What if Jack and Maddie Fenton were actually Jack and Janet Drake?
The Drakes are their actual identities but they created the Fentons as a why of letting loose, of getting to be their truest most unhinged selves and pursue their true passion without the eyes of high society Gotham judging them.
Whenever the Drakes are supposedly out of the country on archeological digs they are actually in a little no where town in the midwest.
The Drake wealth is perfectly capable of funding their experiments and prototypes and every now and then they do show up to a dig for a week or too, but the Fentons are who they truly are.
So of course Gotham never finds out about Janet's first pregnancy and little Jasmine is welcomed into the world as an Amity Park Fenton, not a Gotham Drake. Janet's second pregnancy however.
Well as i said, the Fentons are who they truly are at their most unhinged and unfiltered. And upon finding out that their having a set of identical twins, well, can you really blame them for passing up this perfect opportunity to test Nature vs. Nurture.
One boy would be a wealthy Drake raised as an only child in a hostile city, the other would be a Fenton raised with his older sister in a peaceful small town.
That's what they decide and thats what they do, and everything is as cannon goes. Tim doesn't know that his parents "archeological digs" are really an excuse to spend most of their time as the Fentons, and Danny and Jazz don't know that the longer "ghost conventions" are an excuse to handle Drake affairs and check on their unknown brother.
At least until things start to get complicated.
(Im not sure if Maddie fakes Janet's death or if she really dies, and if Jack's coma is fake or real and he lost his Fenton memories. Or maybe the death and coma dont happen at all and the truth comes out some other way like Danny finding the Nature vs. Nurture notes or a school trip to gotham or maybe Jazz desides to go to college in Gotham and it comes out that way somehow.
This obviously works best as a "bad parents Jack and maddie" though how bad they are can be entirely up to you. Maybe everything comes out sometime after a "reveal gone right" and Danny and Jazz think their parents are getting better only to be smacked in the face by the betrayal of "secret billionaire parents who essentially abandoned their brother"
Dont know but im tossing it to the void.
To me the most important scenes in this idea is Tim angst at the fact that his parents were never actually too busy to be there for him and had instead chosen no to be there, the somewhat bitter consolation of learning that even when their parents were physically there they still weren't there there for his siblings, and then some good ole slightly unhinged sibling bonding.
Maybe the measuring of ecto contamination and debate in if their parents presence did more damageto their health or less
They honestly might be tied on mental and physical scars. All three kids tend to come with headcanons about neglect and malnourishment)

DPxDC Prompt: Green Lights
(This might go from a prompt to another oneshot thing but we'll see how it goes)
Bruce has no idea about Danny's powers when he gets the call about his cousins in Amity Park. Jack Fenton, Maddie Fenton, Jazz Fenton, a couple of High Schoolers, and a high school teacher were killed. All that's left is his 14 year old cousins and while it's a long shot given how many other kids he already has they're reaching out on the off chance that he wants the kid.
If he doesn't the Mayor of Amity Park has offered to adopt him, but from what he can hear over the phone, the kid isn't happy with this.
"No! You can't send me with Masters! I can't go to Masters! Please, y-you can't!"
Bruce didn't hesitate. "I'll take him in, it'll be no problem what so ever."
---
When he meets Danny he learns he's 15, the age Jason was when he died and close in age to the rest of his kids but he hardly looks 14. He's thin, scared, and scarred. Danny seems hesitant to talk to any of the kids and the kids are torn. Damian is pissed to say the least.
No matter how badly Damian treats him or acts towards him Danny doesn't react. When somebody apologizes for Damian's actions Danny just gives the quiet reply of; "Believe me when I say nothing Damian does is anything compared to what I would have experienced if other interested parties had gotten their hands on me."
This raises flags.
One of many.
-
Danny has scars. They learn this when Danny pulls off one of his hoodies and his shirt pulls up to show the amount of scars. He's got more scars than most of them - if not all of them. Burns, cuts, electrocution scars and countless others. When they ask Danny about them he just shoves back on his hoodie as fast as possible and runs to his room.
He doesn't come out until the next day and even then he's distant.
-
Every room Danny enters gets cold - they blame this on the tension in the air given Danny is the only one who doesn't know their secret.
Danny's teeth are weirdly shop - they blame this on bad dentists.
Danny has scars - given what Bruce heard about 'Vlad Masters' over the phone he fears it was abuse from either Masters or Danny's parents (in a way, he's not wrong).
Danny has nightmares - they blame it on the accident that took his family and friends (they're not fully wrong)
But then people in the family notice that Danny's eyes glow in the dark. It's not the fact that they're glowing that bothers them, it's the fact that they're glowing Lazarus Pit's Green.

I’m kinda a little obsessed with how we begin at the end of the dinner portion of the date. Buck and Tommy have gone through this whole dinner…they’re on their second pitcher of beer and already have the check. And after all that it’s only when they come to the end that Tommy points out that Buck is a bit tense.
Is it that they’re at the end of dinner and Buck is suddenly aware of the world around them again…because Tommy would have probably mentioned something before right? Is it that Tommy paying has suddenly made Buck aware they are actually on a date? But we can sort of assume that until that point maybe there had been some nervous energy but it had been going well. And now he feels like there are people watching him. It's just so interesting how they decided to write this.
Buck's word salad...his confusion is just so Buck, but Tommy doesn't know him well enough to realize that. It's literally Buck processing and if Eddie hadn't walked in as a literal representation of Buck being perceived, Tommy and Buck probably would have had a productive conversation.
And I'm glad that it didn't all go well. That Tommy got to see that Buck is really still struggling through his discovery of who he is...like yeah he throws that dig at Buck about closets, but also Tommy does understand where Buck is and maybe he's seeing a bit of what Tommy himself went through.
The thing that this does allow is Buck to have some time. Tommy's right, Buck isn't ready. He's freaking out...not about Tommy, but about his very identity. What Buck is, is honest. He's not someone that hides anything from his friends and family. It's hard for him to lie to Eddie and we see that immediately when he goes to talk to Maddie because that's the type of thing that matters to Buck. He's also kinda going crazy thinking about Tommy.
They're handling Buck's story so well. And I love that Tommy cuts their date short without putting any blame on Buck, and that he leaves it to Buck to reach out. His interest is known...he doesn't leave Buck before telling him he's adorable and that he'll see him and we the audience are left waiting for Tommy to come back within the scope of this episode.
And I can't help but think about how if Tommy only allowed himself to be himself after he left the 118, he's only been out about as long as the show has been on and six years going on seven isn't a long time in the scheme of things. It also does this amazing thing to show the contrast between Tommy and Buck because Tommy knew he liked guys long before he acted on it/admitted it. Buck had no clue. Tommy hid it, he lied. Buck can't do that, it's not in him to be dishonest, and it's a true struggle for him.
Buck talking to Eddie about it and coming out to him...it's so beautiful. I love that scene but in the context of Buck and Tommy there's so much in Eddie's support of them and his push for Buck to reach out to Tommy. Eddie has Buck's back no matter what and it's exactly what Buck needed. Not just the support of his best friend, but the truth telling. It's a weight lifted off his shoulders, and not just that but he has advice on how to move forward too.
I would have loved to see Buck trying to figure out what to say to Tommy when he calls him, but what I love is that Tommy is willing to see Buck. There's something so careful about the way that Tommy acts when he arrives at the coffee date. Obviously he's showing up because he's interested in Buck...but he also probably had no idea what was going to happen. He certainly did not expect Buck to ask him to be his date at the wedding. And then Buck places his hand over Tommy's and Tommy puts his hand over Buck's and Buck doesn't care if anyone sees.
I love this show. I love the care being put into this story.

DNI IF YOU’RE YOUNGER THAN 18!
A wise man once said, “Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.” The meaning of it was that the person willing to make that commitment, willing to ruin themselves to hurt another only led to their only damnation. But you wondered if he knew how much that matched the situation you had found yourself in.
A situation and place in time where you could only feel the air being sucked free from your lungs. An uncontrollable fury that flowed through your bloodstream. Creating shakes in your hands as you tried to bottle all that you were feeling. Chest rising in falling in quick and angry puffs as you tuned in on the secret you had discovered only a mere night ago. The sounds you had heard upon entering your home. Spotting those all too familiar sneakers by the front door.
Oh, man, you were seething with rage. And hearing those moans, that fragile voice calling out your brother's name. That might’ve been one of the darkest moments in your life. Close behind the videotapes of your father, that has scarred you for life.
And when you entered Nate’s room, you found the one thing that changed your outlook on dating or women. Although Nate was part of the blame, Cassie fell under his spell. She knew half the fucked up shit he’d done in the past, yet, she still followed through on fucking him. She easy. She wasn’t endgame material and you should’ve realized that a while ago.
But that had been the night things changed between you and Cassie. You couldn’t look at her like she was a normal human being. If anything, now, you looked at her like a piece of property- Nate’s property because that was what she was now. It had been the same with Maddy and it was now happening with your girlfriend.
She broke up with you not long after that night, and she was surprised to find you took it so easily. Thinking that she ended things peacefully with you and carried on with her days. But she should’ve been able to see the dark look in your eyes when she ended things. Although you did love her, she was far too gone to be saved. A piece of property was what she was now. Except, there was one thing you knew about Nate’s property and it was that he didn’t like that property to be touched.
So, here you were, standing in the far corner of the party ensuing around you. Falling Back by Drake blasted in the background as you continued to stare at your ex. Seeing her smile and enjoying her time with your brother. Feeling that guttural rage begin to build and build each moment you watched. The fact that they were happy, genuinely happy with one another was a shot in the back. Not only by your brother but by Cassie as well.
You wanted to set their world on fire. Just the idea of them suffering as you slowly widdle down their psyche was just blissful. Pretty fucked up, but the fact that Cassie had practically moved into your house, you weren’t merciful anymore. Especially now that you and your father spent most of the nights with football on, beers in hand, and hoping that the casters’ voices can block out the moans belonging to Cassie.
No, they didn’t deserve your mercy. They didn’t deserve the side of you that would roll over and accept the reality of the situation. So, when you spotted Lexi in the crowd talking to Kat, a lightbulb ignited in your mind.
Downing the rest of your drink, you made your way across the busy living room and to the kitchen where Lexi was. Entering, you moved past the two girls and to the bottles on the counter. Kat had dismissed herself to pick up Ethan’s call, giving you the chance you needed.
“Hey, Lex,” you greeted, causing the girl to turn around, her soft smile on display at the sight of you. But it faltered when seeing the bags under your eyes and hair slightly astray.
“Oh, hey, Y/n. How’s your night going?” She asked with a soft chuckle.
You pursed your lips with a shrug, offering a forced smile. “Just as anyone could expect nowadays.” Glancing past the girl, you could still see Cassie hanging onto Nate’s side. You nodded to the pair, a stab of pain in your chest. “But they look like they’re having fun though.”
She glanced over, scoffing at the sight of her sister drunk and being with Nate. “She’s going to get her heart broken in no time. After everything he’s done, she still goes to him.” You offered a red solo cup to her, pausing her ranting as she thanked you before she continued. “I mean, how dumb is she?”
Squinting your eyes, you stared at the blonde. “I mean, I dated her, so I can confirm that she is quite dumb. Maybe a few screws loose as well.” Your statement made the girl laugh, enabling a smile to form on your lips.
A lot of your friends didn’t exactly align with your brother as you hung out with drug addicts and the gossip girls of East Highland. Lexi was a part of that group and there was a genuine friendship you had with her. But, if you wanted to get some payback, you would have to twist it in a way that may piss Cassie off. Just the first stab into her heart that might show that this was just the start.
So, with nothing so much as a warning, your arm wrapped around Lexi’s waist and you pulled her into your chest. The squeak that fell from her lips made you smile, tilting your head as you stared down at the girl. “Just play along.”
“Y/n, what are you-” Lexi couldn’t help but stop herself, glancing in her sister’s direction. Finding the blonde watching intently of the position Lexi had found herself in. But the longer she stared at her sister, the longer she found reasons as to why she should listen to you. To get payback. To get revenge.
So, she looked up at you, glancing down at your lips before back up at your eyes. And it was her turn to take you by surprise, taking your breath away with her lips slamming against yours.
The kiss wasn’t what you thought capable from the bookworm. Everything you knew about Lexi was innocence. That and the fact that after a long night of drinking, when Cassie left the room to grab more beer, Lexi had confessed that she was a virgin. Wanting your advice on what may get her past this stage in her life. But feeling this and experiencing it would’ve fooled you if you never were exposed to the vulnerability she had shown.
Lexi’s hands drifted down, moving just past the hem of your jeans and resting over the growing tent. A deep guttural moan was swallowed by the girl, who couldn’t contain the smirk that formed on her lips. The desperate need for air was slowly becoming faded with the need for something more grew.
But it was short-lived by a livid blonde who wasn’t afraid to shove Lexi away and sweep you away. Looking over your shoulder, you gave an apologetic smile to Lexi. She was still trying to recover from the intensity, face red and lips beginning to bruise. It was adorable.
And when you found yourself pushed against a door in a room with no lights on, you couldn’t help but smile in amusement. Finding the amount of anger written on Cassie’s face to be adorable coming from someone who had no right to be this angry.
“Hello, Cass,” you greeted smugly.
“What do you think you’re doing with my sister? Going to use her to get back at me?” Cassie spat.
“Well, it got us alone, didn’t it?” You inquired, making the girl hush. A sigh fell from your lips, shrugging. “We’re just getting to know each other a bit better, you know?”
“Don’t be a fucking asshole. You look like a little pussy doing this. You know that, right?” Cassie said. “I mean, you are acting like a child by trying to have sex with my sister after I broke up with you.”
You laughed, scratching your temple. “Please, remind me because my memory might be a little fuzzy. But who was the one that cheated?” You asked. “Oh, wait! That was you! Now I remember!”
“Dont be a child-”
Before she could finish, you grabbed the side of her neck firmly. Nothing that with substitute as aggressive. You didn’t squeeze. You didn’t pull. You simply grabbed it. But it didn’t seize to make Cassie grasp and whimper under your hold.
Leaning closer, you stared at her lips with an essence of hunger rumbling in your gut. “I never cheated on you,” you stated. “But God, do I wish I did. The embarrassment you would’ve felt.”
Cassie groaned, managing to meet your dark gaze. “What are you going to do about it then?”
A sickening sweet smile crossed your features before you pressed your lips against hers. And then, it felt like everything before. The kiss, the heat, the need for one another. It was manufactured, but you had missed it so damn much.
She fought against you. The urgency in her hands was evident with her fumbling with your belt. The rattling of the buckle and the groans of frustration with the button made you grin.
Taking the lead, you peeled her shirt off and snapped her bra. Revealing her bare chest as you moved her toward the bed, keeping your lips pressed against hers even when the back of her knees met the edge of the bed.
Peeling her panties off, you pulled your pants off before peppering her neck in kisses. Cassie’s nails dug into your back, a greater sense of urgency in her movements. She was completely putty within your hold and liked it that way.
And some part of you felt horrible doing what you were doing. This wasn’t just to get some sort of moment of euphoric galore. If you wanted that, you would’ve told Cassie to fuck off and just fucked Lexi. At least there, things may have worked out better. But this was a plan that you were making up on the fly. You were scheming to get back at your brother and Cassie.
Forcing her legs apart, you grabbed the base of your cock and lined it up with her fluttering cunt. Ever so slowly, you eased yourself in. A deep guttural groan is ripped from your chest. Cassie was a panting, writhing mess laid out just for you. Her hands grabbed handfuls of the bed sheets in an attempt to find some grounding aspect to the intensity filling the room.
Her breaths were hiccuped and choked out of her when you laid flush against her, hips raising to relieve her of the sense of fullness. But it was only a moment later that you slammed your hips against her, stealing the air from her lungs. Nails dug deeper into your skin until they drew blood, making the line between pain and pleasure blur. Mending together into some sick and twisted turn-on for you. And it sparked the aggression in your body.
And something in the air shifted the energy the two of you had. From pent-up and possible deprivation of one another was now an animalistic desire. Teeth baring, lips sucking, hands roaming and gripping as tight as possible. Sweaty bodies flush with choked moans filling the bedroom.
It was the source of why things ended so quickly. Cassie trembling beneath you and your cock twitching around the vice grip of her velvet walls. Sweeping a few strands of hair from your face, you placed a firm hand on her stomach and slowly pulled out. Hearing the girl whimper and whine. “Good girl.”
Cassie lay there, catching her breath as you disappeared from her vision. She could hear the scuffling of clothes until the weight beside her sunk with the sight of you pulling your jeans up. A wandering hand grabbed your arm. You looked back at her for a moment, but ripped her hand off of you, making her frown. “What’s wrong?” She mumbled, sitting up on her elbows.
“If you thought this was up making up for your idiocy, then you’re sadly mistaken, Cassie,” you stated. “I mean, I knew you were fucking clueless sometimes, but you are breaking the world record.”
The hurtful comments made Cassie purse her lips, looking away from you.
“Oh, and Cassie?” The blonde sniffled, turning her head and watching you stand from the edge of the bed and straighten your shirt out. A devilish grin etched on your lips as you shrugged. “You deserve to be lied to, but I’ll spare surprising you.” Placing your hands on the frame at the foot of the bed, you shook your head. “I cannot wait to see him tear you into pieces.”

Dc x dp idea 99
In a world where everyone is not so understanding. Sam and Tucker blame Danny for the portal coming on and letting the ghosts through. He is the one who turned the portal on after all. He brought the pain and sorrow to Amity.
Jazz has questioned other ghost who were caught by her parents. All of them only wanted to take over or destroy the world. Only ever cursing the human race. (Who could blame them when they were captured and likely poked and prodded by jack and Maddie)
Jack and Maddie don’t care phantom is their “son”. Those things don’t feel. Once he died he wasn’t Danny anymore. Only ecto scum.
Danny over heard them discussing handing him over to the GIW.
Danny didn’t have a choice. So he decides to leave amity at the ripe age of 15 before he ends up strapped down in a lab. He runs away.
No one reports him missing.
He runs away to Fawcett. Gotham would be too risky. Jack and Maddie discussed investigating the odd ectoplasm there. (Maybe the bats look into the Fentons. Maybe the realize there child hasn’t been reported dead or missing. That Danny was just gone)
Metropolis is out of the question. Jazz was looking into a university there.
Here he meets homeless billy batson. Only a year younger then him. Together they survive on the streets. Both learning more about each other. Danny revealing bits of his past as they go.
When Danny finds out about Shazam he reveals phantom. Danny actual wants to help billy. He’s even younger then him. Now the justice league assume Danny is Shazam sidekick (maybe son). Instead of Danny being the older of the two.
When the truth does come out. So does Danny’s past. So does the GIW.

lying in bed making myself sad about cartoon characters this fine night. Showing in Brain Theater tonight: “what if Maddie vivisected Vlad”
Danny, in a fit of frustration after fighting Plasmius and getting beat up Yet Again, or maybe to test the waters for how his parents would react to “someone you know is a half-ghost”, tells them.
Jack is shocked. Heartbroken. Disbelieving. My man Vladdie? A ghost? How??
Maddie is less disbelieving. She’s gotten the chance to study ecto-acne now. For it to reoccur after so long must mean there’s something ectoplasmic highly integrated into Vlad’s body.
Also…
When she shows up at his door with Ghost Catching gear, she gets to finally let out everything she’s been building up, simmering and repressing.
“He was my friend!” she gets to shout at a trapped Plasmius. “And he changed, after the accident. He got selfish and possessive and cruel and—and mean. Obsessed. And maybe he was always a bit petty. He was always a little selfish. He was a business major, after all.” (“Hey,” Vlad says.) “But he was never mean like that. And he was never possessive, or cruel. And I wondered how that happened. How the Vlad I knew in college could have turned into that. But that wasn’t him, was it? It was you. You’ve been possessing Vlad for twenty years, warping him, twisting him, making him cruel and obsessed, the way ghosts are! That wasn’t Vlad, it was you.” Plasmius trues to protest. That isn’t how it works. This is him.
But in the choice between believing that her friend from college doesn’t see her as a whole person, but a malleable romantic prize that he was Owed and Still Deserves, that that was his angle and the friendship wasn’t real, that maybe that was what he was thinking every time they talked, every time she thought they were friends, all along… (and maybe, just maybe, that his resentment kind of has grounds, actually, that she and Jack weren’t good friends to him after the accident, were they)… or that he’s been taken over by a ghost and all the bad things he’s done since then are due to ghostly influence twisting him into a monster…
One of those is emotionally much easier to believe than the other.
“I’m going to get the ghost out of you, Vlad,” Maddie says, firing up some scary looking equipment. “And see if there’s anything of you left.”
And then there’s Vlad, strapped to a lab table, realizing that the docile and beautiful Maddie in his head who just needs to be separated from the corrupting influence of Jack and then she’ll be his ~Perfect Wife~ that she should have been is not real. That he’s been denying her involvement in the Ghost Portal Incident when it was her goddamn idea. He’s been mentally writing her out of all of her own ghost science, blaming it on Jack when, no, she is Like This all on her own and will never not be Like This. Both of them staring at the other, red eyes meeting red goggles, and neither wanting to believe in the real person in front of them, preferring to see each other as an idealized memory rather than face who they actually are as people.
And, maybe the ghost part of Vlad was affecting him, amplifying feelings that were already there in him, making him obsessive, unable to let go… but at the same time, if he isn’t the same person at 42 as he was at 22, who ever is?
The ecto-scalpel comes down. They’re both hurting.

Movie!Knuckles reaction to having a crush on you
(Movie!Knuckles x reader)
This was written during my movie!knuckles obsession phase ~ J/Blaze
Notes: I just realised that I’ve got the first half of the fic and not the rest so if it looks different to what you remembered that’s why
Pronouns: they/them
Warning: ⚠️spoilers for Knuckles backstory in the movie + slight spoilers for Sonic Movie 2⚠️
Requested: Yes/No
Characters: Knuckles + Sonic + Tails + Maddie + Tom + mentions of Dr Robotnik/Eggman
Proof Read: ❌

Tumblr media
- if you’ve watched the second movie it’s known that knuckles lost his tribe at a very young age and was lonely for most of his life so when he first met you during the period of the second movie I’d imagine it would taken him a while to trust you, mostly because of robotnik betraying him combined with what happened to his tribe. He didn’t want to go through something like that again so he isolated himself from you
- Eventually after some help from people like Sonic, Tails, Tom and Maddie he eventually decided to give you a chance and chat with you. After spending some time with you he eventually found out that you were much better than he thought you were going to be and eventually decided to become your friend
- Can we all agree that this man will do his absolute best to make sure you are safe and happy. It’s like having a personal bodyguard with you. Remember that meme that's like ‘excuse me they asked for no pickles!” Just imagine that but with you and knuckles:
+ “How dare you leave pickles in their burger even when they said they didn’t want any!”
+ “Knuckles it’s fine I’ll still eat the burger” you smiled trying to convince him not to fight the employees
+ “They need to make you a new burger [NAME] since they clearly don’t know how to make one” knuckles put his hands on your shoulders while trying to justify beating up the employees
- it took all the strength and patience just to convince knuckles to not punch the employees
- Knuckles would literally sacrifice himself or possibly someone else just to keep you happy, as long as you're happy he’s happy
- Now onto the crush part of this!
- As much as I love him he’s very clueless when it comes to stuff like this, he does stuff that others will think is him expressing romantic feelings while he might see it as nothing but a friendly gesture or maybe as a fighting technique
- Eventually it comes to a point where sonic has to tell him about having crushes and how he is clearly showing signs of him having a crush but of course knuckles denies this because he is a ‘warrior’ and he just sees you as ‘just a friend’ like sure knuckles ‘just a friend’
- After a lot of convincing from sonic that yes you do like them knuckles and that it’s alright to have these feelings he asks sonic what he should do sonic just tells him to ‘just be honest and tell them’ to which knuckles surprisingly goes along with trusting sonic and went up to you
- When he does come to ask you out well attempt to at least it can be slightly awkward at first since you have no goddamn idea on what he is trying to do until it hits you
+ “um knuckles?”
+ “Yes [NAME]!” Knuckles said now alerted
+ “Are you trying to confess to me” you said confused
+ “Yes?” He also said confused then a wave of embarrassment just hits him like a truck
- That’s when knuckles went defensive mode and immediately started to blame sonic afraid you were immediately disgusted like ‘blame sonic he was the one who told me to do it’
- That’s when you brought him into a hug stopping his rambling and returned your feelings. As soon as you brought him into a hug knuckles felt some sort of calm flowing through his body. He couldn’t help but notice that his heart was beating a bit faster and he felt his face heat up. "Is this what love was?” Knuckles thought to himself. That’s when he finally melted into your touch and accepted that yes he was in love.
- Alright let’s get on with it. Knuckles is definitely both protective and clingy without him realising it. Of course he understands if you can do something by yourself he’ll let you do it but he can’t help it especially since what happened between him and eggman he just doesn’t anything bad happening to you.
- Carrying on from the previous statement this man definitely takes loyalty to another level. He’ll pretty much do anything for you no matter if he’s already doing something or not, it doesn’t matter if he’s already in the middle of a task if he hears that you are in trouble he drops everything and immediately tends to your needs.
- His behaviour change is definitely noticeable. I mean come on how could you not. Everyone knows how soft knuckles is for you. Tom and Maddie weren’t really paying much attention to it. They're just happy for both you and knuckles. Tails does notice a change; he doesn't want to bring up the fact in case he’ll get it wrong from him. Sonic on the other hand will tease the hell out of him no matter how many times knuckles tells him to quit it sonic still finds a way to tease him.
- Speaking of Maddie and Tom, knuckles definitely asks for some advice considering you know they are dating. Despite the slight teasing from Tom and Maddie telling him to stop, they do give him genuine advice about how to make sure you're happy.
- Overall although a bit clueless he’s definitely the best

hey could you write a head cannon that the bowers gang find out that their little siblings have made their own little gang with the other bowers gang little siblings and the only reason they found out was that someone who messed with them come up to them asking for them to keep their crazy siblings on a leash because they beat the crap out of them.
Hi there!  We’ve combined this ask with your other ask similar to it.  Hope you enjoy!
(Below is character refrence from your request):
Siblings are called the Mini Bowers Gang
Mia Bowers (Henry little sister)
Maddie Hockstetter (Patrick little sister)
Olivia Criss (Vic little sister)
Sam Huggins (Belchs little brother)
Warnings: Swearing, mild violence implied.
The Bower’s gang had no idea that their younger siblings formed their own little gang.
It wasn’t until Chad O’keif, Derry’s popular, asshole jock approached Henry, Patrick, Belch and Vic.
Chad rushes up to the guys furiously with a busted lip.
“Hey!  Bowers!  You better keep a leash on those brats of yours or else next time-“.
Before Chad dares to finish his sentence, he catches himself.  For once the dumb jock uses his brains.
Everyone in town knows you don’t  threaten the Bowers gang.
Especially a threat directed towards their little siblings.
It’s not that the guys are sweet and over-protective of their siblings.  Quite the opposite though
But there’s still an unspoken vow that only they can mess with their little siblings.
The guys circle in on Chad, glaring to the point that he’s so uncomfortable, he can’t maintain eye contact anymore.
Visibly nervous, Chad clears his throat. “They’re down at the barrens.  They attacked me for no damn reason.” His voice trails off.
Everyone but Henry laugh hearing the news.
Henry shoves Chad to the ground, flipping his switch blade out.
“If I find out you messed with them, I’ll fuckin' end you.  Watch yourself.”  Henry threatens, stopping his blade into the ground before lifting Chad to his feet and pushing him forward.
“Now get the fuck out of my face.”
And with that, Chad went running.
The guys make their way down to the barrens to see what their little sibling are up to/ what all the commotion is about.
Before their siblings are even in sight, you can hear Maddie Hocksetter yelling, clearly instigating a fight.
As the guys approach, they see Mia Bowers straddling Beverly with both Sam Huggins and Olivia Criss holding her down.
Maddie was kneeling beside them, egging Mia on.
“Come on Mia, she deserves it, look what she did to Olivia!!”
As the guys get closer, they notice Olivia Criss’s nose was bloody.
“HEY!  FUCKERS!” Henry shouts, causing them all to flinch and stop in their tracks.
Taking advantage of the distraction, Beverly kicks and twists, breaking free from Sam and Olivia, and knocking Mia off of her.
Maddie goes to grab her again but Patrick eyes her, slowly walking toward his sister with a creepy, sinister look on his face.
Maddie knows despite Patrick being her older brother, that it wouldn't stop him from doing something bad.
I mean look at what Patrick did to his little brother, RIP.
“Maddie… I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” He says, voice dripping with malice.
Normally Maddie isn’t intimidated by anyone but when it comes to Patrick (and hell, even Henry), she’s terrified.  She listens to her older brother and takes a step back.
Patrick grabs Beverly’s arms as she was slowly trying to back away into the woods.
Vic grabs this sisters face, examining her bloody nose. “Lucky isn’t not broken, kid.”
Belch shoves his younger brother, Sam, blaming him for letting this happen since he’s in charge of looking out for the girls.
“Someone want to explain what the actual fuck is going on here?”  Henry glare at each of them, especially his own kid sister, Mia.
Maddie was the first to speak up, nodding towards Beverly.  “This bitch hit Olivia!”
Patrick is holding Beverly in place by keeping her arms behind her back and trapped against his chest.
“Is that so?”  He smirks, getting close to Beverly’s ear and chuckling when she flinches. God he loves to make people squirm.
“Th-that’s not what happened!”  She retorts, clearly anxious as she’s surrounded. Her eyes tearing up until she begins to cry.
Vic approaches Beverly with a pissed off expression.
“Ya know Beverly, we don’t give a fuck if you’re a girl or not.  Hit my sister and I end you.”
Belch tries to diffuse the situation now, feeling somewhat sorry for Beverly as he sees the terror in her eyes.
Between being surrounded by both Bower’s gang, the Mini Bowers Gang, Vic threatening her, and Patrick giving her an unwanted embrace (cuddle with a struggle), it was enough to make even the toughest person break.
Hell even the jock, Chad, got beat up by the Mini Bowers so that’s saying something.
After some convincing, the others agree to let her go but not without another threat.
Once Beverly takes off running for her life, the Mini Bowers laugh hysterically feeling accomplished.
“So how did we do?!”  They ask the guys, looking for approval.
Henry scoffs.  “You got some work to do considering”. He says as he checks Olivia’s face.
Vic interjects. “But we’ll admit you’ll did a good job on fuckin’ Chad."
Belch nudges his little brother with approval as they laugh.
The other swing their arms over their little sister's shoulders as they walk off teaching them new fighting techniques.

I had a dream last night that could have been a fic and I’m disappointed that it wasn’t.
It was Buck and Eddie like after the last episode after Eddie was like “this changes nothing between us” and at first, everything was fine and normal but then it became very apparent after like six months that something very much had changed between them, like Buck was still dating Tommy and Eddie was still dating Marisol and in the field they were as in sync as ever but then everywhere else there was this weird distance between them? Like they were still best friends but like fundamentally they were Buck and Eddie instead of BuckandEddie like they used to be and everyone else in the 118+ could see it and they couldn’t
And then suddenly they could see it, because Buck was at Eddie’s and something happened and he needed to change his shirt but he realized that for the first time in years, probably since Eddie got shot, Buck didn’t have anything of his at the Diaz house. A couple weeks later, Eddie was telling the 118 a story about Chris and Buck had no idea what’s going on in the story and they (Buck and Eddie) were talking about it and they realize that it’s been a while since Buck picked Chris up from school or just like had a day that was just the two of them. And then there was some gathering at Eddie’s house instead of Bobby and Athena’s, and Buck makes cookies at his loft and brings them and Maddie points it out, and Buck has a mini crisis as he realizes abruptly that he is a guest in Eddie’s house and he was looking around and the couch was new (Marisol had convinced Eddie to buy a new one) and he hadn’t even realized.
And then Eddie and Marisol and Buck and Tommy were going on a double date at Olive Garden of all places but Marisol couldn’t make it, so it was just Buck and Eddie and Tommy and it was awkward and Tommy was like “look i haven’t known you guys as long as everyone else around you but even I can tell that there is something not right here and you need to talk it out and fix it because you’re both not the same with your lives being almost completely separate, it’s like not natural for you two.”
And they start talking except it kinda devolves into grocery store fight 2.0, about Buck not being there for Chris and not being around except this time it’s kinda on both of them and it’s really no one’s fault but it’s kinda both their faults. And this argument makes its way into their work life where they’re just not as in sync in the field.
And then something happened on a call (unclear what) that wasn’t really anyone’s fault but Buck blamed himself and the current issues he’s having with Eddie, and asked Bobby to be put on B-Shift for awhile and it was just super awkward in the firehouse and Bobby was talking to Eddie and was like “I don’t know what’s going on but whatever it is you need to fix it” and Eddie was like “I dont know what’s going on either, Buck and I just aren’t the same since he started dating Tommy” and Bobby was like “maybe you need to evaluate that because that’s something that only seems to be affecting you.”
And then like a week later, Eddie and Marisol broke up, and Marisol was all “it’s because of Buck isn’t it, you love him more than me.” And Eddie did not work through that, he just went to Buck’s despite still sort of being in a fight and they got drunk on Buck’s couch and Eddie kissed Buck just kinda out of the blue and then was like “fuck I didn’t mean to do that” and left.
Buck told Tommy immediately the next time he saw him (because he learned his lesson from Taylor) and Tommy was pretty cool about it but he was also like “hey maybe you should think about that because you don’t actually seem all that upset by the fact that Eddie kissed you just that he kissed you while you’re dating me and I feel like that says something” because Tommy is a real one.
After like two weeks wherein Eddie goes to great lengths to avoid Buck outside of calls despite being on the same shift again, and Buck talking through it in therapy and with Maddie, Buck breaks up with Tommy (who again is very chill about all of it and is like “we can all still be friends just give me a little space for a while”) and then he drove to the Diaz house and Eddie saw him pulling up and met him outside and it was raining so they really should have gone inside but I digress. And Eddie was like “Buck it’s like midnight what are you doing here” and Buck was all “i broke up with Tommy because you kissed me” and Eddie was like “fuck I’m sorry I didn’t mean to do that I never meant to get in between you two” and is just sort of spiraling and Buck can’t get a word in so instead Buck kisses Eddie and Eddie is just like “Oh. So you aren’t mad.” And Buck laughed and was all “No I’m not mad I’m in love with you”
And then my neighbor’s kid started screaming and woke me up so I didn’t even get to see the ending and I’m kinda mad about it because I wanna see how everyone else reacted to all of this

Maddie had been out for a walk when it happened. Because Jack had been injured by Phantom because of a piece of flying debris in a ghost fight yesterday (she would never understand the infatuation the Casper High students had with such a monster) she had left her ghost hunting gear at home so he could better defend himself. That, and it was nice to just get out of the hazmat every once in a while.
She was regretting those choices now, as she carefullly surveyed the swirling shades of spooky greens and purples surrounding her. The most likely thing that had just happened was that she had just ended up in the Ghost Zone by walking through a portal, either a natural one or one caused by a ghost with the intent of trapping her. It could also be some sort of ghostly illusion, but Maddie couldn’t think of any particular reasons a ghost that could create illusions would have made one like this, instead of something like tricking her into something like thinking her family was in danger. That possibilty didn’t seem at all likely, so she discarded it.
Maddie stayed there, floating, unsure of how to move through the etcoplasm-tainted air. She must’ve been there for about three hours, constantly creating and dismissing plans that all had no chance of working. Eventually, she just started looking around, trying to see if there was anything even remotely helpful.
As Maddie scanned her surroundings, searching for some sort of exit, she couldn’t help but notice a slowly growing black speck on the horizon. Instinctively, she reached for her blaster, but only found a spare wrist ray. Maddie quickly slipped it on, and aimed it in the direction of whatever ghost was coming over to do who-knows-what to her. If she got out of this alive, she was never leaving the house without at least a basic blaster ever again.
Maddie squinted her eyes so much they were almost screwed shut in order to view the ghost better and possibly identify it. Just as she noticed the white hair, they ghost seemingly put on a vicious burst of speed, almost crashing into her. Maddie fired her wrist ray on instinct, causing the ghost to stumble just as it reached her.
“OW!” Phantom called out. “Not cool, M- Maddie!”
“Phantom,” she growled out.
“Woah, what’s with all the horrible hostility?” It grinned. “See what I did there? Alliteration!”
Maddie ignored the poor attempt to make itself seem likable. It should have figured out by now that she was wise to its tricks, but apparently not. “You injured my husband.”
Phantom frowned. “What? When?”
“Yesterday, during–”
“But that was Skulker! Sure, technically I broke those bleachers, but he was the one who shot me into them! Are you seriously going to blame me for that?”
“It’s not like you tried to stop it. Besides, wouldn’t it be a good outcome for you if one of us were injured?”
“I had no idea he was even there, why would I– well, this is just going to go in circles forever if we let it. Look, to cut this short, do you want a ride back home?”
Maddie glared at the ghost. “No.”
Phantom groaned, dragging its hand down its face. “I’m going to rephrase that, because I don’t think you’ll listen to me under any other circumstances. Let me take you back to the portal you made so that your kids will see you again.”
Her already-intense glare deepened. “Don’t you dare bring my kids into this.”
Phantom floated back about a foot or two, hands held up in mock surrender. “I’m not trying to! I’m just saying, as a fellow teenager, I’d be pretty upset if one of my parents went mysteriously missing in some alternate dimension, and your kids don’t deserve that,” he said placatingly.
Maddie scowled to give her glaring muscles a rest. “You’re damn right they don’t.”
Phantom grinned. “So can I take you home, then?”
This time, it was Maddie’s scowl that deepened. “Still no, ghost.”
It sighed. “I guess I don’t have much of a choice, then.”
Phantom blinked out of the visible light spectrum, and barely a second and a half later she was hoisted up at an awkward angle and flying away at high speed, back-to-back with Phantom in some sort of reverse piggyback.
“STOP, SPECTER!” she screamed, trying to twist her body so that she could shoot her kidnapper. Unfortunately, it took her twenty minutes, which was far too long. By then, when she finally got a half-decent shot in that did more damage than just causing Phantom to flinch and actually managed to free her, the portal was in sight. When Maddie turned around to hopefully do more damage, even with her limited arsenal, she saw it and stood (well, floated) stock still.
“Did you just–”
“Take you where I promised to? Yes, yes I did.” That ever-present grin was plastered across Phantom’s face.
“Impossible, ghosts always lie. You must’ve–”
Phantom cut her off again by vanishing and appearing behind her once more. “Nope, I didn’t! Anyways, bye!”
Maddie was shoved into the swirling green.

Ok new random au idea thing.
So, the basis of this au is that Danny isn't actually as ok as he could've been after the portal incident, yes, he still has ghost powers and yes, he can switch between the two but is core is unstable.
It's fully formed yet lacks some of the key features of a regular ghost core, one of them being wherein they pull ectoplasm from the surroundings to keep themselves going but Danny's does not.
So him going ghost has a timer.
His parents also find out his secret when he couldn't keep the ghost transformation for long, and they don't try to kill him or anything, but they do pull him down to their lab to figure out if there was any way to reverse what happened to him.
Which there wasn't. But they did find out something else.
Right under Danny's heart rested a fully formed core. Which is not something that should be possible, it makes him physically weaker, less aware of his surroundings and slow in his movements.
They blame it on how his core is actively pulling in the ectoplasm in his blood needed to keep him alive to sustain his ghost half probably, but even that is a stretch considering how his ghost half isn't all that stable either.
At least compared to other ghosts.
So, they made it mandatory that Danny take shots of ectoplasm into his bloodstream consistently so his core wouldn't begin to draw the ectoplasm from his own blood. And it worked, Danny no longer felt so fatigued and could stay in his ghost form for far longer than he could before.
But Vlad, unlike him. Didn't need to take any shots of ectoplasm or anything of the sort, he was proper, genuine halfa. With all the perks of being both human and ghost with none of the drawbacks of Danny.
Vlad wasn't obsessed with Maddie here, no. He hated the both of them, he blamed them for the accident he got into and losing all those years of his life withering away in a hospital. So when he found they had a son, a son who was basically a feeble, weaker version of him.
He decided to take away something like they took away from him.
Danny was left in a remote location for hours on end, his core starting suck away the ectoplasm in his bloodstream until barely anything was left, and then it started taking the blood.
He was barely even coherent when his parents finally found him, injecting him with a syringe of ectoplasm to keep him stable enough until they got back to their lab. Jack and Maddie then decided to dig out a big hole, single out the life-giving effects of ectoplasm until there was nothing but that and dump him in it.
They did have to cut open his chest, to give his core proper access to the pool. They pretended not to notice how barely any blood sprang from the cut.
When they finally placed him inside, two things happened.
Danny's core was energized, supercharged, even.
Such supercharged energy exploded.
His latent ice abilities expelled from his core, covering the lab and everything in it. Before the entirety of Amity Park as well and a good chunk of the surrounding forests. Vlad was relatively unaffected, his fire core melting through the ice easily until seeing how said ice creeped back up no matter how much he burned through it.
So he decided to just turn his back and leave, it wasn't any skin off of his back whatever happened. Jack and Maddie probably also died from all the frost so really it kinda just saved him the trouble.
Time went on, and the ice encased world of Amity Park did not. Years passed as the ice slowly spread, the ectoplasm from the (somehow still activated) portal leaking through to cover the ice covered town. The ice spread further out into the forest, absolutely consuming it along with everything in it, the mass amounts of ectoplasm helped formed multiple ghosts though.
It was many, many years later until life stepped into the city again.
One Ra's Al Ghul.

Written for @augustwritingchallenge day 25 (Joker Prompt): Role Reversal Buddie, 2.8k Read on AO3
or: 5 times people get Buck's role in Chris's life wrong, and 1 time they set the record straight
1:
It starts on a night in December, after Buck tagged along with Eddie when he was bringing Chris to see Santa Claus.
“You two have an adorable son,” the elf says to Buck, after Chris is done, refusing to say what he wished for but laughing when Eddie picks him up and carries him off.
Buck doesn’t correct her. She’s doing her job, and she’s being nice, and there’s no point in making the situation awkward by pointing out the mistake.
He can’t blame her for making the assumption, either — they’re two adults, together. taking a kid out to see Santa. They’d been sitting pretty close together by the fountain, and Buck knows he’s been looking at Chris like a proud parent even though he’s not one.
It’s like a whiplash, though, going from talking to Eddie about Shannon’s place as Chris’s parent, her place in both of their lives, to someone assuming Buck is the one in that place. It makes him uncomfortable, but at the same time… there’s a longing there, for that to be true someday. Not with Eddie and Chris, but with someone.
He rejoins Eddie and Chris, and he doesn’t tell them, either. But he keeps that little mistake, and the warmth it sparked in his chest, and he holds onto it.
He doesn’t know why, not for a long time, but that one little sentence sticks with him.
2:
It’s years later, and Maddie’s just announced her pregnancy to the whole team. Eddie already knows, Buck’s excitement at the news making it impossible for him not to spill. They’re at a barbecue in Bobby and Athena’s back yard, and everyone toasts the happy couple.
Bobby turns to Buck, once the initial round of cheers and congratulations for the parents-to-be. “So you’re gonna be an uncle, huh? How’s it feeling?”
Eddie sips his beer, smiling to himself. Buck’s spoken about anything else since he heard the news, so Eddie’s pretty sure he knows the answer.
“Well, he’s already an uncle, right?” Ravi interrupts. Eddie frowns at him, and Buck looks as confused as he feels.
“What do you mean?” he asks.
Ravi looks between the two of them. “I mean, not by blood, sure, but like…” He gestures over to Christopher, playing with Denny on the ipad.
Eddie feels himself grimace. Something about it strikes him as wrong. Buck’s an important part of Chris’s life, but uncle? He thinks of his own tíos, how they’d come to visit every now and again, spend most of the time talking to his parents and talking to him just long enough to establish how he was doing in school, and whether or not he had a girlfriend.
He knows Buck won’t be like that with Maddie’s kid, but it still feels…. different.
Eddie doesn’t know how to respond to it, honestly. "Buck isn’t—that's not..." But what can he say? That's not how it is. That’s not enough to describe Buck’s importance in Chris’s life.
Eddie looks back at Buck, and sees matching confusion on his face. “Chris doesn’t call me his uncle,” he says, as though the idea has never even occurred to him. Eddie smiles at him, and Buck smiles back, and there’s a mutual understanding there.
Buck’s not Chris’s uncle. He’s… Well, he’s something else — something Eddie’s not quite ready to name yet, but there’s a piece of paper in a lawyer’s office to attest to it.
3:
Chris is not feeling good. His head is spinning, his stomach churning, and he feels both hot and cold at the same time.
“Your dad will be here soon, okay, honey?” Nurse Rodriguez tells him, after hanging up the phone. “You just sit tight and let me know if anything changes.”
He’s in the nurse’s office, staring bleary-eyed at the linoleum floor. The pattern swims around as his vision blurs, and he hugs the little basin Nurse Rodriguez had given him close, feeling more like he was gonna need it with every passing second.
“I’m here for Christopher Diaz?”
He hears a familiar voice outside the room, and it makes him relax, just knowing he’ll be home soon, able to curl up in bed or on the couch, watch TV and be taken care of.
“Mr. Diaz!” Nurse Rodriguez says, in her overly-friendly voice, and Chris laughs, lurching his stomach and making him feel so much worse.
“Uh, I’m not… I’m Buck—Evan Buckley, I mean, I should be…?”
Nurse Rodriguez backtracks, apologizing. “Oh! I am so sorry, Mr. Buckley, I see you on the emergency contact list. If you’d just sign here?”
Chris loses track of the conversation outside, focusing instead on his breathing until Nurse Rodriguez comes back in and escorts him out to Buck. Buck wraps an arm around him and helps him out to the car, then sets him up with blankets and a bucket on the couch, and serves up chicken noodle soup when Chris is able to stomach food.
He lets Chris curl into his side to take a nap, warm and comfortable, like he’s a little kid again, and he stays there even after Chris goes to bed, even after his dad gets home and comes in to check on him.
4:
Buck knocks on Hen's door, and is immediately met with an armful of sleepy infant as she passes the baby over to him. He takes it in stride, adjusting her in his arms so she's comfortable and following Hen inside.
"Everything okay?" He asks, once they're in the kitchen, surrounded by dirty mixing bowls and flour dusting every surface.
"There's a bake sale at the school tomorrow, and someone forgot to mention it until about an hour ago." She raises her voice on the word someone, pointedly glaring out to where Denny is doing his homework in the next room.
"I said I was sorry!" Denny calls back, and Hen grumbles but Buck can see there's no real resentment there.
"That's rough," Buck commiserates. "I take it we're not going to see that movie tonight, then?"
Hen shakes her head. "Sorry, man. I gotta take care of this. I do not trust Karen with baking supplies." Hen makes a face. "Granted, I'm also not spectacular at it but…"
Buck laughs. "I can help out," he offers. "I've got a great recipe for cupcakes?"
Hen makes a face. "Are you sure? You wouldn't know it, Buck, but those PTA moms are so picky about what you bring and whether it's good enough for their precious little babies—"
Buck snorts, gently settling the baby in her rocker. She fusses a little, but calms down after a moment or two. He gets the recipe up on his phone. "Oh, trust me—I know."
Hen looks confused, so he elaborates with an amused smile. "What, you think Eddie Diaz does all that stuff? I'll never forget the look on Carter's mom's face when my cookies outsold hers at the last bake sale at Chris's school." Buck chuckles to himself, then starts gathering ingredients.
"Huh, I'm sorry. I guess I just assumed—I mean, he's got his aunt, and Carla…" Hen trails off with a shrug and falls into place next to Buck, reading the recipe and pointing him to the right cupboards to find what he needs.
"They do some, when we've got work or something, but…" Buck falters. He wants to say something like "That's different," or "They're not his parents," but... neither is Buck, is he? He remembers the elf from all those years ago, how he hadn't corrected her. The feeling of wanting that.
At the time, he’d thought the want was just for a family of his own, a partner, a kid. Now, though… those lines aren’t as clear anymore.
"I like to help out," is all he says, and then switches on the mixer, effectively shutting off conversation.
5:
Eddie's had a few drinks. Buck's at work, and Chris has been coerced into going with Pepa to visit Eddie's parents for the weekend. Eddie had been supposed to go too, but he doesn't feel too guilty about playing up his injuries as an excuse not to join them. He did feel slightly bad that his parents hadn't let them off the hook entirely, insisting on taking Chris off his hands.
Chris had dragged his feet about it, but Eddie knows he's stubborn enough to stay behind if he really wants to — he likes getting to see his older cousins, and while he doesn’t want to live with them, he does like visiting his grandparents, too — if only because they spoil him rotten.
Buck hadn't wanted to leave Eddie alone tonight, not after he'd been injured on the bridge — no more than a dislocated shoulder and a few bruised ribs in the end, nothing compared to Chimney, to Bobby even Hen, but it was enough to get him signed off work for a fortnight. Things had been sketchy for a few minutes there, and for a moment, Eddie had feared… but then there was Buck, opening the doors, pulling him out by one arm.
It hurts like a bitch, but he's fine. Still, when Buck insisted on calling in Carla to keep him company tonight, Eddie didn't point out that was exactly what Buck had been so against Maddie doing for him after the lightning. He doesn't mind the company, especially since he hates being home alone at night.
Besides, Carla doesn't treat him like an invalid. She brings a bottle of some fruity gin, and Eddie orders from the nice Thai place, and they just hang out, catching up on all of the grown-up stuff they rarely get to talk about when they’re busy discussing Chris.
Still, they're halfway through the gin when Carla brings it up. "Buck said he was scared he lost you for a second there."
Eddie shrugs, then winces. He's not sure how much of the wince is because it tugged at his shoulder, and how much is the reminder. "Honestly, for a second, I was worried too. But Buck got me out." Like he always does, Eddie doesn't say. He'd come so close to telling Buck, then. Telling him everything, how he felt for him.
"You know, this house is weird without Chris in it," Carla slurs her words, just as tipsy as he is.. For a moment, Eddie thinks the subject has been changed, until she continues. "If anything does happen to you, there's no way in hell I'm letting your parents drag Chris to Texas for good. I'm gonna fight to keep that boy here, and I know Buck'll do the same."
Eddie laughs, realizing that he hadn't told her about his will. He hadn't told anyone, really, other than Pepa, Abuela and Buck. He'd known at the time it was a big deal, that people might get the wrong impression if he told them.
Turns out, it would have been the right impression after all.
"That won't be necessary," he tells her, after draining his glass.
"I know, I know — you're fine, you aren't going anywhere anytime soon."
"No, that's —well, yes, that too, but also—" Eddie gets up, gestures for her glass too, then pours them both a fresh drink. "My folks wouldn't get Chris, if anything happens. I have a will, so…" he shrugs, sitting back down and sliding Carla's glass over. "Buck's gonna look after him. If I can't anymore. Prob'ly still have to fight, but it's on paper, it's… official."
Carla hums, watching him carefully. "And Buck knows this?" she asks.
Eddie nods. "Told him after… after the shooting."
The last time Buck took Eddie’s hand, pulling him from danger, dragging him to safety.
Carla sighs, shaking her head. She looks at him like she's seeing something new, like this is the last piece in a puzzle she's been working on for years. "Why haven't either of you made a move yet?"
Eddie chokes on his drink, and she pushes a dishcloth across the table for him to mop himself up. Once he's composed himself, he meets her eye.
"Honestly?" He asks. "I can't speak for Buck, but… I'm sort of starting to wonder the same thing."
+1:
Chris is honestly tired of everyone making assumptions about Buck's place in his life. It's been clear to Chris himself for a long time—probably longer than Buck himself has known. The problem is, they've never said it out loud.
That's going to change today.
A month ago, Chris got home from Texas to find his dad and Buck making out in the kitchen.
He'd run to wash out his eyes, but then they say him down,  and the three of them had talked it out together, and he's happy for them. Happy they’ve finally started being honest with themselves, with him, and with each other.
And now, it's Christopher's turn to do the same.
He's not as good as Buck at making pancakes, but he can do French toast pretty well, so he makes enough for the three of them and sets it on the table. It's a little overcooked, but he doesn't think they'll mind.
Then he knocks on their bedroom door—because Buck may still be paying rent on his apartment for now, but he basically lives with them already. Chris likes that, likes having Buck around even more than before.
He disappears back to the kitchen before they can get to the door, calling them down when he hears Buck ask after him in a sleepy voice.
"Oh my god," his dad says, taking in the sight of the food on the table when both of them shuffle in. "This is… you made this yourself?"
"It's Father's Day, dad. I wanted to treat you."
Chris accepts the tearful hug with only minimal complaints, part of the gift.
Once they're both seated, he goes back to his room, returning with the real present.
"Carla helped with these," he explains, suddenly nervous. "I designed them, and then she sent them off to be made with the money from my allowance, um…"
Chris hands over the one on top first, putting it in front of his dad. Buck chews on his French toast, eyeing the package curiously while Eddie opens it.
Inside is a plaque, printed to look like a dictionary entry. It's cheesy as hell, but if Chris knows his dad, he'll eat it up.
It reads:
Dad (n): a firefighter with a terrible sense of humor, someone who drinks too much coffee and spends too much time on his hair. See also: Father
Just as Chris predicted, Eddie's eyes grow wet, and he reaches out for another hug, which Chris indulges again.
"What's the other one?" Buck asks.
Chris takes a deep breath. This is it, he tells himself, and he hands the second package to Buck.
Buck looks at it, then up at Chris in confusion, waiting for him to nod before opening it with slow, careful movements — it's so unlike Buck, who always tears into the wrapping paper on his birthday presents, that Chris almost wants to laugh. He doesn't, though. This is serious, after all.
Buck stares down at the plaque, the same style as the first, with a different message.
This one reads:
Buck (n): A firefighter with a terrible sense of humor, the maker of the best pancakes, someone who knows way too many random facts. See also: Father.
"Chris…" Buck's voice is soft, and he looks to be at a loss for words, so Chris speaks instead. He practiced what he’s going to say here, to make his meaning absolutely clear.
"I know I only ever call you Buck," he says, "but that's just because calling both of you dad would be confusing, and pops is Bobby." Chris laughs, thinking of the time he'd spent on his own in his room, thinking of different words for dad he could call Buck, none of them fitting until he realized why. "But… Buck means the same thing as those other names to me, and it has ever since the pier. Since you saved me. You're my Buck. And I'm your son."
Chris is bright red by the end of his speech, he doesn't think he's said that much uninterrupted to his parents in a long time, and they're both just… staring at him.
Chris initiates the hug this time, throwing himself into Buck's arms. Later, he'll claim it was just so he didn't have to see the sappy looks on their faces, but he buries his face in Buck's shoulder, feels Buck's arms around his back, and he knows without a doubt that he's safe there.
His dad joins the hug too after a moment, sandwiching Chris in the middle in a way that should be uncomfortable, but Chris smiles to himself anyway.
The two plaques hang side by side on the wall of the living room, for everyone who visits to see, clearing up any and all confusion in the matter.
Buck is Christopher's dad, nothing more, and nothing less.

I had NO IDEA what to post for this pls 🙏 all I have is angst, please forgive me @wildlife4life
Eddie’s hand fumbled to the side, like Athena’s voice had knocked a thought into his head, his fingers failing to grab onto whatever he was trying to grab a hold of. He reached up, finally, like it pained him to do so and then slapped his hand clumsily against the side of Buck’s face. “Are you hurt?”
“Trauma team has been alerted.” Dispatch reassured.
“No,” Buck answered and then looked down at himself as if to verify if he actually was. “No, no, no.” He was. Athena could see it all down his arm, a piece of glass stuck into his wrist and blood trailing lazily down to pool in the fabric of his shirt. Mehta tried to yank it away from where he was pressing into Eddie’s wound like if he held on tight enough Eddie wouldn’t fade beneath his fingers. There were probably other injuries too, at least a dozen mental ones that Athena couldn’t make better, but Buck was good at ignoring his own pain in order to focus on what was in front of him. It was probably a survival instinct. Athena didn’t like to think about what it was born out of, about how much pain he must have been in throughout his life to be able to push a piece of glass stabbing through his arm to the back of his mind. “I’m f-okay. I’m okay. You just… you just have to stay with me, okay? Just… no, no, no, no, babe, no.” Eddie didn’t listen. Athena couldn’t blame him for it. The imperative, for him, would always be to make sure Buck was okay. His eyes rolled to the back of his head, the hand that was cupping Buck’s cheek falling to hit against his thigh and… “Eddie, please.” His voice broke into a wail on the way out.
Athena was never going to unhear it. If Eddie survived this and they got married one day, Buck would say Eddie, I do and she’d hear the way his voice sounded when he was begging him to stay alive instead. He was destroyed. It was worse than when Maddie had gone missing. It was worse than finding him and Christopher after the tsunami. It was worse. She wondered if he knew he was crying.
Whoever was driving, slammed onto the brakes and parked haphazardly outside of the emergency room doors and Athena was the first one out, allowing a doctor to replace her body with his, the trauma team, indeed, responding like a well oiled machine. “He’s thirty-four,” Mehta repeated, hefting him up in a team lift and placing him messily on the gurney. “Name’s Eddie Diaz.”
“We have a son.” Buck said it like it was imperative to how Eddie would be treated. Athena was pretty sure it was just how Buck always introduced him - his name’s Eddie Diaz, we have a son. “He - he’s allergic to iodine.”
“Sir, you have to let go.” A nurse ordered without a hint of sympathy in her voice and Athena almost snapped at her for it before she remembered that the woman was just doing her job. Trying to save Eddie’s life.
Athena grabbed the back of Buck’s arm and held him in place as they wheeled Eddie away, the arm that Eddie had wrapped around Buck’s leg falling lifeless to the side.
They stayed.
Mehta breathed out and doubled forward, hands on his knees and adrenaline rushing out of his body. Athena rested her shoulders against the engine and tried to calm her own rapidly beating heart. There was glass in her hair, she had a small cut from it on her cheek, Mehta had several in his palms.
Buck stood.
He didn’t move. In fact, if Athena couldn’t see the way his chest moved up and down, she would say he wasn’t breathing at all. He had Eddie’s blood on his face, smudges of it in the shape of Eddie’s fingers, the front of his shirt and pants were destroyed, and he was dripping blood at a sluggish pace onto his own shoes. Athena wished her husband was there, for Buck but mostly for herself. She didn’t know how to triage, how to take care of her own whirling thoughts and the lack of them that seemed to be filtering into Buck’s vacant expression.
A tear disrupted the space Eddie had touched against the side of Buck’s face, curled down his chin and dripped onto his shirt, leaving an oddly clean line of skin in its wake and then he was shaking himself, visibly blinking back into his body and stumbling, hard, backwards into Athena’s foot. “Sorry.” He muttered halfheartedly, reaching out to steady her and scraping the skin of her arm with the glass that was still sticking out of his. “Shit, sorry.” He let go and Athena caught him around the wrist when his knee gave out. When his legs gave out, Mehta surging forward beside her as if to hold him up. Thankfully, a nurse had already been there, meeting them with a wheelchair for him to fall back into.
“Okay.” The nurse commanded, flitting his eyes between the two of them that were still standing. “The group of you needs to get checked out. Does anyone else need a chair?”
Athena wondered if they had been prepared for Buck to collapse backwards before, or if this particular nurse had a multitude of wheelchairs that he could make appear out of thin air. It was an absurd thought, but it was one she had anyway. She needed to call Bobby. Needed to let him know that one of his own had been gravely injured, that Buck was his and Eddie was Buck’s and that made them both, tangentially, hers. Buck looked up at her, his eyes wide and blue and petrified from where she still held onto his wrist, her fingers pressing into the wet skin coated in his own blood. “Athena.” He wasn’t even thirty, yet. He was twenty-nine. Barely even old enough to be an adult. He was so young and Athena was so old and if he couldn’t have Bobby at that moment, he would very well have her.
She set her jaw in determination. “It’s going to be okay, Buck.” She promised. “I’m not going anywhere.”
