beekeeper Ethan AU

i just started a little fanfiction idea, but am stuck in the -wanna get to the good parts, but the beginnings slow-. so im sharing the plot idea early here to satisfy it. :v//

so basically, Ethan's mold and the Dimitrescu sisters accidentally end up in a positive symbiotic relationship. i thought id be cool as real life insects do get positives from mold, or severe trouble.

leaf cutter ants farm mold to eat, while leaf cutter bees don't eat it, but build with it to keep nastier molds away.

while on the other hand you have deadly mold like cordyceps that kill insects to be zombie like. and i like to think that if Ethan was more aggressive like Eveline, then "his mold" may have worked like hers did. but being passive it takes a more -work together- approach.

it starts when, while fighting and not paying attention, Ethan is injured after a cliff fall and Bela gets stuck with him trying to survive the cold after being too gung-ho on chasing him out the kitchen window.

Ethan feels bad as he never wanted to kill anybody and decides to help her out. to easily stay warm and travel she basically attaches to him as the fly swarm. so now Ethan awkwardly travels with Bela as a crawling fly vest he really tries not to swat or scratch at as it crawls around.

Ethan originally was just gonna escort her back to the castle until he sees a large vanity get launched out the side of it. (Alcina assumes her daughters dead.) and so Ethan decides to take a rain check on going back there. earning him a few bug bites from Bela as shes, of course, pissed to be stuck with him in the snowy outsides. but unable to kill him as she'd die/ be stuck in the snowy village.

hes still trying to find his daughter while she tries to interfere as she still works for Miranda in a way.

but heres where rapid insect and mold evolution kicks in.

Ethan is unintentional shedding micro mold spores everywhere, but since hes not actively aware enough to influence them. they just die off pretty quickly and are extremely unnoticeable. however, since Bela is constantly attached to him, shes being dusted in the mold that manages to stay alive from close contact with ethans body. this doesint do anything really until she has to eat.

Ethan definitely doesin't want her drinking the blood off his wounds so he forces her to eat off all the dead lycans left on his path. which then really starts the positive cycle as Bela unintentionally brings back a little blood and rotten meat bits on the swarm.

the mold lives off of the human food Ethan eats, but its not the best for it. like actual mold it likes rotten or dead things. and after being lightly coated in it off the swarm it gets more of a vital boost. his healing improves and unknowingly the spores hes spreading briefly toxify the land.

the black god mold is old and aggressive, but ethan's was made to be a far more aggressive weapon. it becomes a anti black god fungal and poisoning its presence, including the amount infesting the girls/ lords. which changes their temperaments slightly the longer they linger around him.

bela's changes start by the insects growing bigger. promoting them to take off larger chunks of meat and return with more gore for the mold. their larger size also gave Ethan/ the mold better defense. when a lycan tackles him, they get attacked back by a pissed off swarm that rips chunks off them.

the swarm also begins picking up on more social, bee like, behaviors. talking is too much of a risk at times and a blizzard can be too cold for her to talk anymore. having the swarm "talk" or answer by a rolling wave or flash of movement.

which then eventually leads to her swarm growing fuzz to withstand the cold temps a bit better. overtime she is able to leave Ethan for a few minutes before needing to return. while before it was hardly for a sec or two. the swarm gets better at keeping still on him rather then constantly crawling. blending in more like a false vest unless someone gets a closer look.

i imagine chris and his squad had a heart attack when meeting Ethan again. pushing him around and then immediately receiving a hostile swarm attack. before Salvatore came crashing through.

eventually bela and ethan do figure out mirandas plans and that she really has no care for the lords. which infuriates bela into joining ethans campaign against her. they do eventually return to the castle where her family notices the extreme difference in their bugs.

having become more of a mutant vulture bee then a parasitic fly.

(vulture bees do exist and are pretty cool. :D)

bela's insects are two times bigger(and growing), have better communication across the swarm, better cold resist, stronger exoskeleton and a stronger bigger bite.

from here the girls learn to do other "bee things" like make a healing blood honey and propolis(bee glue) and begin sticking things from decorations to lycan bones as armor on ethan.

Beekeeper au Donna, she has honeycomb growing out of her face and Angie is a fuzzy little bee. She owns the village meadery and her main job there is to cry into a bucket because her tears are made of honey. She also enjoys rolling around in flower patches.

I used some pretty aggressive gradient mapping because I’m not really satisfied with how this one looks, but it was good practice anyway and pretty fun to draw! 🐝

here are some poorly drawn large plant concepts taken directly from real plants

bit more info:

bees pollinate pickerelseeds, which go through 4 stages each taking about 5 minutes before they reach pickerelweed status. if only the top of the pickerelweed is removed it will revert back into stage 1 pickerelseeds. pickerelweeds can be planted on top of water like lilypads or on top of lilypads, as well as on land (specifically beaches because what the fuck why do they have no vegetation). they can also be planted on clay which I didn't have enough room to mention

hydrangeas should look nothing like my drawing in block form and look more like peonies and their irl varients, but should be condensed into something like that when put into flower pots

and yeah it doesn't really make sense for them to be sold by farmers over pickerelseeds but beekeeper villagers don't exist yet

Beekeeper Fairy AU

Well, more like bee-helper fairies.

I wasn't really going to share this yet but you can thank @shirajellyfish for encouraging me to show it, even if I'm not yet sure if this is going to go somewhere or is going to stop here like my other projects and AUs.

These sketches are a few months old, I'd like to polish them a little. I was getting into the fairies mood lately so hopefully I'll redraw them soon but y'know I can't promise anything when it comes to drawing.

Some close-ups and more info under the cut + Ferns design for this AU (Now I have no excuse not to make memes between my 3 selfinserts lol)

So the idea of this AU is mainly to be a chill and cozy story. No angst or anything, maybe memories of a couple of bad events from the past, but now everything is healed and they are focusing on living peacefully.

The story would be around Fern who has their own shop of handmade kitchen tools, tableware, tea, coffee etc etc. (all ecofriendly vegan products) in a village. They are also a beekeeper, so she sells honey too at the shop.

One day collecting honey from the hives she finds a tired bee-helper fairy trying to hide. Decides to ignore it not to stress the little guy, but the fairy was still there when they were finished with the bees. So she goes inside the shed for a small cup of water with sugar to give to the fairy.

After that, the fairy followed Fern to the village and now it visits the shop very often. And Fern always has some treats for the fairy.

I have the idea of making an askblog for the AU. People could roleplay as the villagers coming into the shop to buy something and ask about the fairy(ies) and Fern would be the one anwsering. BUT that would require a lot of effort from me, making the drawings and expressions of Fern and the fairies, and have backgrounds from the villagers POV of the shop. And I don't want to do low effort background, I want the world to feel organic.

So idk, maybe I'll do a small comic but I can't assure to keep constant motivation for this.

random headcanons because im bored working and been thinking about parenting since im now indoctrinated

listing in best to worst parent lol

karlach - im probably biased but i think if she could have a child to take care of, she would be the best mom. she's would want the best for them and protect them from any dangers. she's also like childish enough that she could relate to them in a more human way than like some parents iykyk lol most of her stories start with a "do not attempt this." if her kid is into sports, she's at all the games, practices, scrimmages. the coaches call her their co-coach.

gale - i feel like he'd be that dad that like has great snacks but if you talk to him for a little bit, he starts telling you about random facts he knows. he has beekeeper vibes. i also think he would be in the PTA and at every meeting, field trips, especially to the museum. he can be overbearing but he means well

wyll - i feel like i should have put wyll higher. i think he would be a great dad and is very caring and understanding, but i think he would need to work on his demons (ha ha) first before he can be committed to that. if he is free from it, he would be the best dad. he would want to be the dad he wished he had tbh. always there and present and full of love ;-;

halsin - i think he'd be pretty good. he cares a lot. but i also feel like he'd be distant if he's on a project so to speak. he would make sure his kid is taken care of and loved on for sure. i think he would also have the best stories and go on nature walks all the time. he'd make sure his kid is always staying green and recites their 3 r's lol

shadowheart - i think she'd be a waspy mom tbh. controversial ikik, but i really think she would be a waspy crunchy mom lol i do think she would be chill as her kid got older and not so protective considering her past, but just like in the game, you're gonna have to work on that. she's like the mom you found out dated a rockstar when she was younger and she's like oh yeah w/e and never talks about it again lol

lae'zel - lol she would not want to be a mom tbh. maybe a cool aunt, but i think as a mom if she's not softened, she would be a hard one ;-; rigor and perfection at all times. i think if she is softened, she'd be more understanding, but still would require the best. she is lower because she would not even think to put herself in a position to be a caretaker of a child which ya know what good for her lol

astarion - two minds of this. evil astarion would love it for the wrong reasons. he would be setting his child to be his next in line and would require perfection like lae'zel but to the extreme. good astarion would not want the responsibility because it is a lot. he'd be worried that he's gonna mess up the kid somehow and wouldn't believe he could do it. but i think as long as he has a good village he could be an okay dad lol best dressed dad. he's not going on field trips, he's not participating in PTA lol but he will go to performances and recitals.

Not an anon, but as it’s safe to assume you’re a minecraft player- do you have any must-have mods, or are you more of a vanilla person? Also! What’s your favorite creation!

oh my god thank you for this ask- i LOOOVE mods!! modding has and always will be one of my biggest special interests (majorly because i think mods are an art form crafted by a community that collectively loves a game, so how is that not the coolest thing ever???) so i ABSOLUTELY have mods to recommend. for just like. general improvements/additions that i wish were vanilla, not enough animations, waystones, and quark are some of my faves (honorable mention: do a barrel roll. because it makes the elytra flying really cool.) some of my faves that just Lightly add to the vanilla experience are things like... custom player models (be your fursona in minecraft, almost limitless customizable, there's literally taur bases out there to work off of it's so cool, self explanatory)

friends & foes (adds mobs left behind in votes, like mooblooms, glares, beekeeper villagers, copper golems, ect.)

ANIMANIA!!! animania forever and ever. it's stuck in 1.12.2 BUT it adds so many variants to animals (cows, chickens, pigs, ect.) adds NEW animals (hedgehogs, goats, ferrets, frogs, ect.) AND they all have functionality!!! you can make cheeses and other dairy based goodies, make troughs and salt licks to enrich your animals, and just. aahhh! it's such a wonderful mod i literally can not recommend it enough.

annnd the replay mod & camera utils!! for taking pretty screenshots, if that's your sortta thing :] (both of these were taken using the replay mod)

as for like the BIG BIG mods that really change the game, i'm not super well verse in em, but i looove ice and fire for it's dragons / creatures and better end for it's . everything tbh.

AND FOR FAVORITE CREATION,,, that's really hard to chose! i've spent um. an embarrassing amount of time in minecraft, so i'll just. drop a few screencaps of some builds i like.

1889: He was born in Vienna.

1892: the family moved to Passau, Germany, where the future dictator acquired his Low-Bavarian accent that would accompany him in the orations of his future political life.

I headcanon Sanji as a tea lover and he absolutely adores it. He has a little corner in the kitchen with different types of tea and his little set of mugs and filters that he brought with him from the Baratie. He always buys local teas whenever they're in a new village and he keeps them in cute wooden boxes.

Usopp loves to see him prepare matcha tea because it looks so much like the way he makes his bombs. Besides, Sanji just looks so happy doing it. Usopp also paints the wooden containers he uses to keep the different teas! So they look more beautiful that way <3

Sanji explains to Usopp the properties of each tea and herb and Usopp starts planting the ones Sanji likes the most so he doesn't run out of his favorites!

And, y'know, Usopp has always been a coffee guy. It's usually sweeter. More consistent. With lots of milk and sugar. And Sanji loves making coffee for Usopp because he always uses the "something sweet for someone sweet" pick-up line (every time. Every morning). But Usopp starts growing more fond of teas after the two years he spent in the wild, and turns out Sanji loves them too! Perfect match.

I think Usopp would master the art of beekeeping and he'd have his lil place in the ship to do that, and the honey they produce would definitely go to Sanji and his teas (and a lot of other stuff and cooking but you know, I love honey with my tea).

Some of my minecraft villager ocs for my Minecraft Elysium story

Asra is a wandering trader turned resident cartographer, he travels with Warda alot and acts as a guide.

Sometimes Fern the Fletcher comes along with them.

Amaranth is an illager who surrendered after Warda keeps beating him during raids - he now works as a lumberjack and would sometimes accompany Warda when she travels

Miller, Ambrosia and Barric are farmers

Poppy is a librarian, Marlow is a fisherman, Bjork the butcher, Honeybell the Beekeeper, Magnolia the leatherworker, and Hazel the shepherd.

There's still a few more including the kids and this is just the ones from Briar Hollows...

I changed Melissa name to Honeybell

It is 1920, and in a sleepy Sussex village, an elderly beekeeper (who is definitely not the world’s greatest detective… any more) is  trying to arrange a very important picnic for his dear friend Watson. The only problem is that a series of pesky mysteries keep  getting in the way!
