My favorite part about Bakugou sitting next to Kaminari at the sports festival isn't only the fact that there were literally a dozen other seats he could've chosen, but it's the fact that he still chose the seat right beside Kaminari when like the only interaction they had in the series up until that point was when Kami called Bakugou's whole ass personality shitty

Like, if one of them ended up in the hospital, if one gets kidnapped by villains, how they make their relationship work while being on call constantly? Wow I reLly love this pairing! I feel like I could go so much deeper with this but for the sake of time and not wanting to write a super long post…I’ll keep it short!!

Okay so Baku has a hard time focusing on multiple things at once in the sense that when he’s at work, he’s focused on work and though he cares about his partners he doesnt worry to much about them. It’s not really unreasonable, they’ll just never hear from him while he’s working.

If something does happen to either Kirk or Kami he’ll most likely hear it from someone else. If it’s not too important he’ll wait till he’s home to ask about it…but if it’s something like them being kidnapped holy f*ck everyone better get out of his way because he won’t stop till he’s got them back safe and there will be a trail of destruction in is wake

From the beginning Kami was the one to start the group text between the three of them just on a whim but it’s become a sort of check in point for all of them. Hes also the one who bought the big calender in the kitchen where everyone writes their work scheduals for the month. He likes to keep track of where they are and when he’ll see them again and honestly this has been a big help keeping their relationships happy and healthy.

Unfortunatly, he’s also the one who struggles the most communicating with Baku and Kirk if he needs help. He doesn’t like to inconvenience them especially while they are at work. On the other hand he will drop everything if he can if he finds out either his partners needs him. If he can’t, he’ll worry all day till he can see them again.

This boy, no need to worry about Kiri because he keeps everyone updated with pictures all day. He uses the group chat to send selfies and updates on his day in between missions or whiles he’s just patrolling. Sometimes he’ll even get a message back from Baku telling him to get his ass back to work!! Neither of his partners really mind it though. If he doesn’t post or send them an update after a few hours Kami starts to worry and Baku will wonder if he’s really that busy…

Kiri really gets on both Baku and Kami for not communicating enough. Baku for not communicating at all during his shift, and Kami for not keeping them updated when he gets sent to the hospital or needs their help.

For the anniversary commentary: the different friendship dynamics? Like Bkdk are going to be nothing like Bakunari for instance. How did you manage to make each pairing of friends feel unique and personal to just those two characters?

(Any advice on writing the first one btw? I always have the balance of rivalry vs friendship just off and them sound a bit too mean or clingy, lol.)

I feel like the answer to the first part is semi-answering the second part, so I'm gonna go ahead and do that now aksjdfka

The thing about the dynamics in SGIH is that I had to take what existed and consider it ten years later. I still wanted those things that are staples of their personalities, but still be able to show that they're not high schoolers anymore; they're adults. That was something I especially had in mind for Bakugo the whole time, especially considering the fact that he was already going through so much growth in the anime while I was writing.

I tend to write Kaminari very playful, very distracted, very talkative. It's just unfiltered ADHD, and this comfort he has with everyone, including Bakugo. He's very easygoing (which made it really fun to write him distressed and angry in the last chapter and in the chapter where he confronts the two about lying to his face). Being older, I feel that he's still the glue of the group (I know a lot of people say Kiri is the glue, but idk I vibe more with Kaminari). He's never been scared of Bakugo, and I feel like that would've continued to adulthood which is why he wasn't scared to snap at Bakugo when he calls him Dunce Face in that chapter. In my head, Bakugo would be more used to it and not annoyed, hence why he admits he misses Kaminari's memes and has better patience when it comes to his comments.

Meanwhile, Deku I felt would've lost his hesitance when it comes to talking to Bakugo, seeing all the empty threats for what they are (something seen in s5 and manga chapters). With them I go for the sense of brotherly love. Siblings can care about each other but still be ready to insult the other for taking the last gusher pack, you know? I kind of took that past of childhood best friends and that growth they've gone through- for Deku, realizing Bakugo cares about him, for Bakugo, realizing he cares about Deku. They obviously know each other really well (which is why Deku could read Bakugo's feelings about Kiri so easily and why Bakugo trusts Deku with his new experiences in terms of romantic feelings), but they would still mess with each other just for pride's sake. It turns into a game more than a rivalry though.

I guess, long story short, when I write Bakudeku friendship, I write it with the idea of writing brothers. When I write Bakunari friendship, I write it as the one who isn't scared of the scary one and the scary who begrudgingly began to care deeply about the little shit who stuck to him. (sounds similar to Kiri, but Kiri doesn't joke and poke at Bakugo, he's more admiring of him.) Does that make sense?

I put how I think of the others under the cut-

Sero is a little harder because I do write him a little less jokey, but not necessarily serious. He's also easygoing but more intuitive and can kind of notice the serious moments for what they are. Something I gathered from the way that he's usually the one keeping Mineta in check, but is also quick to join Kaminari in poking fun at Bakugo.

Ashido is similar to Kaminari but with added confidence and leadership in my head, also not as distracted, just very hyper.

Jirou has always been really chill, but I like to think that she relaxes more and jokes with the others when they're older, hence why she was laughing and so easygoing when she finds out Kiri had someone he was messing around with.

Todoroki is a little bit harder to write. I hate that a lot of people write him as straight up stupid, especially because he's super smart. He just tends to take things more literally than he needs to. I wrote him really calm and forward, but I do wish I'd written him differently now that I've read and seen s5 animated as well as World Heroes' Mission. I think his friendship with Bakugo is a mix of Bakunari and Bakudeku which would be so fun to write. (Which is something I tried to include in the second part of the Poprocks Family Vignettes!)

And alllllll of these are different from their dynamic with Kiri, so that was fun to keep in mind too aksjfakld

So @franeridart is one of my most favorite bnha artists artist in general really She makes these amazing short comics that are all so cute and funny and I especially LOVE her #bakushimanari tag! So here are some hc’s that I just could not hold myself back from writing!

Bakugou x Kirishima x Kaminari

This group of boys may seem very different at first sight and, well, they are and thats what makes them such a good match for each other!

Despite all of their personal insecurities, each thinks so highly of the others and support each other through their weaknesses.

While Bakugou is a bit slower to show his affection, Kiri and Kami are patient and understand that he shows love differently and love him just the way he is. He takes himself way to seriously sometimes and they are right there to support him when it all becomes a bit to much for him to handle.

Baku would be the protector of the group. Of course they would all have each others backs, obviously, but Baku would be like the watch dog. He’d always keep his eye out for the other two, not necessarily keeping them out of trouble but being right there if they needed help. Also just supper protective of them in general though.

Kirishima is very much attached to both of his partners. He’s very affectionate and loves to hold on to them. He loves holding hands and hugging and telling them how special they are to him in different ways. They never feel over whelmed but both know they are loved very very much by him!

Kiri is the compassionate one. He’s sensitive to the moods and feelings of his partners and would be able to see right through them. He’s the one who would know when they needed to be held and to give them space when they needed it. He’s super good at comforting them though and they find peace and comfort right in his arms. Its where they go to hide from the world sometimes

Kami is a flexible dude. He’s pretty much ready for whatever the duo has in store for him, he just loves being with them. He’s playful and does a good job of bringing and keeping the mood up for the group. Honestly when he walks in the room they both notice the change. His smile has become something very precious to them both and they go to great lengths to make him happy.

Kami in the supportive one. Those he is the one who questions himself and his abilities the most out of the three, he looks up to the others and in them find the strength to lift them up. He fully believes, without a doubt, they they can do anything they put their mind to! Because of that, he encourages them constantly and is their main source of support.
