JOTAHAN FANWORKS IS A03???
I DONT KNOW HOW TO USE THE WEBSITE SO LIKEE-
CAN U LINK SOME OF THEM
A fellow Jotahan enjoyer is DESPERATE for the crumbs. The time has come, I shall unveil my true nature in order to lend you a hand. We'll survive this together, Anon!
Ohhh boy, where to even begin. I know the bewildering absolute lack of fanart out there and my comment about crumbs might sound discouraging, and could make it seem like a worse situation than it actually is. But do not fret! AO3 got ur back! (I must apologise in advance for rambling, but honestly many of these fics are amazing and I owe their writers my life. Feel free to scroll down to the bit where I put the links to fics, lists, and authors that sometimes carry this ship on their backs).
I'm gonna list a bunch that I've recently been bookmarking in the website, as part of my months long personal crusade to read every single Jotahan work up there, and I'm kinda halfway through now I think, so I've got the stuff. Currently, there's a total of 393 Jotahan fics on the Archive, not all of them are the best quality, naturally, but that's okay, because the good fics are— and I'm gonna stress this out— The. Shit. Some Jotahan writers are wonderful masters of their craft, to the point you'll most likely eventually forget that, canonically, Rohan and Jotaro barely even exhange a few words in the first place! There is utterly delightful, suuuch delectable material here; fics that made the ship for me and elevated it from lol funny crackship to one of my top tier favorite romances/relationships of all time, in all of media, period.
You'd think, initially, that authors have to do some crazy acrobatics to settle on how they'd go about fulfilling the task of feeding dying starving suckers like me; how they'd go about making a relationship between these characters believable and feasible. But! surprisingly, there have come to be actual tropes in Jotahan narratives, stemming from how oddly natural their dynamic flows when you just give it some thought. My brain decided to conclude one day, that this is sorta like stepping into different possibilities of how Rohan and Jotaro would hit it up, because some fics can be quite similar in their approaches, but nonetheless distinctive and remarkable all the same. These characters can work SO well together, for better or worse, that there's no questioning it anymore for me. You'll understand, or maybe not (maybe you already do) but regardless I think you'll have fun checking these out!
So without further ado, and before I go on an errand of an essay about how this ship deserves more love and attention than it gets, I'm gonna drop the links. I know AO3 can look messy or be intimidating for people who are not familiar with the interface, but the first thing that will come in handy is knowing about pairing tags: your typical character/character tag that is often the first one you see following the title of a fic. If its got the characters of your preference, click on it, and you'll be sent to all the works in the Archive that feature that tag . You can start browsing for goodies from there! here's the tag to the huge assortment of fics starring the couple of mildly disfunctional adults that we want to see together.
And here is a lil bit of my latest (on-going) effort to build up a personal list of favorites and must-reads:
Underneath Perfection by Shorktooth ; I'm gonna be biased, because this one right here is my absolute. favorite. Nothing comes close. I'm even getting a little emotional by barely thinking about it. Actually, not entirely sure, but it was the fic that first sold me on this pairing when I wanted to give it a chance. Get-together fic, fairly long but definitely worth it. Not tedious, very fun, lots of variety, lots of incredibly sweet moments, it's a good deal all around. Of course there are little details here and there that keep it from being perfect, but they're minor and insignificant when viewing the whole picture. Much respect for how the author handles these characters, the progression of events, the story's pacing, and overall how organic everything feels; how natural. There are a bunch of scenes that have been embedded in my mind for months, and bits of dialogue I even reference and feel are strongly akin to what Jotaro or Rohan would actually say, even if this is fanwork. Okay, okay, I'll stop here because I'm saving my final thoughts for when I finish reading this story; Stone Ocean's animated adaptation must reach its end first. This fic follows Rohan and Jotaro across parts 4 to 6 of JJBA, so if anyone's avoiding spoilers they might have to be wary of those, skip this fic, or put it on hold like I did. Can't wait for part 6 to be over so I can get back to this work lmao. Its ending will probably crush me and be painful as hell but I don't care
How Soon Is Now? by Morioh-Cho-Radio (crimsonherbarium) ; Listen, one cannot talk about Jotahan fanfiction without mentioning "How Soon Is Now?". Underneath Perfection is my personal favorite no questions asked, but this series??? this is a must-read. Mandatory almost. Fuck, I haven't even gotten past the first three or four works in this collection but I tell you it's amazing (forever saving the rest for when I have the time to sit down and immerse myself into it because it is that special). It's got 10 single chapter stories in total, varying in lenght. Crimsonherbarium is one of those authors that manage to rightfully appropiate these characters and what they're about; nothing feels out of place, and the writing is just *chef kiss* it is thoroughly polished and hooks me in instantly, every single time. This fanfic even has its own playlist! and the songs selection, both for it and the fic titles, I think is fitting as hell for Jotahan, what else can I say?? read this series. go go go!!! have a feast!!
oh i know (it goes on, it gets old) by theultimateburrito ; Oh man... this one is something else. Is its own thing, I believe. Single chapter, kind of a long read, but you'll be enthralled. Feels like a novel, and it's not ncesarily out there, romantically speaking. The words I'm looking for to describe it are subtlety, and patience. It's a very unique short story that features comfortable company, familiarity, introspection, Rohan being his insatiably curious self, and one intriguing mystery that sounds straight out of Araki's work. I won't spoil it, but there's a particular place that I didn't even know existed irl until I read this fic and that on itself is maddeningly funny to me.
Now, some improvised picks of mine, done in speedreading fashion, because I've read too many works by now and can't actually think of what to put in here (keeping this list relatively brief and simple was more difficult than I thought). A list consisting of short stories to pick up on the go, separated by the general feeling I get from them:
Short and sweet:
Art Kids by anarchaick ; mild parallels made between Rohan and Noriaki, as well as Jotakak mentions are quite common. How these affect the mood of the story or the nature of Rohan and Jotaro's relationship is up to the fic, but in this one that is simply heartwarming
old recipe, new need by bishounen_curious ; this one's a sickfic, and it encapsulates some aspects of their dynamic SO well. I love this ficlet. It's all in the details, and the Domesticity
Ecotone by kujo (curricle) ; please read this one. That's it just read it. It is plain, bitesized perfection
the loneliest whale by pinkdarkboy ; wholesome, cute, and works as a comfort story
Short and steamy (not necesarily explicit):
Falling In Love by Kinda sad this one's by an orphan account :') regardless, it is a great read
Short and angsty/bittersweet:
It Is What It Is by illmoure ; .... sigh. Conflicting feelings about this one, but because it is an incredible work expertly written to achieve that purpose. Also, last Jotahan fic (yet...?) by one of the BEST writers for this ship. I'll later just drop a link to them directly
Save the speeches, flowers are for funerals by Morioh-Cho-Radio (crimsonherbarium) ; Hanahaki disease, I eat that shit up. It is the perfect combination of angst and romantic yearning, and as it is to be expected from this fic's writer here, this is another banger.
Short and funny:
useless questions by bishounen_curious ; weed shenanigans. It's pretty humorous, but that isn't mutually exclusive with tenderness, or physical intimacy. Therefore, I was torn between putting this one under the Short And Steamy category, but the first half is fairly hilarious on its own right so, yeah.
the death of kishibe rohan (1999, colorized) by oredatte ; Rohan being ridiculous, give it a read if you're looking for pure absurdity. Just satire here, and a bit of second-hand embarrasment
Short AU ficlets that are really nice:
A Sort of Homecoming by Morioh-Cho-Radio (crimsonherbarium) ; Japanese folklore inspired, in which Rohan is a yokai inhabiting a long abandoned place that belongs to Jotaro's family. I JUST noticed the fic was temporarily removed, but I read it long ago and still remember how beautiful it was. Actually, anything written by Morioh-Cho-Radio is absolute gold. ... pssst, you can still find this story via the Wayback Machine, but you didn't hear it from me—
Beyond the Sea by illmoure ; Mermay fic :) Marine Biologist Kujo Jotaro has a fascinating encounter. This one's just straight up lovely and refreshing
tears of heliades by pinkdarkboy ; inspired by the tale of Pygmalion and Galatea from Greek mythology
I was planning on listing authors who deserve way more than a honorable mention, but the post was getting too long, and I simply find it hard to rush a selection like that. Maybe some other time? Although, definitely do check out some of the writers whose work has already been featured above!
Oof.... Being honest, there are many more titles I wish I could just gather in one place but I haven't had the time yet. This pairing has provided me with an endless amount of comfort, besides being mostly a what-if scenario, but it quickly turned just as important to me as the source material it came from. Fanfiction can feel just as valid and impactful as media published by conventional means, and I'll think about these stories from here on out, long after I found them. I'll think of these characters, and the silly little made up reality in my head where they're genuinely happy, finding comfort and a safe space with each other, growing and developing with time, and it'll make me smile like a total fool. I really don't mind that in the slightest 🎶

The twitter mess has got me thinking about livejournal and fandom platforms in general, so here’s a lot of words that mostly amount to me being old and sad!!
The past couple years I’ve really struggled with the pull to start using twitter because so much fandom activity moved over there, while at the same time being held back by knowing that it would not be a satisfying experience for me. I lurk there a little, and it’s alright in small doses, but it just doesn’t work for the types of fandom posts that I can contribute or that I want to see. And it has increasingly frustrated me how much people post fanart exclusively over there when its formatting is awful for fanart (no archives! no organized tagging system! completely unbrowseable by subject matter or time period! everything disappears in .02 seconds if it even crosses your view at all! WOW SO GREAT. I get that it lets you post porn but that isn’t a big draw for me :/ yeah, I know, what am I even doing on the internet)
My preferred form of fandom is images and graphics and art and long-form commentary and twitter just isn’t made for those things. You can kind of jury-rig it for them I guess (weirdly cropped 2-to-4-image photosets, hmm. great. threaded tweets??? you know there was a time when you could put all your related thoughts into a single post!) but it’s obviously designed for brief little texts and I’m too self-conscious about writing things for that to ever work for me. The way I see it is you can absolutely tweet on tumblr but you cannot make a tumblr post on twitter, and that’s the fundamental disconnect that has prevented me from leaving. I’m not compelled to go to a platform with fewer and worse features. (well, that plus the fact that I no longer have any friends to follow in the way that I followed the crowd from livejournal to tumblr. why bother!!! NOBODY’S LISTENING! —Cassian Andor about posting on social media)
I totally understand people mourning what could be the loss of years of fandom activity on that site, but at the same time its immediacy has always made it appear more fleeting to me anyway. Obviously you can scrounge up old posts if you really dig around, but without archives or functional tags it has never seemed to be a platform that encourages a long lifespan for anything posted there. Which is of course the trade-off for it being so current and of-the-moment, but I also think it’s detrimental to the fandom ecosystem as a whole, and on a personal level I’m too much of a hoarder for that kind of disposability to work for me. I like to keep things in my little treasure trove and continually pore over it with fondness. :(
I also just have too much anxiety, uh, in general, but especially with instantaneous forms of communication, so I get extremely avoidant about anything fast-paced. Chats always made me nervous, I don’t like texting, it all makes me a little too frazzled to do for fun. I was okay with message boards and lj comments because there wasn’t as much expectation of a quick response (and of course there was way more separation of Internet Time when you didn’t have a smartphone on you 24/7. boundaries!!!! never heard of them). A lot of this is purely mental hangups because I’m perfectly capable of communication, but it’s stressful and exhausting and the internet is filled with increasing pressure to never say the wrong thing (which is already a pressure in my head!!) so to add forced brevity and urgency on top of that... it makes me so uncomfortable and it’s such an enormous barrier when the foundation for literally everything is communication. Words are hard!!! I’m not terrible at it but there’s always an excessive amount of deliberation involved and it’s such a difficult thing to grapple with all the time. Constantly, forever. The mortifying ordeal of SELECTING WORDS to make yourself known!!!!!!!
I guess also nothing has ever been as conducive to discussion and replies as lj. Tumblr replies are so limited and reblogging to add your own commentary is a totally different thing. Private messages are there, but there’s no decent mechanism for open back-and-forth conversation. So even while part of me is glad that people might come back here, more activity on my preferred platform doesn’t change the fact that I still feel dissatisfied with the way all of this operates in general. Tumblr is better than twitter, but even tumblr isn’t that great.
To be honest I’ve become so fuckin weird about this stuff that I now essentially use google docs like a private secret livejournal. I type out my thoughts constantly as though I were writing an actual post to share and then I never share it. Which is probably. insane. But in the era of social media all fandom stuff either seems like way too public a forum full of jerks or it’s seen by nobody anyway so why bother. There don’t seem to be comfortable niche spaces anymore, or if there are I never found them, and besides that I’m too shy and too tired to seek them out and work up the energy to interact. So I just talk to myself like a lunatic. It’s super healthy I’m sure!!!!
I also just really miss how I felt on the internet and in fandom spaces when I was younger, making pointless little websites and graphics and posting photographs just because I wanted to. And obviously I still make things because I WANT to, but the act of actually posting to the internet now and the way that others engage with it seems so much more transactional than it used to. I got into making graphics when it was only like a handful of people on a message board sharing things with each other, and it’s wild how much more fulfilling and encouraging it was to have just a few familiar people make comments than it is to get likes and reblogs. A little number ticker on a post is like... that’s it? That’s all there is? It’s so hollow and mechanical.
Sort of the best way I can think of to describe how it feels to me is that it used to be more like being the proprietor of a quaint storefront where you peddled your wares and people could come and go and chat as they please, and now it’s more like tossing one of your wares onto a highway where it gets driven over at 80mph. And certainly that perception is skewed by rose-colored nostalgia about ~the way things used to be~, I’m much older now so I’m sure my temperament has changed a lot too, I slowed down while everything else sped up, time makes fools of us all, etc. But I’ve seen enough people express similar things about the modern internet that I do think maybe it’s not just me.
I don’t know, unless you’ve been following me since livejournal this probably all sounds like nonsense coming from a silent lurker who barely even posts. I’ve always been much more reticent on tumblr because it feels so exposed—the potential for things to spiral way outside of your orbit is both scary and annoying. But I guess I just don’t really know how to participate in fandom anymore in the way it exists now. I don’t have a community and it feels impossible to break back in amongst The Youths. I don’t have the energy to contribute as much as I want to, and then when I do expend the energy it seems like a waste of time because it’s stuff that either goes entirely unseen or it gets silently viewed and disposed of in an infinitesimal fraction of the time it took to put together. So there are these two warring impulses of: this is making you unhappy and you should stop vs. it doesn’t matter if you’re entirely alone when you’re still having fun by yourself with your special interest that you enjoy. And I don’t know how to reconcile the two.

I have a zine project that I'm creating and currently taking preorders for. Keep reading for more info or go straight to my website for the TL;DR version to get straight to ordering.
Let me tell you about them!
So, it’s been nearly 4 years since my last publication, "Black Coffee" which was a collection of digital illustrations made its debut at Coffee Prose (local coffee shop in my area) and I’ve decided that it was time to release a new zine collection.
"gentle force, "The Painter", and "Lily Pad Tales" are all projects that have been simmering in the background for a while and each has its own unique flavor to bring to the table.
Each zine 8.5x5.5” so they can be a travel companion on your daily commute if you want them to be. The pre-ordered zines will also come with a poster and other extra special goodies as a thank you for supporting this project at the early stages.
Individually the zines are $15 each but the zine combo pack, aka "the best deal" gets you all of the zines and the extra goodies for $40.
Plus! All pre-orders ship for free!
Pre-ordering will end this coming Saturday, April 22nd at 11:59 p.m. central time so be sure to get yours quickly.
If you have any questions, feel free to message me!
Thank you again for your curiosity and support of this project!
I'm looking forward to getting it to you!
-Justin
"gentle force" is a travel sized coloring book that is perfect for a boost of creativity on the go. This coloring book features character designs, slice of life visual stories, food, quotes, and other feel-good imagery to help unwind from a long day or relax after a more stressful than usual one. This coloring book is safe for all ages.
There is a NSFW version of this coloring book that has all the feel-good imagery of the safe version but with some added spice not suitable for all ages.
The characters find themselves in more adult situations all in the name of having fun and enjoying life.
"The Painter" is the first chapter of what could possibly become an ongoing digital comic project. The story was collaboratively created via Instagram live with stream viewers adding suggestions in real time. This chapter follows a young man and his mentor as they take the first steps on his artistic journey. Will the project continue?
The zine also contains other short comics that are a bit random but connect in retrospect.
This zine is meant as a comic but you’re encouraged to use it as a coloring book as well.
“Lily Pad Tales” is a collection of short stories, poems, short comics, and visual art with interactive elements that reach beyond the boarders of it pages. This zine may become a longer series depending on what I find in the vast archive of materials on my external hard drives. Expect randomness, heartfelt moments, and organized chaos.
"Zine Combo Pack"
Hey! So, I hear that you like a good deal. Well, here’s one for you! All three of my new zines, hot off the presses with free shipping because you decided to save money and support the artist making a heartfelt project all in one go!

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey everybody! I officially have a website up and running at https://tachyonart.neocities.org/index.html. This is now the best place to get a good overview of my art or to contact me. I'm also creating a monthly newsletter that will give roundup of all my art each month as I will probably only update the site occasionally to reflect big projects I've completed or to showcase pieces I'm especially proud of. There's a signup form on the site or you can follow this link: https://tinyletter.com/tachyonart
Long-term (like, years down the line) I will likely try to remove myself from social media partially or entirely. While it's useful to me for the time being and I've met a lot of cool people through social media sites, I generally have a negative opinion of them and the effect they have on users and the public at large. So if you want to see what I'm doing years into the future or want to get off social media yourself, maybe take a minute to bookmark the site or sign up for the newsletter.
Thanks for sticking around and I hope you'll stick with me going forward!

26 for Lukanette WIPs please. :)
26. Party Crasher!Luka
I FUCKED UP AND JUST WROTE IT I GUESS???
Party Crasher
-Lukanette oneshot
“You mean to tell me Agreste ditched you? After all that pleading to let him take you to the party for your successful launch line for next season, he’s ditched you?”
“Kagami, don’t kill him.”
“Fine, remind me why I can’t though? This is such an ass move of his if he’s trying to prove he’s the one for you.”
“Because,” Marinette grits out, faking a toothy smile to a work couple that waves from passing, “I want to castrate and kill him myself.”
Kagami laughs roughly in surprise, “Why the castration?”
“So I can fit his small ass into the tightest pair of skinny jeans we have for our tall teenage girls.” The not so stoic girl sips on her wine, pleased with her friend’s rage. “I told him I haven’t been interested since we were 14, but him thinking I’ll forgive him if I even had a silver of interest in dating him? Fuck him.”
“Or,” Kagami drawls, long nails tapping the stem of her glass as she leans to peer over her friend’s shoulder, “You could fuck him instead?”
Mari gasps in offense, “I am NOT trying for a one night stand, no matter what you guys say.”
“No, you little mouse,” she admonishes, fully heartedly agreeing with the sentiment, “I just mean your big and handsome protective snake is here to save the day.”
Marinette’s mind took a second longer to click the pieces together, trying to make sense of Kagami’s nicknames for her friend group, before her heart thudded and she slowly turned.
There, passing by the models who had walked in Marinette’s designs and batted their false lashes at the rockstar, was Luka Couffaine.
Dressed to the nines in a very punk like and sophisticated way that revealed he very much wanted to impress her and did in fact listen to her fashion advice. Black skinny jeans only he could pull off, high top converse and a white button up with a black vest to overlay it. The cheeky and handsome bastard forgoing the tie to leave one too many buttons undone and his sleeves rolled up to reveal his tattoos.
Oh, on the life of his cat Sass was she proud of him.
And maybe drooling just a little?
He approached her, a sly smile working its way to his lips as he eyed her up and down, eyes shining bright at her black low cocktail that she paired with navy blue heels.
So maybe she sometimes used Luka as a whole for inspiration.
He raised a hand, finger wrapping around a loose curled tendril out of an elegantly messy low bun, “I thought it was the models you were supposed to make the stars of the show.”
“Had I known you were gonna show up, I would’ve worn one of my bests here.”
His hand froze, “This isn’t your best? You tease,” he broke out in a grin. His hand moved further, thumbing at the collection of piercings in her ear he accompanied her with to get years ago. “God, you’re so fucking beautiful.”
“Well, I’m suddenly glad I can only acknowledge this as awkward and not feel it.” Kagami noted into her class. Her phone buzzed, electing a sigh from her as she began turning. “Have fun, my mother decided to remind me why this wine was a good idea to have before she came.”
She watched her friend walk away, her other -her best friend and other half, remained taking her in and stroking the soft spot under her ear he once claimed with a mark-
The one time they admitted their crushes and strong attraction towards the other the night before he left for tour years ago.
It was the only time Luka had indulged himself in his wants and desires, the only time he had asked to and still provided her with an out. And now he still remains far off in her memories, even as he stands in front of her with that look on his face years later.
“How did you,” she swallows when his soft gaze flicks back up to her eyes with his full attention. “How did you get in? It’s a ticket only event.”
He shrugged, turning to offer her an arm and walk around. “I may or may not have seen Adrien’s post about his mom and dad going to a gala event and him going to see his cousin there. Seems like that took precedence I guess.”
Marinette huffed low, “Félix has been in town for three weeks. Adrien and I had lunch with him the other day.”
Luka stilled as a busboy stopped in front of them, offering them glasses of champagne. Luka’s nose twitched, then his lip as he turned away with a polite smile. Marinette shook her head in turn as well.
“You know you don’t have to pass just because of me, right?”
“Hey, we do this ‘young 20 some year olds unable to drink alcohol’ in solidarity together.” He cracked a smile at that, “Soda is my alcohol.”
“Alright, you can be an honorary member of the alcohol intolerance club.” Luka laughed when she hummed gleefully. “Dork.”
“Nerd.”
“So, back on topic, Adrien just really had no excuse then?”
“Ha, no, even his dad stopped by an hour ago to congratulate me and get press photos done to promote the line. All his son did for me was send a text with a sad face attached to his cancellation.”
“... I can kick his ass, you know?”
“I know, I’m just saving for a rainy day.” She laughed, stepping closer to his side and wrapping both arms around his. “So, the ticket, you party crasher.”
“Right, yeah, I may or may not have called your assistant earlier today to swipe it. I took a guess that she held onto it for safe keeping so-,”
“She’s new, I’m not surprised she just gave it up that easily.” She let Luka guide her into a dance. One hand with painted black holding hers to his chest, the other gently tugging to hold his shoulder before he held her waist.
“Oh, that, that explains a lot now.”
“What?”
He flinched, a nervous glint flashing across his features. “I may or may not have lied about who exactly I was since she didn’t know my name-,”
“Doesn’t listen to your music, already told her the sin she was committing.”
“And who I was to you, specifically-,”
Marinette tilted her head back in a laugh, Luka’s arm tightening to brace her weight, “You said you were my husband, didn’t you?”
He flushes at a memory of once getting a creep off her back a year ago by claiming that very title to her.
“Erm, no, I said I was your boyfriend and may have sold it by saying some pet name and swooning over you just a little,” he watched her eyes go wide then soft, a smile twitching to show. He stepped closer, almost pulling her flush to him, “But if that’s what you want, I can go out and get some marriage certificate?”
She flushed, lips parting and a rush of air passing them.
“Maybe call Jagged up and fly us to Vegas? I mean, we’re both looking good right now, you more so.” Her face went a shade or two deeper. She jumped in surprise when he let go of her hand to play with a tendril again on the right side, tilting her face to press a kiss to her left cheek. “God, you’re such a pretty little thing.”
She squeaked.
“What, what was the pet name?”
“Hm?” He lazily met her gaze, a dream like haze filter over them as he moved her body to sway with his. “Oh, that.”
“What was it?”
Baby, babygirl, beautiful, gorgeous- he may have said more than one.
He gave a slow and wicked grin, twirling her out and back into his chest in a swift and stunning movement as he nudged his nose to hers.
“Wouldn’t you like to know?” He teased, smile spreading wider and radiant as she forgot to breathe for a second.
What. A fucking. Tease.
The need for him to make good on his words and looks hit through her hard and reminded her of their one night together that they both never forgotten. And how much she wished that was every night, as long as it ended up with them curled right around each other and love and happiness coaxing them to sleep instead of stress and loneliness.
He watched her steel her gaze, her jaw tightened. He swallowed when her height, now of five feet thanks to heels, straightened and forced him to pull up. A violent shiver rocked through him when both hands held along the back of his neck, one slipping under the collar of his shirt to scratch along the nape.
“Marinette-,” he choked.
“I’m only asking so I can show my reciprocation.” She leaned closer, kicking her shoes off into some corner and standing on his converse that every elder of theirs had eyed in question during the night. He supported her actions fully, of course. Still stepping them around in dance within a fluid motion. “Not gonna tell me, hun?”
He coughed, loudly and looked away from her to catch his breath. Watching adults cheat on spouses everywhere or everyone else minding their own business to stare at models or the shrimp on the tables.
He almost tripped when she wined in protest, her hand gripping his chin lightly and turning it to face her. His eyes were flickering between admiration, lust and love, growing three shades of deeper blue than was possible.
“C’mon, baby, tell me.”
“Baby?” He stammered out in surprise. Teenage Luka was having a fucking field day with this. “Marinette, I was only joking earlier and-,”
“Were you really though?”
“No,” his response was fast and instant, a wince playing at the corner of his eyes and his button nose scrunching in loss of control.
“Hey handsome,” he preened under the nickname passing her lips, even if close to millions called him the same thing, it paid more effect when it was Marinette calling him it. “Tell me why you came tonight.”
His neck was aching from staring down to meet her eyes now that the heels were gone but he let himself down lower to press his forehead to hers. “Because you deserve better than what he gives you.”
The girl stilled, expecting an awkward or a flirtatious remark. “What?”
The rockstar looked away sheepishly, a little ashamed. “I know you’re considering getting with him, but when I heard he was canceling on you I let my jealousy win out and I just wanted to be there for you.” He bit his lip when he felt her tugging his face back in her direction, choosing to resist the pressure. “You have to believe me when I say I came with no ulterior motives other than protecting you from going stag to your own party tonight.”
“You, you came to protect me?”
He shrugged, another small shiver racking through him when her hands moved along and glided across his neck. “And make sure you had a good night. I even asked your mom what you were wearing tonight just so I could make sure my outfit complimented yours to cheer you up.”
She was silent for a minute or so, and he waited, patiently as ever and guiding her to rest her head against his chest as he swayed them.
Luka, doing all the work. Luka, taking matters into his own hands when someone fails her. Luka, going the extra mile to make sure she has a happy memory.
Fuck giving second chances to other people. Luka is the only one to have shown her he’s the most earning of the concept and notion.
She pulls away, feeling the slight reluctance in his arms on her waist before they drop to his side, “Grab my heels.”
He raises a black brow but complies, turning to find them and hooking his fingers in the backs. He eyes them, used to seeing her shoes laying around the Liberty when she comes over or even at her own place, but he always has to remark that, “You have small feet.”
“You’ve also called them cute,” she huffs, tugging on his hand and pulling him near the entrance.
He follows, like they always do for one another. “Because they are- where are we going?” He stops them as they round an empty corridor, away from the hotel’s event room where the party is still very much happening. The heel of his palm grips tight to archway, pressing against it, the small shoes still dangling in his hold.
“Home, your place or mine. Actually, mine’s closer.”
He laughs brightly, “You can’t ditch your own party for another movie night, Mari.”
The petite girl turns to him, a fierce expression in his eyes that makes him swallow harshly. “No, but I can ditch to celebrate in getting what I really want. For finally getting what I want.”
“The Chinese takeout place is closed this time of ni-,”
“You.”
“What?” Luka wheezes, he blinks stupidly at her. Prettily and stupidly. He straightens, freehand tugging at his collar a little like he needs room to breathe. “Come again?”
“I’m going home. I’m taking you with me. And we’re gonna celebrate that I finally got off my ass and got what I wanted.”
He hums, nervously and a bounce starting in his hand, a shake in one hand, his dark brows furrow, “And you want?”
“You.”
“You- you want,” he sucks in a sharp breath, pain flashing across his features as he clears his throat. “You want me?”
Her eyes soften, a smile showing as she steps closer to him and takes his face into her hands, pulling him down to be eye level with her as he braces his weight on the wall next to them with a hand.
“Yes,” he looks awestruck as she giggles. “I want you... can you let me keep you?”
He laughs nervously, “I’ll fucking sell myself to you if that’s what you really want, fuck.”
She’s smiling, leaning up on tiptoes to alleviate the strain in his neck and pressing a kiss to his lips, muffling the undignified noise of surprise that escapes him. She lets him get used to her for a second, kissing him slowly and purposely as starts to eventually overcome the shock and kiss her back in reverence.
He pulls away suddenly, a guilted expression on his face.
“Wait, wait. What about Adrien?”
“What about him?”
Luka fidgets, a quick glimpse of insecurities and jealousy showing to her before he regains a semblance of control after having his walls knocked down. “He’s been trying to go out with you, win you affections.”
He only knows of the situation, but never presses her to talk about it. It’s natural for it to come up in conversation everyday when he asks her about work knowing the stress of being twenty-two in a high end fashion company could be a bit more than overwhelming. He wanted to be a safe place to her since the beginning.
“There’s nothing about him. I’ve shut him down an handful of times and now it’s just a matter of letting him indulge himself in what he thinks are romantic gestures when me saying no doesn’t cut it. There’s nothing going on between him and I, just his belief that my crush from years ago accounts for something today.”
Luka still looks wary and isn’t touching her, most likely his conscious trying to be the better person between him and Adrien by not going out with the girl his friend is pining after.
Even if said girl is Luka’s legitimate best friend and the very same girl he’s been in love with since he was a kid.
Marinette feels like it’s a dirty tactic as she gets closer to him, trying to gauge where it’s jealousy and where it’s insecurity in regards to Adrien.
She presses a kiss to the corner of his mouth. Luka’s head turns minutely at the attention, tilting less than a centimeter to catch her lips before he catches himself. He struggles when her next kiss falls to his lips and is soft and slow, how he always wants to kiss her.
“Remember our first kiss?” She whispers, wounding arms around his waist and pressing close to him.
He matches her volume, an adoring look winning for a split second, “Of course I remember.”
“Remember our first date?”
“At the ice cream parlor, you wore a pink skirt that kept twirling when you did.” She feels his resolve break a little, his own right to be selfish with her slipping out a little.
His arms slip around her, and he presses a gentle kiss to her temple. “Remember our goodbye at the airport?” His arms tightening around her speak more volumes than his strained, “Yes,” does.
She’s just a little closer to convincing him to stop being so sacrificial with his own wants or needs. She just has to push more.
“Remember waking up in one another’s arms that morning?”
He’s silent for a few seconds, thinking of what he can say in response to that. Wondering how honest to be, “... every day, I think of that morning every day.”
She still hears the clipped apprehension in his voice. That tone she knows so well that’s gonna lead into him giving her advice to rethink this whole decision and talk to him when she’s absolutely sure. How she shouldn’t think on impulse and lunge at what she wants unless she knows she does wanna keep with it.
But, he has to know she always thinks back on moments with him and that she longs to have jumped on impulse if it meant being with him.
Every time he’s showed up with takeout at her place. When he smiles so freely at her. When he bandages her cuts and blisters from working all night long.
When he showed up tonight looking like he had been her dare to begin with. How her heart felt when he admitted to lying to her secretary. The way he looked carrying her high heels that were much too small for his hands but he didn’t care because she asked him to.
How he crashed her own party to make sure she’d have fun tonight.
She’s sure she wants this, him.
All those nicknames they could call each other. All the benefits of dating the other and having a date to everything the other needs to attend. Having her best friend be her boyfriend meaning there’s no holding back from anything.
She’ll cringe about it in the morning, but it’s gotta work to break his long instilled fear of being a bad friend or person. Of being unselfish.
“Do you still remember that night?”
She’s sure he’s stopped breaking by the way his entire body seems to shut down, but then it reboots and he’s shaking against her and can’t seem to breathe correctly, his eyes avoiding hers as he swallows again and looking like he’s willing to risk going into an allergic reaction for the sake of one drink.
“That- that’s not something you forget, Marinette.” His hands are twitching on her waist, grip tightening just a little and a vein is jumping in his arm to do something to prove he remembers alright.
One more push, “Do you still remember how I tasted that night?”
He seizes her waist, lunging to kiss her desperately like he did that night and when he left, a growl passing his lips onto hers. He’s cupping the back of her neck, fingers threading through her hair, breathing her in and shaking against her as his resolves breaks completely and the selfish side comes out. The one that’s nowhere near as selfish as the average person, but enough to take in the matter of his own needs and wants. He pulls back, letting her watch his eyes darken, the pupils expanding until the blues are next to near mere ridges of color. He’s watching hers do the same before he nudges her nose and kisses her slowly, more loving and affectionate. His control slipping back into place and resulting in the Luka she so loves regaining the handles of his own mind.
He’s careful in the way he tugs her lip with his teeth, how he coaxes her to let him kiss her fully before pull back and panting against her lips.
“Yes, I remember,” his voice is rough and he has to glance away from her and straighten. She watches him take a few meditative breaths before he looks back at her.
“Does that really help?” She gestures to his chest and mouth, “the breathing?”
He laughs hollowly, “No, not really, but it bought me time to create some distance in this,” he glances around, “Not your apartment place.”
She laughs at the suddenly horrified look that crosses his face, the image of them making out and the threat of almost being caught in public instantly dawning on him. He glares playfully at her.
“You did that all on purpose.”
“Had to, you were just about to give me up for the sake of being a good friend to me and Adrien.” She pauses, a wicked idea forming to prove her point, “Unless, you want Adrien to know what that all is like?”
A dark look crosses Luka’s face; unrestrained bouts of suppressed jealousy, possessiveness and territoriality. “No,” he growls out, eyes squeezing shut and having to clear his throat. “I’d rather not let him know any of that personally.”
“Not even how I taste?”
“Marinette,” he warned, the growl resurfacing. She cooed, wrapping him up in a hug and pressing a kiss to his jaw as an apology. He whined, “It’s not funny when you do that.”
“No, but everything you feel is alright to feel. Don’t hold back for the sake of not being selfish. You can be selfish with me, you’re a reasonable guy and know boundaries.” She sighed, nuzzling further into his warm embrace. “I don’t like Adrien the way he wants me to, and lately, it’s hard to even be his friend. He needs to move on from me. Hell, I’m better friends with Félix now than him.”
“Just hope they don’t switch up on you again.”
She huffed in amusement. “God no, I’d kill them.”
“It’s adorable how how your less than five feet body resorts to violence and death threats.”
“Mm, except you, I’m quite fond of you.” She looks up at him, chin pressed to his chest and smiling when he looks at her softly and presses a kiss to her nose. “This, us, is not an impulse. Just a restrained want I’ve had for awhile.”
“Okay, I understand now.”
She grins cheekily at him, “Or need, if that makes you all possessive hot yet secretly adorable rockstar boyfriend mode again.”
“Boyfriend?” He smiled slowly, radiant as always and heart stopping. “If teenage me could hear you, he’d probably shut down from being overwhelmed.”
“Nineteen year old you certainly didn’t that night,” she mumbles, grinning at the loud bark of laughter that surprises the both of them when Luka throws his head back.
“Yeah, thanks for reminding me what age I lost it at, totally rockstar of me, right?” The blush that’s coating his neck and ears is adorable, a shy smile quirking at her briefly.
“I think it’s sweet, cute even.”
“Yeah, because you’re the one I lost it to.” He deadpanned without conviction. “But, I guess I’ll take being sweet and cute.”
“It’s okay though, I mean, I did the cliché of losing my virginity to someone I was in love with.” Luka does in fact shut down in her embrace hearing that. Hands jittering against her and fingers tapping like he’s trying to speak through notes against her skin.
He takes another minute, before pressing a kiss to her hair. “If this is you confessing your love to me -and believe me, it’s killing me to stop you right now, I’d rather you do it in regards to another topic and not the fact that we were one another’s first time.” He avoids the dangerous smirk aimed his way, or the sharp angle of her cocked, black brow above breathtaking blues. “C’mon, let’s go dance some more and celebrate your success before we leave, maybe find your assistant to introduce me as your boyfriend to.”
She pours at him when he tugs on her hand in the direction of the party. “But-,”
He breathed out shakily, a waning patient look in his eyes and a false smirk aimed at her. “Can I sleep over tonight?”
“Do you want to?”
“Yes,” he breathed. “I’m very close to just following you home at this point, trust me. I don’t care how the night ends, just as long as it’s you and me tonight.”
She’s letting him make them dance again, feeling as the nerves leave his body as he gets them to fall in step with the tempo. He doesn’t care that he has to bend a little ways down to rest his cheek on her hair, not when she’s letting him pull her up against his chest when she typically only reaches the bottom of his rib cage.
They work well together, they fit perfectly together because they’re more than used to the instinctive adapting to one another.
Her hands cup his cheeks, kissing him carefully without reservation and the anxiety, “It was only an impulse at times because I love you and have for awhile.”
Luka deepens the kiss just a little, thankful she’s the type of girlfriend to let him indulge in her as he smiles, “I get it, I’ve had my share of impulsive thoughts for as long as I’ve been in love with you since we were young. I love you, Mari.”
“Enough to crash a party for me, apparently,” she whispered, a little moved by the thought that they were finally together. He thumbed her tears away.
“Enough to kill Adrien or Félix if you ask me to,” he replied in a loving tone, soothing her gasps for air when she broke apart in giggles against his chest in reaction.
He didn’t leave after that night. And he went to every party as her date too.

interview with Cinema Today Japan, December 2019
(update: here is the link to @hanashimas‘ translation which is more accurate)
talks about Deku and Bakugou’s characters and their attributes
mentions that at the start of the story Bakugou thinks Deku is above him, so he tries to act intimidating and superior to overtake him
(ETA: apparently this is a mistranslation; he actually says that he intended for Bakugou to be a character who was “above” Deku so to speak, who Deku would eventually surpass. he then goes on to talk about his realization that Bakugou could actually have a much more interesting character arc, which of course we have since seen play out.)
mentions that he planned to have Bakugou and Deku improve on two separate vectors as they entered U.A.
mentions Deku vs Kacchan 1 as a turning point where he had some realizations about Bakugou’s character that humanized him for him
mentions that he always knew Bakugou wouldn’t turn evil and “would never lose to the darkness”
says the scene where Katsuki takes Kirishima’s hand at Kamino was bittersweet because it showed Bakugou’s growth, but also showed the ongoing gulf between him and Deku because Deku knew that Katsuki wouldn’t take his hand
mentions that Bakugou still needs to apologize to Deku
says that Kirishima, Kaminari, and Mina are among the easiest characters for him to draw because they take the initiative and get the other characters excited and help pull the story forward
mentions that he always hears Nobu’s voice in his head now when writing Bakugou
talks about the characters being high school kids still, and that when he expanded on their families he was conscious of that -- “I wanted to show that these protagonists are still children after all”

talks about Bakugou’s character development which leads up to that moment
talks about the conclusion of the series, and that all of the characters will come together in the end
interview with all of the past editors of the BnHA manga, March 2021

they talk about the individual moments early on when they realized that the series would be “amazing”

interview in the MHA Drawing Smash Exhibition Pamphlet, April 2021
Horikoshi talks about the art in the exhibition and about the process of creating the artwork
he mentions that the piece with Deku rescuing a falling Ochako took the longest to draw
he says the drawing of All Might was the most fun to draw for him
that’s pretty much it, this one is very short lol
interview in Jump GIGA Spring 2021, April 2021
talks about which characters will play an important role in the final act. specifically mentions Hawks, Ochako, Shouji, Shinsou, Monoma, and Sero
“many characters’ actions will converge into a single one, so maybe the best way to say it would be ‘keep an eye on all of them!’“
says that for Hawks’s flashbacks and the Todoroki family’s past, he was influenced by Sion Sono’s works
mentions that the drawing of Deku and Ochako from the MHA Drawing Smash exhibit isn’t directly related to the main story, but that while drawing it he kept in mind how their relationship would develop if he explored it deeper
says he had the final act (or at least the chapter 306 reveal part of it) vaguely planned for a long time, but started to think about the specifics in volume 21 during the Endeavor vs High-End fight
says he’s already decided on the ending, and that “the path to it has been longer than I initially expected, but the main elements that I’ve decided before starting the series are still the same”
Q&A trivia from Vol. W World Heroes’ Mission, August 2021
(and alternate translation by aitaikimochi)
talks about All Might not having many friends among the pro heroes (but says he’s become “slightly attached” to Aizawa since he started teaching at U.A.)
describes what Bakugou, Tsuyu, and Mineta’s rooms look like
talks about Jirou and Momo’s relationship and the kind of things they like to talk about when they hang out together
says that Shouji’s face will eventually be revealed, and that he is “not sure” about Hagakure’s :’)
talks about the types of YouTube videos Shouto watches (pretty insightful answer which is equal parts sweet and sad)
says that Midnight’s classes were the most popular among the students
says U.A.’s robots once rebelled against their creators (lol wtf)
says his three favorite movies are Akira, The Ring, and Spider-Man: Far From Home. he says Akira in particular is his bible
and that’s it for now, but I will update this post with future interviews as they are posted, and if anyone has links to an interview I’ve missed please let me know.

Happy FFWF! What advice do you have for writers who are just starting out writing fanfic? It can be anything from the writing process itself, to learning how to post on AO3/tumblr/other sites, or even just encouraging words to remember!
Oh!!! I love this question! I’ve been reading and writing fic for over a decade now (jesus christ) and so hopefully I have some good advice!
Avoid self-deprecation in your tags and summary
I know. It’s tempting. You’re a new writer and it seems smarter to write “I’m bad at summaries!” so that no one can tell you that your summaries suck in the comments. But here’s the secret: sometimes a summary doesn’t have to be that complicated to be good, so you can “suck” and still technically have a decent summary.
That’s why the Trope Exactly What It Says On The Tin exists. If you’re writing a 5+1 fic, the summary can just be telling me what those 5+1 things are! If you’re writing that 2 characters are having a cuddle, just...tell me that’s what’s we’re here for. Obviously multichapter stories can be different, and for more plot-heavy fics you may want to be more elaborate, but in general, keeping it simple will ALWAYS be better and more attractive to fic readers than telling people you’re bad at something before they’ve even clicked on the link.
Don’t pressure yourself about updates.
Sometimes I’m writing a fic, and I’m stressed about it. I’m constantly thinking about how I haven’t updated it in forever, or I said I was writing it and never did, and maybe sometimes people ask me about it and I feel guilty. It happens.
But remember fic writing is for YOU. Number one, if you are writing what you want to be writing, you will have much more fun and a lot less stress.
Pre-write, if that helps you post more regularly. Write small fics. Post one long 20k fic to post all at once. However you write, just do it in a way that keeps it enjoyable rather than an obligation (or enjoyable while being an obligation). Most readers will be totally understanding (Because a lot of us are adults with jobs and kids and whatever else--yes, we exist--and we totally get that fic writing isn’t a full time job and we’re being given content for free.) And if they don’t, that’s too bad. You’re doing your thing and having fun and it’s not for the people that don’t appreciate it.
Have a basic grasp of formatting/tagging/etc.
This may take a while to hone, and that’s okay! It has somehow gotten both more and less complicated to participate in fandom with the rise of new sites and technologies. Things are easier to find, but the conventions fic writers and readers use change based on the site, and it’s important to know what they’re doing if you want their attention on your work.
Tagging is a big part of it--not all sites have this feature in the first place. (FFNet still doesn’t, and I don’t know about Wattpad.) Ao3 is where it’s easy to get lost in what to tag and what not to. First off, definitely research what other fandom participants are doing. Hell, ask them yourself! We all want to make finding fics easy, and the best way to do that is to make things easier on the tag wranglers by tagging what’s in the fic and using the tags to your advantage to tell us more about what the fic is about (and not talking in the tags so much, like we do on tumblr).
Another thing in this vein is pasting from, say, Google Docs into the Rich Text Editor on Ao3. If you’ve ever done it, you know things get screwy if you just copy, paste, and slap that publish button. One return key between paragraphs on Google Docs = 2 returns on Ao3. The periods at the end of certain sentences can get spaced out weird. And HTML in your summary is a beast of its own.
Learning these tricks and checking your fic before you publish can reduce these errors and give you a chance to Beta yourself, and help in the above of letting everyone else know that YOU KNOW how Ao3 works and that you’re “one of us”. (AKA: Someone whose fic I “trust” to not make those mistakes when I read it.)
Have fun!
I know it’s cheesy, but if you write what you enjoy and share it, there’s probably someone out there that also cares about it and wants to read it. And if there’s not...you made a thing! You wrote! You created! You did it! It’s a large hurdle to get over, sharing your work, and the fanfic archives are so, so better for all of us that have conquered it.
Also, I’ve found that if I enjoy myself and stay in my lane having fun, 95% of the comments are other people doing the same. There will always be some people who leave negative comments just because they like to be negative, but I’ve had really good luck in fandoms both large and small by just hanging out, leaving comments on the things I like, and supporting the people whose work I enjoy.
If you read this, I hope even a little of it was encouraging or helpful. These totally aren’t hard and fast rules, but they’ve helped me over the years to become a better fic writer, reader, and general participant in fandom.

Pair Questions part 1/2 featuring Gin and Aizen
This time no ship intended, but it will be rectified in another post. Enjoy ~
Who steals the covers at night?
Gin. He's a cold blooded creature, literally and metaphorically. His skin always feels too cold not to bury himself in the covers for all the span of that goddamned season. He doesn't care if his claim on the covers leaves his unfortunate bedmate damned to a frosty fate all night, nor does he have problems to brutally kick out of bed whoever tried to make fun of him by putting a cold foot in the vicinity of his own. He is selfish like that and doesn't know remorse. Or maybe, he could feel sorry if that other person were the cute Izuru-chan (but then his most sadistic part would revel in the wait until his too respectful Lieutenant'd overcome his qualms and actually start to fight for the covers) or he could decide to suffer himself the cold and leave the blanket to Rangiku like he did when they lived in that shack as kids, but if that other person happened to be Aizen, then he'd have absolutely no qualms about it. The dark-haired shinigami could and would die of frostbite before Gin actually accepted to give up that pleasurable warmth. After all, the wannabe god is too superior to actually lower himself to start a pillow fight to get it or start listing actual reasons why he had a greater right than his second (stressing that word too much for his taste) to be covered by the blanket, wasn't he?
But ... was he?
Who cooks normally?
Aizen. There'd be a cold day in hell before he let this change. It took him too many years to get his little Lieutenant to understand the difference between 'survival food' and 'actual food' to afford now to have him fall back into his old habits. And the Rei-o knows what he'd do If he decided to purposely mess with the first kind of food to get a good laugh at Aizen's horrified face. Again. How could he forget that time when, during the first days of his training under Aizen's tutelage, Gin decided to thank him for his supposed generosity with a 'sumptuous lunch' (his words)? Go trust that little hellchild. Aizen's stomach wanted to vomit only at the memory of it. When the pest put the plate full of mice and insects, "killed just for the occasion" said proudly the child, in front of him he was torn between the the strong impulse to throw up and the need to examine closely Gin's body language to discern if he sincerely believed that was a satysfing meal or if he just exploited his Rukongai upbringing to make him suffer. Probably the latter.
... And those awful dried persimmons...
When he looked at the genuinely expecting and just a tad mischievous look the kid was giving him, he understood it was a balanced mix of the two. Right then, he decided two things:
Gin would never be allowed to get close to his kitchen again without a real, convincing and absolutely necessary life-or-death reason;
He had to take the problem in his own hands because: first, no way that the future king of the three worlds will ever eat something like that, ever, and, secondly, it was his duty to bring that too scrawny and bony hellion to health.
He could not have his future second in command be weak or die because of the consequences of starvation before he could make himself useful to him. It was a pragmatic matter. Regardless of all the times that moron of Hirako made fun of his attempts because "aren't you too old to play family, Sousuke-kun?" or "did you really adopt the kid, don't you? How 'cute'!". It was just that. But then he continued to encourage Gin's insatiable appetite until he was satisfied with his now not dangerous weight and even found that he really liked cooking for both of them, it was a relaxing hobby for his abused patience. Kaname's recipes and passion for cooking helped, too.
Nickname for each other?
Hellion. Wanna-be-God. Reptilian calamity. Overdramatic narcissist. And so on. Not very difficult saying who's what.
What would they get each other for gift?
Kamishini no Yari's poison A guide on "how to survive your obsessed fangirls and still look cool". A set of dried sweet potatoes to thank him for the time Gin raided his fridge of all its contents and filled it with 12 kilos of hard-boiled eggs. How he managed to put them there without making the fridge explode was beyond him, but still. He'd be sure to make Gin pay for it.
What would they do if the other one was hurt?
It depends. On what, you'd ask. It's quite simple. It depends on who is responsible for the other's wound/hurt. If it were each other, then they'd be perfectly cool with it and not bother too much for it, just plot a gruesome revenge (the other isn't so weak and unproud to make a big deal out of something so trivial like hurt, isn't he? And if they were, it'd mean that they're not worth of the other's attention like they believed). If the culprit were not one of them, though, that person would probably be eviscerated or severally maimed before they could even complete the thought "I did it!". Because only they had the right (and the power) to wound or kill the other. None of them would ever let someone else in the way of this challenge between them.
Who remember things?
Both. They have entire metaphorical archives full of blackmailing material in organized folders against each other, carefully collected for more than 109 years. Aizen-taicho hates boiled eggs, Gin felt betrayed by sweet potatoes, Aizen would never go out without having checked the exact angle of his hair lock at least twice at minute, Gin becomes skittish every time Matsumoto or that bratty Lieutenant of his come in the picture, Aizen secretly fears Hinamori's obsession with him, etc...
They both made a mental note to remember that each of these things could be useful, sooner or later.
Their thoughts on the whole Fangirl and ships topic?
Disturbing. Fascinating and distur - Hinamori! For the umpteenth time, I'm fine and no, I don't need anything. You did a great job and you can go now! - bing.
Who cusses more?
Surprisingly enough, Aizen. Actually, Gin is the one that cusses frequently, steadily and on daily basis, but only for the fun of annoying Izuru's, Aizen's and Kuchiki-taicho's noble sensibility. But when he's in that mood that makes other people cuss, he'll communicate it with icy glares, a sharper edged grin or a overall crueler behavior. On the other hand, Aizen is the one that pledges himself as above things like annoyance, rage and (especially) a "crude language so beneath my godlike status caused by irrelevant emotions like irritation", as Gin decided to put it to make fun of him. But when he's really pissed like when Urahara doesn't take action, ruins his plans or Gin writes obscene kanjis on the board during his calligraphy lessons, he'll lose all control on his legendary composure and start cussing like a sailor. Hopefully, Kyoka Suigetsu prevents people from noticing it.
How often do they fight?
As a serious fight? Once every hundred and nine years, but it's "until death do us part". As just a way to kill time? Very very often, but it's never beyond a good deal of verbal jabs. You could almost consider it as their own fond way of saying hi to each other.
Are there any foods that make their stomach upset?
For Gin, no, there aren't. At least, Aizen has been conducting a research on the topic since the infamous lunch with still no result worth of notice. Ichimaru hates some foods, doesn't like others, but, by now, his stomach's completely anesthetized even to Rangiku's cooking after being subjected to it for so many years. And that's saying something, as far as Aizen is concerned. Not that he meant to imply anything about Matsumoto's cooking abilities, of course. Overall, he'd gulp down anything if needed.
Aizen instead is very picky about his food. He's a perfectionist here, like in every other aspect of his life. There's nothing able to upset his stomach, though. And even if there was, he'd never tell a soul. Ever. Gin had not to be encouraged to do anything stupid against him, no matter what.
Who's the most irritable during an hungover?
Gin. Aizen doesn't drink anything but his beloved tea and the occasional sip of fine wine. But Gin during an hungover is something Aizen wouldn't wish on anyone, not even Yamamoto or the Rei-o. A hissy, horribly-moody, vengeful cat you just woke by stepping on its tail is a cutie puppy in comparison to him. Really, it happened once and Aizen swore Gin should never end up with nothing more alcoholic than a glass of water, never again, for his own sanity's sake. Fortunately, Gin found that if he ate a dried persimmon after the drink he shared with his dear Rangiku, he couldn't get hungover. Still to this day, Aizen wasn't entirely convinced of the scientific accuracy of this theory, but given that it didn't happen anymore, he was willing to give him credit for it.
Have they ever tried to ruin the other's dates?
Life in Soul Society is particularly monotonous. This is a fact everyone agreed with and what's at the core of the matter. So, yes, they did, but only when paperwork became so painstakingly boring that it could be seen as something funny to do. Particularly, Aizen loved calling secret meetings between himself, Kaname and Gin as soon as he knew, because he did know, that Gin was in the middle of an especially good moment during a date with Rangiku (or even during a friendly walk with that Kira) just because Aizen could. On the other hand, Gin loved making fun of Aizen's utterly missing and more-dead-than-Omaeda's love life, despite the fact that half of shinigami and the recruits desired him and the other half either belonged to Byakuya fanclub or were just lying to themselves. So, he did not so much ruin Aizen's dates as he did try to set him up with absurd dates with psychotic and obsessed fangirls and fanboys that always left Aizen baffled at how much he had underestimated people' crazyness. An "I care about your love life, taicho, I try to find a good date for you because we can't have you become an old grumpy overlord with a dog as your only company at night, can we?" my ass. Bratty moron.

As tagged by @themusicmoviesportsguy! Holy crap everyone, I ramble. Apologies!
rules: tag 9 people who you want to know better / catch up with and then answer these questions
TAGGING (I’m tagging more than 9 because it’s been a while): @derricklogan2, @dog-of-ulthar, @introspectivemeltdown, @maximiliani, @memetoilet, @mundi41, @myluckyerror, @neverwasastoryofmorewhoa, @plus-low-overthrow, @sadisticsunglasses @theybecomestories, and @voicetalentbrendan. Anybody else who wants to do this can do this as well!
last song: From the radio (yes, I listen to RADIO)... “Windy” by The Association. I’m historically terrible at getting lyrics correctly no matter the era or genre - I don’t remember the first time I ever googled a song’s lyrics, but I probably was very excited to correct myself. As might be very understandable in this instance, I thought this song was “Wendy” for a long time. But if the YouTube comments are to go by, more than a few Wendys like this song!
last movie: On a rewatch? The Three Caballeros (1944; my write-up from five years ago is in the link). It’s a fascinating film from its unabashed use of color, a very early melding of animation and live-action, Donald Duck lusting over human women (wouldn’t Daisy be jealous?), and the two charismatic co-leads in Jose Carioca and Panchito Pistoles. It’s no propaganda film, but I guess the movie did its job from preventing former Nazis and fascists from settling in Latin America to escape punishment for their deeds!
As a film completely new to me? Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart at the River Styx (1972, Japan). It’s the second of a six-film series based on the manga Lone Wolf and Cub. I passed on writing a review for the first film, as I will for the rest of the series (at least for now). I’m not the biggest fan of the decision in samurai movies to have the blood spraying out of crumpling bodies like a pressure hose, but I see why this series appeals. Outside of The Mandalorian, I’m surprised that the Lone Wolf and Cub series hasn’t influenced more movies and television - the action scenes are strikingly staged from what I’ve seen so far (the first two films).
currently reading: When it comes down to a presidential election season, this sounds a bit sad, but this is usually the least likely time that I am reading any book for fun. The United States’ and Orange County’s handling of the pandemic has also contributed to this. So other than the numerous news articles and feature pieces, I’ve read several essays on certain films I’m writing on in the coming days. Thankfully (or unfortunately depending on how you see it), there has been a lot written about Elvis movies - the good, the bad, and the mediocre. There’s a lot of mediocre Elvis movies. I’m gonna need help soon from classic Bollywood-knowledgeable friends, though.
currently watching: If you’re reading this, I’m sure you’re pretty tired of the Gargoyles and Gravity Falls spam on this blog in recent weeks. My sister and I finished both recently and I am attempting to complete both series’ summer run in the queue on August 31. After that, both will appear more sporadically. I think the best thing for GF is to cycle it in the queue every summer, similar to how I restrict certain Peanuts specials to a specific part of the year (and how I mostly restrict Over the Garden Wall’s appearances on this blog to autumn, especially October). But that’s the recent past.
Right now, two extremely different animated series. The first is The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (thank you to my friend for sharing her Disney+ account). My sister and I haven’t seen the series in ~20 years, and I was curious to see if it has held up. I think, as an extension of the original Disney Winnie the Pooh films and A.A. Milne’s works, it’s exceptionally respectful to young children and the parents that would presumably be watching with them. That’s hard to do. For a late ‘80s/early ‘90s series, the backgrounds are drop-dead gorgeous and you can tell Disney threw a lot of money at this series. The other TV series is Star Trek: Lower Decks. We’re only three episodes in, so no judgments from me yet... I don’t understand people who base their television criticism based on less than half a season.
Currently sitting in the DVR awaiting to be completed is The Little Colonel (1935), starring Shirley Temple, Lionel Barrymore, and Bill “Bojangles” Robinson. This is the film with the famous staircase dance between Temple and Robinson* (who struck up an interracial, intergenerational friendship that lasted until Robinson’s death). Given all the problematic films that are featured on this blog, I’m just curious why I haven’t been cancelled yet.
* Yes, I linked the black-and-white original. I fucking refuse to promote colorized prints of black-and-white films for reasons of artistic integrity (unless the colorization was done in consultation/with the approval of the principal creative figures... the instances of which are close to zero).
currently craving: If you can call a trip to the movie theater a craving, sure! Though it may be a craving, California won’t be letting those open for a while. And I don’t feel safe going to a theater upon reopening. It probably will be many months - maybe *shudder* a year - at the rate things are going.
working on anything rn?: *deep breath* These are almost all long-term things...
Thinking about a career pivot.
An extremely informal consultancy gig I’m doing with an old professor of mine on a documentary film she is spearheading.
Continued archiving of all My Movie Odyssey reviews onto Google Drive (this has stalled lately due to the above). The archiving is being done in the hopes of launching a parallel blog in 2021 (WordPress? something else?) which would contain only my movie reviews - this tumblr would remain (and the reviews will still be posted here) for as long tumblr is a viable medium to attract a new reader or two.
Making mental notes about how to approach this blog’s next marathon (“Women Make Film” - Tuesday evenings from Sept. 1-Dec. 1).
In October, I’ll start making preparations for the preliminary rounds of the 2020 Movie Odyssey Award for Best Original Song. Of course we’re doing it again!
And of course, the Movie Odyssey write-ups.
currently playing: Nothing at this moment, but I do admit having a Civilization VI phase in recent months (I suck and barbarians stress me out - yes I know you’re supposed to take out the scout ASAP). That may or may not pick up again.

The 60 Best Watches for Men 2020
The Esquire editors pick their favourite new and upcoming watches from big Swiss brands and under-the-radar newbies. The Esquire editors pick their favourite new and upcoming watches, including launches from Breitling, Audemars Piguet, Omega and Cartier. So named after the British explorer who discovered New Zealand, Rado's Captain Cook was first brought to life in the Sixties, and not aboard the ships of ponytailed colonists. And now, the archival piece is available in the enduring case material du jour – bronze – with a punchy forest green dial.
It's another set of features that sets the dive watch apart, and one that'll keep the Captain Cook in the good books: upon its release, Rado's dive watch was largely seen as one of the best in class. That hasn't changed much. And now, you can even get it on a Nato strap..It is a crying shame that Tag Heuer's Monaco – a watch that paid homage to the race track of Le Mans – was decommissioned for around 20 years. But following a re-release in 1998, it's slowly become one of the marque's marquee pieces. In 2020, they've managed to improve it still.
As part of a trio that made slight amendments to the current Monaco model, a black dial on black leather is as close to dress watch territory as a racing watch can park and better yet, the in-house Heuer 02 movement has enough juice for over 80 hours of action.Once upon a time, the industry wasn't centred in Switzerland. American manufacturing had a stake in the watch business too, rigging small town Main Street aesthetics with big impressive movements. Hamilton was at the forefront.
Now, it's re-released a 1968 archival piece for 2020. It's got impressive Swiss innards these days, yes, but in terms of what's on the outside, very little has changed. And that's a good thing. For all the opulence and extravagance of a diamond-laden automatic from the Jura, there's as much charm in an 'aw shucks' midwestern sensibility.A Rolex on the wrist is a serious investment. And thus, a serious watch. Though for all the commanding Wall Street presence of a big Day-Date, the industry's biggest marque is releasing watches that are a bit fun, a little bit more playful – watches just like the new Oyster Perpetual 36.
Quietly released just a few months ago, a tangerine dial on stainless steel is the off-duty Rolex collectors have long dreamt about, and better yet, it's no solo act: the Oyster Perpetual 36 sits within a larger collection of five watches in shades of candyfloss pink, forest green, sky blue and blood red.A Lange & Söhne is a connoisseur's watch brand. That's why it uses terms like 'rattrapante', confident that its clientele will know that it refers to a double chronograph that can record multiple time intervals at the same time. Taken from the French for 'catch up', it's a proper horologist's complication, the driving watch equivalent of a 600bhp V8 under the bonnet. And in the skilful hands of A Lange & Söhne, a piece of practical watchmaking becomes pure artistry, courtesy of a gold alloy that's said to be "considerably harder than platinum". We'll take their word for that.Without the deep blue sea, Oris wouldn't be able to make its big bold dive watches. And as such, the Swiss marque has a good habit of giving back to subaqueous charities. For its latest gesture: the Oris Hangang Limited Edition.
Released in tandem with the Korea Foundation for Environmental Movement, the Hangang Limited Edition siphons a section of its profits to a clean-up operation on the river of the same name – South Korea's second longest in fact. The piece is also as good as its intentions, with an automatic movement powering an emerald dial (inspired by the creeks of the Hangang's source) with an engraved caseback depicting the river's path across Korea. As one of the oldest watch marques in the whole wide world (if not the oldest, but that's up for debate), Vacheron Constantin is on the top shelf of Swiss watches. That's because they're known for wholly classic, hi-spec pieces. But that doesn't mean they're averse to New Things, though.
Case in point: the Overseas Self-Winding in pink gold. While previously gilding other models in rose gold, pink gold is defined by a smaller copper content, giving it a lighter blush and a subtle newness to the Overseas model. Factor in an impressive movement too (the splendid in-house caliber 5100) and here's a watch that plays to the well-worn strengths of Vacheron Constantin.

Apple Watch May Gain Breakthrough Health Feature, Patent Hints
Apple Watch Series 6 measures blood oxygen levels - will a future model monitor blood pressure, too? ... [+]
Apple
Since the first Apple Watch was launched, health and fitness have been front-and-center. So, the latest patents suggest a whole new capability may be about to be added: continuous blood pressure monitoring.
MORE FROM FORBESApple Reveals Its Highly-Anticipated Apple Watch Upgrade Is Almost HereBy David Phelan
Two patents have just been made public, as seen on Patently Apple, which indicate that Apple is working on adding this to the raft of features already on its smartwatches. The latest model, Apple Watch Series 6, measures blood oxygen level and can look out for atrial fibrillation and take an ECG reading. Several Apple Watches alert users if their heart rate is unusually high or low, offer sleep tracking and have a neat stress-reduction app called Breathe.
So, blood pressure monitoring would be a great next step. It wouldn’t quite be a first – Samsung has this feature in some of its smartwatches, but it has yet to be deployed conveniently or widely and requires calibration using a separate, standalone blood pressure monitor on a monthly basis.
The new arrivals are what are called continuation patents, which means the new ones are related to previous blood pressure monitoring patents which date as far back as 2014. In other words, Apple has been investigating this for quite some time.
The titles are, as is usual with this kind of thing, really catchy: "Electrical Coupling of Pulse Transit Time (PTT) Measurement System to Heart for Blood Pressure Measurement." Sounds like a real page-turner, no?
Some details of how the blood pressure monitoring might work on a future Apple Watch.
USPTO
The purpose of the patents is more interesting, including a focus on providing a continuous measurement in a non-invasive way, though the patents also suggest that two sensors will be required, only one of which would be the Apple Watch, with the other described merely as an electrode. The two together would be used so they are processing the voltage levels to detect when a volume of blood is ejected from the left ventricle; processing output from a pulse arrival sensor coupled to the wrist-worn device to detect when a blood pressure pulse generated by ejection of the volume of blood from the left ventricle arrives at the wrist; calculating a pulse transit time (PTT) for transit of the blood pressure pulse from the left ventricle to the wrist; and determining one or more blood pressure values for the subject based on the PTT.”
All clear?
Well, that’s the point of these patents, to reveal enough for Apple to own the innovation without pinning things down too much.
MORE FROM FORBESApple Watch Series 7 To Have Innovative Features, Upgraded Design, Insider SaysBy David Phelan
Will the final feature, if it ever comes to fruition, involve multiple sensors, or could it, like the ECG feature in the Apple Watch, simply require a circle to be completed by the user touching a sensor in the digital crown with one hand while the sensor on the back of the Watch makes contact with the opposite arm?
The fact that Apple is considering multiple sensors reveals that this is a more complex operation going on here.
When will we see blood pressure monitoring in the Apple Watch? As with all patent applications, it’s impossible to say when, or even if, it will develop into a Watch feature.
But the fact that Apple has been working on patents in this area since 2014 tells you it’s put considerable resources into making it happen and the time could indicate that it will be in an Apple Watch sooner rather than later. As soon as Apple Watch Series 7, expected next Fall? Watch this space.

The best Cyber Monday Apple Watch deals still available include $50 off the Series 6 and $20 off the SE
When you buy through our links, we may earn money from our affiliate partners. Learn more.
• Cyber Monday 2020 Apple deals are still live, bringing some of the best prices of the year for highly coveted tech products like Apple Watches and AirPods.
• The $400 Apple Watch Series 6, released in September 2020, is $50 off at Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and Target, while the $280 Apple Watch SE is down $20.
• Stores are offering deals on older Apple Watches, too, including $100 to $200 off the Apple Watch Series 5 at Best Buy, and $50 off the Apple Watch Series 3 at Target.
• Here are the best Cyber Monday deals we're tracking across the internet, all-day, every day.
The Apple Watch is the top smartwatch for iPhone users, combining heath and fitness tracking features with style and design. The latest wearrable tech can be expensive, but Cyber Monday has delivered deals on the newly released Apple Watch Series 6, along with older Apple Watch models, at multiple retailers.
Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and Target have been offering discounts of $50 to $200 off the Apple Watch since Thanksgiving and Black Friday , and Cyber Monday might be the last chance to claim these deals during the 2020 holiday season.
If you're not sure which Apple Watch is best for you, we've broken down the features for each model in our Apple Watch buying guide, and reviewed each model separately. Business Insider's Apple reporter Lisa Eadiccio said the $280 Apple Watch SE is the best choice for most prospective buyers.
It's important to note that some color options and sizes have varying deals. We try to point out the best deals, but a color or size option you want may not be as low.
Apple's top $400 Series 6 model with all the bells and whistles is getting a $50 discount at the moment. It includes a fast processor inside and a new blood-oxygen sensor. This measures SpO2 levels to track your overall respiratory and cardiac health alongside the usual array of health and fitness tracking sensors and features.
You can read our full Apple Watch Series 6 review here.
If you're willing to buy a slightly older Apple Watch model for a deep discount, Best Buy is offering $100 off the standard Apple Watch Series 5 (now $329) and $200 off the version that uses mobile data (now $449).
The Series 5 is a model that Apple doesn't sell anymore, but it's still a great buy if you can get it for less than the Series 6. It's similar to the cheaper Apple Watch SE, but with an always-on display and advanced health capabilities like ECG monitoring that the SE doesn't.
But, you can easily argue that you don't really need the Series 5 or Series 4, as the more recent Apple Watch SE has similar specs and features, and its $280 retail price is already lower. Add in the $20 off deal we're seeing right now for Cyber Monday, and the SE becomes even more tempting.
You can read our full Apple Watch SE review here.
The Apple Watch SE is the perfect blend of features and affordability. This recently released Apple Watch is selling for $20 less than its usual price — which was already a bargain for all it offers.
And, if you're avoiding big price tags and looking for the core Apple Watch experience, the Apple Watch Series 3 will suit most people just fine. For a $200 retail price, it's already a good option for budget-conscious buyers. An extra $50 off sweetens the deal even further.
You can read our full Apple Watch Series 3 review here.
The Apple Watch Series 3 in aluminum is the perfect blend of style and functionality for an excellent price.

Oh no, i’m stuck at home! – a guide
So, i know that i’m probably telling this to the wrong people – most of us artists, poets and various fandom dwellers know how to keep ourselves occupied when stuck at home, but especially for workaholics, those with anxiety or those of us dependant on feeling productive to keep out depression (and for the normies), i feel like a extrended guide on how to be home properly could be useful.
By now, everyone has seen checklists on how to behave during quarantine and lockdowns enough to give us all a collective anxiety attack, but what, i feel, is neglected, is the fact that staying home spontaneously for 5 weeks, sometimes involuntarily, can be a terror in its own right.
So, from someone that has been sick for months with almost nothing to do, here are some tips and tricks to not succumb too much, if you’re the type for that
1. Stay active
Yes, i know, nobody is surprised, but its serious. Netflix and chill might keep you occupied for a few days, maybe two weeks, maybe the whole time, but if your mental state depends on feeling busy, stay active. if you have a local forest or park that you can safely visit, go, atleast every two days for atleast two hours. if you have a balcony, sit there.
2. Make your home liveable
keep your rooms ventilated, let sunlight in, take Vitamin D if you have it. Do workout at home if you can. Going stir crazy might not be an issue in your every–day life, but it gets everyone eventually. Eat your veggies before they spoil, eat regularly and with conscience. After work, if you must go, shower and desinfect your stuff, wear clean clothes even if you stay home and keep up woth your chores (if your mental state allows it, of course. There is another thing to be said about those of us that have a harder time to keep up with themselves in general, but this is mainly about not letting daily life disintegrate).
2. New content is your friend.
Podcasts, DnD online, Netflix or Prime from friends – if you’re like me, you most likely have a watchlist the size of east texas. I recently posted a Podcast Rec. List on my blog that has more than a year of pure audio content altogether, many of these are also great for falling asleep or on the go. For podcasts, i recommend Spotify if you have Premium or the Podbean app (which is free and allows you to download podcasts). The obvious big streaming sites exist and now is the time to share them with your friends, see if they have discounts or get those free trials. Also, your local news might have some free documentaries on their websites. There are most likely also books you haven’t read or reread. If you don’t know where to start, you might not like my taste but let me drop a few names:
Podcasts: Welcome to Nightvale, The Magnus Archives
Shows: Good Omens (prime), Preacher (prime), Umbrella Academy (Netflix), How To Sell Drugs Online Fast (Netflix), Obviously Supernatural and Dr Who for a rerun (on Burning Series.to)
Also, because i know Tumblr: If you are taking this opportunity to find every single slash fic on this planet and consume it, in gods name, appreciate the creators and writers that took the time to bring you content. Leave kudos, credit artists, leave nice comments, etc.
3. Do not despair.
Yes, the news are terrifying and staying updated is important, but your mental health is, too. I recommend „Squid“, an app that summarizes news around the world. They have a daily report function with which you can inform yourself quickly and hopefully without fake sensational headlines or panic. I also recommend „Good News“, a news app specifically for positive reports if you feel like giving up on humanity. I am not saying you should ignore the news or the reality of the situation, but the last days or weeks have been honestly depressing and if you already struggle with an outlook on life, dwelling in the bad will not help.
4. Socialize. No matter what.
Discord is free and they have extended some lifestreaming features to match the demand. Amino has communities for any interest with Chats, Voice chats, Community–made Quizzes and more. Mastondon is a (apparently) more secure twitter alternative if you dont wanna use twitter. Twitch has live streams to almost any topic (i reccomend the one that shows Bob Ross shows 24/7) and even a live stream can make you feel less alone. Scedule meetings with friends over there, regularly, just don’t succumb to the loneliness this situation might bring.
5. Learn
Sign up for Duolingo or take it up again and have an adorable owl threaten your family while learning some spanish. Get Mimo, an app much like Duolingo that teaches the basics of programming. Get into ASL, Write a DnD campaign, try that hobbie you haven’t had time for, write motivational messages for your friends that need to work, whatever it is. Try something new, if school or work aren’t keeping you busy enough.
Additionally, try to do physical stuff too. Get into knitting, sewing, wood carving, cooking, baking, prep meals, reorganize your room, paint your stuff, start a bullet journal, start a group, get addicted to tik tok, volunteer,
6. Sleep
Now, this is probably the most important point: Keep a scedule! Especially if school just closed for you and you aren’t already sick, just sitting at home, do not give into the temptation to live nocturnal. Yes, free time is fun, but dont cut yourself off. Get up at a reasonable time if you can, dress and shower and have a scedule. Try not to loose track of time and under/over sleep. If your body demands more sleep the first few days or weeks, that can be just stress compensation but try not to loose yourself too much.
7. Help if you can.
Still healthy and of good financial status or immune sytem? Others arent. Especially the homeless and unensured are at great risk. Find your local organization and donate your time or money if you can spare it. Try to support friends by informing them, keep unreasonable cases out of the hospitals and look after high risk people in your life (those can include but are not limited to: elderly, small kids, pregnant people, trans men/nbys that bind, those with autoimmune disorder, those with a weakened immune system, those in contact with a lot of people in their job)
Many organisations are also looking to either find shelter to animals or other people. If you can take them in, you are doing humanity a favour.
also, if you can, dont be that person to panic buy. This only forces other people into panic buying too. Buy reasonable amounts of what you need and be humble in your choices, if you can. Be mindful of other people. If you can afford/know how to cook at home, dont take the readymade meals from people that cant. In gods name, dont buy up food for people with special needs, like stockpiling gluten free flour just cause you’re on a diet and leaving nothing to those with allergies.)
8. Know your rights
Keep contact with others in your line of work and what procedures they are taking. Dont let anyone bully you into working in hostile environments, if you can. Find out how/when to take sick days for this and when/how your work or school will continue again. This is a special situation and in many cases, there are special rules implemented to help. Dont let anyone fuck you over.

{Special} College!AU Jungwoo
major: library sciences + information
minor: entomology (much to ten’s horror)
sports: was invited to the soccer team by yuta, but he’d rather play it for fun not for competition. likes to go to yoga - tries to get a grumpy taeil to go with him
clubs: showed up to chinese culture club so he could see sicheng - who kicked him out after three minutes, him and yuta both go to earth coalition meetings because they like nature, and sometimes jungwoo will pop by the conspiracy club to hear people ramble about aliens (he thinks they’re cool)
jungwoo tends to confuse students who arent his close friends because,,,,,,
he’s really really kind and affectionate - but he also seems like he’s always stuck in some kind of daydream too
like he’ll be in class, and he’ll be able to answer questions and take tests
but his voice is so cushiony soft and fluttery that it seems almost like he’s answering in some soft pink haze
or maybe that’s just his aura
it’s so ?????
but his friends know that ,,,, that’s just how jungwoo is
he’s incredibly open and relaxed - never anxious about anything but also,,,,,never really cautious either
so it’s natural for him to walk into things - or say whatever it is that crosses his mind
like the amount of times he’s just randomly said “i love you” outloud to taeil? doyoung? jaehyun?
like on public transit or in front of literal professors
everyone getting into a frenzy because wait - wait you love yuta??? and yuta waving his hands around like nO nO he means it like friends like it’s just what he says
there have been many rumors about jungwoo and like,,,,every member of nct on campus
but also it’s not just nct - jungwoo is just naturally touchy - naturally inclined to show his appreciation with little nudges and batting eyelashes
and he was born to flirt really
not in a,,,,,,,, pick you up kind of way or a sleazy ‘let me slide into the dms’ kind of way
just,,,,,,,a kind of enchanting way
that makes people feel all warm and cared for ,,,,, his handsome face and soft voice makes you feel like you’ve just been hugged by the worlds softest teddy bear
his major is library sciences because ,,, everyone agrees ,,, it matches him pretty well
archiving, reading, and helping others all are things jungwoo enjoys doing
because it’s not dramatic at all - it’s systematic and having a routine soothes jungwoo
plus his tall, slim figure in a grandpa sweater and some cute big framed glasses librarian-chic circa the 80s,,,,,,,,he’d be so cute c’mon
is that friend who gets books down from the top shelf and hands them to haechan with a smile
and haechan is clutching the book like “give me your legs. let me be 5′11.”
jungwoo: what
haechan: nothing. long legs. dont look at me.
because he’s also a nature fan - everything from mountain hikes to visiting public gardens
he’s not afraid of bugs
at all
taeyong has on several occasions texted him to come get a spider out of his dorm
and everytime, you know jungwoo does the thing where he puts the paper under the spider and then a cup over it and releases it back outside
saying something like “live free, small one” while taeyong wide eyed beside him is like “don’t. come. back. bitch.” tgkdjflsk
so at first he just took some classes from the entomology minor for fun - until he sorta accidentally completed all the credits for it anyway
so that’s why he just added it on at the end of the sem like look guys i got a minor :)
ten: cool for what?!
jungwoo: bug studies :)
ten, one eye twitching: t-t-t-heres bu-bugs on c-campus
jungwoo got invited to a couple of sports teams - he’s pretty strong and pretty fit, but the whole aggressive competition of it puts jungwoo off
he’d rather just do something for fun, and really dislikes being forced to train or anything like that
took up yoga after reading one of sicheng’s textbooks and now he goes to student run classes - always trying to bring taeil along
because quote unquote - taeil’s tiny body is riddled with stress and maybe, possibly demonic energy
you bet he’s also the type to do an hour of yoga or go on a long walk and come back and eat like. everything from the cafeteria
and then steal some of johnny’s hidden snacks
and then on top of that ask lucas to buy him a milkshake
he’s a bottomless pit when it comes to his stomach,,,,it’s a scientific mystery
he’s got an ability to befriend anyone, although sometimes his need to cling on can be a bit much,,,,
poor jaehyun’s hand fell asleep when they all went to watch a movie and jungwoo just basically leaned all his weight onto him and jaehyun is too nice to say anything
but he’s also got a little bit of a problem,,,,,,,
he’s oblivious
completely and utterly oblivious
which is why it’s a headache and much more to have a crush on jungwoo
which you have had since hmmm let’s see oh right
FRESHMAN ORIENTATION
when you’d arrived late, panicked, with no one to sit with let alone anywhere to sit
since the auditorium was overflowing
till a tall boy with a gentle smile and matching voice took your wrist and asked
“would you like this seat?”
ever since then you’d dreamed of that moment - of the boy who’d sensed your absolute dread and embarrassment
and who let you sit down, while he stood in the aisle - hands in his pockets - barely listening to the whole welcome celebration
you had practically embedded jungwoo’s face into your mind
because he was in ever aspect - your type
your dreamy, prince with a heart made a gold
the only problem was,,,,,,,,,you were more than ready to confess but any attempt you made
was thwarted
not by rivals or even jungwoos friends - who all were cheering you on
(all of nct claimed you were basically as transparent as a window with your feelings - hearts swirling your head whenever jungwoo as much as blinked)
it was always jungwoo who just,,,,,could not grasp the situation for the life of him
like that time you had been invited out to the seasonal fair and jaehyun and yuta pulled you aside on the way there
whispering eagerly that they’d hatched a plan to get you and jungwoo alone during one of the firework celebrations
you’d felt your heart race - almost burst from your chest
but you were thankful that his friends seemed just as excited for you
and when jaehyun had “casually” told everyone - but you and jungwoo - to follow him over to the food stands
you had hesitated, but turned to tell jungwoo there was something you needed to say
he’d looked down, eyes a soft autumn brown
“we’re all alone”
“y-yeah,,,,,,i think this might be my chance to tell you that i like-”
the gigantic bursting noise from the first firework had made it hard for your already shaking and tiny voice to have been heard
jungwoo, distracted by it, had just marveled up at the colors in the night sky
and pointed them out
“you should tell me after the fireworks, i couldnt hear you well”
“ok,,”
but that didn’t happen,,,,not when right after the ceremony ended - jungwoo had spotted taeil in the crowd and pulled you along toward him
yuta and jaehyun, when meeting up later, could tell by the dejected look on your face that nothing went as planned
and you just shrugged it off - there would be more times,,,,,,hopefully
and there were
they just always ended up badly
like when you’d tried to give jungwoo valentines chocolates with a hand written love letter but the box - having been in your bag the whole day - had melted all over the letter
making it unreadable and sticky
or when taeyong had offered you to be jungwoo’s tutor for this elective he had to take
and you showed up diligently everyday to the library for a week - till jungwoo announced one day through text that he’d been switched into a much easier class
you had even once written “i like you so much” on his cast when he’d had to wear it after an accident in the library
and jungwoo had read it - in front of you - smiled up and said
“what a nice thing to say to a friend”
at some point you’d just,,,,,,,come to terms with the fact that either jungwoo really couldnt take a hint or that he was trying the nicest ways to reject you
which hurt,,,,,but you tried to cheer yourself up with the sentiment that at least you got to be his friend
and through liking him you’d gotten to make even more friends with the great guys of nct
but everytime you were alone - studying your textbook or working on a project
and you’d find yourself thinking back to orientation
jungwoo’s touch on your skin, his voice echoing in your ears, the natural feeling of consideration and sweetness that shone off of him like diamonds
it made you grip your pen a little to hard, because the memory - instead of filling you to the brim with bliss like it used
now just,,,,,,,left you feeling like something sharp had wedged its way into your chest
whats worse was,,,,,because you’d always been one to wear your emotions on your sleeve
everyone knew you were hurting
even though you put in all the effort to hide it
taeyong had come to calling your smiles forced and even sicheng, who liked to keep his nose out of other peoples emotional businesses, had patted your back whenever jungwoo was around
whispering that you just had to keep strong
yuta and jaehyun, who’d you grown close to, and who also knew jungwoo well
were the most sympathetic
“i just,,,,i dont think he’s rejecting you”
yuta would insist and you’d just slump foreward
“then what? he really doesnt know? i could shout it from the liberal arts building rooftop and he’d still think i was joking,,,”
jaehyun sighs
“i cant tell, but i dont think you should give up. not until jungwoo either gives you a straight answer or ,,,,,,,, he just starts dating someone else”
at this, yuta perks up, his already mischievous features curling up into a grin
“hey - that’ right! jungwoo hasnt ever expressed interest in anyone else!”
“doesn’t he just,,,,,show love to everyone? i think it’d be hard to tell who he doesnt like ,,,,,”
you mutter, feeling the dark cloud of one-sided feelings cast heavy over your shoulders
“i mean,,,he’s nice and affectionate - but in a puppy kind of way. like he’ll give attention to those around him, but it’s never you know - it’s never romantic.”
you want to tell yuta and jaehyun that it’s fine. you need to sulk and then you’ll really pick yourself up and it’ll be fine
but neither of them look like they’re going to have it - and to be honest neither of them look like they believe you’ll get over it
because your love for jungwoo comes from the most pure place
and a love like that is hard to come by
maybe they just pity me or maybe they just want jungwoo to get a significant other to focus on
you think, huffing out a sigh
“hey i think there’s one way we can find out if jungwoo’s interested!”
your eyes dart up to meet yuta’s
jaehyun clasps his hands and gives his friend a look as well
“every semester the college campus votes for superlatives right? and one of them is cutest couple! the prize is like a two hundred dollar shopping coupon too - we should ask jungwoo if he’ll enter with you!”
you shoot up and shake your head - putting your hands out
“yuta we can’t just ask jungwoo to pretend to be my boyfriend!”
“yeah yuta,,,,,,that might not be the best way to find out jungwoo’s true fee-”
but yuta is dead set, he takes his phone out and hums as he scrolls through his contacts
clicking on one his fingers fly across his phone keyboard
and in a matter of seconds there’s a notification
you and jaehyun lean over to see
‘huh i didn’t know jungwoo was dating - but sure, ill put them in as a couple. im going to need their picture though, for the voting.’
‘no worries!! one of our buddies is a film major who will take some and ill send them your way!’
‘ok, so jungwoo and-’
your eyes widen when you see your name
and yuta closes his phone before you can sink back down into your seat
and jaehyun looks worriedly between you two
“no all we have to do is tell jungwoo! ill do that - jaehyun, go get johnny. we need our photographer!”
you feel something between adrenaline and anxiety when jungwoo walks through the door and into johnnys room
yuta jumps up before you can even greet jungwoo
and throws a hand around his friend
“listen - we all really want that coupon and you make the cutest couple so - let’s do our best to win, yeah?!”
jungwoo doesnt really acknowledge him
he more or less fixes his gaze on you
and it makes you feel hot under the collar of your shirt
“are you ok with this? if it makes you uncomfortable, we shouldnt do it.”
he says, calm and gentle
you want to say; are you kidding? couple posing with you? this is my dream,,,,,,,,
but at the same time it feels so weird ,,,, doing this,,,,, for fake
“johnny get your camera, let’s get the two lovebirds ready~”
yuta drags jungwoo off before you can answer
and johnny turns to you with his nikon
“i think you’d be better of just asking jungwoo out than going through all this trouble.”
“ive tried asking him out,,,,it always backfires,,,”
you mumble and johnny shrugs
“well you know i love drama and i can smell it on this situation, c’mon lets go take photos with your boyfriend”
your heart pounds inside your chest at the word
jungwoo? my boyfriend? if only that were true
yuta picks some secluded part of the campus for the photos
there are nicely lined trees in the back and jungwoo looks over at you when you sort of hunch over
“i know they want the coupon, but i would rather you tell me if this is too much-”
he voices his concern again and you shake your head
“no no, im fine. are you?”
he blinks a bit before letting his handsome face glow with a smile
“sure, if you are ok - so am i.”
yuta positions himself beside johnny, proclaiming that he knows what will make you and jungwoo look like a realiistic couple
when jungwoo looks down to fix his shoes, yuta winks your way and mouths
‘this will totally work’
but you,,,,,,,,dont feel so sure
the first poses are pretty innocent and sweet
holdings hands while looking up at the sky, a shot of you and jungwoo sharing a laugh, a pose where jungwoo is reaching out to touch your cheek
but then yuta gets,,,devilish
“back hug them!”
“why don’t you pretend like you’re leaning in for a kiss and then put your hand out to block it!”
“oh oh lets have you sit in jungwoo’s lap!”
the last one almost sets you (quite literally) on fire
“yuta that’s too mu-”
but jungwoo is sitting down on a bench nearby, motioning that you can join him
you stare down and jungwoo gives another comforting smile
but then he says
“it’s just for the picture, don’t worry”
and suddenly this whole charade, this whole dream moment for you just shatters
this is all fake. he feels nothing toward me.
“i cant”
you cast your eyes down and johnny sets his camera down
yuta looks like he’s desperately trying to think of something to say to ease the sudden tension
but it’s too late
“youre right, even for a fake photo this is too muc-”
“no,,,i cant do this.”
you look at yuta, but he’s blurry
everything is blurry from the tears that start welling up in your eyes
“i,,im just going to go. im sorry.”
and with that you’re running away, absolutely mortified that you even went through with this whole ploy
you dont look back
you dont see jungwoo get up, look at yuta and johnny and ask if he should chase after you
you dont see the sudden horror on his face - because the idea of hurting you,,,,,,,,,is something jungwoo would never do
you dont see any of it
you’re stuck in your own thoughts
you’d just wanted jungwoo to know how you felt
you didn’t want to force him into a weird situation like that, you didn’t want to hear the words
“it’s just for the picture”
because for you it wasnt that - you liked him so much that every touch of his fingers against your skin
ever smile
every word he spoke
it made you feel like the world around you was bursting with hearts and love
making you weak at the knees, making you absolutely lovestruck
but you think,,,,,if there’s one thing you got out of it
of seeing how easily jungwoo could do all those poses, how he thought so little of you as an interest
that he could even let you sit on his lap with no qualm at all,,,,,,,
you really didn’t mean as much to him as he meant to you
he just saw you as a friend
and your fear of him, all these times, quietly rejecting you - it was true
you could thank yuta for at least helping you see that
you get a couple of texts and missed calls afterwords
all of them are worried and from yuta, jaehyun, and even johnny
who awkwardly asks the group if they still want to submit what photos they do have
but none are from jungwoo
go figure, he’s probably so annoyed at me now. making him do this stupid photo-shoot, enter this stupid contest, and then having me runaway like some big baby
you’re so embarrassed that you turn your phone off and tell yourself that from now on
you’re going to do your best to forget kim jungwoo
no matter what it takes
of course,,,,,life never works the way you want it to
and so, as if by some cruel joke, the remainder of the semester you end up bumping into jungwoo everywhere
at the library - where you made sure to go on his off day, but it turned out he’d switched shifts recently
in the cafeteria - where for some reason it was jungwoo of all people sitting in your favorite seat by the window
at the bubble tea place around the corner which was usually to packed to even get into
somehow, jungwoo had squeezed in past those students and ended up shoulder to shoulder with you
each time trying to greet you with the usual serene, angelic smile of his
while you made up some bizarre excuse to get away
it was like your life had flipped upside down
instead of jumping on chances to be close to him, you were avoiding him like the plague
until finally - you couldnt do it anymore
“talk. to. jungwoo.”
yuta says, dropping his backpack down on the table in front of you and leaning over to narrow his eyes
you try to keep your own gaze on your textbook
but yuta is faster and stronger then you, so when he snatches it from under your nose
you have no choice but to comply
“why? i dont want to keep making a fool of myself. plus im,,,im really getting over him!”
yuta huffs some hair from his face
“i doubt that. i just said his name and your whole body looked like it was going through a shockwave”
you try to grit your teeth, think of some kind of comeback
but yuta is right - your heart’s deadset on jungwoo
no matter how many other boys youve tried to introduce to it
how youve lied in bed on instagram looking at all the campus cuties and none of them ever even matched up to jungwoo in your opinion
“yuta - it’s my destiny to love him and get rejected by  him. i cant fix it”
“yes you can. just talk to him.”
“what is talking going to do-”
yuta looks at you so intently that you nearly topple out of your chair
“believe me ,,,,,, this time i promise it’s going to change things for you.”
so you agree
not because yuta kind of maybe intimidated you a little back there,,,
but because if anything you feel guilty knowing now that jungwoo does want to talk to you
you’d just assumed you disappearing from his life wouldnt matter,,,,,,
who were you to him anyway? right?
but there you are, standing outside of his dorm
palms sweaty,,,,,your heart beat so loud you think the RA is going to come over and tell you to keep it down
and it takes you ten whole minutes to even knock on the door
jungwoo opens it, his hair looks a little wet as if he’s just taken a shower
and he’s got simple joggers and a long sleeve shirt on
he looks so natural and relaxed,,,,,yet still so perfectly handsome,,,,,
“yu-yuta said you wanted to talk to me”
you get to it, thinking that you just want to hear whatever it is jungwoo has to say quickly
so you can curl up under your sheets and bawl your eyes out about it later
“i did, i know we saw each other a couple of times but you were always busy so -”
he shrugs easily and takes a set on his bed
you kind of shift your weight, standing in the middle of the room
feeling like the small walls of the dorm are going to close in on you at any second
“s-so whats up?”
you feign cheeriness to try and get past the butterflies gnawing at your stomach
“i want to apologize,,,,im sorry about the whole photo-shoot thing. but more than that, im sorry that i was so ,,,”
jungwoo seems to struggle to find the word, he scrunches up his nose
and you internally tell cupid to not shoot another arrow at your heart - you knew he was cute
but being this close and seeing him be this cute all ,,,,, domestic and what not,,,,too much
“im sorry that i was so dumb”
the choice of ‘dumb’ makes you a bit confused
“wh-what do you mean?”
he gets up and suddenly you’re aware again that ontop of being ultra cute,,,,jungwoo is pretty tall
and when he steps closer to you, he looks into your eyes and gosh the whole world is up in those pretty browns ,,,
“i just thought you were being nice, i just thought you were happy to be around all of us i didnt know you felt,,,,,that way about me”
the blood in your veins goes cold
“w-who told you?”
“it came out as an accident,,,you really  cant let jaehyun around too much soju,,”
more than anything you’re surprised it wasnt nakamoto yuta - but beside that
you take in a deep breath
brace yourself. this is the real rejection
but instead of any “sorry i dont feel the same way”’s you get jungwoo’s soft hand against your cheek
you shut your eyes - don’t be too nice about it kim jungwoo, just tell me straight that you -
“i like you too”
there isnt anyway to describe the emotion that comes over you like a wave
it’s a mix of a million different things
it feels cold and hot, makes you want to cry and laugh
but instead all you do is slip down to the floor, a concerned jungwoo following you down
“a-are you ok?”
he presses his hand to your forehead, but you just try to shake your head
“im just,,,really shocked”
“that i like you back?! why?”
there isn’t really an answer for that, when you think about it, you just assumed jungwoo was going to be untouchable forever
“b-because no matter how many times i tried to tell you,,,,,,it felt like i was being pushed away -”
“because im a fool”
you shoot your eyes up to meet his
“no, you’re not! i just - i just never got it right you know, i never got the moment-”
jungwoo lets his hand come up into your hair and suddenly he’s tugging you close
so that you can rest your head against his chest
“when i think about it,,,,,,i probably just told myself not to believe it. not to fall for all your kindness, because i thought that you treated us all like that. me, yuta, jaehyun - i didnt want to think i was special to you”
you bring a hand up to hold the front of jungwoo’s shirt
“but you are special, kim jungwoo ive loved you since first sight”
he chuckles and the rumble in his chest is comforting
“since first sight? i think,,,,,,i think you charmed me too”
you’re too shy to kiss jungwoo in the moment,,,,maybe it’s because you think you’ve used up your luck
getting to hear the boy of your dreams say he likes you back
but you do let the fluttering feeling carry you on cloud nine for a long time
so much so that when you return to your dorm - even your roommate thinks you’re sick or even worse - going insane
jungwoo waits outside of your class to take you on your first date
which is to his favorite bookstore in the city
you knew he was studying to work in the library, but you never knew just how much jungwoo liked books
and just how good he looked among them
like he was just browsing for books and the manager offered him a part time job as a model for the store,,,,
to which jungwoo laughed, squeezing your hand a little and saying
“i dont think im quite the best at photo-shoots”
speaking of which,,,,,johnny does submit a photo he took,,,,,and you and jungwoo do win
but that 200 coupon? yuta “lost it”
jungwoo doesnt fret it too much, holds you back from launching yourself at yuta’s bookbag where you’re sure it is
and whispers against your ear that it’s ok,,,,he’ll take you out to eat and it’ll be his treat
and he’ll get yuta back for the both of you
(and he does. sweet, daydreaming jungwoo has a scheming side. and it comes out when he swaps yuta’s shaving cream with sardine scented hand cream)
jungwoo is a very interesting person,,,,aside from being able to just heal others with his warm presence
he’s also quite into the odd
any date you go on - jungwoo is sure to make it special
coffee runs? he asks you to play a game with him while you wait for your drinks by picking out strangers and giving them weird background stories
study date? jungwoo always gets you some kind of unique kind of stationary,,,,totally the type to just gift you a notebook with snoopy on it and be like “doesnt it look like your boyfriend?”
movie date? jungwoo has you pick a number he’s thinking of and whatever movie is that number on the showlist board is the one you’ll see
(cut to you clinging to jungwoo for dear life when you guys pick a horrible b-list horror movie)
(jungwoo kisses the top of your head, unphased by it afterwords and says if you’re still scared you can sleep over at his dorm and he’ll protect you from the monsters)
(,,,,,,afterall jungwoo is a natural flirt cough cough,,,,,,)
as he is an affectionate person, light touches and soft intimacies are a MUST with him
at first he tests his boundaries with you,,,,but soon enough it’s obvious that jungwoo could just brush his hands over yours
and it’d make you go completely dizzy with happiness
always has his hand on the small of your back
- it’s just a habit he has
when you’re talking with the group, he’ll put it there
when you’re sitting and falling asleep over your books, he’ll put it there and apply a little pressure with his thumb to get your attention back up
he also really enjoys running his lips over any part of you that he sees,,,,
the thing is he does this so absentmindedly
that he’ll do it in front of others
and get you in a flustered flurry
because you’ll just be talking to mark about an upcoming test and feel jungwoo’s lips at the base of your neck
your face turning firetruck red
while mark ducks his head into his hands and runs off, apologizing for “ruining the moment”
jungwoo: ? is he ok
you, head in your hands: u h idk but,,,i,,,im not
he loves when you wear anything that’s slightly too big because it’ll slip off your shoulder or show the back of your neck
and jungwoo is like : must kiss
you decide to try yoga with him since he keeps saying how much it helps him
but turns out jungwoo is very flexible
and you’re ,,, not there yet
so you tumble over yourself and maybe cant do some of the stretches
but jungwoo thinks you look so damn cute trying your hardest for him
totally the type to invite you over to binge watch a series you both like,,,,,but somehow you both end up on youtube watching a series on aliens,,,,
likes outdoors dates - likes just walking places with you, hand in hand
admiring the changing of the seasons, stealing kisses when the light is red and you cant cross the street just yet
but as much as jungwoo is like “let’s go hiking!”
and you’re like ,,,,,,,, “hahaha how about you hike and ill wait at the base of the mountain in the snack shop”
but if he really asks you, with his fluttering soft voice and those eyes that look up through pretty lashes
like you’ll do it
you’ll be sweating and hating it - but for jungwoo you’re pretty sure you’d do anything
and it’s crazy to know that he’d do anything for you too
because people always assume it’s hard to date someone who seems so,,,,,,unattached and like,,,,,in his own world
but the reality is, jungwoo is very observant when it comes to you
he knows what you like, he knows when to keep you safe and how to protect you
and most of all, he knows how to tell what you’re feeling
you though after all those oblivious attempts to confess to him, it’d be hard to have him read how you’re doing
but if one thing is wrong - jungwoo senses it
and does his best to cheer you up
totally the boyfriend who takes your phone and changes his name to something cute and childish
bought you guys matching snoopy keychains
tried to act aloof about it - but you know he really likes it when you clip it onto your bag
jungwoo,,,,,,admits that he might not be the best romantic - even though this is a lie - everything about him screams romantic
especially when he has you come over
and instead of studying or quizzing him like you both planned

he asks and you nod
“i know we all said you were being totally obvious with your feelings about jungwoo,,,,,,but nowadays i think he’s the one who has heart eyes for you”
jungwoo tells you a bit about his minor and you’re like ,,,, bugs ,,,, really
and he’s like it’s not that weird - they’re pretty interesting
and you’re a little iffy about it
but one of your dates is to a butterfly observatory
in which you watch as jungwoo let’s a butterfly settle on his finger
and you think that even insects can sense the inherit sweetness of jungwoo’s character
you’re a little scared when one lands on your nose, but jungwoo takes a photo
and to this day it’s his home screen on his phone
you tell jungwoo about how you tried to give him chocolates once but they melted all over you
and he feels so bad he buys you one of those gigantic bars with a two pound bag of chocolates
and you’re like jungwoo!!!! it’s fine!!!

Under the Mask- Prologue
Author Note: Here is the start to a Masquerade AU co-created by Artssoon_symphony (IG) and myself. The writing will switch between the two of us, which should be an interesting experiment and great fun! We’re starting off with a prologue chapter written by me!
Pairing: Analogical
Word Count: ~1100
TW: Memory degradation, angst, death mention
Chapter 1: Prologue
“You’re fidgeting, Lo.”
An older gent, eyes fixed on the distance, grumbled softly and looked down at his hand. Weathered and ink-stained fingertips traced the cool edges of the stone pendant at his chest. The natural amethyst point set in silver hung from a meticulously polished silver chain had begun to cloud and lose its color years ago. Logan learned later that quartz naturally lost its luster with time and wear, but that never stopped him from wearing it every day for more than forty years. It was his constant. Every morning, he gently removed it from a fine wooden box, inlaid with mother of pearl- a retirement gift from his former master- and strung the chain around his neck where it hung below his well-worn but neatly pressed shirt.
In times of stress or disquiet, his hand would absentmindedly rest on his chest where the pendant lay under layers of cotton and tweed. It was only in the privacy of his home he would wear it freely, letting his eye catch moments of sunlight hitting the facets just right. Something about the weight of the stone against his skin put his tightly-wound mind at ease. Knowing it was there was all the assurance he needed to get through the most difficult of days. It was his anchor.
Logan wrapped his fingers around the amethyst for a moment and released it with a heavy sigh, resting his hand on his husband’s knee. Virgil could feel the effects of Logan’s anxieties more keenly than the man himself. He could see the intrinsic muscles in his jaw tighten, his brow lower minutely, his gaze turn to some invisible object in the distance- those were obvious signs. It was when his hands sought that poor old rock around his neck, Virgil knew there was something heavier on his mind.
He gently slipped Logan’s glasses from his nose and folded them neatly onto the table. Brushing the pad of his thumb along Logan’s brow, he could see the tension release from his features ever so slightly. Virgil knew every way to calm him. In their early years, he would have never guessed that the steel-mannered valet of some wealthy elite would respond so warmly to touch. Logan was a man that kept his distance in every respect, but Virgil was the first to close the gap. Though some may argue it was Logan who made the first move. And some may say it was an act of “other forces”.
Virgil traced the line of his jaw and placed a soft kiss on his lips to draw out a hint of a smile. Logan sighed again, taking Virgil’s hand in his, pressing it to his lips. “I know what you’re thinking, dear. I’m fine.”
“I’m much too tired to be playing this game with you, Lo,” Virgil said with a smirk, letting Logan place their hands in his lap. “Just tell me what’s on your mind so I can move on with my day.”
“It’s nothing, my gem. I’m just…” Logan’s voice trailed as his hand found its way back to the pendant.
Virgil shifted to face him, tired eyes tinged with worry. “Just?”
“I’m just trying to remember.”
Virgil’s chest tightened just seeing the look on his husband’s face. He was such a strong, resolute man of principle and intelligence. Seeing the one person he could only describe as the very foundation keeping him grounded through all these years waver was, at times, too much. He had always looked to Logan for stability. In his mind, there wasn’t another man on earth who knew more about the world than him. To know that archive in his mind, all that knowledge, was losing hold was overwhelming. Those moments of seeing the spark in his eyes dull, like when he just loses his place in a book, makes his mind race. To even entertain the possibility of losing him was impossible. Watching Logan’s frustration build at his own deterioration is heartbreaking.
The only thing worse was that despite it all, Logan still took the time to comfort and care for his husband. It was ingrained in him. He knew in his bones that this was more important than anything fate threw at him. Seeing to his partner’s happiness was of absolute import in his eyes. That much he knew with certainty, even if his mind was no more sound than sand against the waves.
Logan feared very little. He saw death as an inevitability. He understands that time is in constant motion pulling them ever forward. These were hard truths he never fought.
What truly scared him, however, was losing Virgil, losing years of memories. Years of building a life in the face of judgement and uncertainty.
Until the day he met him, Logan’s life was that of service. He felt neither joy nor displeasure. Black and white. His work was his reality and this suited him fine. He didn’t need more. He didn’t know how to want more because everything he could need was provided for him.
Until the night of a… The night of a...
“Lo, dear, what’s wrong?” Virgil sank from his seat to his knees, placing himself in front of Logan, reaching for the tears welling in his husband’s eyes. “Please tell me.” He tried to keep his voice even and calm, but the crack in his words gave him away.
Logan took Virgil’s hands in his and closed his eyes with a sad smile as if trying to pull at the threads of some distant memory. “Do you remember,” he began softly, “how we met?”
He opened his eyes to a low chuckle, meeting his watery gaze with Virgil’s.
“Of course.”
Logan shifted in his seat and beckoned his love to sit next to him so he could feel his gentle heat against his skin. He grasped the pendant again, unsure of how to continue. “Will you tell me?”
Virgil settled next to him, looping his arm through Logan’s and resting his head on his shoulder. His hair brushed Logan’s cheek as Virgil calmed his breathing, matching the comforting rhythm of the rise and fall of Logan’s chest. Steady, strong, constant.
“It was a masquerade ball,” Virgil began.
“It was…”
“And in a room full of people, you stood out.”
“I did?”
“You were the only one not wearing your mask.”
“Oh.”
Virgil looked up to see the start of a blush spread across his cheeks. Logan leaned forward and replaced his glasses on his nose in a sorry attempt to covertly cover his face.
“And you looked less than pleased to be there,” Virgil continued.
“I wasn’t. Not right away.”
“I guess the night did… improve, didn’t it…?”
Logan slipped his arm from around Virgil’s and pulled him closer to his side. He could feel the breath hitch in his husband’s chest as he melted into the hold.
“It did,” Logan responded, voice just above a whisper. It was coming back in fits and bursts. He wanted to hold onto this while he could.
“Tell me. What happened next?”

Entertainment heat wave is coming this summer: What to watch for | Entertainment

Entertainment heat wave is coming this summer: What to watch for | Entertainment
Tumblr media
Remember 2019, when hot girl summer became a motto for living with confidence?
Well, with life getting closer to normal and vaccines nudging the pandemic into — fingers crossed — the rear-view mirror, 2021’s entertainment calendar for the next few months has a similar mood.
Call it a hot everything summer.
Blockbuster movies are returning to theaters. Live concerts are set to resume. Television and streaming shows are back to being a nice part of the mix, not a sole entertainment lifeline. And with travel heating up again, beach books can actually be read on a faraway beach.
To navigate this soaring heat index for fun, here is a list of recommendations that are sunny, breezy, steaming and sizzling. You get the idea.
Hot Jeff Daniels summer
Michigan’s resident acting great always keeps it real — remember his plaid dad shirt at February’s virtual Golden Globes? His latest project evokes his home state’s ethos of blue-collar endurance. “American Rust,” a nine-episode series premiering Sept. 12 on Showtime, stars Daniels as the police chief of a Rust-Belt Pennsylvania town who is feeling “ticked off and kind of jumpy” when a murder investigation tests his loyalties. If the preview looks a bit like HBO’s gritty “Mare of Easttown,” that’s a very good thing.
Hot goofy summer
In real life, metro Detroit native Tim Robinson could be a calm, collected guy. But as a sketch comedian, he’s made an art form out of wildly overreacting to life’s little embarrassments. “I Think You Should Leave,” his mini-masterpiece Netflix show, is back July 6 with a second season. Besides brilliantly making himself the butt of the jokes, Robinson always remembers his hometown friends. Let’s hope for repeat appearances by his pals like “Detroiters” co-star Sam Richardson and Troy’s own Oscar nominee, Steven Yeun.
Hot retro Motor City summer
The Detroit of the mid-1950s comes alive in director Steven Soderbergh’s “No Sudden Move,” available July 1 on HBO Max. The crime drama starring Don Cheadle, David Harbour, Benicio del Toro, Jon Hamm and more is about some low-level criminals given a simple assignment that draws them into a mystery that stretches to the heights of the automotive industry’s power structure. The film was shot last year in Detroit under strict COVID-19 safety measures, because Soderbergh, who filmed 1998’s “Out of Sight” here, would accept no other city as a substitute.
Hot road trip summer
Six years ago, a young waitress from Detroit created a viral Twitter thread about a bizarre journey she took to Florida with a new friend to do some freelance stripping. It was as compelling as a novel and as vivid as a movie. Cut to June 30 when “Zola” hits theaters starring Taylour Page and Riley Keough. It’s a comedy and a thriller that defies expectations and makes J-Lo’s “Hustlers” seem mild. Director Janicza Bravo and screenplay co-writer Jeremy O. Harris have created a raunchy adventure that still respects A’Ziah (Zola) King as a strong woman and original writing voice.
Hot action dad summer
Yes, Matt Damon is now old enough to play a Liam Neeson-esque outraged father out for justice. In “Stillwater,” Damon is a worker for an Oklahoma oil rig who must travel to France to try and clear his daughter (Abigail Breslin) of murder charges. Think “Taken,” if it were a serious drama directed and co-written by Tom McCarthy of “Spotlight” fame. It comes out July 30, just in time to make Damon’s fans from his “Good Will Hunting” days feel ancient.
Hot reboot summer
It has been almost a decade since “Gossip Girl” ended its run, which is way too long to be without fashion tips from impossibly beautiful rich kids. The newly reimagined “Gossip Girl” on HBO Max arrives July 8 with some notable improvements, like the inclusiveness of its cast of newcomers. But it’s bringing back the original narrator, Kristen Bell (who grew up in Huntington Woods), as the voice of the title character with the hidden identity.
Hot sweating summer
Sweating is a bodily function, but what exactly is it all about? “The Joy of Sweat: The Strange Science of Perspiration,” out July 13, will explore the biology, history and marketing behind the moisture that makes us glow (to use a polite term). It covers everything from the role of stress in sweat to deodorant research that involves people who can sniff out, literally, the effectiveness of a product. Since the New York Times recommended the book as one of its 24 summer reads, you know that author Sarah Everts did sweat the details.
Hot Olympic star summer
The 2021 Tokyo Games, which run July 23-Aug. 8, will feature the world’s best gymnast, Simone Biles. She still enjoys competing, but quarantining gave her some time to improve her work-life balance, as she told Glamour for its June cover story (which comes with a dazzling photo spread of Biles). “Before I would only focus on the gym. But me being happy outside the gym is just as important as me being happy and doing well in the gym. Now it’s like everything’s coming together.” For the 24-year-old GOAT, the sky — or, maybe, gravity — is the limit.
Hot variety show summer
“What percentage of white women do you hate? And there is a right answer.” That was among the questions posed by internet sensation Ziwe to her first guest, Fran Lebowitz, on the current Showtime series that carries her name. Combining interviews, sketches and music, “Ziwe” deploys comedy to illuminate America’s awkwardness on issues of race and politics. The results are hilarious, so find out about Ziwe now before her next project arrives, a scam-themed comedy for Amazon called “The Nigerian Princess.”
Hot ice road summer
Take the driving skills of the reality series “Ice Road Truckers” and add one stoic dose of Liam Neeson and you’ve got “The Ice Road,” which premiered Friday on Hulu. The adventure flick involves a collapse in a diamond mine, the miners trapped inside and the man (Neeson) who’s willing to steer his ginormous rig over frozen water to attempt a rescue mission. Crank up the AC temporarily!
Hot kindness summer
There is a better way to be a human being, and he shares a name with an Apple TV+ series. “Ted Lasso,” the fish-out-of-water sitcom about an American football coach (Jason Sudeikis) who’s drafted to lead a British soccer team returns for a second season on July 23 —the date that Lasso fans will resume their efforts to be more empathetic and encouraging, just like Ted. Only there’s a new sports psychologist for AFC Richmond who seems impervious to Ted’s charms and home-baked biscuits. She doesn’t like Ted? We’re gobsmacked!
Hot podcast summer
When Michael Che guested on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” recently, his segment was interrupted repeatedly by Dave Chappelle, who kept plugging his “The Midnight Miracle” podcast available on Luminary. What Chappelle was selling is worth the listening. “The Midnight Miracle” brings him together with his co-hosts, Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey, and his famous friends from the comedy world and beyond for funny and though-provoking conversations interspersed with music. If you were a fly on the wall of Chappelle’s home, this is what you might hear.
Hot series finale summer
The last 10 episodes of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” start airing Aug. 12 on NBC, a too-short goodbye to one of the most underrated comedies in TV history. You can give all the glory to “The Office,” but the detectives of the Nine-Nine could go toe to toe with Dunder-Mifflin’s Scranton branch in terms of quirkiness, humanity and office romances and bromances. It’s hard to pick a favorite dynamic among the characters, but the irritated father-incorrigible son vibes between Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) and Det. Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) are sublime.
Hot musical comedy summer
Keegan-Michael Key and “Saturday Night Live’s” Cecily Strong lead a star-studded cast in “Schmigadoon!,” an AppleTV+ series premiering July 16 that magically transports a backpacking couple to a land of 1940s musicals. Until Broadway reopens in September, this parody love letter to the power of musical theater should do nicely. And the premiere episode’s song “Corn Pudding”? Catchy!
Hot nostalgia tour
Hall & Oates are criss-crossing the nation with enough 1980s hits —”Maneater,” “Kiss on My List,” “I Can’t Go for That,” “You Make My Dreams Come True,” etc. — to make you want to trade your mom jeans for spandex leggings. As if they weren’t enough top-40 goodness, their opening acts are Squeeze, still pouring a cup of “Black Coffee in Bed” all these years later, and K.T. Tunstall, whose “Suddenly I See” is immortalized as the anthem of “The Devil Wears Prada.”
Hot all-female, all-Muslim punk band summer
A British import now airing on the NBC streaming spinoff Peacock, “We Are Lady Parts” would be notable alone for defying stereotypes about Muslim women. But this sitcom about an all-female, all-Muslim aspiring rock band is a gem of both representation and laughs, thanks to characters like Amina, a shy doctoral candidate in microbiology whose complaints about a guy she calls “Bashir with the good beard” inspires a song.
Hot documentary summer
While Woodstock has become synonymous with epic music gatherings, the Harlem Cultural Festival of 1969 is finally about to get the pop-culture recognition it deserves. “Summer of Soul: (…Or, When The Revolution Could Not Be Televised),” directed by the Roots drummer Questlove, will hit theaters and Hulu on July 2. It chronicles a mostly forgotten event that drew superstars like Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, the Fifth Dimension, Sly & the Family Stone and B.B. King. Using his vast knowledge of music, archival footage and interviews with performers and those who attended, Questlove has created a history lesson that’s also the best concert you’ve never seen before.
Hot Marvel summer
Once you’re all caught up with the summer streaming sensation “Loki” on Disney+, please turn your attention to two new films. “Black Widow,” the long-awaited star turn for Scarlett Johansson’s former KGB assassin Natasha Romanoff, makes its debut July 9. It’s followed by “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” set for Sept. 3 and starring Simu Liu (“Kim’s Convenience”) as the martial arts master of the title. All brought to you by the corporate global entertainment domination machine that is Marvel.
Hot biopic summer
“Respect,” starring Jennifer Hudson, arrives Aug. 13 at theaters, nearly three years to the day the world lost the Queen of Soul. Although Cynthia Erivo gave a fine performance earlier this year as Franklin in “Genius: Aretha” on the National Geographic network, the odds are good that Hudson, chosen by Franklin herself for the part, will be the definitive screen Aretha.
Hot fiction summer
Terry McMillan calls “The Other Black Girl” essential reading. Entertainment Weekly describes it as “‘The Devil Wears Prada’ meets ‘Get Out,’ with a little bit of ‘Black Mirror’ thrown in.” This debut novel by Zakiya Dalila Harris mixes office politics with suspense in its story of Nella Rogers, an editorial assistant who’s the only Black staffer at a noted publishing company. When Hazel, a new Black employee, is hired, things seem to be improving. But then Nella starts receiving ominous unsigned notes. Sounds like yet another reason to keep working from home.
Hot slow dance summer
After nearly four months on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, “Leave the Door Open” remains the song most likely to provoke a quiet storm on the dance floor. The hit single from Silk Sonic (aka Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak) may sound like a cover of a long-lost ‘70s classic R&B tune, but it’s a contemporary song that can make you forget the humidity long enough for “kissing, cuddling, rose petals in the bathtub, girl, lets jump in.”

Here’s a one-part diary, one-part itinerary, one-part aspirational documentation of what I did this past year as best I can explain it and we’ll see how well we go as we go with it. This wrapup is at least in part to look at what I did, but also to try and get a handle on my own feeling of yawning lack of accomplishment. If you didn’t do a lot this year and you get overwhelmed by lists, please don’t read this because it might make you upset. On the other hand if you want a wrapup of the kind of things I do and try to do… well, hey, checkit out.
Writing
I got back into writing daily in July, and did so consistantly throughout the year. Part of what let me get onto that schedule better was the use of a Bullet Journal, a tool I found very handy for tracking my progress as I blogged and recorded my mental health and wellbeing. A material object is very satisfying to handle, so I recommend it to anyone struggling with frantic feelings of impermanence.
Of the things I wrote, it seems the things people were most interested in were the articles on Jace, and my Amerimanga covers, with a late-year run-in for Perry’s Lock story.
Study!
I finished my honours thesis, and did well enough to get an almost-but-not-quite top rating mark. The research was considered interesting enough to serve as the basis of my PhD, which I then applied for, and my application was approved. This was a really harrowing experience – I thought writing and applying would take a few weeks at most, but it took almost two full months of work.
My Honours thesis is listed under my government name so I’m reluctant to share it as is, but the basic gist was to try and tackle the idea that when critically engaging with games, play is a paratext, rather than text. That is, there is no true textual analysis that can be done of play without recognising the input of the player, but, you can examine the play the player brings if you recognise what the player means to the reading. This wound up forming the basis of my Making Fun videos.
Reading!
I don’t read enough, I tell myself, so I did my best to read more. When I found myself reading, I made sure to share it and indulge in it, which helped me focus on reading more. Interestingly when you share reading you’re necessarily framing it, which means you’re sort of explaining it, a thing that made approaching some books a lot easier. I’d wind up at the end of a book realising I’d explained it and understood it, without noticing that’s what I was doing.
The Grasshopper: Life, Games and Utopia, by Bernard Suits
Alien Phenomenology: What It’s Like To Be A Thing, by Ian Bogost
Paratexts: Threshold of Interpretation, by Gerard Geanette
Game Play: Paratextuality in Contemporary Board Games, by Paul Booth
Understanding Media, by Marshall McLuahn (SUPER dense)
I also read some manga and comics, and some of those I’d recommend are:
Sense Art Online
Lumberjanes
Irredeemable
Top 10
I also reread Nation, by Terry Pratchett, which isn’t at all interesting because this is merely one of my favourite books and just one of the best things he ever wrote. Also, one final note to Blades in the Dark, a game book I really liked and makes me very excited.
Robots!
I made a bunch of twitter robots, which are basically an automated way of playing with text. They seem like they’d be harder than they are – and you’d be surprised once you get past a certain threshold how well they do things you forgot you told them they could do, or never realised. You can look at all of them here.
Media!
This year I made a protracted point, as well, to actually watch some TV! That may sound like a really minor thing, but TV these days is such a vast thing that there is some cool stuff there. What’s more, TV you can’t interact with and you can’t be expected to get wrong – which can make it good for relaxation and trying to diminish anxiety. I know I watched all of the first two seasons of American Horror Story back to back while in the grip of The Worries, and you would think that would be distressing but it was kind of the opposite.
This also broadened my palate and gave me more ideas for stories. As a nearly non-stop Youtube watcher as well, I’m already in the market for short, informative videomaking, which I also got into, so longer-form, higher-production stuff – even stuff like just Bob Ross was good to watch.
I also took this chance to catch up on some TV series and movies that are part of ‘the zeitgeist’ that for some reason or another I never really watched. I tried watching more anime, too, which is like TV but you can’t multitask during it, unless you watch it dubbed. And on that note, I watched Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, dubbed, and didn’t hate it. In fact, my thesis and FMA Brotherhood, as well as the work of Sideways, is what convinced me to try making Youtube videos on the subjects that interest me.
What I’m saying is I have a FMA Brotherhood video in me, but we’ll see how I go with this new editing software. Anyway.
Shirts!
I made at least 36 different t-shirt designs this year – holy nerts, that’s a lot more than I expected. My original goal was something like 1 shirt design per month – and thanks to the practice doing graphic design, I wound up making three a month.
In case you were curious, yes, these don’t really sell.
Playing Games!
I did a lot of work on my backlog of games. At the last accounting, I have 559 games in my Steam Library, and of them I have marked 229 as Completed. Note that to me, a game is completed when I’m done with it – I don’t need to slog through a game that bored me in the first hour.
Making Games!
And here we have an absolute bumper. Partly because my thesis required a lot of game design and partly because I cannot resist the joy of merely making, I spent a lot of time this year creating card and board games, including our first proper release of a board game.
I planned to make a game a month for 2017, based on 2016, and that arc follows here, but.
January – D-73C7, a hidden movement game on cards
February – Chin Music, a memory game of punching
March – Pie Crimes, the prisoner’s dilemma, with cake
April – Dragon’s Favour, a voting game of hidden roles
May – Queer Coding, a cooperative communication game
June – Fabricators, an economy game of 3d printing futuristic factories
July – You Can’t Win, an impossible trick taking game
August – Cafe Romantica, a handsome boys builder game
September – Good Cop, Bear Cop, a hidden identity accuse-em-up
October – Sector 86, a space station builder
November – Escape Code, a bluffing conversation game
December – C-QNS, a pattern matching number game
In addition to this, there were some extra games we released, Push Pins, Nobeard’s Treasure, Skulk, Camp Osum (Alpha) and Yes Chef. In my thesis I had to complete preliminary design for two more games, Mystery Machine and The Coins Of Tarim, and I did prospective work for Kinksame and pushed through stage one of The Comissioner’s Game. I also put out a prototype concept for a VHS-style wrestling game. So far none of these games have proven to be world-beaters, but I’m happy with all of them, in no small part because I love the process of making them. There are stories about each one, stories about how they improved or changed and that may wind up going up over on the main Invincible Ink website.
I also collaborated more and made more games solo. I made D-73C7 entirely on my own (and incidentally, that number is 881,607, in decimal), and continued this with some of our games – Fabricators and You Can’t Win, for example, were entirely solo projects. Yet at the same time, this year featured Skulk, which has art by Alex Zandra, Sector 86 uses some of our first paid stock art, and Cafe Romantica is a game whose entire visual aesthetic is made by Fox.
In addition to this, games that were complete in 2017, but not released include LFG (releasing Cancon 2018), Black Jack’s Dungeon, Bag O Pipes, Domains of Meh, and Winston’s Archive. There were also revisions and second editions for Crowdfund This, Murder Most Fowl and Chin Music. As I write this, in another window, I have a document open for what I’m hoping might be yet another complete game, which I’m super excited to get my hands on.
Anything Else?
I attended six conventions this year – Cancon, Comic-Gong, SMASH, MOAB, GaymerX and LFG, with varying degrees of success. Cancon was an absolute corker, as was Comic-Gong, with GaymerX surprising us with their interest in our ares, and MOAB and LFG a bit more low-key. Still, contact was made with vendors and FLGS, so here’s hoping going forwards there will be more.
I tweeted a lot, and had a handful of tweets go viral, including a new Most Viral tweet of mine, about Vincent Price. This year that was less annoying – the new twitter feature ‘mute this conversation’ does its job.
Emotionality!
This year featured a few big changes for me. One of them is that I spent some time this year making the conscious decision to minimise my interaction with people who actively make me feel bad, and to instead focus my emotional energy on improving the lives of people I really care about. Something in my family life has come up that I simply cannot deprioritise – it’s too important – and that means that I’ve had to ask myself if the emotional distress of a stranger is really my business, even if I do want to live in a world where people will randomly be kind to you. I acknowledged that there are some people, even queer people, who are just jerks, and I don’t need to spend my time listening to and ceding to them, because they are not immune to basic social consequences. I still take the hit when I can, as my privilege armours me pretty well.
I’ve taken to offering random instances of kindness to people, as best I can, to simply tell people hey, here’s a reminder the world doesn’t suck so bad, and being okay when they drop it.
I admitted to some of my trauma. I opened up and shared with some people about my stress. I watched as my parents recognised that their best intentions have had problems in both my life and my sister’s life and started to learn how to forgive them. And I started to face things about myself that make me miserable and sad and feel inadequate, and start to try and develop a framework for them.
Here’s the big thing: A member of my family is getting divorced. It is not a nice divorce. There are kids involved. Abuse is involved. This sucks. This straight up sucks on toast. There is no cutesy way around it.
What’s next?
Tune in tomorrow.
The 2017 Self-Examination Roundup Here's a one-part diary, one-part itinerary, one-part aspirational documentation of what I did this past year as best I can explain it and we'll see how well we go as we go with it.
