I have talked about the great Jerry Goldsmith many times but here’s something I didn’t discuss yet: he was able to mix the synthesiser with the “old-fashioned” orchestra in such a way that you can’t distinguish the two.
He did that very successfully in this score, “Sleeping with the Enemy”, and in the Sharon Stone movie “Basic Instinct”, that other thriller from the early nineties.
I’m betting that most people who listen to the music simply don’t notice the role of the synthesisers. That’s because he succeeded in creating a warm electronic sound.
Quite a feat when you consider how cold electronic music can be. (The booklet speaks of “adroit electronics”.)
This is another expanded collector’s item published by La-la Land Records.

I just watched Sleeping with the Enemy for the first time and it was really so good. Especially for a 90s film on domestic violence. But there was a Bollywood remake with Juhi Chawla that I’ve watched several times before this, so I knew exactly what would happen pretty much 😅

"Within Regulus, there was a force of nature so powerful that it was scary. James had seen it, he swear he saw it. In the grains of his smile, the rivulets of his expressions, the way his eyes and pupils changed depending on who he looked at, who he spoke to. How he was soft despite himself. How inside him, there was pure, blinding light, one James needed, feverously, to soak into.
His heart beats a little faster, at the thought, and he suppresses a smile, trying to get a hold of himself. He got like this, sometimes. James knows himself. He's a loyal, loving person. And he is so, stupidly kind. Even if his desires aren't."
THIS IS CRAZY. when i tell you ive been thinking about this paragraph since i read it. i noticed everybody hypes up your regulus, but my god, what about your james? unlike the other interpretations, he actually has a backbone and boundaries. i love it!
not an ask, but something i wanted to say!
AAAAAH thank you love ! this is so so kind of you to say, all the love in the world <3

I loved your sleeping with the enemy FanFiction and just recently reread it, would you ever consider making a 4th part to it or is it finished?
Either way love your writing it’s amazing!!
You know, I actually started rereading the first 3, myself, last night, looking for motivation to write!
I do have the basic outline of the 4th (and I think final) chapter.
Since I published the first parts, I had a kid and postpartum depression and a pandemic and lost All Of My Free Time and Motivation, so… 🥲
Believe me, I want to finish that story. And I want to do it well. And hopefully, I’ll get to do it, someday.
(It really means a lot that people are still reading and enjoying it! Thank you much for the message!!!)
