MITCHELL | Jake Seresin
Chapter one; Our eyes meet
Tumblr media
Maverick sat down on the barstool with his daughter following him, Her following him around brought him back to the old times when she didn't want to be separated from him when she was a little girl.
"How was the mach nine?" She asked as they enters the Hard Deck.
"Oh, I blow it." He said beaming.
"I'm sorry what?" Y/n ask him not believing her ears, questioning herself did she get it right. He nods with his eyes on his phone talking to Iceman.
"Oh, you've got to be kidding me." A voice said. The Mitchells lift their head to see Penny Benjamin.
"Pete," Penny said with a smile.
"Penny?" Maverick says leaning into the bar, not believing his eyes. He went ballistic with Penny Benjamin when he was younger. After her mother passed away he starts to learn to move on, he met Penny again got into trouble, and got deployed somewhere else by the Admiral.
"Heya Pen."
"What are you doing here?"
"I should ask you the same thing." Y/n watch the adults interact with a glint of curiosity, they were being suspicious. Like they are still attracted to each other. The two practically stared into each other's souls.
"Please for the sake of my sanity stop eye fucking each other." Her words made them break their stare, an innocent smile forming on her face. "Penny, can I have a Soda?"
Penny nods then asked what's her dad doing here, he starts to tell her how this is his last post. Penny did not believe him.
"Come on Pete, you've been saying that as long as I've known you. You said that after you take me on a joy ride in an F-18 and the next thing I know you're off to Bosnia. Then Iraq, both times. You've got yourself in trouble and Iceman makes a call." Penny said giving Maverick a beer and her Soda. "And you're back into the air."
"Penny..." Maverick starts.
"Too late." Penny interrupts, "You're about to ask me what time I get off."
Maverick shakes his head with a smile, "Don't give me that look" she said making Y/n snort, she's aware that her dad's smile is cocky and pretty sure he doesn't have any look other than that.
"I'm not giving you any look, I swear."
"You know how it always ends for us," Penny eyed him.
Y/n eyes watched him lean to the counter with a smile, "You look good." He said to Penny, Penny takes a step back and rings the bell causing people to cheer at the sound.
"Much appreciated pal." A Navy said patting her dad's shoulder.
"What am I missing here?" Maverick asked Penny and Y/n.
Penny step aside to reveal the plate behind her, guess he didn't see it because he was too busy lost in Penny's eyes. 'Disrespect a lady, the Navy, or put your cell phone on my bar you buy a round.' Maverick turned to face his daughter, "You knew about this?"
"The plate is right in front of you, you would have known it if you weren't too focused on Penny."
He rolled his eyes, he looks around there were a lot of people "For everyone?"
"I'm afraid rules are rules, sir," Y/n said in a military tone.
"You're lucky it's early." Penny continues.
Y/n takes her glass into her hand with her eyes scanning the room, her eyes meet another pair of eyes.
Jake Seresin suddenly feels the room turn quiet when his eyes lie on the h/c. As if everything in this room faded away, everything felt so slow. Y/n send him a small smile and look away embarrassed that she got caught looking at someone.
He snapped out of it when he saw a familiar face causing him to smirk, "Look what do we have here, Phoenix." He walks closer to Phoenix, "And here I thought we were special, Coyote." He added.
"Fellas this here is bagman." Phoenix was introduced to the guys behind her.
"Hangman." He corrected with a forced smile.
"Whatever, you are looking at the naval aviator that has to kill."
"Stop." Jake joked.
"Mind you the guy was in a museum piece from a Korean war," Phoenix finished.
"Cold War," Coyote said.
"Different war same century." A guy from behind Phoenix stated.
"Who are your friends?" Coyote asked.
"Payback." Reuben Fitch said.
"Fanboy." Mickey Garcia says with a nod.
Phoenix nods her head beside her, "Who's he?" A guy with glasses patting away the crumbs from his uniform.
"When did you get in?"
"Oh, I've been here the whole time." He replied with a sweet smile.
"The man is a stealth pilot." Coyote joked.
"Weapons system actually." He answered not getting the joke.
"With no sense of humor." Jake nods. He keeps stealing glances to the barstool, watching her having a conversation with an older guy beside her. He felt his heart pump faster when he hears her laugh at the man's words beside her.
"You need a drink? I'll get it." Jake pushes the cue to Phoenix.
Phoenix was a little shocked that was new to him. She turns back to the guy asking questions.
"What do they call you?"
"Bob." He answered.
"No, your call sign." Payback asked.
"Uh, Bob."
"Bob Floyd? You're my new back seater?" Phoenix asked him, "From Lemoore?" She asked.
"Looks like it, yeah," Bob replied.
Fanboy perked up remembering that he was assigned as a back seater to someone who has Ciel as their call sign, "Do any of you know Ciel? I was assigned as their back seater."
Phoenix's jaw dropped "Ciel? Lucky you, Ciel's back seater quit being a naval aviator, said he doesn't want his wife to be a widow any time sooner." She quickly looks around for her friend.
Her eyes twinkles when she found Ciel or her civilian named Y/n Mitchell, sitting on the barstool with an older guy that she did not know that happens to her old man. Phoenix was about to call her but shut her mouth when Y/n put her index finger on her lips which Phoenix nods at.
"Penny my dear," He near the barstool making sure to make yet another eye contact with the h/c woman. "All four more on the old-timer."
Y/n noticed the guy is slowly approaching her, she look at her glass of Soda pretending to not know he was not going to talk to her.
"I'm Hangman." He reached his hand out to her.
She decided to play the guy's ego, she shook his hand "Well that's unfortunate." Y/n said pretending to not know it's a call sign making Maverick smirk at her words.
"No, it's my call sign." He said.
"Call sign? Oh, you're a pilot" Y/n send him an awed face, she fake gasp not that he knows. Pretending to not like her dad did not brief her about pilots introducing themselves with their call signs but for the sake of having fun.
"That's right, a naval aviator." He responds proudly. She cleared her throat, "I'm Y/n Mitchell." She said with a smile.
"Jake seresin." He plastered a smirk on his face making her bashfully look away from his gaze.
"Here you go." Penny interrupts giving the Ken doll look-alike his beers.
"It was nice talking to you, Hangman" Y/n flash him a smile.
"Thank you, much-appreciated pops," Jake said nodding to Maverick and sending Y/n a flirtatious wink causing her to giggle.
Penny turns to Maverick with a knowing smile.
"Bradshaw! is that you?" Phoenix's voice called out.
Y/n turned her head to the entrance, where he is. Almighty Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw. Her childhood best friend. She looks at her dad with a toothy grin but turned into a sad smile when she saw him turn his head to avoid being seen by his godson, the Mitchell man pulled out the young Bradshaw papers, setting Bradley's career back four years.
She chuckled when she saw Phoenix hit him in the gut with the cue. She watched Jake talk with Bradley, to be honest, it's more like joking around but in a weird way.
Phoenix leans to his shoulder "I heard Ciel's coming in this mission."
"Ciel? Already?" More aviators starts to enter the hard deck with the evening rush, Fanboy was looking at them.
"The hell kind of a mission is this?"
"That's not what we're supposed to be asking," Phoenix continued "Everyone here is the best there is, who the hell are they going to teach us?"
"Any of them is Ciel?" Fanboy asks Phoenix.
"Nope," Phoenix dragged the p. "Ciel just finished her last mission, from what I heard she shot down 5 of the enemy fighter jets."
Everyone's jaw hanged, 5 of enemy fighter jets? That's higher than  Jake "Hangman" Seresin.
Back to the main character, Y/n tapped her father on the shoulder whispering she was going to the restroom. As she walks she felt someone's eyes behind her head.
Entering the restroom she turn the water on to wash her hands as she stared at her reflection in the mirror. The door swung open and in walked the guy she talked to before on the bar.
"This is the ladies' restroom, the gentleman is across from this one," Y/n told him looking at him from the mirror.
"Oh I'm not looking for the restroom," He said.
Y/n 'oh'ed at his words, She turned around leaning her back at the counter with her arms crossed, "So what did you wanna do, just drop right down on the tile and go for it?" She asked him tapping the ground with her shoe as he approached.
Jake put his hands on the counter-pressing them hard, checking if it can hold someone on it, "No, I had the counter in mind." He said looking at her.
Y/n reach her arm for the tissue, "Great, that would be very, very comfortable yeah."
"It could be unless you prefer standing instead." He says with a smirk leaning on his hand on the counter making her shake her head at him while she wipes her hands.
"Actually, I came in here to save you from making a big mistake with that older guy." Jake said kissing his teeth.
"Really? So I could go on to a bigger one with a young guy like yourself?" She throws the tissue away looking back at Jake whom she thinks is fun to mess with.
"Maybe?" He tilts his head while he raises his eyebrow.
She pushed herself from the counter "I've gotta be at work very early in the morning." She sends him a tight-lipped smile. He shrugs with a smug look, he catches her arm.
"Wait," he pulled her hand to his chest, she raise one eyebrow "I  have a friend and he's waiting outside. Wanna fool him?" He asked.
"Aw, what's in it for me?" She tilts her head with her chin high.
"You'll have fun with a guy like me," he says shaking her hand.
"Still don't know what's in it for me."
"I'll buy you a drink next time we see each other," He said with a wink.
"What makes you think we'll see each other next time?" She asked.
"Hey you'll never know, you might miss me." He grinned, leaning down to her face and brushing some stray hair out of her face.
"Fine," She rolled her eyes.
They both walked out of the restroom, her eyes scanning through the crowd. "So which one is your friend that we're gonna fool?"
"That one, see that guy staring at his beer?" Jake whispers into her ear and points at the guy.
"He looks like he's staring at his lover," Y/n commented making him grin at her words.
She was about to walk towards the guy but Jake grabbed her wrist, he turns her head towards him.
"Just need to do this," he wipes her lower lip, wiping her lipstick. Her heart feels like it's going to burst. "Now when you walk to him, apply your lipstick again so he'll believe it."
"Wow, You're full of surprises." She said, stepping away and starting to walk toward Coyote with her lipstick in her hand.
"Your friend was magnificent," she said as she reapplied her lipstick, he looks up from his beer watching her figure walking away. Jake stood beside him with a smug smirk.
"Nah, that can't be."
She takes her to sit back next to her dad who stares at her with a slight scolding eye, she raises her hands "What? I didn't do anything, besides it was fun messing with him."
"Let's go, I'll drive you home, where are you staying?" Maverick asked.
"At Penny's. She offered a place for me to stay as soon she knows I'm in town."
Penny walks to Mitchells with a card in her hand, she slides the card to Maverick "It's been declined." He takes out his wallet for the cash.
"That wouldn't cover it." Penny hands him the check, he cannot believe the bill she had given him.
"I'll come back tomorrow bringing the cash" Maverick responded. Penny walks to the bell holding the rope, "I'm afraid rules are rules, Pete." She rings the bell once again, and then the crowds cheers and starts chanting "Overboard."
"Really?" Maverick said to Penny. Who smiles innocently at him.
"You've should use my money," She sighed as Jake and two other guys walks behind her dad, Jake winked at Y/n. He placed a hand on the older man's shoulder and nods at Coyote before lifting him from the ground.
"It's great to see you Pete!" Penny yelled.
"I'll see you later, Do you want me to cook dinner?" Y/n said gathering her stuff.
"Great, I'll see you at home. Tell Amelia that I'll be home soon." Penny beamed, to Penny, Y/n feels like another daughter of her. She gives out good pieces of advice, she showed up at her high school graduation.
"See ya later." She waved bye to Penny on her way she heard someone playing the piano, causing her to stop in mid tracks. He was playing their favorite song when they were little.
She look towards the piano to see her brother's figure playing, Bradley who felt he was being watched glanced to his shoulder to his sister's figure waving at him. She makes a phone like in her hand mouthing call me before leaving the Hard Deck.
Y/n walks out to find her dad staring inside the Hard deck listening to the crowd singing along with Bradley who's playing Great Balls of Fire. He was quiet and looked pale.
"Dad, are you okay?" She asked him.
"No it's okay sweetie, I'm fine. Come on let's go home." Maverick said pulling her into a side hug.

"The Last Person Left" Simon "Ghost" Riley/John "Soap" MacTavish & Male Reader
Summary: After the death of John "Soap" MacTavish, a funeral is held for the family left behind, right next to Simon "Ghost" Riley, the married couple is finally together in death and in peace. (Y/N), asked by the grandchildren left behind, shares a relatively innocent if not funny story from when both men were still alive and working in the military, albeit a bit sanitised for the children's ears.
Warnings: This will be discussing a bit of death as well as being in a funeral. Do not read if you are not comfortable with this discussion.
Additional notes: This is part two to my werewolf series, if you click on the link to Ao3 you can find part one called "A little wolf and its handler" I also posted it on here but I don't know how to leave the little links.
Words: 1200
The day was cold, moisture clung to the air signalling rain to come. (Y/N) knelt down, his knee instantly getting wet from the dew of the rain. His calloused hand swept over the first gravestone, getting all dirt and debris off it. He looked to the other, much newer and still white. “I will miss you both, more than you will ever realise.” He whispered before placing the flowers on the graves. He stood up and stepped back.
Simon Riley
19XX - 20XX
John MacTavish
19XX - 20XX
(Y/N) had been in their lives for so long and yet the man himself was barely greying despite it all. John’s deterioration as Alzheimer's took root in ways (Y/N) couldn’t help him. It was hard on the man, though equally hard on the kids left behind, both the adult people who already looked older than (Y/N) himself, and people (Y/N) had helped raise.
Their kids in all but blood. While (Y/N) had never been romantically involved with Simon or John, they still were strong together, they still belonged together. They were a unit, both in the field but also as civilians. Instead of fighting for their lives, they were raising children together and… well two of them had grown old together, leaving just the wolf behind.
A choke forced its way through his throat. (Y/N) felt a comforting hand on his shoulder as he turned to look at their oldest kid standing beside him, his own daughter at his side. “It’s alright Pa, Dad and Father are together now, neither of them is in pain. Come on, let's head inside.”
As they all walked inside, (Y/N) scooped his granddaughter up in his arms, holding her close. She was crying silently and no one could do anything. So, he just held onto her. He would be the pillar their family needed, everyone would mourn, get through it and move on, even if (Y/N) couldn’t.
Once inside, coffee, cake and some sandwiches were brought out. People smiled and shared stories. They celebrated the life that had been as both men would have wanted. One of the grandkids looked at (Y/N) with big eyes and asked, “Grandpa, what did you and grandfather and grandad do for work?” The room got a bit tense, as the past was never discussed while the two men were alive.
Though (Y/N) leaned forward and looked at the kid with a small smile. “We helped protect the world from evil people.” He said, a twinkle of amusement in his eyes.
The children all gathered around and sat down. “Like a superhero?” One of the kids asked and (Y/N) nodded before chuckling to himself.
“Yes, much like a superhero. We…” (Y/N) knew he couldn’t share much of their time in the military. Between the war crimes, brutal killings, weapons of mass destruction and (Y/N)’s own personal transformation on certain occasions, the stories were nothing that children should hear. “We did a lot of bad things to bad people, I can’t talk about it. They are secrets and I am a good secret keeper. But, without what we did, this world would be a lot more different than it is today.”
“Pleaseee Grandpa, just tell us one story.” His granddaughter asked.
(Y/N) smiled fondly. “When you all get older, I will.” He said. “Though, I can tell you a story from one time on base when we were bored.” That got everyone's attention. Adult as well as child. People pulled up chairs as (Y/N) leaned back.
“We had just gotten off mission a week prior and nothing was set to happen for a full two more weeks, but we couldn’t leave as we could get a call at any second. So,” he looked around the room, “your granddad, grandfather and I all decided to mess around with some of the recruits and create a legend in the area. My transformation was still hidden back then, we didn’t want too many to find out.” He chuckled fondly at the memory and thought back to it.
“Soap, ya dunce, are you certain that we can pull this off?” (Y/N), half naked and still very human, asked.
“I wouldn’y worry about that, Beast. Just be quiet and ye shouldn’y worry about a’body finding out.” Soap said, crackling like a maniac.
“Speak English.” Ghost said, though made no attempts at stopping either of them. Far too bored to even care about it.
“Aye, I shall when you stop being crabbit.” Soap said. “Aff with yer clothes. Just a wee wolf. Don’t go all Lycan on us.”
“Ha. Ha. McTavish.” (Y/N) said monotone. “If you aren’t careful I will just eat you.” (Y/N) dropped his pants and started the transformation. It was quick. Not having to go full-on wolf but rather a less-haired lycan, complete with fully white eyes and black fur that almost seemed to curl at certain points on the body, took less than a toll on the body.
Ghost walked over to the wolf, which still stood taller than he was but not by the usual impressive amount. “Down to the lake, scare a few of the soldiers walking, don’t get seen and come back.” He gave the order with practised ease before opening the door to the tool shed.
(Y/N) went out quickly, easily falling into the shadows of the night.
“In the end, we got caught by Price and scolded for trying to scare people and he forced us to be on clean-up duty for the full two weeks while we waited for something to do, since we clearly were bored.” (Y/N) said, chuckling. A few of his grandkids chuckled at the story.
(Y/N) looked over to the doorway as he felt new eyes on him. He saw the familiar, though now white-haired, Garrick standing in the doorway. “So that’s why you were all scrubbing the toilet for weeks. Price never told me why.”
(Y/N) nodded and shrugged before standing up. “It was fun. Not the clean-up detail, but getting into shit with 'em both.”
Garrick chuckled. “Come on, old man, let's get you home.”
(Y/N) bid his family goodbye and headed with Garrick towards where he lived. (Y/N) took care of the team and would do so until they all died. Perhaps he would find the ones like him afterwards. They could all live out their lives in the mountains where no one would find them. Or, perhaps, (Y/N) could return to Canada, and find his biological family or whatever is left of them.
He didn’t have any plans despite having close to 200 years left in him before his body would break down beyond repair. His bones already ached from over a hundred years of active service. He had always dreaded civilian life but now, it seemed to suit him well. (Y/N) wanted to at least see his children to the grave before disappearing. So far, all he had was no plans and a lot of time on his hands. At least another 50 years of being Grandpa. 50 years without his life partners.

2. CHAPTER TWO: "I won."
&.
As mocking laughter surrounded the Great Hall in the way Min Yoongi was pulling you kind of forcefully towards the exit and also making you trip over your weak legs, you felt a deep heaviness in your whole body. You felt your heart at the pit of your stomach and you were ready to throw up the closer you got to the entrance doors.
His hand grabbed one of your arms, which were still held by the bonding charm behind your back, and pulled you towards the big doors. Those big doors that once were almost the doors of your freedom; those big doors that once you crossed them believing they were the entrance of your new home at the age of eleven. How wrong you had been. Crossing those doors had only brought you pain and misery since day one, when a Slytherin kid spat that horrible word at you just because you walked next to her and said 'hi'.
Mudblood; that's what you had been for them since the very beginning, and they wouldn't see past that. They wouldn't see that you were also a human being, just like them.
But for all the pain that you were feeling remembering all of that, you also felt a tiny bit of light ignite inside your chest as you approached the big doors, imagining that finally after a long, painful year you would get to see the blue clear sky. It didn't matter if it was Spring or Fall, Summer or Winter, you just wanted to go outside and breathe. Breathe again the air of the outside lands. Breathe freedom.
Maybe… maybe if you were fast enough, you could try to run for it once you were behind those doors. It would be just you and him in the hallway that led towards the entrance stairs of Hogwarts castle, and you were confident that you could at least push him –and if he fell from the stairs after you pushed him, the better– and try to escape. You felt it; the adrenaline traveling up from your legs and filling your whole body was giving you the last dosage of strength that you knew you actually didn't have. You felt you had a chance.
But you were just deluding yourself, and you knew it, as Min Yoongi kept a tight grip on your arm pulling you like you were an annoying sack of potatoes he had to carry around. What were the actual chances that you could overpower him? You had to admit that he wasn't the languid boy he was two years ago, and that thought scared you a bit. What exactly had he been doing to get like that?
A chill ran through your back as you remembered what snake face had said, about Min Yoongi recently being one of his most loyal followers. Correction, you didn't want to know what he had been doing, you already felt disgusted by him, by all of them.
As you both finally reached the doors, you closed your eyes, your heart constricting tight in your chest. You finally were about to leave this hell, but still a lot of innocent people were staying. You couldn't avoid feeling bad for them, for not being able to do any fucking thing to help them. And now, who the hell knew what kind of place Yoongi was taking you? For all you thought, it could be worse than what you had already experienced.
The doors opened and the bright orange light of a beautiful sunset blinded your unused to natural light eyes, the strong wind of the afternoon collided with the bruised skin of your arms and legs, a burning sensation travelling your body thanks to it, and the fresh air that went inside your lungs made you want to cry. Of happiness? Of sadness? Of relief? You didn't know, but you still wanted to cry.
Min Yoongi stopped once you both crossed the doors and stood there, still holding you, as the doors began to close behind you and another round of painful screams started again from the other ones picked to entertain the Death Eaters. Whether he stopped to let you adjust to the almost outside natural light and ambience or he stopped just to ensure that the doors closed completely, you didn't know.
All you knew was that this was it; this was the moment for one final fight.
When you opened your eyes fully, you analysed everything that surrounded you. There wasn't any Death Eater around, everyone was inside the Great Hall, probably now feeling a bit more brave to ask or beg for their wishes to the Dark Lord, considering that he had granted Min Yoongi a very big one. However, you were wrong. There were two still standing and guarding the entrance to the castle.
Fuck. That escape route was crossed. You needed to find another, and fast.
Adrenaline traveled throughout your entire body making you feel you could do it, you could do this, you could even fly if you wanted. Despite the burning bruises and bleeding cuts and the after effects of the Cruciatus Curse that were pulling you to an unconscious state that you were fighting back with all your might, you felt like you could finally get your longed for freedom.
Having been friends not only with the Golden Trio, but also the Weasley twins, had granted you the knowledge of certain passages that could be ideal for your grand escape.
But how? How the hell could you distract Yoongi enough so you were able to run away? How could you convince him to end the charm that held your arms at your back?
Suddenly, and as if a cat appeared out of nowhere in front of a mouse –or well, that's how his sudden movement made you feel– he stood right in front of you. His eyes no longer held that previous fear you saw inside the Great Hall, but he was still on alert.
"I'm going to wave the charm off, but try anything stupid and I'll even gag you if I have to," his eyes just as his words were threatening now, yet all you could process in your mind was that he was going to let your hands free.
Thanks to all the heavens above!
As the feeling of the ropes freeing your wrists finally came, you brought your hands in front of you, massaging the skin to relieve the tension in which they were previously held.
"Now, let's g-..." His words got stuck in his throat as you propelled yourself forward, knee up and ready to kick him in the balls. But he was considerably taller than you now, so you only reached his thigh, close enough for him to hiss and bend over towards you in pain. You took advantage of his state and pushed him back, away from you, and made him groan in pain as he hit the floor.
You ran to the left hallway, happy that finally you got to actually kick a Death Eater good. You wanted to laugh in satisfaction for that matter, but you had other things to focus your energy at the moment. Your legs felt like heavy iron, nevertheless you kept running. You didn't care if you ended up having to jump from a window right into the lake, you were going to have your freedom one way or another.
The excitement of feeling almost free made you smile hugely as you ran through the hallway. Your goal was to get to one of the passages behind a big portrait of a woman wearing a big hat decorated with feathers of different colours that looked absolutely outrageous and inadequate for the time she looked she belonged to; but despite her image, the lady had always been nice enough to let whomever was kind to her pass through into the passage. No one knew who originally made that passage, yet the glint of mischievousness in her eyes every time some new student showed knowledge over the passage and asked her permission to cross the hidden way out of the castle made you believe she more than knew who had been–if not herself.
You turned left again on the next corner watching in the distance the portrait at the fair end. The lady was sitting on her fancy wooden chair, hands folded neatly and elegant over her lap, the expression on her face gloomy–instead of the normal elegant seriousness she always portrayed. She looked exactly like the whole castle might felt, depressed and sad, hopeless. However, when the lady felt the heavy pants of someone coming her way, she looked up, her eyes finding your desperate ones, begging in the distance for her to let you cross. She stood up, hands moving rapidly encouraging you to keep running as the portrait started to open. You wanted to cry in happiness as it did, the passage coming to view.
Your way out to freedom. Finally freedom. You could even taste it at the tip of your tongue, feel it with the fingertips of your hands.
And then, everything happened in slow motion, yet too fast to comprehend what had happened until it did.
Three steps and you were almost at the door of freedom.
It felt like someone had thrown a rope with a shape of a circle at the end that caught you right at the waist, like those you have seen probably in some western movie with your dad on Sunday Movie Night, when people caught horses, animals, to contain them and render them to the ground. However this time, it took you moments to realize it hadn't been a rope that held you back from freedom, but a pair of strong arms around your waist that pulled you back and then pushed you face against one of walls of the hallway, a strong and big body against your back, holding you forcefully against the wall.
"Fuck,Y/N! Do you have a fucking death wish, you bloody idiot?!" Yoongi's voice growled in your right ear, his breath also panting heavily.
You wanted to answer yes, but all the effort you had put in that run plus the heavy pain in your front from the collision against the wall had left you unable to pronounce a single word. That and the fact that you felt a tight knot in your throat as the last chance of freedom slipped through your fingers, the portrait closing again. The lady looked painfully sad at you, another victim of this cruel living world that she couldn't do anything to help considering she no longer belonged to it. Tears ran down her face and you smiled sadly at her, hoping that she felt that despite not making it you were thankful to her.
Your attention went back again to the man behind your back when you felt one of his hands grab your hair and pulled it back, pressing himself more against you and the wall and his cheek pressed against yours, "I swear to the fucking gods, Y/N, pull something like that again and I'll fucking kill you."
For a second, you felt disgusted over the fact that your traitorous mind brought the idea that the position Min Yoongi had you right now, in another time, another moment –probably another lifetime too– was hot as hell. However, all the hatred you felt for that man and his kind won over any other feeling you could have.
"If you wanted to kill me you would have already done so… Admit it, you don't have the balls," you taunted, enjoying a bit when the grip on your hair tightened more–very masochistic of you considering everything.
"You know nothing of what I'm capable of," he spat back, his heavy breath colliding with the skin of your cheek and his deep voice making every hair on your body stand in alarming caution of what he was going to say next. "Should we ask your dear friend Hoseok? Or, what was left of him…"
Your breath got stuck midway to your lungs at his words, and his taunting laugh made everything in you reach a new level of grief.
No. He was lying. He had to be lying. Yoongi was just trying to get to your head. No. Hoseok couldn't be…
"You're fucking lying," you half growled, half sobbed. Your hands closed in tight fists against the wall, trying to hold back the desire to scream, to kick and fight– even though you knew the wall wouldn't be baffled by your desperate intent of hurting anything and everything in your path, especially Min Yoongi.
He chuckled maliciously, "Am I?"
You closed your eyes, resting your forehead on the dirty wall, your heart dropping at your feet at what Yoongi had just said.
Hoseok…
Thinking about the one person who had always shown you anything but kindness in this world dead took the last strength to fight back away, the last light of hope extinguished, darkening everything inside you. What was the point now? What was the reason to keep fighting, to keep trying to reach that freedom you once felt desperately to get, if Hoseok was not out there waiting for you?
His face invaded your mind, his sincere and gorgeous smile welcoming you every morning at Gryffindor's common room where he waited for you to get ready to go have breakfast together. His eyes filled with a happiness that was contagious and warm. His hugs that always made you feel safe and at ease. His elegant and soft hands that tended to find their way to your face, coddling your cheeks as his thumbs cleaned the path of your tears sliding down after some other person –mainly from Slytherin– called you that word that everyone in Gryffindor despised.
Hoseok belonged to an ancient family of well respected purebloods, the Jung family, that despite being powerful and purebloods, they loathed the mistreatment of any kind of creature. And since day one at Hogwarts, the Jung family, especially Hoseok, had taken you under their wing. You had lost count in the amount of trouble Hoseok got himself in with the house of Slytherin due to their treatment of you. He was a right sunshine, except when he got mad. And being a Gryffindor with a high value of loyalty and braveness, it didn't surprise his family the amount of detentions he got.
A small sad smile broke in your face as you remembered the time you actually got in a heated discussion with him, trying to get him to stop defending you so he would stop getting detentions. What had been his damned blunt answer? "I can't let them treat the future Mrs. Jung like that."
You remembered how everyone in the common room had silenced, awaiting your reaction. It wasn't shocking news that he had fancied you clearly since day one. He was the kind of man that knew what he wanted just by looking or thinking about it once; and he always got it at the end. But this was the very first time he said out loud, he proclaimed there to everyone that you definitely were going to be his, and something comfortably warmed inside you at his words. So after that heated discussion and his words, it was a matter of time for you both to make it official.
In a blink of an eye, you had strolled at where Hoseok was standing with his arms crossed over his chest –stubborn as you were– with one of his eyebrows raised at you, as if daring you to contradict any of his words. He didn't expect you to react the way you did, nevertheless he welcomed you gladly when your arms surrounded his neck and your lips collided with his, his arms evolving your waist and pressing you to his body a second after the shock wore off.
Claps, howls and whistles of cheering deafened the Gryffindor common room as finally the Gryffindor's princess Y/L/N Y/N and the Knight of Gryffindor Jung Hoseok accepted each other's unsaid love feelings. Not that you actually paid any attention to your surroundings as Hoseok's lips felt that good and right against yours, an immense happiness surrounding your entirely being right there in his arms.
However, you came to learn that happiness was a state of mind that didn't last long, especially in this world.
You had your forehead pressed against his, smiling contentedly and happy, everyone around you two laughing and yelling things like "eww, get a room!", "you go, Hoseok, you lucky bastard", "aww, they look so cute together", "I swear, these two are meant to be", when someone ran agitatedly through the entrance of Gryffindor tower, a panicked expression on his face. Everyone silenced again.
"T-T-There are Death Eaters in the Castle! There's a battle at the Astronomy Tower!"
Yes. There was the moment everything went spiraling downwards, and it never went back up til the very present moment where Death Eater Min Yoongi had you forcefully pinned against a wall and confessed that in some way he had been involved in the death of the man you… once loved.
Hoseok had been the main reason you wanted, needed that freedom you so desperately fought for minutes ago and what kept your mind sane till this day. But now…
Now, there was no reason to fight anymore.
As tears made their appearance on your eyes and slipped down through your face like a pouring rain with no intentions to stop, Yoongi felt your body go slack in between his body and the wall, all the tense and resistance in your person gone. You weren't sobbing nor shaking in your cry, you were just there, the unstoppable tears wetting your face, but nothing else.
But you did feel. You felt how Yoongi pulled your body away from the wall, holding your whole weight on him as you no longer cared to. He picked you up, one of his arms holding you from the back of your legs and the other your upper body. The motion made your head rest its weight on the nape of his neck, your arms slack over your lap, your palms stinging thanks to the nails that had crossed the skin due to the force you had had them closed in fists.
You didn't care about the pain anymore. You didn't care about anything anymore.
"Fuck, Y/N," he cursed as he started to walk away from the place you had been, the Lady of the portrait crying as you were, watching you go away in the arms of a Death Eater. Of course, you would have known that if you had looked on her way.
"I didn't fucking plan to tell you this way," Yoongi protested, his voice filled with anger.
But you did, you wanted to answer back angrily too, but didn't. Couldn't.
You couldn't because every emotion and feelings had gone away from your body. You felt a numbness, a carelessness for whatever happened from now on to yourself or in general surround your body like the warm hugs Hoseok used to give you.
You didn't even care anymore where Yoongi was taking you, as a blackness darkened everything around you, including your soul.
.
Your eyes were open, but you weren't actually seeing as Min Yoongi walked through the hallways of the castle towards what had been professor Dumbledore's office. Throughout one of the hallways, you saw at the distance a Death Eater walking past a contiguous one followed by another four of the prisoners you have at least once shared a cell down on the dungeons, all of them chained one behind another, looking as beaten and weak as you did. Again, you just saw, but didn't actually watch them walk and almost stop surprised and worried when they looked in the direction Yoongi walked towards them with you in his arms.
You, the only one of all the prisoners who still put up a fight against any Death Eater, including Voldermort himself. You, the one who always cared about everyone down there to put your own pain aside and take care of them in whatever way you could–which sometimes consisted in only giving them comforting words of encouragement. You, who were every prisoner's little light of hope in this hell they were living in. You, who now looked like you had completely given up.
The Death Eater pulled the chains like ordering them to keep walking, but they were so shocked by the state you were in they felt like crying.
You were crying. You haven't stopped crying since Yoongi's revelation of what happened to Hoseok. The actual way he died was something you didn't want to know yet, but just the acknowledgment that he no longer belonged to the living world broke something inside you never thought could happen. In all that year you were captive at Hogwarts castle, never, not even once, the thought of him dead ever entered your mind. He was too… Jung Hoseok to actually be dead. That sounded stupid even in your thoughts, but there just wasn't any other way to explain how and who Hoseok was. Charming, kind, a right gentleman in all the word. He was called the Knight of Gryffindor because he was always defending and taking care of someone–it didn't matter what house that someone belonged to.
You just couldn't comprehend how or why he was dead. Hoseok was an excellent duelist, smart and agile with his wand. He just simply was too good to have missed whichever curse someone would have thrown at him.
He just… couldn't be dead.
But if he was dead… so were you.
What was the point of keep going, keep fighting? You'd just rather join him wherever he was, gladly.
The war was already lost.
They won.
For a moment, for a split of a second, your eyes found a pair of blue ones that looked at you with desperation, with worry and anger at the same time, as his mouth moved. But you didn't hear him, you couldn't hear him. Suddenly, you recognized him; he was in your year at school, Michael… something, you couldn't remember his surname. He was talking to you, or more like screaming something at you while being dragged by the other Death Eater. You even saw in slow motion the red light of the Cruciatus Curse colliding with him, but he kept screaming at you.
"...giving up? Y/N!" You finally heard something, but it was as if two hands were covering your ears, preventing you from hearing clearly, once you had already passed the guy in the arms of Min Yoongi.
Yoongi stopped walking, turning a bit and looking menacingly at the guy who was now on his knees, whole body shaking and spamming due to the recent curse his body went through. He had to give it to the guy, he was strong in Yoongi’s opinion, to endure the curse and still hold onto his last thought.
The anger Yoongi saw in the eyes of the other Death Eater just made him shiver, because he knew that look. This guy was going to be dead by morning, if not before. Yoongi looked away, looking like he could care less.
"You can't give up, Y/N!!"
This time you did hear him, loud and clear. And your heart shattered one more time, because even if you tried, you just simply couldn't anymore.
Your eyes found blue ones once more, as you said, "They won."
And with that, Yoongi turned to keep on destination as the other Death Eater laughed out loud, maliciously and mockingly, and the rest of the prisoners cried louder than you ever heard them before.
"You won," you whispered one more time, this time at the guy, the man that had you in his arms.
"I won," Yoongi repeated, and something broke inside him.

I remember when I thought Azula was the most insufferable bitch out there.
Tumblr media
And then this sack of shit came along, and she brought her nasty fandom with her.
Tumblr media
Funny thing is, I don’t remember Avatar making light of Azula’s war crimes just because she was a 14-year old princess. She was young, she was brainwashed, but she understood full well what she was doing and cared little for who suffered for it, And the show didn’t pretend she was an innocent. Or use her age as an excuse for her to escape punishment. Azula was portrayed as a tragic villain, but still one who urgently needed to be defeated if peace were to be achieved. And this was a show originally aimed at preteens.
Attack on Titan, a show rated for adults, has a brainwashed child who has committed war crimes that could easily rival Azula’s and yet her age is constantly used as an excuse to let her off easy. And she essentially got no lasting comeuppance, a few harsh words and a bloody nose but the heroes barely even curse her for her crimes. Her crimes against them, against humanity, her crimes that put her own home in the path of a global cataclysm. Gabi knew what she was doing, regardless of her brainwashing, but she doesn’t get put in her place as a war criminal like Azula was. She got rewarded.
Something is very off about this and this is the kind of thing that effectively kills the excuses Gabi’s obnoxious defenders have stuck with for four years. Avatar seemed to have a better grasp on how crime and punishment work than this fecal matter did.
There any Gabi fans here who really want to keep that act up? There are kids younger than both of these girls who have done even WORSE things in real life.
You guys in short, you’re full of shit.
And yeah, I would gladly sic Azula on Gabi’s ass, that is a one on one that would not end well for Isayama’s pet.
There is no Attack on Titan with Gabi. Seriously, fuck her fandom.

Shizun 016 - Sect rules
With the new addition to the house, the household budget was a little less tight.
Lu Yunzhen decided to celebrate and brought home a reusable bag full of good quality meat dishes. He also stopped by the temple to buy some nice incense for Jin Yunu.
As he got home with his bags he saw Mo Changkong and Jin Yunu staring at a phone in the yard saying something he couldn’t hear. The two heard him approach and turned simultaneously, “Shizun (master), you’re home?”
His home was getting more and more rowdy.
Lu Yunzhen loved this kind of warm atmosphere. He put on his apron and made two veggie side dishes in the kitchen. He then remembered to light the incense for Jin Yunu so he could worship himself but as he approached he found Mo Changkong playing a mobile game…….
It was the newest smartphone costing nearly ten thousand bucks.
The game that he was playing was a new one that’s still in beta named Hero. His martial arts skills didn’t translate to gaming at all. He didn’t know the moves and would pick a wild hero wanting to solo the enemy team. Then he would immediately get killed off immediately and get yelled at by teammates while waiting to respawn.
Demonaziu: “You noob kid! How are your teachers teaching you?! Go back to class and stop trying to play games like the adults!”
Mo Changkong was incensed and asked darkly, “Yunu, where is this guy?”
His fist hardened and he wanted to beat him up, but he didn’t know how to drag the man out of the phone.
“Worry not, master, leave this to this one.” Jin Yunu reassured him, opened voice chat, pinched his throat, and let out a soft and sweet female voice. “Sorry, it’s my first time. Please lead me, gege.”
It was too pretty. Too deceptive.
A man killer….
Lu Yunzhen knew the truth and even then he almost knelt listening.
The other player had immediately softened up and started chatting up Jin Yunu, soon sending a friend request.
Jin Yunu clicked confirm and responded to Mo Changkong fawningly. “Fret not, master. This one guarantees an in person meeting within three days. Where do you want to make the move?”
Mo Changkong thought for a moment, “Find somewhere remote.”
Jin Yunu agreed. “This one will invite him to a hotel in the suburbs. After he enters you can dash in and deal with this blind fool and make him pay punitive damages.”
Mo Changkong replied, “Good. Lots.”
The two continued to discuss it happily.
Lu Yunzhen’s eyes had turned dark from listening. He dashed out with the spatula to immediately put a stop to the illegal acts. “You can’t do bad things!”
Mo Changkong was shocked. “This counts as a bad thing?”
Back in his era, there wasn’t much of a sense of the rule of law. The powerful ruled and things like murder and robberies were commonplace. Shizun had only taught him to not kill the innocent and not start fights. He was never taught to not fight back when he got bullied.
A gentleman can be killed but not be humiliated.
Mo Changkong held the phone and argued confidently. “This man had insulted Wujian peak! He’s detestable and deserves to be taught a lesson.”
Lu Yunzhen was at a loss.
If every piece of trash talk online escalated to an irl brawl they’d be in the middle of a world war by now.
Looks like the two needed remedial lessons in both a sense of justice and online common sense.
After listening to a long lecture from Shizun, Mo Changkong finally understood that the only response to being yelled at online is to yell back, not to move his fists. He had no talent whatsoever for arguing and felt immensely pent up; in the end he decided that he was going to get a demon who’s good at arguing to cuss people out for him.
If one demon wasn’t enough he’d just get two. If they couldn’t win the argument then he’ll just get Jin Yunu to honey trap them of their location and get the demon to go argue in person. It’s not over til those bastards admit defeat! We’ll see who’s a noob kid then!
Mo Changkong promised, “I won’t fight.”
Jin Yunu answered obediently, “This one wouldn’t dare to fight.”
Lu Yunzhen breathed a sigh of relief seeing that everyone understood. He decided to set some sect rules for Wujian peak. Hanging up a small chalkboard on the wall, he sternly wrote:
Rule one: Running off to fight after losing an argument online is forbidden.
Rule two: Honey trapping is forbidden.
Rule three: Breaking the law is forbidden.
Rule four: To be decided.
Mo Changkong immediately launched into applause and praise for Shizun.
Lu Yunzhen appreciated the response but then noticed a burning smell. Realizing the veggies had burned, he dashed back hoping to save the duck. But as he was salvaging it he realized something was wrong.
Where did Mo Changkong get a new phone from?
Jin Yunu laughed, “It’s from Long Gongzi.”
He was flirting with Long Jingtian at the bar when the latter asked him for his contact info. When he said he didn’t have a phone Long Jingtian immediately bought him the newest model, and then wanted to follow up with clothes and jewelry to boot.
“Worry not, master, Long Gongzi is known for being a sucker.” explained Jin Yunu. “He spends money like water and casually gifts designer bags worth 5 figures. This one doesn’t like items made from skin and didn’t want them.”
Lu Yunzhen was stunned…
He finally realized that his fee might have been too low…
Jin Yunu also felt wronged when he heard that he was only worth 3000 yuan, complaining, “This one could seduce some random man off the street and get more than that…. Sect leader, Long Gongzi will give you as much money as you ask for…”
Lu Yunzhen was a little regretful, but it’s too late now.
Jin Yunu suggested, “If master is lacking in money, this one can go attend at a bar. Those men all have a lot of money, this one simply have to lift a finger.”
He had spent a lot of time as an actor before and was faced with many a young man who wanted to buy a smile. He was good at it and felt no shame at his talents.
Lu Yunzhen took a breath and turned down the lure of lucre, and chalked up the fourth sect rule: attending at bars is forbidden.
It’s too hard being the leader of Wujian peak…
Mo Changkong finally figured out the game mechanics. He ignored the fool who kept on trying to talk to Jin Yunu by muting the chat and had fun hanging out in bronze games. Soon after, the game server died.
He asked Shizun for help.
Lu Yunzhen responded that his powers were limited and he couldn’t save the server.
Hurry up and eat!
Lu Yunzhen had filled the table with dishes, with the majority of it being Mo Changkong’s beloved meat. Jin Yunu had also gained a temporary seat at the table by being obedient, vegetarian, and not eating much.
Mo Changkong handed the phone back to Jin Yunu and sat obediently.
Lu Yunzhen went out to the yard to grab some home brewed wine.
He had been interested in brewing since he was young and was talented at that. It was easily for him to make something tasty without much interest. Grandpa had always loved his wine, and when he passed…. He was still under age then and couldn’t drink. So the majority of the wine was placed as an offering in front of the grave. The only tub he kept was the one that Grandpa had disliked for being too bitter.
After he came of age, he tried it and realized it really was bitter. But after the bitterness passed there was a faintly sweet aftertaste which was quite unique. Most people wouldn’t like it, but… he always felt in his heart that this wine was patiently waiting for someone important.
Every time he had a friend or classmate over, he would have them try the wine.
But, no one liked it…
He wasn’t discouraged. He stubbornly waited, sure that the wine will finally find the person who would appreciate it.
Mo Changkong came.
Lu Yunzhen once again brought out his precious wine, filled three cups, and eagerly served it. “Please try it.”
Jin Yunu took half a sip and almost spat it out from the bitterness. He immediately put it down and focused on eating the dishes.
Mo Changkong took the cup hesitantly and had a taste, but he was stunned. There weren’t any magical herbs or flowers in it, but it was that same familiar flavour…
He’s not human and had some unique taste, so he never liked wine. But he always wanted to drink, so Shizun had spent many years to figure out this recipe. It was strong, bitter, with a sweet after taste. Everyone hated it, but he loved it…
Why didn’t he realize it before?
Food, drinks, clothes, flowers, scenery…
Shizun would secretly change most of the dishes at the peak to suit his tastes. Many things will slowly be the way that he liked, but he never noticed. He treated it as a matter of course and only threw a fuss wanting more and more, until Shizun had nowhere left to go.
He never expected that after so many reincarnations that Shizun would remember what he liked, that he would keep around the wine that no one else would drink, just waiting for him to return.
Mo Changkong was filled with regret.
Lu Yunzhen saw that his expression was saddened and said with some embarrassment, “The wine tastes pretty bitter at first. If you don’t like it then don’t force yourself, it’s fine.”
“I love it.” Mo Changkong held his hand that reached out to retrieve the wind. He gently continued, “I really love it…Everyone said, this wine was like me, that no one would like it, that it tastes terrible.”
He was born a bad seed, with a bad personality, he was looked down on everywhere he went.
Only Shizun believed that he was good…
And only Shizun would drink the bitter wine with him.
Lu Yunzhen smiled, “This wine doesn’t taste terrible. You just have to drink a few more cups to taste the sweetness. And once you taste it you won’t be able to put it down.”
But, the wine was too bitter and too strong, it was hard for some to get to that point.
Lu Yunzhen smiled, “I also gave it a name.”
Mo Changkong replied gently, “En, it’s named Yixing.”
Shizun had said that you could only experience its true flavour if you treated it single heartedly. (Tn: Yixing means one heart)
Lu Yunzhen was shocked, “How did you know?”
He thought the name was a little childish and had never told anyone.
“I guessed.” Mo Changkong smiled and held out his cup, “Shizun, could you drink with me?”
Lu Yunzhen was overjoyed. “Yes.”
The cups had crossed. What a night, to drink wine with one heart.
What place isn’t Wujian Peak?
…
The night deepened. Jin Yunu had went back to the doghouse to cultivate long ago.
Lu Yunzhen was still a student and wasn’t practiced at drinking. He hit his limit at 5 cups and was carried back to his bed in a daze. His bear was placed in his hands. He touched the little bear’s fluffy ears and immediately fell asleep.
Shizun had always loved drinking but wasn’t good at holding his liquor. He would often get drunk and fall asleep. No matter what was done to him he would never remember when he woke and was easy to bully.
Mo Changkong was also feeling the effect the liquor. He leaned at the side of the bed and couldn’t help but to touch the short scuff of Lu Yunzhen’s hair, then his faintly red cheeks. He then touched gently at soft lips with his fingertips, and touched once more…
He wants it so badly.
Every time Shizun was drunk he would steal many kisses.
It was so sweet.
At first, he would warn himself to only steal a little. But he never felt full no matter how much he ate, never satiated. His urges only grew and grew, his heart demons became deeper and deeper, and the acts he committed became more and more out of line.
Shizun was always afraid of those things, and even more afraid of him losing control in bed. It was painful every time they finished.
He knew he was a bastard, but he couldn’t control his ugly desires. The more Shizun asked him to stop, the more he could not. Desire, twisted, paranoid, violence, his methods became more and more crazed.
Until finally, things spun out of control…
Lu Yunzhen felt like there was something by his mouth in his dreams. It was cool and seemed tasty, so he gave a little lick.
Mo Changkong shot back his hand as if he was electricuted. His mind cleared and he realized that he was still thinking of foul things. He was overcome with a strong sense of built. He bent down in despair and groaned in pain while holding his head.
He can’t ask for it anymore.

I want to make a lore post about my second favorite twisted metal character because the brain worms have gripped my brain and he deserves just as much love as sweet tooth so here we go
Mr. Grimm is one of a handful of characters that has been featured in all of the twisted metal games , normally he is depicted as a grim reaper biker who’s wish from calypso is usually some variation of claiming souls whether it be Calypso‘s or random innocents with notable exceptions to this format being twisted metal 4 , black ,small brawl , head on , lost ,and 2012
Instead of wasting everyone’s time explaining his part in the first three games I am going to go in depth about the six times the format of his character differs
Twisted metal 4
gives us captain Grimm where his bike is replaced by a pirate ship car that shoots flaming canon balls and is over all weaker than his previous vehicles
His wish is now to duel sweet tooth in a sword fight
Tumblr media
Twisted metal black
In twisted metal black Mr.Grimm is seen as a patient of Blackfield asylum riding his co’s armored bike and wielding a scythe , having been drafted into the Vietnam war with his best friend Benny at age 18 . During his time in Vietnam he and a severely injured Benny got captured and shoved into a hole where they were starved by the Vietnamese advisor after Benny succumbed to his injuries Grimm was forced to eat him for survival . After he was done Grimm sewed Bennys skull together and made it into a helmet when he was rescued and the soldiers tried to take off the helmet he freaked out killing four of them before he was brought down and taken back to the states where he got sent to Blackfield
His wish is to take revenge on the advisor who killed his best friend in which calypso let’s Grimm indulge in his cannibalistic desires once again
(This game took place in sweet tooth’s mind so the characters are uncharacteristically dark and unhinged )
Tumblr media
Twisted metal small brawl
In small brawl mr.Grimm is a young kid who owns a toy motorcycle and is obsessed with Halloween
his special in the game are exploding Jack o lanterns
His wish from calypso is to go somewhere where it is Halloween every day
(Context for small brawl is that everyone are children in a neighborhood and the vehicles are all rc calypso is still magical for some reason ) (also The wiki which I am using for images does not have a full picture of the character selection screen so these two images are all I have right now)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Twisted metal head on
All I want to mention about twisted metal head on it is that instead of being a Grim Reaper entity Mr. Grimm is the Grim Reaper who has gotten a taste for human souls because he decided to start eating them and not delivering them so his wish from calypso is to find someone to replace him as the Grim Reaper so he can continue to consume souls
Both his specials are variations of the laughing souls one is just upgraded
Tumblr media
Twisted metal lost
In continuation from black His model changes slightly and he now dawns a leather vest with a skull back patch and he is now driving through mid town on the hunt for more human flesh to satisfy his cannibalistic desires and he now talks to the skull of his dead best friend and is starting to believe he might be the Grim reaper
Tumblr media
Twisted metal 2012
In twisted metal 2012 mr. Grimm is named Daniel Grimm and is the leader of a crime faction called the skulls . He blames his stunt man fathers death for his criminal ways and joins the tournament to prevent his father’s death his wish backfired horribly and when he gets sent back in time his father ends up thinking he was up to no good and wrecks the truck into two other vehicles trying to protect young Daniel and dying anyways leaving young Daniel holding his fathers gun and shooting his adult self
(This is the only picture the wiki had )
Tumblr media
Did I spend an hour and a half writing this little blurb at three in the morning yes yes I did I hope you enjoy it and if you want me to go in depth on any other twisted metal character I would be more than happy to do so because like I said I am severely hyper fixated on this Series I might do one of these posts just for twisted metal black because that’s where my main hyper fixation is and to be complete and totally fair twisted metal black has the most developed characters and story
(Here’s a bonus from the twisted metal show that I’m not gonna elaborate on because I don’t know which way they are taking his backstory to me it looks like design wise they are going the twisted metal one route but that’s just me )

AYSEL ESIN KARADEMIR / cis woman (she/her) thirty-six years old — october 27th, 1987 (scorpio sun ; virgo rising ; leo moon)
+ Adaptive, Resourceful, Ambitious - Stubborn, Proud, Private
Owner of Adult Avenue. Native to Magnolia Springs; has been back & living in Heritage Park since 2018.
tl;dr
Born and raised in Magnolia Springs, but left around 17 years old and came back 5 years ago. She got married to a rich old man who, after she poisoned him, left him a big fortune. Her father was a big name in the criminal world around Atlanta and Magnolia Springs, which made her name a very well-known one in town, so when he died, she came back to take care of his things and ended up staying. Although she wants nothing to do with the man's ties to the criminal world, she can't deny that the name sometimes gives her leverage in the same level that it puts her in danger around town. Loves annoying the old, prude women in town by showing off as much skin as possible during town events. Is actually a huge fan of anime and pop culture things and it's the proud momma of Emira, the American Pitbull.
Tumblr media
triggers for: violence, domestic abuse, psychological abuse & murder.
Aysel is the only child that came out of Halim and Leyla’s torrid relationship. Although both sides of her family had immigrated from Turkiye, the brunette was born in Magnolia Springs, GA. Growing up, there wasn’t much to be said about her family, except that she hated being part of it. First, all that her father had ever known was violence and in so many ways, it passed along to his family. Being part of the a motorcycle gang, when a war against their enemies up North broke in the outskirts of town, it brought many changes in the man, most of them not worthy of being praised. Halim was too explosive to handle his relationships with love and care. The way he acted around other women was like he didn’t have anyone to go home to, and Leyla was so trapped in this vicious cycle of infidelity, domestic violence, and hate that on the first chance she got, she left Magnolia Springs to never again be seen, thus leaving the three-year-old Aysel to be raised by the heavy hands of her father.
She spent most of her childhood and teenage years running around the clubhouse. Passed along from hand to hand of the women who wanted to be in touch with said gang, this was how life was for Aysel. Despite the members treating her with care and being more like fathers and mothers to her than her parents had ever been, the only time Aysel actually felt like she had a father was when, in his eyes, she’d done something wrong, but most times, she wished she didn’t have a parent. Her teenage years were even worse, especially after she started her sexual life. Her father grew more violent, and before she ended up becoming another number in these statistics she would see on tv or worse, innocent people like her high school boyfriend, just like her mother before her, Aysel also packed her bags and left town in the back of a motorcycle, with the promise she would never set foot in Georgia ever again.
Life away from Magnolia Springs didn’t mean it was an easy one. She struggled to get by without a high school diploma. Aysel moved from town to town, working small jobs and earning less than she was paying to survive. Eventually, she managed to get her GED and with that, slightly better jobs, but still not enough to call it a decent life she knew she deserved. Aysel wanted to go to college, to be anything and everything her parents never were, including one simple thing: happy. She wanted to love, to live, and to scream to the world that she was not a walking tragedy, in spite of what life had made her out to be. She was bigger than her past, better than her wounds, louder than the silence in her chest.
The change came in the form of someone her roommate at the time had introduced her to when Aysel was around twenty-one years old. An older man, divorced, with no apparent kids, who had more money than Aysel had ever seen in her life and, who had taken an interest in her after seeing her one night at the fancy bar she worked at. At first, things were good between them. Despite their almost thirty-year age difference, Aysel saw this as an easy way out of her life of misery. She would take his gifts, pretend to enjoy the time they spent together, and even, she made him believe that she was deeply in love with him. In return, he paid for her college. She ended up graduating in Marketing and was hopeful that the year following her graduation would also bring her a better life. She just wasn’t expecting it to be in the form of a marriage proposal during a surprise birthday party her so-called lover had thrown for her, in which they were surrounded by his friends, clients, and so on.
Although Aysel accepted right away because she didn’t want to publicly humiliate him, it took her a few days to decide whether this was the kind of loveless-but-comfortable life she wanted to live, or not. Eventually, her comfort and self-preservation ended up winning and two months later, the two tied the knot in a simple ceremony, surrounded by everything money could buy. However, getting married seemed to have flipped a switch in her husband, who became more possessive and rougher throughout the following months. Aysel was no longer allowed to do things she normally did or talk to people she regularly talked to.
It was like living in her parents’ marriage twenty-ish years later without having much recollection of it.
The fits of anger, however, were hard to forget. The make-up covering up wounds to go out of the house as a teenager, the readjustment of her hair so no one would notice in school… Once again, Aysel needed to get out. But being married to someone with as much money as her husband had, also meant she didn’t have many people to help her. She knew for a fact that couldn’t simply disappear, or he would go after her and things would end up much worse.
To this day, she still doesn’t know whether this was fate or pure luck that presented itself in the form of a heart attack, but as her husband was rushed to the hospital with her in the back of the ambulance with him, the gears in Aysel’s head started working in her favor. Being raised in the world of crime had taught her how to do her research diligently and to know how to leave no tracks behind. She remembered being taught how to fire a weapon by the guys at the clubhouse if she needed to. She remembered her adolescence being filled with ways to fend for herself, and yet, the simplest one seemed to come not from the brutality of the gang, but from one of the women who hung around her father: aconite. She remembered being told about the plant and what it could do to someone, in case she needed to handle her father properly.
A decision had been made. She bought a beautiful vase of aconite to welcome her husband home after being discharged from the hospital, and when he was cleared to go back to work, Aysel mixed a generous dosage of the flower into his morning coffee and hoped for the best. A few hours later, she received a call from the police saying her husband had been involved in a fatal accident. She mixed the rest of the aconite with water and poured it down the drain, then left home to play the grieving widow.
After her husband’s death had been ruled an accident due to his heart condition, Aysel’s life seemed to be fine again. The relief that exhaled from her lips when she hung up the phone was as if the weight of the world had been lifted from her shoulders. She split the inheritance money with the man’s ex-wife and remained in the city for a few more months before moving away again.
Aysel moved on. She started working again, started dating again, she worked out, she ate healthily… life was good. It became even better when, four years ago, she received a visit from someone she had never seen before. Someone who claimed to have known her father, and who gave her the news that would force her to break her promise and return to Magnolia Springs: her father had died. Halim died of natural causes, during the night, and he had been found by one of his lovers the following morning.
To set his things in order, Aysel traveled back to Magnolia Springs. She sold his old business property to a new owner, his old house, and everything that could tie her to this place. Her arrival wasn’t as quiet as she hoped it would be. Her father being who he was, it made people talk, especially around the shadier side of the Springs.  New faces either admired her growth or tried to get whichever information they could out of her, old faces however, were taken aback by her petulance of being back in town, and Magnolia Springs just… little by little, in the month that followed her arrival, made her feel like she could try and dip her feet back into these waters.
And so, she stayed.
She bought a property and renovated it into what is Adult Avenue, with its pretty walls and fancy shelves that catered not only the small town and its surroundings, but also, some Atlanta folks that were looking for a discreet place to shop. She bought herself a nice house Heritage Park to annoy a good chunk of Springs elite and installed a decent security system to feel safe. She fell in and out of love with a few decent people, adopted a dog, and managed to create a name for herself in town, despite the shadow that her father’s last name still cast on it. It was best to be known as a dead man’s daughter, who could both mean safety and harm, but that had more meaning in a town like this than to carry around a dead weight of a name.

#HARPERSMOVIECOLLECTION
2023
I re-watched Krull (1983)
As a kid, Krull was a wildly fantastic blend of space and fantasy. Apparently, watching as an adult, it's a predictable slog of a movie. Let's find out.
A prince on the planet Krull must rescue his bride to be from an evil being, and so leads a band of warriors on a treacherous journey.
Director Peter Yates has made some good movies. Most recently on this list I watched Bullit, which is a great movie and which Yates directed with true excellence. So, he's far from a bad director.
For Krull, Yates is working with a pretty huge budget. 50 million in 1983 works out to more than 150 million today. And, for the most part, Yates puts the money on screen. Lots of sets were built, lots of costumes were designed, lots of special effects were created, even if a tad underwhelming. If anything is certain, it's that Krull was meant to be a big entertaining movie and. It just a simple cash grab.
The Space Fantasy Genre is one which was huge at this time. The success of Star Wars had brought with it an endless stream of knockoffs, but also opened the door for truly original films in the Space-Fantasy genre, and other just Sci-Fi and just Fantasy films to be developed.
Krull takes the idea of the Space Fantasy very literally. As Star Wars took some things from medieval Fantasy stories, like princesses and old wizards and magic and such, and folded them into a science fiction film, Krull does not feel the need to fold things in. This movie is a fantasy film that looks as if it takes place in medieval times, but is in fact a science fiction film taking place on another planet. Kind of like Druidia in Spaceballs, but cooler looking.
This isn't a bad thing, and is in fact pretty interesting to watch. The style here is done well on all fronts. There's something in the world building that works, and it seems like it would be an interesting world to explore if any of it was deeper than surface level.
Im not sure Yates has a true vision here. The film plays more like he knew the basic structure to make a fantasy film, but lacked the passion to add anything to it. If you told me he directed this film on a bet to see if he could make a fantasy film for shits and giggles, I'd believe you. He does a great job with his shots, and has made a well put together film if viewed from afar. Busy sadly, when viewed close up it feels a bit soulless.
Writer Stanford Sherman is also to blame. He does not have a career of hits and I assume he isn't all that great a writer. His script isn't completely inept, but it lacks any real character development or imagination pertaining to the story.
Is Krull terrible?
There are certainly worse fantasy films out there. This one has its fun and creepy moments. It's age allows for some cheesy special effects to make you smile and laugh at times. It looks good and grand and definitely isn't an unbearable film to watch if you like older cheesy fantasy films. I'll take this over Hawk The Slayer or Beast Master.
The real failure is in how absolutely bland Krull is, because there's no good characters or story to latch on to.
When Ridley Scott made the film Legend, he told a very simple story with a similar plot to this. But, the difference was , Legend gave us the lore of the unicorns. That lore is then played upon by the need of the hero to impress a girl, the arrogance and innocence of that girl, which causes them both to play a part in the story. It also gave us avillain we were intrigued by, who had as much charisma as a huge devil-man can have.
Krull lacks all of that. We get an unknown, barely seen evil villain, basic characters who are carried by the story rather than doing the carrying, and the result is a movie which is hard to care about. There are cool moments and some good ideas, but this is an outline of a story or at most a first draft.

Honestly, I wish they explored Weiss' past with the White Fang more because the way she described them in V1 is so interesting to me. She says they "executed" board members and made family friends "disappear." It'd be so interesting to see how that effected Weiss as a child and how it shaped her view on Faunus. It could also lead to exploring Blake's time in the WF, outside of Adam, because as much as the show likes to pretend she didn't, she probably killed or led to the death of some people.
god fucking mood. organizations like this are not pretty, they’re not sweet & uwu please lets all get along. they enforce change through violence & while it was hinted with weiss’s words to blake in v1, it feels like they’re kind of afraid to acknowledge that the white fang was a terrorist organization. everything is neatly “justified” unless it’s tied to adam, but terrorist organizations don’t work that way. antisemitism ran rampant in the black panther party. the ira bombed motorways & killed innocent people, including children.
while weiss wasn’t valid in equating all faunus to the white fang or comparing them to trash, that was racist; she was valid in her hatred of the white fang. they actively contributed to her abusive childhood, they murdered people close to her. she was an innocent child much like blake & it kinda irks me that this is brushed under the rug. the issue is so much more complex than m&m&k could handle and it really shows.

the game 'my child lebensborn' is so sad ??? ppl who r calling it propaganda like ,, COMPELTELY misinterpreted the game lol. the game shows the lives of children born of german solders & norwegian mothers AFTER world war II (the children *canonically* do NOT know what nazis are) and how society treats and views these children , and takes out their anger and frustration on innocent kids instead of the adults and soilders involved in the war / that were in favor of nazi germany. it shows how both other children along with the adults belittle these children born of german soilders , how everyday they are forced to pay the consequences for something that they know nothing about. the game literally shows this needless and unnecessary cruelty towards these kids , showing how both the mothers & fathers families wanted nothing to do with the kid they brought into this world leaving them confused and becoming increasingly depressed as time goes in and school and social life conditions gradually become worse & worse throughout the game. I DEF RECCOMENDED PPL TO PLAY IT !! its such a good & insightful game

Looking for Home - META
Here it is, guys!
I actually come up with headcanons and make notes for all my stories, but I’ve only recently started to write them down in more detail.
Also, yes, I'm crazy enough that all character names have meanings. Even if I only mention this or that OC in passing, you better believe that I spent at least fifteen minutes deciding on a good name for them 🙈
Either way, this is the first time I’ve ever shared my notes with any audience and I hope you’ll like it 😊
Please bear in mind that everything under the cut can be considered a ❗spoiler❗, so if you haven’t read Looking for Home yet, I would highly recommend doing that before checking out the META.
I wouldn’t want to spoil the story for you 😅
WARNINGS: discussion of sex and mental health issues, implied/referenced self-harm, swearing, implied/referenced underage relationship (both parties are consenting and they are also considered adults in this universe)
-
Nakano: Meaning ‘warrior’. Madara was returning from a short mission when he heard something and decided to investigate. He found a cat, little more than a kitten really, holding onto a piece of drift wood in a particularly perilous section of the Naka River. She was bleeding, missing one ear and clearly terrified as she desperately fought for her life. He managed to save her and brought her home with him. The cat was a bit skittish at the beginning, but now she absolutely worships the ground Madara and Tobirama walk on. She really fucking hates everyone else though.
If you are interested in how she looks, imagine the below, but with one ear.
Tumblr media
Yes, that’s one very angry-looking maine coon 😂
Kameko: Meaning 'tortoise child'. Tortoises actually symbolise longevity in Japan (and most of East Asian, as far as I know) and Madara's grandmother is rather old by the standards of the era at sixty-something. I am pretty sure it is mentioned somewhere in canon that shinobi used to die like flies during the Warring States Period and not many of them made it past thirty. So yeah, pretty sure she is considered immortal at this point.
She is Tajima’s mother and she had to basically raise Madara and Izuna after their mom died when they were still young teens (it happened during the year following Madara’s meetings with Hashirama, so he was around fourteen). She took it very seriously and showered her grandsons with affection and love at every turn, which is the reason why both of them are somewhat well-adjusted despite growing up half-orphaned in a war-torn country.
Jin: Meaning ‘tender’. She’s Madara’s and Izuna’s only first cousin that’s still alive and also Kagami’s mom. She is a force of nature, this one. Everyone underestimates her, because she just seems so innocent and sweet, but if you get on her bad side, you better run. The mark of friendship with her is when she starts teasing and joking around. She definitely considers herself to be Tobirama’s buddy now.
Nobutama: From Nobu meaning ‘faith’ or ‘trust’ and adding the -tama/-rama suffix typical in male Senju names. Coming up with this name was hard, y’all.
He is an only child and was conceived very early on into Mito’s and Hashirama’s marriage. They were married very young too, around fifteen-sixteen, which I assume would have been considered normal at the time (it would have definitely been normal in feudal Japan). I mean, most of the ninja seemed to die around thirty, so they had to procreate sometime before that, you know?
He is a very kind, sweet kid, but a little bit on the dense side. Looks like Hashirama did at his age, but with Mito’s pretty red hair.
Hitomi: Meaning ‘pupil of the eye’/ ‘wisdom and intellect’ (depending on kanji). She’s the Uchiha clan healer and ophthalmologist, and Hikaku’s mother. Yes, I did name an eye doctor after a part of a literal eye and I’m very proud of myself.
I headcanon that the Uchiha specialize in treating eye conditions. There is no way they have been struggling with blindness and impaired vision for centuries and haven’t found a way to counteract them. It would make no sense.
Of course Madara noticed Tobirama squinting at things and how the man would develop these killer headaches if he read for too long quite early into their marriage. He knows what it looks like when people have poor vision, so he took Tobirama to see Hitomi at some point and that’s how our fave Senju ended up with glasses. And yes, Tobirama’s poor vision is the result of albinism. All hail the albino Tobirama headcanon, am I right?
Eichi: Meaning ‘wisdom’. Since the guy ends up insulting the entire female population of Konoha in one sentence, I don’t think we can attribute much wisdom to him though. Izuna had the right idea when he called this dude an idiot. It makes the name even funnier, in my opinion.
Masukagami: Meaning ‘The Clear Mirror’. It’s an actual historical tale, the last book in a four-part series, believed to have been compiled during the Northern and Southern Court period in Japan. Since Madara enjoys history and non-fiction in general, I thought it would make for a nice gift, especially if it was a fancier edition or something. I will include his reaction to receiving it in the sequel, don’t worry.
How Kamako-obaa found out about Tobirama’s abysmal eating habits: Madara did in fact snitch on Tobirama under the guise of his regular bitching about everything under the sun. That man is vicious AF when he tries to take care of his precious people and let’s face it: Tobirama in this verse needs a fucking minder to keep him functional. The reason he did it was of course to make sure his grandmother would be vigilant enough to notice if his idiot spouse reverted back to thinking paperwork and science were more important than basic bodily functions the moment Madara left the village. As evidenced in the story, he was right to do so and he has absolutely no regrets.
The lack of Hashirama in this story: A lot of madatobi stories feature Hashirama as the matchmaker figure or at least a driving force that pushes the main characters into realizing their feelings for each other in some way. Don’t get me wrong, I love these tropes! They’re great! However, I wanted to do something different. That’s why it’s Kameko-obaa, Jin, Mito, Touka, Izuna, and even Kagami a little tiny bit who are responsible for not-so-gently pushing Tobirama in the right direction.
My personal favourite is Mito’s quiet understanding and support. In a way, she has the most in common with Tobirama in this universe – they are both very private people, they value logic and are very intellectual, and had been married off for the sake of politics, just to name a few. I also feel like Tobirama would definitely see her as an older sister and would be more willing to come to her for help instead of asking Touka who, while well-meaning, is probably also not the most gentle or patient.
Madara being responsible for foreign affairs: I know, I know. Sounds crazy, right? Here me out, though! Madara has been shown to have an awful temper, yes, but we are also led to believe that most of it might have been Zetsu’s influence. Besides, I think he would have been very different at home or when he was working compared to his battle persona. Kinda hard to work when you’re pumped on adrenaline and borderline feral, you know? I also think it would be hilarious if the reason he was good at politics was that people were scared of him and he knew it and used it to his advantage. He wouldn’t even have to do much! Just be there and act all calm, but menacing at the same time, and people would proceed to lose their proverbial shit, because they are sure he is plotting their deaths or something like that if he has been too quiet for too long. The funniest thing is nobody realizes that this is going on and they are just all quietly impressed with his diplomatic skills. Madara doubtlessly finds it very amusing.
Madara and his teas: In my head Madara has a bit of a tea obsession (well, he has my own tea obsession, but amplified, but that’s neither here nor there). He has a collection of different tea leaves, dried fruits and herbs, etc. and he uses them to make his own blends. Sometimes they’re definitely a miss, but quite often he ends up with a very good and unique tea as a result. He also likes to spend some extra money on pre-made blends if they’re good quality and from a reliable supplier. Tobirama, as mentioned, really appreciates the tea, but his skills at making it are virtually nonexistent. He had been known to burn very expensive tea leaves by accident. That’s why Madara doesn’t trust him with the tea cupboard.
Also, the tea Madara prepares at the end is the blue pea tea. Look it up, that shit is fascinating!
Madara acting as a househusband: This is not necessarily because he is actually trying to fill that role consciously. In this universe, he definitely exhibits some obsessive-compulsive behaviours (e.g. cleaning the house until it’s spotless, keeping things in order and getting stressed if they’re not, being almost unreasonably snippy when someone moves things from their ‘rightful place’, etc.). Experiencing trauma can trigger things like that, although it is not the only reason why people clean, of course. He also suffers from depression to some extent, though I think this can be said about the majority of characters in Naruto.
Tobirama isn’t aware why Madara acts this way and doesn’t really understand it, but he accommodates him nevertheless.
Tobirama’s panic attack: As you might have noticed, there is something going on with Tobirama behind the scenes. I will explore it in more detail in the sequel, but this is basically a leftover from his less than ideal childhood (you can read more about my headcanon for this HERE) and a result of trauma. Also, depression and some form of an anxiety disorder, because these are always fun to experience 🤦‍♀️
He taught himself that pain could bring him out of an episode and that’s what he has been using for years to deal with them. It works, but it’s a form of self-harm and not a healthy tactic at all. He is very bad a recognizing and processing his own feelings as well. Like, really bad. Then once he gets on with the uptake, he blurts them out. That’s mostly why he panicked in this situation – he knew that now that the love for Madara was realized, he was at a risk of just saying it randomly and he was terrified of Madara’s reaction.
Madara’s and Tobirama’s marriage: Offering Tobirama as a spouse for Madara was supposed to be an insult. As mentioned in the story, the Senju Elders were convinced it would spark the conflict anew, because Tobirama is a man and wouldn’t be able to give Madara heirs. The joke’s on them though, because the Uchiha clan is chill as a cucumber about same-sex marriage and couldn’t really care less. They are maybe a little bit shocked and wary of Tobirama as the prospective bride, but they roll with it in the end. Madara is actually kind of happy about it. Yes, he doesn’t really like Tobirama and doesn’t really trust him all that much either, but at the same time he knows his gay ass could have ended up married to a woman, so, you know, all in all it’s not that bad of a deal. Plus, he has eyes and, if nothing else, Tobirama is at least very to look at 🤭
It goes without saying, I think, but just in case that wasn’t clear: there was no wedding night and the two of them have been sleeping in separate rooms for this entire time.
Tobirama’s and Madara’s sexuality: As mentioned above, I see Madara as being gay in this story and someone quite experienced and sure of his own sexuality as well. He was encouraged to be careful, but also explore his options and experiment, and that’s basically what he did.
Tobirama, on the other hand, has only kissed someone once out of curiosity (that it just so happened to be a boy isn’t really all that relevant). He wasn’t really interested in finding out more about sex afterwards, very much convinced it wasn’t really for him. I see him as someone on the ace spectrum here, probably demisexual, so yeah, friendship and an emotional connection overall would have made him attracted to Madara more than looks ever could. The fact that Madara is the type of stupid pretty that makes everyone notice his attractiveness almost immediately is its own thing.
Seals and fuinjutsu: I think that the application of sealing in Naruto wasn’t explored to its full potential. As a group of techniques it seems the most versatile of them all, to be honest. You can seal anything and make any number of things work through sealing. I mean, you can even seal jutsu! Come on, if that’s not the coolest thing, I don’t know what else is!
There are so many things you can use seals for and it’s really exciting to come up with some everyday non-military uses for them. My take on them may not be canon-compliant, but I don’t really care.
The heat-preserving seals are used mostly for food, but they can also be useful for keeping an optimal temperature of any number of things. They are not meant to be used on humans or any living organisms though, just inanimate objects and such, because they can interfere with the organism’s natural temperature and cause a heatstroke in humans.
The sealing embroidery is a specialty of Yuki no Kuni. In a lot of stories I’ve read, Konoha seems to come up with every new invention and I thought it would be nice to give other countries something of their own as well. It made sense why people from the Land of Snow would develop a way to keep themselves warm that didn’t involve donning on layers upon layers of clothing.
Also, chakra influencing one’s body temperature should have been noticed and documented by people who are primarily affected by it. Tobirama, who is from a clan of predominately Doton users, would likely have little contact with people who are as proficient with Suiton as he is and thus wouldn’t have been able to link his penchant for being cold with it.
Hanten jackets: These are great. If you can get your hands on one, please do. They are really warm and cosy, and most of them are made from cotton, so they are very breathable as well. They are considered casual clothing, unlike haori which is part of formal wear. The one Madara got for Tobirama was handmade and the stitching was done with silk chakra-infused thread. It is also reversible – one side is plain black with the Senju and Uchiha clan mons in red right under the collar and the other is the indigo blue waves with silver seals embroidery. This is kind of how I imagined it looks like:
Tumblr media
The houses in Konoha: Most of them are traditional Japanese-style buildings. I’m sorry, but my brain cannot process Founders Era characters using a stove and sleeping in regular beds at home if the story isn’t set in Modern AU, so here we are: irori, shoji screens, zabuton, and all that jazz.
Traditional Japanese houses are really well engineered though. They may seem old-timely and outdated, but they’re really not. I would highly recommend looking up some blueprints and generally any info about their construction you can find. They are great and very beautiful.
I also think that the architecture we are familiar with from the original series would have become more mainstream and popular around the time Hiruzen became the Hokage as more and more foreigners arrived and settled in Konoha, sort of mimicking the modernization of Japan in a way.

There is more, but I’ll make a separate post for it when I publish the sequel. I don’t want to spoil too much of the story before it’s even fully written 😉

So out of nowhere I was tagged and quoted by a SR shipper for a blog of mine posted in August of last year. Talk about throwback but, hey, gotta appreciate that level of snooping. 😉
Back in the day I actually used to encourage discourse amongst Inuyasha fans- both shippers and antis alike- but I've since realized that it's a lost cause. But for you, @feministmetalgreymon , I'll grant this exception. Just 'cause it's been a while so why the hell not. haha
I want to assure you, however, that nothing you say will ever convince me that Sesshomaru and Rin are meant to be together romantically or that the story intended it so. Nor will you find any validation here. You can ship them for all I care, but please for all that is good and holy while I have your attention try- I mean really try- to understand why it is so many of us Inuyasha fans are so against this pairing in the first place (newsflash: it's not about ship wars), and why we believe a romance between the two of them is completely and utterly out of character.
For those of you interested in reading this, the blog of mine in question that the above shipper mentions in their counter-argument is here for reference. It's titled "Jaken = Rin's Dad?" I'm going to try and keep this short, but I'm also making no such promises. After all, I'm not exactly known for my brevity. haha Now let's get crackin'!
Like you, feministmetalgreymon, did for your recent blog here where you took screenshots of mine to address certain parts, I will be doing the same and dissecting yours accordingly.

I worked with kids for many years as a teacher, and many people in my family have too or still do. Two of them happen to be just over 5 feet which is quite short for the average adult woman living here. I've also worked alongside many a women of short stature, and never did I hear any of them complaining of issues with their students having difficulty differentiating them from their own peers just because they were short as well. I'm sorry but that's just ridiculous. Kids are quite smart and pick up on a lot more than you seem to give them credit for. Height is not the only characteristic they look at to determine who's an adult and who's not, and it's foolish to suggest otherwise. So unless you're a babysitter who's still in their teens and/or who has very childlike features or behavior then I'm afraid what you're getting at is total hogwash. This is just another example of how you shippers offer nothing of real substance to your reasoning, it's only ever cherry-picking or strawmanning from you guys. Stop deflecting from the real issues please, because this certainly isn't one and only winds up being a complete waste of time for all parties involved.
[Snippet 2]
Tumblr media
Okay, calm down now. I wasn't insinuating that relationships between parents and children can't change over time in terms of how they get along. Of course that's possible, as all families experience their fair share of estrangement and abuse. What I was speaking about was in reference to the overall dynamic between the two. Because a bad mother or father can still be viewed as a parental figure to their child even if say they're not in said child's life anymore. Since Sesshomaru and Rin share a healthy bond- and just a friendly reminder that in my blog I even said that he doesn't have to necessarily be labeled her father but that a romantic relationship later would still be inappropriate- I didn't deem it necessary to address what you brought up. Plus, it kinda, umm, misses the point?? Please, let's stay on topic. And it's not captured in the screenshot, but stop acting like there isn't a small part of them that idolizes their parents at some point during childhood. Just like you mention later on how it's normal for kids to have innocent crushes on adults that they eventually grow out of? Well, guess what, the same concept applies here. Kids eventually learn that their parents are far from perfect and make mistakes too. Rin is so damn young in the OG series though that we never even get to see her reach that maturity level.
[Snippet 3]
Tumblr media
LOL! Alright, okay, so the "unbreakable bond" bit you're mentioning was actually me quoting you sessrinners. Did you not catch that? I literally spelled it out. *sigh* The whole point I was making is that shippers like yourself make hypocritical and contradictory statements all.the.goddamn.time. One moment you guys claim that Sesshomaru and Rin were essentially strangers and meant very little to each other, only to say in the same breath a few seconds later that they were destined to be together and their bond is like no other. I agree, their bond is special, but why must that mean they're going to fall in love?
That is the root of the matter here. Too many animes/mangas have romanticized this older adult man & young girl growing up falling in love trope that it's become way too normalized and widely accepted across the world- and yes, in some cultures more than others. Sadly, you lack the awareness to recognize how this all works. You know how we know that? When we see that you shippers are so desensitized to sexualized images of girls in the media that you share posts like this one below which *subtly* imply a future romance although one half of that pairing is still just a child in the pic and then try and pass it off as cute. That's like super fucking problematic and it scares me that you can't see that (or deny you do). 🤢
Tumblr media
After all that's said and done, Sesshomaru leaving Rin in the village with Kaede is to me the strongest indicator more than pretty much anything else he's done for Rin that proves he is her adoptive father. It's so funny to me how you somehow see the exact opposite though. 🤔 What I think is happening is that you got yourself on some squeaky clean ass shipper goggles fresh out of your little echo chamber. Because I hate to tell you, but what you're fantasizing is what you want to see and not what's actually there on screen or was written into the story. I'm strictly talking about Inuyasha and the manga of course. [For the TL; DR version skip to the last paragraph.]
Parents looking after their kids is what parents are supposed to do. A good parent will do anything to keep their child safe and ensure they are cared for, so what he did for her by leaving her there was in her best interests clearly. Besides, as a babysitter, you more than most people should understand that parents aren't always able to be there for their kids so sometimes others gotta step in to help. Haven't you heard of the saying, "it takes a village to raise a child?" Which in Rin's case is literally true! 😂 Sometimes kids are even sent off to stay with grandparents and that's who raises them instead. Or maybe they have to temporarily live with an aunt or uncle because their single parent's job requires they work out of town 4-5 days of the week so they're hardly home. But that doesn't mean that the parents care or love their kids any less, and it's foolish to assume that Sesshomaru must have thought very little of Rin simply due to the fact that he made the decision to leave her in the village. Come on, y'all are acting like he abandoned her there!!
It's just given the circumstances Sesshomaru finally came to learn that Rin traveling with him was no longer safe. I also like to think it's because he wished for her to live a more normal life and to learn how to fully trust humans again. Plus, continuing to travel with him as young as she was would have proven dangerous and unwise. Now for you to know all this and still manage to turn his past actions towards her while she was just a child into a romantic gesture is what boggles my mind. Regardless of how you look at it, from my perspective or your own, Sesshomaru is in the wrong. Either he's a father figure who impregnates his daughter at the young age of approximately 14. OR he's this man she used to travel with who maybe isn't a father to her but who nonetheless basically rapes her since kids her age can't consent to sex with an adult. Idk about you but it sounds to me like nobody here wins with either scenario we're given. In other words, you should be just as mad as we are. If only one side didn't choose to forsake their morals they know we both have in common for the sake of a ship. Welp. 🤷‍♀️
Tumblr media
I agree, incest is disgusting but that's not the only problem we have with this pairing. A romantic bond forming between Sesshomaru and Rin would also constitute as grooming.
You realize that over the years he visited her in the village that he brought her gifts too and essentially watched her grow up right before his very eyes, right? I mean, I know you do, but I really shouldn't have to explain further why pursuing a romantic/sexual relationship with each other is plain and simple wrong. And before you say it's not because he didn't have any malintent, please understand that considering their history and power dynamic up to then that yes this is still considered grooming even if Rin supposedly "wanted it" or "made the first move." Whether you consider him her father or not, as the adult who took on a role resembling that of a caretaker in her early life- a critical developmental time for a child- Sesshomaru is obligated to turn down any advances by Rin and most definitely should not initiate any himself. As the first close adult figure she's had in her life since her parents died, it's unfathomable to imagine how Sesshomaru could go through with taking advantage of this young girl who was under his care and supervision since they met. To think he could be capable of betraying that trust sickens me to the core.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This. Now THIS is how a parent/guardian or a similar adult caretaker (babysitter, teacher, etc.) talks to a child. And, in turn, this is how some young children talk to adults. You'd be insane and delusional to deny it! We see it in our everyday lives, do we not? From where else do you think our stories draw most of their inspiration? Yes, obviously these fictional universes have aspects of fantasy that don't exist in the real world, but so how then do you suppose we're able to relate to them? The reason for that being is because these stories are written by people for people, so naturally there are going to be real life aspects embedded throughout. Sure, a little escapism doesn't hurt as we don't need to take everything so seriously, but ultimately we all need to recognize that the messages in the stories we tell matter. Most stories possess a combination of both light and dark themes, but when it specifically comes to the latter we gotta be careful with how we tackle this in children's media since kids are far more impressionable.
So if at the center of a story we have two of the main protagonists whose mom is basically their same age and to top it off she knew their dad when she was just a girl and who just so happened to help raise her, wouldn't you say that's beyond fucked up or at the very least so fucking weird? Like why would we think it's even remotely okay for our children to watch this garbage?? Really think about it. Try and be objective for once and think about how it would sound explaining this storyline to an outsider who's never watched IY or HNY. Well, antis have tried this before many times and we always get the same reaction: Ewww!
Like I said earlier, if you wanna ship it then fine, but 1) please stop seeking our approval or trying to change our minds - your ship wish came true didn't it, so why do you need us to validate it? 2) even though it's not canon, respect that we don't support this sequel portraying pedophilia in a positive light. It's harmful af to not only allow but glorify the continuation of sexualized images of young girls everywhere. And I shouldn't have to say this, but just because this trope is popular as you say does not make it right. Lolicon themes in the media have been an issue forever and it needs to stop. Yes, even some people in Japan or "the East" would agree. Shocker!
We're pissed off and rightfully so because Yashahime's TV rating is 14, not to mention it airs at the prime time kids in Japan watch TV after getting home from school. That's Towa and Setsuna's age, true, but if Rin being the mom when she's like only a year older than them (please don't argue w/ me about the math- antis have so far been right every time with it) is straight-up disgusting and not something we should be supporting or endorsing. Rin's a whole ass child!! Please don't start with the "but times were different then so her having kids at 15 is acceptable" argument either, because we've already debunked that and every other single excuse you guys throw at us. Besides, how or why would you expect young viewers to know these historical "facts" anyway, especially if as you suggest fiction doesn't affect reality so what does it matter? Yet here we are, arguing over a fictional show in real life almost a year and a half into the "Sesshomaru fucks?" sequel being announced. My ass, your ass, hell all our asses fiction doesn't affect reality!
Look, I do apologize if the tone of this blog came off as snippy or condescending at times. I do not wish you any ill will, it's just I'm not really sure what you expected to get out of all this besides maybe getting on my nerves perhaps. haha A lot of you shippers have been desperately scrambling to interact with us, lurking in our tags, jumping onto our posts screaming canon and getting so defensive even though you sought us out first. We've been sticking to our tags, so how about you stay in your lane too. By the way since we're on the topic, have you seen Twitter or Reddit?! SR shippers there are the actual worst and many Inuyasha fans (not just antis) have complained of not feeling welcomed to engage in fandom spaces anymore. Shippers swarm them and scare them off simply because fans don't like your ship and refuse to accept it. It's pathetic, really. No one should ever be bullied or harassed just because they don't like something you might. We're all fans of Inuyasha, aren't we? So let's act like it. Yashahime on the other hand, you guys are welcome to that pungent heap of trash. Fans have a right to criticize it too, but if you like it then good for you, so keep on liking it and don't mind us.
Tumblr media
I'm almost done, but real quick back to Jaken! Let's not forget about how the official Yashahime website- which came out after my blog, mind you- described Jaken. This translation isn't the best one available but it's the only version a fellow anti friend could track down. They do recall a better one done by a native Japanese speaker who was also an anti, and that member confirmed that Jaken is indeed called Rin's babysitter. So you see, I was right in my interpretation. In the original post I did compare Jaken to a brother, but after talking to others (some comments can be found under said post) I did acknowledge that he's more of a reluctant babysitter who's not related. And if he's not at least a brother to Rin, then he's definitely not her father.
At the end of the day, the creator Rumiko Takahashi has the final word. Which is guess what? Hogosha. 💖 Probably should've just started out with that and saved us all the trouble, huh? Good day/night to you.
Papamaru bids you adieu now. 🤞

MCU Breakdown: Black Widow, Part 1
I can’t believe this is happening 😭
First of all, congratulations to all of you who’ve been here all these years. We got it. We begged for years, and it’s finally here.
For once I wasn't dreading revisiting this film to write down what I got from it. I felt more like I might not do it justice. This film is so special to me, but here it is, the MCU Breakdown of Black Widow, part 1 (of who knows how many).
I remember back when I started running this blog and talking about a hypothetical Black Widow movie that had never been announced, always "yeah, we would be happy to do it, maybe, someday in the future", and arguing that it would be important for women and girls, no matter its content. I'm so glad we got it like this. So, so glad.
The rest under the cut.
Tumblr media
Let's start with some technical details. The film has a lot of setups and callbacks, nothing is done in chance. For example, I love how the light, and the sounds we hear when we first, and last, see Natasha in the film, are the same. We greet her in bright -birds cheeping- morning light, while she's riding her bike home, to her family
Tumblr media
and we leave her in bright -birds cheeping- morning light, while she's riding her bike home, to her family (I'm using the term family very liberally here in reference to the Avengers for the sake of the movie, bear with me, you know how I feel about those dudes).
It's signifying new beginnings, each time, not endings. Notice how, what we see is natural light, which makes this scene pop out, and look more real because the light is coming from the sun, and isn’t artificially made on VFX software. You will notice the stark differences in colours and lighting when the emotions and the atmosphere change in this film, because there is a visual language being employed here, the director has a story to say, and she uses all the tools she has to tell it. The light is exactly the same in those 2 scenes, because Cate wants us to make that connection, even if we make it unconsciously.
Tumblr media
Natasha is placed in such a positive way, both at the start and the end of the film. There's this discussion about how "real" their little family was, but it was the characters that muddled up that image. The reality of their lives in Ohio is presented in a happy way, that had deep rivers under the surface, for sure. This wasn't accidental, for a lot of reasons.
Tumblr media
First of all, if you take it the literal way, they were spies, and had to present themselves as normal. If you take it the allegorical way, any girl could fall victim to trafficking, and if you take it the character way, both Scarlett and Cate wanted to showcase that Natasha is human. They also wanted to give her something that wasn't always dripping with pain and sadness. They were both parts of her life, yes, but there was also joy, and light, and once upon a time she had been a kid, playing with her sister.
Also, and this has been mentioned before but it bears repeating: I love the actress they chose for young Natasha, and I love how they presented her character. She's allowed to be a young teenage girl. She's not sexualised. She's at that gangly stage between childhood and adulthood, and there's nothing sexual about it, no provocative clothing, no excessive makeup. She's a kid.
Tumblr media
Plus, I know Cate said the actress already had her hair dyed blue and they just decided to let her have it, but I think it works well for Natasha's character. That small act of defiance, even that early on, against the system that wanted to break her. Also, the film gives us such great character moments, because they let the camera roll and don't rush through scenes, look at Natasha looking at Melina comforting Yelena. We can see the pain, the fear, where she knows that this isn't going to last, and wonders about what will become of them once their lives begin to unravel.
Tumblr media
We also get to see the joy on her face, the wonder of discovering the world, how often do you get to see Marvel characters do this, just live in the moment?
Tumblr media
Bioluminescence: the production and emission of light by a living organism. Or how Natasha is a bright light, that shines from within. Not my words, Cate Shortland's words. I felt it when I was watching this scene, but it was lovely to have it verified in one of her interviews. I wish I could meet her, and tell her that everything she wanted to put on screen came through, incandescent and crystal clear. Fireflies are a symbol for Natasha, as a bright light that shines from within, and never dies.
Tumblr media
Small details that I love, the magnet on the fridge: Don't forget, above a picture of Natasha. LIKE WE EVER COULD, CATE.
Tumblr media
We have another setup here, where the family gathers up to have dinner together. Even the sitting arrangement is the same as later on in the film.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notice also how both young, and adult version of Natasha, communicate so well with Melina, just with their eyes. It doesn't necessary show a deep history between them, but it does show a bone deep level of understanding. Not just of their current circumstance, but of their future, and of what it will do to them. Melina knows what's coming and she's says it "I'm sorry", but they're both resigned to their fate, Melina because she doesn't see a way out, and Natasha because, well, here she's a kid, and therefore is powerless.
Tumblr media
The dynamics between Yelena and Alexei is so different. Yelena is young and doesn't understand, so they're speaking about completely different things. "I don't have my shoes" is what she says, and it's heartbreaking in its innocence, as Alexei is loading his gun and reading himself for battle. We can still see that he's not indifferent to her, telling her she can have "fruit loops in the car". He's not a monster, he just doesn't have a choice (or at least, he thinks he doesn't).
Also, notice how the camera angles are employed here: Natasha and Melina look each other eye to eye, Yelena looks up to Alexei, Alexei looks down on her, there is an imbalance of power and understanding in the second set of images, and the camera tells us that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Melina doesn't let Natasha take the photo album. For one thing, it's certain that Natasha wouldn't be able to keep it. For another, Melina wanted the memories, and probably didn't want anyone else to realise/think that they cared about their little family unit.
Tumblr media
There's just a lot of thought that's been put in the details of the script, to show us their bond, their attempts to hide it, to show the characters' personality in everything around them (notice the plants that are ever present in Melina's home, in Ohio and later in Saint Petersburg). She might seem cold, she has been through a lot, but she cares. And that care has brought her pain. And we have to see that pain, because we get the quiet moments like this one, where she stands alone in an empty home knowing that part of her life is over, never to return.
Tumblr media
The mission, is the last thing Melina asks about. The last thing Alexei mentions, the last thing either of them cares about. First, she refused to accept that they had completed the mission and were now hunted, then she accepted it and they loaded their family in the car, and then she asked about the leaked files.
Tumblr media
Also, notice how that shot is framed. Both images silhouetted by the light because it’s the moment and the prop smack down in the middle of the frame that’s important, now what they’re going through, emotionally, they’re not themselves in that moment, they’re nameless, tools of the trade, expendable in front of that tiny floppy disk.
Tumblr media
Yelena is singing while the rest are plunging in despair, but still humour her and play her song.
Tumblr media
I found this shot a bit... Jarring. I get it that for American audiences this would show that they're actually leaving "home" behind, but for the rest of us... Eeeh, I'll give it a pass because it is an American production and this is just something to be expected. I mean, Yelena's song was American Pie. We get it, you still love America, just because you're making a film about Russian spies doesn't mean you're a commie Marvel, it's ok.
But in any case, the setup for the action scene here was excellent. Happy, familiar music playing, car is on the main road, car goes off the main road familiar music gets toned down and eventually completely lost in the darkness.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yelena knows what to do, we see it, so that we know that this 6 year old girl who holds her stuffed animal and walks barefoot has practiced for this moment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
By the way, Natasha did take another item with her along with the photobooth pictures (it also looks like a photo album with Disney princesses on it), it didn't survive the trip. We are informed of this for a very specific reason: Melina didn’t ask Natasha not to take the photo album out of malice, or just because she wanted to keep it for herself. She knew it wouldn’t survive the trip in Natasha’s hands. We also get a close shot of the image strip (and we get it again, during the credits), because it will be important, later on.
Tumblr media
Bet y'all also forgot you were watching a superhero movie until this happened? That wasn't accidental, they wanted us to see them as normal people, this is the moment when that ends.
Tumblr media
Natasha saved her family, even though she was a terrified kid.
Tumblr media
I know that they did the huge titles thing to connect this film to Civil War but... Listen, Civil War needed the huge titles because that script and the way that movie was directed was a complete disaster. We needed to know where the characters were each time with huge ass title because there was NO OTHER WAY TO TELL. Between complete lack of a timeline, and the fact that you couldn't even tell what time of the day it was due to the horrible lighting, you definitely couldn't tell what the location was because it was irrelevant to the plot like, 90% of the time. Not to mention the title cards in Civil War were usually followed by dimly lit grey corridors so, yeah, give us a title so we know at least where they are, generally.
This film. Didn't Need That. For the most part anyway, there are 2 locations where the titles worked. First one was Ohio, the other I'll reveal later.
But here. Guys, they're Russian spies escaping from the US on a small plane... Where else would they go if not to Cuba?!?! This is the Black Widow movie paying for the sins of Civil War, in a small way in this instance.
Tumblr media
Yelena tells Melina that pain only makes you stronger, Natasha cries, and they setup my heartbreak for later.
Tumblr media
Natasha protecting Yelena, terrified, and staring men down the barrel of her gun anyway. Such a badass and heartbreaking callback.
Tumblr media
Notice how this scene makes us look at how men view this. There's an allegory here as well, but I'll address what's actually happening in the film:
Dreykov notices Natasha's natural instinct to protect herself and her sister, and all he sees is something he can use. A tool for violence, instead of sex, in this case. But the implication is there. Not a person, or a terrified girl, just an object to be used by men.
So glad that piece of shit got blown up and never mentioned again. Any man looking for exposition on Dreykov to feel the "loss" when the villain is gone: Fuck you. Go get some therapy.
Tumblr media
Moving on from that piece of shit, difference between Melina and Alexei: Melina apologised. Alexei lied, but he also tried to give them hope. We can see the devastation, because the soldiers never thought of them as girls like he did, and didn't blink before drugging them and taking them away.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yet another setup, of Natasha and Yelena, drugged and powerless as they are taken away. Because it wasn't enough that they were kids, they took away all their choices, and rendered them unconscious.
Tumblr media
What can I possibly say about this credits scene.
It's very real, probably the realest minutes in the entire MCU, and it's merciless. They don't try to sugar-coat what's happening, and there are no jokes to diffuse the drama. These are girls being trafficked from all over the world. I don't know about you but I felt the switch from true parallel to real life traffic victims like this shot that looks like footage from Interpol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
to Red Room victims as being a clear shift, and I was actually grateful for it. Because here I could put my back against the fact that the red room wasn't real, otherwise I would have broken down before the credit sequence even ended.
It was a stroke of genius to create an introduction to this entire world like that. We rarely see credit sequences anymore and it's a shame, because when they're well done they tell stories in and of themselves, and this is one of the best I've seen.
Tumblr media
Even the villain is set up here. He's pointing at girls and saying "that one, and her", like he's picking pigs for slaughter. How much more setup than that do you need, to want to murder that man dead? Not any more, that was enough.
Tumblr media
Nobody speak to me I’m crying.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Subtle, but there. Trafficking (and traffickers) exists because it IS being tolerated by governments around the world.
Tumblr media
Unnecessary title aside, who else says Natasha looks at herself in the mirror hear and repeats "pain only makes you stronger", as she's being hunted away from yet another family.
Tumblr media
Then she's saying it again because it bears repeating and Natasha has been through A Lot these past few years. I love how unfiltered our first image of her is. After all she's been through, we basically see her stripped of all her tricks in a moment where she’s alone with herself and her thoughts(something we later learn she tries not to do much), and she's just a woman having a tiny breakdown in a semi-public bathroom. Again, human.
This is where I will leave you for this first part. Hey, I got through the intro, I count that as a win given just how long this breakdown has already been. If you’ve gotten this far, thank you for reading, come yell at me in my inbox whenever, see you for the next one xo

DANCING IN THE DARK // Light Yagami x Reader
word count : 4992 genre : fluff, crack summary : it’s your birthday, and the yagami siblings have prepared some tricks up their sleeve.
a/n : made this for my birthday last year because why shouldn’t i and honestly light is my comfort character. also i keep on saying this but the internet needs more light fluff fics :) and for anyone reading this on their birthday, may you have a wonderful day! <333
"Happy birthday [Y/N]! Thanks for inviting us!"
"Oh Sayu, behave yourself!" Sachiko scolded her daughter who was running in circles around you before hugging you. You shook your head, implying that it's alright. You were close with her anyway. "Happy birthday [Y/N]. We hope you'll like these small presents we got you."
"Thank you! But you shouldn't have.. Really." You blushed. They only clicked their tongues friskily. "Hah! Though that's nothing compared to what Light got you!"
"Oh, where are your parents dear?"
"They're in the kitchen preparing and.. stuffs. Come on in you two before it starts—" You barely even summoned the rain, but there it went, an immediate, hostile rain invaded the city just as you had expected. They quickly stepped inside and before closing the door, you checked it there was anyone—someone in particular— who'd come running to your doorstep. But there wasn't.
"Mr. Yagami's still at work?" Sachiko nodded. "He'd be here by dinner time. I told him to go straight here."
"I understand." You replied meekly and shifted your gaze to the window. "How about Light? Where is he? Is he coming?"
"Of course dear! Why even ask? That boy wouldn't miss it for the world. He should be here in some minutes. He said he was gonna pass somewhere before heading here."
Before you could reply, as if summoned at the mention of his name, came Light casually barging in the front door. You thought he looked more like a thief rather than a prince coming to see his damsel who's not really in distress.
A thief drenched in the rain, that is, holding a bouquet of roses and nicely wrapped boxes of different sizes. He sure got you a lot of presents.
"Light! What did I tell you about bringing a raincoat?" Sayu huffed.
"Haha I said I'd be quick though— and it's fine.. Hello there [Y/N]. Good evening." He ran to you, handing you the presents and bouquet before hugging you tightly, the rainwater on his clothes permeating on yours. Of course you couldn't properly hug him back since your hands were occupied. You merely gave his cheek a peck and he whispered, "Happy birthday [Y/N]," before pulling away with a grin.
"Thank you Light! Although I really appreciate your gifts, what I don't is this." You pointed to your clothes with your lips, looking at them. His grin widened. He anticipated this to happen. "You are soaking wet."
"Yeah. I'll go change clothes. Be right back!"
"It's raining cats and dogs! You're gonna get even more drenched!"
"I already am so that won't matter when I enter the house."
You watched the siblings continue to quarrel. You sighed fondly and handed Light an umbrella. "There ya go. Though you really should've brought an umbrella or raincoat first."
"I'm sorry then, Ma'am." He chuckled. "You should go and change too." And with that, he headed back to his house, three blocks away from yours. Sayu snorted. "I thought he was incapable of being a dummy. Guess that can't be helped."
"I heard that!"
You giggled and put down the presents before going upstairs to change clothes.
Surprisingly when you went down he was already there. Guess you took too long to change. He seemed to be having that kind of conversation with your father. On the other hand, your moms were talking and laughing to themselves. You had no plan of interrupting either of their conversations so you went to Sayu who was idly playing with her hair, sitting on the carpet. As expected, she was full of topics—mostly just about girly stuffs which you didn't really mind— especially her continuously fangirling to that TV actor, Hideki Ryuga. And, well, you actually were too. It wouldn't kill you to fangirl sometimes, right? It went on like that for about some minutes.
A hand being suddenly placed on your shoulder was enough to startle you. You turned around, gazing up to see Light whose brow was raised.
"Oi oi Sayu. Don't brainwash her into joining you and your addiction to that TV star."
"I'm not brainwashing her! I mean, who wouldn't fall for Hideki Ryuga? Right [Y/N]?" She squealed.
"Precisely!" You winked. Light heaved a sigh dramatically as he sat beside you. "Psh. I am more handsome than him, and [Y/N] can attest to that."
"Who says I can?"
"I— whatever. Can't believe you'd choose that actor over me." He huffed and looked at you with disdain.
"Of course I will! Any girl will dump her boyfriend for Ryuga—"
"Hmm. Are you really older now? Or just a thirteen-year-old trapped in that body?"
"Hey! What makes you say that?"
"Nevermind me. Go and join Sayu in her silly fangirling and keep your childish mode activated." He rolled his eyes and was about to stand up, but you clung to his arm and began to act like a cat by playfully rubbing your head against his cheek— which was odd to say the least. He gave you a dubious and irritated glance.
"Oh! Is my Light jelly? My my, you look like a girl on her period, which is kinda adorable."
"Cut it out! Do you mean to say, you on your period?"
You slapped his arm. "I don't act like that during my red days! I certainly don't!"
"Oh yeah because you act way worse than that."
"Augh. You're just jealous! Come onn saaay it! My babyboy is jelly~"
"Good Lord, would you mind cutting it out? If admitting it is gonna make you stop then yes, I am jealous."
He was internally dead. Seeing his reaction made you laugh maniacally (c̶o̶u̶g̶h̶s̶ ̶k̶i̶r̶a̶ ̶l̶a̶u̶g̶h̶), even getting your parents' attentions.
"Talk about being childish, hah! Babyboy got jealous over an actor~ Ah, you are so adorable that I might even squeeze you to death!"
"Shut up. You're no fun."
"Oh, but you're enjoying this, aren't you babyboy?"
"One more of that ridiculous nickname and I swear I'll kill you."
"BABYBOOOOY~~"
"Shut up, or I'll shut you up!"
"I dare you babyboy!"
He looked severely annoyed when he glared at you and leaned his face closer to yours. He looked like he was going to eat your face rather than kiss you, but then—
"EHEM!"
There went Sayu, whose presence was completely forgotten by the both of you.
"Oh. Would you mind leaving us alone? We need privacy. Kids aren't supposed to see what's next."
"No way! You're taking her all to yourself Light! That's no fair."
"Fair enough since I'm her boyfriend."
"And I'm her bestfriend?!?! You're just her boyfriend. Bestfriends come first before boyfriends!"
Sayu rebuked, clinging to your other arm and pulling you away from Light. He had no rebuttals and only clung to your other arm, keeping you away from Sayu who was also determined to get you away from him. You already knew where this was going.
'Good Lord' you mentally sighed. And yup, there they went, playing tug of war, with you as the rope.
"I came first, so get your ass away from us, Light!"
"You get your ass away from us!"
"No you!"
"HOW ABOUT YOU TWO STICK YOUR DAMN ASSES TOGETHER AND GET THEM AWAY FROM ME?? For the love of heaven, stop!"
"..Err...Sorry." The two Yagamis murmured and let go of you. You three soon heard a chuckle coming from behind. It was your mom.
"While you guys wait for the food, why don't you try out the karaoke? I'm sure you are great singers. Hmm my [Y/N] may be an exception though."
You whined at your mom's comment. You stood up and Light grabbed your arm before Sayu could, giving her a sharp glare. "She's gonna stay with me, got it?"
"Hmph. Fine then. Enjoy it while it lasts, big brother."
She pointed her fingers from her eyes to his before playfully winking at you. You grinned and shook your head as you made your way to the sofa. You had no idea that their exchanged glares had a double meaning to it.
After they finished picking song numbers and it was your turn, Light secretly handed Sayu two eggs, telling her to be careful in handling those.
Yup, he had five eggs—no not including his own and certainly NOT the number of his own—hidden inside his jacket's pockets the whole time.
You three had made it clear that you were the first one to sing even though you were all fully aware that you suck at that. They innocently looked at you when you glanced at them. You eventually entered the numbers and just as you were about to murder your first notes you heard a loud CRACK! You thought something fell somewhere in the kitchen, but then the second CRACK! came. It felt like something fell on top of your head. And you were right.
But you were already too late when you saw egg shells falling down your hair. And they weren't the only thing—
"What in the nine circles of hell is this?! Oi—" CRACK! CRACK! and CRACK!
The last one missed but by the time you were already a mixture of skin and eggs. The worst part was that one yolk was dripping on the right side of your face, and your mouth was opened due to shock at the same time so some of it got inside your mouth. You absolutely hated the smell and worse— you were sticky! You looked at the siblings who then burst out laughing. The adults were too.
"Now that's what I wanna have for breakfast." Light quipped.
"SHUDDAP! Were you guys all on this?!"
They didn't respond. You walked towards the siblings who were now slowly backing away. You scowled and raised your hands, about to touch them, but they scurried away, with Sayu using her brother as a shield.
"I am so gonna get you two! Sayu, why must you betray me?"
"It was Light's idea!"
"Hey no—" The three of you continuously ran in circles in the living room, with them (mostly just Sayu) screeching and frantically flailing every now and then the closer you got.
They were terrified of the egg monster that you were.
"Don't be mad [Y/N]. Did you know that eggs will do wonders for your hair? At least you don't need to go to the salon now."
"I know but it wasn't only my hair! I am so gonna get you, Light, you little ass!"
"Welp there you go [Y/N]! He's all yours!"
Sayu halted and tripped not only her brother but you too since you were accelerating too fast. Light fell on his chest, and you fell on his back, the gooey substance dropping to his jacket. And to make it worse, you nuzzled his hair with your yolk-covered one. He squirmed, panted, and whined ridiculously.
When he regained his strength he immediately wiggled you away from him. He stood up and removed his jacket, but the smell still lingered since his hair and nape were also covered with yolks and egg whites.
"This wasn't part of the plan.. Sayu..."
"Hehehe."
You dramatically threw your hands up and wheezed to get their attention.
"This is very unfair. I just changed clothes and now I definitely need to take a shower to get rid of this yucky smell."
"I may have to as well."
"Are you implying that we'll shower together?"
"Of course not! Unless you want to— but on second thought, no way! I'll go back home and return—"
"Nope, you're not going anywhere. I had it worse than you! You can easily wipe it away."
"But the smell—"
"You'll have to live with that until the party's over, mister."
You glared at him and walked upstairs to straight-up take a shower that took about thirty minutes. Even though you used as many shampoos as you could, there was still a slight smell left. You honestly weren't anticipating that.
As you languidly made your way downstairs you heard the clicking of metals, indicating that they had already started eating without you, the fucking birthday girl. Mr. Yagami had also arrived. Guess you really took too long and missed some tea— if there ever was.
Light glanced at you and gave a smile of mischief. You raised your middle finger but quickly hid it when your mom glanced your way.
No other choice but to sit beside your stinking boyfriend since it was the only vacant seat left. And you couldn't help but laugh when you saw the egg remains there.
"Let's properly start dinner then." Your dad announced. "Huh? I thought you guys had already started."
"We did. But it wasn't official. Of course we won't officially start without the birthday princess~"
"What difference does it make? And really, dad?"
After the prayer you eventually started eating. Just looking at the food already made you feel full and you were sure that you'd soon look like a pregnant woman after eating all those. Of course, there also had to be some entertainment otherwise it wouldn't be a normal dinner for you.
"Few visitors, huh?" Light elbowed you. "Obviously."
"Why didn't you invite the other neighbors?"
"Do I look like I'm close with those vivacious people?"
"Of course not." His grin somehow irritated you. He's doing this on purpose.
You puffed your cheeks. It was true though— you only had limited visitors this year, specifically the Yagami household. Let's just say that they're the only benevolent family in the neighborhood. You weren't really acquainted or interested in befriending your other neighbors and their kids since first of all, they're literally kids. And even though some of them were at the same age as you and Light, you couldn't really vibe with them. You had lots of friends though, but their houses were too far from yours. You could've had invited them too but it was raining cats and dogs. They might get stranded and you weren't really a fan of sleepovers. They did greet you via text earlier. Although, it was still rather saddening.
Both your parents shifted the topic to your university lives, the rankings and all that stuffs, including reminiscing old times, but they weren't comparing. It was all good to them.
"As expected! Your son is number one as always." Your mom smiled to Sachiko. Your dad then butted in, "Oho, I heard [Y/N] once swearing to beat him. Would you let that happen Light?"
"No way." He chuckled. You shook your head. "Watch me do it."
"I've been doing that for years."
"Tch. I was always first but then you stole the spotlight. Be thankful I don't hold a grudge on you." You jested. Him and your parents chuckled in unison.
"The spotlight isn't the only thing I stole from you though."
"Wow, you are capable of being cheesy too?" You coughed to apparently hide your smile and avoided your parents' sly looks. "Yes yes, you stole my heart too Mr. Know-It-All. You were supposed to be my rival but you cursed me."
"Did not. My charms were only being effective."
"Tsk."
"Wow, you two might be the smartest couple I've ever seen! But you know my teacher once told me if two smart people were to collide then it'd be chaotic." Sayu butted in.
"Why is that?"
"Because they'd keep on contradicting each other with their own beliefs and when they get into arguments it'd be super long but very logical. She also said it's not good because there's no contrast between them. They're already perfect and too much perfection isn't good."
They may be some truth to what she said. You and Light exchanged glances, mentally communicating.
"There's a bit of rivalry. Sometimes. And it's rather fun." He replied. You nodded in agreement. "Besides, we're not entirely perfect. Look at your brother, he's very meticulous in mapping out scenarios and good at speculating probabilities. He's the school prodigy. But that school prodigy has a secret. Wanna know what? He dances like a withered vegetable being shaken up in someone's hands." You, except for him, all giggled. But he had a comeback of course.
"I can dance, excuse me. Hiphop just isn't my style. And you know what? Not only does [Y/N] destroy a song's purity, she can never be a match for any sports for me."
You harshly stepped on his foot, earning a loud groan from him.
Dinner went smoothly. You felt like you didn't need to eat for at least three days, however there were still some desserts to eat. The conversation regarding each families' personal matters continued with you being quite invested in it. Then eventually, the 'most' awaited part arrived—they actually saved it for last—wherein they sang you a happy birthday as you made your wish. Who knows what it was? Only you know the answer to that. You blew your candle and they clapped happily. It made you feel like a kid but it was fun. And then you continued to eat. Cake, ice cream—and there were a lot more. For some reason you also requested a bag of potato chips.
And you already felt bad for the horrors your toilet was about to see.
It was the karaoke's time to steal the spotlight, again. You only watched them sing, although a bit out of tune they were clearer better than you completely murdering those notes. You tried ushering Light to sing but he irritatedly responded a no to you for the nth time. There were only two times you heard his singing voice— and damn, he really is a talented man. But it wasn't exactly his main forte so he refused to do it again.
"Let's get drunk too!" You jested, looking at your parents who were now acting like drunk and cheesy teenagers. Welp they had some drinks.
"[Y/N], you know I don't drink." Light shook his head and sighed, sensing an incoming annoyance at the way you were acting.
"Oh? If that's the case then mind you explaining to me why you're still alive because-not-drinking-would-lead-to-dehydration-which-apparently-leads-to-your-death-if-not—"
"You know that's not what—"
"Let's get high on caffeeeeeine insteaaad!! One cup of bullshit and the other crappuccino!"
Your parents glared at you. Your boyfriend was beginning to get highly concerned. "Why is she like this?"
"Perhaps too much coffee is really unhealthy, that's why, son."
"Whaddaya mean coffee? She didn't even drink any! All she drank was milk! Eight glasses every other day! Blame the milk!"
'What did I do to deserve this?'
He thought, and there you went again with your maniacal laughter. If Light and you hadn't known each other he'd definitely think you're a complete psychopath.
"Oh dear! Did I just say that? God, why did I do that? Liiiiiight..." You shook him. "If I ever start acting like that again please stop me."
"You are acting lke that right now. That's not cute. You're not even drunk."
"Quit being a killjoy, I'm enjoying my 'drunk' state. This is an experiment."
"What the hell? You are sober yet you're doing things worse than people who aren't do."
"But it's honestly fun."
"I can't blame you for being so irritatingly childish since it's your birthday, but it's time to stop that. Stop it. Get some help."
"Stop me then. You're the good guy here."
"How can I stop someone so crazy?"
"They say a kiss on the forehead can stop someone doing crazy stuffs.."
"You're only making that up."
"So what if I am? I speak facts. So, go on, please."
He pressed his lips together and thought about it. It was barely visible but you were sure that he's blushing.
"HAHAHAHA! I forgot my babyboy can't kiss without feeling so yucky about it."
"Hush."
"Psh, don't bite on me mate! I'll do the honor then." You were already kissing his forehead the moment he thought about running away. You weren't able to hold back a smirk as you did. He was grimacing the whole time, but he was actually enjoying it. But of course, he'd never let it show.
To 'annoy' him more, you butterfly pecked your way to the tip of his nose. You pulled back at least an inch or two from his face. And to your surprise, he pecked your lips.
It was so light that you thought it felt like hair on your skin. Thankfully your parents and Sayu—or maybe not Sayu—were too busy to give a damn about it.
You wordlessly sank back, face the reddest it could ever get.
"You stay still now."
"Heh... How about one mor—"
"Absolutely not. That's a kiss worth for three months. We had a deal back then, didn't we?"
"I'm starting to regret that deal."
"It was your idea."
"Let's disregard that deal."
"Nope. I gave my word. You did too."
"Oh come on!"
"'Kissing is a waste of time,' you say."
"I take it back!"
"You don't." He chuckled. You elbowed him and groaned.
You then were idly eating more of the chips as you watched your parents dance shamelessly. They began to coax you and Light to do the same because it was your special day after all. You and Light had different opinions about it. And, he was in.
"Why not? Afraid of your true skills being exposed?"
"Why should I be afraid to expose talent? Heck it's just not my liking. Besides, didn't we already dance?"
"Yeah but that was last year on your 18th birthday. You danced with other guys too. So maybe, maybe— just maybe, I only want to solo you right now."
"Wha— pfahahahaha! Did you just say that? Say that again!"
"Ah? No. Nevermind. Forget it."
"Awe sorry. It's just rare to see that side of yours. Hmm, how can I refuse now?" You pressed your lips in order not to laugh at the way he looked, as if he was regretting everything he did in his life. You stood up and offered him your hand, in which he refused to accept since it was his job to do in the first place.
"Oh! But I don't wanna dance here. Let's go to my room. I have an idea." He merely nodded. "Mom, dad, we're just going to go upstairs! In case you'll wonder why we suddenly disappeared."
"Can I come with you? I don't really want to dance or sing with them." Sayu jumped at you. You shook your head and Light spoke on your behalf. "Kids aren't allowed. Let us have our privacy this time."
"—Sorry but he's right. I do have some games you can play for you to pass the time. Or books, over there if that piques your interest. Don't worry, we'll be back quick to make sure you won't be lonely."
"Alright! Thank you!"
"Ah but why not join us here?" Your mom frowned.
"We have some business to do in my room—" That came out vague, but it was too late. Your mildly drunk dad had already replied, "Don't forget the protection, okay?" Leaving you, Light, his parents, and your mom to have that 'What the fuck?' look on your faces.
You two raced to your room nonetheless, quickly locking it. He was surprised to see how much of a mess it was. Mostly just the bed and the heap of completely random things on top of your cabinet. If he's a neat genius, you're the untidy one.
"Do you ever seriously clean?"
"Why clean it when it'll just eventually turn into a mess again? I can work perfectly fine in this state."
He shook his head and picked up a pillow and the bedsheet lying on the floor, but you stopped him before he could lay his hands on your one-hell-of-a-mess bed.
If you two ever do get married someday, the marriage would certainly include a lot of chaotic things and arguments about the chaos you've bestowed upon your damned house.
"I didn't bring you here to be my personal cleaner. Stop that."
"I'm actually doing you a favor???"
"We have other business. Cleaning is uninteresting. As your girlfriend, it's my duty to stop you investing yourself in such a boring activity."
"You're not really much of a good influence, are you? Fine. But I'm gonna do it once we finish anyway."
You snorted and opened the curtains to add a slightly relaxing view to the scene.
The rain hadn't stopped, still hostile and loud. You were lucky your room had a nice view of the streetlight. Though it would've looked better at dusk— more romantic to a lovers' liking when they dance as the sun sets, coating the sky in a mixture of lively, serene colors, with the streetlight slowly coming to life and they wouldn't realize it because they're lost in their own world.
You smiled at the thought. You wanted to do that with Light even though you knew you would never say it out loud— or who knows?
While your boyfriend was looking at the window, you turned on your lamp and the purple LED lights you had hanging on the walls and turned off the ceiling light. The room was then turned to a dull purple one. But it looked better than before—if you were to ignore the tangled mess on your bed of course, in which case was thankfully barely visible now— and at least to set a specific mood.
"Outdoing ourselves, aren't we?"
"Yes, well.. doesn't it look more.. romantiiiiiic to you?"
"Maybe. All that's missing now is the music. And maybe roses too, hmm? But it's alright. I have the prettiest rose here already."
"Oh my God. Are you really Light Yagami, or just a spirit who had taken over?"
"Shut up. I thought the word romantic was never in your dictionary."
"Ah, but I have a lot of words in my dictionary, so you'll never know, my dear." You winked and took one rose out of the bouquet he had given you. You handed it to him. "There goes your rose."
He cringed, but he was smiling too. He tucked your hair behind your ears and placed the rose on top of it. Now all that was left to do was to play the music.
"Hey Light. We're gonna regret being this overly romantic one day, aren't we?"
"Probably. And all that cheesy stuff. But who knows? We may or may not end up like our parents and continue whatever this saga is."
"Yep. But I also think we'd regret it more if we don't grab the chance to do it."
"Well said, [Y/N]."
You grinned and went on to play the music on your vintage gramophone. Needless to say you were quite the quaint one. And Light knew well of this.
"Shall I have this dance, my lady?"
"Why, I thought you'd never ask."
You hid a smile as well as he. You loosely wrapped your arms around his neck. His hands were on your waist and you two slow danced, the rest of the world falling away. You thought whenever someone would say it, they're just exaggerating. But you were wrong. It really did feel like it that it might have been the closest to heaven you'd get.
Wise men say
Only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you...
His eyes were locked on yours. This time, he wasn't holding back anymore. He was feeling the moment just as you were. And who cares if your movements weren't completely in sync with the music that was barely audible due to the rain?
Shall I stay?
Would it be a sin?
If I can't help falling in love with you...
The smile you were hiding broke out when he pulled you closer. It was definitely a rare event so you had to savor it. Slow dancing in the dark, just like old lovers.
Like a river flows
Surely to the sea
Darling, so it goes
Some things are meant to be...
You might've had already ran out of steps halfway to the song. You two stood still, bodies pressed with you looking up at him. He rested his forehead against yours. Your faces were so close that you swore you could already feel his lips against yours.
Take my hand
Take my whole life too
For I can't help falling in love with you...
And at that moment you really felt that you wanted him to take your whole life. You couldn't dream a world without your Light anymore.
To your surprise, he cupped your face and kissed your forehead, his lips lingering there for a while as your bodies merely swayed to the rhythm of the song.
You love this man. He's not entirely perfect, but he's the best for you. He's your match. He's your lover. He's your rival. You were his, too.
"Psst, Light. I love you.." You whispered, pecking his cheek.
He stared at you with amusement, his adorable smile growing wider.
"I love you too."
"Even if you smell like shit right now..."
"You too. But did I complain?"
"Oh shush." You laughed. His arms tightly embraced you, and you rested your head on his shoulder, closing your eyes and smiling to yourself as you two continued to lightly sway your bodies. He as well closed his eyes, leaning his cheeks against your head.
He considered this moment to be one of the bests where he's genuinely happy.
And outside, unbeknownst to you, stood a lonesome fellow under the streetlamp, drenched in the rain, a wistful smile on their face as they looked up to witness a moment like that from you two, wishing that one day they'll get to do that with someone too.

Hi welcome back! Hope you’re doing well. Random question b4 my request, bc I want to give back as thanks for the great writing: are you a coffee, tea, or hot chocolate/cocoa drinker? I prefer hot chocolate and sweet tea.
How would the m9 respond to an SO/friend with a kid? Where the reader is a single parent with a child of at most 10 years old. Thanks :)

This took a while to write so sorry for that 😅. I'm so glad you like my writing! I love writing for you lot. I'm definitely a hot cocoa person. I hope this one turned out to your liking 😘.
----------
Caleb:
You never hid the fact you had a child from Caleb, if anything you’re proud of them. Though, you do know in certain company it’s better to keep that fact a secret for safety reasons. Caleb understands that fully he respects and admires you always put your child’s best interests first.
This is why when you began getting more involved with Caleb you kept your child out of it and took a good amount of time before introducing them to the wizard. You didn’t want to set expectations for both sides and wanted to protect and preserve them both should what you and Caleb had going not work out after all.
It’s no surprise Caleb is good with children. He takes a gentle approach when it comes to all things good in this world to the point of almost being afraid to ‘ruin it’. You assured him many times he was in the clear and how could his heart not warm at the curiosity and search for knowledge your child was already displaying.
With your permission Caleb began teaching your child some things here and there. The theoretics of magic and eventually simple spells. The smile it brought to their faces while they worked couldn’t make you happier. Caleb definitely earned your child’s approval to stick around.
Beau:
At first Beau is surprised. She knows children come from somewhere of course. She’s not stupid but actually tying a child to their parent let alone being very close to that parent is a whole new story. Especially learning you raised your child on your own and seeing you want to provide what’s best for them definitely earns you her respect, not having a parent with the same motivation herself and all.
The day of introductions came along and as expected Beau is the most awkward, trying not to be a terrible influence and be on her best behaviour, makes her very much on edge. An perceptive child picking up on this awkward behaviour calling her out leaving her cursing like a sailor, then apologising for said curses, even less of a surprise. You had to assure her many times it was fine.
Beau makes a promise that no matter what, she’ll make sure you’ll be returning to your child and make sure they get the love and support they deserve. Growing up without loving parents is one thing. Growing up an orphan another. She’d do everything in her power to keep you safe.
It may have began with joking comments such as ‘finish your homework’ to ‘do the dishes’ and ‘be nice to your parent while I’m gone’ but it didn’t take long before Beau was helping them with their homework or cleaning dishes after you cooked.
Absolutely treats your child as someone capable of making decisions of their own and speaking for themselves. No baby voices or cooing like too many adults tend to do even to a child regardless of their age. Your child has thoughts and opinions of their own and for the love of all that is sacred, can speak for themselves. You’re glad Beau treats them with a sense of maturity.
Fjord:
Fjord may have done what can only be referred to as a spit take the moment you said you had a child. Clearly didn’t expect it but giving him time to recover and process he’d ask all sorts of questions. What are they like? What do they like? And of course the dreaded question about your partner.
Supportive Fjord for the win. After finding out you’re on your own he’d always have your back, checking in with you and making sure you’re doing alright amidst the stress of the world and raising a child in the mix of it all. He’d open up to you about his past and being raised without any kind of proper parental figure. What he wouldn’t have done to have someone like you around when it counted for him.
Introducing them went rather smoothly. Fjord is surprisingly good with children. While some might find him intimidating, he nearly melted when your child embraced him as a thank you for looking out for you. Fjord was happy to answer any and all questions your child asked.
Whenever you’d be swept away for a while having to leave your child in the care of your trusted ones, Fjord would tell your child to ‘have the wheel, sailor’ which they would return with a salute before biding you both goodbye. Fjord slowly transcended into a bit of a father role and none of you minded in the least. You were happy.
Veth:
When she spoke of her boy she left behind you pitied her. A child shouldn’t be without their family. They deserved to be loved and sheltered from the darkness of the world until they are ready. When you told her you had one of your own Veth really felt safe to confide in you with her worries and troubles. You bonded over it really, drowning out all the sad stories and struggles with fond memories of both your families. Sadly for you, that would only extend to you and your child, the memories of their other parent perhaps somewhat painful to share.
You wondered what it would be like if your children ever got to meet in person. Then the day came. Nicodranas really had a way of bringing families together didn’t it? First time may have been a bit strange, your child being fully aware of Veth’s need for a disguise with her son, played their part well. Both you and Veth may have wiped away some tears when Luc claimed your child their big sibling from now on, and you his third parent.
Work and life are a difficult combination for Veth. She wants nothing more than to be with Yeza and take care of her boy but as long as the world’s in peril and her other family needs her just as much if not more, she’ll have to leave them behind. Knowing that you and your child are with her husband and son when she can’t be eases her mind a lot and she’s forever grateful.
It goes unsaid that Veth’s time away from children and in the presence of adults, specifically the Mighty Nein may have left her a bit out of the routines of raising a child as shown by giving Luc and your child fireworks, promising them to teach them how to shoot a crossbow and more. You did have to hold her back a little with the help of Yeza and keep things a bit more contained for their safety, but mostly yours.
Jester:
Of course upon learning you’re raising your child all by yourself Jester goes onto a rant about how her and her mom were always alone and how Marion used to read stories to her and do you read stories to your child and do you sing to them and draw with them and give them hugs and cuddles after nightmares and… You have no idea how that girl doesn’t run out of breath.
Jester couldn’t be anyone but herself when meeting your child asking about their interests, do they like to draw and sing and dance and… You ran out of breath just listening to her talk and your child replying in similar fashion. Everything went quite well and the two of them got along. Jester would be singing them songs and teaching them how to draw resulting in many dick drawings randomly appearing in your books, notes and other places, followed by mischievous giggles.
Having bought your child a lovely green cloak and letting them pretend they’re the Traveler here to spread mischief and fun and leave behind many phallic shaped objects drawn and carved wherever possible sent you all in laughing fits but you swore you heard a more masculine chuckle and saw a green cloak fade into the shadows. Odd.
What only can be summed up as the combination between big sibling, fun wine cupcake aunt and mom, remained a constant in your life and you couldn’t be more thankful to have that ray of sunshine be there for all of you.
Caduceus:
Caduceus is very calm and collected about learning you have a child. Less of a response than perhaps anyone else perviously unknowing. “That’s nice.” He’d nod. You’d almost start thinking he may have been able to read it off you for some reason. He confirmed he was, the tired eyes, and the recovery of exasperation at times but sense of accomplishment and reward was a look he had seen from his own mother many times.
“You’re weird.” A stare down ensued. “You’re weird too.” Eyes sharpened. “I like you.” The ice broke and smiles followed. For a moment you were afraid that maybe your child wouldn’t like the odd firbolg and thinking about how you would keep friends and family separate but a wave of relief went over you knowing that all was well between the two most valuable people in your life.
You’d be handed a fresh cup of tea by your child, a plate of snacks by Caduceus, all too innocent smiles on their faces but all it took was a raised eyebrow from you to have them come clean about the kitchen being covered in soil from the two of them potting new plants, turning your home and garden in what can only be described as a greenhouse and rather ask for forgiveness than permission. You weren’t mad of course, but did make them clean the mess they made.
You’re still unsure whether or not it was a good or bad idea introducing your child to the extended Clay family as you got some insight in the chaotic prank wars between the siblings and all together sibling rivalry among some of them. It’s all fun and games of course but some moments you were glad you weren’t the one pelted with mud pies by Calliope or pushed into the spring by Calliope herself. Instead you could just enjoy Clarabelle’s bug collection with your child while laughing at the other’s being covered in mud and soaked to the bone.
Yasha:
Poor Yasha doesn’t recall much of a family. In reality she never really felt like she had one until the circus, and after them the Nein. When she saw you and your child together, the unconditional love you had for each other, she felt like she finally realised what she had been missing, and something she perhaps would never have. She learned the value of such a relationship.
Yasha has no idea how to interact with children at any level and by default tends to treat them as either adults, or cute animals. No in between. It took her some time to get the hang of it but you couldn’t deny both you and your child rather enjoyed the unconventional relationship.
The wastes and hardships of Xhorhas may force a child to grow up quickly in the tribes but that doesn’t mean children outside of those regions have to learn how to wield a sword and what bugs you can and cannot eat or how to best skin an animal before eating it… It took some convincing why that was not a necessary skill to learn at the tender age of ten.
You compromised with Yasha on the fighting in the end, persuaded by the woman and your child to allow her to teach them some fighting basics because someone’ has to have your back when Yasha’s not there. You did manage to hold them off on purchasing a sword perhaps too large for your child despite the ‘they’ll grow into it’ reasoning and instead settled on training equipment instead.
Mollymauk:
Oh Mollymauk, nothing surprises this one. He felt rather sorry for you going through the struggles of raising a child alone. He may not remember his own family but he’s traveled far and wide enough to know the hardships. He knows poor Toya and he admires you for being able to do what so many can’t or won’t.
It goes unsaid that Molly is perhaps the worst of influences when it comes to people but you’ve seen him interact with Toya before and know well enough he’s a kind and caring soul who wants only the best for those who can’t just yet fend for themselves. It’s a good foundation that leads to a better person. He jokingly claims himself proof of that through the carnival and him ‘being an absolute asshole’.
Molly’s soft side really does come out whenever he’s around your child. He doesn’t deliberately censor himself but tries to contain certain words and avoid certain subjects that should never be discussed around your child knowing you’d appreciate it and if he does let something slip and your child ask questions he’d gently explain it as certain things should definitely not be described in gory detail to someone of their age.
This circus man is not afraid to put on a show in any circumstance and will happily do so to cheer you or your child up whenever you’re feeling a bit down or overworked. Whether he’s making a fool of himself, giving you bogus card readings, juggle his swords or tell the most ridiculous stories ever he’d do it without a second thought because it brings you and your child joy. You’re part of his family and he’d go to hell and back again for you.

Talks Machina Highlights - Critical Role C2E116-119 (Dec. 15, 2020)
Hi! I missed the first three minutes or so and opened the stream to Brian giving an absolutely incoherent ...ad? for some jewel game? Six thousand jewels just for logging in? Some app in the app store and he’s literally been talking about this now for six minutes and I don’t know what he’s talking about. He finally wraps up, Laura brings the show to a close, and we’re all a little worse than we were before.
Ashley tries to get us back on track and Henry bays over her. Brian tries to ask the first question and breaks off into feigned sobs halfway through. This is chaos incarnate.
Tonight’s guests: Laura Bailey & Ashley Johnson.
How’s Yasha feeling right now about Molly? She and Jester both are desperately curious about whether there’s a spark of Molly left in Lucien that can be brought back. It’s not the same as when Yasha was controlled by Obann; this seems more like just the way this is now. They’d settle for even finding the good in him, like they did with Essek. Brian jokes that they can monitor his mental state if Matt’s Irish accent starts to slip a little bit.
Jester is a little wary about scrying on Lucien now since he’s able to see her back.  She’s interested to try again now that Fjord’s given her the necklace.
Ashley has to run and grab a replacement set of headphones from Brian after hers get “crunchy.” It’s pretty cute seeing them run around and smooch on another screen. Brian teases that he doesn’t have any more questions for Jester since Caduceus has been doing all the healing lately. Laura tells us indignantly that she had Heal prepared for Caduceus in that last big fight, but Fjord got to Cad first. Brian explains how this is the same as all the good jokes he always lines up for Talks but never tells. Ashley’s crunchiness continues and we go briefly to a technical difficulties screen while Brian hops up to fix it.
Dani pips in to get this show back on track. Save us, Dani!
Ashley hadn’t thought about the aspect of Lucien controlling his friends’ minds, but finds it really creepy. It’s a cool game dynamic, and it’s a little different because they’re there willingly, but it’s really weird.
Jester thinks that “the tarot cards know all. She wants to buy into it real hard.” If it doesn’t make sense now, it will later. Laura has an Idiot’s Guide to Tarot Reading.
They’re super interested in why Aeor is like it is. Were they more advanced than us? Did they evolve along a different line? Ashley loves sci-fi and is all about this, especially since she wasn’t there for Happy Fun Ball time & hasn’t been able to get caught up on some of the things she missed in between, so she’s using this as an erstwhile replacement. She can already tell there are some things from this campaign that will bother her the way the unopened box did from C1. She and Laura both seethe at the camera about having to leave the spider behind.
Cosplay of the Week! Harland3r on instagram with a gorgeous winged Pike with a shield & mace. It’s an incredible photo and the wings look great.
Travis distracts Laura by dancing like a Trex offscreen. That seems right for this episode.
Jester’s encouragement of Yasha pursuing Beau was important in a lot of ways, not least because Ashley considered herself as uninterested in D&D romance as Travis & was a little unsure of activating a romance among her friends. However, it felt really natural within the game and it was really helpful to have Jester’s in-game encouragement. Yasha’s grown a lot and is in a much more positive place and is ready to find out what’s possible. Laura: “Jester from the get-go has seen Yasha as this wonderful soul from the beginning, and has seen how sad Yasha’s been through everything, and to see the difference that she exhibits when talking about Beau is drastic and wonderful. Jester’s joy in life is helping others find joy.”
Ashley points out it’s also so fun to “yes-and” with Laura because you’re like a little kid being dragged along by the hand - you don’t know where it’s going, but you know it’s going to be fun along the way.
Ashley does have a sense of “thank goodness Marisha isn’t jumping right into this” so she can coax herself into it, but when she tried to figure out the poem she had a lot of drafts that didn’t survive. She intentionally crafted the letter to give Beau an out if she didn’t feel the same way. There’s a lot going on with Lucien right now and there’s constantly a running thought in the back of her head about “maybe Beau is not into this.” Even the last couple episodes with Jester & Fjord have had Ashley finally understand shipping.
Brian brings us to the moment “almost as romantic as the pre-season finale of the Bachelorette.” Jester was “goo” afterwards. Early on in the campaign, Jester was very forward with her flirtations with Fjord & he shut her down. And then he kissed her underwater and immediately went and slept with Avantika, and Jester automatically shut herself down, because she thought she was misunderstanding & would only be hurt by those emotions. She deliberately focused on just being there with her friends, making everyone healthy and happy. These last few episodes where Fjord was flirting back felt like “my teenage heart again, my first kiss, the boy I like actually likes me back!” and she was able to open back up.
Yasha definitely has some instrument plans for those bones. She doesn’t know if she’s going to add to her harp or create a new one.
Ashley and Laura cheer about Travis stepping out his comfort zone. Laura thinks it was really good that he was doing it with her, his real-life wife, to see if he likes that sort of stuff in his D&D campaign. “It was just so sweet. It was just so sweet.” Brian says he’s actually a really romantic dude & Dani is so glad he asked before the kiss. Brian: “It’s going to be so sad when he breaks your heart and goes back to the corpse of Avantika.” Laura: “It’s fine, Jester will be long dead by then anyway.”
Jester does believe the four-year time trade was worth it, but that the city leaves “a mark on your brain,” especially as in-depth as she saw it. “Jester’s always been reticent to talk about her age because she’s aware she’s perceived in a juvenile way by a lot of people, and she’s insecure about that. She grew up by herself without a lot of social interactions and is experienced in a lot of ways now and naive in others; she’s very aware of human emotion around her, but chooses to see it in a certain way.” Losing the time makes her wonder if she needs to grow up & become an adult about certain things now. Laura: “I think actually she’s closer to Fjord’s age now. Actually, I’m not sure about his age. I don’t know how old he is - I’ve never even asked Travis!” Brian: “I think he’s definitely fifteen.” Laura: “Travis, how old is Fjord?” Travis, off-screen: “Sixty-five,” but he’s had the Mask of Many Faces up this whole time. Later, he adds that he’s in his early 30s.
Ashley has really enjoyed digging into Yasha’s more humorous side lately. It’s how she gets comfortable as a player, making it fun and light in a way that this year needs. “It’s also really funny to think that Yasha doesn’t know how Message works.”
Brian congratulates Laura & Ashley both on their game awards nominations. Brian vamps trying to get himself in as the presenter, but incidentally refers to Laura as his sister in the conversation and it’s super cute. “I would like to be the one to give the award to either my fiancee, or my sister!”
Fanart of the Week: @ethanmaldridge with an illustrated page from the Katzenprinz book. It’s just beautiful.
Jester’s polymorph gambit was terrifying, but the stakes got even higher when everyone else got stunned. She does lament choosing a bunny at the start. “Frickin’ Fjord’s armor!”
Yasha loves being polymorphed lately. She thinks it’s kinda funny, especially given her rigid upbringing with such defined roles.
Laura feels like Jester and Vex are weirdly two halves of herself. Brian: “You see the very bargainy, I’m gonna use my wit & smarts to negotiate situations. But at the same time, you’re very open to what people are thinking & feeling and navigating that. What you end up putting out (though it comes across as innocent and naive) is something pure because she truly believes it.” Laura thinks Yasha and Pike are the same way for Ashley, though Ashley feels a little closer to Yasha right now. Sometimes you just feel really exposed. Laura compares how much idealism she put into Jester to her character from Fruits Basket.
Since Yasha didn’t belong to either side in the war, she’s not hugely concerned by the fallout; she more wants to make sure her found family are okay and safe. Jester is the same way, Laura tells us. Jester doesn’t have any greater vision of the Empire & Dynasty interacting; she cares about the people, and it hasn’t been until the vision with the city that she kind of woke up and realized they have to really stop this now. It feels bigger than the Dynasty/Empire. Ashley: “It seems more of a thing for Beau and Caleb to care about.”
Really, up to now Jester was mostly concerned about getting Molly back, but now the stakes seem much higher. “We have to do this. We have to complete this, to beat them, to keep them from doing this.” Yasha is just going with the flow for now. There’s a lot coming at them and they are ready to find out what’s next.
And that’s that for tonight! Brian thanks the crew especially for working incredibly hard on switching everything to home-based streaming. He then gets stuck halfway spinning around in his chair and the last thing we hear is him idly wondering “What’s Fjord taste like?” which seems pretty on brand for tonight’s show. Is it Thursday yet?
