hey btw if you're in the USA at 2:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 4, they're testing the emergency broadcast system. your phone is probably going to make a really loud noise, even if it's on silent. there's a backup date on the 11th if they need to postpone it.
if you're not in a safe situation and have an extra phone, you should turn that phone completely off beforehand.
additionally, if you're like me, and are easily startled; i recommend treating it like a party. have a countdown or something. be surrounded by your loved ones. take the actions you personally need to take to make yourself safe.
i have already seen mockery towards any person who feels nervous about this. for the record, it completely, completely valid to have "emergency broadcast sounds" be an anxiety trigger. do not let other people make fun of you for that. emergency sounds are legitimately engineered to make us take action; those of us with high levels of anxiety and/or neurodivergence are already pre-disposed to have a Bad Time. sometimes it is best to acknowledge that the situation will be triggering for some, and to prepare for that; rather than just saying "well that's stupid, it's just a test."
"loud scary sound time" isn't like, my favorite thing, but we can at least try to prevent some additional anxiety by preparing for it. maybe get yourself a cake? noise cancelling headphones? the new hozier album? whatever helps. love u, hope you're okay. we are gonna ride it out together.

I think vox's range of tastes in men is so incredibly fucking funny. first on one end you have probably-sex-repulsed asexual alastor and then on the very other end you have literal overlord of pornography.

part of what made across the spiderverse so perfect was that it was largely centered on WHO spider-man is, in EVERY universe. not just Miles, or Peter, or Gwen, or Miguel. Spider-Man. it was about the ESSENCE of Spider-man. Spider-Man is love for humanity. Spider-Man is having to sacrifice and lose everything you love for the mask. Spider-Man is rebellion against the powers that be. Spider-Man is about trying to do both, in every universe. about not taking no for an answer or listening when everyone tells you your destiny. refusing to choose between the things and people you love. that’s why Spider-Man is so compelling: they want everything, even though everyone else tells them they can’t have it. that it’s not meant to be. and they just. keep. trying. keep getting back up. they just keep going, man.

Okay so there is a very real possibility that I am "technically" genderfluid judging from the posts I've read on here that are about being gay for both men and women or whatever the hell I was talking about in earlier posts, but also it's like that one tweet that goes "I'm probably nonbinary but I have a job so idrc about that rn". Or maybe I should just get over myself and accept that I'm probably bisexual

Knowing your chaotic dumbass friends so well that you feel confident in ordering a special vulture dimension set and custom graphic for an episode that has exactly zero to do with vultures is a love language unto itself.

Broke: Lizzie died first because the Canary Curse was transferred to her via Seablings. (Boring) (Cop Out) (Implies women cannot be cringefail enough on their own merit)
Woke: Lizzie spent the entire season being ignored and forgotten to the extent that the universe itself forgot about her and let her die before the canary simply because it didn’t care (tragic!) (interesting!) (makes me want to gnaw on the walls!)
