every day at 9pm when the polls end i get to go onto my spreadsheet & get out my calculator and add all the percentages and approximate votes and i get to highlight things and work out averages its like the highlight of my day that i spend the whole day looking forward to . like i literally will be repeatedly checking the time over and over so i can do math. i think i was probably not the best candidate for the admin of a coolness contest

Sos I cannot choose
Other subjects are French, Geography and Art.
Pros of chem:
could do geology at uni (still unsure tho)
rlly interesting and has crossovers with geography
more beneficial (than English) in the long run
I find it easier (than English) to revise which will come in handy once we get to exams
Pros of eng lit&lang:
Really like literature and the texts we’re gonna study are great (the colour purple <3)
find it easier (than chemistry) to learn
If you did then thanks for voting!

Ok so in an attempt to regain some sense of chill-ness, here's my results day plan: get the 9:11 train to arrive in school for 9:40, open results on my own, text my dad, talk to my Greek teacher who was the only reason I got through the Greek exams anyway, leave school feeling light and free (hopefully), get a bagel at the train station, pick up my glasses from the opticians, come home to read he who drowned the world, maybe see my friends for an hour at the park, fall asleep after finally being over with stress

21/07/2023 | Acrylic paint | A3
09/07/2023 | Ink, acrylic paint, pencil A4
The first piece is a made up mythic animal, this piece being from my personal investigation in Alevel art. The piece is an experiment with texture and colour created with acrylic centred around the theme 'Fantasy'.
The second piece is also a made up creature, which uses pencil, ink and acrylic.

daily update: 25.10.2023
Worked on A2 Biology the whole day today, did two past papers and went through Genetic Technology mostly because that is so information based T-T
It was a bit tough to focus today so I put on a few study-with-me videos of Yoora Jung, she's one of my favourite study youtubers that my sister recommended to me.

17/09/2023
ahhhh after two days of open days i had to catch up on so much work.
luckily i slept ten hours and stayed in bed for even longer so my energy was rejuvenated but that just meant i spent like all afternoon working.
i did english, which was chill, just analysing a poem and stuff.
but then further maths took 2 HOURS to catch up on because the one day i’m not in my teacher decided to teach like 5 algorithms. and maths also took ages because my teacher set so many practice questions, luckily the content itself was pretty easy though.
my first german lesson (not alevel, it’s outside of school) starts tomorrow, which means i’ll be out from 7am until 9pm. send help.

further advice:
you are a student before anything else: schedule social outings and extra curriculars around your studies, not the other way around.
always have an ongoing to-do list; don't let it get empty: it might seem overwhelming at first, but you'll come to realise that there is always something you can be doing towards your grades.
use the specification and teaching documents from the exam board! stem subjects especially have a plethora of online documents detailing exactly what you need to know, whether it be content, maths skills and formulae, vocabulary or exam technique. print them off and go through as many as you can find!
perhaps don't bother with the EPQ: if the entry requirements of the university course you're aiming for cannot be lowered by the EPQ, it might be better to spend your time focusing on your courses, as many find that the EPQ takes just as much time as another subject.
ask for 1-to-1 sessions: if there's a topic you're struggling with, mention it to your teachers and be willing to sacrifice your free time (lunches, free periods, after schools etc.) to run through it with them 1-to-1.
fight for teachers that meet your needs: if you have a teacher who isn't helping you to excel and whose teaching methods possibly aren't the strongest, bring it up to your institution's director. it's their job to make sure that you're recieving the best standard of education possible.
talk to your tutors and teachers about your workload if it's becoming overwhelming at all.
evaluate your priorities, study methods and organisation system after each half-term.
complete your university research and application (including your reading for and writing your personal statement) before year 13 starts: it will save you so much time, as many feel that the UCAS process is like picking up another subject as well.
start preparing for university admissions exams over the summer, before year 13: UCAS gives a run down on which courses require admissions tests, here.
