no thoughts head empty just, storyteller reader. they’re a bit of an odd character, always going around the server and asking about everyone’s day and wanting to learn all the minor details of what they did and writing it all down, which makes people very suspicious of reader when all they want to do is learn about different types of people to write stories. obviously doesn’t help since they haven’t told anyone of their secret passion.
so one day a group of people decide to follow reader throughout the day (they’re suspicious reader is spying for dream or something (i’m thinking maybe the group is the las nevadas crew but it’s your choice) (if it’s the las nevadas crew please add my boy slimecicle i miss him :( )) only to find reader walking around the server and handing out some stories they wrote. the group just sees reader going up to tubbo’s mansion in snowchester to give him stories to read to micheal, going to the arctic to give technoblade some revamped greek myths and stories of epic war heroes inspired by him, writing stories to comfort tommy (i imagine his guilty pleasure is children’s books because he never got to experience childhood and likes to babysit micheal so he can read children’s stories without being judged), etc etc.
my guilty pleasure do be characters being sus of reader and getting proved wrong huh-
yours truly,
gremlin anon
Storyteller
Characters: Quackity, Slimecicle, Fundy, Tommyinnit, Tubbo, Technoblade
Fic Type: longer form
Fandom: DSMP
“Are you really sure this is a good idea?” Fundy asked as he followed Charlie and Quackity out of the casino. Purpled and Sam had both said they wanted no part in this, so it was just the three of them. Charlie shrugged, looking towards Quackity.
“No. But they’re acting weird, don’t you think? They walk around asking people a bunch of random information about their days and then they write it down? That’s some sort of sketchy.” Quackity shook his head, continuing down towards the community house. Why there were heading there, no one knew, but you always tended to be around their, one way or another.
Eventually, the crew did see the person they were trying to find, and Quackity almost punched Charlie hard enough to send him back into the ground because he couldn’t shut up. You seemingly didn’t notice as you walked in the direction of Snowchester.
They followed you through the nether highway and hid once you stepped out outside of the mansion. Tubbo was waiting, holding Micheal in his arms.
Quackity was half hidden behind a tree, Fundy and Charlie down in a small valley behind him. He didn't seem to realize that they weren't paying attention to what was going on in front of them.
"Hello, Tubbo! And hello to you too, Micheal!" You smiled and waved as Tubbo put his son down, who then proceeded to run at you and attach himself to your leg. Tubbo shook his head, but his smile indicated that this was a normal thing.
"Here, I had a lot of fun writing these! Some of them are based off of what Tommy's told me about the rest of the server, and Ghostbur's antics from.... Before. I think he'll enjoy them!" He takes the leather bound book from your hands as his son detaches himself from your shin.
"Thank you. We'll see you later, c'mon Micheal." Tubbo leads his son away as you wave goodbye, and hop back into the nether portal.
"That... Was weird. What did they give him?" Quackity looks towards Fundy and Charlie, who were currently finishing off decorating a snow golem.
"Were you two not paying attention at all?" He asks, incredulously, and they both shrug, following you through the back of the nether portal.
"Ughhhhh, you two are the WORST spies ever to be on this server. Even Tommy was better than you guys!" Charlie just sticks his tongue out at Quackity. Little did they know, you were absolutely aware of them following you. They weren't exactly quiet, after all.
Quackity and Charlie bickered the entire way as they followed you in the direction of Techno's base. Fundy was the only one focused enough to wonder why you were heading towards the blood god?
"Guys... we're right near Techno's base. Maybe we shouldn't follow them through?" Fundy stood furthest from the glowing purple portal, the only real light near them. Quackity shook his head, stepping within the frame with Charlie.
"We need to find out what they're up to! C'mon, Fundy, hurry up!" And with that, the portal warped as Charlie and Quackity vanished. Fundy sighed, stepping within the frame as well.
"Is Tommy here, too?" You asked Techno as he stood in the snow in front of you. The Las Nevadas crew couldn't understand how you weren't even slightly intimidated by the piglin hybrid in front of you. You seemed perfectly at home, despite his history on the server.
"Yes, he made his house in my basement, remember?" As if the blond was summoned by sheer will, Tommy was at the door and smiling at you.
"Tommy! Here you go, it took a tiny bit, but I got a lot of inspiration from Niki and her house! There's one that's a tad bit personal to you, but the rest should be okay to read to Micheal, so you shouldn't need to worry!" You beamed at him, and he took the book with a smile, waving goodbye as he yelled his thanks, running back into the small house.
"And for you, Techno, a few reimagined pieces from Greek mythology, and some original ones too! I hope you like them, I've gotta head back though, I need inspiration somehow!" You waved goodbye to the blood god, and the Las Nevadas crew hurried back into the portal before being spotted.
"I knew you three were following me!" Your arms were crossed as you stepped out of the portal behind them, and Quackity turned to glare at you.
"We thought you were doing something wrong-" He started, and Charlie interrupted, peaking around Quackity to look at you.
"What were you doing, by the way?" You tilted your head slightly. They didn't know about your hobby?
"I'm a writer? I thought everyone here knew that. I get inspiration from other people, and a few even have me write a few stories for them regularly, like Tubbo." You explain, walking past them down towards the portal at Las Nevadas, figuring you might as well make sure they stop following you around.
"Oh... is that really what you do?" Quackity ran up beside you, with Fundy and Charlie tailing behind. You rolled your eyes at him, nodding slowly.
"Why would I even lie about it? It's common knowledge. Ask Techno, or Tommy, or Tubbo, or Sam and Purpled for that matter. they've known for awhile now, actually."
------------
"You knew and still let us follow them?!?!" Quackity yelled from across the casino, and he could hear Purpled laugh from somewhere as he hunted down Sam.
"I thought it would be easier to just let you find out yourself." Sam shrugged, completely ignoring the angry Quackity in front of him. "I mean, you were going to make a fool of yourself either way."
"YOU-"

Hello Tumblr
It's past one AM, and following the news of the allegations of grooming against Dream, and it has led me to a lot of big questions I don't know how to answer. Mostly, re-examining my relationship to one of my proudest achievements in the last few years (aside from yknow graduating college lol)-- that of Promised Land. Should writers of fanfic that involve personas of real people (not RPF, but the sorts of things that come with Minecraft role-playing where a CC plays a character based off of them) re-examine their works when the CC they write about does something reprehensible? This isn't just about Dream; it's about any creator that has done problematic things. Should writers look back on their work? How should they look back on it? I'm proud of Promised Land, and I have no intentions on deleting it. It's one of my favorite pieces of prose I've ever done. It's inspired other people writing, too; a joy I can't compare to any other. But I don't know if I'm happy, or content, I guess, with it being connected to Dream. I never watched Dream all that religiously. I watched POVs from the DSMP that didn't totally involve him; mostly SBI and Ranboo, in all honesty. PL!Dream was inspired by iterations done in SBI fanfics where he isn't the antagonist set out to destroy everything the main character (usually Tommy) loves. If it was a case with George/Sapnap, where they appear in only a few scenes, it would be fine, but Dream becomes a major supporting character. But if the allegations of grooming made against him turn out to be true, I guess I just need to ask, what should I do? I especially don't want my work to be connected to that sort of person. Do I edit it to be another character? Do I add in a note at the beginning, some sort of disclaimer, so new readers are aware that Promised Land was written "before we knew X was a POS"? Do I completely change every name in the story and try and sell it off as an original work? (/j) I'm not quite sure. This is a very first-world, chronically online problem, but unfortunately because I studied media theory in college this is starting to plague my brain and my only reaction is to immediately see what others within this circle of writers think. Sorry this post is so long. It's still late. Or early. Time is relative, after all.

This short scene was made for @mindle-ss-moths prompt. There is a lot more world building under the cut because I spent too much time thinking about the logistics of this and yet only making a small ass scene 💀
Tumblr media
“Do I shoot him Will, or do I aim for the skies?”
Tommy asked, his hands tentatively gripping three darts. Everything was weighing on him winning this. The chance to leave the toy box, to make a new home- L’Manburg. But winning meant hurting another toy, an act with great consequences if they ended up broken.
Wilbur paused for a moment, his expression unreadable from his chipped off paint. He responds after a few seconds, turning his head to the younger toy,
“Tommy I want you to do whatever your heart says.”
Tommy nodded in acknowledgment, but his hand shook unsteadily at the weight of those words. Their freedom lied on him.
Okay I would’ve tried to incorporate more of this but I’m actually not that good of a writer and trying to make scenes is hard for me so I will instead Infodump.
So the L’Manburg war is a war to go to unclaimed land instead of trying to claim land. There is no actual thought out reason to why Dream wants the toys to keep their civilization inside the toy house but I assume he was looking out for them so the kids don’t find out they are magic or smth I guess. Or maybe he wants to keep them all confined and easer to control. Whatever idc.
Dream is basically a fucked up toy. All of his hair was burned off and so his head is just a smooth circle that a kid painted white. I have 0 idea if Lalaloopsy dolls even have anything under their actual hair (I assume not) but for some reason this made more sense to me than just.. him being a bald doll painted over LMAO. It also adds to the creepy factor of him so I will keep it this way even if there is Lalaloopsy dolls.
Anyway so Wilbur and the Dream team + co are actually the oldest dolls there, Dream team + co being there slightly before will. This is very off from dsmp story but it makes more sense so i don’t care. Philza minecrfat is just a doll Wilbur talked to at the store he was in and he comes in later as a newly bought toy when Wilbur destroys L’Manburg (L’Manburg was like a play structure made out of legos n other random toy shit that Wilbur literally toppled down LMAO)
I don’t have actually a lot of lore because idk. This was shit I made up for 0 reason while I was trying to write this scene (I also was trying to write the actual death scene of tommy but like.. writing is so hard 😔)
Anyway basically I thought about the logistics of a knock off toy story dsmp way too much for no reason at all and I could do it more tbh. I’ve already decided that most of the ‘humanoid but not fully human’ characters are modified Lalaloopsy dolls like Dream but like I guess the kid got good at art so they aren’t horrifically burned and badly painted over like Dream was 💀

listen I dont follow the dsmp anymore and don't intend to get back into it but god that shit should have ended a long time ago. Not to say 'that shit' as in it's garbage, and not 'a long time ago' as in as soon as it started. I'm stating a neutral fact. This series, and I dont know when's the right time, should have been concluded a whiiiiiiile back. Please. Please dear god. From the standpoint of building a solid narrative, holy shit.
It happens pretty frequently in media that forcing something to continue for the sake of milking its content, no matter how much the fans want it, will kill the series, the franchise, the creative work, whatever the fuck said media is. Superfans will keep watching it for the title it has and the characters it manages to retain, but even they understand a lot of times that what they're watching isn't what it used to be. Whether that be because content has actually changed, or the production has simply gone on for too long or become lackluster.
Think The Adventure Zone: Balance. I'm NOT talking about the quality of one story versus another, but just how that quality was improved with how one handled its ending. Balance was and is a series people adored, characters people adored, a setting and story people adored. Sure, it had to take some time to pick up and fully realize what it was, but it created a narrative, and it ended definitely at episode 69 (nice). Afterwards, Balance continued, not in its main plot, but as fan content, as one-shots during live shows, as mentions from the creators, as a graphic novel series and a board game and a campaign setting and, possibly, maybe an animated series at one point. But all of these things are either an extension of Balance's true story or a transfer of its story into different media.
The show Centaurworld was so much fun and had so much color, but it had a story, and it ended, after only two seasons. The show Gravity Falls eventually got a solid grasp on where it was headed, fulfilled that path, then ended, after only two seasons (and Alex has told his fans not to worry about it being 'canceled' - because it never was.) The webcomic Snarlbear, however small of a piece of the internet it was, and however short it was in and of itself, was beautiful, and it had a story, and it ended.
Do that, please? This is mostly guided towards independent creators and storytellers, but popular media too. I won't touch on the MCU in fear of being grabbed by the throat and shook around, byt if you want to continue to 1) monetize or 2) give fans the official content that they love straight from the creators' hands, do so by continuation or replication in different forms AFTER the story has actually concluded.
I'd also like to add that a story that is short and neat does not equal a good, complete story. If your story takes more content to tell, takes more time or breaks for hiatuses in between, requires a couple of different attempts to get it just right, or if your story is -> NOT COMPLETE YET <-, you don't have to end it for the sake of simplicity! Don't cut yourself short! Complicated stories are worthwhile ones too! But there are some times where it's pretty damn obvious that something is being shredded to its last thread and unraveled and torn apart and perversed to such an extent that the new content is an obliged, forced, awkward attempt at bringing back the spark of what it used to be.
Your story doesn't have to be simpsons-long to please the crowd. I promise. You're doing yourself a disservice.
anyway kill dream or w/e is happening right now and cut this thing off god fuck. It's gonna slowly fizzle out and everyone who still enjoys the series will leave or drift away unsatisfied.

20 Questions For Fanfic Writers!
No way I got tagged by the really awesome @h4mm132l1c3, and ill tag a couple of other people too probably
1: How many works do you have on Ao3?
Currently I've got 59 things on AO3!! There are a couple more on my long-defunct wattpad though, and I've got a bunch of December whump I need to catch up on too so there will be more
2: What's your total Ao3 word count?
72,774!! Wow!!! And like...90% of that is oneshots! Go me!
3: What fandoms do you write for?
Currently writing for DSMP and QSMP the most atm :O I also write for the PJO fandom, Homestuck, and DR on occasion, too. I get very tempted to write for Stardew Valley and Scott Pilgrim, and I have been. More than tempted to write CareBears stuff too. I'm in deep chat
4: Top five fics by kudos?
(Un)Lifetime Achievement Award, Take Your Secret Son to Work Day, Las Nevadas and the Frozen Fox, Alone I Began, and Of Lost Gods!
5: Do you respond to comments? Why/Why not?
For the most part yeah! I don't get too too much interaction and I just get!! So excited when I get comments! I love seeing what people say and I love to respond! But sometimes I don't, often cause I don't know what to say lol
6: What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
hmmm,,,good question! Probably Why Do I Cry? or maybe Famous Last Words? Gone are the Joys I Knew? I don't really know! I write a lot of sort of mopey sad fics ig LMAO
7: What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
mmmmmmm,,,,not sure for this, either! My Fundy Fluff Week stuff is all supposed to be sorta fluffy which is probably happy
8: Do you get hate on fics?
Not hate, per say, but comments on the accuracy of my characters, which kinda stabbed my ego a bit lol. It was a nice comment! But the way it was worded was so ouchie!
9: Do you write smut?
I've. Been tempted. As of right now I haven't, though!
10: Do you write crossovers?
Another one of me being tempted!! I haven't yet but I LOOOOVE to read them and so I'd love to write one sometime. (We aren't counting my old VLD Steven Universe au.)
11: Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so! Fingers crossed it hasn't happened lol I doubt it would
12: Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope! But if someone were to want to, I would say go ahead! Just send it to me so I can see :D sounds so cool!
13: Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Very recently was my first time doing a proper co-write/collab, which I did with my lovely friend Seven! I would love to do more they're so fun (and probably one of the only ways I'll easily end up writing a multichap KEKW)
14: What's your all-time favorite ship?
ouuuuu ive got a lot of pairings I really really cherish. Jercy my beloved, uhhh Valgrace is so silly, I like to consider myself one of The Kamuegi writers ever, and Pumpkinduo kind of holds an insanely special place in my heart
15: What's the WIP you hope to finish but doubt you ever will?
(Un)Lifetime Achievement Award as sad as it sounds. I love it so much and I'm so insanely proud of it and I love the story but there's soooo much planned and the person I was planning it with hasn't spoken to me in a while. I have hope that I'll finish it someday! Or at least get another two chapters out!
16: What are your writing strengths?
Uhhhhhhh,,,,I don't. actually know! I do a lot of flowery sentences ig? and I think I'm pretty good at angst and similar things
17: What are your writing weaknesses?
Making (and completing) multichap fics, getting ideas to write, finding the motivation to write, and I am definitely bad at planning things out in advance
18: Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I've done it pretty sparingly in the past, because I want to incorporate other languages and loooove language, but don't know any of them very well aside from English. But I try to do a lot of research before I add something in, and am 100% open and insistent that someone correct me if I messed up, or if there's another way to go about saying what I'm trying to say, or just to tell me more!
19: First fandom you wrote for?
Never published because I was a kid and it was. So Bad but !!! It was actually for the Minecraft Roleplay series Mary and Dad's Minecraft Adventure (MADMA) back around 2011-2013. I've been in mcrp hell for. a LONG time jesus christ
20: Favorite fic you've ever written?
ohhhh good question. Fullbury Records is very special to me and I'm ALWAYS thinking of what to add to that series, and (Un)Lifetime Achievement Award ofc is also very special to me. I think Heart to Heart is going places once I get back to writing the next chapter, too But I'm also veeeerrry proud of Famous Last Words, and it's very special to me as a projection piece LMAO
Tag time!!
@dyke420-69 @sparrowsong07 and anyone else who sees this and wants to do it lolol be sure to tag me so I can see :D

IT’s THEM. THE BETCH. Ikari of the rp dm’s story! or the rpd!universe i guess cause thats what ive been tagging that stuff as lmao. On the left is thier “god” form and on the right is thier usual appearance. I do think that they would normally have black hair, but i wanted to make a large distinction for how i was drawing them so :D
this is mainly me trying to draw out an actual design for them so if it doesnt stick dont be surprosed but i am kinda satisfied with the results XD it was a bitch trying to look for actual quotes from the actual rp though, a lot of the situations they’re in dont exactly warrant some of these expressions.
//spoilers for some rp lore events below! idk why this matters i dont think im ever making like an offical comic for what happens but eh
Comments on lore references of drawings:
1; upper left: mentioned //and spoiled in another post that they would eventually be given the role of god.// the problem is when you’re forced into the role, in a world you consider not yours, unable to change it...and you now have to protect it. Because you live there now, and the people you care about live there now.
2; uppser right: they’re actually decently stacked in money. where’d they get it from? ask them yourself. (they steal shit. a lot of shit.)
3; lower left:  Appearance of a god form can be anything they want, but often representative or defaults to personal preference. But to be honest while doodling there was this design i thought was HELLA cool but i deleted it //sob// so i incorparated part of it here, which is thier “wings” (better demonstarted in the upper left). they’re wearing a shimmering cape that “bends” to form wings. I wanted to make it more indicative that they’re...”holier” ? whatever, that they’re now god or something, so i decided to add the things around thier wrist but it also doubles as them seeing thier role partly as imprisionment.
also, why the red eyes? i wanted something to make it pop out, and i wanted to make thier eyes a dark brown so it matched out. though, there is that whole background element of not exactly human so :D also, why are one of thier ears white in the god form? they’re not, actually. but i thought it would be too awkawrd to fill it all in as black, so i left it unfilled
4: lower right: i came up with the idea of a revival book wayyy before that plot came out on the dsmp, so don’t string me up for that. But yea, i figured i’d try and put SOME kind of design on it. I’m thinking that within lore of the rp, it could probably be used more than just revivals, but the characters pretty much only ever use it to revive people  :p To describe what’s on the cover, it’s a snake eating itself with a chaos mark in the background. oh yea. also YAYY I FINALLY MADE CHARCTER THAT HAS LIKE. EARS THAT ARE KINDA BLENDED IN WITH THIER HAIR OMG FINALLYYY. im so happy. also they are like. built like a twig they have no muscle whatsoever somebody feed them :(
other things on my mind abt them because i feel like it:
-Admittedly for how appalled they are at other people’s actions, a lot of what they do can be calling the kettle black, but oftentimes they are right that many people tend to get off scot free while they alone are punished (often unfairly in thier eyes)
-they dont take many things seriously and tend to miss out on....the tone of the sitaution, but this is often caused by them losing intrest in a situation, wanting to stay away from a situation, or being caught up in thier own turmoil/thoughts to display empathy or sympathy for others (...often due to thier friends or them being indirect or VERY direct victims of whatever is going on. often, but not always.)
-they enjoy making bar drinks and thinks being a bartender is cool. they have great difficulty memorizing recipies but they are trying thier best

Okay, okay, Undertale AU now.
So... I’ve been playing Undertale again... as I do once a year since it came out. It’s tradition. So I was kind of thinking who from the Dsmp whould fit which role... and yeah...
(I also wanted to add that none of the characters who are in a romantic relationship in the game are in this au. As a matter of fact, no romance in general here!)
First of all, we gotta give the role of Frisk to Ranboo, not because he played Undertale, but because of that one time that he told the story of how he flirted with his opponents in volleyball (was it volleyball? Maybe another sport. It’s irrelevant!) and that’s simply a very Frisk thing to do...
Then first monster we encounter is Flowey and... I mean... that’s c!Dream right there. All the focus on “fun” and “power” and seeing life as a “game” and the bloodlust... yeah, no that’s definitely Dream right there.
Then Toriel comes in! Yay! Puffy is Toriel, no doubt. Both of them have a focus on protecting the children and they’re both really kind, but can get hella scary when angry...
Also Niki is Napstablook ... mostly because she basically did end up haunting/being haunted by the Secret City for a while... also pretty sure both like music and are pretty soft spoken
Then we get the skeleton brothers! Well, Sans first... and who would fit Sans better then Wilbur! Both of their characters struggled heavily with mental health related problems and they are both really strong but somehow also weak at the same time... (strongest boss in the game with 1 hp and all that) not to mention that they both have way too many simps...
Also that means Tommy is Papyrus. I do not make the rules here. Hyper younger brother who is endlessly optimistic and soft hearted? Yep! That’s him!
Which, may have you think that Tubbo is Undyne because, you know, best friends, but no. Undyne is, in fact, Philza Minecraft everybody. They don’t call him Angel of Death for nothing, so he definitely gets to be the captain of the royal guard in this one! He’s just a much more laid back but equally deadly Undyne.
Also Techno gets the role of the socially anxious nerdy scientist, because he’s been ibernating under a pile of dogs for a few months now and also because he once got peer pressured into murder much like Alphys did into building a murderous robot... so yeah.
Also, to complete the ghost family now: Jack Manifold gets the role of Mad Dummy, cousin of Napstablook, because they’re both short, bald and full of spite
And none other then Eret gets the role of Mettaton (other cousin of Napstablook) because they’re both absolutely fabulous and because they’d rock the Mettaton EX form...
Moving on,Schlatt is Asgore. He and Puffy are brother and sister. Why? Because they are both sheeps and it would fit... though admittedly Schlatt has had less moral qualms with killing children then Asgore so far, they do both have that in common as well
Which brings us to Tubbo inevitably being Asriel, because sheep guy, but also because, as a character, he has a history of being pushed around by power hungry people with more charisma then him, and also because Asriel in his God of Hyperdeath form has a f*cking rainbow laser cannon and I think that’s a very Tubbo thing to have...
Quackity is Chara. Both are pretty vengful and power-hungry characters who are not afraid of doing some seriously f*cked up shit to get to their goals, but also they both care about those close to them deeply and have a sort of tragedy to their character
Also Awesamdude gets to be Gaster, and no it’s not only because there is as much Awesamdad fan content as there was Dadster despite neither of them ever being confirmed as canon, but because both characters are brilliant inventors who got screwed over by their own creation...
For some other fun bonuses I could think about:
Sapnap as Monster Kid just because of the absurdly chaotic personality
BBH gets to be Muffet, for no particular reason aside from general vibe
Foolish as Burgerpants because they’re both underpaid and extremely stressed
Punz as Grillby because: money and intimidating aura
Purpled as Nice Cream Guy because: money
And this is pretty much all I could think about... I would include others but I’m kind of stomped at the moment...
So here’s some revisited quotes instead (under the cut):
Flowey!Dream: “Howdy! it’s me Dream. Dream the Dreamon!”
Toriel!Puffy: “Did you want to hear about the book I’m reading? It’s called “72 ways to crack an Egg”. How about it?”
Papyrus!Tommy: “Ah yes, Music Disks, a great reference for theoretical battle scenarios and parties! To which I get invited just constantly!”
Papyrus!Tommy: “W-well, that’s not what I expected... but st- still! I believe in you prick! You can definitely do better! Even if you don’t think so! I... promise....”
Sans!Wilbur: “On days like this, kids like you... should be suffering in Limbo!”
Sans!Wilbur: “Just... don’t say I didn’t warn you. Well. I’m going to Punz’s. Tommy, do you want anything?”
Undyne!Phil: “...Forget it. Look mate. Tommy didn't come to his meeting today. Say what you want about him. He's loud, he's bit selfish, he's obsessed with disks... But Tommy has NEVER missed a meeting. (...) But now he's gone. And his brother isn't around, either. ... What did you do to him? What did you DO TO HIM? Tommy, who I have trained every day... Even though I KNOW he's too soft to ever hurt anyone. Tommy who is... was just a child... ... Go ahead. Prepare however you want. But when you step forward... I will KILL you”
Alphys!Techno: “A long time ago, I made a robot named Eret. Originally I built them to be a farmer robot for my potatoes... didn’t turn out quite right there. Anyway, recently I decided to make them more useful. Heh, you know, just some practical adjustments.... and I might have been carried away a bit and added some, um... Anti-human combat features?”
Asgore!Schlatt: “I'd like to ask, 'would you like a protein shake?' But... you know how it is”
Asriel!Tubbo: “I always was a pushover, wasn’t I, Quackity? I know... you’re not actually Quackity are you? Quackity’s been gone for a long time. Um... what... what is your name? Ranboo? That’s... a weird name bossman...”
Chara!Quackity: “Hey man. I am Quackity. Thank you man. Your power brought me back from Limbo. My "human soul"... my "determination"... they were not mine, but YOURS. At first, I was so confused. Our plan had failed, hadn't it? Why was I brought back to life? ...You. With your “guidance” I realized the purpose of my reincarnation: POWER”

Hello, Cloud Anon here, I have a new au idea and I'm going to make that everyone else's problem.
So! George and Dream XD are messing around in Kinoko Kingdom, when they accidentally stumble across Karl's library. Not realizing what it is, they hang out there for a while, reading through the stories. Suddenly, Karl bursts into the room clearly stressed. He can feel another jump through time coming on, and he's been trying to get to his library before he gets yeeted through the time-space continuum again. He starts freaking out and trying to get George and Dream XD out of there, and then George starts freaking out and trying to apologize because he didn't know he wasn't supposed to be there, and Dream XD starts freaking out because there is a powerful energy building around Karl and they can tell something is wrong but don't know what's going on. Karl grabs George's arm to throw him out of the library and Dream XD's power spikes because if there's one thing they're going to do it's protect George- and suddenly everything goes white.
When Karl wakes up, he's alone in his library. He can tell he's time-traveled, so he'll have to deal with George and XD later, right now the most important thing is figuring out where and when he is. But when he climbs out of the hatch of the library, his surroundings are surprisingly familiar- he's back in the Old West. After walking around he confirms that yep, this is definitely the same town he visited before, and based on the fact that he finds John John alive and well at the bar, it seems like he hasn't been here yet at this point. There seem to be a couple more people around than before too, though they're far enough away that he can't really make them out. Karl is confused, but this is nothing he can't handle. Maybe his time traveling got messed up somehow and he just has to... do this one again? He shrugs and goes to sit at the bar and chat with John until the bandits start pulling up outside. Pretending not to know what's going on, he asks John who the people outside are. John John fearfully tells him that they're the infamous Bee and Boo Bandits and that they've been ransacking the town for months.
Wait. What? Before Karl has a chance to question him, the doors are thrown open and he's greeted by two *very* familiar faces leading the bandits into the bar. Normally he might be glad to see Tubbo and Ranboo, but normally, Tubbo and Ranboo aren't threatening him with guns while they rob a saloon! Just what the fuck is going on here?
What Karl doesn't know yet, but will soon figure out, is that something weird happened when he time traveled. His jump through time combined with the sudden spike in Dream XD's power sent a wave of energy through the server that somehow dragged everyone on the server into one of the stories in his library. Now all of his friends are scattered throughout his stories, with new roles and memories that fit their settings, as if they had lived there all their lives. And it's up to Karl to find everyone and get them back home.
Alright, that's all the poetic/storytelling bit out of the way so now for some more details- So, the characters haven't actually been transported to the time period of the stories they're in, and the original timelines of the stories remain unchanged. Instead, the characters have been sort of transported into the stories Karl wrote about the events, rather than the actual events, so nothing they do actually changes history or the future. Also, all of the original tftsmp characters are still there, the dsmp people have just been added to the equation on top of them. And with the addition of new people, some of the stories have actually been significantly changed from how they originally went! For example, when Karl arrives in Mizu, the city is bustling and full of life, and it becomes obvious that Ranbob hasn't massacred the rest of the city's inhabitants yet. Along with the people who have been taken from the dsmp, there are tons of people Karl has never met, the original inhabitants of the city. It becomes a race to rescue all his friends before the massacre when Mizu starts running low on food and oxygen.
I haven't decided on a tales episode for everyone yet and I'm excited to see if people have ideas on where to put everyone but this is what I've got so far:
Tubbo & Ranboo - Wild West, leading the group of bandits that ransack the town
Tommy - Mizu, with Wilbur as his idol
Ghostbur - The Village That Went Mad
Niki - Baker and Co-sheriff to Sheriff Thompson in the Wild West, though this is subject to change because I kind of also want her and Jack to be a fighting duo in The Pit
Quackity - The Masquerade, he's a wealthy casino owner. His mask has a cool poker chip design over his ruined eye
Anyways I've been thinking about this for days and I'll probably just send more asks in as I come up with more ideas but yeah I hope people like this idea, I'm excited to see if anyone else has ideas to add on
-Cloud Anon
Oh lord. We have all of this chaos and man. Karl got to fix all of this or else things will go wrong very fast.
Got to go get his friends back or else everything is going to go to shit.
We got main character Karl and him most likely dragging George and XD along with him and man. This is interesting.

Tumblr media
I didn't expect to reach 131 followers in 2 months? I actually just wanted to post random art and writings of x readers from fandoms I liked here so I didn't expect this at all???
I plan on making this short celebration because I think I'm gonna be super busy this week, but it’ll be open until I've decided to close it so feel free to send me asks about what you want me to write!
The word limit would be about 400 words sadly so I have time to write other requests that are in my ask box.
Update: Here's some things I forgot to add-
SLOTS: Full
EVENT (Open or Closed): Closed!
Fandom/s: FNAF: Security Breach (Any characters), DSMP (Specified), MCYT (Any)
PLEASE SPECIFY! IF NOT THEN YOUR ASK WON'T BE ACCEPTED.
The word limit might stop existing due to me overthinking and typing too much so you'll either have a short, average, long story although you can say how many words you want! (No longer than 1000 words)
notes :
you can send any characters from FNAF: Security Breach, DSMP, and MCYT
I'll write any genres ; fluff, angst and smut (on my alt account) if it's dark themed such as yandere or an obsessional character x reader then it will not be that dark due to me being sucky at writing such things-
I'll have another post about the DSMP and MCYT characters I write!
IMPORTANT: When requesting NSFW send the ask here but it will be posted on my alt account thund3rst0rm_
🌠 Drabble:
send me any characters + scenario and I'll make a drabble of it!(please specify if it's sfw/nsfw!)
🌟 Headcanons:
send me any characters + scenario and I'll make short headcanons about it! (please specify if it's sfw/nsfw)
💫 Short Story:
send me any characters + a scenario or a vague description you want for this one and I'll write a short story about it! (specify if you want sfw/nsfw)

ALRIGHTY! LOYAL HERE COMING IN WITH THE CIRCUS HAHAHA
Btw, I’m like 90% sure that I fell asleep while writing so it just stops. Like, there’s no ending/summary/whatever word I’m looking for but can’t think of at the moment and my bird is currently chewing on my phone case oh my god can she please stop—
__________________
I believe the concept of yanderes ft. a isekai-d reader has been mentioned by Shepard and her anons, tho it’s been mainly for Origins SMP. So, I come to you with ideas for the Dream SMP because that’s all I’m familiar with HAHAH—
Also, I apologize in advance because this thing is borderline an essay with how long it is. I’m so sorry—
For example *cue dramatic lighting and a cheesy flashback monologue thingie* oh my god I think I’m losing it, I’m so tired
Y/n and their younger sibling, Frisk, had just finished up another press conference regarding Monsters being back on the surface. All seems to be going well until the ground beneath their feet vanishes and they fall unconscious a few moments later. When they awaken, they notice they’re surrounded by humans—wait they aren’t all humans, what the fuck, since when are there hybrids? They knew everyone from the underground—by name, no less—and had never heard of any currently living hybrids. Only of ones from before the war. Besides, Monsters have been on the surface for a month at most, so there is no way for... oh boy, their head is spinning.
After some very...tense...introductions (“Hi, I never saw you guys Underground, nor have I heard of you, no offense. So, uh, which monsters are you guys related to?” “OI, I’LL HAVE YOU KNOW THAT TUBBO IS NOT A MONSTER!”) they come to the realization that y/n is most definitely not from this world, or even this universe. Y/n’s adamant refusal to fight the “real monsters” that roam this land (“I did not spend countless timelines weeks putting my life on the line to befriend every monster, break the barrier that trapped them Underground, and defend them against my own god forsaken race just to turn my back on them.”) was a pretty big sign, after all. That, along with species of monsters that the SMP members have never heard of and how y/n talked about Souls as if they were a tangible thing.
It’s a rocky start before any sort of friendship is formed: y/n, wanting to be cautious, (and also not having Sans there to CHECK for them) decides to ask everyone what their LV is. It’s risky, and they had no way to prove if anyone is (or isn’t) telling the truth, but it was worth a shot. “Our levels?” A small goat hybrid asked, his head slightly tilting to the side. Everyone assumes that y/n is talking about enchantment levels. “I’m at 26! Ranboo, you’re at 30, right?” “I’m at 37 now, actually.” “Well, I’M at 58. Clearly I’m the superior one here. A real big man, a very manly man, aren’t I?” And a few others pipe in. Color drains from y/n’s face and they take a few steps back, hands shaking as their eyes dart between each person in the room and the exit. ‘How many lives have they each taken to make their LOVE so high? Why do they seem so proud of it?’ Yeah... that was an interesting experience.
- even though they have been reassured multiple times that the monsters of this world are nothing like the ones from their home, y/n still refuses to kill a single one, as I had mentioned earlier. They also refuse to kill animals. It takes a couple tries at explaining LV or LOVE—Level Of ViolencE—along with EXP—EXecution Points—but eventually everyone is on the same page
- Y/n is hesitant to bring out their SOUL when asked. First off, though they’re now friends with those from the Underground, they can’t help but be reminded of every spear, knife, bone, petal, gaster blaster, and fireball that has been aimed at them with the intent to kill whenever their SOUL was drawn into an encounter back then. Second of all, showing your SOUL is something you do with those you trust with your life—after all, you’re literally putting your lifeline out on display when you do so. There are so many different ways that the SMP members can see it
- Perhaps a monster appears
- Eggpire or Dream attack
- Someone forces y/n into an encounter because everyone is too curious to just let this opportunity slip by
- When y/n discovers that the people of this land have more than one life, they’re confused. There is no way that all of these people have SOULS of Determination, and there’d definitely be some issues if people kept rewinding time to their last save point. Besides, only one Determination SOUL—the strongest one—should be able to respawn. Then again, they only know what Frisk had explained to them. They were never able to see the save stars that Frisk would interact with in the different sections of the Underground. So they only have so much to go off of.
- Battle for them is completely different. Despite being in a different world, the mechanics from their world still apply. They can FIGHT, ACT, use an ITEM or show MERCY.
- They use Frisk’s tactic and flirt their way out of a fight or two. They never understood why Frisk did it until now... ‘I mean, I...wow. That was actually effective.’ They’re impressed.
- Oh no, maybe that wasn’t the best idea...they might have some yanderes after them bc of it...
- They probably have accidentally called Philza ‘Asgore’ and Tubbo ‘Asriel’ because both hybrids remind her of the two males from her world. Similar personalities AND Tubbo is a goat hybrid. The poor child is going to be so confused
- If Tubbo’s a yandere oh boy it’s going to be so easy for him. Y/n will probably be constantly at his side and telling him stories about the first fallen child and how they were adopted by the royal family, who are goat monsters! And just explaining the history of the underground and how important the goat family is. Talks about Asriel a lot as well. Probably makes him butterscotch cinnamon pie and tries to recreate golden flower tea to share with him as well. Or, they do that and he’s not yandere and it’s just wholesome.
- If we follow the headcanons that some fans have made, perhaps Frisk (and/or y/n) gave up half of their SOUL to give to either (or both) Chara or Asriel so they’d have another chance at life
- Not only does y/n refuse to kill, which leaves them vulnerable, they also only have half a SOUL, which means they’re incredibly weak. Someone needs to protect them, someone needs to keep them safe, someone needs to—
- Y/n is incredibly agile thanks to all the battles they’ve faced Underground. With their SOUL always out in the open during an encounter and the fact that they refuse to harm anyone, it’s required. I’m imagining them moving like a dancer, using jumps and spins to help them avoid any weapons swung at them.
- This is gonna be annoying for any yandere that wishes to lock y/n up. Even if they won’t physically hurt someone, they WILL put up a fight and make it as hard as they possibly can to be dragged into isolation or imprisonment
- When it comes to who goes yandere, I believe what color of SOUL y/n has (their personality, in summary) would play a big role. Here’s a few of my ideas, feel free to move people around or add to it, I’m really tired and can’t think of many characters LOL
- Red (determination): Wilbur, Technoblade
- Orange (bravery): Technoblade, Dream, Tommy
- Yellow (justice): Sam, Technoblade
- Green (kindness): the kids of the server, Fundy, and Ghostbur
- Cyan (patience): Ranboo, Ghostbur, Karl
- Dark blue (integrity): Tubbo, Philza, Sam
- Purple (perseverance): Dream—this man would love to see how long it would take for your perseverance to run out. I wouldn’t be surprised if your perseverance is the only reason he’s interested.
__________________
From what I saw of the end of what I wrote, it is DEFINITELY cut short. At least I mentioned every SOUL type lolol.
Also, I found a whole other note that’s a continuation of this concept but for y/n being from another game what the hell was I doing—
Expect that to come in another ask once I eat dinner
Sorry i took so long to answer!! I kept getting distracted!
That stuff is so pog man!!!! Puffy might be called “Toriel” once in a while because mom energy and she sheep,,, close to goat!
Gosh all the flirting will bring in so many yanderes or make ppl like “yo wtf??” And there’s a very small amount that are inbetween.
OKAY BUT WITH THE MONSTER STUFF ON THE DSMP- they’d keep the monsters in their house. They’d give them food and everything. Some def become very friendly and will defend. Haha giant spider go prrrrrr
I’d write more but there is so much amazing stuff I don’t think I could add to some of them anyways!!! Plus my mind is just racing other places rn haha

This is a lovepost because it's Dream's 2 years on Youtube anniversary today!!
Okay, so, I only really started watching Dream properly around last July/August (so happy 1 year of watching them to me lmfao). Before then, I was only a casual fan, watching whenever he'd appear in my recommended. Then, one day, while I was sat bored, I began to binge the Manhunts and everything went downhill (in a good way!) from there.
I had heard of the dsmp, but because I was only really watching the Dream Team, didn't have any idea about what it was apart from the stuff that would show up in the tumblr tags. I saw things like L'Manburg, elections, pog2020, a war and just sat here utterly confused as to what was happening (at the time, the only SMP's I was really invested in was Hermitcraft and Evo - yes, due to stumbling upon Grian but that's a story for another time).
I started watching the dsmp because I came across Kanaya's song, Marionettes. It got me intrigued in the series, and wanting to find out more about Dream's character (i like villains, they're fun - before anyone comes at me with a steel chair, no, I'm not an apologist, i just enjoy the character, he's interesting, ok?) I became absolutely invested in the world and story everyone had come together to create - my first full arc was the exile arc and i remember refreshing twitch every day to see if Tommy had gone live because I was that interested in what was going on.
Spirit, I hear you ask, this is supposed to be a love post for Dream! But you're talking about your personal experience and the dsmp! Yes, I know, but there's a reason, I assure you.
That reason is that Dream is at the core of all of them.
He decided to play minecraft with his friends and have fun, posting it for the world to see. Because of this, he's grown a community of amazing people, friends and fans alike. It has it's toxic parts, that I won't deny, but the majority of people I've interacted with have genuinely been some of the most creative and kind individuals I've ever had the fortune of speaking to.
Dream himself is an absolute inspiration to me, and I'm sure many others too. The way his brand revolves around smiling, and how he always tries to send out a positive message to his fans; be it doing charity work, supporting others or just sending out a simple "I love you guys". It's so incredible to see. The way he always bounces back, even when it seems like half of the internet is out for his goddamn head, he comes back. He comes back like he's ready to just take on anything, and I don't know how he does it because if I was in his position, I would have quit months ago. Dream has taught me to be strong if nothing else, and to share love and positivity with everyone, but at the same time, it's alright to not be tough all the time.
(He's an amazing actor, too, would just like to add. His character on the SMP, while I understand many used to take the piss out of him because of his voice acting (and in all fairness, kinda understand that one lol) he has improved so fucking much. As someone with an interest in voice acting, the way he's able to strike fear, sympathy or whatever he's striving to invoke in the audience at any point he wishes is fucking outstanding. Just wanted to add that in too because wow. Anyway, continuing on...)
At the end of the day, Dream is just a human. But he's a human living his best life and I admire him for that. He makes mistakes, messes up. He also learns from said mistakes and mess ups, allows himself to be educated on the matter, which is more than a lot of people do.
I just truly think Dream is amazing. He deserves his success. And if he were somehow reading this, I'd want to thank him for everything he's done, and for entertaining me over this past year. It's been an absolute joy to be in this community and I can't wait to see what comes next. I wish Dream (and the DSMP) nothing but happiness for the future. Thanks for reading this long ass post, I appreciate it.
Happy 2 years, Dream!!! :)

Both @kitsoot and @mmoon-sstars asked about this so without further ado, here is my tea on comparisons between dsmp and undertale characters based solely on the shitty takes fandom has about them
Because the reality is once in a while, somebody invents undertale again and this time it’s me and terrible fandom
Please note this is entirely about the way a large chunk of the fandom seems to perceive and misrepresent them in my opinion - because I’m salty. This is NOT a comparison between the characters in terms of personality or role in the story line, nor critical of any of these characters really!
Sans - Tommy: both are often made the center of EVERYTHING. other characters are delegated to side personas in their story. their angst is overly played up or focused on, imo to a ridiculous amount. you can not set two feet into the fandom without being hit in the face with them, which makes me resent them a little -> a shame since in both cases I started out liking the character but I just became oversaturated by the angst and the fact that nobody cares about anything but them
Papyrus - Tubbo: interesting characters that have a lot of potential but then the fandom typecasts them as morality pet or angst source for the above character. also, in both cases I feel like there’s some untapped depth here that the fandom glosses over to instead go “soft boy cinnamon roll uwu” which I DESPISE
Frisk - Ranboo: this character is morally complex but the fandom ignores that to instead make them another “innocent baby” and attribute the bad things they do to some outside influence, entity or person. please give them anatomy as a character back for the love of god. should be allowed to go a little feral, as a treat
Dream - Chara: very often perceived to be PURE EVIL and used as a just-add-water irredeemable villain or scapegoat when trying to blame somebody. that or people make them /tortured/ and /angsty/ without proper follow through, despite it possibly being an interesting take. might break the fourth wall and strangle you
Wilbur/Ghostbur - Flowey/Asriel: they were a good boy and then they were not and people are upsetti about it. ableism is this character’s middle name, fandom can’t stop using outdated or bad terms to describe them. at least the fandom at large thinks they could be redeemed. daddy issues central. if you like this character you are a theatre kid
Asgore - Technoblade: people in the fandom either hate them or love them, but there’s some strong opinions and little middle ground. gets unfairly blamed for bad things happening a lot, while in reality they’re just being sad bastards in the corner. big and scary. have a bad reputation for murdering children when put under pressure xD
Toriel - Puffy: is an interesting and flawed character. people are too distracted by screaming “mom!” to really notice and that’s a shame. could kick your ass
Undyne - Nikki: hot feral lady but the fandom doesn’t know what to do with them so they get sidelined instead. deserves to murder others and has a lot of potential for angst but we don’t talk about that because we’re lost in the sauce of the angst centered around those first three woobies
Alphys - Sam: hey this character has layers? w... what? you only want to pay attention to their faults? okay I guess... guilt is their main source of character development but the fandom is not equipped to talk about that in a constructive way because most of them are toddlers
Gaster - Phil: this character is mysterious and has a lot of layers too but we’re going to ignore all that to instead focus on them being a father - which isn’t even canon for 2 out of those 3 kids. and THEN we’re going to call them an abusive bad father for something which STILL ISN’T CANON OMFG SHUT UP. world’s sluttiest absent father (i said what i said)
Quackity - Mettaton: sexy bastard man. that’s it that’s literally all they are to the fandom
(bonus: Fundy - the entire dog army because i care about them but the fandom mostly forgets they exist or uses them as background brawlers lol)

Hello there! I recently found your fic A is for accidental dimensional travel on ao3 and would first like to say good job! I am thoroughly enjoying the story so far. As an amateur writer, I wanted to ask if you have any writing tips?
First, I’m really happy to hear you’re enjoying it, thank you!! And second, of course!!!:D That’s very flattering haha, and it’s something I can talk about for hours, though I’ll try to keep it condensed:’D I’m an amateur writer myself, of course, but, hey, I think every writer has something valuable to offer in terms of advice, and I have been pretty obsessed over the topic for years I guess lol.
I will say, though, that writing is like any other skill, and certain advice fits certain levels (I’ve had someone come to me about writing tips who didn’t have a grasp on the most basic concepts, so I told them different things from what I’d tell someone who’s actually been writing for a while). I don’t know what level you’re at, anon, so I’ll try to keep it to tips that I personally use whenever I’m writing, just a few quick things:D However!! You can always directly dm me and I’d be more than happy to offer more personalized/specific advice if that’s something you’d like:))
(I’d also like to mention that, to me, fanfiction writing is different from original writing. In fanfics, I usually go with the first draft of any chapter and I focus more on the Fun stuff, whereas with original stuff I’d have multiple drafts and be more careful. I just don’t have the time nor the need to perfect my fics if I like them enough as is, and I don't expect anyone else to perfect them, either. But, hey, that’s just me)
(Also, also, don’t look at me for grammar lmao sorry)
Putting the rest under the cut!:D
Dialogue is my favorite part of writing, so I’d like to share a few things I keep in mind whenever I’m constructing it.
First, unless a character is monologuing, I try to keep each person’s lines to no more than 3-4 sentences at a time. That way the dialogue flows more naturally and feels like people are actually talking.
Second, people are rarely graceful with their words, especially if they’re flustered for any reason. Cutting off sentences is a good way to show that, but don’t overdo it, either. That goes for stuttering, too. A couple of cuts or stutters is more than enough. I tend to break this "rule" when someone is really struggling, but that's only on special occasions.
Third, not every line needs a dialogue tag!! You need to evaluate what’s actually important. If you’re using a dialogue tag, you’re drawing attention to it. Why? Is it unclear who’s speaking? Are they performing some action that adds to/reinforces/conflicts with what’s being said? Is it funny? If there isn’t a good reason, you can just leave it without a tag. (Also, dialogue without tags flows much quicker, so that’s something to keep in mind. That's good for a quippy exchange.)
Fourth, I try to always progress some aspect of the story with every line. Usually, that can be plot progression or character progression. They can chatter about their day, the weather, work, sure, but it needs to progress something. Maybe it’s used to showcase the tense/awkward atmosphere. Maybe they learn information that’ll be useful later. Maybe it’s a way to show personality. Just, have it have a purpose.
And last, ‘said’ is not dead. Our eyes when reading barely register the word, so if you don’t wanna draw attention to how something is being said, use… ‘said’ lol.
A few more general things:
I don’t switch POVs often, but when I do, I try to make each POV have its distinct voice, which is something you hear a lot about in writing classes and such. People far more advanced than me can explain it much better, but the way I go about it is similar to dialogue. Different people use different phrases, some go on long tangents, some introspect a lot, some would rather die than think for a second about what they’re feeling (doesn’t mean you shouldn’t describe their emotional responses; just that some may draw more attention to them and linger longer). Switching between more formal styles to looser and rambly is also an easy and quick way to distinguish different narrators.
If you focus a lot on a certain detail, that detail needs to be important. Listen, I didn't spend multiple paragraphs on Dream fawning over an ender chest for that to be trivial in the future lol. The more attention you draw to something, you more weight you put on it. I really recommend that you bring it back eventually.
What’s the worst that can happen? Make it happen, and make it worse lol.
Your readers aren’t stupid, don’t spoon-feed them information. They’re smart cookies, leave some clues and they’ll figure it out. Hopefully. Use your judgement lol. But that goes for descriptions, too. Help them paint the scene, don’t actually paint it for them. Use different senses to describe something, such as smell, touch, sound. Once again, draw attention only to what’s actually important. (I’ve really enjoyed the way descriptions were done in Path of Golden Green)
If you want a line to have a lot of weight, put it in a separate paragraph. That’s probably obvious, but good to have it in mind haha.
Decide what atmosphere you want your story to have. If you’re going for a lighter one, don’t focus too much on serious, dark things. Likewise, tragedies and comedy don’t mix well unless it’s a tragicomedy lol, but that’s a whole other thing. I usually like going for a nice middle, sometimes leaning more towards light stuff. It’s why in A is for Accidental I didn’t dwell too much on the possible effects the prison could have had on mh!Dream because I wanted to keep that storyline relatively light (at least, compared to dsmp!Dream’s storyline lol). Possible trauma just. wasn’t the point here lmao. I just slap on a “eh, not his first rodeo” and I’m done haha. Not everything needs to be heavy angst and not everything needs to be all funny and fluffy. Find what balance you wanna have. Basically, it’s usually not a good idea to betray your readers lol.
This is more of a pet peeve but I really dislike head-hopping lol. It's basically when one paragraph is from one character's POV, the next one is from another's. I guess there's the third-person omniscient POV where that can fly, I suppose, but I'm more of a third-person limited kind of person lol. If that's the POV you're going with, decide on your POV character and stick to it (until the change in POV, at least), pretty please <3
This is very unorganized but each aspect of writing has so much that could be said about it that I thought I should stop here lol. If there’s anything specific you’d like me to talk about or to elaborate on something, please, feel free to ask; again, I’d be more than happy to ramble more about writing lol. I could go on forever, honestly:’D

I'm so happy I'm not the only one who feels super uncomfy with ranboo and tubbos "marriage". Its so hard to see them interact and watch the entire chat explode with awws when they're just acting like friends??? Not to mention that it makes zero sense for their characters to even be on good terms, so hearing them unironically saying "this is lore" makes me lose ten years
;LKAHF;KAJFH YEA LIKE. when i saw that First anon i was like ‘oh thank god’ because. i dont vibe w it at All n i felt it jus me but i Guess Not!
like ppl being all ‘theyre so cuuuteeee’ and ‘awwwww’ whenever they do.... Anything? ive never liked that n the added ‘platonic marriage’ bit adds Another layer of discomfort.
but especially..... like. it makes No fucking sense in dsmp lore. i cant lie on that shit it jus. it doesnt work its feel jus them havin a Goof n being like ‘ok its canon now’ when like.... tubbo doesnt really Do lore so much. least not like others do. so for them bein like ‘its canon now!’ is just. i dont get it. whats canon and what isnt? how have they as Characters developed n interacted? wheres the line basically.
and like. the trouble figuring out whats ‘canon’ to the characters n story and whats the cc’s themselves jus doing things.... doesnt bid well when it comes to the Marriage bit. too easy for wack ppl to be like connecting it to them being ‘real’ yknow

DSMP Life Trade Headcanon
Have you ever had a headcanon you really like and you end up making a few thousand-word essay for it?
Yeah.
This is going to be a long one, so strap in.
So, I've been into the DSMP for a while now, a good few months or so, and in that time I had ample time to see a lot of the fan content made for it, which for the most part have been phenomenal. And amongst the fan content, I've seen a bunch of headcanons for a lot of different characters for a lot of different things for a lot of different reasons. And while I don't agree with all or know all, it's fun to see everyone sharing and creating all these different takes and ideas and concepts about the same set of characters.
And eventually, I even came to create my own.
I then proceeded to brainrot about it ever since its inception and here I am making an entire goddamn essay about it. But I had fun making this so what of it, you know?
This particular headcanon of mine is one I’m going to be calling the “life exchange” or “life trade” (interchangeable) headcanon because I suck at naming. And you'll know what I mean soon enough.
To set the stage, here's something I'm sure the majority of the DSMP fandom and community are aware of: the canon lives.
Every member of the DSMP (for the most part in one way or another) has three canonical lives. And after their third life, they're gone. They're permanently dead to the server.
Unless of course some...thing happens to them and makes it so that isn't the case anymore.
Now, to my knowledge and in my opinion, outside of them being, you know, extra lives for the characters, in the structure and the technical function of the world of the DSMP server storywise, the canon lives don't add much. Again, they seem more like "extra lives" so that even if characters get killed, they will still be able to make a return in the story. And yeah, some deaths are very important for the story, it still feels, I don't know, lacking? Just a little bit.
So that's when I decided; hey, why don't we up the stakes?
Instead of them simply returning after losing a canon life and obtaining whatever sort of scar or alteration from whatever killed them, something extra happens?
What if, every time they die, they lose a little bit of their "self"?
Let me explain.
One of the driving factors of me getting into this fandom are the character designs fans have made for the DSMP. And let me tell you, I've seen so many amazing and bizarre and wonderful designs, and it still boggles my mind that these incredible designs are based and/inspired by block people in a fucking block game.
Like I mean it's awesome, don't get me wrong. Mad respect to every artist out there.
But damn.
Anyway, everyone I've seen make art for this has been fantastic. However, this became a personal problem for me, though not in any serious way. More like a personal dilemma.
There are so, so many variants of the designs, and I was compelled to make my own. My only problem is that I was overwhelmed with a bit too much inspiration. I wanted to do all designs, but I also wanted each character to also be, like, consistent in how I draw them. Overall, of course, I'm aware that over time my style and to an extent their designs might shift little by little.
So what was I supposed to do in this situation?
The simple answer is to just have fun and just make what I want to make.
The answer I took was not that. Instead, I went careening off the edge of the headcanon cliff at full speed and dove straight to the bottom and continued digging deeper.
The main premise of this headcanon is that "in exchange for another chance at life, something important will be lost".
The way they look (their designs) will be directly tied to their canon lives. With each new life, something will change, and it will double as an indicator as to which life they're on right now. This way, it makes all the different designs "canon" (and lets me use any of them whenever I want and is just really fun for me personally).
But also, I think it also ups the stakes a bit. Gives them another reason why not to risk any of their lives outside of the threat of having a permanent death.
Losing one of your lives? Sucks.
Losing one of your lives and then losing an important part of yourself in your next? Shit.
Oh, and when I say they lose a part of themselves, I don't mean that something will be taken from them before they're respawned for their next life.
Oh, no, no, no.
They're the ones that have to make the decision of what they want to trade for their next life. And this in turn will affect them in their next life, in one way or another.
Why did I choose to make it like this? Simple.
"How badly do you want to return? And what are you willing to give to do it?"
The trade will determine it.
However, there are a few more details about this exchange that are important to note. For one, they cannot give away anything material, i.e. any of their supplies or tools or anything like that. Things that they created or built in the living world do not count for the trade. After all, once you're dead, you can't really bring anything else with you but yourself, now can you?
It has to be something that's part of their "self".
So in exchange for another one of their lives, they must give up a part of themselves. It can be anything. Their powers, their bodies, or something else entirely - as long as it holds any value to them and is what makes them "them", it's valid for the trade.
Oh, and if you thought the trade was just so they could come back to life, no. That's not all that the trade does. There is an upside to it, in favor of the characters.
In exchange for them giving up a part of themselves, they're not only given the chance to come back to life but they're also given compensation for their sacrifice. Think of it as an equivalent exchange sort of deal - you gain as much as you lose. Depending on how vital or important whatever they traded away was, they will be healed and fixed up from whatever had occurred to them during their death.
For example, let's say someone got run through with a sword - a fatal blow. It's nearly impossible to fix. And even if it was fixed, it would still have life-altering complications for you. Well,  if they trade something important enough, it might be enough to compensate for the complete restoration of that wound. So in the next life, you're practically as good as new.
Again, it varies from person to person, trade to trade, but that's the basic gist of it.
Not bad, right? At least you aren't completely fucked up for round two or three.
That being said, even if they were to be completely healed from whatever injury they sustained, it will still leave a scar, or more likely a mark (like discolored skin or something like that). I like to call this the "mark of death" - something they "gained" from their last life, and the thing that stands as proof that they did die.
So that's how this headcanon works. I think it's pretty neat, as it adds an extra layer of risk. Makes it like, yeah, you might have multiple lives, but they're all equally potentially detrimental to you. Even if you don't lose everything, you will lose something.
But I want to take this essay one step further. I want to show this headcanon in full effect with a proper example in a character.
And for that, let me bring in one character in particular: Tubbo.
I've seen numerous headcanons for Tubbo's design. So, so many. And what's fascinating is that as far as I can tell from the wiki and after talking to a friend of mine who's been in this fandom longer than I have, the only parts that are truly canonical about Tubbo's character is that he has scars (from his execution during the Manberg Festival) and that he's very possibly a goat-hybrid (from what I can find, this comes from two sources; one is Tubbo himself, where he clears up theories about Schlatt and Tubbo being related as non-canonical, but that Tubbo as a goat/ram-hybrid might be, and the other is from Captain Puffy mentioning that he has “little horns” when talking about goat/sheep people on the server).
That is literally it. That is literally all we have in terms of canon traits as of writing this.
And even with only those two key details, people have made an array of fantastic and curious and wonderful designs for him. Some have taken the more human route, making him look more like his MC skin or just CC!Tubbo, while others went absolutely HAM with the possibilities brought on with him being half-goat, to the point that it's literally nothing like what we see in the actual gameplay and videos.
And after much consideration, I created my own designs.
I would also like to credit my friend @nivorann, as they were the one who gave me the prompts to work with here.
Tumblr media
As you can see, I went with a sort of winged-satyr sort of thing.  And I'm really happy with this design!
The satyr thing is there for obvious reasons. And while I don't really know much about the context for the dragon!Tubbo design, it looks cool so why the hell not? My design, my art, my rules.
But I do want to mention a fun detail about this design - I tried adding a little bit of bee elements into it (like the colors and the translucent-ish, bug-ish wings) as a reference to Tubbo's fondness to bees. It doesn't add much, but I think it's adorable and just plain fun.
Though I am a little bit ashamed and guilty to admit that, despite this design, I think I'll mostly draw him in his more human design. After all, he lost his two canon lives near the beginning arcs of the DSMP, and so that would mean we would be seeing more of this current third life form, anyway.
So, yeah.
But anyway, I wanna talk about those two lost lives.
For his first life, I don't have much to say, considering my knowledge about the early days of the DSMP is still pretty spotty. But according to the wiki, he was killed during the War for L'Manbergian Independence.
For this death, he traded away his wings. There isn’t much significance here for that at the moment. From a logical standpoint, it's the more "risk-free" option of what to give up, since he's still able to utilize the rest of his body quite fine. And in IRL terms, there's nothing to indicate that C!Tubbo was capable at any feat of flight (unlike how Philza canonically has wings and that Quackity is popularly headcanoned to have wings himself due to him possessing an elytra).
It's his second trade that I have more to say on (again, partially due to the fact I genuinely just know more about the events surrounding it).
Tubbo was executed by Technoblade during the Manberg Festival under Schlatt's orders after being outed as a spy. And for his third life, he traded away something much more substantial than his wings; he traded his entire body.
Specifically, he traded away his satyr/goat-hybrid form.
So now, during his current third life, he's been reduced into a "regular" human.
There are two main reasons as to why he chose to trade his entire body. The first has to do with that compensation thing I mentioned before; by trading it all away, it was enough to heal the majority of his blast injuries, leaving his scars and a blinded eye which act as  his mark of death. Of course, there might be phantom pains, but for the most part, in my version, Tubbo still maintains most of the function over his body like before.
The other reason is more emotional, or psychological (-ish? I'm not sure of the words here).
During the Jschlatt Administration, Tubbo was treated pretty poorly by Schlatt when the two of them were working together. And this was long before they found out to be a traitor. From what I could gather, Tubbo's opinion on Schlatt was always pretty neutral even though he did dislike him, but I can't help but imagine there must be some scrap of like, slight hatred. Especially after his execution.
Yet, despite that, when you think about it, he and Schlatt are also quite similar. Not only are they both sheep/goat hybrids, but they both acted as president of L'Manberg, with Tubbo succeeding Schlatt as the third and final president after the former's final canonical death.
Knowing all that, you can imagine how much it would fuck him up.
During this point in the story (The Manberg Festival), I would think that Tubbo would want to get rid of as much of "Schlatt" he could see, at least in the moment - and that included being seen like him in any shape or form. Emphasis on form.
So not only is he trading away something important to himself, but he's also getting rid of something that reminds him of the one who cost him his second life and who he will, eventually, succeed in the future.
.
So yeah, after that lengthy spiel, that's basically how this "life trade" headcanon works. It might be a little complex, but personally, that's why I love it. I like working with the information we have and piecing it together with "what-ifs" and other ideas and concepts I see being floated around in the community. It's really fun to brainstorm.
In all honesty, I have an assortment of ideas and headcanons in regards to a lot of the characters, including little quirks and also how it ties into this "life trade" headcanon of mine, but I'll hold onto that for another day. Granted, I don’t have ideas for everyone, but I do have some for a good chunk of 'em.
So yeah, that's basically it.
.
P.S. Go check out my friend @nivorann! They helped out a lot and put up with me brainrotting and brainstorming this shit.
