haha, funny title. uhh, here's the Tumblr post for all my current vore snippets. Maybe like 3 per post or something. below the cut cause despite them supposedly being short they were not. Also added titles cause why not.

An Observant Hug:

The pred relaxed back as they felt their prey settle into their core. The prey shifting and getting settled sent amazing tingles up and down the pred's spine. They sigh happily as they pat their belly. Their friend hummed and looked up at the pred silently asking if they can feel it. The pred nodded and shifted, allowing the observer to come closer to the small rounded spot on their middle. The observer gently rubs over the warm skin and giggles a bit as they feel the prey shift. The pred smiles as the observer leans against their middle. They hug them close as the observer hugs the prey under their skin. They all smile as they do a big comfortable yet odd group hug. The pred feels so full of love and their prey friend and the prey knows they are surrounded by their friends.

Sleep Aid:

It was a late night. The pred had already gone to bed and you just couldn’t seem to sleep. So in your somewhat tired state, your brain thought maybe snuggling up close to the pred's face would help. You scramble onto their bed and approach their head. Noticing how soft and calm they are in their sleep. They shift a bit at your approach and you stiffen a bit before remembering that they would be understanding when you explain. You watch their eyes open slightly as they look somewhat through you. They yawn and pull you close you hug their cheek on reflex and chuckle. They take some deep inhales through their nose and you hear a familiar gurgle somewhere under their blankets. They mumble something and pull you closer to their now open mouth. You just roll your eyes as you're gently moved into their mouth. They happily and sleepily hum around your form. You lay on their tongue as it lazily moves you around. They swallow and you can feel their drowsiness seeping into you. You smile as you settle into their core, both of you first off happy and warm.

A Taste Giveaway:

The pred did their usual thing gently holding the prey close and nibbling along their arms to show how excited they are to share time with their prey. As they nibbled on their arm though, something was off. There was the usual mouthwatering meaty and salty flavor all prey had but instead of the light spice flavor they were used to, They tasted a heavy, salty, almost stale feeling along their tongue. An ebbing of sadness. The pred gently asks the prey what’s wrong and the prey starts to cry as the pred pulls them close. Cooing at them and letting the prey sob out their worries and sadness. Venting what needed to be said. Once everything was said and done the prey quietly thanks the pred for being so kind to them, for listening to their stupid problems. The pred shushes them and gently licks away their tears. Looking them in the eyes and silently asking for permission. The prey nodded. The pred ever so gently slips the prey into their mouth. The flavors danced along their tongue. Meaty, salty, and mildly spicy. Just as it should be. The pred swallows and smiles fondly as their belly is filled with their precious friend. They hug their belly close and hum, silently telling the prey everything is going to be alright.

alright so during into the spider-verse's introduction to peter b. parker, we see his wedding, and he stomps on the wine glass right? this is a jewish wedding tradition, which makes this version of peter parker jewish (further confirmed in interviews -- however, i believe this is enough by itself). it's a nice nod to the jewish roots of the character.

we get to see a bunch of peter parkers throughout the spider-verse films, and none of them have any explicit religious associations like peter b. parker. except for one!

here we have gwen stacy's peter parker and aunt may, from earth-65, saying grace over a meal. from my understanding, this is generally a christian practice -- in judaism, we prefer to say short prayers before eating, and save the long, in-depth ones for afterwards. so to me, this was a clear example of the character being coded as christian. i was a little disappointed that they didn't make peter parker jewish here too, but since across the spider-verse discusses variants and the differences between instances of the same person between different universes, i interpreted this as a continued commentary on peter parker's ethnicity -- although he was initially jewish-coded and one of his two creators, stan lee, is jewish, this is often erased, especially in more modern interpretations of the character.

and then i remembered that this peter parker also literally turns into the lizard.

They do! I’d say most species of animals sloughs off “old” parts of their bodies at some point of their lives in some capacity. The word “molting” is used as a catch-all term for this process, although exactly what body part they shed and how they do it varies from animal to animal. Arthropods grow an entire new exoskeleton and shed the old one, but for most other animals, this process only involves shedding the outermost layer of their bodies, the pelage and/or their first layer of skin. Reptiles are quite famous for this because they sometimes manage to come out of their old skins and leave them almost fully intact as if they were kigurumi pajamas:

Mammals tend to mostly only shed fur or hair, growing thicker fur during colder months and losing it in favor of shorter fur during warmer months. How obvious this is depends on the climate, though. It’s quite perceptible in mammals that live in the arctic whose fur changes color depending on the season:

But even the difference between the summer coats and winter coats of domestic dogs can be palpable if you live in places with colder climates!

(I’m quite fascinated by this because I was born and raised in a tropical country and my dogs look the same all year round heh)

But back to the seals. Pinnipeds don’t really use their fur to keep warm like other mammals do, but they still have it, and they have to shed their old coats and grow new ones accordingly, which they do once a year!

In elephant seals, this process is so sudden and so extreme it’s called catastrophic molting. They don’t only lose their fur, but also a layer of dead skin all at once and this forces them to stay on land for a full month without swimming (and therefore, without hunting and eating) until the process is fully done. Because molting requires redirecting blood flow towards the skin instead of to their vital organs as usual, if they swam in the cold waters they’re usually accustomed to while molting, they’d freeze!

Bonus fun fact: despite having lost their fur during the evolution process, cetaceans like whales and dolphins also go through a molting process where they lose a layer of dead skin, which they scrape off by rubbing against rocks and rolling on sand banks.

It’s been recently discovered (as of 2020!) that the reason whales migrate annually from arctic waters to tropical waters is the exact same reason elephant seals spend a month on land: to molt! It’s much easier for a whale to keep warm while shedding its skin in warm waters than it is in cold waters.
