"Kwami's Choice", S5, and Kagami

Kitty Noir's identity has no single meaning for anything that happens in S5. As such, Plagg's new holder could've been anyone, and it should've been Kagami.

Not because it being Kagami would've changed much as such, but because it is only after "Kwami's Choice" that Kagami becomes a character relevant to the plot, thanks to her

A) discovering Ladybug's identity, and

B) becoming Felix' ally and the only reason LB and CN didn't shake him down for the peacock miraculous and Hawkmoth's identity but instead took him on as a member of the hero team

Kagami ultimately isn't particularly important to S5; since it turns out that it's totally cool to be a sentimonster after all, Felix' story purpose boils down to a thematic red herring cum cool exposition device. Kagami herself being a sentimonster consequently changes nothing to her conditions, and so her part in the story ends up being the excuse for Felix putting on the play for Marinette rather than Ladybug.

Kagami being Kitty Noir wouldn't have given her a lot of story weight, but it'd at least serve to foreshadow her place as one of the secondary characters on stage in the latter half of S5.

Not to mention, it would've spared us the green lipstick.

... I use writing as my coping mechanism. I write out whatever I'm feeling at the time and try to explore those feelings as much as possible, and after I've written a first pass, I can write around in the arc depending on what that current feeling is.

And... I've rarely gotten writers block. I've gotten anxiety and have despised my writing, yes, but I do not find a loss of words that often.

~Giving the writing a purpose for yourself (ie - comfort) makes it easier to not people please and have fun with it.

And if you are using writing as a coping mechanism, if you find that you cannot write forward, feel free to go back to a previous part that you can expand on with the feelings you are feeling now.

This may not work for everyone! But using writing as a coping mechanism has helped me write along with getting me through the lowest lows of my life.

(Just make sure to have a 'write whatever low energy' project, because coping mechanism projects tend to be very personal and at times draining. Poetry, another form of art, short stories, or a nonsense story works for this)

guillermo del toro’s pinocchio is a beautiful film but my god no one has adapted that story like neverafter. you can never look at it the same way again after listening to lou wilson, a black man, explaining that he chose to play as pinocchio because it’s a story about a little boy who isn’t allowed to make mistakes. that in pinocchio's story, he is fundamentally barred from childhood at once upon a time. he must earn something that everyone else is granted from birth. the other boys get to tell lies and play and get into trouble, but when pinocchio does the same thing there are grave and violent consequences. his pinocchio is trying to understand why the world is so unfair, why the rules are so different for him, why everyone else gets to be a real boy.

and I think about it every day.

talking to preschoolers is awesome bc they have not fully differentiated stories into 'true stories' and 'imaginary stories' yet so you will tell them about something that happened you once (coyote came out of a bush right in front of you and got startled) and they will tell you about how one time their house was full of coyotes in every room 'including five in the garage' and they're not even like, aware i think of the idea that they are technically 'lying'. they are simply telling stories about coyotes bc its time to tell stories about coyotes.

#like ppl will be like 'kids love to lie' but i think whats going on is the human inclination to storytell. which is pointedly different imo #and like to be clear im not saying they dont know there weren't actually coyotes in their house #its just that like. they don't know why it would matter
