i usually answer Muse as a shorthand bc that explains a lot about me 😅 favourite song very hard to say, but i'll nominate space dementia bc it's very striking

but i honestly listen to a ton of stuff. i grew up as a pop girlie with britney (massive fan), madonna, kylie minogue, was a very cultured indiegurl in my teens via arctic monkeys / franz ferdinand / the killers / kaiser chiefs / kasabian + a veritable britpop historian with how much blur, suede, pulp & oasis i injected in my veins. i could not have been an angsty millennial without placebo and my chemical romance, to which i know nearly every line like muscle memory. was obsessed with gwen stefani. i've listened religiously to lana del rey, florence + the machine and marina & the diamonds since their debut. girls aloud & little mix.

in recent years i've listened to a frenetic amount of anitta, maluma, j balvin, bad bunny and rosalia. i like my morning commute to pump me up. spotify is telling me that bichiyal has been my no 1 listened song for the last 2 years in a row & honestly that's valid.

last year i revisited the classic AM album and blasted it on repeat just like it was 2014. the beginning for R U Mine gets me every time.

today i had rammstein - ausländer on repeat

every once in a while i go back to sea shanties

i am a kanye west connoisseur (before the... you know). kids see ghosts was the last album i listened to. it felt weird not to include him, since there was a time in my life, when no matter how depressed i was, if i blasted some of his songs in my headphones i would ride it out somehow. speaking of which, ghost town is pretty aegon-coded ("i've been trying to make you love me, but everything i try just takes you further from me").

i remember commutting to school and feeling an intimate kind of euphoria while listening to the bends (that entire album actually). i remember it being so early it was pitch black and hearing whistle for the choir in the car. i was floored when i heard the version of somewhere only we know for the midnight mass trailer. demon days is still one of the best albums i've heard.

i inherited my penchant for modern talking from my dad. nothing beats geronimo's cadillac, man.
