List of Books I actually like bc I’m negative on here a lot:
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
I adore this book. It’s my fav classic. If you haven’t read it and only know Frankenstein from the depictions of the green man stomping around and scaring the villagers, that never happens. Frankenstein is a heartbreaking story about looking for love and acceptance and not being able to find it. It’s also a story about neglect and discrimination. I cried many times, it shattered me.
The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen
I thought this wouldn’t be particularly special but I loved it. Lara was a great female lead with personality and motives. Aren is the most respectful and caring love interest I have ever read about in NA and any genre really. I found myself reacting like “noooo” at the ending. You just gotta read it.
The Marriage of Opposites by Alice Hoffman
Super different from everything I usually read. It’s magical realism. It’s about the mother of a famous painter from the 19th century and her life. It doesn’t sound particularly interesting but the way it is written is so lush and it made the environment so vivid that I felt like I was in a tropical place.
Animal Farm by George Orwell
I just loved it. Read it. It’s very short and very clever.
A Thousand Pieces of You (Firebird series)
Marguerite is hunting the person who killed her father and it’s across a multiverse. This was the first multiverse centred media I ever knew about. The ending made me cry as someone who lost their own dad. It’s very well written, the characters are all very fun and it has a very YA feel.

i am LOSING my gd mind with Shadow and Bone I swear.
Just watched an episode where the crows are poisoned and all of them dream about their trauma/worst fears except Show!Inej who's only personality trait is liking Kaz ig. And then Tolya finally remembers that Wylan is outside like, 6 hours after they've been poisoned, and calls out to him. Wylan finally realises something is wrong and goes over to the door and makes a little hole in it so Inej can be like "Wylan we're poisoned" and Wylan is like ohhhh there are like 6 rare butterflies outside here for some reason and it turns out they are the exact antidote you need to cure you from the poison! Like they're SO rare that I've never seen one before, but it turns out that the only antidote to the poison that all of you have been affected with is THESE butterflies and we happen to have the EXACT number of them for EACH of you to be cured!!
And they eat the butterflies. They eat some fucking butterflies and they are cured from the poison. That's the plot of the show that's based on my favourite book series, Six of Crows. That's what the writers thought was a SMART and interesting scene to have, and one they believed did justice to the book and the characters. I want to kill everyone at Netflix

My Ruin and Rising Book Thoughts. 🔥
Okay so at the very beginning of this book, I was still not really feeling Mal's character. I felt like he was being an asshole. But closer to the end of the book I was shipping Mal and Alina together. How this happened I don't know. I literally felt tears coming on in the ending (spoilers) because I really thought Alina had killed Mal. It was so tragic. I'm just glad that Mal didn't actually die. I know crazy right. In my past book reviews I was talking about how I wanted him to die and now at the end of this book I don't want him to die. I guess I can't make my mind up. Ruin and Rising was definitely my favorite book out of the three. My favorite character was most definitely Nikolai. I am in love with Nikolai and nobody can tell me different. Overall, I loved this book series. It made me feel all the emotions that I could possibly feel and I was always wondering what was going to happen next. The story was very unique and had some twists that I honestly didn't expect. I am excited to watch this story play out on the Netflix series too. Honestly I kind of wish that I had read this series before Six of Crows because the books do go in order however nothing was ever spoiled. Just in six of crows when we do meet Nikolai, Genya, and Zoya, as the reader you are already supposed to know who they are because of the shadow and bone books and I didn't lol because Six of Crows was the first set of books I read from the grishaverse. I loved this series and I have already started King of Scars and I have read 10 chapters so far. I am in love with that book too and I know it won't take me very long to finish it. The shadow and bone trilogy in my opinion was so good and I am extremely happy with how it ended.
