I have literally nobody to talk about this to so here we go. It’s kinda niche.
Sometimes characters give me the same vibe and then I imagine they are like the same person but in an another dimension or universe because they just give me the absolute same vibe.
For example this is one character in different dimensions to me:
- Astarion (Baldurs Gate 3)
- Keris Valiant (Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen)
- Charlie Milford (Lovelight Farms by BK Borison)
- Adrian Ivashkov (Vampire Academy/Bloodlines by Richelle Mead)
Please no spoilers for any of these things in the comments, this was just about vibes of a character (also I’m not caught up with them lol)

List of Books I actually like bc I’m negative on here a lot:
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
I adore this book. It’s my fav classic. If you haven’t read it and only know Frankenstein from the depictions of the green man stomping around and scaring the villagers, that never happens. Frankenstein is a heartbreaking story about looking for love and acceptance and not being able to find it. It’s also a story about neglect and discrimination. I cried many times, it shattered me.
The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen
I thought this wouldn’t be particularly special but I loved it. Lara was a great female lead with personality and motives. Aren is the most respectful and caring love interest I have ever read about in NA and any genre really. I found myself reacting like “noooo” at the ending. You just gotta read it.
The Marriage of Opposites by Alice Hoffman
Super different from everything I usually read. It’s magical realism. It’s about the mother of a famous painter from the 19th century and her life. It doesn’t sound particularly interesting but the way it is written is so lush and it made the environment so vivid that I felt like I was in a tropical place.
Animal Farm by George Orwell
I just loved it. Read it. It’s very short and very clever.
A Thousand Pieces of You (Firebird series)
Marguerite is hunting the person who killed her father and it’s across a multiverse. This was the first multiverse centred media I ever knew about. The ending made me cry as someone who lost their own dad. It’s very well written, the characters are all very fun and it has a very YA feel.

You really pointed Out everything but I honestly don't think a fix it fic is good enough to forget the HORRIBLE book. The Bridge Kingdom is AMAZING but the Second one is crap. ALL of it. This is NOT Aren. He woudnt use His WIFE and then call her a mistake. And this is one of 1000 dumb tnings in that book. I aporeciated your ending though and thank for it but I wished someone or you would write a small sum Up as a Second book. Like a whole different fic as how Things went after the Bridge Kingdom. Does one exist?:) Sorry I am Just too angry at the in my head non existend contiunation of my fave book
Hi! It took me a long time to get over that ending too. I like emotional plot lines where characters show a lot of growth over time.
My fix-it fic was just a small attempt to show the start of that. I hate writing plot exposition, which is why this is just two people having a conversation and intention setting. If you notice - most of the fics I write (which aren’t a lot) are usually people navigating tough feelings or exploring an idea.
I haven’t read a re-write of the ending, but I’m hopeful the third book (I haven’t read it yet) show Lara and Aren acting more as partners. I thought that Lara’s personal plot and her plot with her father and sisters are well fleshed out- I just wished Aren was better at expressing his feelings and standing up for his wife.

Since the moment I set eyes on you in Southwatch, there's been no one but you. Even if I'm a goddamned fool for it, there will never be anyone but you.

"The roar of the wind was deafening, the strength of it buffeting them from side to side, the sand scouring over her exposed flesh, her eyes pure agony as she gripped Aren’s hand, dragging him forward step by step. You can do this, she silently screamed at herself. You will survive this."
Endpaper illustration for Bragelonne's edition of The Traitor Queen by Danielle L. Jensen. I had a lot of fun painting this scene and rendering the sand and swirling clouds (:
