Some thoughts

I've been thinking on and off about this fandom, or more accurately, shipping within fandoms. It just feels weird with all this anti/pro stuff

it's just nuts I used to be a part of the RWBY fandom and my favorite ship was fallen petals Cinder/Ruby and now when I see stuff like the response to this tweet.

(not calling it X fuck off Elon) It's wild when I was younger if you didn't like a ship you just ignored it, of course there were crazies, but now it's like everyone is crazy. I know it's just those people are louder (BTW if you don't like a ship that's fine like N X J I get it) it's just strange. I think the main reason I haven't fallen down the Anti well is one I'm an adult, and two I don't view ships as seriously as others seem to. (THIS IS NOT AN ACCUSATION TOWARD ANY INDIVIDUAL) I tend to view ships as was to see how characters would react, for example I have on my Ao3 account started writing a Tessa/Cyn, and it's a smut fic. And it's meant to explore how a twenty-year-old woman who has been told anything sexual is bad beside procreation and even that pushing it, and how would she react when being let off the metaphorical leash so to speak. How would she explore it? If you just want a smut fic that's fine, of course, and I do have enough awareness to realize that my writing are half decent at best. I'm not trying to take myself too seriously, this just me rambling, if you want to take anything away from this the best I can pull from this is 1 ship and let ship 2 don't take ships so seriously. And three, if you don't like something that's completely fine, just don't threaten people about it.

It’s funny how people call ENFPxINTJ or ENTPxINFJ “golden pair” while in reality…they’re not. For example, ENTPxINFJ. Their dominant functions, Ni & Ne, and their inferior functions, Se & Si balance each other out, while conflicts start to occur when their aux and tert (parent and child) meet. ENTP’s Ti parent may find Ti child’s usage of logic childish while Ti child deems that Ti parent is way too irresponsible (aux and inf can shut down easily because using them decreases one’s stamina and stresses the user out , while using dom and tert continuously won’t draw off their strength). However, these conflicts can help sharpen their abilities: Ti -> to use logic, to value truth and Fe -> to notice others’ emotional state, one another’s ethics, ect. Therefore, the right term for these couplings are “pedagogue”. Golden pairs are duo whose function stacks balance and complement each other out: ENFP (Ne Fi Te Si) x INFJ (Ni Fe Ti Se).

I had a thought and I can no longer contain it

So Eira has two different pronunciations, right? A lot of people say it like ‘i-rah,’ as in the letter ‘i’ with a ‘rah’ attached to it. I’ve also seen it pronounced ‘ay-rah,’ like how you’d say ‘ayyy!’ but shorter and with a ‘rah.’ From what I know, ‘ay-rah’ is the more…traditional way to say it? I dunno, I read the forums in Behind the Name a long while ago and what’s traditional isn’t the point of this post anyways

My POINT is that ABD, when talking about Eira’s backstory, showed Eira’s father, who is named Eilian. Now this is all well and good, but it gets even better when you realize that if you pronounce Eira like ‘ay-rah,’ then logically you must pronounce Eilian like ‘ay-lien.’ Or, as I would gleefully like to spell it, ‘alien’

Can I play devils advocate in favour of dating apps for just a second here to remind everyone that the notion of spontaneously finding the love of your life by accident—while by no means an anomaly—is still kind of relatively recent phenomena historically and moreover is blown out of proportion in the over-romanticized heavily marketed modern notion of courtship in the media. While the increasing commercialisation of love and courtship is worrying (not to mention how much of our data they steal ever since dating could be virtually recorded into a computer 🤡), courtship and marriage has been rigidly governed by ritual, performance, and clinical contracts for centuries from arranged marriages to the highly supervised courtship of pre industrial Europe and America to the exchanges between small tribes or colonies which all had a very strong and overt economic and transactional nature… so like… dating apps have more of a precedent than some people lead themselves to think
