Huh. I just realized I haven't said much about my steampunk fanseason/AU thingie! Which is weird, considering I've been working on it for over 6 months at this point. Well, time to remedy that!
Title: City of Gears
Premise: The ninja are asked to investigate a series of disappearances in the quaint tourist town of Yama. Eventually their investigation uncovers the nefarious schemes of Lady Adelaide, a woman who is using a mysterious power to change peoples' shapes at will. So far she's been turning people into an army of wooden mannequin slaves, and intends to do the same to the ninja - but thanks to the intervention of her henchman "Lefty", Zane is instead turned human!
So now Zane has to adjust to being human and all the drama that comes with that, with each of his friends dealing with traumatic situations of their own, all while trying to stop Lady Adelaide from turning everyone in the world into mannequins.
There's a lot more to it than that, but I won't bore you with the details. Instead, here's a drawing I made for it!
Tumblr media
My art is a bit rough around the edges so I'll try to explain what you're looking at real quick. In the main box is Zane, who has a mysterious gold scar running down his now-human face, with "Lefty" peeking out from around his shoulder and Lady Adelaide standing off to the side. She's holding a strange glowing lantern staff, with its glow spiraling ominously around Zane.
The top and bottom boxes each have three gears, with each gear containing the face of a different ninja. On the top row from left to right is Lloyd, Cole (a ghost), and Nya. On the bottom row is Pixal, Kai (some kind of fire monster), and Jay.
My goal with this story is to give each character their own subplot even though it's Zane-centric, and each of the gears has little clues to how their arc will play out. Such as - Lloyd's Oni horn, Cole being a ghost, Nya's intensity, Pixal's sword, Kai's uhhh fire body???, and Jay's goggles.
And as for why their gis look so bland....look I'm not very good at this cut me some slack, that was the best I could do.
That being said, my bestie @oracleofdiscord made some absolutely phenomenal art of the villain, Lady Adelaide, which you can check out here!

In an alternate universe (MC2 reality) where Mayday Parker (a.k.a Spider-Girl) comes from, Speedball used to be in Avengers which used to consist of teenage superheroes who had grown up. Some time later, Speedball left the group and became a solo hero pursuing his career as a crimefighter on his own.
Note that this alternate reality was written before the trend of more teenage superheroes like Young Avengers, Avengers Academy, the X-Students, Champions or Kamala Khan started popping up in comics.

365 Marvel Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
March 26th - J2
Zane Yama heralds from Earth 982, a parallel reality similar to the main Marvel Universe.  In this universe, The Juggernaut reformed from villainy and became a heroic member of The X-Men, disappearing with the rest of the X-Men and leaving behind a young son named Zane.
When Zane was harassed by a school bully he discovered that he had inherited the powers of his father, enabling him to transform into an enormous, unstoppable version of himself, complete with a set of impenetrable armor reminiscent of that worn by the original Juggernaut.   It was through an act of will that Zane could transform himself back and forth from his original form to that of a muscular giant into possessing super-strength and greatly heightened endurance. A constant trademark of his costume was his father's flannel shirt tied around his waist.
Calling himself J2, Zane was offered membership to the group called A-Next, a team of young heroes composed of the children of The Avengers.  J2 was also offered membership to the Uncanny X-People, a team of Mutant heroes led by an older Jubilee; although Zane turned them down to remain with A-Next.
J2 later learned of the reason behind his father's disappearance from Cyclops, leader of the X-Men. Juggernaut was being held prisoner by a villain called Nemesis in an alternate dimension. Thanks to the Sorcerer Supreme, Doc Magus, J2 was able to locate his father and then rescue him.  Later announcing his retirement, Juggernaut was content to let J2 to carry on his legacy, having proven himself worthy of the powers he wielded.
J2 first appeared in the pages of What If? Vol. 1 #105 (1989).

Touhou!Zane Headcanons
- Early years in Gensokyo, he uses "boku" as his I/me pronoun. After he got his memory back, he alternates between "watashi" and "watakushi". Much later in his life (probably when he hits 900 years old), he switches to a more sophisticated "warawa".
- His you pronoun alternates between "anata" and "sonata".
- Koichi (Touhou!Cole) teases him a lot when he starts using "warawa", as it is - in his words - reserved for old hags.
- Zane spoils Chen more than Ran does to her.
- His favorite food is kusaya jam. He often makes alot, enough to annoy the entire Yakumo household due to its smell.
- During his early days, he often pass out when he's tasked by Yukari to utilize his boundary ability with tasks he's not yet able to master.
- After gaining his memory back, he often plants white higanbana (or the normal red one should he unable to find the white one) near the Yakumo residence every year to cope with his passing in Ninjago. Sometimes, he'll let it float off on Sanzu river instead (which usually got him in trouble with the yama Shiki Eiki). This event is usually called as "Day of White Higanbana" by people around him.
- Zane buys LEGO sets every time he goes out to the Outside World, provided his allowence is sufficing. Ironically, he's often a victim to the "step on a lego" trope.
- His current body was made by the kappas based on Dr. Julien's bluprint of him. Somewhere on his machine, a line "Made by Kappas" is engraved.
- Zane adopts the entirety of Makai residents once he dates Shinki (yes, Alice included).
- Zane found Echo when he decided to revisit his father's lighthouse. Initially planning to take him with him to Gensokyo, he eventually decides to leave him on the lighthouse after Yukari rejected the rusted nindroid in her household. He tries to visit his brother as often as he can after that.
- Zane's voice is rather soft compared to his titanium counterpart yet still sounds mature enough compared to Echo's.
