Hiro hamada dating head canons!!
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
_______________
He's a little shit. He has the worst humor in the world would absolutely laugh at those "funny" pictures on pintrest and send them to you.
Romance? Yeah not a single romantic bone in his body, the one time he tried to do something romantic was when he took you to do ice skating rink and you ended up breaking your leg because he accidentally tripped you.
He felt sosososos guilty and kept apologizing until you were fully healed, then he just went back to rambling on about lost media and science.
Baymax is this guys biggest enemy omfg, one time when you fell asleep on him baymax though hiro was sick because of how red he was and his heartbeat.
Hiro lies and said it never happened but you know it did and that's enough to keep ya happy.
He's not good with touch as you can tell, that doesn't he doesn't like it. He loves physical touch but doesn't know how to handle it.
He starts tensing up and stuttering when he gets hugs from you.
Speaking of hugs he doesn't like them that much, in the movie he tenses up alot, so he usually just goes to hold your pinky with his.
PDA infront of family or friends? He will bury himself a live before he let's that happen.
Like this man can't stand lovely dovey couples in public but his biggest fear is being one.
He wants to be chill and confident about your relationship but he gets jealous so fast-
And you can tell cause he doesn't make mean jokes and snarky comments he's just quiet staring dead eyed 💀
You often get the hint and go home but he's still salty, like super salty. Once he had baymax pick you up and set you outside the room when you apologized after coming back from class where a guy was flirting with you.
You actually stand up for mochi so much he thinks your only with him for the cat soemtimes.
Proves how easily jealous he is my god
So smart and so dumb bro, YOU HAD TO CONFESS
And he didn't get that you were confessing until you grabbed him by the shoulders and told him you loved him-
Yall are overall cute together but people couldn't even tell you were dating because you acted the same form when you were bestfriends.

Okay so here are some more Disney Mirrorverse characters
Tumblr media
Anger they didn't really change at all. They just made him slightly volcanic. He also has a sword (not pictured here).
Tumblr media
Baloo basically looks like he walked out of a weird Furry version of Mad Max.
Tumblr media
Baymax looks weird, it looks like they tried to integrate his power armor into his design. Not really a fan.
Tumblr media
OH HI BEAST SOMEONE HAS BEEN TAKING LEVELS IN PALADIN HUH?
Tumblr media
I like how they didn't really change Buzz's design. They just gave him a bigger gun.
Tumblr media
Man if looks could kill Donald would already be in prison. I do like they made the effort to distinguish him from the KH version. The energy anchor is a nice touch too.
Tumblr media
OKAY WHY IS DORY EVEN FUCKING HERE? Spare her the horrors of war I implore you!
Tumblr media
I like this, its similar to her normal outfit, but clearly designed for combat with more maneuverability.
Tumblr media
THIS IS THE MONADO'S POWER! I mean, EVE already has combat abilities, does she really need the flipper swords?
Tumblr media
Again reminds me of Elsa's design. Its the same dress as the canon version, just designed for more maneuverability. And with big stupid WOW shoulderpads too. Also I guess she's just lobbing the poison apples at people now.
Tumblr media
Yeah, remember Frank Wolff? Dwayne the Rock Johnson's character from the hit Disney Movie Jungle Cruise? Yeah no I don't either. Look, the movie had came out, they needed to promote it. Have Dwayne The Rock Johnson with a Swamp Thing arm.
Tumblr media
This one is alright, feels like if they were making the edgy Pre MCU Frozone movie this is what he would look like.
Tumblr media
Alright real big fan of this one. This looks like the Genie like a thousand years post Aladdin where he's become a powerful Genie lord and rules over his own kingdom and stuff. Just love the design here.
Tumblr media
I like this. Pretty simplistic design.
Tumblr media
Not gonna lie I could imagine canon Hades wearing this.
Tumblr media
I think this is largely just a recolor of his canon costume. *checks* Not even a recolor, its basically just the same outfit.
Tumblr media
Honestly never even seen Onward so I could not comment. It looks fine though, he looks like a DnD character.
Tumblr media
So they took Judy Hopps and gave her a Zero Suit. I can dig it.
Tumblr media
Again, this is something I could see Maleficent wearing.
Tumblr media
So the question is how do they change up Maui for Mirrorverse? Answer, just make his tattoos glow. Its a cool effect to be sure.
Tumblr media
this one is pretty good. No complaints.
Tumblr media
I HAVE SEVERAL QUESTIONS. Why is Mike in power armor? Why is here here at all?
Tumblr media
Pretty cute design, but I get the feeling Minnie isn't fully aware she's about to be going to war.
Tumblr media
This is a nice design, its simple, and it builds subtly off Moana's normal look.
Tumblr media
Why are his hands glowing? What does that add?
Tumblr media
OH GOD THEY PUT OLAF IN A LITTLE CAPE I CAN'T. Why is he even here? Olaf cannot face the horrors of war. He looks so determined too like that face says "I'm about to kick some ass today!"
Tumblr media
Okay the jacket is a bit much, but I am kind of digging the roulette wheel shield and the dice flail.
Tumblr media
Again have note seen Raya, but this seems alright. Probably should make time for some of these newer Disney films, especially since I want to show support during the whole DeSantis....thing.
Tumblr media
Really like this one, especially the sewing needle weapons.
Tumblr media
Goddamn Scar, cut back on the vaping man! What the actual fuck with this one?
Okay I'm out of space for pictures in this one so gonna continue this in a part 2.

To be yourself is all that you can do
Also posted on AO3!
TRIGGER WARNINGS - self-harm (not explicit), past temporary character death, anxiety attacks, and grief/mourning.
DO NOT SHIP PETER AND TONY. P/ROSHIP DNI.
--
Someone falls to pieces, sleeping all alone Someone kills the pain, spinning in the silence She finally drifts away Someone gets excited in a chapel yard, catches a bouquet Another lays a dozen white roses on a grave Yeah, and to be yourself is all that you can do Hey, to be yourself is all that you can do - Be Yourself, Audioslave
Peter forgets where he is, until he hears a little girl’s concerned voice.
“Petey, did you get hurt?”
That’s when he realizes he hasn’t covered his arms under his sleeves, and Morgan is seeing all the ugly cuts filling his skin. Peter also goes cold when he remembers that Tony and Pepper are home, though they don’t seem to pay attention. They’re bantering in the kitchen. In fact, they were all cooking together when Peter lied that he was tired so he would go to the couch. Tony could always read him like an open book, but he was having a good time with his family, and Peter at least didn’t ruin it.
So, Peter went to the bathroom. And then he went to the couch, silent as a rock.
But now the worst outcome has come true. Peter has tainted Morgan’s innocence. How is he going to explain it to her? She’s so young to know about self-harm and how little sense it makes.
“I’ll get Daddy-!” Morgan is about to jump out of the couch to run to the kitchen and he’s going to ruin Tony’s happiness–
“No! I-I mean-!” Peter lets out, thankfully not too loudly. “It’s fine, I swear.” The cuts still burn a little, wearing the knit sweater Tony got him is quite itchy. “I have super healing, remember? They’ll be gone soon.”
If anything, they’re not healing properly.
Morgan can probably tell.
“Do you need ice? Band-aids?” She suggests. “You’ll need a lot of them though…”
“I-It’s okay, Mo. I can handle it.”
Peter gulps, glancing at the kitchen. He can hear Neil Young playing. It’s not like the AC/DC Tony would blast in the workshop… Peter might miss it, but this little life he built here with Pepper and their daughter is nice.
“Just promise me you won’t tell your parents, okay?” Peter asks (begs). He knows it’s unfair to do this to Morgan after what she has just seen. “I don’t want them to freak out or anything.”
She doesn’t look as shocked anymore but she looks very sad for him.
“Okay,” Morgan replies simply. Meaning it.
Peter doesn’t know why Morgan isn’t asking anything. She doesn’t question where the cuts come from. She doesn’t ask why Peter did this to himself. She doesn’t get mad. She doesn’t cry.
Instead…
Morgan wraps her small arms around Peter’s neck. That makes the boy’s eyes tear up, but he has to swallow them for now.
“There, there,” Morgan pats his back. That action makes him snort. She’s imitating Baymax, since they watched Big Hero 6 the other day.
“T-Thanks.”
Morgan really does love him. He’s her “super big brother”.
Then she lets go and smiles at him. Morgan is so cute. Peter would’ve squeezed her but his arms hurt and he doesn’t want to hurt her, too.
Suddenly, her eyes sparkle.
“You wait here!” Morgan says, suddenly sprinting away.
It seems like she’s running upstairs.
Peter frowns, trying to figure out what she’s up to. At the same time, he sees his cuts again, glaring at them. He feels so stupid for relapsing, but he had such an awful night of sleep and he needed to distract himself, he couldn’t have an anxiety attack when everyone else wants to have fun–
Morgan has returned with a fuzzy blanket that she probably got from Peter’s room, as well as a little stuffed bunny that she gave him.
“Here! Now you’re warm and you’re not alone!” Morgan says proudly.
Peter laughs, rather broken. He hugs his bunny. “Aww, thank you.”
“Now one last thing!” The girl runs again, but she goes to the kitchen instead.
Morgan is likely looking for something as she runs all over the kitchen to get specific things. She’s even panting at this point.
“Whoa there, speedy, what’s all the rush for?” Tony questions, teasingly.
“I need choco milk!”
“Nice try, young lady, dinner will be ready in less than five minutes,” Pepper points out. She must be crossing her arms, even if she’s not too serious, either.
“No, it’s an emergency! Petey is sad, so he needs choco milk so he doesn’t feel so sad anymore!”
Oh f…
Okay. Okay, at the very least Morgan didn’t tell them Peter is hurt.
And is it really her fault? Morgan just wants to help. And she’s doing the right thing getting the adults, too. No child should be forced to take care of a teenager who can’t handle his own brain.
Anyway, the happy environment is definitely over. Peter can sense the tension coming from Pepper and Tony. They might even be looking at each other to figure out what to do next.
Peter stays quiet.
“Hey, Morguna,” Tony resumes his sweet dad tone, “how about you and Mom get Peter a really nice book while I make the choco milk?”
“Yeah! Story for Petey!” Morgan loves the idea.
Two people leave the kitchen. “I’ll be back, Petey!” Morgan reassures from afar.
With the mother and daughter upstairs, the floor seems awfully silent. Save for the music.
Peter can also hear Tony sighing to himself.
He hates that.
The man seems to handle both the chocolate milk and dinner. Peter knows his mentor is going to confront him soon, and his heart is beating faster. And the teen knows he can’t run to the restroom again.
Peter spends so long overthinking that when the steps are coming towards him, he hides in the blanket to pretend he’s not there. Wow, he used to do this so much as a kid. Especially when he was sad and Uncle Ben would come and find him…
“... Hello, strange lump. I’m looking for my teenager who could use some chocolate milk right now,” Tony jokes. “Can you get him for me?”
Peter pretends he didn’t feel warm when Tony called him his teenager.
Gulping again, the boy comes out.
“Um, hi.”
“Hey, kid. Brought you milk.”
“Yeah, thanks.”
As Tony hands him the cup, he’s actually cupping both of Peter’s hands, too. Tony is kneeling down in front of him. Peter doesn’t dare look up.
“What happened?” Tony whispers.
“I dunno. I had a bad night.” Peter is not completely lying.
“Nightmare?”
The teen shakes his head. “I couldn’t sleep.”
“Oh, Pete, you can let me know when you can’t sleep.”
The gentle reminder, without a hint of annoyance, certainly won’t help Peter hide his tears. He looks down, staring at his hidden lower arms.
“It was stupid and… I didn’t want you to know.”
Peter doesn’t want to see Tony’s sad face. He doesn’t want to be reminded of someone who looked out for him that bore the same expression. The sadness of unconditional love, despite all of Peter’s mistakes.
“Hey,” Tony calls, “look at me.”
The teenager almost shakes his head, knowing it would be rude.
Knowing he’ll just regret avoiding Tony, too.
The man is smiling.
“I love you, Peter. Pepper and Morgan love you, too. We’re here for you through anything, including your lows,” Tony tells him.
With that, he kisses Peter’s forehead without a second thought.
Tony has always been affectionate, but now, it’s like he’s opened himself more. That likely has to do with Morgan.
Everything has changed so much…
“Now, I just want you to get warm and get ready for a story,” the man breaks him out of his trance. “Does that sound good?”
“Of course, Mr. Stark.”
Soon, Morgan and Pepper are back with quite a handful of books.
“Whoa, that’s a lot you got there,” Tony comments.
“I didn’t know what to pick! There are so many good ones! Maybe Petey can tell us which one he likes the most,” Morgan suggests.
“Okay, you kids settle down now. You leave the stories to the pros.”
Pepper rolls her eyes. “I’m obviously the pro here.”
Morgan joins Peter on the couch, snuggling against him, the two protected by the blanket. Tony and Pepper sit on the floor, all the books lying around. They show Peter some of them. Of course, the one about the spider that couldn’t web attracts him.
The spider could stick to the walls like any other spider, but she couldn’t make any of the beautiful webs. She felt lonely and alienated. Eventually she finds a group of spiders that have other “flaws” that accept her the way she is.
Tony and Pepper will make silly voices together. Morgan always laughs or gives snarky comments like her parents do. Peter doesn’t really say much, but he feels his body relaxing more and more.
They don’t read all the books, mostly because they still have to eat dinner which has gotten cold. They reheat it and eat together. Peter can feel their eyes on him but he can’t blame them. Other than that, it’s pretty calm.
Morgan is tired after doing everything to make Peter feel better, so she goes to bed rather early (even if she tries to convince them otherwise). Once Pepper and Tony tuck her in, Peter shows up. Morgan is already with her eyes closed, breathing in and out…
Peter grins, kissing her forehead.
“Thanks, Morgan. You’re my hero, too.”
“You’re welcome, Petey-pie…” the girl says sleepily.
Peter smooths her hair gently, soon turning off the lamp for her.
When he leaves, he can tell Pepper and Tony were watching them.
The two plus Peter hang around in the living room. The adults are talking more. Peter is actually in the middle of them, like he’s their kid, too.
Sometimes they ask him stuff to include him. Peter might unintentionally make funny comments every now and then. Pepper laughs out loud, mostly because Peter is just telling her an embarrassing thing Tony did years ago. The man’s look of betrayal makes it all the funnier.
Peter faintly hears Harvest Moon by Neil Young in the background.
The whole time, the spider-teen tries not to scratch his arms and likely tear them apart again. It must mean that his wounds still haven’t healed. And he feels like he can’t just leave to go to the restroom again. Peter is really bad at hiding things and Tony is more than familiar with it.
Millions of “what-ifs” race in a loop inside Peter’s head, which has him not realize the snapping fingers in front of him.
“... hello? Peter?” Tony calls him.
“Oh? Hey. Hi. Sorry. I totally spaced out right now.”
“You’ve been scratching your arm for a bit… Is the sweater bothering you?”
“No! No, it’s just a tic.”
Tony and Pepper eye each other again. Peter wishes he could hide in the blanket lump and never, ever come out again.
“I’m, uhhhh… going to get some water,” the boy panics, leaving the couch even though he doesn’t want to. But he does need a glass of water.
Neil Young is the main thing he hears in the kitchen. Peter, however, can tell the adults in the living room are whispering to themselves. He tries to distract himself with his phone; there aren’t new messages from Aunt May or Ned. They’re both out of town, the former is with her friends she hasn’t seen in five years, and Ned is spending time with his family as he should. Peter doesn’t know about MJ since she doesn’t often open up about her personal life.
Maybe some part of him wants to run away right now. Literally right now. He can do that. But Tony and Pepper are going to look for him. Morgan is going to blame herself because she can’t heal Peter’s wounds – the mental and the physical.
Peter finishes the water in one swallow, nearly choking. Thankfully, that doesn’t happen.
Thus, he returns to the living room. Pepper is standing up while Tony remains on the couch. She sees Peter and smiles.
“I’m going to bed,” she announces. “You two don’t stay up too late, alright?”
“I would never,” Tony jokes.
Peter smiles nervously.
Pepper approaches him and gently kisses his head.
“Good night, honey.”
Honey…
“Hey, don’t I get a kiss, too?” Tony whines.
Pepper rolls her eyes but she kisses her husband, too.
“Um, good night, Pepper,” Peter waves awkwardly and she waves back.
Finally, she’s going upstairs, leaving Tony and Peter on their own.
“So kid, wanna spend some ‘us’ time now?” The hero wonders.
Peter, for some reason, cannot answer right away.
He knows that if he goes to bed, he won’t be able to sleep.
But he doesn’t want Tony to know about his arms.
He has no way out.
“... you okay?” Tony softens his voice a lot more.
“Y-Yeah, yeah, I’m fine, Mr. Stark.”
“Hey now, I don’t bite.”
“I-I know.”
Tony is trying to be that jokey man from before, but his worry only grows. Peter knows that Tony is not going to bed anytime soon BECAUSE of Peter. He’ll stay there forever. And ever.
For once, the boy returns to the couch, but this time he sits on the other corner of the couch, away from Tony. He’s hugging himself as a pathetic form of comfort. And he knows that’s only going to hurt Tony further. Why is Peter like this?
Regardless, the man is stretching an arm, inviting Peter to come closer.
The latter wants to cry.
“Kid?” Tony urges. “What do you need right now?”
Peter gulps. “I-I…”
He can’t hide the sniff.
“I dunno. B-But I don’t want to go to bed,” he replies. “I-I don’t want to go home, either.” I don’t want to be alone. I don’t want to be alone again.
“It’s alright, buddy. You can stay here.”
“I-I feel like I’m getting in the way.”
“You aren’t.”
“It’s like I don’t belong here, Mr. Stark.”
These last words feel like a stab to the heart.
“I’ve been away for five years and- and when I come back, suddenly I find out you have a daughter and you’re not living upstate anymore, and our workshop is gone, and there isn’t hard rock playing in the house… a-and it’s not like this life you built here is bad , it’s just… I wasn’t here for all of it. And you look so happy, Mr. Stark. You have an actual family. And I’m just… here.”
Peter’s vision is blurring.
“... you miss the life we had, right?” Tony whispers.
The teenager nods, trying to contain his sobs.
“Like the nights I spent at the Compound… the movies we watched together… that awesome, open view… all those big rooms… Happy, Rhodey, even Vision who didn’t always show up… When we built stuff together and we had all the bots with us, and when we couldn’t sleep we would just stargaze…” the more Peter talks, the more he breaks. “But now? Everything’s changed. A-And they’re not bad changes! ‘Cause this place here is nice, I-I love Morgan, I love Pepper, but it’s not the same and I feel like I–”
Tony has slowly scooted closer, still not touching Peter.
“... I came back wrong. I… I’m still the same sixteen-year-old from before, but somehow I’m not. You still grew up without me and it doesn’t feel right.”
The man is completely silent, but Peter can tell he’s listening, and every word that comes out of the boy must be killing him inside.
“You guys look so happy together, and with me here… I dunno, I feel like I’m ruining everything.”
“Peter…”
“... I ruined Morgan specifically.”
Tony frowns. “What do you mean?”
Peter freezes and swallows. Now he has to tell the truth.
“Mr. Stark, I… I did… I did something stupid. Something really stupid. The thing is, what happened last night… is that suddenly this dread will fill my gut and it’s like I’m”– he knows it’ll be awful to say –“I’m going to turn into dust at any moment.”
Tony’s tension rises even if he doesn’t say anything.
“And I usually just distract myself, and I can’t sleep anymore because what if I never wake up again?” Peter argues. “But then it happened again in the kitchen when you guys were having fun, and I rushed to the restroom before you noticed and I…”
He sighs deeply, clutching his own arm.
When he pulls up his sleeve, the cuts still look ugly. They don’t look any more healed. The sweater is probably making it worse.
Sensing the horror coming from Tony, Peter cries harder.
“M-Morgan saw this! She saw all of this, and I was so stupid, she’s just a child, she wasn’t supposed to know. S-She didn’t ask any questions but I know she probably wondered why I did this. She just wanted to make me feel better. And she can’t, and it’s not her fault. But what if she blames herself? I even told her to keep this a secret from you. I shouldn’t have done that. I shouldn’t have done this in the first place. I’m so sorry, Mr. Stark.”
As Peter sobs, quiet enough so Morgan and Pepper won’t hear it upstairs, he can sense Tony leaning closer. What is he going to do?
“... It’s not healing,” Tony observes.
“I-I don’t know why. It should’ve healed by now.”
“Hey, I can help my way. You don’t have to force yourself to feel pain.”
“B-But I did this to myself–”
“You don’t deserve it. You’re suffering, Pete. You did it because it made sense at that moment. But even if it wasn’t the best choice… you don’t have to beat yourself up for it.”
How is Tony not angry with him?
While he looks broken, he’s also determined.
“Alright, follow me, kid.”
Tony stands up and heads to the kitchen. He tells Peter to sit on a chair as he likely grabs a first-aid kit. He takes a piece of cotton and likely applies salina.
“You let me know if it burns, okay? I’ll do it slowly.”
Peter may wince, but it’s quite familiar. He used to get hurt pretty often as a kid. Guess that hasn’t changed since.
“After this, you should change into something more comfortable. That sweater isn’t doing good for you.”
“I didn’t want to take it off because you made it.”
“I’m not going to get mad over a sweater, kid. If it’s bothering you, then you don’t have to keep wearing it.”
While saying all of this, Tony’s entire focus is on his arms.
Peter realizes something and tears up again. Some tears might fall.
“Does it hurt?” His mentor asks, concerned he might be making things worse.
“N-No, no, it’s just… I-I don’t remember the last time… we had this.”
I don’t remember the last time you took care of me like this.
Definitely five years ago. Those late nights where Peter came from a bad patrol and Tony had to treat him, along with the doctors he trusted to help Peter. But most of those nights, it was just mentor and mentee, both trying not to mess up but still messing up, and yet learning better.
Peter feels so childish for this. It’s like he hasn’t had parental affection in forever.
Tony chuckles sadly. “Yeah, me neither.”
He looks mournful.
Peter tries to be quiet.
“... I missed this, too.”
The teen looks at Tony, finally.
“I mean, obviously I don’t like that you’re hurt, it’s mostly… I do this all the time with Morgan. I would never trade her or this life here for anything. But in the back of my head… I miss our workshop too, buddy. I miss our sleepovers. Everything seemed so simple back then, right? And all these years, I always had you in my mind. When we bought this cabin… I made sure to have an extra room. Not a mere guest room, but a place for you.”
Tony has stopped treating Peter’s cuts for now, as they’re sharing a meaningful gaze.
“My family… Pepper, Morgan, Rhodey, and Happy were all here. But you weren’t. It never felt complete to me. To any of us, honestly. I didn’t want you to be forgotten. That’s why I told Morgan all about you. We still celebrated your past birthdays. I hoped you’d be here again so we could be together again.”
The hero’s eyes are filled with water.
“I’m glad you’re here with us, Pete. But I understand how you feel. You haven’t had the time to mourn what you lost. You just suddenly returned and all that life you knew was gone.”
Peter tenses. “I-I hope I’m not being ungrateful or anything–”
“No, you’re not. You’re right to feel sad.”
Tony stares at him for a while, until he resumes his job. Peter just watches him in the meantime, looking more exhausted. The boy replays all the things he said…
Somewhere in the back of his head, Peter always had the impression Tony didn’t miss him and would’ve probably been okay without him. And he only welcomed Peter again because Tony didn’t want to ignore him. Or he did it out of pity.
Now, Peter feels stupid for even feeling this way.
After drying his arms with the cotton, Tony seems to apply some ointment onto the injuries, slowly massaging Peter’s arms. Not a word is shared between them.
When the man is over, he sighs in relief.
“You should let them breathe now,” Tony tells him. “If they don’t get better in the morning, we’ll figure something out.”
Peter looks at the cuts, which are still red. At the very least, they’re not burning and itching like before.
“Thanks…” he mumbles.
“You want me to get you another sweater?”
“N-No, no… I'm not cold.”
Peter takes off the one he’s currently wearing, revealing an old t-shirt beneath. The kind that has science puns.
Tony takes the knit sweater for him, folding it neatly. Following that, he puts away the first-aid kit. Peter waits in the chair. Later, they return to the couch. This time, Peter is glued to Tony. The music has been lowered but it’s still there.
The teen, however, wants to cry again.
He knows he can’t change the past and that he has to accept it at one point. But it didn’t have to be this painful. There wasn’t any point. And while he may be with Tony now, Peter will never know if something will separate them again. He doesn’t want to deal with that again.
He can’t stop thinking about it.
Tony, of course, notices. With his arm wrapped around Peter, he rubs the latter’s up and down.
“It’s okay, buddy. You can let it out.”
That way, he cries what is still repressed inside him. Tony allows him, making sure Peter doesn’t cry alone.
Eventually, Peter is lying his head on Tony’s lap, the latter smoothing the former’s hair. Peter has relaxed significantly, though knowing that anxiety is going to bite him back later. In fact, he’s already wondering what time it is. He assumes it must be late.
Tony senses it. “It’s alright, kid. No rush.”
“You should go to bed…”
“I’m not sleepy. Are you?”
“Not really. There’s too much in my head.”
“Same here.”
Peter doesn’t want to be selfish and take Tony down with him, but he figures that’s not true. Tony Stark can do whatever he wants.
“You want to stay like this?” The man asks. “Or maybe we could watch something. Your choice.”
“Hmm… maybe.”
Tony snorts as Peter melts in the touch.
“You really needed this, huh?”
“Yeah…”
Peter faintly hears a remote and the TV speaking at a lower volume. He supposes Tony turned off the music for good. Some goofy cartoon might be airing judging by the noises. Tony switches channels for a bit. Meanwhile, he keeps running his fingers through Peter’s curls, not losing any concentration.
If he’s not mistaken, Tony might have put Finding Nemo. Which they already watched years ago. And it’s right on the scene where Marlin finds the only remaining egg from the barracuda attack.
The soundtrack for this movie is nice.
As well as Marlin’s reassurances and Tony’s presence.
Those two aren’t too different from each other, honestly.
Peter doesn’t actually see the movie now, but he hears the whole plot. He remembers it well.
His eyes are closed.
It’s only the movie, Peter and Tony.
It’s just them again.
Even if everything else has changed… that at least hasn’t.
Peter is home.
He finally feels home.
When he wakes up again, he realizes Tony has lied them both down on the couch. And the man is snoring.
Honestly, as loud as it is, Peter doesn’t mind it.
He just falls asleep once more.
Eventually, Morgan joins them, lying on top of Peter.
Pepper might take pictures.
And Tony complains he’s being crushed.
Peter’s cuts have gotten better. They haven’t quite disappeared, but they’re not red anymore.
As he eats breakfast with Tony, Pepper, and Morgan… Peter realizes he’ll be okay. And sometimes he won’t be okay. But he’ll get through.

Something that proves that Representation in Slice of Life shows aren't focused on because you can't make click-bait shit about them like with the adventure, fantasy and drama stuff is that Lightyear is getting praised for having a Lesbian couple kiss even though it indulges in the bury-your-gays trope (even if it's them dying of old age still not even in the movie for long). While Baymax, released at the same time as Lightyear, a short series (Only has 6 episodes) has a lot of representation in the series, with one of episodes ending with Mbita, the main character of that episode ,an gay Black man asking Yukio (an gay asian man) on a date. Hell, it has in one of it scenes on a episode about Periods, it has a Tran man give Baymax a recommendation on what pads to get Sofia ,the main character of that episode. (It also has the man wearing a transgender flag shirt so it was made known that he was trans, even though I feel like just having him wear a hat with transgender flag would work but still) But that show doesn't get the headlines about it at all cause it's not a Fantasy, Adventure, Action, Drama. It's a show where Baymax is helping people, a Slice of Life. It's really shitty if you ask me. where the cute show that has made me tear up a lot getting me to tears isn't praised at all but Lightyear gets all the praise despite it not even interesting me at all and only watching cause it was the only thing to do.
I said that before. LGBTA rep in cartoons has been pretty good for a decade, but since the majority of it is in Slice of Life shows which are considered "cringe" and "not serious" all the praise and discussion goes to the Avatar Sequel, the Centrist Power Fantasy, the Torture Porn and the Portalquest Fantasy because those are the "Cool and Serious" cartoons.

TheAwkwardAnglophile's Year in TV shows: 2022
It seems I've started a tradition, and even though I know only very few people will actually see or read this, it's still fun to put together. This is my third time doing this. Feel free to check out my lists for 2021 and 2020 as well.
My criteria for shows making the list is the show either aired new content in 2022, or I'd never watched it before. So, while I did several rewatches, those didn't count. Also, beware: SPOILERS ABOUND! Here's the list in alphabetical order:
Abbott Elementary: What a perfect little sitcom that just stormed onto the scene after so many beloved sitcoms had gone off the air the last few years. They deserve all the accolades! It is genuinely hilarious. Ava probably makes me laugh harder than any of them, and of course I'm here for Janine and Gregory.
Andor: Holy crap, I was not expecting to be drawn into this show as much as I was. What a brilliant deep dive into the Star Wars universe. So many layers and subtleties to it. Luthen's monologue BLEW ME AWAY, and I looooved the prison escape. You get such a better understanding of how terrifyingly far the Empire's reach went.
Baymax: I was expecting a full-blown series, so I was very disappointed to find only 6 short episodes that were only a few minutes long. However, it was more Baymax, which is always a good thing. I think my favorite was the episode Kiko, which had Mrs. Kim from Gilmore Girls (Emily Kuroda)!
Blockbuster: I know it got cancelled, but I actually kind of enjoyed it. It wasn't the best, but it had potential. There were a few genuinely funny moments for me, and I think the episode where they do inventory was my favorite.
The Book of Boba Fett: Ok, so I know there are a lot of Fett fans out there from the past 40 years, but I'm indifferent to Boba. But I found a lot to enjoy in this show. I liked watching Boba connect with the Tusken Raiders. However, the pacing and structure were terrible, Fennec was underutilized, and the Mos Espa "power rangers" left me scratching my head. The BEST PART of it all was the Mandalorian season 2.5 they snuck in there! Watching Grogu with Luke, seeing what Mando had been up to, and the most beautiful father/son reunion!! MY HEART. Sorry you got sidelined in your own show, Boba, but the Mando eps were WIZARD.
Call Me Kat: I'm still watching, still enjoying, but this show is kind of a mixed bag sometimes. I was not happy with how everything went down with Oscar. He was such a sweetheart! Am I happy Kat and Max have become a couple? Yeah, I guess, but I think it could've been done differently. Also, it won't be the same now without the lovely Leslie Jordan, RIP.
Derry Girls: Loved the final season. It's so quirky and fascinating and hilarious. The parents' high school reunion was absolute GOLD.
Dream Home Makeover: It's definitely one of those shows that you question why you're watching, yet you can't turn away. I don't want to like it. The couple is just odd together sometimes, and everything was shown out of order! One minute she was pregnant and then she wasn't, but then they'd go back to her being pregnant!
Emily in Paris: Season 3 was pretty good, although I found Emily a bit grating. I was worried they were going to make the whole season about her shenanigans working for both companies, but thankfully that got resolved quickly. Luc is still such a delight, and Sylvie has even grown on me. Gabriel and Alfie are still 🔥🔥.
Hawkeye: I watched this at the beginning of '22, so it's a bit fuzzy now, but it was enjoyable. Not quite at the level of some of the other Marvel shows (like Loki or Wandavision) but still pretty fun.
History 101: A fascinating little documentary series! I was hooked. Each episode was about a very specific topic and was brilliantly done.
Home Economics: This sitcom is pretty fun. I've always loved Topher Grace (although oddly enough I never watched That 70's Show 🙈), and he still nails awkward comedy. All the family dynamics are fun to watch, the kids are cute. And the Spiderman joke when they were at Disneyland had me ROLLING.
The Home Edit: I devour these episodes whenever they drop, and then I want to revamp my entire house, and life. I love organization, plus Joanna and Clea make everything fun to watch.
How I Met Your Father: I was SUPER skeptical about this one, and maybe still am a bit (HIMYM fans, you understand). But I ended up enjoying it more than I thought. I need to watch the last ep again to prep for the upcoming season 2, because I've forgotten a lot. I'm curious to see where it goes.
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous: The last season was wild, and I COULD NOT STAND Kenji's dad. The woooooorst. Shipped Brooklynn and Kenji, and happy Yaz and Sammy found happiness together. The ending was very satisfying for everyone!
Moon Knight: Oh DANG, what a ride. So many moments I'm like, "WHAAAAAAT am I even watching?!" But it was a fun, trippy adventure, and Oscar Isaac deserves all the awards.
Name That Tune: Always fun. I slay at this game.
Never Have I Ever: I just LOVE this show. Season 3 was another stellar season, and I am still definitely Team Ben! That ending! And the show still makes me cry, especially the scene with Devi and her mom in the finale. 😭
Obi-Wan: I know this wasn't as well received as was hoped, but I enjoyed it. Young Leia was fantastic! Lola, too (I have adopted her in my club of beloved droids). The story worked, and the Vader/Obi-Wan showdown was pretty amazing. The last 20 minutes of the finale was just a giant checklist of fan service, but honestly, I'm not complaining.
Only Murders in the Building: LOVE LOVE LOVE. This show is so incredible, and season 2 didn't disappoint! It's smart, hilarious, and I love the intro music so much. The intros were actually made even better by each one being slightly different with something related to that particular episode.
The Orville: If this journey for The Orville is truly at an end, then they sent it off well. A satisfying ending. I think the supersized episodes didn't work as well as their punchier 40-minute eps, but man, when they go big they go BIG. Incredibly well done topics, and the effects! INSANE. I swear Hulu must have kept just dumping money on them, like "Go ahead and make whatever effects you want!"
Paper Girls: This was...weird. I went through most of this going, "WHAT AM I EVEN WATCHING?" Obviously I loved all the retro vibes, and I was curious enough in the story to stick it out, but that was about it. It got pretty dark at times, and I thought the language, while warranted, got excessive enough at times to detract from the story. Anyway, if they were trying to capture the magic of Stranger Things, it didn't work, and it got cancelled anyway.
The Rookie: MY HEART! MY OTP. MY BEST SHIP AND SHIPPING EXPERIENCE EVER. My obsession with Chenford has exploded even more, as any of my followers can clearly tell. I love Tim and Lucy SO MUCH, and watching them become canon has been INCREDIBLE. But also, the show itself has stepped up its game in S5. The plots are better, more balanced, and I love all the different relationships shown. Making Thorsen a regular was a fantastic decision. The social media team has been killing it. And the show has gained tons of viewers and fans. We are truly in the golden age of The Rookie.
The Rookie: Feds: I like the show, but don't love it...yet. Maybe I will? It is done well, but it's just there. I watch it when I get around to it. Garza and Laura are probably my fave characters. I do like Simone, but she's also a lot. And I say this only because it's the FBI and there must be some kind of dress code, she should probably cover up the girls more. I swear she's going to end up having a wardrobe malfunction.
School of Chocolate: Pretty fascinating little chocolate-making competition.
Star Trek: Discovery: S4 was kind of a mixed bag. I'm not sure it was as memorable as previous seasons. I hate Tilly left. I did like that there was a running thread throughout of identity and belonging, and mental health. My FAVORITE part was how they found a way to communicate with Species Ten-C. Some brilliant television.
Star Trek: Lower Decks: S3 was ok, not my favorite, but it's still funny. My fave moment actually came in the DS9 ep. The background swing music at Quark's is actually from a band that my mom does booking for, Denver & the Mile High Orchestra, and for other personal reasons I won't go into here, that moment meant a lot to me.
Star Trek: Picard: Insert Picard facepalm here. I wanted S2 to work so badly, and be amazing, and it just wasn't. I mean it had Q and time travel and all the ingredients for something incredible, and it still didn't work. It would take too long to hash it all out here, but if anyone wants to vent with me, I'm around. I am excited (and nervous) for S3, however! I hope they don't let me down.
Star Trek: Prodigy: I still love the animation, and the kids are fun. I'm gonna be real honest, though. I'm mainly here for Janeway and Chakotay, because no, I'm still not over how Voyager ended, and if an animated kids show will let me see more of these two, I will take whatever I can get.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Before I go any further, may I just point out the amazing WONDER that FIVE different Star Trek series aired new content in 2022?! A new record! The Trekaissance is real. This show exceeded my expectations. It's so different, yet still so classic Star Trek style. The characters are great, and the intro is incredible! I cry at that intro. It's sweeping and gorgeous and ahhhhh.
Stranger Things: I've loved Stranger Things from the beginning, was excited for S4, but when I watched 4x01 I almost gave it up. It felt so dark and depressing, and the scene at the end was horrifying. I put it off for a couple weeks before deciding to try again, and I slowly worked my way through the rest of the season. There were still parts I couldn't watch (I really don't do horror, Stranger Things was always about as far as I would go, but then they really upped the horror in S4, much to my dismay), but ultimately I'm glad I did watch, although unlike the rewatchability of S1-S3, I'm not sure I can go through S4 in its entirety again. But there were some BEAUTIFUL moments we got, lots of laughs, lots of emotions. All the reunions in Vol. 2! El seeing Hopper again 😭. And my absolute favorite part...JOPPER IS CANON!!
Supermarket Sweep: Always a lot of fun. Sad that it won't be back.
Young Sheldon: It's losing steam, but I'm still watching. The whole storyline with Georgie has been interesting.
And there you have it! 33 shows in all, which is probably a record for me. Feel free to message me or send an ask if you want to further chat about any of these. If you read this far, YOU ARE A ROCKSTAR AND I APPRECIATE YOU.

Brought Back Chapter 19: Always Connected
Kairi has a surprise for Riku and the Seasalt Trio come to visit.
Also more sleepy cuddles :3
--------
"Am I interrupting?"
Riku looked up and turned red at her smug grin as she used his own quip against him, and quickly took his hand away from the sleeping Sora's hair. She giggled and came in to sit on the end of the bed.
"I'm guessing you two made up then?"
"Uhh, yeah... What have you got there?" He gestured at a bag she had slung over her shoulder, thankful for an easy way to change the subject.
She took the bag off and reached into it, pulling out a handful of Thalassa shells. "I made a stop at the island on my way back. I thought it was about time I made another Wayfinder."
"A new one?"
"Yep, and it will be for you."
"What?"
She grinned at his surprised expression. "I'm making one for you, and then one for me as well. I should have done this ages ago. Aqua made one each for her, Terra, and Ven, and they kept them connected. I want all three of us to have one as well."

More preview, featuring the Seasalt Trio, below:
-------
In the early evening, Kairi heard the distinct sound of a Gummi Ship landing outside. She looked up from the Wayfinder she had almost finished and turned to ask the boys who they thought it might be. She stopped herself though when she realised they were both asleep, Sora sprawled across Riku's chest and Riku with his arms wrapped around him.
The healing spells seemed to have exhausted Sora as much as Aqua had warned him they would. He'd spent barely an hour awake since morning. She was surprised to see Riku fast asleep during the day, although considering how emotionally draining the last two weeks had been it wasn't all that surprising he was worn out as well.
The sound of the ship was soon followed by voices and the tower door opening. She tiptoed to the bedroom door, hoping to cut off whoever was here before they had a chance to wake the others. She entered the office just in time, as Axel, Roxas, and Xion came through the opposite door.
"Hey, Kai-" Axel stopped mid-sentence as Kairi waved a hand and put a finger to her lips, urgently signalling that they should be quiet. The three of them stared at her, nonplussed, each with two chocolate ice creams in their hands. She grinned and opened the door behind her a little and jerked her head, gesturing for them to come over and look. The three stuck their heads around the door frame.
They drew back and Kairi closed the door quietly. Xion and Roxas were smiling at the cute scene, but Axel was smirking knowingly. "Well well well, guess you were right then Kairi." He held out an ice cream to her.
"I told you so!" she said gleefully as she took it.
Xion and Roxas exchanged puzzled looks. "What are you guys talking about?" Roxas asked.
"Oh nothing..." Axel crossed his arms and continued smirking. "Just a little theory Kairi had."
"What do you mean?"
"Oh!" Xion gasped and put her hands up to her mouth as she realised what might be going on. She quickly lowered them again though, still confused. "But Kairi, I thought you...?"
"Nah," she shook her head, still grinning. "That was a while ago, things have changed a little."
Xion grinned widely now as well. Roxas looked from each of them to the next with increasing annoyance.
"What's going on? Tell me!"
"Shhh Roxas, you'll wake them up!" Kairi put her finger to her mouth again, but it was too late. They heard muffled voices from the next room and Kairi crossed her arms, giving Roxas a chastising look.
"Don't worry about it right now," Xion told him, not wanting to risk Sora and Riku hearing them.
"But-"
"We wanted to stop by and let you all and Baymax know how things are in his world, pretty sure we got rid of all the Heartless," Axel told Kairi.
"But what-"
"Is it OK that we're here though? If Sora's still too tired we can leave," Xion asked, a little worried after seeing Sora still sleeping.
"Hey-"
"It's OK! he's still tired but loads better, and he'll be happy to see you all."
By this point Roxas was furious. "Will one of you please tell me what's going on!?"
Axel sighed and leant an elbow on his head. "I'll tell you later dumbass."
Kairi heard footsteps behind her and jumped away from the door. Roxas had opened his mouth to retaliate but Kairi stomped on his foot as Riku opened the bedroom door. "Riku! Look who just arrived!" she cried, a little too enthusiastically, trying to cover Roxas's yelp.
"We brought ice cream!" Xion held one out to him. Axel was still smirking.
"Oh, hey, uhh... thanks." Riku took the ice cream, a little overwhelmed after having woken up 30 seconds ago, and moved out of the doorway so they could come in.
Xion and Kairi followed him, while Roxas shoved Axel's elbow off of his head. "You better tell me later..." he grumbled.

This is just for fun, fyi
I feel like making a ranked list of Disney feature movies, according to my personal preference, from "worst" to "best".  To begin, I have to list in chronological order, the ones I have yet to see, so that their absence in the list can be explained.
The Black Cauldron
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Oliver & Company
Doug's 1st Movie
Fantasia 2000
The Tigger Movie
Brother Bear
Home on the Range
The Princess and the Frog
Frozen II
Strange World
Now that I have a list of movies I have actually seen, some once, some several times, some many times, I can share my thoughts on each one, and what makes them so good, or not good.
The Little Mermaid
This one's a "not good", though it has some charm.  All the same, it goes on the very bottom of the list, namely because (1) Ariel is sixteen years old and wants to run away from home to chase after a guy she finds handsome and (2) that whole "never underestimate the power of "body language"" line.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
This movie was a triumph at the time, but honestly there are only seven redeeming features: the dwarves.  As a main character, Snow White is insipid.  Giselle from Enchanted has a similar premise in her story, but she manages to be gullible in a way that doesn't remove her charm and claim to intelligence.  The queen is scary, which is fine for adults, but a child watching that movie may have nightmares.  Case in point: I did.
Pinocchio
Again, with this movie, the main character did not claim my allegiance.  I liked Jiminy Cricket, I liked Geppetto, and I liked the cat and the fish.  The whole movie is an adventure, supposedly, but each phase of the movie is more terrifying than the previous for a sensitive child.  Not a fan.
Fantasia
Apart from the animated sequence with Mickey as the Sorcerer's apprentice, the movie is long and boring.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire
I only saw it once, and I was young.  I thought it was a good movie, but I was too young to fully understand what was happening.  I need to watch it again, as an adult.
Treasure Planet
Again, I only saw it once, but I remember enjoying it thoroughly.  However, I don't have the same emotional attachment as I do to the rest of the roster.
Frozen
I enjoyed Frozen.  It has a lot going for it.  But like the icy landscape it depicts, I feel little to no warmth towards it.  The way those parents treated Elsa, and then the way Elsa felt she had to treat Anna…it's just depressing.
Chicken Little
We are now in the territory of "I love them all, so this is the one I love less than the others".  I love Chicken Little.  I love the characters, I love the sci fi element, I love the soundtrack, and I love the father-son relationship that is at the heart of the movie.  It's just: there are so many of these movies that I love even more.
Bolt
The reason I love this movie so much is the cat character.  Her rough, tough exterior with a vulnerable side that you get to see peeking through makes her the most layered character.  And of course, the dog is cute, the girl who loves the dog is cute.  But really, I watch this movie because I love that cat.
Big Hero 6
The team coming together was awesome.  Baymax was awesome.  So many elements of this story rocked.  I love it, but only this much.
The Great Mouse Detective
I haven't seen this movie since I was little, but I clearly remember how much I loved it.  It was not terrifying, it was thrilling.  In fact, every time a story depicted rodents, for some reason I simply loved it.
The Sword in the Stone
I only remember the first half of this movie.  I remember enjoying it.  But if the ending was that forgettable, I think it deserves a lower rank on the scale.
Robin Hood
Honestly, the fact that they reused so much animation from other movies to make this one quickly irks me to the point that I cannot love it as much as it would otherwise deserve.  Marion is the best part of the movie.
The Jungle Book
This movie is good.  Unfortunately, it is a case of "the movie cannot live up to the book".  Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book is a masterpiece, and the "Disneyfied" version is entertaining to kids, but they deserve to read the book(s).
The Lion King
They say a main character is only as good as his villain.  This is not the case with The Lion King.  Scar is an amazing villain, the hyenas are amazing henchmen, Mufasa is an awesome father, Zazu, Timone and Pumbaa are such good comic relief, Rafiki is the wise advisor, and Nala is a badass love interest.  So why, Simba, are you so two-dimensional and downright dull?  The movie is good despite the main character.  He's cute when he's little though.
Peter Pan
I've never read Peter Pan, but I have seen a live action version which blew my mind.  This version came first, but the other is better.
Alice in Wonderland
Again, the book is better.  However, this time, the movie captures some of the whimsy and mood of the book, so it is redeemed.  Also the tea party scene is hysterical.
Meet the Robinsons
Again, I love this movie.  I love the family, I love the plot, the time travel element, the surprise ending, the soundtrack.  It's just not as dear to me as all the rest, so here is its place on the list.
Pocahontas
I loved this movie when I saw it as a kid.  I loved the music, I loved the suspense, I loved Pocahontas.  I only saw it once, unfortunately, so I cannot say that it is one of my top favorites.  I do want to watch it again.
Winnie the Pooh
It's a good movie, faithful to the book, and reading the book will make you enjoy the movie even more.  That's a win!
Cinderella
When the main character is the sweetest of sweethearts, and she catches the prince's attention, which means he could detect that she is one in a million.  You've got excellent taste, dear prince.
Sleeping Beauty
You know why this is above Cinderella?  The music.  The animation.  The fairies.
Dinosaur
I was blown away by the animation when I saw this movie in my youth, but watching it now, it feels like several layers are missing.  The story is compelling, and there is a variety of interesting characters.  The antagonist is so stupid, though.  It's cringe-worthy. He himself is not the problem, it's his stubborn and dogged personality that make it hard to watch the climax.  But overall it's a solid story, well told.
Tarzan
There's absolutely nothing wrong with it: it's one of my favorites.  I only wish the songs were sung by another singer, because I feel they clash with the rest of the movie.  A very personal opinion.
Hercules
You want to know the best part of this movie?  Meg.  And, next, Hades.  They are both why this movie is so high up on the list.
Aladdin
Robin Williams is the absolute best part of this movie.
One Hundred and One Dalmatians
Beautifully animated, and the inspiration for Cruella, which is one of my favorite movies.  Gold star.
The Rescuers
I told you, I love movies about rodents.
The Rescuers Down Under
A rare instance where the sequel was even better.
The Fox and the Hound
That one scene where the lady leaves Todd at the reserve wrecked me completely.  I cannot watch it without crying.  Not a few tears, a deluge.
Bambi
The way this movie depicts forest life using movement, color and music:  heart breaking just like Fox and the Hound, so they're close together on the list because in my mind they have similar themes.
Moana
Anything involving the ocean is awesome in my book.  Except The Little Mermaid, but that is a story about a merfolk who would prefer to be on land.  Um, no.
Raya and the Last Dragon
This movie was compelling to say the least.  And the father-daughter relationship is central to the plot, but every development in the story is thoughtful and the pacing is stellar.  I love it.
Encanto
The close-knit family, the amazing music, and the main character, Mirabel.  Disney, you knocked it out of the park.
Lady and the Tramp
"He's a tramp, but they love him.  Breaks a new heart every day.  He's a tramp.  I adore him.  And I wish that he would travel this way."  Yet this tramp met a lady who he could not ignore, not neglect, he cared about her well-being.  Isn’t that an epic storyline?
The Aristocats
Those kittens: all three are adorable.  Duchess is a quintessential lady, just like her owner.  Thomas is suave and yet he cares.  The geese are just the best.  Let's not forget the lawyer: that scene on the staircase is everything.  Edger is an idiot, but he comes by his just deserts.  And then there's Roquefort, the alley cats, Frou Frou, the two dogs.  Did I forget anybody?  Maurice Chevalier sings to opening title song, and there's a man who pours out his wine after seeing a mouse chase cats.  I think that's everybody.  What synergy this movie has.  NO wonder I love it so much.
Dumbo
I have to confess that stories about mothers and their children speak to me, move me, and reach into my chest and squeeze my heart and its strings.  And Timothy is just such a good friend!
Beauty and the Beast
Our heroine is a bookworm who is misunderstood yet beautiful so she catches the attention of a bully and a misogynist.  She sacrifices her freedom to rescue her father.  She learns that her captor has a heart.  Of all the classic "Disney princess" tales, this one is on another level.
Tangled
This is not just a run-of-the-mill love story.  The love story is amazing, don't get me wrong.  But the story is about a girl who only knows one person, and she thinks this person loves her, and wants what is best for her, but that person only cares about how she can use this girl.  It is the story of escape from an abuser.  It is a must-see Disney movie.
The Emperor's New Groove
Now this was a story where the main character is completely unlikeable in the beginning, and over the course of the movie he changes and progresses and you begin rooting for him, except, it's done right: with humor.  A lot of humor.  No room for cheesiness, the movie mocks itself, and its self-deprecation is refreshing.
Lilo and Stitch
I keep putting certain movies close to one another that have a similar emotional response from me.  Stitch is a monster.  A cute one, but he is destructive and rough.  Lilo is amazing, yet a bit bratty.  And then you find out why.  She and her sister have experienced loss, and they are coping as best they can.  With such a theme, there is nothing trite, the story doesn't gloss over the painful parts.  It is funny yet wise, over the top, yet profound.
Zootopia
A fox and a rabbit: an unlikely duo.  Yet you end up shipping them.  And the point of the story is to remind us that we should not label one another.  A vital lesson to teach our kids.
Wreck-It Ralph
And on the theme of  not judging one another, a supposed "bad guy" befriends a supposed "glitch" and hijinks ensue.  "I'm bad, but that's good, I will never be good, and that's not bad, there is no one I would rather be than me."  Gets me every time.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
I remember seeing the trailer for this film, and I could not contain my excitement.  I love drama, I love underdogs, I love overcoming prejudice.  I can watch this movie over and over.  It's a masterpiece.
Mulan
A strong female lead: one of my first encounters with this concept.  Again, I remember the trailer.  I wanted to see that movie so badly, and when I did, I was thrilled, hooked, overawed with Mulan and her courage.

Tsukasa felt something terrible crawl on his spine. He turns around slowly to see....
Kirby: Poyo.
Lovekov: Rabu.
Anya: Anya is here. Wah!
Baymax: Hello. I am Baymax.
Lucas the Spider: Hewwo.
Emu, Takeru, and Gentaro: Awww... Wholesome and Cute Squad.
Tsukasa: Who is disgusting pink ball of danger?
Daiki: You mean yourself...
Tsukasa: Shut UP! I'm talking about Kirby here!
Kirby: Poyo. Poyo. ☺️😊😄
Tsukasa: Stay back demon...
Kirby: Poyo. *hands Mouthful Kirby cake* Hiii.
Tuskasa: Uhhh... thanks. Wait a minute... You're trying to trick me into eating it. It's like that one episode of SpongeBob with the Pie Bomb. Yeet! *chucks as far as he can then explodes*
Kirby: Poyo.
Tsukasa: It's on... pinky.
What are Rider's reaction to Kirby's hatred for Tsukasa?
Why is literally anyone still surprised at this point... He incites irritation in all he meets because he behaves like this.
Emu would be doubly pissed though because of course he's a big Kirby fan- he's a specialist in platform games, after all. Mama Emu's wrath will be unleashed and it ain't pretty

Finally finished watching Baymax! and my feelings on the episodes range between being horrified to being in love lol.
Starting with the one that I really didn't like: Kiko. Which is a shame because I expected that one to be my favorite!! The thing is, Baymax's "aggressive cuddly" really rubbed me the wrong way in that ep. She made it clear she didn't want medical assistance, he pushed her multiple times, got wayyyy past her boundaries, probably hurt her once or twice (namely the water hose!), and tricked her into going to the pool center. Even if her issue really was phobia, she had EVERY RIGHT to say no. There are other types of physiotherapy beyond hydrotherapy and you don't have to get over your phobia if you don't want to. Even if it's not trauma but grief, she also has no *need* to share it or force herself to get over her grief in regards to that place. Sometimes you really do stop going places you enjoyed bc of the person you lost and that's okay. She literally just didn't leave because she was physically unable to do it. And while ofc it helped her and most of it was played for laughs, I was. so angry tbh. I'm a doctor and if my patient says no or refuses medical treatment/assistance IT IS VERY MUCH THEIR RIGHT TO DO SO. Not to mention how it bugs me personally that Baymax's programming didn't give Kiko a choice. I'd be wanting to pop him as much as she did! She almost injured herself trying to make him stop!
Aunt Cass's episode bordered that line for me, but that actually felt wholesome most of the time. Baymax is a part of her family so I can get behind the shenanigans... But as much as I want, I cant force my family members to do things they can't when it comes to their health. Believe me, I want to just pick them up and make them do the things that are good for their health too! I get it lmao. I probably would have thought the episode was just fine if Baymax didn't force her to go up every time, and instead just caught or chastised Cass when he saw her after the first few times (Cass just waving him off as he keeps telling her she needs to rest works just as well with the story and Cass can y'know. Not be manhandled around). Still, it was a really sweet episode that I'll enjoy watching again, unlike Kiko.
Mbita's and Yachi's were pretty middle of the road-- perfectly good eps. The action in Mbita's felt a little forced imo, but I enjoyed seeing a little of Big Hero 6!Baymax in that ep! Yachi's was more wholesome, though the making of the fake rat part took me out of it lol. Still enjoyed them tho!
The last ep is probably my favorite, though in terms of Baymax just doing what he was meant to do, Sofia's was easily the best. Baymax didn't push her at all, helped her with her period-- something she actually wanted help with, and didn't try to drag her out of her little hideout because "its normal so you can continue with your daily routine". He made her feel more confident in herself, and was overall perfect. Definitely glad this one is getting the love it deserves! I love that he takes care of her physical problem and the emotional impact it has on her- I had some lovely teachers in med school (really wish they weren't the minority OTL) that hammered into my head that the patient is more than just the illness, you have to look at them as more than just a body with a problem to be fixed, and instead as a PERSON who needs your HELP. 10/10 episode.
Overall a really cute series, which I hope gets a sequel! Just more eps like Sofia's and less like Kiko's, pls <3

this is corny but here goes lol... I got my first period at age eleven, which is a little on the early side and even though my mom and I had talked about periods before I was still horrified when I got mine, I would say my family is very open with talking about periods and stuff and this was still my experience. I was at my aunt's house and wouldn't even tell her at first, I told my cousin and she convinced me to let me aunt know but all I would let her do was whisper into my aunt's ear 😭 for a whole year I forbade ANYONE from letting my dad know lmfao... at school I was already ashamed of my body since I had started puberty earlier than everyone else to begin with. I would spend half an hour in the bathroom waiting for it to be completely clear because I was terrified that someone would HEAR me opening up a menstrual pad... so Turning Red and Baymax talking about periods is really cute. small victories and all but y'know I'm happy for kids today in that regard.

OSRR: 2908
today was long.
started like normal. woke up showered dressed brought joel to work. stopped at starbucks, cleaned out my car of the trash that'd been rolling around and pissing me off. threw it out.
stopped and talked to my supervisor about a few things including a few extra hours, coming in to talk about career things, and running january's math boot camp that the school does before every semester. like hell yeah.
today was another registration event, and like last time i was the repository of information that needed to be there. we helped a bunch of people before i had to go off to help in class. not much happened in class, but i did end up being the most technologically savvy person in the room, again. it's weird.
after class and helping a few students a little longer, i went back to the library to help out more, back at my station. i was there until 4:30, when i left to get joel.
joel got out a little late and we zoomed home so i could hop on for class at 5:50. i hadn't gotten to do the reading really, so i did the best i could, and it was a really good class. it's small enough that we just talk instead of having a structured powerpoint to go through like you do in bigger classes, so that's nice. my professor said i had excellent points in my commentary. so i'm happy about that.
after class i went and got myself thai food that i'd been craving for like two weeks. i also stopped at mcnaldos for sprite and ice cream, and i came back and watched baymax! on disney+. it's really super duper cute. i then found a show on netflix called spycraft and i watched the episode about recruiting the perfect spy, which is what we talked about in class. i kinda did the readings by watching that episode. it was cool.
anyway, im in bed now and i'm v tired so i'm hoping to get some good sleep tonight, even though that chance is pretty slim. love heartburn. sad.

Highs and Lows
What's the Tea? Tuesday
This week was largely uneventful, I hate to say. No real interesting new conversations or anything, just a few boring dudes.
I honestly have no memory of Sunday. Is it possible I just didn't do a fucking thing all day?
Tumblr media
Monday I worked on my murder mystery some more while watching Swipe Right play some games, and then that night was when I stayed up too late and got slammed with Baymax-related sadness. I'm doing much better now, thank you for asking. The whole thing was exhausting, but I guess the good part is I don't have to spend energy holding out hope for that anymore.
Tumblr media
Tuesday I got to hang out with friends and go do fun activities. Futuristic Korean restaurant, Central Market bakery overload, Bob the Drag Queen makeup tutorial videos, cat cuddles, late night Taco Bell.
Tumblr media
Wednesday I ate cake in bed while watching Stranger Things and worked on some paintings that turned out pretty well. I've been doing a lot more art lately and it feels good. I like doing illustration but I feel bad just copying existing art and I don't have any original ideas, so I've started painting based on photos I've taken.
Tumblr media
Thursday Cuddlebug came to pick me up, and for whatever reason I changed clothes like 6 times before he got there. This is a ridiculous habit.
The man owns 4 shirts and he thinks I look cute no matter what; I really do not need to try so hard.
On this week's "What did I forget to pack?" segment, we've got...a hairbrush. Could be worse, I suppose. Better than the week I forgot to pack flats.
Tumblr media
We spent a pretty low-key night at home. After dark we took a walk around the neighborhood, which was actually nice and also allowed me to hatch some eggs in Pokemon Go.
Cuddlebug made us some delicious pasta for dinner, which we watched while we started Squid Game - neither of us had seen it, somehow.
Then when it was bedroom time we finally started Rick and Morty. Background: I had zero interest in the show when it came out, and at some point after maybe the first two seasons, Dr. Strangelove started bugging me to watch it with him. I was very clear that I did not want to. He made me watch the first episode anyway, and because I didn't want to, I didn't enjoy it at all. And I've just been negative on it ever since.
Tumblr media
Recently, though, my friends have been recommending it. So this time around, I really liked it. I was surprised at the number of voice actors I recognized, which is nice.
Sidebar:
Old and Busted: When I had started going to counseling to try to work through some of my childhood stuff, Dr. Strangelove had persuaded me to start watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and he was really excited to watch this one particular episode that he said was hilarious. It was the end of season 1 (S1E7: Charlie Got Molested), an episode in which Mac is mad because everyone else got molested by a particular priest as a kid, and he didn't (because he was fat, I think?). Dr. Strangelove didn't understand why I didn't think it was funny.
New Hotness: Cuddlebug paused an episode of Rick and Morty (S1E5: Meeseeks and Destroy) before it started to warn me about a scene of attempted pedophilia - which was only like 2 minutes long and not played for laughs.
Tumblr media
Friday was a busy day. We ran a couple errands early in the day, and then Cuddlebug went to work for a little while. But not before having this conversation:
Cuddlebug: "Do you want to ride around in the car with me for an hour while I do work stuff?"
Me: "God no."
*Later*
Cuddlebug: "You ready for a 5-hour drive to my mom's house in a month?"
Me: "Absolutely!"
Cuddlebug: "I DON'T UNDERSTAND YOU!"
I'm an enigma, what can I say?
Once he got off work we had dinner with some friends at this diner he's been dying to try. It was pretty good! I got a burger that was slathered with horseradish and would have been better if it were not, but that's my own fault for ordering the burger/not asking them to leave it off. The restaurant was like 6 four-top tables, so it was basically like if someone hosted a pop-up diner in your living room.
The thing that made me the happiest was that one of the items on the menu was a club sandwich called the Hedberg.
Tumblr media
This made my comedy-loving heart very happy.
After dinner we got to hang out and play board games, argue about how Cuddlebug is secretly racist and doesn't know how to use language, do some Switch Sports, and make a Kroger run for very necessary pie.
Cuddlebug: "Is the Sleepytime tea gonna knock me out or just make me a little sleepy?"
Friend: "It'll make you a little sleepy."
Me: "I guess it depends on your constitution."
Cuddlebug: "My CON is a solid 14."
Nerd.
Tumblr media
Saturday he went to work and got to pick some of his 40k figurines [editor's note: "ummmmm actually, they're minis, not figurines" he says] up from the painter. I made dinner, but not before more arguing about where you're supposed to store produce.
Me: "Where did you put my onion?"
Cuddlebug: "In the fridge."
Me: "In the fridge???"
*one disagreement later*
Me: Where do you put tomatoes?
Cuddlebug: "In the fridge."
Me: "You're so weird."
Cuddlebug: "Most people put tomatoes in the fridge.
Me: "I -"
Cuddlebug: "Excuse me, most Americans put tomatoes in the fridge.
Me: "Then they're wrong!
Cuddlebug: "Then I'm wrong, but not weird.
Me: "You can be both!"
He keeps saying he wants to argue, so fuck it. It's on now.
Tumblr media
That night after dinner we were watching Squid Game and I started falling asleep (at like...9 pm?) so we went to bed. And then woke up at around 12:45 am. Ugh. Cuddlebug also woke up, so we had some super cuddles and watched a couple episodes of Rick and Morty, after which he went to sleep and I stayed awake until 7:30 am. It was dumb. Sleeping is dumb.
Tomorrow I've got some interesting stuff to slow you...

send me asks.
1. Pronouns🦉 → he/him, but they/them is fine! 4. Dream job 👜 → hard to say right now, i’ve always wanted to perform in an orchestra and a film orchestra but right now i’m considering going on to do something with my sociology degree and get a masters of science in music therapy 5. Favorite drink ☕️ → i could always go for a good iced coffee or an iced matcha latte. basically any summery drink or juice works, no matter the season! 10. Cute movie 🎥 → big hero 6!! not only was it on my mind when writing this, but just that incredible scene with a trans man telling baymax about his favorite pads fucking warms my heart as a fellow trans man ;o; 17. The ideal temperature 🐫 → around room temperature is fine, maybe a little more on the chilly side. anything higher though is usually a no-go 28. Who is your (real life) hero? 🦊 → i gotta be honest, i don’t really know? i basically idolize everyone who’s inspired me, including teachers, professors, friends, and even celebrities i look up to. it’s difficult to pick just one! 37. Favorite fruit 🥭 → it depends on my mood, but i usually pick between pineapple and cantaloupe. they’re so watery and juicy and sweet and they feel like they melt in my mouth whenever i eat it 39. Favorite streaming service 🍂 → probably netflix. i have a hulu account as well with the student discount and i’m watching ftwd there with my mom, but it kinda sucks cuz with the student discount you still get ads (boo).
