"A man is washed clean with a glass of water, but the entire sea can't clean a woman."
—Albanian Proverb.
Meaning: Men are easily forgiven for the same mistakes with a small gesture, while women face ongoing judgment, revealing unfair expectations based on gender. This proverb shines a light on sexism within a culture, illustrating unequal forgiveness based on gender and emphasizing the need for awareness and change.

Emerie, the Illyrian Conflicts, and her Future as a Leader
My theory for future books (likely within the novella itself) is that Emerie may replace Devlon, as well as manage the Illyrian conflicts (and the misogynistic issues surrounding them) and bring them into a new era.
I won't go into much detail about why the recent theories of Azriel solving the Illyrian conflicts don't make any sense. ⬇️
Many of the issues surrounding the conflicts are feminist issues. It would make sense for this to be Emerie's purpose, especially if we continue with female led storylines. I also want to be clear that I don't see this as a Valkyrie-inclusive storyline - the other women in this group are not Illyrian and it is not part of their journey. Emerie was the first woman to win the sacred Blood Rite, even when she was disabled as a result of Illyrian tradition and misogyny, owns property when women in the village do not, and has been progressively working against backwards tradition her entire life. I also can't see Koschei just...waiting around for 800 pages while this occurs. Killing him is similar to Voldemort - you kill his soul and then him. It wouldn't make sense for the Valkyries to conquer the third mountain and then let Azriel have an OOC eat/pray/love moment with the Illyrians; it's almost as if Eris points out that there are three sister peaks, lists the sisters that have conquered two already, and tells the reader directly what's next for a reason.
Side Note: I would love for this to happen in a Mor novella, especially since there are so many strong parallels about these two women who both grew up in harsh environments (Hewn City and Illyria) and managed to become elite and powerful.
Emerie shares many similarities with Queen Teuta. ⬇️
Tumblr media
The Illyrians in history reached their peak of power under Queen Teuta.
"Illyrian Queen Teuta is one of the most extraordinary figures of Illyrian antiquity and of Albanian heritage. She was also called the pirate queen, and folklore says that she was wiser than a snake, braver than a line, and more beautiful than fairies."
Emerie - meaning: home strength; brave, powerful
Queen Teuta ruled for three years and "managed to strengthen and consolidate her power, and made powerful allies. She stimulated the economy, promoted the development of Illyrian cities, strengthened the army, and created her own navy." She was known as Queen of the Seas.
In ACOFAS, we learn that Emerie is the daughter of Proteus. Proteus, in Greek mythology, is a sea god.
According to folklore, the queen ended her life by throwing herself off the Orjen peak. This mountain peak lies close to the base of the Illyrian fleet, which is known as modern Risan. Sound familiar?
The Orjen mountain is described as inaccessible limestone cliffs, protecting the settlement below.
Ramiel, on the other hand... "None were permitted on its barren, rocky slopes - save for the Illyrians." (ACOFAS)
Unfortunately, a lot of the biographical details of this queen are skewed, likely due to misogynist reasons.
Tumblr media
In ACOFAS, we begin to explore the Illyrian conflicts, meet Emerie, and we see Rhys question who would even replace Devlon.
"I resented the male...It was his absurd ideas about females that made me want to throttle him. But if he had to be replaced, the Mother knew who would take his position."
We already see Emerie begin to embody some of the strengths that Queen Teuta had. And we see both women greatly affected by misogyny around them. However, the queen's legacy serves as a reminder of when the Illyrian fleet was at its most powerful.
Instead of a mountain leading to a tragic end, it can easily be a beginning.
Emerie has become a Carynthian, an elite warrior, and was the first woman to do so. Besides the IC, only three men have reached the peak before her.
Emerie is already actively at the forefront of change - she is fighting against misogynistic ideals and proving herself to be a fierce leader and warrior. I think that her story is just the beginning and she has so much to offer.

Hey there. I guess I need help with my chronivac. In my neighborhood there are more and more Arabic and Turkish men. It doesn't bother me that they are Arabic or Turkish or whatever. But they all look so extremely good - nice hair, nice beard, nice tan, nice bulges, extremely self confident... and I'm starting to get a little jealous, cause I'm a chubby, shy, white German (Alman).
Now the real Problem - the chronivac basic settings can't help me and the chronivac pro settings are way too complicated for me. So I hope you can help and change me to become less jealous in my neighborhood.
Okay, let's see how chronivac pro premium support can help you.
On your way to the subway in the morning, you usually grab a coffee to go at the kiosk in your ecologically sustainable reusable mug and buy a Süddeutsche Zeitung. But this morning you forgot your mug. So you order a Turkish mocha, which you drink directly at one of the bar tables. You also get a sesame seed curl and the BILD newspaper. For the first time, you talk to the owner of the kiosk. You've been a customer here for years. You take a second mocha and buy a pack of cigarettes. Fuck, then you're in the office half an hour later. Who cares?
You don't give a shit that smoking is not allowed on the platform. You blow your smoke onto the platform out of the subway and just throw the cigarette out onto the floor, while the doors are closing. And you snot right after it.
The work in the office pisses you off today. Boring chatter, unproductive meetings. During the lunch break, your colleagues are talking about Turkey's role in the Ukraine conflict. When you say that Erdogan is a great leader and that you would like to see more statesmen like him, everyone stares at you in disbelief. Fuck, that's right. Most heads of state are effeminate losers! We need more men who can thump their fists on the table. Like Erdogan and Putin.
You're glad when you can finally call it a day. You need a reward. Just normal people around you. You allow yourself a visit to the new barber store on your street. On the street in front of it a group of young men smoking. You have to wait only one cigarette length for a free appointment. You let one of the guys give you a light and smoke a cigarette with them. And then you sit down in the barber's chair. Can is an artist. You love the way he shapes your beard, makes your skull look more angular with the undercut, and trims your sprawling eyebrows. And he makes a damn good mocha.
When Can takes away the hairstyling cape, you're more than satisfied. Yes, to your brothers here, you're just an infidel. But you fit in quite well visually. Sure, most bros are better worked out than you. But you don't have to hide. It's just that you are so pale that annoys you. That's why you go directly before training on the tanning bed in the gym after the haircut . And so that the sweating is really worth it, after pumping up to the sauna. Hammam would be better, but there is no such thing in your discount gym.
Tumblr media
It doesn't show that you are not a Turk or an Arab. And since you speak fluent Turkish, Arabic and Albanian, no one in the sauna would suspect that you have a German passport. Infidel! No matter what they think of you. The main thing is that nothing can separate you and your brothers!

I was very pleased with my English 1820s man. I made sure he had enrichment of a scholarly nature, to balance out the Romantic tendencies they have. He took to studying classical history and language, and I confess I was proud to have such an intelligent 19th century man. More recently he took an interest in current affairs but, as he is quite young, I assumed this was a sign of maturing. Then, just like that, he ran away! I went out searching and a neighbour informed me that he'd gone to Greece to fight against the Ottomans! I was horrified and went straight there, but I found him with a pack of Greek 1820s men and he adamantly refused to come home. What should I do? I worry that he will get hurt fighting, or that his constitution will not survive rough living in the Greek mountains. But he's having such a good time. He is learning the modern iteration of Greek (such a clever man), enjoys the local cuisine, and even wants to dress like his new friends. Is he in great danger if I let him stay, and how could I take him home without breaking his heart? (I don't want to risk any of those Greek 1820s men getting angry either, if I take their lucky mascot away.) Many thanks for your advice!
Romanticism and nationalism make for a very potent combination, as you have learned by now, and for many 19th century men of a certain social class and level of education, the attraction of the Classical world adds another layer of mythical folklore; not to mention the allure of pagan ceremony and skimpy neoclassical clothes.
For 1820s-1830s men, the Byronic appeal of exotic "Eastern" nations can be irresistible, and in general you will find a lot of national myth-making and interest in folk costumes.
Tumblr media
Lord Byron in Albanian dress, 1813. This man is not Albanian!
You also have to be aware of your 19th century man's possibly very different ideas of national and imperial boundaries. He learns the polka in Bohemia, he wants to fight the Ottomans, he wants to fight in the Miguelite war—he might support Romantic German nationalism! It's not always the national and cultural understandings of the 21st century.
Being British is also not a guarantee of sensible behaviour. You might think that your British naval officer is going to rest on his laurels after the Napoleonic Wars, and the next thing you know, he's leading a fleet in the Chilean Independence movement!
Tumblr media
Thomas Cochrane, naval officer for hire.
19th century men are not for the faint of heart. It can be challenging to balance their Romantic desires with a sensible course of action. Since your man has already spent so much time with his new Greek friends and has embraced their lifestyle, you could suggest that it's important that he document his experiences in a travel narrative that will also champion their cause.
As much as possible, you want to convince him that he's very valuable as a writer and/or visual artist giving voice to a cause—too valuable to foolishly risk his life or ruin his health abroad.

Donald Duck and his family mourn the dead in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack and bombing - Donald Duck and his family in Moscow (Russia) and Belgrade (Serbia) - Duck comics - Duckverse
Unfortunately, sorry for the long wait, because I was sick for a few weeks, and I'm recovering a bit now, so I haven't had a chance to draw and post new drawings. Yes, I'm back and will post follow-up drawings related to the previous holidays that were marked as well as the following holidays in the coming period.
Unfortunately, due to the recent events, I am publishing my sad drawings where Donald Duck and his family mourn the deceased. The first drawing shows Donald Duck with Daisy Duck, along with his nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck who went to Moscow (the capital of Russia) and where they are mourning the dead and honoring the departed since a week ago (22.3. 2024) a terrorist attack took place in Moscow, in the Crocus City Hall, where over 140 people were killed and over 360 wounded. More could have been killed, if not for a few young men (Muslims and Russians) who saved the other people and took them out of the concert hall, because a concert by a Russian music group was about to take place. Among the dead were not only Russians, but also members of other nationalities who wanted to see that concert. The perpetrators are alleged Muslim terrorists from the Islamic State, and all of them were later caught. I don't want to go further into the discussion about the main principal who financed these terrorists, nor do I want to go into the discussion about the current war in Ukraine, because my blog is not about politics and please don't ask me those questions. This just shows my respect for the deceased not only the victims of that terrorist attack but also all the victims who died in terrorist attacks in the last more than 24 years. It is certainly a terrible event, which is why two days of mourning were declared after that, and I drew the Russian flag at half-mast, because on the day of mourning, the flag is only flown at half-mast, and Daisy in that drawing is wearing a coat and a black bow as a sign of mourning and black clothes are usually worn at funerals. Behind them, you can see the Basilica of St. Basil as well as the Spasskaya Tower, which is located within the Kremlin. Rest in peace to those victims.
Покойтесь с миром жертвы теракта! Слава им! Аминь.
The second drawing shows Donald with his family who are in Belgrade (the capital of Serbia) where they are mourning those who died and died during the bombing by NATO in 1999, as well as the victims in Kosovo and Metohija in 2004. I said that I come from Serbia and what happened 25 years ago was something that many residents of my country cannot forget. I was two years old when it started, so I don't remember it, except from the story of my parents. I don't want to go further into the discussion about the beginning of the war because the topic is too painful, and I doubt that many would understand what I would say. All in all, civilians did not deserve such a thing and it is very difficult to get over such wounds. Because among the dead there were also children who suffered from NATO bombing. There was also the courage of the soldiers who defended the country from the attackers and died bravely defending their country, so they are also honored. In addition to Donald, there are also Daisy Duck, Grandma Duck (Elvira Coot), Scrooge McDuck, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck (Donald's nephews), April, May and June Duck (Daisy's nieces) where they pay tribute to those who died in that war as well as in the violence in Kosovo and Metohija that occurred in 2004, when there was also a mass exodus of Serbs, Roma, Bosniaks and other non-Albanian people from Kosovo and Metohija and the demolition of numerous Orthodox monasteries and churches by Albanian fanatics. Behind them is the Church of St. Sava, one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world, as well as the Beogradanka building, where one of Belgrade's television stations is located. On that grave is written the dedication to those victims as well as the flowers brought to that grave.
Rest in peace to those victims! Amen.
Вечна слава настрадалима и нека почивају у миру! Амин.
Also, since tomorrow is Good Friday, the day of the martyrdom of Jesus Christ, which is a sad day for Christians.
These are my tribute to those victims as well as those who suffered, and that the victims should not be forgotten and history should not be forgotten, because if it is forgotten, it will repeat itself again. Feel free to share this, but please do not use this for other people's purposes and please do not complicate it with political issues, because this blog is not dedicated to that. May God welcome the victims into the Kingdom of God and may they receive eternal glory! Rest in peace! Amen.

Bajazid Elmaz Doda (left) and Franz Nopcsa (right).
Bajazid and Franz met in Bucharest in 1906. Bajazid was a young man who had left his Albanian village looking for work. Franz was an aristocratic palaeontologist and ethnographer with an interest in Albania. The two men became lovers, and spent the next 27 years together, travelling Albania and then settling in Austria. Bajazid wrote his own ethnographic work, recording the culture of Upper Reka Valley where he had grown up, and his fears for its destruction in WWI. His village, Stirovica, was razed by the Bulgarian army in 1916.
Sadly, suffering from depression, on 25 April 1933, Franz shot Bajazid, and then himself, killing both men.
