter is what rose the Prime out of his power down, as his optics finally onlined he was met with the sight of Wheeljack laughing, Arcee getting a packet of rust sticks from both Bumblebee and Bulkhead and Ratchet standing on the side shaking his head in disapproval, before realizing Optimus woke up.
“Well Optimus, I have found the cause of your well, functioning problems, so I ran the protocol diagnostic scan and in good news all of your battle protocols are in perfect working order, matter of fact all of your protocols are working fine.”
“Then what would cause my flare-ups, old friend?”
“Well like I said all of your protocols are running fine and well-“
“Ha, your running sire protocol Prime, oh I never thought I see the day. Oh this is too good.”
“WHEELJACK!”
A very angry shout followed by the sound of a wretch making contact with a piece of metal, the piece of medal being Wheeljacks helm. Letting out a puff of air through his vents, Ratchet turned back around to face Optimus.
“What he said is true though, your sire protocols are running and that on overdrive.”
That day, at that time, something happened which has never happened before and will probably never happen again. Optimus was lost for words.
“But this doesn’t seem plausible I am not with a sparking neither have…I…adopted…one…”
A look of realisation crossed over the Primes features.
“The children.”
“Yes, Optimus your spark has formed a spark bond with each of the children and seeing the effect it has of you they, though most unknowingly, accepted it and with that you as their sire.”
“When are the children coming back?”
“Soon Optimus, Raf is as far as I know already on his way back, they will arrive tomorrow.”
“And Miko told me she takes the plane from Tokyo tomorrow.” Bulkhead added.
“Jack and his mom should arrive either today late in the night or tomorrow morning to noon.” Arcee mentioned offhandedly.
“Well I believe it is in the best od interest to wait until all of them arrive and see how we will proceed from there. I will excuse myself then I will see you tomorrow.”
With that Optimus exited the medbay not seeing the knowing smirk on his medics faceplate.

Hmm, the Dreadwing/Smokescreen fic and the Ultra Magnus Free Use you've had going on has reminded me exactly how much I think TFP Optimus is the ideal Optimus for getting pregnant. This Optimus has the vibes of someone who has a deeply unfulfilled and slightly feral breeding kink that has been repeatedly denied. And Megatron. I mean TFP Megatron. You made the chart.
He, as Orion, and Megatron bonded initially over a shared breeding kink and were both, still arguing who gets to get pregnant first, which person they want to use as a stud if they aren't going to get the other pregnant, and sending each other increasingly erotic daydreams about their bedroom set up.
Like the second he gets a hint of peace, he is dragging Ratchet and Megatron into a room and they aren't leaving until the medic who Optimus has been pinging as IDEAL sire has knocked them both up. It is baby time, and Optimus is not being denied this chance again. Megatron can sit down and shut up because he won the war and gets to pick the third. They can ask Soundwave next time.
yessss, I love the thought of Megatron and Optimus deciding to get a stud to breed them both. I mean, why should they take turns deciding who gets who pregnant first when they can just get pregnant at the same time?
Optimus and Megatron get to rub their fat bellies against each other while making out…. Maybe they get Ratchet and Soundwave to breed both of 'em from behind, while they just moan into each other's mouths <333

Hi, I would like to ask for a reader who sees Optimus, Bulkhead, and Rachet as a father figure and the reader tells them about this person they really really like. So basically how would Optimus, Bulkhead, and Ratchet react to hearing reader has a crush? (Can it be LGBTQIA+ friendly?) Thank you!! Love your work!
A/N: Aaaw, this is cute. (As an aroace person, I have a really bad grasp on how it is when you have a crush on someone, since the only “crushes” I have, are on fictional characters.) I wrote it gender-neutral as usual, otherwise I don’t really know what you’d mean by LGBTQIA+ friendly. You can interpret the gender of the reader and the crush however you want. Didn’t do Bulk, because I kinda ran out of steam after the Optimus one.  Also thank you for liking my writing, it means a lot to me :D
~Ratchet~
•Ratchet had noticed you had been acting a bit odd lately
•Texting someone a lot and laughing and smiling at seemingly every text you received back
•But somehow you also seem kind of anxious as of late, even though you also seemed really happy
•Ratchet doesn’t really know what to make of this, so when you ask him one day if he could hear you out, he’s relieved, because maybe you’ll finally tell him what’s going on
•So you sit down with him, making sure no one else is in hearing distance and you seem pretty secretive
•Ratchet asks what’s going on as you try to figure out how to tell him as you pace back and forth in front of him
•You finally stop pacing and just sigh, before telling him “I have a crush”
•”You have a what?” Ratchet asked, he didn’t really know what the word meant in that context
•”I like this one person in my class…” you muttered
•”I assume they’re the one you’ve been constantly exchanging messages with?”
•”Yes, and they’re great… I just don’t know what to do going forward”
•”What do you think you’d need to do?” Ratchet asks
•Ratchet is a bit hesitant on giving you any kind of advice, because cybertronian courting is probably a bit different from how humans do it, and he doesn’t want to get it wrong
•He’s like a father to you and while you’re not expecting much advice, you do still want some
•”I just… I want them to know I like them, but I don’t know how” you sighed.
•”I must admit, I’m really not very good at giving advice this topic”
•”Well, what did you do when you wanted to tell someone you liked them?” you asked
•”I have never really been the one to make the initial move, so it’s a bit hard to say”
•”So you have no advice for me?” you sighed.
•”If I were to give you some advice, do what you feel is right. You already have their contact information, so perhaps you should just ask them to do something you’d both enjoy?”
•You think about it for a moment, and decide that was actually a really good (and obvious) idea
•You thank him and ask if he’d like to help you formulate the text to your friend
•What Ratchet thought would be a good way to ask, was pretty much an essay and very formal, so you just decided to figure it out on your own
•Ratchet is of course very happy for you, and he wishes you all the best, encouraging you to be yourself
~Optimus Prime~
•One day you just come to Optimus, asking if you could talk with him
•There’s not really anyone else around, so you just sit on the couch and explain the situation to Optimus
•He nods and shows interest the whole time, but on the inside he’s like “Oh dear Primus, what?”
•Optimus isn’t particularly experienced with romantic relationships, so he doesn’t really know what kind of advice he can offer
•Also he thinks the cybertronian ways of dating and courtship may not apply here
•He was still kind of young when he became a Prime, and then the war started so he hasn’t really had time for longterm, serious relationships
•So Optimus is understandably a bit nervous, because he wants to get it right and not give you any bad advice
•”Do you think I should tell them that I like them?”
•”Yes, I think you should, life is too short to wait” Optimus says, glancing at Ratchet with a yearning look in his optics
•”How long have you waited?” you couldn’t resist asking as you followed Optimus’s gaze to Ratchet, realizing you weren’t the only one who was at a loss with liking someone
•”What do you mean?” Optimus asks, turning his optics back to you
•You don’t want to turn into a matchmaker or anything, but for god’s sake this big mech doesn’t even know how he’s feeling
•To you it’s pretty obvious Optimus is deeply in love with Ratchet, but you’re also pretty sure neither of them know it
•”Anyway, I think you’re right. Life is too short to wait, and you never know what might happen”
•”I’m proud of you young one, and I hope your love is reciprocated” Optimus smiled a little, before his optics wandered back to Ratchet
•He’s not gonna be a single mech (dad) much longer if you have anything to say about it
•Optimus is honored that you would come to him with something so personal and something that requires a lot of trust
•Proud bot dad!

Hello! Parental/platonic relationship please of a rescued kid reader, who has been experimented on & abused by M.E.C.H because of their incredible healing power on any living being (plants, animals, humans even the bots) and was left in bots' base for their protection.
With tfp optimus, ratchet and arcee. Thank you!
(The bots could be the ones who did the rescuing)
Optimus
He doesn't really mind how attached the kid seems to him—although he doesn't understand the reason behind it. So long as they don't try to follow him through the groundbridge on missions, everything's fine. He treats the kid the same way he treats the others for the most part, and that unfortunately includes the way he doesn't quite spent much time around them.
But even if they don't speak or talk too frequently, he'd take notice of their little mannerisms, and remember even the little moments shared with them, and he'd grow attached. He doesn't believe that keeping the kid here would be good for their development, so he asks Agent Fowler to keep him updated on when he finds a family to adopt them and give them a proper home.
He doesn't know how to entertain a kid, but he tries reading them children's books whenever he can. But if they don't show any interest in children's books, and seem more interested in any stories he has to tell, he'll tell them of his days as an archivist and nothing of the war because he was told that war stories are not suitable for young children. In general, he'll try his best to act as much of a father-figure as he can until you're under better care.
Ratchet
He didn't anticipate to find a human child in one of M.E.C.H's laboratories, and but neither did he care about the reason. In the aftermath of it all, he doesn't understand why they seem so attached to him when all he did was find them and take them out of that laboratory, and honestly he's peeved. He asks them to let him work in peace if they tend to bother him, but he wouldn't yell unless they really got on his nerves. So long as they don't tend to bother him, then they have the best chance for him to grow attached to them.
He'd try not to yell around them, and he'd try his best to be patient and understanding for their sake. But, it's only oh so long until one's patience runs dry, but even then he wouldn't yell at them. With how busy he is around the base, he hardly gets any time to sit down, but he tries to watch over them whenever he can. And when he does, he learns just how hard it is to raise a child.
Of course, after doing a bit of research on raising children, he resolves to keep them entertained with toys like stuffed animals, puzzles, books, paints, pillow forts, etc.. And while it's a hassle to clean up afterward, he considers it worth it so long as it keeps them happy.
It'll take time and patience, but after a long while he'll care about them, even if he doesn't openly admit it. If they have any trauma around being used solely for their powers, then he'll keep from asking them to do any healing for him, no matter how useful it may be. He'll leave them to decide on their own whether they'll use it to help or not.
Arcee
If they're a bit clingy toward her in the beginning, she's not gonna like that. She has no problems with hanging around them for a while, but when they start trying to follow her everywhere then that's where she draws the line. So long as they're well behaved (which is improbable, considering they're a child), there won't be many problems between them.
If they still act very frightened and scared around the base, she attempts to help them learn that no-one there is going to hurt them, and that they're in a safe place. They essentially bond over having been hurt and traumatized, and it doesn't take Arcee long to grow attached to them. If they have nightmares and whatnot because of the trauma they endured, she'll have some sort of idea on how to help with that. She'll try her best to serve as a support system for them.
With a bit of help from Raf, Jack, and Miko, she'll try getting them to play with toys, or to get them invested in some new hobbies to keep them entertained since stimulation plays an important developmental role.

Cheyennexshadow : I want to see starscream bonding with the children when he was trusted to be alone with them while the autobots including ratchet on a mission, then june darby came to visit as she's unaware of starscream recently joining the bots.
Oh I have a feeling it's going to be funny and fluff X), maybe also sad but cute in the end. Thank you for your request Cheyennexshadow.
~~~
The Autobots had left on a mission, leaving Starscream alone at the base with the children. The Seeker was initially reluctant, not understanding why it wasn't Ratchet who stayed with the humans.
"We need Ratchet for this mission. Optimus explained simply.
- But… I assure you that I can be useful…! the jet exclaimed. You don't need to leave me behind at the base!
- I don't doubt your skills, Starscream. But they are not needed for this mission."
The flyer couldn't stop his wings from lowering, as his paranoid mind kept screaming at him that they didn't want him anymore. Starscream knew he should have prepared for this possibility, but it was hard to accept.
"If... if it's about the previous mission... the Seeker began.
- It's not about that." Ratchet intervened, much to the jet's surprise.
The doctor sighed, before continuing:
"Look, Starscream, we need someone at the base, it's important."
- …”
The flyer looked away and clutched his wings, unconvinced by the ambulance's speech.
“See it as a mark of trust on our part. Ratchet added.
- What? Starscream wondered a little.
- We leave you alone in the base, with the children as a bonus. This is the biggest proof of trust we could give you."
The Seeker was for a time grateful to the doctor for his speech, but his previous anguish was quickly replaced by another. What if he failed at this?! What if he couldn't take care of the base or the children?! He liked them, there was no problem there, but he never had to be alone with them, much less take care of them. What if Miko decided to go on the run again, and he couldn't stop her?! And if…
“Don’t worry Screamer, it’s going to be fine. Wheeljack huffed with a laugh.
- I'm not worried… lied the jet.
- Hm, hm…
- Anyway! Go! It's good!"
The Autobots eventually entered the portal, and the flyer stood in front, wanting to prevent any sort of escape from the Japanese girl.
“It’s okay, chill! I'm not going to do anything! laughed the young girl.
- Do you think I'm a fool? Starscream huffed.
- At least I would have tried."
Miko returned to sit on the couch next to Raf, while Jack moved closer to the Seeker. He placed his elbows on the railing, and the jet came closer, his wings raised with stress, before saying:
“Be careful, don’t fall!
- You don't need to worry like that, Starscream. reassured the brown haired boy.
- …
- This isn't the first time you've spent time with us.
- Yes… ! But I was never alone...! The Autobots are unconscious, it's terrible...!
- Why would they be? Do you intend to harm us?
- Of course not!
- Then you have no reason to worry.
- …
- The Autobots trust you, but you also have to trust yourself."
The flyer could not hold back his wings which lowered, and Raf had a little look of sorrow, then asked:
“Want to watch a movie with us?
- What?"
Starscream had a surprised expression, and Miko jumped on the couch, before exclaiming:
"Oh yeah! Let's watch an action movie! A good blockbuster!
- Or something calmer. huffed Jack.
-How about we let Starscream choose." proposed Raf.
The Seeker shook his head sharply, before focusing back on the ground bridge.
“The Autobots may need a portal at any time. I don't have the freedom to watch a "movie".
- You need to relax a little… sighed the Japanese girl.
- …
- Oh! Otherwise, let's play a board game!
- You can play whatever you want, but don't include me in it.
- Would you do it if it was a mission?
- Of course, but this is not the case actually!
- So you only do something if it's a mission, it's boring.
- It's the war!" shouted the jet, his wings raised in anger.
The children could not hide their surprise, and the flyer quickly retracted, before stammering:
"S-Sorry... I didn't mean it like that... Just, don't tell the Autobots, okay...?
- We won't say anything, I promise. reassured Jack.
- …”
Miko came closer, and stood next to the brown haired boy, then said:
“Please do something with us. I don't like seeing you stressed like this."
Starscream looked towards the children, and scratched his helmet, eventually looking away. He didn't want to see their disappointed looks... Either way, they were probably going to end up hating him, like everyone else. He couldn't reveal too much about himself, or they would end up being disgusted...
“I can’t…” was the Seeker’s response.
The Japanese girl frowned, before rushing to her bag and grabbing something.
“Miko?” asked Jack.
The girl rushed towards the Seeker, who had his back to them, and shouted:
“Hey! Screamer!"
The jet turned around with a sullen expression, forbidding her to call him that, when he caught a balloon filled with red paint directly in an optic.
The flyer let out an exclamation of surprise, and put a hand to his eye, before his wings rose in anger. Starscream did his best to clear the paint, before shouting:
“Argh! You little…
- Paint fight!" declared Miko vigorously.
The Seeker had a slightly surprised expression, while the young girl pointed at her bag while smiling at the jet, inviting him to take his revenge.
“You don’t have any lessons in your bag?! Jack wondered.
- Hmm… No!" smiled the Japanese girl, before throwing a paint ball at the teenager's head.
The brown haired boy spit a little, after taking some in his mouth, and the flyer couldn't hold back a laugh. He ends up deciding to look in the young girl's little bag, determined to take revenge.
The balloons were too small for Starscream to grab with both hands, but he could see that Miko had done her best to make the balloons as big as possible to be caught by a Transformer.
The Seeker soon joined the battle, mainly targeting the Japanese girl. Raf went to take refuge in a corner, but Jack refused the boy with glasses to escape, and hit him in the back with a ball. The little boy fell backwards, before laughing at the ridiculousness of his fall.
Miko fired again towards the jet, which managed to dodge the girl's attack. He responded, not firing too hard so as not to hurt the Japanese girl, who jumped to avoid the ball, not seeing the second one coming, and taking it directly in the head.
She fell on her butt, and wiped the paint from her eyes, before sticking her tongue out, with a slightly disgusted expression, indicating that she had gotten some in her mouth. Jack laughed in the distance, then exclaimed:
“Karmaaaa!”
Starscream in turn made fun of Miko's situation, who soon joined them in their laughter. The Seeker found the situation so amusing that he didn't had a moment to think about his anxieties and the future. The Japanese girl moved closer to the jet, then said:
“I prefer it when you laugh. It shouldn’t be so rare to see you like this…”
The jet smiled a little, but there was far more sorrow than joy. The flyer looked away a little, when they heard the security alarm activate, then saw a car enter the base.
Starscream initially thought it was Agent Fowler, until the driver got out of the vehicle, and looked at him with wide eyes. The Seeker raised his wings in surprise, facing this complete stranger.
June froze when she saw this Decepticon close to the children, and couldn't hide her horror when she saw them covered in red liquid from head to toe. The nurse said absolutely nothing, like the jet.
The flyer turned to the trio, waiting for them to do something, but they too seemed unsure of what to do. Starscream decided to take matters into his own hands, and moved slightly closer, before the human pulled a taser out of her car, and threatened him with it.
“Get away from the kids and me!”
The Seeker tightened his wings, and backed away, not preferring to know what this weapon did. It might be tiny, but he'd rather not repeat the mistake he'd made with the MECH.
Miko rushed between the jet and Jack's mother, then took a protective stance in front of the flyer. June looked at this in surprise, while the Japanese girl shook her head, before exclaiming:
"Wait! He's not a bad guy! He's with the Autobots!
- But… But his optics are red! And… his a plane! Planes aren't always Decepticons?! replied the nurse.
- What stupid clichés!" Starscream shouted, his wings raised in anger.
The girl gave the Seeker a reproachful look, asking him to remain calm. Jack's mother quickly approached Miko, then asked:
“Are you hurt?!
- No, it's paint. replied the Japanese girl.
- Paint ?!
- Long story.
- Well you'll have to tell me, because I need explanations!"
The children ended up explaining everything to June, the fact that Starscream was a former Decepticon, and that he switched sides. They didn't lie about the fact that the integration wasn't easy, but they also added that the Seeker was now completely part of the family.
The jet did his best to hide that he was flattered by the trio's last sentence, then lowered his wings when he faced June's stern expression. Despite the children's speech, she was not convinced, her expression becoming more serious by the second. The nurse crossed her arms, before growling:
“Call Prime, I have two words to say to him!”
~
The Autobots were quick to return after June's call, who didn't wait until they all left the ground bridge to begin her sermon.
“When did you think that was a good idea?! Leaving the children to a former Decepticon, Optimus, have you lost your mind?!
- Starscream is perfectly capable of taking care of them. replied the Prime.
- He's a Decepticon!
- Former. Ratchet corrected.
- It doesn't matter, I don't want him near the children, especially not alone!
- But he's not evil!" Miko tried to defend.
While the others argued, Starscream watched all this in the distance, in a corner of the base. The less he stood out, the better he was now... The others were going to blame him for that, it was sure! The Seeker sighed discreetly, before hearing:
“Don’t you have anything to say to defend yourself?!”
The jet looked up at Arcee, unable to hide his surprise, while the motorcycle continued:
“Do you agree with what June said?!”
- …”
The flyer frowned, before responding:
“You could try to understand her point of view, no?"
The others had a surprised expression, and Jack's mother was no exception.
“Imagine you have a child, or know children and care about them. How would you react if they were alone with someone who was your enemy not long ago? Someone who others have portrayed as a monster.
- …
- I'll tell you, you will be suspicious, on the defensive. You will think about the safety of your Sparkling above all else. You will do everything to protect them... before it is too late... Because, for a parent, giving they trust to easily does not threaten only they life but also that of their child... You cannot blame her to distrust me…”
Everyone remained silent, before June approached Starscream, who raised his wings in surprise. The nurse held out her hand towards the Seeker, her gaze filled with understanding. The jet stretched out his hand in turn, and Jack's mother grabbed one of his claws, before saying:
“I don’t trust you completely.
- …
- But, I am now sure that you will never harm the children."
June tightened her grip on Starscream's finger, then whispered, away from prying ears:
“A parent doesn't hurt children."
The Seeker nodded gently, with a sad smile, before taking the nurse in his hand. The jet raised his wings, and declared:
"We had a bad start, and I haven't known you long, but you're already my favorite.
- Oh no ! I have been dethroned!" Miko exclaimed, before making a dramatic stance.
Everyone laughed at the Japanese girl's overreaction, and June gave Starscream a soft smile, before saying:
“Welcome in the team!”
Frick but I am thinking about Megatron learning to be the healer he always wanted to be.
It starts with one time, of several, when the Autobots just manage to get the upper hand, and before he can call a retreat or respond they have him.
But the Autobots, at least the ones serving under Optimus Prime, would never deny medical attention to a prisoner. He's cuffed, strapped with an inhibitor claw, and only then do they bring in Ratchet. The CMO gives the Decepticon leader a look of disgust, but he's an Autobot through and through and he starts work. Megatron can't take his eyes off the skilled work, and after a long time of no sound but the clink of tools and the hiss of a solder, he asks
"How do you do that?"
Ratchet is surprised, looks to the red eyes with suspicion, expecting a jeer or a lot, but all he sees is sincere interest. Megatron isn't just a brute, he's intelligent and keen, a voice that started a revolution that started a war.
And Ratchet is a teacher at heart.
Gruffly he talks through what he's doing, how to close off a line, repair the protoform, seal the armour so that the mend stays strong. Megatron just watches, quietly, learning.
The Decepticons bust him out, of course, but back at their base he snags a solder from Hoist's workshop.
The next time he's damaged in battle, he fixes a piece of minor damage himself.
When Ratchet is off-base he's started to stumble across Megatron, scared, prepares to run. But Megatron isn't wielding his fusion cannon and he stands still and unthreatening.
And Megatron says, "How would you repair a ruptured sensory line?"
And Ratchet frowns, casts his eyes around in suspicion, but Megatron is just sitting calmly, curious.
And after a few more covert meetings, and after another battle, when Hoist is triaging and dashing between bleeding Decepticons, Megatron quietly takes out the little solder, and the forceps, and the line clamp, and when he sets to work Hoist is too desperate for any help at all to question what's going on.
How would the Decepticons change with a leader learning to heal instead of harm?
This ask game
I guess I'm going to continue the Autobot Anthology and skip the Experiments portion for right now.
Comfort
Matrix of Leadership
Titans and Energon
"Well, it's official everyone: the Battle of Trost is an official holiday," Jean sighed in annoyance as he read the paper, "Now it's going to be a pain in the ass to get home to my mom."
Connie chuckled. "Mama's boy."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Jean rolled his eyes.
"I can't believe they actually made that battle a holiday," Mikasa proclaimed, "So many lives were lost. A lot of our cadet friends died that day."
"I think Historia mentioned something about the public wanting it," Armin explained, "They wanted to celebrate the moment the tide turned for us officially, and they also wanted to praise Optimus and Eren for their hard work."
"I remember carrying that boulder like it was yesterday," Eren whined, "It hurt my neck like hell."
"I guess I could ask Arcee or Wheeljack for a ride into Trost," Jean decided, "Optimus no doubt doesn't want the spotlight right now. Everyone in the city would want to hound him like a celebrity."
"That's true," Armin agreed, "He's probably at his library right now."
"Optimus has a library?" Arcee asked in surprise as she walked up to them in bipedal mode.
"Yeah, we got it for him as a gift about two years ago," Sasha explained, "He's opened it up to the public and a lot of people go in to rent it out."
"Oddly fitting," Arcee commented, "Ratchet talked about him being an archivist before the war. Speaking of Optimus, what's this I'm hearing about a celebration in Optimus' honor."
"They just turned the Battle of Trost into an official holiday," Jean explained, "It was the day the Colossal Titan attacked the southern gate to Wall Rose. It was also the day that Eren and Optimus made their first debut and helped seal the gate with a giant boulder."
"The boulder hasn't been removed and replaced with a gate, but I think the people of Trost are fine with it," Armin confessed, "The South of the Walls was usually the most at risk with dealing with a titan attack."
"If you don't mind, can you take me home?" Jean asked Arcee, "I wanted to see my mom, and Trost is probably going to be crowded."
"That's fine." Arcee shrugged, "But it sounds like you guys don't want to celebrate."
"Trost was our first exposure to a real battle," Eren explained, "We're not too keen on being there while everyone else celebrates."
Arcee thought it over. "You lost friends, didn't you?"
The 104th solemnly nodded.
"You were young. Novices," Arcee explained, "I was a novice myself once. It costed me, but take it from me, I don't think your fallen comrades would want you to miss out on a celebration like this."
"Are you sure about that?" Connie asked her.
"Mourn your dead, celebrate the life they lived," Arcee advised, "They would have wanted that."
The 104th stared at each other with contemplation and sorrow. They had lost so much that day, but they had also gained so much too. They found just a sliver of hope, even just for a brief moment. They guessed they could celebrate that moment.
"Can you give some of us rides to Trost?" Sasha asked her.
"I'll call Wheeljack to give you guys a lift," Arcee answered.
========
That evening
Arcee was surprised at the sight of the streets of Trost in full celebration. Lanterns and streamers were lit and hanging along houses. The people were chatting amongst themselves and eating food, and there was live dancing in the town square.
Sasha had gotten off of Arcee alt mode, sitting behind her holoform avatar, while the others hopped out of Wheeljack's alt mode.
"Feels like Maccadam's," Wheeljack remarked, earning a hum in agreement from Arcee, "Times like these makes me wish I did get that holoform installation."
"I can always tell you what's going on," Arcee reasoned as she allowed the holoform to get off her alt mode.
"I'll probably just sit here," Wheeljack decided.
"So what do you guys want to do?" Eren asked the others.
"Well, I'm going to go and see my mom," Jean answered before waving goodbye, "I'll meet up with you guys later."
"Bye Jean Boy!" Connie teased, earning a middle finger from his friend walking away.
"Let's get something to eat," Armin suggested.
"And then we can drink 'til we all pass out!" Connie cheered.
"Guess you should be lucky Wheeljack and I will be willing to drive you home," Arcee said as she walked towards a food stall with the others. She stopped; however, when she noticed Eren staring up at the sky.
"Something wrong?" Arcee asked.
"No...I'm actually glad that I was able to contribute to something good," Eren confessed.
Arcee gave a small pat on Eren's shoulder. "C'mon. I think there are a few Cybertronian games I can translate for humans to enjoy."
"We're probably going to end up sick by the end of it," Eren proclaimed.
"Maybe," Arcee agreed.
===
Optimus continued to quietly read in his library, wanting to enjoy this moment of peace and quiet. The official holiday get everyone excited and he wanted to take a step back from that. He did hope the others enjoyed themselves on this day.
The Prime glanced out the window to see the stars in the night sky. He wondered what Cybertron was doing right now.
(17 has been asked, but the rest is free game).
How would the tfp bots and cons react to a vehicon who is different among the rest and has developed a conscience and is done by the mistreatment and abuse he and his other vehicon companions suffer and he easily convince the other vehicon to rebel against the decepticons and make their own life away from the war
Autobots:
Optimus is proud of the Vehicon, he is glad they were able to choose a different path for themselves. He had always felt guilty when he had to fight against them. But hearing that some left the Decepticon cause made him feel hopeful for the future.
Ratchet laughs. He finds it funny that Megatron has lost most of his army. He also suggests to Optimus that if there was a perfect time to strike, it was now.
Arcee, like Ratchet wants to use it as an in. She doesn't give much thought to the Vehicons, if they want to go live a peaceful life away from everyone they can. What she's focusing on, is how empty the Decepticon ship is.
Bumblebee wants to know where they are going and what they plan to do. That's a large amount of vehicons, do they plan to just stay hidden on Earth? He's a little worried they'll walk into humans, but there's nothing he can do about it. All he can do is sit back and see what happens.
Bulkhead wonders if they can try and recruit them. He can think of so many tasks to give them that would make their lives easier. He would make sure to treat them better than Megatron ever did, but they could still be useful additions to the team.
Decepticons:
Megatron is furious, he's giving them a chance for a better future and they are choosing to abandon him. Good riddance to them all. They best hide, because if he catches them he'll make them regret leaving.
Starscream is surprised. Unsure how, when, or why they decided to go their own way. If any vehicons stay behind, he's very careful of the way he treats them and what he says to them. He doesn't want to do anything to make them turn on him.
Knockout isn't surprised they left, he was thinking it was only a matter of time. He's not going to stop them. However, it means more work will end up on him which he finds annoying.
Breakdown can understand their mass exodus, their treatment was far from pleasant. He's honestly curious what Megatron is going to do without half his army. Though like Knockout he's a little grumpy that all work will be put onto him instead.
Soundwave can stop a few from leaving. Since they would rather not go against him. If Megatron asks him to then Soundwave will go and round up the others and bring them back. He's sure he can find a way to coerce them back under their control.
New Bot on the Block
The arrival of a new Autobot on Earth was always an exciting event. The arrival of a new Autobot from another dimension went well past the realms of excitement. As soon as they were told, it was enough to make the kids’ eyes bulge out of their heads and their mouths hang open in disbelief. And for the whole ride to base, it was all they could talk about to their Autobot guardians.
Only Bumblebee and Arcee came to pick them up, Bulkhead being sentenced to doing more exercises to help his recovery. That meant Miko had no choice but to ride with Raf and Bumblebee.
Miko asked questions a mile a minute, a wide grin on her face as she could hardly sit still in the passenger seat. Jack, albeit more tame, couldn’t resist asking Arcee what she knew and Raf was the same. How much patience could a person really have when knowing they were getting a visitor from a different universe?
The answer was next to none.
With the base in view, the two bots only increased their speed per request. Once inside, the kids were let loose.
It did not take them long to find Blurr, who was watching Optimus decode things from afar. He was not at all prepared for the children that had been unleashed upon him, mainly Miko. Thankfully, he could adapt.
“What’s your dimension like? Can you get any taller, or are all bots back at your home the same height as you? What do you transform into? How many fights have you been in? Oh, how many ‘Cons have you scrapped?”
He was slightly intimidated by her enthusiasm, but he could answer all her questions just fine. Explaining his whole universe wouldn’t take long for him to do, but he doubted a child could keep up in one go. His height was normal, thank you very much. Enough on that topic. His alt-mode was essentially just a race car, yet he could tell she was hoping for something more destructive. Fights, there’d been a few, though he wouldn’t get into them since that would require going into the explanation he said he would not tell. Still, he wasn’t sure that she had processed any of what he said due to his speed.
“I assume by ‘scrapping ‘Cons’ you are referring to the amount I’ve put offline?” He thought back to his first encounter with the Autobots. They had killed the Decepticons that had been after him like it was second nature.
“Duh!”
He crossed his arms. “Well then, I don’t find it necessary to disclose that information.”
“Lame,” she huffed.
The truth was that Blurr had never killed. Every fight he’d ever gotten involved with as part of the Elites Guard had ended up with the other person in stasis cuffs. He had his saw, technically a weapon, but he had never used it lethally. He… didn’t know if he could bring himself to do it, if it ever came down to that choice. It was another stark contrast between him and his new companions. They were all battle-hardened and wouldn’t hesitate to strike the killing blow. They fought through a war. They were still fighting through a war. How would they treat him if they knew he’d only been forged after his own?
Probably like one of these human children, and that was ridiculous. He was part of the Elite Guard, Cybertron’s best military! He was no protoform.
“So… what’s your race car mode look like?” Jack asked. He figured it was what Raf wanted to know, given his fondness of racing.
Blurr found it was better to show instead of tell in this case. He flashed a smile before transforming, revving up his engine. He was positive he heard Ratchet grumble something about there “never being a moment’s peace” but he didn’t pay much mind to it.
“Whoa.” Raf could only stare in amazement. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen any kind of car like this!”
“Universal differences, perhaps!”
“How fast can you go?”
Speed was always something he had taken pride in. “Fast enough to never have been beaten in a single race, wheels or no wheels. There were multiple times back in my universe where my Bumblebee tried to beat me and as much as he tried to, he couldn’t keep up even when I wasn’t going at my full speed-”
Smokescreen cut in at that point. “Why not another race? You, Bee, and me. It’d be fun!”
It did sound like a little fun, he had to admit. Though, the last time he’d been in a race had been completely against his will… taking time to actually think about it did not produce positive feelings. Ratchet beat him to an answer, something he was secretly grateful for.
“Absolutely not!” he snapped. “Need I remind you that we are robots in disguise? We can’t afford to attract unwanted attention because of you three parading around!”
“I’m pretty sure the rookie tossed that rule out the window the second he chose a race car as his vehicle mode,” Bulkhead said icily, looking pointedly at Smokescreen. Blurr was sensing some tension and he was not going to ask about it. Not right now, at least.
Smokescreen immediately threw the blame onto Bumblebee. “Hey, he chose a sports car first.”
“Hey, don’t drag me into this!” Bumblebee threw his hands up, optics wide.
“C’mon,” Miko piped up. “Just one race, it’d be fun! It doesn’t even have to be in Jasper, it could be somewhere really far away where no one else is around.”
Blurr’s alloy crawled at the idea and he hated himself for it. Racing wasn’t scary, he was being silly.
“I am inclined to agree with Ratchet,” Optimus spoke and Blurr jumped, not even realizing the Prime had taken a break from his decoding. “I fear it is possible that without the cloaking of our base, Blurr’s signal could be vulnerable to Decepticons since we first found him under attack from Decepticon soldiers. Until that problem is fixed, he should remain here.”
It made sense. Tagging along with them anywhere could put them in danger and he couldn’t even imagine what he would do if anything were to happen to them. It wouldn’t just be the guilt, it would also be that they were his best bet on getting home.
For the time being, any notion of Blurr racing was crossed out. That was good since it would give him time to work out his newfound aversion to racing.
But in the meantime, he was more or less tasked with entertaining the kids. Arcee was on patrol, Ratchet was keeping to himself, Optimus was busying himself with his work, and Bulkhead, Smokescreen, and Bumblebee had somehow slipped past him. That left them unaccounted for.
He didn’t mind, it was just that he didn’t quite know how to deal with Earth children. He had to slow himself down so they could at least begin to understand what he was saying. Maybe one day they could work their way up to his normal speech habits.
Despite his limited understanding, he seemed to be doing an okay job so far. Miko had climbed up onto his pede, standing inside one wheel and commenting how she felt like a hamster on a wheel. He, of course, had no idea what a hamster was. That turned into Raf taking out his laptop and searching up pictures of the surprisingly small creature.
“I have to admit that I really did expect something bigger if it runs on a wheel and looking at it now, I don’t see how it could even make a wheel budge!”
Jack let out a slight chuckle. “Hamster wheels aren’t like car wheels. They’re a lot smaller. Here,” He paused for a moment to take the laptop and find a suitable picture. “See?” Looking at the picture, now he got it. Though the picture froze it, he could tell the fuzzy little animal was running in place inside a plastic wheel. There were other variations, some wheels made out of metal wires.
Miko grunted from where she stood, trying to replicate the picture. “Give me a hand here, I’ve almost got it!”
“I really doubt that’ll work seeing as I’m opting to keep it in place and even if I wasn’t, I don’t think you possess enough strength to accomplish that on me.” He gave her a gentle nudge out of the wheel, making sure she landed safely. He was sure the others wouldn’t appreciate him accidentally harming a human on his first day here.
“Well, maybe if I had some help.” She cast a glance over at Raf and Jack.
“I’m not so sure about that,” Jack said and carefully handed the laptop back to Raf.
“I remain doubtful that the three of you could.” Blurr spun his wheels quickly, the rest of his body keeping still before he brought it to an abrupt stop. “Don’t take it the wrong way but I can’t even begin to imagine that it’d be all too enjoyable for me to watch or in general for you to attempt.” Slow down. He had to talk slowly for the kids, he reminded himself. Even if he found it… annoying.
They hadn’t actually been listening to him though, more fixated on his wheels.
“How’d you do that without transforming?” Miko asked.
Could the Autobots here just… not do that? That was funny. Well, not necessarily funny, but he found it interesting. “Every Cybertronian in my universe is perfectly capable of doing it, unless of course they don’t possess any wheels and are instead a flier, but that’s besides my point and isn’t all that important! I assume Cybertronians here have transformation cogs as well since it’s necessary for transforming. Do I have that right?”
Raf was the first to respond, giving him a nod. “I guess in your universe, Autobots and Decepticons are just made differently than here. Maybe that has to do with mobility,” he suggested.
Okay, Blurr was starting to like this kid. Would it be wrong to pick favorites? “That’s certainly possible! Ratchet can already confirm that my energon isn’t like his or anyone else he’s encountered in this universe and he’s told me he wants to conduct more research later on so then we should be able to have an answer.”
“Maybe you can tell me about it!”
Miko’s expression could only be described as bewildered. “Hold up, are you telling me you get every word of that?” she asked Raf. Blurr tried not to frown since he thought he had been doing a good job of talking slower.
He smiled and adjusted his glasses. “Well, when you live in a house like mine, you tend to pick up on all kinds of ways people talk. Seriously, my family’s huge. If you wanna survive, then you’ve gotta learn.”
Oh, Blurr was definitely leaning towards a favorite child already.
Hours of more questions, chatter, and even a tour of the base, passed by until the kids were sent home. They had curfews and if they stayed out a minute too late, it would mean trouble. Apparently Jack’s mom knew about the secret of the Autobots, but the rest of their families were in the dark.
For robots in disguise, there seemed to be a handful of humans who knew about their existence. Secrecy had been no problem for the ragtag group of Autobots back in Detroit. They were all free to flaunt themselves with no consequences of being seen. Except Blurr of course, due to his mission (which he was doing an excellent job of remaining hidden until somebot messed it up).
“Blurr.”
The intelligence officer craned his neck up to Optimus. He was going to have to get used to that. “Yes?”
“Since you will be staying with us, you will need your own space.” He began walking and Blurr took it as a cue to follow. The pair walked down the hall, passing by all the collected relics. The kids had given him some insight on them. Then they made a turn, which Blurr remembered to be the rooms of everyone else, along with some more empty ones.  “While you were speaking with the children, a room was prepared for you.”
Standing outside a previously unoccupied room was Bumblebee, Bulkhead and Smokescreen. He didn’t say it, but he was surprised that Bulkhead had actually worked together with Smokescreen on something.
“It was pretty much ready before we started,” Smokescreen said.
Bumblebee nodded. “Just a little dusty. And we didn’t know what you like, so it’s still a little empty. Sorry.”
“Since you can’t leave the base yet, we’ll get you whatever you want,” Bulkhead added.
Blurr took a step inside, his optics sweeping over the room so he could take in all the details. The berth was large, but when the time came for him to lay down to recharge, it’d be comically large. There was a desk with some storage departments that had more room than he would probably end up needing. A chair came with that desk, though he wasn’t sure he’d ever actually sit down in it. His mind worked better when he was moving around.
None of it was perfect. Nothing about this day had been perfect.
But surprisingly, he realized that he liked it. With some changes of his own, he could make this work.
“Thank you,” he said and snapped his attention back to the others. “I’m grateful and wish I could express that better, but at the moment I’m very exhausted.”
A few more words were exchanged before the four Autobots bade him goodnight and let him be. Once the door closed, he was left in complete silence. And once he turned off the light, he was left in silence and darkness. He hadn’t realized how much he needed a moment of peace until just now.
He just climbed onto the berth (his estimations of it becoming comically large, proving to be correct) and closed his optics.
Things had been mostly normal when he intercepted that signal between Megatron and his spy. His plan had taken a few dents once his cover was blown, but things had seemed to be going uphill once he joined up with the Optimus Prime and his Autobots. And then everything unraveled again when he got sent through that spacebridge and stranded in another universe, immediately welcomed by hostile Decepticons. And now he was with Autobots like the ones he’d become slightly familiar with back in Detroit, yet completely different.
He wasn’t sure if being dead would be worse. He couldn’t be bothered to think about it.
So, he let himself drift off into stasis.
“We’re gonna have to tell that loud human about all this, right?” Smokescreen asked.
“Fowler?”
“Yeah, him.”
That was a given. “Yes,” Optimus said. “Though, I believe that can wait until tomorrow when everyone is better rested.”
Bulkhead snorted. “That’ll be fun.”
Suffice to say, Fowler was going to be in for a long headache.
.... okay just some pure self-indulgent nonsense what if for the SG OP replaces BL OP.
So BL OP somehow returns. And obviously, there'll be conflict between him and the Decepticons. But Megatron starts to appear less and less, and he's only facing SG OP on the field.
He and Megatron used to be friends. It could be valuable tactical knowledge to see if this mockery of himself has usurped Megatron. So he asks where Megatron is.
And SG OP's reaction is quite unexpected. He turns furious, snarls at Optimus and there's definitely possessiveness and jealousy in his EM field. Optimus is left very confused.
Through whatever means, they discover exactly why Megatron hasn't taken to the field in a while. He's carrying.
Which BL OP is surprised to find he has a lot of conflicting emotions about. He knew Megatron was in love with him, etc. It's a mess.
SG OP seems to think BL OP will try to steal Megatron from him and ends up threatening Ratchet to keep BL OP away.
Ohhhoh now that? That is going to go in so many interesting directions.
So, so many interesting directions.
I feel like the conflict will be ~different-y~ since SG Optimus came. The vibe is just. Different now. BL Optimus came back to one hell of a wrecked situation that fucked with the war so much.
The partitioning here of BL Megatron's role and SG Optimus's role is so cool, because I'd argue rn he's the SIC. Idk if this is during BL Starscream's rogue era, or if he's straight up been kicked out of the position, or if I'm just wrong
BL Optimus is right here because from what he's seen? It's definitely a reasonable scenario, SG Optimus becoming the leader of the decepticons.
I feel like either someone blabs and there'll be consequences to them for this, it's found out through espionage, or if SG Optimus says it during battle.
Oh how that would happen. This version of BL Optimus, BL Megatron, and the state of their Megop situation sits on the wrong side of "it's complicated" territory.
Yeah that sounds like a SG Optimus decision. Dude has reasons to think he's gonna be forcibly replaced (see: SG Goldbug, SG Prowl, and SG Ultra Magnus so very much), makes sense he'd apply that earned paranoia here. So of course, he goes for arguably the one person BL Oppy cares about the most: BL Ratchet.
Sorry if I’m asking too many questions about your TADC AU but I really like the concept a lot
I just wanted to know: while Smokescreen has his circus shenanigans how are the Autobots doing? What are their feelings on Smokescreen’s current state? How has Smokescreen’s absence affected the team?
Honestly, I like when people ask questions. No amount of questions are too many.
Autobots-
Optimus: He blames himself for what happened to Smokescreen. If he had stopped Smokescreen from leaving, if had made Arcee stop, if he hadn't held back Bulkhead... Maybe, just maybe, Smokescreen would be okay. He'd be awake. Any time Optimus isn't doing anything, he's sitting next to Smokescreen.
Ratchet: He pushes his emotions aside the best he can. He's in charge of making sure Smokescreen is healthy, that he doesn't end up dieing of low fuel or something. He also ends up having to take more care of Optimus, especially when he ends up falling asleep next to Smokescreen.
Bulkhead: He feels like he's lost a brother. Bulkhead ends up spending as much time with Wheeljack as he can. Trying to stay way from the base. He knows that if he spent a lot time there he'd end up like Optimus. Spending hours waiting for Smokescreen to wake.
Bumblebee: He throws himself into focusing on the war. He does his best to forget about Smokescreen, not wanting to let himself be affected by the sorrow.
Arcee: She also blames herself, not as much as Optimus though. She never really liked Smokescreen that much, but it was still her fault that he had ran out of base and got caught.
Wheeljack & Ultra Magnus: They didn't really know Smokescreen that much, but they still feel sad about Smokescreen's condition.
Humans-
Miko: She ends up doing the same thing as Bulkhead. Spending most of her time with the two wreakers just to avoid seeing Smokescreen.
Jack: Out of all the humans he was probably the closest to Smokescreen. He did his best to stay strong for everyone else though.
Raf: He threw himself into helping Ratchet. It got to the point that Ratchet ended up teaching him basic Cybertronian medical techniques.
June: She did her best to help Ratchet with what she new about human comas, but she new it wasn't much help anyways.
Agent Fowler: He stayed strong. Fowler never had a relationship with Smokescreen and therefore was able to not let the event affect him.
Transformers Prime—Part 7: Ground Zero and a Promise
You and Arcee pull up to the parking lot of Ko Burgers, where Jack is leaning over his 10 speed bicycle. You flash back to the day you met Jack, in a situation not unlike the one you are in now. Arcee parks in a spot behind Jack, shuts off her engine, and pops her kickstand out. You tighten the ponytail that your h/c hair is in and take a deep breath.
“Nice bike, Jack,” you say, and the teen whips around at the sound of your voice. “Personally I think this blue one here looks better. She matches your eyes.”
You smirk and dismount Arcee, walking over to where Jack stands.
“Y/n, really, Miko already tried. And Arcee, if Optimus sent you tell him I respect him big time, but if you’re at war with the Decepticons, there’s nothing I can do to help,” says Jack, turning around so his back faces us.
“Optimus didn’t send me, and no one’s asking for your help,” says Arcee behind you.
 “Ok, so if we both agree that I’m not warrior material…” Jack trails off.
“Jack, just yesterday I followed you onto the Decepticon Warship because you were worried that Miko was in danger. You could have waited and called for backup, you probably should have anyway, but without even thinking you left the safety of the Autobot base to rescue her!” You exclaim.
“Well yeah, but we ended up getting captured, didn’t we?” Jack argues, facing you again.
“But we escaped. Jack, I watched as you saved all of our lives multiple times. In that room when the Decepticon was shooting at Raf, who tackled him out of the way so that he wouldn’t get shot? And in the hallway when that Decepticon head was about to squish Miko, who pulled her out of the way? And when that explosion knocked out my hearing, who grabbed my hand and led me to safety? Jack, you risked your life to protect ours. And you say you’re not warrior material?” You say, flinging out your hands for emphasis.
Jack frowns and rubs the back of his neck, looking at the ground.
“I didn’t want any of you guys to get hurt,” he says quietly, turning around and grabbing his bike. “Besides, I’m not a warrior. I didn’t ask for any of this to happen to me.”
Jack mounts his bike and gets ready to leave. You bite your lip and mount Arcee, but before you leave you say, “Fate rarely calls upon us at a moment of our choosing, Jack.”
You can see that it struck a nerve, because Jack hesitates; you can practically see his mind working over what you just said. He looks at you and you can tell that what you said works.
“Do you think anyone would be glad to see me back?” He asks with a small smile.
“I can think of a few people. Besides, I think Arcee really missed you,” you say, matching his smile.
“I’m right here you know,” says Arcee indignantly.
You and Jack laugh and head to Jack’s home to drop off his bike. You get off and let Jack sit in the front of Arcee with you on the back. Smiling to yourself, you’re glad that Optimus was right, Jack could come back if he chose to. With a little convincing.
When you, Arcee, and Jack pull into the base, all the Autobots are facing the ground bridge, ready to go somewhere.
“Hey. Guess who’s back?” Asks Jack, pulling his white motorcycle helmet off.
“Autobots, prepare for departure,” says Optimus, ignoring Jack.
“Ouch, sounds like you’ve been missed,” you say to Jack teasingly, to which Jack responds by lightly punching your non-injured shoulder.
“Where too?” Asks Arcee, stepping forward.
“The final frontier!” Says Miko in a dramatic voice.
Your eyes widen and you inhale slightly. “Woah, you guys are going to space?”
“I thought they didn’t have a way to get there?” Asks Jack.
“They don’t, really,” says Raf, being lowered to the ground by Bumblebee.
You frown and look over to Cliffjumper, who is standing by Ratchets’ med bay. You jog over to him and he crouches down on one knee, wearing a smile that doesn’t quite reach his eyes.
“Hey y/n. So, space huh? Should be fun.”
“You better come back in one piece, Cliff,” you say and your frown deepens.
Ratchet said the ground bridge could transport the Autobots to anywhere on Earth, but what about outside of Earth?
“Oh, don’t worry about me! Nothing’s going to happen to me,” says Cliffjumper.
“You don’t know that,” you say, looking away from Cliffjumper. “And this time, I won’t be hiding with a rock to throw at any Decepticons that want to mess with you.”
Your brows crease with worry and unease, but Cliffjumper waves a dismissive hand.
“You’re such a worrier! I’ll be fine y/n,” he says and you look up uncertainly at Cliffjumpers’ bright blue eyes. They are filled with determination and confidence, but you can see the anxiety he tucks away.
“Besides,” adds Cliffjumper, “You can’t get rid of me that easily! You’re stuck with me—”
“For the long haul,” you finish, smiling at the frase that you and Cliffjumper had started saying to each other, and place your hand on his bright red arm. The metal was cool and patchy in some places, scuff marks showing signs of the many battles the bot had been in.
“I guess I can’t get rid of you that easily,” you say and Cliffjumper winks at you.
“Cliffjumper, it is time to go,” Optimus says, standing next to the ground bridge that Ratchet has already powered up. Cliffjumper stands and nods to the tall bot.
“See you soon, Cliff,” you say. “Bring me back something cool.”
“Ya got it,” says Cliffjumper, walking over to the other Autobots.
The two parts of Optimus’ battle mask slide together and he yells, “Autobots, roll out!”
You watch as Cliffjumper transforms into his sleek Dodge Challenger and follows Optimus through the vortex of green and purple swirling light. And then the Autobots disappear into the light, transported to the stars. Ratchet closes the portal and mans his battle station, bringing up all of the Autobots’ signals on his computer monitor.
You walk over to Ratchet and silently climb up the ladder to the platform with the human sized computers. You reach the railing facing the medic and swing your legs over the bar so you can sit on the railing. Ratchet briefly glances over your direction before turning back   and promptly ignoring you. You aren’t bothered by this and instead turn to watch as Jack, Miko, and Raf start climbing the ladder behind you. They all find seats next to the computers and you turn back to listen intently to the comm chatter, but you can’t hear very well and start to worry.
Did the Autobots make it through the ground bridge? Is Cliffjumper ok? What’s going on?
You didn’t know what was going on and you didn’t like it. You think you hear something so you lean closer to the computers, but quickly lose your balance. The cool metal railing skims your back and you let out a sharp intake of air as you start to fall through the air. A flash of white, orange, and silver fill your vision and you find yourself in the palm of Ratchet’s hand.
“Y/n! What were you doing? You need to be more careful! You could have gotten hurt if you fell,” Ratchet says sternly.
“I-I’m sorry, Ratchet. I couldn’t hear the comms and I was worried,” you mumble.
Ratchet stares at you a few moments before setting you gently back on the platform.
“They made it through just fine.”
Miko immediately asks if you are ok and you nod quickly as you release a deep breath and relief floods through you as you lean against the railing. You watch as Ratchet turns up the volume of the comm channel, and you can hear Optimus’ low voice speaking.
“Without the dish, Megatron will be unable to aim the space bridge towards Cybertron.”
“Don’t the Decepticons know where their own planet is?” Asks Raf.
“Naturally,” scoffs Ratchet, “but Cybertron is many light years away. To reach their target their aim must be astronomically precise.”
“Because if the Decepticons are even a few centimeters off, over that great of a distance it could be miles off, right?” You ask.
“That is correct, y/n,” Answers Ratchet.
“If Megatron went to the trouble of rendezvous with his space bridge, he must have an alternate targeting system,” says Optimus. “A remote one.”
“Hmph,” scoffs Ratchet. “From what I know of Earth’s technology, I doubt there exists a single radio telescope dish on this planet powerful enough to pinpoint Cybertron.”
“What about a whole bunch of linked radio telescope dishes?” Asks Raf, typing away on his laptop, and all eyes turn to the boy.
“Like that giant group of dishes in Texas?” You ask, picking up on what Raf is thinking.
“Ah ah ahh this is not child’s play!” Retorts Ratchet, leaning closer to you and Raf.
“Good thinking Raf and y/n,” Optimus says through the comms. “Ratchet, have Agent Fowler alert the array staff to the security hazard.”
Just then everyone looks to Agent Fowler who is laying in a medical bed. He sits up and yells to no one in particular, “Hey! Soldier! You’re out of uniform! Put on some pants,” and then slumps back down on the bed.
You at Ratchet share an incredulous look before he says, “That...may be a challenge.”
“Uh, my Dad works for the military. Maybe if someone logs into the network, they could pose as one of my Dad’s superiors and use their clearance to evacuate the security? But they'd have to bypass the firewall…all three of them,” you offer.
“That might work,” says Raf, although he looks unconvinced. “Can you get to the main website?”
You furrow your eyebrows in concentration and bite your lower lip, trying to remember the url address. You saw it a few times when your dad gave his mission reports. Nodding your head, you type in the address and work on getting past the firewalls. You type like a madman, but the code was a tricky one.
“Wait wait wait, you both know how to hack?” Asks Miko disbelievingly.
“I have a lot of free time,” you shrug.
But nothing you do seems to be working, and you sigh in frustration.
“Let me try, y/n,” offers Raf.
“Please, be my guest,” you say, hands gesturing to the laptop and standing back so Raf could work his magic.
Two hackers are better than one, right?
He types furiously for a few minutes before shaking his head and saying, “I can’t get past the erase firewalls, they’re too thick!”
“I didn’t say it would be easy,” you mutter under your breath.
“You two, actually think you can keep the Decepticons out?” Asks Ratchet cautiously.
“Maybe. If we could get in,” Raf says.
“Wait Raf, y/n, what if we could get you all the way in. Like, inside the building in?” Questions Jack.
“Of course! We wouldn’t have to bypass the firewalls because we would just be able to use the computers already in the building!” You exclaim.
“And then one of us could log into their internal network,” finishes Raf.
“This could work,” you murmur.
“The risk is too great, the Decepticons will be there. Perhaps even on site,” says Optimus from the comms, making Jack frown and step forward.
“Optimus, with all due respect you said it yourself, this is bigger than the safety of four humans.”
“Yeah, if we let the Decepticons win,” adds Miko, “we’re fragged along with everyone else on our planet.”
“Raf?” Asks Optimus.
You look over to Raf and he meets your gaze, nodding and then turning back to the computer.
“I want to give it a shot,” says Raf confidently.
“And y/n?” Asks Optimus.
“Let’s do it,” you grin.
“Then Ratchet, ready the ground bridge,” commands Optimus.
“Optimus, are you sure this is wise, leaving the fate of the planet to a bunch of children?”
Asks Ratchet, although he is already typing the coordinates into the ground bridge.
“They are the only chance we have in stopping Megatron from destroying Earth.”
“You gotta have faith in us, Ratchet,” you say.
Ratchet hesitates for a moment, hand hovering over the lever to activate the ground bridge. You think you see a flash of an emotion cross over his face, one that you can’t place, but it clears as soon as it appears, before Ratchet pulls the lever. You watch as the ground bridge powers up and you are the first one to slide down the ladder. The other kids follow as you begin walking through the ground bridge, shivering as a strange sensation surrounds your body. It feels like your bones are shivering and you get that same feeling you get when you're on a roller coaster that’s going upside down. The ground bridge makes a constant whirring sound that makes the ringing in your ears increase tenfold. You plug your ears and step out of the portal, stepping into the hot, dry land of Texas. After a few minutes the ringing quiets down, but doesn’t go away entirely.
Now that I think about it, that stupid ringing hasn’t gone away since I went to save Miko from the Decepticon Warship. I’ll have to talk to Ratchet about that.
“That’ll take some getting used to,” says Jack.
You agree but promptly fall silent as you notice the giant building in front of you with large radio telescope dishes lined up to the sides of the building and a barbed wire fence behind you. Stepping forward, you lead the others into the building and find the main computer room. You step aside and gesture for Raf to sit in front of the computer.
He raises an eyebrow and you say, “You’re a slightly better hacker than me. Slightly.”
Raf nods and hops into the chair, stretching his fingers before typing on the keyboard. You lean on the edge of the desk with the computer, hovering next to Raf.
“Shall we play a game?” You joke and Raf snorts.
“I’m in the network,” he says with satisfaction.
You frown and add, “but so are the Decepticons.”
“How can you tell?” Jack asks you.
“See the schematics on the computer?” You point to the computer screen. “This is the same kind of math that we saw on the Decepticons ship.”
“Only this time, we can download them,” Raf says while pulling out a flash drive.
“It’s got to be the space bridge,” Miko reasons.
“The Decepticons are sinking into the dishes, but I can sink to them,” says Raf.
“Will they know?” Asks Jack, leaning closer to the computer screen.
“Even if the Decepticons see that I’m in the system, they’ll have no idea that I’m in the house,” Raf explains.
“Look, the Decepticons are locking onto Cybertron,” you point to the computer again.
“Not for long,” says Raf, fingers flying over the keys. “Wait, the dishes are heading back towards Cybertron. I’ll just undo that again.”
“What happens when the Decepticons find out they’re being punked?” Asks Jack.
“Raf’s only cyber punking the Cons. You know, like when a bunch of people are fighting each other in video games,” you say.
“Yeah Jack,” Adds Miko, “what are the cons gonna do? They’re probably like a thousand miles away.”
Just then the door squeaks and you look behind you to see a weird black and purple colored tube-looking thing. The end that looks at you has a bunch of smaller hanging tentacle-like tubes. You gasp and the thing attacks you, grabbing you with its mouth and sending you flying across the room. Your back hits the wall and you slide down it, feeling dazed. You try to get up and have to dodge to the right as Jack and Miko get flung next to you. You are sure the tube belongs to a Decepticon, which you realize a few moments later is probably in the security building with you. The Decepticon then starts to attack Raf and he has to dodge out of the way as well. All of a sudden you hear Miko yelling and with a running leap pulls out a fire axe out of who knows where, and proceeds to take a swing at the Decepticon. She misses and the Decepticon knocks her against the wall, causing Miko to drop the axe. To your horor, the Con picks up the axe and brandishes it menacingly.
“You handed it an axe?” Yells Jack.
“No bueno,” you say flatly as the axe-wielding Decepticon raises the weapon.
But then it retracts and takes the axe out of the room.
“Come on come on!” You yell as you rush out of the room, following the Decepticon as it speeds down hallways. You don’t have time to look behind you to see if the others are following you but the slapping of shoes and the huffing of breath tell you they are. You slam up against a pair of double doors and frantically turn the door knob to reveal a tall black and purple Decepticon standing on the cross beams of the roof. The Decepticon turns around and looks at you with a black, smooth screen, and you can see your reflection in the blank face. Miko pulls out her flip phone and takes a picture of the Decepticon, but the Con also takes a picture of us. He then transforms into a plane and quickly flies away.
“Why is he leaving?” Asks Miko.
You look down to the mess of intertwined wires leading to different server hard drives and notice the fire axe that the Decepticon had taken from Miko. You crouch down next to the axe and say “He cut the hard drive wire. Cybertron is locked into the dishes. For good.”
“Surely there’s a way to unlock the dishes, right y/n?” Asks Jack, but you just shake your head sadly.
“There’s nothing we can do. The Autobots are on their own. We should ask Ratchet to bridge us back to base.”
The others nod and you call Ratchet to let him know what happened on your phone, walking out of the building to the place where you came in through the bridge. You walk through the ground bridge and back to base where Ratchet waits.
“The Decepticons may have a lock on Cybertron, but there is still a way to shut down the space bridge,” says Ratchet.
You and the other kids walk over to the platform next to Ratchets’ computers and climb the ladder, Raf sitting at one of the computers, Jack and Miko standing nearby, and you leaning up against the railing and watching Ratchet. You look past him and notice that Agent Fowler is awake and that he is walking over to the platform across from you. You turn your attention back to the computers and see that Ratchet has pulled up the planet Cybertron, which is facing a space bridge on one of the monitors and you can see a bunch of purple dots blinking on the screen.
“Uhh, Ratchet? What are those blinking purple lights?” You ask, watching as they get closer every second.
“Those are the Cybertronian warriors resurrected by Megatron,” states Ratchet as if it is obvious.
“These things are getting closer. That’s bad, right?” Agent Fowler points out.
Ratchet pulls up a schematic of the space bridge and is able to lead Arcee, Bumblebee, and Bulkhead to a switch underneath the space bridge that could shut off the space bridge. Optimus, you found out, was currently locked in an epic duel with Megatron. You listen intently as Ratchet gives instructions to Arcee and you hold your breath as Arcee reverses the current of the space bridge power. You walk over to the railing that faces the ground bridge as Ratchet begins powering it up. The other kids stand next to you, Jack and Agent Fowler on your right and Miko and Raf on your left. You shift nervously from foot to foot, absentmindedly tapping a rhythm on the railing in front of you as you wait for the Autobots to walk through the portal. You wait and you wait and the time seems to stretch on and on for an eternity.
“Do you…think they’re…” Raf starts.
Ratchet looks to his arm where the life forms of the Autobots are monitored and says, “Five life signals. One, very faint.”
Your eyes widen and a picture of Cliffjumpers’ lifeless form flashes through your mind.
No. No no no. Please please don’t be him. Don’t let it be Cliffjumper. It can’t be. It just can’t. PLease let him be ok. He has to come back to me.
Then a tall figure comes through the portal, and you are relieved to see that it’s Optimus. You can instantly tell that something is wrong, even though his metal face mask is still up. You make eye contact and stare at him for a moment, silently asking him a question.
Is everyone ok?
Optimus breaks eye contact as a second form appears through the ground bridge, Bulkhead. Miko yells his name and runs down the stairs, rushing over to where the large bot extends a hand which Miko gladly hugs. Raf and Jack run down the stairs to meet their guardians, but you don’t move and keep staring at Optimus, but he won’t look back in your direction.
That’s not good.
A third form appears, black and yellow paint revealing Bumblebee. Raf’s face lights up and he rushes over to Bumblebee who kneels and makes a series of beeping noises to Raf. You wait anxiously, pulling your braided h/c hair over your shoulder and twist it around and around your finger. Just then you can make out an oddly shaped figure in the light of the portal and sharply inhale as Cliffjumper steps out of the portal, carrying Arcee, who is limp in his arms. The scene might have been romantic if it had not been for the dire circumstances. You also see that the leg that Cliffjumper had in a brace is leaking a strange blue liquid, and he is limping. You run down the stairs and rush over to Cliffjumper and Arcee.
“Arcee! Cliffjumper, what happened? Are you alright? Is Arcee going to be ok?”
Jack runs over to Arcee and stands next to you, worry etched in his face. You place your hand gently on the side of his shoulder.
“We’ve lost so much in this war, by the All Spark don’t let her be another,” Ratchet murmurs to himself.
Jack walks up to Arcee and places his hand in her palm. To your relief Arcee opens her eyes and weakly says “Jack, really? There are other motorcycles in the world.”
“But, you’re my first,” Jack says.
Cliffjumper puts Arcee down and kneels down next to you, but winces as his injured leg bends, his hand instinctively grabbing the injury.
“Hey y/n,” he says a little hoarsely.
Your throat tightens and you place your small hand on Cliffjumpers’ large one, squeezing and looking up to your guardian.
“You weren’t worried about me were you?” Asks Cliffjumper, raising an eyebrow.
“Well, maybe. A little,” you frown. “What happened to your leg? You weren’t limping earlier. And what’s all that blue stuff? Are you going to be ok?”
“Woah, easy now. I’ll live. Besides, it’s nothing Doc can’t fix,” replies Cliffjumper coolly.
“Well? What happened? Which Con am I going to have to beat up?” You ask, punching your fist.
Cliffjumper snorts and says, “Yeah, I’m not sure you want to be fighting Megatron.”
“What?!” Your eyes widen and your mouth hangs open. “Megatron did that to you?”
“Shot me in the leg. Too bad he blew up, I wanna rematch,” Cliffjumper says as he shifts on his leg. He makes a hissing noise and his face grimaces. You look up at him with concern but he waves his hand and says “I’m fine, I’m fine. I’ve come back from plenty worse.”
You see that the blue liquid coming from Cliffjumper’s leg is flowing faster than it did before and you anxiously look around for Ratchet.
“No, no, you’re hurt pretty bad. You need to see Ratchet,” you say worriedly.
“Oh come on, you’re overreacting! I don’t need Ratchet!” Cliffjumper insists but you remain unconvinced.
As if on cue, Ratchet turns around and comes over to where you and Cliffjumper are talking. Ratchet assesses Cliff's injury by scanning his leg with a beam of green light that turns red when scanning Cliffjumpers’ leg.
“Hm, you’ve lost a good amount of energon,” comments Ratchet.
“What’s energon?” You ask curiously.
“The fuel and lifeblood of all Autobots and Decepticons alike,” explains Optimus, startling you because you didn’t hear him walk over. “How are Cliffjumper’s injuries?”
“Yeah, will he be ok?” You ask Ratchet worriedly.
“Yes, he will be alright,” the medic replies impatiently. “But he must stay off of his leg, I suggest taking a break from being y/n’s guardian, at least until the wound heals completely.”
“What?!” You and Cliffjumper say at the same time.
“For how long?” You ask grimly.
“At least a few days,” replies Ratchet.
“Aw come on Doc!” Whines Cliffjumper.
“I believe that is for the best, Cliffjumper,” Optimus says.
“But what about Cliffjumper! Who’ll be my guardian?” You question, afraid of the answer.
“I’m her guardian!” Says Cliffjumper fiercely. “Y/n doesn’t need any other bot, I feel fine.”
He transforms and does a few donuts around the base, much to the annoyance of Ratchet, before transforming back to his bot form.
“See? I’m fine! Don’t lock me up in here, I’ll go crazy,” says Cliffjumper determinedly.
“Ratchet, what do you think?” Asks Optimus.
Ratchet sighs loudly and pointedly looks at Cliffjumper before saying, “Fine! But if his injury gets any worse, I will pull him from being a guardian!”
“Very well,” says Optimus.
You notice Miko walk over and she stands next to you, looking up at Optimus and asking, “So, is this the part where you say goodbye and tell us we need to forget that we saw you?”
Optimus is silent for a moment before he answers. “Without a means of leaving this world, we Autobots take strength in the bonds we have forged with you four,” and for some reason Optimus looks directly at you. “Though we did not choose to be of Earth, it would seem that we are here to stay,”
You look over at Cliffjumper and he smiles at you. You’ve only known Cliffjumper for a week, but after almost being shot at and killed with him, you feel like you’ve known Cliffjumper your whole life. You smile back and look over at Jack, Miko, and Raf, glad to have made such amazing friends, and something Optimus said rings in your head.
We Autobots take strength in the bonds we have forged.
***
You wave as Jack, Miko, and Raf leave the Autobot base to go home. Cliffjumper opens the passenger door and you slide into the seat, closing the door. You reach for the seatbelt but Cliffjumper says “I got it,” and buckles you in safely.
You smile and thank him as he drives through the tunnel and onto the road to take you home.
“Be honest, those donuts hurt a lot didn’t they?” You ask with a cocky grin.
“Pff I don’t know what you’re talking about,” says Cliffjumper.
“Oh come on, don’t be a hero about it,” you press.
“Well, ok. It hurt a little,” admits Cliffjumper, but you raise your eyebrow.
“Only a little bit?” You question and he sighs loudly.
“Ok fine! Yes, it hurt a lot. Happy?” Retorts Cliffjumper defensively.
“Sheesh, so sensitive,” you tease.
“Are you going to keep mocking me? Cause that walk to your house is a long one,”
 “Alright, ok, I’m sorry,” you put your hands up. “You know, you should have let someone else drive me home. Like Ratchet, or Optimus, or I’m sure Jack could have dropped me off. You might be hurting your leg even more.”
“Let’s get one thing straight kid, I drive you home. Not Ratchet, not Optimus, me. Besides, Ratchet would probably kill you and Optimus would fill your head with useless quotes about leadership. From henceforth until forever, you will be driven home by yours truly,” states Cliffjumper defensively.
“From henceforth until forever? Aww, defensive and loyal. I’ve found quite the guardian,” you grin widely.
“Ugh, wipe that stupid grin off your face,” says Cliffjumper, but you can hear him chuckling quietly.
“But don’t change the subject! Don’t think I haven’t forgotten about your injured leg, Cliffjumper,” you exclaim sternly.
“Scrap, I hoped you’d forgotten about that,” Cliffjumper mutters.
“Yeah, nice try. You may be my guardian, but someone has to keep you safe and healthy,” you say.
“Ahh, but that’s Ratchet’s job!” Whines Cliffjumper. “I don’t need two people babying me. Ratchet’s bad enough as it is.”
“Do you actually listen to Ratchet?” You ask, already guessing the answer.
“Well, no. Not really,” admits Cliffjumper.
“That’s what I thought,” you reply. “Besides, how am I supposed to be stuck with you for the long haul if you’ve bled to death or you're missing a leg and can’t drive anymore?”
“You sound just like Ratchet,” complains Cliffjumper.
“Is he wrong?” You ask, but he doesn’t respond. “He sounds just as concerned for you as I am.”
“Actually, I think you’re worse than Ratchet, which is worrying,” Cliffjumper says seriously, but you know he’s teasing you.
All too soon you see your house through the windshield and Cliffjumper pulls up to the curb that’s across from your house. You notice that it has the perfect view through your window, and you can see your bedroom lit up by the setting sun. Slowly you reach over to unclip your seatbelt, wishing this time you spend with Cliffjumper could last forever. Once again the image of Cliffjumper’s lifeless body lying somewhere flashes through your head, and you shake your head to get the thought out.
“You alright?” Cliffjumper asks.
You don’t answer right away, instead turning your head to look at the sun set. The sky seems to burst with color, blues, pinks, purples, oranges and yellows fading into each other. The golden rays of the sun filter through Cliffjumpers window and warm your bare skin. It was beautiful, and you took a deep breath before answering Cliffjumper.
“W-what if…it was you, instead of Arcee?” You ask timidly. “What if you got hurt? I was able to help you when those Cons tried to kill you when we first met, but I won’t always be able to protect you. I-I-I can’t…if you got hurt really bad…I mean…”
You looked down to where your hands were clasped tightly in your lap.
“Hey,” says Cliffjumper firmly but gently. “You don’t need to protect me. I’m the one that protects you, got it? The Decepticons tried to hurt you, but I’m not going to let that happen again. I will protect you, and I will protect your home. Understand?”
You nod and look at Cliffjumper’s radio. “It’s your home too,”
“What?” He asks.
“The Decepticons destroyed your home, Cybertron, right? So now this is your home. With us humans, with me,” you say.
“Hmm,” Cliffjumper hums in thought. “You know, when I first came to Earth, I wasn’t so sure. I lost a lot during the War for Cybertron; friends, family, my home. But then I met you, and everything changed. Now I have a new friend, and a new home.”
“Oh, now you’re getting sentimental. Megatron really dinged you up, huh?” You joke.
“You started it.”
“Oh, real mature Cliffjumper.”
“You know, I think your parents are probably wondering where you are.”
“Nah, I’m sure they’re not worried.”
You open the door and step out of the car, walking to the front and placing your hand on Cliffjumpers’ hood, right next to the broken metal bull horn.
“Please be careful when you drive me to school tomorrow. Don’t overdo yourself, if you need to rest your leg please let me know,” you say with concern.
“Yes Ratchet, I’ll be careful,” Cliffjumper says.
“Mock me all you want, I’m serious,” you pat his hood affectionately. “Please promise me that you’ll be ok.”
“I promise you that nothing will ever happen to me. You’re stuck with me for the long haul, remember?”
“Good, because if something does happen to you I’ll never let you hear the end of it!”
Cliffjumper laughs and you can hear the smile in his voice as he says “Good night y/n.”
“G’night. I’ll see you tomorrow,” you respond.
“Sleep well,” Cliffjumper says warmly.
“You too, Cliff,”
You turn around and walk into your house, smiling to yourself as you close the front door behind you.
*Not a request. Just a chaotic ramble*
I saw the TFP x Pokemon Trainer asked and I couldn't help but share this with you. The amount of shenanigans to occur as neither faction has no experience when to comes to these magical creatures nor Trainer!Reader's profession.
I will go for Rescue Worker example since mundane occupations feel more interesting plus chaotic neutral who doesn't side with either faction. They rescue those in need, not join or have their Pokemon fight an actual war. Any combat based training is to deter and restrain rampaging 'mons so they won't hurt themselves.
Megatron is most likely to encounter Trainer!Reader first with obvious hostile attentions. Optimus follows close behind as his rival is too much for his Autobots. The amount of surprise from both as Reader just shrugs Buckethead off and sick a Trevenant on him.
(I chose this Pokemon for an example cause the Pokedex entry will cause concern for the Autobots but interest from the Decepticons since it says to lethally attack those who harm the forest aka is very dangerous. Plus it's a ghost type so there are questions on how it's even alive and can force someone like Megatron to retreat. https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Trevenant_(Pok%C3%A9mon). )
Trainer!Reader comes and goes as they please there's always a Pokemon who can Teleport them away if needed. Questions don't really bother em nor any requests for a spar with their team. Once trust(or relationship) is set then my favorite shenanigan is asking a bot to look after a Pokemon Egg.
A simple task that immediately goes awry when the item hatches and the newborn thinks their bot caretaker is their parent. The image of a little Pokemon following Predaking, Soundwave, Bulkhead, Starscream, Ratchet or Optimus like a lost duckling is hilarious to me. TFP Sounders would be over the moon about it though while Ratty pretends he's annoyed but spoils the little 'mon rotten.
It's what I think anyways.
Good thoughts in my opinion. Megs definitely needs to learn to be kinder to the trees or he's gonna get the reader's Trevenant on his aft, and I feel like that might not end very well for Megs. I'm not saying he would die, but he'd get what he deserves. I also like the idea of the reader being neutral and just sort of saving Pokemon, keeping them safe from the fighting that's going on and not really involving themself in the war.
Bee would be absolutely terrified to look after a pokemon egg, since he's seen how fragile chicken eggs are. Of course pokemon eggs are much sturdier, but he doesn't know that, so he's incredibly careful with it. When the pokemon hatches, Bee is over the moon and relieved that he doesn't have to care for the egg anymore. Now he has a pokemon to look after, and he finds it to be a lot of fun.
I feel like Soundwave would definitely also spoil the Pokemon he comes across or the ones that take a liking to him. He's always got some treats on him. I imagine him just sitting in the middle of the woods and some Pokemon approaching him cautiously, and he gives them treats and just lets them climb all over him.
Warning:.. None
Authors note: I accidentally went a little overboard as he is one of my favorite characters so enjoy ❤️ (I'm also glad that you enjoy my work)
Tumblr media
For the past week, he has been a wreck. He had just proposed to you no more than a month ago. Which meant your marriage was coming soon. You had to reassure him almost every day that everything was fine. He was mainly nervous because this meant that you would finally be all his and he would be yours for the rest of your lives, But he was happy to share the rest of his life with you.
He remembers when he first asked you out and how He would never have thought that he would marry you or little alone date you. he would dream of this day and is happy with himself that it is becoming a reality. one of the main problems he had at first is where it would be held at. he eventually picked a place on earth as the two of you decided that you wanted to stay on planet earth.
"Megs... it's going to be fine. don't worry about it" You reassured him again and again. "I know. I guess I've been waiting for this moment for so long. maybe a bit too long" He chuckled. he was fixing his suit in his holoform. both of you guys agreed to host the wedding in everyone's Holoforms. The attendees were mainly close friends and some Decepticons and Autobots that were formed after the war.
everyone was happy for the two of you and Megatron was no longer nervous and didn't think that it was all that bad.
Optimus had mixed feelings on the matter but was happy that you were the reason that he didn't destroy the earth. He understood that he shouldn't have been invited since he was rivals with Megatron for the longest time but felt honored to be invited anyway
Whenever you are happy, Ratchet is happy but is overprotective of you ever since you first told him about your crush on Megatron. He would take the role of walking you down the aisle if you didn't have a father.
Arcee would help you with your hair and Miko would help with your makeup. Arcee Wouldn't mind it as she knows that you're smart enough about who you marry. She is also your second opinion on your dress and what would match you and what wouldn't.
Bumblebee was beyond happy for you as you were one of his close friends. he would also help Megatron pick flowers for you because he knows what flowers you don't or do like. it would take a while for him to warmed up to the fact that you are married to THE Megatron himself but it does roll around to him at some point
Bulkhead honestly came there for the food and to hang out with you. he isn't big on weddings and all that but if it's one of his friends he will go so they know that he cares.
Wheeljack is there fully prepared to give you the strongest bear hug to you as he congratulates you. he mostly hangs around you and bulkhead but he does go to others and talk with them for a while, especially if he hasn't seen them for a while
Smokescreen is just as happy as bumblebee that you have finally found the love of your life, even if it might not be the best one in the universe. he does Megatron like how bumblebee does and suggests what flowers or just how to act on the day of the wedding. (he also promises that if he hurts you that he will punch his lights out)
Ultra Magnus doesn't think much of it. but as long as you are happy and not in despair, it's okay in his book. he will make sure that no one will get shit-face drunk so everyone has a good time.
Starscream was forced to come so he will grumble a bit and sit by himself as he rants to himself but he will open up a bit as the wedding goes on. he will give a compliment or two on how nice you look in your dress just so he doesn't get dragged out of his shell to say something.
Knockout is more than happy for you finally marry what's yours. Knockout will help you with your makeup and hair and also helps with your dress as he knows a bit about fashion. He is a good advice man and jokes about how much he helped with your dress.
Breakdown is the happy dad in the friend in the group as you marry Megatron. He comes with knockout and has a nice time with the rest of the bots, and for once he gets along with Bulkhead. he will also cry a bit from how proud he is of you
You can't see it but Soundwave is more proud of you than what proud even means. he does say this through little emojis through his visor on his holoform. He is an introvert so he does hang around you and Megatron like a little lost puppy.
Airachnid is happy for you but doesn't show it as she is too busy trying to not fight Arcee. But you do eventually keep her away from Arcee to the point where there is no fight
Predaking is happy for you just as much as everyone else is. He 100% supports and is there if you ever need help. He also helps Megatron with what to give you and how to treat you like a proper wife
