The fact that the DC super-pets had thought-bubbles for their speech in old comics and are able to communicate with each other in other versions drives me kinda nuts about the issues where the writers take it “more seriously” or whatever and just draw animals. Just animals. Doing stuff. NOT TALKING TO EACH OTHER.

Why in the world would you not write the super-pets as being able to communicate with each other. I don’t get it.

Super Sons, Urban Legends, heck, Wayne Family Adentures gave them a team up and all we got was “moo” and “wraff” like what the fuck. It’s okay. You’re drawing pets who can clearly communicate with each other.

Give them speech bubbles with words and show us what they’re communicating to each other, that’s literally the entire fun of seeing superhero cats and dogs and cows. No, I don’t just want to see animals flying with capes. I also want to understand them.

I have no stake in most of it but I love digging around in fandom drama w my white gloves on (leave no trace). for example bc of opla people who never interacted w the fandom before are shipping zoro & luffy ……BUT they are not one of the main ship in the manga or anime, which I’m gathering is sanji x zoro. opla only watchers are surprised by this, and vice versa. there’s also the matter of headcanonning luffy as asexual, and the lack of nuance (and occasional invalidation) when discussing ace relationships. Do you think the Straw Hats get touch-starved?

I’ve been getting into One Piece recently and the thought of getting isikaied into the show has been making its rounds in my head. Thinking of what I would do if allowed onboard has become my newest pastime so ima ramble about it.

Ofc I would do manual work and help out with the ship's cosmetics, maybe take on a little bit of everyone else’s work if they let me, but overall, what would be my role? Then I started thinking about how broken everyone is and I thought- what if I just played support?

And then the angst came rushing in-

So this is how touch-starved the straw hats are (in my POV ofc)

Luffy

I don’t think Luffy is a touch person

I mean yes the dude likes hugs and shit but I don’t think he’d die without them.

To me, Luffy comes off as someone who likes gifts or words of affirmation above everything else

Probably cus I see this guy as an aro/ace icon but that's just me

Usopp

Mans is starving but he wouldn’t realize it until literally the moment he gets crumbs

I think it’s made worse by the fact he’s thinking about Kaya almost as much as he is living in the moment (if that makes any sense)

If I were to offer him a cuddle sesh I think he’d legit think about it for a bit before turning me down out of respect for Kaya

Wants but won’t give in

As of right now, this man is a fucking s l a v e to Nami so I think that the same principle for Usopp would follow to Sanji. The only difference being his reaction would be more vocal and immediate.

That is to say, he definitely struggles with physical touch. I’m sure of it. There is something deep inside this boy that struggles when it comes to self-worth. I can’t place it yet but I can see it-

Zoro

I think he’d call me a whore? Idk why. But my mind is telling me that this man doesn’t need physical touch. What he needs is physical therapy for over-exerting himself.

Fr tho, if Zoro ever got the notion that he wants some hugs or platonic cuddles, I think it would be a struggle to come to terms with that.

Very much “I haven’t wanted/ needed this before, so why do I crave this now?” From that, I’d think he’d internalize that struggle until it’s something he can’t war over anymore.

He’d eventually get over himself and ask for a hug or putting his head on my lap when no one else is around/ when everyone else is asleep except us.

Nami

You lie to yourself and strive in your own but I know that you will take anything you get girl

She’d only take side hugs if someone asked for a hug.

She doesn’t ask for one unless it’s after a life-or-death situation/something stressful. The same can be said for cuddles

I hope this bitch is pampered by someone she loves just as is not more than berries.

Honestly if it wasn't for the fact that he was a pervert, i'd put my money on Sanji but... i highly doubt that

So about Gold Watcher!Yuu, how would they get along with the other first-years? (Also I can imagine they always have this weird feeling of being watched. Contrary to popular belief it's not Rook this time but it's Ruggie.) Love your work!

Lol, Ruggie's gonna chip a bit of that gold off for some money.

Anyway, I think they'll get along quite well with the first-years. If they get past them being a statue and them having the ability to conjure a limitless amount of axe. And their Nightmare Mode.

Ace, Deuce and Grim are mostly curious about how Yuu came to be. How did they came to live? Did someone enchant them.

You can imagine the horror on their faces when Yuu tells them how Gold Watchers came to be.

Grim had a moment of realisation as to why Yuu's axes work on ghosts. They've died at one point, so they're technically count as a ghost too.

Ace once jokes that Yuu should sell a bit of their body for some money. Yuu just smiles and slowly raises their axe.

Deuce wonders how Yuu eats. Do they have stomach? Where did the food go?

Yuu never answers because they also don't know.

Jack and Yuu are... A bit awkward at first, but when Jack realises how fast they are he wants to race them.

Yuu is impressed, this is the first time a mortal could outrun them in their full speed.

Epel mistaken them as an actual statue when they were standing still on a podium. Tried to punch Yuu but ended up nearly breaking his knuckles.

Thinks Yuu is pretty manly after finding out they hunts as a hobby. Yuu used to hunt animals for food back then with their friends, so they know a lot about traps.

Although the information is a bit outdated since they came from the 18th century.

Yuu never tells anyone that they hunt humans. They fear they will be seen as a threat and be melted into coins.

Ortho and Yuu are automaton buddies. Items made in the image of a humanoid that are also alive.

First time they met prior to Chapter 6, Yuu could sense something lingering beside Ortho. After Ignihyde's Chapter is when they realise that it was the previous Ortho's soul.

They get along quite well due to shared experiences. They're both former humans who experienced death and came back due to a high-ranking person with ties to the world of the dead.

Sebek got jumpscared more than once by Yuu. He is now wary of statues.

One time, however, he saw Yuu posing as one of the statues and called them out. To which they congratulates Sebek for finding them before they scare him.

It become a game for them. Yuu scaring Sebek when he didn't notice them fast enough, and Sebek calling them out the moment he sees Yuu.

Lilia keep the score. Yuu currently ahead of Sebek by nine points.

Also, as for Yuu being watched, it was Rook who pointed it out.

Yuu could feel themself being watched via telepathy. But whenever they look at the direction it was felt they see nothing.

This is very weird for them because... They're a Gold Watcher, moving when people aren't looking is their job.

The roles are reversed and they don't like it.

It wasn't until Rook points out that Ruggie had been following them that they realise what happens.

Ruggie has problems with money. They're made of gold. Yuu doesn't know how to react properly so they went into Nightmare Mode and threw an axe at Ruggie's hiding spot.

Then they turn back and tells Ruggie to take it.

Leona wonders which bank Ruggie robbed when he sees the hyena buying tons of food, more than his allowance would let him.

I just binged the first four episodes of One Piece Live Action and ghthjhtn

They definitely made some changes to the plot there but I can't exactly comment on those until, y'know, I get done with the series and see what they want to do. But even with the changes the main plot points are the same and I will hand it to them that they do work to make the first arcs a bit more cohesive as opposed to the regular shonen flavor of unrelated early villains

You know the "Luffy would not say that" "Yes but Inaki would" thing? Fucking. Yes. Is that regular flavor Luffy? No. Is it fucking working? Hell yes

Zoro acts so cool but also like it stinks so much of overcompensating young adult. It might fool new watchers but it's such an act

Flashback preteen!Zoro is worth the whole fucking series aghjtgjthg that was exactly the kind of 12yo boy you find in a dojo (source: I did karate as a teen I have seen things)

Garp feels too serious tho. His accent is 12/10 but make my grandpa goofier. Also his presence at Roger's execution was A Choice and at first I was a bit miffed but like thinking about it a bit? Kinda makes sense? Like considering the deal he and Roger had about Ace I can accept Garp putting up a show to make himself, y'know, not look like someone who might hide the Pirate King's one and only son

Shanks and his crews look like such losers I LOVE IT

Unfortunately I just can't quite get to like Nami's actress. She's doing a great job it's not that she's bad it's just. Her face I think. She doesn't have the face I would envision for Nami and I can't put my finger on why. But I've also felt this way since I saw the first ads so

Anyways it's goofy, I'm liking it, there's things that can probably be improved a bit but I'm having fun and that's enough for me and like already way more than I expected from a Netflix anime live action

ANIMANGA: Daiya no Ace

Favorite Character: Sawamura Eijun

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: Act II, Episode 15: My Role (lost count of the number of times I've watched this episode tbh)

Character I Think is Underrated: Kariba Wataru (Kariba is the most dedicated catcher to Sawamura when he's suffering from yips. I even made a post for him because he's so underrated.)

Character I Think is Overrated: Miyuki Kazuya??? (Don't get me wrong, I love this character too but there are times when I hate him. lol.)

Favorite Ship/Pairing: I don't have ships for this series but I love the MuraMura battery. I also made lots of posts for this battery. I love how Okumura is so dedicated to Sawamura. There's a balance between the two where both look up to each other's strengths.

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: The main character is such an inspiration. I've been thinking that the author might hate his own main character (because of all the shit he put him through XD), but I guess this just added to the readers loving this character more.

ANIMANGA: Code Geass

Favorite Character: Lelouch

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: the ending (the most beautiful ending I've ever watched)

Character I Think is Underrated: Shirley Fenette (she could've done more for Lelouch had she been alive until the end)

Character I Think is Overrated: can't think of anyone honestly, maybe because it's been a while since I've watched this (literally more than a decade now XD)

Favorite Ship/Pairing: Lelouch and CC are a good combo, as a pair and not really a ship

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: I love how the series ended. Like everything made perfect sense after you've finished watching it. There are a lot of series that are so good but fail to deliver at the end, leaving the watchers/readers not very satisfied. This, however, despite how the ending went is absolutely perfect. Best ending ever imo.

ANIMANGA: Ao Ashi

Favorite Character: Aoi Ashito (curly hair, crazy, inspirational, kind, why wouldn't he be my favorite?? XD), I also love the coach but I got angry at him at some point in one of the manga arcs lol

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: I really love the Esperion vs Aomori Seiran Arc (manga only) and if we're talking about anime, it would be Episode 14: It's Just Soccer (the scene between Hana and Ashito). Since then, I started shipping those two. XD

Character I Think is Underrated: I can't think of anyone, I think the author wrote the characters really well (not just the main character and that's what I love about this series).

Character I Think is Overrated: same answer for underrated

Favorite Ship/Pairing: Ashito x Hana (one of my favourite OTPs), I usually don't ship characters in sports animanga but their relationship is just so beautiful that it actually contributes to the development of the main character

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: This is one of the sports anime that includes family as a big part of the story. And it was done so beautifully. Not only that, there's the added romance that's not annoying but instead would contribute greatly to the main character's improvement.

ANIMANGA: Sousou no Frieren

Favorite Character: I don't have a favorite, I love everyone (Frieren and her former and latter companions)

Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene: (manga only) Golden Land Arc and Goddess's Monument Arc, I would really love for these two arcs to be animated, as for the anime, that would be Episode 10: A Powerful Mage

Character I Think is Underrated: none

Character I Think is Overrated: none (the characters in this series are well written IMO)

Favorite Ship/Pairing: Frieren & Himmel, Fern & Stark (doesn't have to be romantic, I just love their antics when they're together)

Something I Love About the Show/Movie: I love how the past experiences of Frieren influence her current adventure. Her character development is slow but steady and I love how her actions are briefly explained through the past that she would remember each time.
