Raphael x Reader - Oneshot (TMNT 2014/2016)
Tumblr media
"Sup shrimp."
"I'm not a shrimp I'm a grown woman!!" you screamed charging at Raph. He didn't even budge when you ran into him. You on the other hand tumbled to the floor with a grunt. Mikey raised his head when he heard the collision.
"Hey, I think you moved him a little this time (Y/N), good job." he sent you thumbs up, but you just stayed there laying flat on the floor.
You were only fifteen, and since Raph was older, he never failed to remind you of it. Even at your age, you barely look it. You were small, and a bit of a tomboy. It didn't help that you grew up with brothers. Fighting was the way you communicated. That's why you always went at it with Raph. He made it his mission to point out your very boyish qualities. Not that you cared.
"Just wait till puberty hits me, I'll be so gorgeous even the boys at school will have to acknowledge me!" You holler. So maybe your constant fights with Raph weren't solely because you liked roughhousing.
Thing is, you had the biggest crush on him. His attitude, tough personality, and geez those damn muscles. He drove you every type of crazy. That's why you got into it so regular with him. Of course you'd never admit it.
All your teenage mind seemed to process was Feelings+Raph= Punch the shit outta him.
Very mature approach.
"Ya better keep dreaming, you'll be a shrimp no matter how tall ya get." you growled, jumping to your feet as you grabbed his leg.
"Corkscrew!!" you yelled. You tried locking his leg with both of yours to pull him down. It usually worked with your brothers, but you should have known better. Raph just smirked and leaned down, grabbing one of your legs as he lifted you into the air upside down.
"P-Put me down you overgrown tortoise!!" you were struggling and throwing punches at his body, but none of them connected, he was holding you at a distance.
"Maybe if ya nice I'll think bout it." You folded your arms with a glare.
"What, you really think I'm going to beg? Never."
"Is that right?"
"No it's left. Of course it's right! LEO!! Raph is bullying me again!"
Leo sighed, coming around the corner to inspect the damage. "Raph, stop treating her like a rag doll. Put her down."
He huffed, moving to the couch. "Fine." Just like that he opened his palm. You dropped with a soft thud, and Raph snickered under his breath.
"Better?" When you collected yourself, you used the couch to boost you as you jumped unto Raph's back, wrapping your small hands around his neck in an attempted chokehold.
"What do you have to say now big guy! I can take you out in seconds." you pressed into the pressure point on the side of his neck, and he dropped to his knees in surprise.
"Hah, no matter the size, that'll forever be a weak spot." You would know, you used it on your brothers. You were about to deliver another devastating blow. He grabbed your arm before you could do much, pulling you to the ground. When you raised your body to fight back, he just used one hand to push you down by your chest. You blushed at the contact.
"Y-You pervert now you're groping me!!"
He looked unimpressed at your accusation. "Please, ya as flat as a pizza." His statement made your face redder, and you kicked his chest, putting some space between so you could get up.
"STUPID TURTLE!!!"
With that you were running out the lair in a rage. Raph stood slowly, and Leo just shook his head at him.
"You really shouldn't mess with her so much Raph."
"She's the one that came running at me."
"You didn't exactly help the situation."
"Gimme a break." Raph groused. He usually brushed it off when you yelled at him, but this time you looked pretty upset.
Logically, it would have made sense to go after you and apologize, but Raph was never the logical type. So instead he dealt with it the old fashion way.
"I need to punch something." he grumbled, heading for the training area.
Leo just let out another exasperated sigh. He looked over at Mikey, who just lifted his arms shaking his head.
"Don't look at me brah, I'm not getting in the middle of that. " You may have been small, but your temper rivaled Raph's so talking with you while you were pissed wasn't the best thing to do.
~One Week Later~
"Where's (Y/N)." Raph really didn't think you would have stayed away this long. It had only been one week, but it felt like so long since he heard you yelling as you tried to attack him with a new move.
Donnie raised his t-phone from his spot. "She's got exams, I've been sending her information to help in her chemistry class. She said she won't be able to stop by until it's over. Apparently her parents have been getting on her about her grades."
Raph could understand that, what he didn't understand was you messaging Donnie instead of him.
"What's wrong Raphie are you missing your little girlfriend~"
Mikey made a face, mimicking kissy faces and Raph just smacked him.
"Shut up! I ain't missing that shrimp!"
"Fine, no need to get violent." Mikey grumbled, rubbing the back of his head.
"Alright break it up, we got patrol in a few minutes, no fighting." Raph cracked his knuckles. "Great timing." He could use with a little brute force.
~~~
"Damn it this makes no sense!!" You were stressing over your finals, and to make matters worse, you'd just recently gotten your period, so not only was your brain committing suicide, so was your ovaries.
"AHHHH!!!" your oldest brother rushed in at the yell.
"Dude, quit screaming. I thought you were being murdered." you frowned.
"I might as well have been, this shit hurts." He grinned at you.
"My dear little sister, finally becoming a woman. They grow up so fast." He said faking a sob. You just rolled your eyes, throwing a book in his direction.
"Get out of my room before I chug my bloody pad at you." he made a disgusted face.
"I fear for your future boyfriend (Y/N)." you just gave him a look, and in seconds he was rushing out, shutting the door. You dropped your pencil, placing your head on the desk.
"Future boyfriend.."
The first image to pop into your head was Raph, and you blushed, letting out a soft groan of annoyance. What was the use falling for him. He barely even acknowledges you as female. It was so frustrating. Yet, you couldn't stop hoping that he'd somehow just sneak into your room and confess his undying love for you.
It was crazy, impossible. "Dumb hormones." You couldn't believe you'd been in such a rush to go through this, it was hell. What was even worse is your chest had been sore all week. Your mother insisted it was normal, but it didn't feel normal.
"Dumb puberty." you regretted ever wanting to experience it.
~Three Weeks Later~
"Still no word." Donnie shook his head. "She's not in danger, and she texts me, but for some reason she hasn't been down here in awhile."
Leo was never one to act irrational, but now he was getting worried. And Raph was completely stubborn. "Raph, you have to go talk to her. She's obviously still mad about what you said last time. "
"That was weeks ago, and why do I gotta do it! Did ya forget she was the one that came at me."
"You hurt her feelings Raph. You don't tell a girl her chest is flat as a pizza, even if it's true."
"Since when did ya become an expert on women." Leo was about to respond, but a sneaky smile rose on his lips.
"So you do see her as a woman. Hah, I knew you had a thing for her. No wonder you're always messing with her. " Raph couldn't work up a reply so he just growled, turning his back and punching the wall.
"Somehow I feel like they're made for each other. " Leo chuckled. His brother may have been a muscle head, but at least he wasn't blind.
He'd fix the problem eventually. Leo could tell that your absence was starting to get to Raph. It was only a matter of who would make the first move. That might take a while though.
****
It was foolish, you hadn't intended to stay away that long, it's just that so much happened in the span of three weeks. Now you felt way too embarrassed to face Raph due to your most recent development. That didn't stop the guilt though. Because you missed being around the boys. Mikey, Donnie, Leo and especially Raph. You'd just stopped visiting with an explanation. What kind of friend does that? Not a very good one.
"Tomorrow! I go and explain everything." You were tired of hiding out in your room. You didn't want your friendship to suffer because of your stupid hormones.
Clack!
Your head whipped to the window.
"The fudge.."
Under normal circumstances, it was never smart to go towards strange noises. So as you inched out of your bed, you grabbed your baseball bat, moving cautiously to your window.
If some serial killer thought he was getting an easy victim he had another thing coming. You stood at the side, hiding behind the wall as you watched the figure crawl into your room. With a vicious swing, you whacked him right in the face. When you heard a grunt of pain you rushed to your light switch with a grin.
"Take that you stupid serial psycho you really think I was just going to...R-Raph!!"
"What the hell is wrong with ya.." he spoke tightly, he was rubbing his face in irritation. You dropped the bat.
"I-I'm so sorry I thought you were a killer or something. Why didn't you call. You don't just sneak into a girl's room in the middle of the night. "
"I would have called, but ya been avoiding the liar and my messages. Figured I'd come and see why ya acting so weird."
He was right. Suddenly you weren't as sure. Taking a step back, you wrapped your arms around yourself, looking away.
"I-I just..I had exams.."
"Don't gimme that shit, you've been done for a while. Donnie told me."
"Fudge."
You couldn't think of any more excuses that would be half as believable. When Raph saw the way you were guarding yourself and keeping your distance, it sort of hurt him.
He realized then that his words must have done more damage than he thought. He really didn't think you would have taken it to heart. A big part of your friendship was the both of you insulting each other. Maybe this time though, he went a little too far.
"I'm sorry alright." you looked up, and Raph shifted his gaze to the wall.
"I didn't mean it, I was just teasing ya. Truth is I couldn't give a crap if you're small. It's what I like about ya. Ya always give me shit, and yer never afraid to call me out and fight me, even though there's no way ya could win. "
Was he confessing? It sure sounded like it.
"I do see ya as a woman. Ya don't have to worry about puberty or any of that crap. Ya already freaking hot to me." you just stared, cheeks glowing a bright red.
"Y-You think I'm.."
Oh boy, you were going to have a heart attack. No way was this really happening. Raph scratched his head a bit awkwardly.
"Course I do. I guess I just liked having all ya attention. You never flock towards Leo or the others. Ya always chase after me."
Of course you did. You'd been crushing on him for months, maybe since you met him. He was finally looking your way, and he took a step forward.
"I don't care if you're flat as a pizza, ya still cute to me." He placed his hand on your chest to prove his point, except this time there was a plumpness he didn't expect. You flushed, and on instinct you kicked him in the groin. Raph stumbled back, holding the crouch as he fell to the ground.
"W-WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU! HOW DARE YOU TRY AND CUP A FEEL!!"
"Wrong with me! Just a few weeks ago ya were as flat as a pancake!" He gaped, still fairly confused, and you just covered your chest bashfully. Something seemed to hit him.
"This is why ya were acting so strange..." no wonder you hadn't stopped by. He could see it clear on your face.
"Did ya ass get bigger too?"
"Y-You jerk why would you even ask that- aah!!" You didn't expect him to get to his feet and take your arm. He pinned both your arms to the bed, pressing you to the mattress. Your chest was pressed into the bed, and you had to look over to see what he was doing.
"R-Raph let me go this instant!!"
He just smirked at you, lifting your shirt slightly to get a look at you from behind.
"I was right, yer ass did get bigger." you jumped when you felt his hand on your butt. You gasped when he groped you, squeezing your cheek softly. "P-Pervert!! This is assault!!" you squirmed, but it was useless, he had you pinned to the bed.
His body leaning over is what kept you from getting away.
"It's not if ya like it." He whispered sultrily. You swallowed, trying not to let him see just how much you were actually enjoying his touches. He lowered his body, and now you could feel his strong plastron pressed to your back. His hands flattened on the bed above your head, and you whined, still trying to wiggle away. Maybe save a little face.
"Well well, I thought ya were cute before, but now yer delicious." he gave your butt another appreciative squeeze and you could only muster out a small mewl. "R-Raph.." Why was he torturing you so much?
"Yes." you glanced at him, and from the desperate look on your face, he already knew what you wanted. He moved back slightly to help you turn unto your back, and now that you were facing each other, you gazed at him. He could see the raw want in your eyes. His little touches might have just nudged you over the edge.
Without so much as a word you pulled him down, sighing when his lips finally met yours. His body covered your own protectively, not leaning his full weight, just enough that you could feel him. And boy did it feel good.
Your hands were hooked around his neck as you kissed him hungrily. It may have been your hormones, or the fact that you'd been dying to kiss him for who knows how long. Raph didn't mind one bit. This time when his hand landed on your chest, you moaned, begging for more. Raph let out a throaty chuckle when he managed to pull back, giving you a chance to catch your breath. "Ya better keep yer voice down. Wouldn't want ya family catching us."
Family, wow, you completely forgot about those people.
Raph was just staring at you now, and it made you a bit flustered.
"Q-Quit staring." you mutter.
"Why can't I, I'm admiring my woman."
"Y-Your woman! I never agreed to that!" You're dream come true, not that you would say that aloud.
"Guess that means we can't kiss anymore." He looked like he was about to move away, but you grabbed the strap across his chest.
"W-Wait!! I-I guess being your woman wouldn't be the worst thing in the world." He knew secretly you were overjoyed, even if you were trying your hardest to cover it up.
"Whatever ya say shrimp."
"I'm not a shrimp I'm a grown woman!!"
This would be a very interesting relationship.
_____________ ***January, 1946*** Donny was walking through his neighborhood, just like he had every afternoon since he got back from the war. He never did that before... He was tired, but he could never sleep. He was angry, but there were no nazis he could (legally) scalp.   He couldn't seem to settle back down. Things in his mind didn't quite quiet down. Sometimes, it seemed like the war was still on. Donny was the man that killed Hitler, after all. It was hard to go back to being just Donny, Sy Donowitz' boy. He couldn't even seem to find someone to talk to. All the guys he used to go to school with, or play baseball with were either busy buying houses, busy with a baby or two, or busy with a brand new business. Some of those guys had bum knees now. Some of them just never came back... And the girls they all used to hang around with had 'just married' signs on their cars, or busy fighting to keep running the jobs they had the keys to during the war. They weren't the same kids sneaking into bars, playing ball, and dancing to brass bands. They were soldiers.
He walked with his hands in his coat pockets, looking down at the pavement. His shoes over the concrete were a stark contrast to worn down boots over snowy forest floors and enemy bones. He shut his eyes, wondering where the boys were now? Of course, he knew Aldo was in Tennessee....but where? Was he sitting up in his cabin? Was he visiting his sister? Telling his nieces and nephews stories they wouldn't believe till they read their history books? And Hugo? He'd moved to a quiet, small, almost impossible to find town in Connecticut. Was he finding the heart to talk to the girl at a corner store? Smitty?  Smitty lived in New York. He'd promised Donny he'd go back to school. He made it into NYU, was he in class right now? Was he visiting his grandparents? And Hirschberg? Was he out with his girl? Was he finally looking for a ring? And Omar? Wicki? What were they all up to? Were they all having a hard time going back to the way things used to be? Donny glanced at his watch. 5:47 PM. A year earlier this time, they'd be camped out somewhere between France and Germany, listening to Aldo telling stories. Hugo would be sharpening a knife.  Omar and Donny would be fighting about baseball. He sighed, walking around the corner, finding his street. He heard a dog barking. An old, half-blind, but excited pitbull trotted up to the fence. "Hey Bugsy! Hey girl!" Donny smiled, as he crouched by the fence and reached through, petting Bugsy. His neighbors had that dog since he was in high school. Bugsy belonged to the kid next door, Andrew. He went to school with Donny. He played ball with Donny. He went to war with Donny. He was a marine. He never came back. But, ever since Bugsy was a puppy, she'd always seen Donny and Andrew walk down the street together, after school, after practive, after games. Ever since Donny came back from the war, and walked down the street, back to his home, with his uniform on, Bugsy whined and cried excitedly, thinking Andrew was following. And every time Bugsy saw Donny, she'd bark and whine, happily thinking Andrew wouldn't be long. Donny sighed, as he patted her head, "Sorry Bugs. He ain't comin' home today either." He started to get up, and she began to whine. He sighed with a soft smile, "I know, Bugs... I miss him too." She sat, putting her paw up against the fence. Donny chuckled a little, "I'll be back tomorrow. Promise," as he walked over to his home, just next door. He shuffled through the rest of the day blankly, as he did most days. Soldiers... He sighed, Most of them seemed to be perfectly happy, somehow settling back in seamlessly...At least, it seemed that way to Donny. He was happy to be back in his dad's barbershop again, but...he'd often look out the window with a quiet sigh, missing some things he'd left behind. Like the basterds. Life seemed to move ever so slowly now...And there was no one he could share it with. Night bled into morning, and he was working again. He was sweeping up his dad's shop, just before opening. He smelled coffee, and remembered the day after the war ended. The basterds woke up in a tavern, somewhere in Paris they hadn't been before. Covered in streamers, with headaches, and a flight home, they all drank some coffee to ease the aftermath of the last night's celebreation The bells at the shop's door rang, and he turned around, snapping out of that distant memory of a small pub in a forgotten corner of Paris. It was afternoon now... "Mikey!" Donny grinned, seeing his kid brother standing there. When Donny left, he was just a sweet kid, somewhere in the middle of that awkward middle-school age. He was halfway through high school now, following in Donny's footsteps as a star on the baseball team, and almost as tall as him, too. Time felt so slow now that he was home, but it seemed to have gone by in the blink of an eye when he  was gone. "Donny!" He seemed as though he had the secrets to the universe in his hands...but Donny, and everyone in their lives, frankly, was getting used to that. He was beginning to take a psychology course...and...he thought he had half the damn neighborhood figured out. He went on a million-word-per-second kind of rant, but Donny picked out a few things. Something about war, veterans, sleep, and emotions. "I'm fine, kid." Donny shook his head, grinning. "You worry too much." He stopped for  a second, and looked at him. "You're like ma, y'know." "Very funny, look!" He shuffled through a folder, and dug out a diagram, and all the symptoms that matched what he saw in Donny. At the very top, underlined, highlighted, and pointed out in arrows were  three words: Thousand-Yard Stare. "Mikey! Your mother's been looking all over for you!" Sy Donowitz, their father, emerged, half saving Donny from his brother's persistence, while saving himself from his wife's wrath. "Alright pop..." Mikey sighed, though he glanced at Donny. Donny was red in the face, frustrated. To him, it was like Mikey airing out his dirty laundry, so to speak. "He means well, Donny." His father patted him on the back. "Yeah, I know." Donny sighed, now feeling guilty for feeling angry, and angry for feeling anything and everything. And then nothing. He sighed, as he sat on his bed after work, muttering "Fuck a duck." Something crumpled beneath him, and he stood up. It was Mikey's diagram, along with a school report. Mikey's first draft for a psychology paper, and he chose to write about veterans. Donny read half of it, and had to put it down. He knew he needed some help, but he wasn't sure where to begin. He walked downstairs, and went out for a walk, as always. Only this time, he went farther than usual. Halfway across town. In fact, he made it downtown. He couldn't get his mind off of the essay. He knew Mikey meant well. Donny wasn't sleeping much, he couldn't get his mind off war. He just couldn't go back to being Donny. His mind suddenly snapped back to Boston, to 1946, to the present. He saw you, on the ground, right in front of him, trying to pick up some papers. He'd literally run into you. "Fuck a duck," He leaned down, helping you pick some of them up. His hand brushed against yours, and you looked at him for the first time. "Say..." Your heart skipped a beat, and you smiled a little, "You're Donny Donowitz." "That's me." He smiled, though he sounded a  little exasperated. You stammered, a little star struck. After all, it's not every day you meet a war her like that....Well, it's 1946, you do... But it's not every day you meet one of the basterds. He'd picked up on that, and chuckled a little, used to it. "Nice to meet ya..." "Y/n." It took you a moment to remember your own name. "Y/n," he repeated with a kind smile, slowly handing over the papers he picked up. He spotted pictures of dogs on different sheets, and realized they were some sort of records. "What's that?" He seemed genuinely curious. You sighed, shuffling the papers back in order, "Records of the dogs' vaccines, just updated them. Gotta bring them back to the-" You laughed a little at yourself, realizing he had no idea what you were talking about. You took a breath, starting over, "I train  therapy dogs." "Really?" His face lit up a little, and you didn't quite catch on to why just yet. You nodded with a grin. Even thinking of your work made you feel happy. "It's been real busy for a year or so. Lots of veterans have been looking into it." He smiled, "I might, too." "Everyone's gone home for the day...maybe...you'd like a private tour?" You winked, and he asked, "You won't get in trouble for it, will ya?" You laughed, "Ah, fuck the rules." He smirked, knowing you'd get along just together just fine. He followed you to your work,  you brought him out to see the dogs. You left for a minute to go file away the papers, and came back to find Donny sitting on the ground, playing with all the dogs. One dog in particular seemed to instantly be attached to him. "Hey boy!" Donny laughed as he petted a border collie. You crouched by, smiling "His name's Charlie." "He's fucken adorable." Donny kept playing with the dogs, though that one in particular melted his heart. "Isn't he?" You chuckled. You'd realize that was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Donny came by every day, just after closing time to spend time with Charlie. (There was a little more to it than that, but  you didn't catch on yet) You didn't mind staying a little late. You liked Donny's company. And...it made your heart sing to see him so happy around the dogs. A few months passed. You realized there was an empty spot, and your heart dropped. Charlie had been adopted. "Oh no..." You sighed, knowing someone needed and deserved a dog like that. It was going to happen eventually, after all. You'd told Donny there was a big demand for therapy and service dogs lately. So...why did it hurt so much? You were always a little down when a dog was adopted, but never this much. You sat by your desk, and slumped a little as the day went on. You got frustrated with yourself, denying the reason you were so upset. With Charlie gone, maybe Donny would stop coming by. You shook your head, denying that was what upset you. But...you weren't much of a liar. "Maybe just a little..." You sighed, watching the hours go by, knowing at the end of the day you'd have to break the news to Donny.
It was closing time, your coworkers left one by one, and you sighed, "Fuck..." You realized in that painfully long wait that you were hopelessly in love with that basterd. There was a familiar knock on the window. You turned around slowly, and your heart broke, seeing how excited Donny seemed. Even more so than usual... All the more heart breaking You opened the door, about to break it to him... Rip the bandaid off, really. But before you could say anything, you realized Donny was holding on to a leash. "It was YOU?!" "I adopted Charlie!" He laughed, though he seemed happy, there was one more thing he wanted. "Are you...busy?" He smirked a little, already knowing the answer. Now that you didn't have to sneak Donny into work, your schedule was wide open... He knew that. He'd have to find new excuses to come see you. But, for now,  as you walked with him through town, and his arm wrapped around you gently, but protectively, you both knew it was the beginning of something more.
Mikey x Fem! reader ch: 2 & 3 (combined)
Tumblr media
(Y/N) had no idea who that stranger was. Despite the dangers ahead, she doesn't care much about that. She couldn't stop thinking about those hands however. She has never seen anyone with three fingers in her whole life. Other than that, she wants answers. With a boost of confidence, instead of going home, staying out late should be a breeze. In her opinion to be exact. It was the next morning, and she grabbed some extra food and soda to help her stay up all night as much as possible. School is the same as yesterday. Thankfully she wasn't given any homework today either. She met up with her friends at an after school club and hopes she doesn't forget what she has to do afterwards. After the club has ended, it's time for her to find the mystery stranger.
(Y/N)'s P.O.V
I was walking around trying to find the figure. It was very quiet as usual. There was no sign of anything....nothing. Just myself. I sighed thinking to myself if I would just give up, but I chose not to. I kept on walking far and wide into the streets. That is until I found it. The figure.....it was standing before me. But why? Whatever it may be, I do feel a bit uneasy. Without saying a word, the figure runs off quickly. I decided to follow it. I ran to its direction as fast as I could. When It got to a corner of a random street, it stopped. I hid in a corner of a wall that way it won't see me. I waited for the figure to make its move. That's when it jumped into a sewer. "A sewer? B-but why would- *sigh*. Who am I kidding?" I walked towards the sewer area. I know I couldn't get in that way because the lid itself is too heavy to lift. I looked around to see if there may be a second entrance to it. And I did. There was a rectangular hole that seemed big enough for me to squeeze in. I took off my backpack, and managed to enter. I grabbed my bag, and started to walk into the sewer line. It was really dark so I had to take out my phone to turn on the flashlight. I kept on walking until I fell into a slide like area. I was sliding downward screaming but laughing at the same time. It was kinda fun, it almost felt like one of those water slides you go on in a local water park. I landed on my ass which kinda hurt. "Ouch!" I rubbed it, and got up immediately. There are so many sewer pipes, I couldn't figure out where the figure may be, so I decided to go straight. It was a long path to get through. Just as I felt like I may be close, I heard footsteps. No. more than just footsteps. A skateboard too? I started to panic a bit but managed to find a sewer pipe large enough for my tiny body to fit. I hid in there, and waited for whoever was coming straight ahead. What I saw, made me wonder. There was.....four creatures running passed me. "Hey guys! Wait up!" said the fourth mysterious figure trying to get its skateboard running. What's weird, is that it has rockets on it. Plus, I can't even see the person at all. Just a silhouette. "Come on Mikey! We got some foot clan butt to kick!" another one said in the distance "okay okay! Calm down Raph! It's not the end of the world you know!" it rode away with the others and the sound soon went to silence. I slowly got out, and decided to keep walking "that was.....Fucking weird." I said to myself trying to figure out who those people were. I walked a couple more steps until I found this strange looking door. Well technically it's not a door per say. I noticed it was slightly opened. I looked back for a quick moment to see if no one else was around. The coast is clear thank god. I slowly opened the strange yet mysterious entrance, and revealed some kind of lair. It's weird that a lair is located in a sewer. I also noticed The height of the entrance from here all the way to the ground does seem a little high. So basically I had to jump down like as if i'm in an action movie. I took a deep breath and counted to three. "one.....two.....Three!" I jumped and managed to land on my backpack since it's on my back obviously. I got up and stared at the place. "Woah!...." I walked around, and it had crazy technology, bedrooms, exercise weights, and a ramp for I'm guessing skateboard tricks like the ones you see at a local park. I looked around and noticed there was a sleeping rat in one of the rooms. A huge rat to be exact. I almost made a single sound after it scared me. But thankfully my words were stuck down to my throat. I sighed in relief that it didn't wake up at all. Guess it's a heavy sleeper. I walked around some more, and the bedrooms have doors. The same exact shape as the one where I entered the place. I entered one of them and noticed a small TV with a PS2 and DVD player sitting there. The room was kind of a mess too. It was littered with pizza boxes and candy wrappers. Gross. In the corner of the room, there was a mini fridge with a pack of Orange Crush Soda hidden in the back of it. After taking a look at that, I checked at the condition of the TV and PS2. surprisingly, they were in good shape. Even the DVD player is too. The TV is an early 2000s model. Old, but still good. I turned both of them on, and they work. "Oh. neat" I smiled a bit and I made the decision to play with it. I slowly and quietly closed the strange door, and took out one of my old games I always played in my childhood. "I haven't played Sonic Unleashed in a while. Might as well go ahead and play for a bit." I turned down the volume as low as possible so I didn't wake up the strange rat, and started playing. An hour in a half passed, and I started to get tired. Although I did eat a few of my snacks and since I ran out of drinks I ended up drinking some of the orange crush soda from the back of the mini fridge, I kept on yawning. Since I'm too lazy to head home, I might as well just spend the night here. I paused the game, and ended up falling asleep on the nice bed. It's kinda nice here. Quiet, no interruptions, a nice spot to play some games and have some time for myself. I just hope nothing goes wrong at all.
end of P.O.V The Mysterious heroes who are actually turtles have returned home to the sewers and one of them spoke. "Sensei! We're back!" the rat was meditating and no longer sleeping. "Where have you four been?" The turtle with the blue bandana named Leonardo spoke "we had another foot clan attack. We managed to stop them on time." The rat sighed. "Did anyone see you? Anyone at all?" they all shook their heads. "No Sensei. We got away as quickly as we could." The rat nodded and responded. "Good. you may all rest now my sons. We have a big day tomorrow." they all looked at each other. "What day is it?" Leonardo asked. "Training day." they all groaned and the rat chuckles. "Now go. I must concentrate." they all went to their rightful rooms and the youngest of the four named Michelangelo stretched his arms and fiddled with his orange bandana. "I'm gonna go on ahead and play me some video games!" as he got to his room, he noticed the TV was on along with the game system. "Huh? Hey wait a second! I don't remember playing this game at all!" He removes the game disc from the system, and yells out to one of his brothers. "Raph! Were you messing with my game system again!? And where did you get this game!? Did you rent it or something!?" The red bandana turtle named Raphael comes into the room. "What? No! What are you talking about? Lemme see that!" he takes the game disc from him and takes a look at it. "You serious? Do I look like the kind of guy who likes playing as a blue furry that runs like the flash?" Mikey stares at him in an irritating way as his own brother tosses the game disc across the room. He looks down and notices the empty cans of soda on the floor and looks back up at Raph. Raph himself was now getting angry. "You hid a stack of orange crush soda from me without even telling me!?" Mikey starts to get angry too. "Yes I did! And don't lie to me! I know YOU found them, and did this for a good laugh!" Mikey and Raph argue back and forth until they stopped when they notice movement in Mikey's bed. "What was that?...." Raph pushes him out of the way, and takes out one of his weapons. "Stand back." He grabs the sheets, and snatches them out of the way and sees (Y/N) sleeping. They both stood back as Raph dropped his weapon in complete shock. "How- what-.....where-?....oh god there's a g- a gi-..." he couldn't speak and they both looked at each other and ran out of the room in a panic. "Donnie! Leo!" they both yelled as the other two were busy doing their thing. "What? What happened?" Donatello said as he adjusted his glasses and purple bandana. "There's a g-girl in my room! And a- and uh R-Raph almost killed her on my own bed! And-" Donnie stopped Mikey. "woah woah woah! Slow down! You're saying there's a girl in your room?" Mikey nodded frantically. Leo shows up eventually and spoke to them. "what are they talking about?" Donnie responds to him with a sigh. "it appears they saw a human girl in Mikey's bed." Leo looks at them and takes a deep breathe "show me. Now!" they take them to the bed, and see (Y/N) still asleep. They all looked at her and Donnie started analyzing her. "Okay. according to my analysis, she is 18 years of age, 5'0 feet tall, 125 pounds, (H/C), (E/C), and somehow it shows me her uhh.....cup size. They're quite an impressive size for a young adult if you ask me. Wish it didn't scan them though." the other three's eyes lit up when they heard that word "cup size huh? What is that?" Mikey asked. Donnie whispers to them what cup sizes are, and they widened their eyes in surprise. Mikey blushes bright red. "Aaaaand I am now questioning my own innocence, thank you very much." Raph smirks giving his younger brother a noogie "all right Mikey! Our own little bro's first lesson in becoming a man! Woo!" Mikey playfully pushes him off shaking his head smiling. "tch. whatever bruh." Donnie finishes analyzing, and looks at Leo. "what shall we do?" Leo looks at the girl and sighs "well uhhh-" Mikey interrupts him jumping up and down excitedly "Can we keep her? I promise to take good care of her! please?" Raph and Donnie facepalms, and Leo looks at Mikey with a long pause, then proceeds to speak. "We'll might as well let her stay for the night. But we're taking her back home tomorrow!" Mikey squeals excitedly "Yes!" Leo then talks again "and one more thing! If Master Splinter finds out, we gotta tell the truth. But first when she wakes up, we gotta know how she got here. First thing in the morning before our training day starts. Got it?" Mikey nods. "Oh yeah! Totally. Yeah...." Leo nods. "Good. come on guys. We gotta go to bed. Sensei wants tomorrow to be on point. That goes for you too Mikey!" Mikey nods with a smile on his face "aye aye captain boss bro!" Raph looks at Mikey who is staring at (Y/N) "she's really pretty man." Raph nods "yeah. Never seen a girl like her before. Hopefully when she wakes up, we can have a nice chat with her." Mikey nods. "What about April? She's pretty too." Raph chuckles shaking his head "nah. She's too bland. Maybe this one may be a keeper." he winks with a daring smile. Mikey chuckles and Raph pats him on the back. "Well it's getting late. Night Mikey. See ya in the morning." Mikey looks at his brother as Raph leaves the room. "Night bro." Mikey decides to sleep on the floor and hopes this girl may be the one for him. Despite that, in his heart, he can feel it beating like a steady drum right now which means it's love at first sight for him. TO BE CONTINUED!....chapter 4 and 5 are next soon! :)
Importance
A/N: this was supposed to be a drabble but it turned into a fic. angst, as always.
Tumblr media
~They say if you really love someone else, let them go. For if they return, they were always yours. And if they don't, they never were~
Donatello had never believe on true love before. He was a mutant ninja turtle living in the sewers, trying his hardest to protect his city from impending doom caused by his enemies. So love wasn't exactly on his list. Plus who would even find him good-looking, considering every interaction with humans had resulted them screaming for their lives. That was, until you had entered his life. He was so glad for you, he started to love every moment spent with you. He looked forwards to your visits, always eager to be the first one to greet you.
It was a game he liked to play in his mind, pretending he was yours and that you were his. Ultimately he knew that his fantasy would come crashing down but he pushed those thoughts aside, he just wanted to live in the moment for once. Not thinking about the consequences that would come after. Not about the heartbreak that would linger for months to come. How much he should have resisted the urge but his heart wanted to play this dangerous game.
His thoughts now consumed about you, he could only imagine how it felt to touch your skin. Who would be the lucky one to hold you close to their heart. And who would be the one you went to for comfort and happiness. It sucked that you were his first person but he could never truly be the one to reach your heart. To be able to love and cherish you timelessly like you so deserved. He had to twists the urge to tackle you in a hug when you were around, refraining himself from touching you longer than acceptable. But there were times, where he genuinely couldn't help himself. You understood him like no other and it was almost eerie how much your interests were so similar to his.
He tried to flirt with you, god he tried. But either you were just not interested or you were just were oblivious. He liked to believed it was the latter option, the first would have surely broken him. As a shy and reserved turtle, being bold and outright wasn't his scene neither did feel right. He wasn't Mikey, to simply just ask you out and to so easily chat with you. So, he went with what felt right. What he thought you'd appreciate.
Earrings. It seemed silly but he worked so hard on them, constantly fixing them to what he believed would be your preference. He analysed the type of jewellery you wore and made it accordingly. His heart fluttered when he recalled you seeing them. You had gasped softly, touching them so gently with the pad of your index finger and his face flushed in embarrassment and nervousness.
"I-I realise it's pretty weird but-" He blabbered anxiously but he was completely thrown of guard when you threw your arms around his neck. "They're perfect, thank you Donnie! I needed new earrings anyway" you grinned, stepping back and taking your old ones out. "As a matter of fact..." the earrings were a perfect fit, shining underneath his lab lights.
"How they look?" You smiled, turning your head to the side allowing him to see the creation he made in all its glory on it's intended user. "Beautiful, you look beautiful... with-with them! Of course.." He chuckled nervously, his heart thumping with love at the acceptance of his gift. No one had seen this appreciative, this happy. "Ah, damn. I gotta run, tonight" you looked at your phone, and then back at the tall turtle. "I'll see you tomorrow. Night, Don" you hesitated a little before planting a sweet kiss to his cheek. You watched his eyes widen, mouth slightly parted as though he wanted to say something.
"I..." he broke off, when your lips came into contact with his cheek. For the first time in a while, his intelligent brain had failed him and he stuttered trying to think of a comprehensible sentence. 'C'mon Donnie!'
"Catch you later" you chuckled, waving goodbye at the turtle and disappearing out of his lab. To say he was elated was the biggest understatement of the year. His brothers knew he was happy, they noticed the small twinkle in his eyes in the morning when he grabbed his coffee. They saw the boost of energy and enthusiasm when you came over and they saw the happy smile on their brother's face when you talked to him. It had been so long when a human understood him for what he was, nerdy talk and all. Not wanting to change a single thing, talking to him as if he actually mattered. Even taking an interest in his works, finding him to be so interesting. He still couldn't get over it. And for that moment, everything was perfect. But as quick as that moment came, it left.
Time spent in the lair was rare, you were busy with other things and your life. Which was understandable, of course. Your world didn't revolve around theirs. But still, not a warning not a word to anyone. Donnie tried to continue with his life, but it felt strangely empty. No one to talk to him, no one to joke around with. His brothers were always there, but it wasn't the same. Not without you. He would be lucky to receive two text messages from you on a day. And as much as he wanted to pretend you were just focusing on your work, the foreboding pain and heartbreak weren't far away. His lab felt vacant, without the presence of a curious human asking questions and engaging in conversations. He never quite felt this alone in his lab before and he hated to think how much he needed you. One of the first human to come into contact with them and see them for who they were, rather than what. So why had you left so suddenly? The answer was deep in his gut, he wasn't important to you. It was a bitter pill he would have swallow, sooner or later.
"Ah shit!" He cursed, as the experiment he handled dripped on him. The burning liquid scalded his hand, blistering the skin almost immediately. He clenched his hand, eyes squeezed shut as he tried to reduce his small whimpers falling from his lips. He threw off his glasses and his goggles hearing the clattering of the equipment in doing so, running to the skin in the corner to help alleviate the burning pain in his hand. The burning sensation dulled to a throbbing instead and he breathed out, feeling tears streak down his cheeks. But they weren't due to the injury. His eyes blurred once more as he shakily closed the tap, biting his lip to help no sounds escape his throat.
Why was he crying over this? He felt so ridiculous, so pathetic but... he couldn't help it. His chest tightened, taking a breath seemed an impossible task with how tight his chest felt. He slumped to the ground, arms cradling his knees close while the pain his hand was long forgotten. It was a physical injury, it could heal with some ointment and a bandage. But when the pain comes from the heart, it's so hard to block it out. It wasn't something you could cover up and pretend it wasn't eating you out alive, pretend that you were okay when you truly weren't. Donnie never really wore his heart on his sleeve, never really showing anyone how he really felt unless it was important. But with you, it felt like his heart was in your hand and you just playing with it however you pleased. He missed how it felt to be loved by another. Even if you didn’t fully reciprocate the true feelings he had for you, having a little love was better than none at all. He didn't remember how long he stayed on the floor of his lab, all he wished was for you to enter his lab again. But you never did.
Patrol was something to take his mind off it. He texted you, but you never seemed to answer them. You didn't seem to want to. And as much as it killed him, he stopped sending text messages. He stopped worrying over it. His brothers saw his energy deplete slowly, how much he drank coffee now since he couldn't sleep. How much his appearance had changed from over thinking and the lack of any good rest. How snappy he was and how much anger he would have. But one night, that had all changed.
"Donnie..." Mikey whispered to his older brother, his face shifting to one of worry. Donnie kept his eyes focused on the building Leo specifically told them, not interested in what Mikey said. "Hm?" A small answer was given and Mikey sighed, coming closer.
"What's wrong bro? You've been acting so... cold lately. It's Y/N, isn't it?-" "No it's not! I-" Donnie fumed but paused when his anger raised at his youngest brother. Mikey merely stood, allowing the silence to provide his answer instead. Donnie's eyes closed, brain feeling like mush at the sound of your name. No tears, not today. Not right now
"I don't want to talk about it, Mikey-" "Don-" but before Mikey could further protest, his eyes caught sight of a very familiar looking shadow. It was you, holding hands with another person. You were laughing, joking around with another individual. The same person who acted this way towards his brother had now moved on so easily without a care. This couldn't be true, right? His breath hitched, looking back at his older brother debating whether he should say anything. Maybe you guys were just best friends, but when your lips met another pair... it was clear as day you thought otherwise.
Donnie saw, oh he saw it all. His heart felt like it was in throat, head dizzy from seeing you for the first time in weeks. He tried to say a word but it was useless, what could he have possibly said to justify your actions? This wasn't a best friend move, you truly moved on away from him. How much pain did his heart have to take to move on from you? How much times did he have to break before the reality sets in? Breathe, Donnie. Breathe
"Donnie.." Mikey whispered, his heart broke seeing his brother so distraught. The genius blinked thrice, looking at his younger brother. The sympathy, the sadness in his baby blues confirmed his deepest fear. He wasn’t trapped in some nightmare, this was real. He had to face this. "Don't, just don't...." he hissed out, turning in his heel and flipping away. He ignored the protest of his younger brother, focusing instead of getting the hell out of there. He didn’t realise he was crying when stinging tears slid down his cheeks. His lungs burned for oxygen but he couldn’t seem to stop himself from running. His knees gave way on a rooftop, just as he was about to jump off. Any psychical injuries he had couldn’t overcome the one he was feeling in his heart. Is this how heartbreak felt? Surely he had to be in a relationship for that?
Throwing his head back in exasperation and pain, he spared a glance at the full moon sitting above his head. Thoughts bounced off his mind, but he recalled a memory of you both sitting side by side watching the night fall. How much you both spilled your hearts to one another and a lone tear fell at how he will never be able to experience that with you. He knew it was too good to be true, why did he play that dumb game? Why did he willingly let himself in harms way, knowing there would be no way you could ever choose him. Even if Donnie wished and prayed that you would, your heart belonged to someone else. That someone wasn't him. He tried to hard to fit into your pretty perfect picture, forgetting how much it would hurt him when he realised that you could never feel the same way. And yet, even now he couldn't hate you. For who would want to be tied down to a pathetic mutant?
Imagination was a wild thing, and sometimes it lands you in pain and loneliness.
family sticks together, bruh
Notes: I was re-watching the Bay-verse movies and suddenly got irritated at the no last name thing at the end of the second one. April O'Neil was right there. Their ride-or-die, their badass older sister, their hogosha. So here's my first contribution to the TMNT fandom. I literally wrote this in half a day, so if you see any writing errors all I gotta say is...my bad. Enjoy the found family fluff!
Rating: G
Also on AO3.
April figured it all started with a package hastily stuffed in her mailbox. It was barely small enough to fit, wrapped in that tough paper-cardboard material, and took a few careful pulls to get out. She couldn’t recall ordering anything recently, so the least she could do was try not to destroy what was most likely her neighbor’s mail. But when she flipped it over for the addressee, she was surprised to see “Mikey O’Neil” on it.
April and her “childhood pets” had been reunited four months back now, and it continued to throw her life upside down. A happy upside down, though. Those two names together were doing a number on the loner habits she’d built up since her father’s death. Apparently, all it took was four mutant teenagers and their father to start breaking down those walls.
She snapped a photo of the package and sent it to Mikey as she walked up to her apartment. Her phone lit up with a video chat request seconds later. The boys were just like any other teens when there weren’t bad guys to fight—they loved texting (on their one-of-a-kind turtle phones), sending her snaps, and video chatting whenever they could. April supposed that 15 years alone in a sewer could make one a little starved for new attention, and she was always happy to talk.
One of Mikey’s eyes filled the screen first, and then his grinning face when he pulled back. “You got it!” he hollered.
There was a thump from somewhere behind him, and Leo yelled something about peace and quiet when meditating. Then all she could see was a blurry carapace as Mikey quickly escaped to some other part of the lair. “You got it!” he cheered again, down to a whisper-yell.
“Sure did,” she answered with a smile, while making sure her apartment door locked behind her. “A little heads up would be nice, though. People do steal packages.”
“Man, that would’ve been no bueno. It has my name on it and everything.”
She shrugged—it was New York, what could she say. “About that… Mikey O’Neil, huh?”
He brightened. “Yeah! Makes sense, right? You’ve always been family even if we got separated for like, way too long, and who wouldn’t want to be a badass O’Neil?”
“Hm.” Her smile was fond even as she bit her lip to keep herself from doing something dramatic like tearing up. “You make some excellent points.”
Mikey nodded, seemingly proud of his reasoning. “You get me, April. So when are you gonna come hang out?”
“Not until tomorrow at least.” She set the phone on the counter as she turned to mess with the oven dials. “I’ve got to eat, and then a grimy bathroom and donation boxes are calling my name.”
Two weeks ago, a great aunt she hadn’t talked to since her father’s funeral had passed away and apparently left her succession rights to a New York miracle: a rent-controlled apartment above a quiet antique store. It was a dated unit and still smelled a bit like old people, but she was making it work.
A whine came from her phone. “Aw, shell… Oh, hey! We could help! Four mutants and a human are better than one!”
“That’s sweet, Mikey, but I’ve got this.” Plus, she was starting to pick up the brother’s dynamics. That visit would devolve into complete chaos in no time, given the cluttered mess. There were a lot of breakable objects she was still in the process of either packing up or donating.
“Your loss, Ape. Guess we’ll see you tomorrow.” He got up close to the camera again and whispered dramatically, “You’ll bring the package, right?”
She snorted and leaned over so he could see her face. “Pinky swear.”
“I don’t have a pinky, so I’ll have to believe you. Bye, April!”
The screen went blank, and April had a glimpse of herself in the reflection. She had to admit… her smile looked a lot more genuine these days.
In work news, however, life had been a lot of sucking up to Bernadette and the team after getting her job back, so she didn’t get down to the lair until late in the evening. Entering through the water system wasn’t exactly ideal, so they’d built a biometric, heavily enforced door as an alternative. Leo spotted her first as she shoved her way in and waved from where he was cleaning his katanas.
The new lair seemed to change every time she visited—more light-up signs or beat-up furniture appearing—and she still felt a little guilty for being the reason behind the move. The guys had assured her that they didn’t blame her, and they were having fun with the tall ceilings and tunnels in the new space. Splinter had even claimed one to start a bonsai garden.
“Hey, April! How was your day?” Leo called, carefully setting his weapons aside to get up.
“Not too bad, mostly research on some detox craze—”
“April!?” There was a crash from the back where they had set up a gym area in an upper opening. Mikey came tumbling out, almost right on top of where Raph was exiting the lower tunnel, and he gracefully avoided retaliation. “You got the goods?”
Leo shot her a confused frown, and she answered with a fond “don’t ask” look before rummaging in her bag to pull it out. “Yes, Mikey, I have the goods.”
Mikey bounced over and pulled her into a quick, bone-crushing hug before taking the package out of her hands. He ripped into it and pulled out a gaudy gold chain that looked like it once belonged in a 2000’s music video.
“Bling, bling!” he crowed and threw the shell necklace off to be replaced.
“Wait a minute, is that what was so important you had to order it?” Donnie said as he and Raph joined the group. “That’s such a waste of money!”
“Some ninja you are,” Raph snorted. “You can see that ugly-ass chain from a mile away.”
Leo hummed at that and then frowned. “Mikey, did you even ask April if you could send that to her place before you ordered it?”
Said turtle shrugged. “I knew she wouldn’t mind.”
The others seemed to erupt at once.
“Except it’s an unknown package being sent to her place, especially with the Foot Clan knowing her association with us—”
“Even worse, it’s inconsiderate to just assume—”
“Even worse, Leo? What kind of bullshit is that—”
April was an only child (well, not so much anymore), so she wasn’t used to how quickly one small thing could turn into a full blown argument. If pushing got involved, then 6-foot mutant turtles or not, she would break up that fight—yup, there’s the shoving.
“Guys, GUYS!” April moved forward and intercepted the beginning of whatever as they all avoided bumping into her. “It’s fine. You can have stuff sent to my place, I don’t care. As long as I can get it down here.”
It took a little more convincing to assure them that no, they were not imposing on her, and then they seemed excited about this new opportunity. Apparently, they’d had to scout out addresses before and sneak the package away before the occupants realized. Obviously, this was much more convenient.
Steadily, they all started to order stuff online (with what money or credit card she had no idea) and have it sent to her place. Parts for Donnie, books for Leo, and though she only felt it through the packaging, yarn for Raph. At first, Mikey was the only one who used O’Neil for the address. Then something changed, and they all started to use it too. A package of tea addressed to Splinter O’Neil gave her a small laugh one day. Raph had been the last to address himself as O’Neil, always so stubborn, and seemed almost shy when she delivered it.
April knew she was very biased on this, having seen them as teeny-tiny babies, but her little-big brothers could be pretty adorable sometimes.
---
The last name thing had come up with Splinter one day as they sat in his quiet bonsai garden, enjoying some tea while the boys burned off energy around the rest of the lair.
“I don’t want to overstep any boundaries or anything, but I’ll admit it’s… nice. My dad was really all I had for family, so it was just us and then me for so long. It’s almost like this has all… I don’t know, come full-circle? If that makes sense?”
Splinter smiled and reached out to lay his hand on hers.
“I was not lying when I said I modeled my parenting after your father. One way or another, you both cared for this family, and you know we consider you a part of it.” April nodded, a little choked up, and grasped his hand. He’d said it himself, but she wasn’t ready to fully relive how Splinter felt so familiar, so comforting.
“Besides,” he continued with a chuckle. “Michelangelo has quite enjoyed having a last name, and I think the others were a bit hesitant before they saw that you didn’t mind.”
“Of course not, I’m all for it,” April laughed, wiping under her eyes. “Now there’s more than just me to make the O’Neil name proud.”
---
One other thing she had discovered about being a big sister to four trouble-prone teens: full names were extremely effective.
“Donatello O’Neil!” she shouted the second she stepped into the lair, and all movement ceased. Leo balanced on one foot, mid-throw, Raph was mid-swing across the lair, and Mikey had an orange soda titled towards his face, where it slowly dripped down his front.
A weak “Oh, shell” came from the direction of the lab, and she stormed over. A taunt from Mikey followed but was quickly cut off with a grunt. Donnie was hunched over his desk, head turned slightly to look up at April’s furious approach.
“Why the hell did I just find a tracker in not one but all of my jackets?” She reached into her pocket, grasped the tiny devices, and tossed them on the desk. “I almost had a panic attack thinking I was being tracked by someone else. You know that’s been one of my worst fears ever since the Shredder, and we’ve talked about privacy and emergency plans, Donnie. I have a panic button on my phone, and I gave you permission to track it when absolutely necessary.” She let out a frustrated huff, pointing at the trackers. “What. Are. These?”
He’d sputtered a bit and avoided her eyes as she spoke, but he finally looked up when she stood silent, waiting for an answer. His shoulders drooped, and he wheeled back from his desk to face her. Even sitting, Donnie was only slightly shorter than her.
“Contingency plan,” he finally bit out. “Phones are most likely the first thing a kidnapper would get rid of to avoid tracking.”
“Wh— kidnapper?” That caught her off guard, and the tension in her shoulders released a little. Was there a new danger she didn’t know about? “But who… Oh.”
Movement on his tablet drew her eye, and the footage there followed a shady van that looked very familiar.
The Foot Clan—because an organization that big could still survive with their leader in jail for a year now—had disabled her turtle-approved security system and ransacked her apartment a couple of weeks ago. The cameras from across the street told them that and how the intruders had missed April coming home by a mere 12 minutes. They had obviously been searching for something specific, and she eventually realized it must have been the box of notes from Project Renaissance. Luckily, they had been stored in the lair for safe keeping.
After coming home to that mess, April called Donnie right away and started packing up her necessities. All four of the turtles had met her at her usual sewer entrance, and they formed a tense detail on the trip back. She worked out-of-office that week as she laid low in the lair and waited for the all-clear while they doubled up her apartment’s security. Splinter and the boys were good about giving her space when she was working, but she could still feel the hovering and worry. The guys had been in and out more often, Splinter always had some tea ready for her, and she just knew there had been many hushed conversations out of earshot.
Sure, deadly henchmen being in her apartment had freaked her out, but it had really freaked out her new family. April held her own against all of the weird shit they got dragged into, but there were always reminders that she did not have a shell or ninja training; a sprained ankle, one small concussion, too many bruises to remember, and even a few less inches of hair when it got singed in an explosion.
She looked between the tablet and Donnie, but now he held his gaze steady. “The Foot know where you live, and you refuse to move. This was the best way for us to always be there when you need us.” His voice was even, calculated, but his hands were clasped tightly and one foot tapped insistently.
Oh, her sweet, overprotective boys. Under all that bullet-proof shell, they were all just teenagers who had five people in the world to call family, and they did not take that for granted.
April sighed and turned to sit against the desk, holding out one hand. Donnie took it and held on, grip tight. “It comes from a good place, Donnie, but you have to tell me about these things. Trust goes both ways, okay?”
Leo, Raph, and Mikey were hovering around the entrance to the lab, and she gave them all a stern look to reiterate her point. “I know I don’t have a shell, but I am scrappy, stubborn, and awesome at running in heels.”
“Way better than the Jurassic World chick,” Mikey piped up, and Raph lightly punched his arm.
“You’re damn right,” April answered, smiling at his effort to lighten the mood. “So I appreciate the worry, guys, but you need to talk to me. I worry, too. You might forget, but you’re not invincible.”
“Better off than you,” Raph grunted. This time Mikey punched him, not as lightly. “What, it’s true!”
April sighed. “Come on, Raph, you know muscle isn’t everything.”
“No,” he grumbled, “but you got us. Whether or not you like it, we can take the hard hits.”
“What he means to say,” Leo said, shoving Raph back with his shoulder, “is that we were worried, and we didn’t think you were taking the threat seriously enough.” Donnie’s hand gripped hers a little harder, and she looked back to see him nod in agreement. “We are sorry about the secrecy, though.”
April sighed. “Fair point. You know I love you guys,” they perked up at that, “but having back-up is kind of a new thing for me. It’s habit to go solo, and it’s habit for you four to be a team.”
She held out her other hand. Leo was closest, and he took it with some hesitation. “Still a learning process all around.”
Mikey eagerly grasped Leo’s other hand and then Raph’s, refusing to let go even as Raph gave a shake, so they were all joined. “Family sticks together, bruh.”
---
The O’Neils had been a thing for awhile now, but writing it down was very different to actually saying it outloud. Mikey had no trouble claiming his new last name, and had even dubbed some pizza monstrosity he concocted from as many toppings he could get as the “O’Neil Special.” For the others, it took some time to say it—at least when she was around to hear.
Eight months. Donnie had been talking a mile a minute about a phone meeting set up with an award-winning engineer currently teaching at NYU. He’d been given 30 minutes to ask her all the questions he wanted. April had kind of bullied Vern into setting it up with his new connections, and Donnie had asked her to be there for moral support. She assured him it was all going to go great and to just make the call already. His shoulders went rigid under her hands when the call connected. “Hi! Hello, uh, this is Donatello O’Neil, I got your number from Vern? The Falcon?” She squeezed his shoulders in comfort, grinning proudly for many reasons.
One year and 2 months. Raph had been playing a one-on-one basketball game with Donnie while April refereed. Even as the self-proclaimed muscles, Raph was agile, and he did a quick maneuver around Donnie to score a perfect 3-pointer. “And Raph O’Neil makes the shot!” he whooped, doing a quick victory dance. He didn’t seem to realize it, but April certainly did. She felt warm and fuzzy after that, so she let him get away with traveling a couple minutes later.
For Leo, it just hadn’t come up yet. Although, one day she’d been stress cleaning their mess of a kitchen, and opened one beat-up book in curiosity to see “Leonardo O’Neil” neatly written on the cover page. That was enough for her.
Then her amazing family had finally gotten the acknowledgement they so rightly deserved.
“To you, brothers. Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo.” Chief Vincent paused. “Last name?”
The guys all glanced her way, and April didn’t care if her eyes were a little watery at Leo’s answer. “O’Neil.”
okay.... we all see fic and headcanons in which splinter is laughing, slightly shaking his head at the boys’ shananigans (did i spell that right? oh well not the point🤭) but have we ever seen a time where Splinter is hats off mad at them? like yelling, etc. big mad? i wanna see that tho. low key
((It’s shenanigans, you were close!! I’ll let that pass ‘cause you’RE CUTE 💜 Also heck yeah I love this idea. Let Splinter be a proper dad 👏))
At first it started because Leo and Raph were having The Argument ™ .
That kind of argument that has them raising their voices over time and keeps bringing attention.
Of course Mikey tries to shift their attention by chiding in with some comments - trying to be quirky.
Then cue Donnie throwing crumpled paper balls at the orange clad terrapin in order to shut him up.
Basically it becomes hell.
And Splinter has a hard time meditating…. which is a big no-no.
He approaches the scene, watching for a moment.
How to know he’s mad? Ears are lowered, eyes are squinting, his tail wags in an irritated pattern.
Donnie is the first one to spot him and the tall turtle automatically reads his father’s posture and knows shit is about to go down.
At first he tries to cut his brothers and make them shut the hell up. “Uhm- uh. Guys- uh…”
Doesnt work. Wave the white flag.
He tries to sneak away, but no one can escape the wrath.
“Oh no, you stay where you are,” starts Splinter, pointing Donatello.
Everyone freezes, the rat’s voice booming and echoing through the Lair.
“You babbling, bumbling band of BABOONS!” “What did I raise? CAVEMEN?” “Guess it’s time to clean this house. The trash gets picked up tomorrow. Be ready.”
Oh he is DONE. Why is it so hard to get one peaceful afternoon?
Leo and Raph? Stop acting like little kids. Own up your mistakes and grow. Talk it out instead of unleashing this rage, or whatever this is, as if any of you could win any sort of authority.
Mikey? Don’t feed the fire. Make it stop or let it die. You’re just an accomplice at that point and it’s unecessary!
Donnie? First of all; you better pick up all those paper balls or so help me. Then maybe you can pick back up that brain you lost somewhere.
Okay, first of all, it felt good to vent that out. But then Splinter sees the look on their faces and right there he knows he’s no better.
Yeah, ok, sometimes they’re annoying, and loud, and obnoxious, … but it’s best not to forget that they have still yet to learn a lot about things in life.
Leo tries his best to apologize for their behaviors, but is quickly stopped by the rat.
“Let’s all sit together and share a cup of tea, shall we?”
Follows a lenghty lecture about better ways to resolve issues, the guys’ gazes lowered on their drinks, feeling small during the whole thing.
Splinter can’t lie: he loves his doofus sons anyway.
BUT NEXT TIME IT’S THE HASHI!
pilot 1x1 - "The One with The Manny, The French Maid and The Boss"
Intro written by the lovely C. @cgg3913
[A chaotic AU where Harry is a white wine socialite housewife and part time model, Louis is still a millionaire, chart-topping musician, Niall is their Manny, Liam’s their hot-beyond-all-reason personal trainer and Zayn is a model/photographer and full time slutty little nightmare person!]
When he was fifteen, Harry Styles had fallen hopelessly and madly in love. And truth be told, he had never fully recovered. It didn’t matter that Louis was two years older and in no way interested in being “out” while still in school.
When Louis had turned 18, he went to audition for X-Factor. And he made it through, which had meant moving to the judges’ houses and leaving Harry behind. They’d then grown up separately, Harry graduating and moving to London to pursue his now shockingly successful modeling career. Louis had gone on to be immensely famous and Harry would see him on TMZ and in tabloids, rubbing elbows with female underwear models he knew from work and actresses and singers, always playing the role of the prolific womanizer and yet - somehow - the private and sensitive songwriter who didn’t like to discuss his private life.
Louis had just turned twenty-one when the bombshell dropped; he was a father. Harry could remember physically feeling his heart break as he read the headlines.
A girl from Scotland had been killed in a car crash, beautiful and tall with curly hair so brown it was almost black. Stunning with green eyes. And she had left behind a two year old son, whose birth certificate touted famous British musician Louis Tomlinson as his father.
According to the tabloids, he’d had no idea. They’d dated for a bit before he even officially won X-Factor, her role having simply been a girl working in the wardrobe department. In high school, Louis had always been defiant in his insistence that he was not gay. Perhaps, Harry thought upon seeing the photos of Louis suddenly out and about with his brand new toddler, this was true. The child, named Deacon, looked just like Louis.
Shimmering blue eyes, a mischievous little smile and perpetually unkempt brown hair sticking in every direction. It had to be his kid. Maybe Harry was just a phase, a teenage experiment.
It wasn’t until some industry party six years ago, when Harry had watched as his fellow supermodel and part time photographer, Zayn, had waltzed past with a famous Donny singer on his arm, that Harry had seen Louis again for the first time in forever. He was here. Based on his behavior with Zayn, he definitely wasn’t straight. And yet, he left the party with Harry and the two had never looked back.
Time had passed so quickly: dating, moving in together with Louis’s son, getting engaged, having Harry’s daughter via the world’s most amazing surrogate - and their wedding.
Their fifth anniversary coincided with their daughter Toby’s birth, the husbands having received the news that their surrogate was in labor while furiously making out in they newlywed limo.
She’d been born six weeks early, the new husbands exchanging their opulent honeymoon suite, champagne and room service for NICU visits and consultations with doctors and nurses. But she was five now and perfectly fine - Harry’s immaculate October Moonbeam Tomlinson - or, as Louis preferred, Toby Luna. Named after the moment they’d discovered their surrogate was officially “pregnant.” Harry and Louis intoxicated in their Halloween costumes, crying and waking up their four-year-old son to tell him he was going to be a big brother and having family ice cream in the kitchen at midnight. Their skylight sending streams of moonlight into the room, solidifying everything.
And since then, everything had been almost perfect, even now as Harry slid into a bath, mentally preparing for tomorrow. He would be dropping Toby off at his mother’s house for a week-long stay, coinciding with Deacon’s second trip to summer camp. After Anne’s week was up, Toby would stay with Jay for a week as well before returning back to the husbands.
They would have two weeks of kid-free debauchery once the sun went down tomorrow - and Harry couldn’t wait.
2016Turtles x Mother!Reader
A/N: The reader finds four little turtles, and decides to take them home and care for them. This might be alittle long, Enjoys!
💙Leo:5
💗Raph:5
💜Donnie:5
💛Mikey:4
You were walking home from a long exhausted day at work, suddenly stopping when you heard a baby cry. You've heard babies crying all the time, for you worked at a daycare, but this babies cry didn't sound normal, it sounded as if it was in distress.
Thinking it was your imagination, you kept walking until you heard it again. A couple ally ways later, you walked up to a little box hidden in a dark corner and removed a little dirty blanket.
You gasped, seeing four little hymoniod turtles, three of them holding the smallest one that was crying. They looked like toddlers but if they were turtles. They cowered away from you, the oldest looking one frowning at you.
You sat down on your knees, not caring about the filthy ground. You gave them a smile, "I won't hurt you, are you hungry?"
The smallest one perked up, and wiggled its way out of the oldest ones arms, walking over to you, he looked up at you with bright baby blue eyes.
You teared up, these little creatures were just to precious. You took off your coat, and wrapped it around the four. "Where are your parents?" you asked them, they all looked down.
The smallest one started to cry again. You scooped him up, rocking him back and forth.
"Don't cry little one, would you like to come home with me?" you asked him, all of them.
The oldest one smacked your leg. "No! No! No!" he yelled, pointing to the small turtle then you.
The smallest one made a purr like noise, then pointed up to you with a big smile, snuggling into your chest. They all looked at eachother, you could tell the age difference in all of them. The tallest one looking younger then the two shorter ones, but not as young as the one you held. The second tallest one huffed, and puffed out his chest to look bigger.
You noticed the tallest turtle was stumbling over his feet, squinting to look at you. His glasses were broken, and smudged.
Dirty clothes, and no shoes. You set the little one down, reached into your bag pulling out your pair of reading glasses.
You gently took the broken glasses off the tallest turtle, and put the new ones on him. He blinked a few times, smiles big and made a high pitched purr sound. Jumping up and down, he showed his siblings then looked up at you. You placed a hand on his little scaly cheek, he leaned into your touch, purring.
"Come with me?" they seemed to agree this time, seeming you to be safe. You wrapped them up in your coat, laughing at the noises they were making. Giggling at eachother, smacking eachother and even pulling at their clothes.
Once you reached your home, you set them down on your couch. "Stay right here okay? Im going to go get you some clothes" you headed to your bedroom, pulling out a couple shirts and shorts you kept for your little nephew when he came by. You came back and they were gone. You gasped, and frantically looked around.
"Babies? Babies! Where'd you go?" you then heard a giggle come from your kitchen. You walked to your kitchen to see the smallest one on your counter. You caught him just before he fell.
You then realized you hadn't known their names. "What is your name little one?" he smiled up at you.
"Michealangilo" he giggled, you awed at him. "That is a beautiful name, can I call you Mikey?" he nodded. You set him down, "go find your brothers, I'll order some pizza before giving you guys a bath and changing your clothes okay?" he seemed to know what pizza was, because he went running after his siblings yelling the word "pissa!"
You ordered a couple pizza's and a box of brownies.
You giggled, watching Mikey drag his older brother into the kitchen. The tallest one with glasses. You bent down to his size.
"What is your name little one?" he looked down, fiddling with his hands before shyly saying "Donatello" you smiled at him, "Thats a very beautiful name Donatello, is Donnie your nickname?" he nodded. "Will you help Mikey find your other brothers?" he nodded, running with Mikey to find his siblings.
By the time you put apple juice in four sippy cups, all four little turtles were in your kitchen. You handed Mikey and Donnie theirs, looking at the other two, you gave them a gentle smile.
"What are your names sweet peas?" the oldest one huffed, "Leonardo, this is Raphael" he said, but he said it very slowly. You smiled, and patted Raphael's head. "You all have such beautiful names, my names Y/N" you said, handing them their cups.
They all sipped happily at their apple juice. You scooped up Donnie and Mikey. "Come on, lets give you a bath and put some clean clothes on you before pizza gets here"
The bath part wasn't as easy. You put two in at a time. Leo and Raph first, but then had to switch out for Donnie and Leo because Raph was trying to drown Leo.
Once you got them cleaned, you wrapped them both in a towel, telling them to sit on your bed and wait for you. They nodded, and you called the other two. Mikey splashed water at you, and tried to wash your face. He made himself a beard with bubbles and giggled when you did the same. You even got Raph to giggle to.
Four squeaky clean turtles tots later, you dried them all off and put clothes on them.
You had some difficulty with the clothes, your nephew didn't have a shell on his back which meant the clothes were a bit to small. The pants fit okay, it was the shirts you had a problem with. "Hmm, hold on" you went and grabbed four of your t-shirts. You pulled it over Leo's head, ripping the side a bit to make two strings, then tying the strings together. He sighed happily, and hugged himself. You did the same to the other three.
You turned the TV on, putting on a children's movie for them. They all sat as close as they could to the TV, watching ever move the screen made. You chuckled, then hearing someone knock on the door.
They all panicked and hid behind the couch. "Its just the pizza man" you answered the door, a man holding 3 pizza boxes and a small box of brownies on top. You payed for the pizza's, thanking him while handing him a tip.
He nodded, and walked back to his car. You closed the door, locking it before going to the kitchen to get paper plates.
You came back into the living room, they were all sitting around your coffee table, basically eyeing every move you made with the pizza boxes. You chuckled, and handed them plates.
"Cheese or pepperoni?" They shrugged, and made grabby hands for the food. You smiled and put one of each on their plates before grabbing a slice yourself.
Mikey finished his, almost not even before you got the first bite of yours. He held out his plate to you.
"More!" you smiled, "what's the magic word?" he tilted his head to the side. "More?" Leo wiped his mouth and whispered in his brothers ear. Mikey made an "o" with his mouth. "More please!" you chuckled and put two more slices on his plate, patting his head. "Good job"
Raph looked at his empty plate then at you, he frowned. "Want some more buddy?" he looked down, then nodded. You smiled, and petted his head, placing two more slices on his plate. He smiles and devours the pieces. You placed two more slices on Leo's and Donnie's plate.
They finished the two pizza boxes on their own, leaving a box half full for later. "Who wants sweets?" they looked at eachother. "Sweets?" Donnie asked. You smiled and gave them each a brownie. "Its called a brownie, its a baked chocolate treat"
Mikey didn't even smell it first, he just put the whole thing in his mouth, his eyes lit up and he giggled happily. "Its good!" the other three brothers took a bite of theirs, having the same reaction. You gave them another one, but told them they could have some more tomorrow when they asked for more.
You cleaned up the living room, taking their sippy cups and filling them with milk. They all snuggled up against you when you sat on the couch. Mikey in your lap, Leo under your left arm, Donnie under your right and Raph's head on your thigh.
"Thank you miss Y/N" Leo said slowly, snuggling in your side. You smiled, and kissed each of their heads. "My babies"
A month or so passed, and you enjoyed every moment you had with the boys. You owned a house out of town that had plenty of land for them to play and swim in the lake. You sat in your porch swing, Leo next you reading a book when Mikey ran up to you with a flower in his hand, holding it out to you. "Here mama!" You smiled at him, and kissed his green forehead. "Thank you Mikey" he beamed you a smile before running to play with his brothers. You looked down at Leo, you tickled his nose. He huffed and turned on his side. You did it again, giggling when he glared at you. "Stop it mama, im at a good part" you raised your hands in defense "alright, ya got me there"
"MAMA!!" you heard Donnie yell, he was running towards you holding his head and crying. You got off your swing, and onto your knees, scooping the tall toddler in your arms.
"What's wrong my little tortuga?" you said softly, holding him. He sniffled and pointed to Raph. "Raph hit me on the head because I took my car back from him!" he cried, and sniffled in your shoulder. "Awe, let me see sweet pea"
You took his face in your hands, examining his head. You kissed his head, and wiped away his tears. "No harm done little one, everything is alright" you kissed his head again. "Where is Raphael?" he pointed to your small tool shed.
You stood up, brushing yourself off and walked to the shed, opening the door you saw Raph hidden in the corner. He was crying, and hugging his knees to his chest. You scooped him up, but he hit you in the face.
You grabbed his wrist gently, and just looked at him. His angered look slowly faded to a guilty one. "I-Im sorry m-mama" he stammered. You sighed, and hugged him close. "Its okay sweet pea, you have to learn that hitting others is not always the way to fix things" he cried in your chest, you stood and rocked him back and forth as you walked back to the house.
You sat down on the steps of your porch, Donnie and Raph on either side of you. "Raphael, don't you think you should apologize to Donatello?" Raph looked at you, then at Donnie.
He sniffled, and wrapped his brother in a hug. Donnie hugged him back, and smiled. "Its okay Raph, I forgive you" Raph pulled away, then held onto your arm. Donnie held out his hand to him, "come on! Lets go finish our game!" he said, Raph smiled and followed his brother.
Later that night at dinner, you told them that you guys had to go back to the city for a few days, so that you can check on your apartment and get some supplies and groceries.
The next morning, you were driving back to the city, and in your apartment before 12 hit. You told them that you'll be back in an hour, not to answer the door for anyone. They already knew that.
When you came back, and they weren't there it felt as if your heart was ripped into two. You searched for days on end. Calling their names. But no signs of them. If only you hadn't left them alone for so long, maybe they'd still be here, with you. You've never cried harder in your life.
13 years later
"Y/N. Y/N?" April snapped her fingers together infront of your face. She looked concerned. "You okay sweetie?" Today was the anniversary you had found those little turtles 13 years ago, you missed them everyday. You gave her a fake smile. "Yeah, just spaced out" she smiled at you. "You sure you want to help me with the vigilante case?" She asked, you nodded. "Of course"
You were in her apartment, waiting for her to come back with coffee when she came bursting through the door. She dropped the coffee quickly on the table before running towards her bedroom closet.
"April? April? What's wrong? What happened?" She didn't say anything, she kept digging through her closet until she found a box.
"The vigilantes, there's not one but four" your heart dropped a bit. "Four?" she nodded, she then pulled out a camera. She filled around, finding some tapes.
She placed one in the camera watching a tiny April on the screen. You sighed, and went to pick up your coffee, when four very similar names where heard from the cameras speaker.
You dropped your coffee, not caring that it spilled. "April, replay that again" she arched an eyebrow, but played it back again. You spun towards her, "the turtles" you whispered. Her eyed widened. "You know them?"
You fell to your knees, burying your face into your hands, sobbing tears of joy. "My babies are alive, my babies" April was confused, you finally told her about the four turtles you found that night, taking care of them for so long, basically they were like you kids.
They were your babies. You told her the memory's you had of chasing away Mikey's nightmares, helping Leo read, teaching Donnie how to build simple objects, and helping Raph control his anger. You even told her about the first time he hit you, and how sad he looked right after he had done it. She hugged you, telling you that she promises that you'll see them again.
After a few days, you felt more relaxed then you've felt in such a long time. Not only are your babies alive, but they protect New York City. Your just waiting for he day to see them again.
April came to your place crying, she got fired from her job, trying to tell her boss about the turtles. You hugged her, and fixed you both some tea. You knew she wouldn't give up on the story, especially when she asked to use your laptop.
While you were in the kitchen, April ran in there. "They contacted me" she said. You looked at her. "Im going with you" Your heart raced, you finally get to see your boys again. "They said to come alone" Your heart then dropped.
"I need to see them again, please April" you pleaded to her. "Its driving me crazy, I need to know if their stable, if they have food, clothes, a place to sleep. Please April, they're my babies"
April thought about it for a moment, then sighed. "Okay" you smiled and hugged her tight, crying into her shoulder. "Thank you"
You sat on the fire escape, April on the roof. Waiting for them to show up. "Okay!" she yelled, "I'm here, and I'm alone"
Four loud thumps on the roof indicated that they had arrived. You peeked up and almost choked on your breath. Your urge to rush up and hug them took over as you jumped up on the roof.
You called their names, and they froze. April looked at them, and she knew they all reconzied the voice immediately, but didn't move. She quietly and quickly stepped to the side. Knowing how much it hurts to have lost your mother.
Mikey was the first to move, he turned around. "M-Mama?" he said, when he saw you, he broke. He dropped his weapons and ran towards you. Hugging you tightly he cried into your hair. "Mama, mama, mama" he repeated, "is it really you mama?"
You kissed his cheek, pulling away to look at him. You smiled, and wiped away his tears. "My little tortuga" This made him cry harder, he fell to his knees, hugging you closer as he buried his face in your chest. "Mama" he whimpered. You made him look at you, you kissed his forehead. You gave him a smile. "Im so proud of you"
You look up at the others, smiling as they dropped their weapons. Raph stole you away from Mikey, also having to sit on his knees to bury his face in your shoulder. "Mama" his voice was gruff, but sounded young as it choked with a sob. You then noticed the different color clad bandanas they wore. Mikey's was orange. Raph's was red. Leo's was blue. Donnie's was purple. Donnie was the next to steal you away. He cried and rubbed his forehead against yours, something he'd do if he was upset. "M-Mama" you shush him quietly, kissing his forehead. Wiping away his tears. "No harm done sweet pea" you gently take his glasses, cleaning them for him and then slipping them back on his nose.
"Mama" You turned to see Leo bent on one knee, his head down but you could see little water droplets fall onto the ground beneath him. "Leonardo" he broke at the sound of his name. He tried to control himself around you, but couldn't. He ran towards you and held you in a tight but gently hug. Your feet not touching the ground. He cried and sobbed into your shoulder. "Mama" he whimpered.
You stroked the back of his head, kissing his cheek. "Its okay, I'm okay sweet pea" you pulled away, but still kept him at arms length. "Im so proud of you, of all of you"
He set you back down your feet. They were all still crying. You wiped each other tears away. Now it was your time to scold them.
You looked over at April, who was crying. She waved you off, wiping her eyes. You turned back to the boys.
"Don't you ever scare me like that again!" you whisper yelled, "Do you have any idea how scared I was? I thought something happened to you. Where'd you go? Did you not like me anymore?"
All at that the same time they yelled no.
Leo sighed, taking your now small hand into his large one. "Its better to show you"
They took you to their home in sewers. You were awed, your babies had grown so much. Their home was beautiful. "Mama! Let me show you around!" Mikey said, slipping an arm around your waist. Leo stole you away from him. "Not yet Mikey" he said.
Then you met him. The man, or rat, that called your babies, his sons. At first it made your motherly instincts kicked in, but then you also remembered that he gave them a life that she couldn't. He made them who they are today.
He introduced himself as Splinter. Their sensei, he also apologized.
"Miss Y/N, I did not mean to steal your children away, although in all fairness, they were mine first" he beamed you a smile. You laughed and hugged the old rat. "But I'll always be their mama" you said, smiling. Splinter nodded. "I can't deny you of that"
Mikey showed you around, offering you an orange crush forgetting that you didn't like soda. He laughed, and asked if you wanted tea, but then froze and started panicking because he doesn't know how to make it.
Donnie showed you all the inventions he's made. Showing you how to use them. He even measured your wrist, so he can make you a watch to make sure your alright at all times.
Raph showed you how strong he's become over the years. He lifted you like a weight. You laughed, and told him to put his mother down. He chuckled, and just held you for awhile. You smiled, holding him for as long as he needed to.
Leo showed you his katanas. Showing you how he can use them, how he fights with them. He then got on one knee infront of you, taking your hand in his. "I'll always protect you Mother, for now and always you'll never be in danger, for as along as I'm alive"
You kissed his head, "i don't doubt it my little tortuga"
💙 "Stay away from my mother, or face the horrible consequences that follow if you do!"
💗"I swear to god if you touch my mama I'll fucking kill you!"
💜"You touch my mama, and i will leave nothing left of your body"
💛"Touch my mama and see what happens, you ain't gonna like it"
Through thick and thin, part 4
Eventual X rating
When the sun came up, Dee went and got breakfast for everyone. She knew they wouldn't eat unless she brought them something. She handed out the McDonalds bags and then wandered into Raph’s room where Donnie was already awake. He was bent forward, his elbows on his knees and his chin resting in his folded hands as he watched the rise and fall of his brother’s chest.
“Did you sleep at all?” She asked quietly as she handed him a cup of coffee and the bag holding the sausage, egg, and biscuit breakfast.
“Some.” He answered before taking a swig of the coffee.
“Any change?” She asked.
“His breathing has gotten progressively stronger.” Donnie answered. “His blood pressure and heartbeat are back to normal. I'm worried when he wakes up he’ll try to roll and he’ll pop the stitches in his arm.”
“Is that why you’re so adamant about staying with him?” She asked.
“The humans won't be strong enough to keep him still. Even if they were, he might fight them. Anesthesia is very disorienting at times. Not to mention whatever side effects the pain Meds and the lingering effects of the venom or anti-venom in his system. We really just don't know what to expect.” He answered.
“You’re right.” She said. “Guess we can just stay here and wait then.” She slid down to sit on the floor against the wall. She pulled out her own pancakes and orange juice and ate while Donnie switched between watching Raph and watching her.
Towards the evening, Raph started waking up. Donnie hovered over him as his eyes opened but he was definitely exhibiting traits of someone coming out of anesthesia. He sounded drunk and Donnie had to make sure he didn't try and use his arm. Splinter and Mikey and Leo came and checked in on him but didn't stick around long. Once they saw he was doing just fine and Donnie assured them he wasn't going anywhere, hey took off to finish up the business they had started the day before. One of the police officers came in, a tall and curvy Latina woman by the name of Shannon.
“Heyyyyy.” Raph chuckled.
“How’s my battle buddy?” She asked.
“I feel great.” He grinned. “Even better now that you’re here.” Dee watched in amazement as he actually winked at her. Boy had been watching too many movies. Shannon just laughed.
“You’re a flirty drunk aren't you?” She giggled.
“Only with you.” He said.
“I have a hard time believing that.” Shannon said. “What about this pretty girl who’s been in your room all day?”
His eyes searched he room and landed on Dee. “Dee! Yer here!” He said as if he hadn't seen her though she had talked to him when he had first woken up. He turned back to Shannon. “She’s like, my sister or somethin’.” He said.
Dee couldn't help but crack a smile. How often did brothers offer to share a shower with their sisters?
“Oh yeah. I can see the family resemblance.” Shannon grinned and Raph chuckled.
“Yer a funny girl. I like that. You should go on a date with me sometime.”
Dee flinched internally, wondering what Shannon’s reaction would be. To her surprise, the woman squeezed his hand and answered with a soft smile. “Why don't you ask me again when you sober up. That is, if you’re brave enough. I’ll stop by tomorrow morning. How does that sound?”
“Sounds good.” Raph mumbled. “I am pretty tired.”
“Get some rest. I’ll see you tomorrow.” She promised. He nodded and closed his eyes and Shannon went to leave. Dee followed her out.
“So how do you know Raph?” She asked
“We get partnered up a lot when the turtles work with us. He doesn't work as well with guys apparently.” She answered.
“Yeah, he’s too combative with a lot of men.” Dee agreed. “Do you think he’ll remember asking you out?”
“I plan on reminding him when I see him tomorrow.” She grinned. “I catch him staring all the time. It's about time he said something.”
Dee eyes the woman suspiciously. “Are you going to take him up on his offer?” She wanted for the look that told her she was crazy because what kind of normal human would find them attractive? Dee thought they were handsome but she had lived with them on and off for nearly a decade.
“Why not? He’s a good guy as far as I can tell.” She answered.
“But you find him attractive?” She asked.
“It took a while to get used to their looks but yeah. Why, is that weird to you?” She asked.
“No. I just figured I was the only one.” She thought.
“Aren't you supposed to be like their sister?” Shannon asked, a little weirded out.
“Childhood friends.” She corrected. “I have managed to kiss all four of them over the years.”
“Were they any good?” She asked, a wicked smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
“We were teenagers. They had never kissed anyone before. No, they were not very good.” Dee laughed. “They got better though. With a little practice.”
“Isn't it weird for you guys now?” She asked. “I mean don't hey know they’ve all kissed you?”
“They didn't have much for options back then. They were more curious than anything so they were fine with it. It never turned into anything anyway.” She answered.
“Have they had any other girlfriends?” She asked.
“Not that I'm aware of.” Dee replied.
“Well maybe I can teach him a thing or two.” She said, grabbing her keys and sunglasses off of the counter. “I’ll see you tomorrow if you’re around.”
“Oh I will be.” She smiled as Shannon headed for the door.
Dee was indeed there when Shannon returned the next morning after the dressing on Raph’s wound had been changed. He was feeling a little worse for the wear now that most of the drugs had worn off. His eyes lit right up when Shannon walked into the room in jeans and a tank top that accented her gorgeous curves. Dee could see why Raph made a hobby of staring at her.
“How ya feeling big guy?” She asked.
“I been better.” He answered. “But I been worse too. I guess I can't complain too much.”
Dee rolled her eyes. He had certainly been complaining all morning. The foot was too bland, his arm hurt, it was too cold in there, yada yada yada.
“Do you remember seeing me yesterday when you woke up?” She asked with a devilish smile on her face.
Raph shot a glance at Donnie, wondering why his brother hadn't mentioned it. Donnie was grinning like the cat who got the canary. “Not really. I hear I was pretty out of it.”
“You asked me on a date, Don’t you remember?” She asked.
“Uh, no.” Raph said. He was looking like a deer in the headlights.
“Aww really? I was hoping you were serious.” She said, still grinning like a maniac.
His face transformed from embarrassed to shock in an instant. “Really?” He asked.
“Yeah. I’ll tell you what. You get better and then you can take me on a date. Cool?”
Raph nodded, still dumbfounded. “Uh, yeah. Great.”
“Awesome. I have a thing to get to. I’ll catch you later okay?” She said.
“Yeah. Later.” He answered as she turned to leave. They sat in silence for a minute after she left the room.
“What the fuck.” Raph said, looking wide eyed at Donnie and Dee.
Dee laughed and Donnie chuckled along. “You asked her out when you were high on Meds yesterday and I guess she took you seriously. Why, don't you want to go out with her?” Donnie asked.
“Well yeah but why would she want to go out with me?” He asked. “Is she blind?”
“Oh shut up Raph.” Dee said. “Just because you guys are different doesn't mean you aren't attractive.”
“Do you think we’re attractive?” Raph smirked at her.
“You’re a good looking group of guys.” She answered. “Why do you think it’s taking me so long to find a boyfriend? No one measures up to you four.”
“Bullshit.” Raph muttered as he shifted. He hissed as his damaged muscles accidentally flexed.
“Relax, Brutus.” Dee chided. “The less you use your arm, the quicker it will heal, and the sooner you can go on your date.”
Raph rolled his eyes but he couldn't stop a grin from spreading across his face. He couldn't believe his luck.
Raphael x Reader
No Idea
Note: Decided to whip up a short little thing for that soulmate submission. Of course, because I’m me and I love soulmate AUs and Raphael, it got a little out of hand lmao.
Warnings: Tons of fluff
Word Count: 799
Raph hadn’t told anyone the words written on his arm. No one. Not a soul…except for Mikey. He had begged and pleaded and whined until the grumpy red-clad turtle caved. There, etched into his forearm since the day the boys had turned fifteen: “You have no idea how long I’ve waited to find you.”
Raph and the rest of his brothers hadn’t expected to have soulmates at all, so every night before he went to bed, Raph laid awake for a while, one of his large fingers gently stroking the words that would change his life one day. Sure, he was a giant freak, but maybe someday his soulmate wouldn’t think so.
And then Raph would scold himself for such wishful thinking and go to sleep.
Months passed.
Leo had met his soulmate, a police officer’s daughter, on accident at the station one day. Mikey’s soulmate did awesome street art with nothing more than spray paint and raw talent. Donnie’s soulmate was a writer who happened to be taking out the trash at the right time. And Raph was beginning to lose hope.
And then it happened.
***
You had been up in your room listening to music and laying on your bed when you felt that feeling in your chest. It was tight and hard to breathe and your heart was racing and you knew that your soulmate, whoever they were, they were close.
You pulled on your shoes and climbed out onto the fire escape, figuring you could get a better view from the roof. And boy, were you right? Four giant…things…were out there talking. Wait, you recognized them. These were the heroes of New York. The ones that had fought the aliens and saved your life.
“Shhh, listen. There’s someone here.” Said the one in the blue mask.
“Scans indicate…a human at the top of the fire escape.” They all looked over at you, so you ducked down, fingers shaking.
“Ya…ya don’t gotta be afraid. We ain’t gonna hurt you.” Your eyes widened, heart about to leap out of your chest and run down the street. Those were the same words etched into your arm.
Slowly, you crept out of your spot, tears forming in your eyes as you approached the tall strangers. You looked at each of them and then your eyes settled on the one with the red mask. He had said it. You were sure of it. He looked down at you uncertainly.
There were a few moments of silence. You stepped closer yet, almost close enough to touch him.
“You have no idea how long I’ve waited to find you.”
***
There was another patch of silence. Raph was in shock, too shocked to move, and Mikey…Mikey was silently screaming. And then it wasn’t so silent. Leo and Donnie had no clue what was happening whatsoever.
“EEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeee,” He waved his fists excitedly. “Raph, she said it-”
“I-I know what she said.” Raph shoved his brother aside.
“C-can I just…could I…would it be alright if I hugged you?” you asked timidly.
“Yes! I mean, yeah, that’d be fine, yeah…” Raph’s cheeks were as red as his mask. He carefully took your smaller form into his strong arms, his face burying itself in the crook of your neck. A huge wave of relief washed over him. You were here. You were real. You were in his arms, and he never wanted to let go of you.
“What’s happening here?” Leo asked. He looked to Mikey, who was still squealing. “Is that Raph’s-?”
“It’s his SOULMATE!!” Mikey shouted.
“Quiet!” Leo hissed.
“Sorry.”
You were still wrapped up in Raphael’s arms, tears running down your cheeks. The feeling was overwhelming. It was like fire in your veins, but it was the best feeling on the planet. It was like you were flying and falling at the same time. You held onto him tighter than you had ever held anyone.
“It’s nice ta finally meet ya.” Raph whispered. He chuckled softly when he felt you nod against him.
“Yeah. You too.” Your voice was thick with tears, so he pulled away to look at you. You were crying.”
“What’s wrong?”
“These are happy tears,” You laughed, reaching up to wipe them away with your fingers. “I’m just overwhelmed is all.”
“Me too,” he whispered, finally taking in your features. God, had gotten lucky. You were gorgeous. One of his large fingers gently stroked your cheek. He brushed the hairs out of the front of your face. “Yer beautiful.”
“Thanks,” you blushed. “Oh my God, I don’t even know your name.”
“It’s Raphael,”
“(Y/N),” you told him.
“Raph, we have to-”
“Yeah, yeah,” Raph batted one of his large hands at his older brother. “I’m coming, Leo.” He looked down at you. “I’ll meet you here tomorrow, alright?”
“Can’t wait.”
Hints
Fandom: teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Characters: Raph, Leo, Donnie, Mikey Relationship: Raph/reader Request: Hey i would like to request a tmnt fanfic (2014/2016) where the reader is talking to the turtles about relationship issues, and subtlety tries to hint at having had a previous crush on Raph, but then mentions having moved on from a lack of response, and Ralph is clueless but the brothers explain to him and fluff ensues. I totally get it if this is to long or something,I love your work! “No, I’d never date a guy who ive never met before.” You giggled as Mikey followed you around the lair. “Why not?” he asked and you saw Donnie and Raph turn to get an answer. “Because, I don’t know what they would be like. I would like to meet someone a couple of times before deciding if I was attracted to them.” You shrugged as you plopped yourself down on the couch with Leo to your right. Donnie was on the other couch with Raph and Leo was training with Splinter in the other room. “why are you suddenly so interested in my love life?” You asked Mikey, who had been asking you questions all day. “Dunno, just wanted to know. So, you got any crushes?” He walked up and sat down at your feet, nudging your knee with his elbow. “I don’t think thats really any of your business.” You teased, slapping the back of his head but that didn’t hid the growing blush on your cheeks. In truth, the one you had a crush on was only sitting at the other side of the room. And he was watching you. Closely. “Ohhh! So you do have a crush!” Mikey cooed and you knew you were never going to hear the end of this. “it doesn’t matter, Mikey. Nothings ever going to happen!” You shook your head as you spoke, wanting this all to stop right now. “Aw, why not?” Mikey frowned and turned to fully face you. He was very sweet and really only wanted you to be happy. Mikey had always taken to be a big brother to you. Mainly because he had always been considered the baby of the group so it was nice for him to take on that role as protector just like the others had. But he was a little more ‘playful’. “I don’t think they would have ever noticed how I felt. Nor would he return my feelings. So I need to try and, you know, move on. Its just proving to be a little harder than I thought.” You tried to smile but everyone saw the flash of pain in your eyes. It wasn’t because you were saying it out loud, even though they might think that. It was because you were saying it in front of him. And you knew it was more than a crush. You were completely and utterly in love with raph and had been for a while. But he never seemed to notice how much you cared for him or the things you would do just to try make him happy. Just then, Leo walked into the room, only adding to the sudden tension. “I gotta go back to mine. Ive got work in the morning.” You lied through your teeth, knowing you were off tomorrow but you just wanted to get away from all the prying eyes which you refused to meet. Apart from one. You glanced up at Raph, who was studying you with a confused expression. And that gave everything away. Donnie saw it. Mikey saw it. Leo saw it. Standing up, rather suddenly, you darted for the door, grabbed your bag and left, leaving a stunned silence behind you. “What happened?” Leo asked as you walked to stand behind where Raph and Donnie were sitting. “We were asking about [y/n]s crush.” Mikey turned to look at Leo, confused as to your sudden change of mood. You had been laughing only a moment ago and joking around. “Did she say about her little thing for Raph?” leo asked, as confused as Mikey and the others to your sudden change in demeaner. But Leo saw Mikeys eyes widen and Donnie and Raph twist in their seats. He instantly knew he had just said something he shouldn’t have. “Whats that meant to mean?” Raph half growled, almost taking it as in insults or a joke. All 3 of the brothers fell silent, obviously mulling over whether or not to say anything, until Mikey spoke up. “We might as well tell him. Its upsetting [y/n] either way.” Mikey said, surprisingly being extremely reasonable which made Leo proud. If there was one thing Leo praised you for over everything else, it was how you brought out the best in each and every one of them. “What are you talking about?” Raph looked from Mikey to Donnie. “We were surprised you never noticed.” Donnie shrugged, avoiding Raphs eyes. “If someone doesn’t tell me whats going on, im gonna-“ Raph didn’t get a chance to finish his insult as Leo snapped. “For god sake. Shes in love with you!” He walked over to sit next to where you had been seated a few minutes ago. He half expected his brother to become even more infuriated with the situation because he wouldn’t believe it. But much to Leos surprise, Raph froze, staring at Leo. After a few moments, Raph glanced to the door you had just left through and shook his head. “She aint ever going to love me.” Raph sighed, pushing himself up, suddenly understand why you left so quickly. While you adored his brothers, it was hard to sit in front of them and speak of love. “Yeah she does!” Mikey snapped, obviously offended by both Raph dismissing Leo and dismissing you. “How would you know!” Raph growled. “cause I do!” Mikey crossed his arms, not at all intimidated by his brother. “She really does. Anyone can see it.” Donnie mumbled, not wanting to get involved but he couldn’t help himself. “Shes always following you around, she goes out her way to see you and make you happy.” He shrugged as he spoke. “She does that for all of us!” Raph turned to Donnie, never thinking anything of it. “You know what, Raph. You’re right. We’re all wrong. But can you risk that?” Leo walked over to Raph, standing tall against his brother. “Whats that meant to mean?” Raph turned to Leo, repeating himself from earlier. “If shes talking about you, then shes trying to move on. Shes fed up waiting. What happens if she gets a boyfriend in a couple of days, weeks or months? You think you could live with yourself? Wondering who she was speaking about? We all know you care the exact same about her as she does you. You got to speak to her, before you lose her.” Leo finished. For the first time in a long time, Raph listened to Leo. Not just heard what he said, but actually listened to him. Without a word, Raph turned and walked out the lair in a hurry. None of the brothers had to questions where he was going. --------------------time skip -------------------------- You walked through the sewers, your feet were almost as heavy as your heart. Why had you said that in front of him? A part of you hoped he would understand you were speaking about him, but the other part said it was because you knew you needed to move on. You stopped, hearing footsteps approaching you from behind. Years of training with the turtles had taught you to be on your toes and suspect everything. But as Raph came into view, you physically relaxed. He was staring at the ground in front of him as he walked and looked like he was deep in thought. “Raph?” You called out, noticing he hadn’t seen you just yet and you didn’t want to startle him. Upon hearing your voice, Raph jumped slightly and looked up. “[y/n].” Raph smile slightly and sped up until he was closer. “You alright?” “Yeah, im just tired.” You smiled, almost tempted to yawn but decided that would be too cliché. “Right.” Was all he replied, looking down. You just assumed he had come after you to make sure you were okay. “Well, I’ll er see you later.” You prompted, hoping to get away from the situation. “Yeah.” Once again, you got a one word answer. Turning away from Raph, you started to walk away, noticing how he didn’t follow. “What if he felt the same way about you?” Raphs voice made you freeze before you turned and looked at him in utter confusion. “What?” You asked. “the one you were speaking about.” Raph answered, but that didn’t really answer the question you were asking. “Raph, I don’t understand what you’re saying.” You walked back to him, hoping that the closer you were, the more answers you would get. “What if he loved you more than he could ever dare tell you?” Raph looked up at you as you stood in front of him. your breath caught in your throat as you started up at Raph. Was he talking about you and him? “Then why not say anything before?” You asked, not daring to break his eye contact for fear of him taking it as rejection. “I don’t want to lose you.” Raph was hunched over slightly as you stood directly in front of him. “just say the word and im yours.” Was all you could say, hoping you were both talking about the same thing. But Raph couldn’t take any more. He ducked his head down and pressed his soft lips to yours in a sweet but unexpected kiss. You quickly responded and placed a hand on either one of his broad shoulders, softly massaging his shoulders as you made out with him. You felt like all of your senses were focused on him. You felt his arms around your waist and he pulled you closer. eventually, the need for air outweighed the pleasure of the kiss and you pulled back a little, panting slightly. “Will you go out with me?” Raph breathed, his voice sending a small chill down your spin. “Only if you will come back to mine?” you smiled, looking up at him through your eyelashes and you knew he was putty in your hands. Smiling, you went up on your tip toes to press a quick kiss to his lips before pulling away. You took a hand of his in your own and the two of you walked back to yours. That night, you got 2 texts from Leo and Mikey that night. Mikey asked if you were okay and Leo apologies if he had caused any trouble between you and Raph. but you didn’t even notice they had messaged you because you were too focused on making up for lost time with Raph.
Tumblr media
"Its gonna get a little weird, A little wild, I'm not from 'round here, I'm from another Dimension. Gonna get a little weird, Gonna have a goood time!!  Gonna have a -whoo-hoo!! I'm talking rainbows, I'm talking puppies! Wha wha Whooo Gonna get a little weird, gonna get a little wild, I aint from around here, I'm from another DIMENSION!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Story time~~~~~~~~~
"Okay so I created this device to Let us see girls." "girls?" raph rose a brow with his arms crossed. "No not just any girls. Our girls. The Girls that match up to our personalities and I guess you could call them our 'mates'." "No..Are you serious!" mikey squealed. "Serious." Donnie pushed up his glasses against the ridge of his nose as he smirked. His Gold frosted eyes looked over at Leo waiting for him to yell at him or scold him but instead "How does it work?" Leo asked curious as he untucked his arm from his crossed arms position. A smile came to Don's face. "well..it kinda scower's the Universe, Dimensions and time just to find our match." "The universe??" Leo's eyes widened a little "well..Actually just our world but in different dimensions too.  I haven't gotten that far. But yea. (he lifted up his invention that looked like a flashlight. He bobbed it back and forth) wanna trryyyy it?" "Absolutely." raph smiled as he took it from Donnie's hand with his left. "wait wait please be careful raph." "How does it work?" "Well if you just (Don swiped it from his hands) give it back." Don shot raph a glare as he then looked down at his work. "First of all, we need these watches." He showed some old watches Donnie found and fixed them up. They each took one fairly politely and placed them on their wrists. Mikey looked down at the watch then back up at don "What do they do?" He asked as Leo in the background had his arm out flipping the watch onto his wrist "It helps us Not keep in touch with the realities we visit. plus no one can see us. So thats a bonus." "Cool!"  "And You just Flip this switch, Press this twice to get it charged up and then.." *Flick*. They all transported with a brightlight leaving the area.
They ended up somewhere in Tokyo, Japan. 2017. On the front porch, Wooden Wind chimes; Chimed in the soft night air. The sounds of Traffic and City life filled air. An open window with Purple lace flowing in and out of the window. A girl with Black based hair had it all poofed up Like Emo Hair with White n' neon Pink stripes in it. She wore no lipstick but plenty of eyemake-up. platform boots. Jeans with a Black tight shirt. She sat on the ground pretzel like as she worked on some device. She tapped her touch-watch making a Hologram flip open. She swiped it and pressed a button; then made the screen close. "Let me take a guess." raph crossed his arms as he rose a brow to his brother, Don. "What i was curious. plus I'm the one who invented this thing." He fixed his glasses making a white sheen fade across them. Leo smiled at Don's response as Raph looked over to the Japanese girl. "She's so tiny.." Mikey walked up to her as he tried to touch her but His hand went through her. He freaked out and grabbed his hand into the other. "Thats scary creepy." Mikey loudly whispered. Donnie chuckled as he Took a picture of the girl. "Why did you do that? Can't you meet her in our dimension too?" "Pfft like that could ever happen. I'm always busy in New york. plus she was never born in our dimension. Her mom and dad never met. And they probably met through the Practices." "Practices?" Mikey questioned. "Jobs." Don looked at his brother from afar. The girl stood up and walked over to the her Shelves. Placed her like technological design on the middle shelf as she stood beside Leo. "She is tiny." Leo bent down to see how short she is compared to him. "She's only 5'1. Thats almost average height." "Damn." Raph spoke surprised. "I like my girls short" Don winked. "Any girl is short compared to you don. Your taller than me." Raphael confessed. "Okay, lets see raphael's Girl." "aw yea. I bet she's hot! Just like me." raph put his hand on hip as he pretended to Grease his hair back as he closed his eyes showing off. "hah! The she must be pretty ugly." Mikey laughed. raph punched him from above onto his head..*bonk* "OW! GOD!" "yes?" raph smiled as he looked at Mikey "Your ain't god raph!" He rubbed his head as he squeezed his eyes shut. "Come on guys." Don transported them leaving a tingle going up the girl's back. Her Chocolate eyes looked around..left..right..Turned around to sit at her desk.
     They arrived to where You were reading a story on wattpad.  Donnie's invention made it so They could stand in the same room you were in and See you. "And this girl..her name is Y/n..And..huh thats weird." "Whats wrong?" "well its just (he itches his chin in slow strokes) Its supposed to be for One girl per turtle But this keeps switching between Leonardo Raphael. When it should only be one of you." Don huffed as he squished his lips to the side. "Doesn't make sense." "No girl of mine will be with (raph gestures all of leo) That." raph crossed his arms as he looked at leo. Leo's eyes squinted partially as he rolled his eyes looking from Raph to you. You were very pretty though. At least to him. Your eyes were illuminated from the Device (phone/Computer/Tablet/ect) which also highlighted your face. You bit your bottom lip as your eyes scrolled your story. One knee (Sitting position: bounced up and down-- Laying down: Swayed side to side) while you yawned. "Why can't she see us?" Leo walked up beside you as he looked at your surroundings then looked at Don. "I made it so we are almost in camoflauge mode. We can talk as loud as we want. She wont hear or see us. Thanks to these watches. Which i programmed to start up as soon at the machine transports us." "Thats AWESOME!" Mikey complimented  "Oh geez its already overheating. we better get back." "aweee..i wanted to see my girl." "Tomorrow we can, mikey." Don smiled as he patted his head. They all transported themselves back to their dimension. A shiver was sent up your spine up to your scalp to tingle your hairs. you looked around then went back to reading. A tiring tear fell from your eyes; wiping it away you gave into your Sleepiness and Turned off your Device. You went to sleep.
Next morning::  You reached over for your phone; you reached over farther for you to feel nothing. You lifted yourself up to see you were on a brickworked flooring. Cold and hard. And now your arm killed you. "mmm-ow.." 'I must've slept on it wrong.' You rubbed your eye as You looked up to see a kitchen..your eyes furrowed as you looked to your left and saw A living area mostly made of Pizza boxes. "what.." you got up all panicky and looked around as you spun looking around. You grabbed your hair as a stress releiver. Feeling its softness helped you most of the time. you petted each clump of hair with both thumbs. You turned around to see someone. Right before you bumped into them. Their physical physic was tall, strong and muscular. Their green eyes looked at you with surprise. your screams vibrating the concrete. Your head bobbed a little as your legs walked backwards on the heels of your barefeet. You fell backwards onto the ground. Your head clashed into the cement last.
to be continued..

TMNT Call of the Void 8
The stink would have been absolutely unbelievable for anyone who had never smelled a dog quarantine room filled with puppies. Puppies, despite their cuteness, where some of the nastiest little shits on the planet. Admittedly, Ruby had never waded through puppy crap in flip-flops, but at least human waste and refuse didn’t smell like coccidia.
“We need to let Sensei know,” said the turtle – actual turtle – to her left. There was a slight glow coming from various devices and instruments on the tallest one, and an illuminated…was that a hologram?...suddenly shone in the darkness.
“Hello, Master Splinter?” Odd name, Ruby thought. And what is the sensei thing about?
“Yes, we-we’re okay, it’s just – “
The tall one glanced back at Ruby and began speaking rapidly in Japanese. Ruby felt a hint of insult, but she knew this wasn’t a regular situation. Raphael hadn’t told his brothers about her, and hadn’t told her much about them, so she could forgive them about being wary of her. She – five-foot-three, four-eyed, and out of shape – was dangerous to them.
Ruby saw the shadow that was Raphael reach forward and smack the tall turtle on his shell, making several instruments quiver.
“We’re taking her home, genius, she’s gonna find out anyway. We can trust her.”
‘Genius’ turned off the device with a quiet word, turning around to glare at Raph. He spoke again in Japanese.
“Quit that,” Raphael said, before being interrupted again. He glanced at Ruby and she knew he wanted to do the same, to talk in the privacy of her lack of comprehension, but he stuck to English.
“Well, she ain’t freaked out yet, has she?”
“Don, I think she’s pretty cool with it,” piped up the smallest one, nudging Ruby on the arm. The tall one watched them for a moment, and then turned away, continuing down the tunnel.
“Um, can I ask who ‘Sensei’ is?”
The little one started to answer before Raphael actually shoved a hand in his face.
“He’s our…well, he’s our sensei. He’s like our teacher and father at the same time.”
“I thought sensei was like a martial arts thing,” Ruby said.
“It is,” said the little one, on the opposite side of the Ruby as Raphael. “We’re ninjas, girlfriend.”
Ruby stopped dead, turning to Raph and shooting him with a scandalized look.
“Ninja? You couldn’t have mentioned that in your eHarmony profile?”
Raphael spluttered and glared at her, as she knew he would. Even the tall one chuckled a bit, and the tension in the tunnel lessened.
“Ninjas,” she scoffed. “Imma ask you to prove it tomorrow.”
Which reminded her.
“’Scuse me, I need to call my supervisor.”
Ruby pulled her phone out of her bag and punched in a speed-dial. The light from the screen illuminated the tall turtle’s face as he turned towards her; she ignored the distrust there. The line picked up on the third ring.
“Imogen, hey, my apartment’s burned down and I won’t be in to work tomorrow,” said Ruby quickly. “Possibly the next day.”
“…What?”
Her supervisor sounded tired and groggy.
“Oh, I’m sorry, did I wake you up? Sorry. But I just wanted to tell you that I wouldn’t be in to work tomorrow. I need to find a new apartment.”
“You apartment burned…are you okay?”
Ruby’s hands and shoulder stung, her limbs were trembling, and she was walking through the sewers with four giant turtles with shit up to her ankles and feeling more than a little shell-shocked.
“Yeah, I’m good,” she said.
“You sure? Do you need somewhere to stay?” “I’m crashing with a friend,” said Ruby, glancing up at the shadow she knew was Raphael. They passed under a sewer grate and sharp light illuminated the grin he struck at her.
“’Kay…I’ll, uh, I’ll call someone to come in…” “You go back to sleep,” Ruby said, “I’ll call someone. Okay, thanks Imogen, see you around. Wow, I did not know it was one in the morning.”
The light from her phone glared painfully and she tried to dial without looking directly at it.
“You gonna be okay with work?” “Oh, it’ll be fine,” Ruby said, pushing the phone back against her ear. It took her two tries to wake up one of her coworkers, and nobody was happy about being called at 1 AM, but she got a cover for her shift for two days, maximum.
“Do you mind if I see that phone?” Ruby looked up at the tallest shadow, which loomed discomfitingly in the dark. She handed him her cell and he fiddled with it for a few seconds before slipping it back in her hands, offering no explanation.
“Thanks,” Ruby murmured. “What’s your name?” “Oh, er, Raph…didn’t tell you?” Something dripped on her head and she shivered, skirting a little to the side and bumping into someone.
“Um, no,” she said, not sure how much detail she could go into. Would they be relieved he hadn’t talked about them, or annoyed?
The big shadow to her right shifted a little, his arm brushing against hers, as they turned a corner and stepped onto dry ground.
“Oh. Well, uh, I’m Donatello,” the tall one said. “Well, Donnie, really, but…” “Another Renaissance artist?” “Yeah,” he said with a quiet laugh. “There’s a bit of a theme.” “Is there a Leonardo here?” “Present,” said the shadow behind her, the one who had been arguing with Raphael on the rooftop.
“Don’t forget about the best and brightest,” said the smallest turtle to her left. “Michelangelo here, but the ladies like to call me Mikey.” He turned around, walking backward as he picked up her hand and bowed.
“Is that so, Michelangelo,” Ruby teased. “I’m Ruby Richards. How do you do, good sir.”
“Oh, madam –“
The faint light given off by Donatello’s instruments showed him putting a hand to his chest.
“You wound me!”
Ruby giggled at his exaggerated swoon, the lightness of his voice clearing out some of the smoke and darkness inside her head, and a memory suddenly hit.
“Wait, we’ve already met, haven’t we?” Michelangelo turned around the look at her, as did Donatello and Leonardo; Raphael stiffened a bit. “The alley, just before New Year’s, I almost got mugged and…”
“Yeah, dudette!” Mikey’s grin was illuminated by the farthest efforts of a street lamp, as were the other’s rather angry faces. “I was so stoked that I finally got to meet Raph’s girl! I mean, yeah, probably could have been under better circumstances, but still!”
Leonardo grabbed Mikey by the arm and pulled him behind the group, holding him back for a minute as they all turned down another tunnel. Ruby ignored the ‘Raph’s girl’ bit in favor of worrying. She really hoped she hadn’t gotten the poor kid in trouble. Raph fell behind after a moment to join the other two, and Ruby and Donatello paused for several minutes until the others caught up with them.
Ruby took the opportunity to have an internal WHAT THE FUCK moment. Her friend was a fucking turtle! A vigilante, six-foot-five turtle, with three turtle brothers. Were they aliens? Genetic experiments? Were they always turtles, or humans first? Donatello stood on the opposite side of the tunnel from Ruby and she couldn’t see him very well from the light of his instruments, but she knew he was studying her as intently as she was studying him.
Eventually the others came back up the tunnel and they continued on their way. There was a distinct tension, but even though Leonardo huffed angrily Michelangelo still linked his arm with Ruby’s and walked with a bounce.
They moved on, continuing onto mercifully dry ground, although Ruby distantly heard rushing water. Raph’s hand on her back steered her around another corner and she noticed the stink of the sewers had faded. The tunnel they were in branched off, but they paused by a stretch of bare wall. Ruby was about to ask what they were waiting for when one of Donatello’s instruments started blinking, and part of the wall seamlessly opened. The light coming from the round tunnel beyond was faint, but Ruby still had to squint, relying on Raphael to guide her until her eyes adjusted to the light. They emerged into a huge space, the absolute coolest place her exhausted mind had ever seen. Raphael let her slip forward and she turned on shaking legs in a wide circle too see where they were. It was immense and dizzying, an abstract mishmash of color and light and shadow. There was too much to take in quickly, and she only had a very short time. Her circle turned her to face Raphael and the brothers who were stalking through the entrance behind him.
The light of the – she hesitated the think lair, but Batcave really wasn’t fitting – was bright and multicolored, springing from all sorts of screens, lanterns, flow-lamps, and neon signs, soft enough to not be jarring on her eyes, and for the first time Ruby could see her friend. Actually see her friend, not just from flashes of fire and dull streetlamps through sewer grates.
She’d certainly been right about one thing: he was stacked.
And green.
And very, very big. She’d call him a brick shit-house, but she didn’t think they even made brick shit-houses that big.
Actually all of them were huge and green and stacked. But Raph was downright intimidating. Ruby would probably be scared if she hadn’t known he could cable knit.
She was sort of just standing there, looking him over. Of course he noticed her staring, a confrontational frown on his face; Ruby shook her head with a tired sigh. Gigantic turtles and an underground moshpit were a little too much on top of losing her home and everything in it.
“I’ll do this in the morning,” Ruby muttered. “…It is the morning. I’ll do this when I wake up. Is there a place I can collapse for a while?”
“You can take Raphael’s room,” called a voice from behind. “He and I will be talking for a very long time tonight.”
Ruby turned around to see who had spoken and was suddenly very glad she had several years of customer service under her belt, because although her mind was screaming GIANT RAT GIANT RAT GIANT RAT, her face was saying ‘Hi, how do you do?’ He was wearing a brown robe and holding a little bonsai tree, which he put down to greet her. His clawed hand was rough and firm, his eyes black, shining pits, but when he welcomed her his voice was exceedingly kind, and the hand he put on her elbow to guide her to a seat was gentle.
A mug of something hot and steaming appeared in her hand and she drank gratefully, her backpack sliding off of her shoulders as her eyes slipped closed. Suddenly she felt very very tired, and wanted nothing more than a dark bed and a warm blanket.
The latter, at least, appeared in the form of a hand-knit quilt that someone draped over her back. An inhuman hand patted her shoulder and she leaned her forehead against her mug, softly shaking her head. She was too tired to deal with giant rats and turtles. If an enormous alligator suddenly sprang from the river and started performing a jazzy song-and-dance number, she’d probably do nothing more than blink at it.
The mental image of a huge Florida gator with a top hat and spats, singing It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing amused her while the others spoke and argued amongst themselves, until she felt her mug being taken out of her hand. She opened her eyes to a green face and amber-colored eyes beneath a red mask; Raphael pulled her off of the couch and led her to an alcove, down a wide hallway and into a large, eccentrically-decorated bathroom. The sheer number of pictures pasted to the walls was overwhelming and dizzying, and she silently let Raphael lean her up against a shower wall, lifting her filthy feet into the spray of water he commanded from the tap. The room wasn’t really made to fit two giant turtles and one tiny human, but Donatello came in a few minutes later and silently began patching up the burn on her arm, slathering something cold and stinging onto it and deftly wrapping it in gauze. He touched the salve to a few other spots, too, places on her leg and cheek that she hadn’t even noticed. The bat she broke against Raph’s chest had given her a few splinters, and they were taken care of as well. They left her in privacy for a few minutes, but she didn’t feel like showering, even though there were bits of soot and grit in her clothes, and sweat-streaked grime on her skin. She knew she’d feel better if she was clean, but she was just so tired.
Raphael met her outside of the bathroom and she followed him back to the main area. It was so weird to finally connect a face to his voice and a body to his presence. She was so used to him being a shadow; now that he’d solidified into something she could see, she felt like she didn’t know him all over again.
He seemed a little uncomfortable as well, she noticed. The bandages on his arm and hand – when had those appeared? - would tighten and loosen as he flexed nervously, and he couldn’t seem to decide on whether he wanted to watch her or not look at her at all.
“Don’t worry about your room,” Ruby murmured, quietly enough that he had to lean down. Damn, but he was tall. “I can stick myself on the couch.” She hadn’t actually seen a couch and suddenly wondered how they’d fit their huge asses onto one at all. “…Or something.”
“You are a guest, miss Richards,” said the giant fucking rat, coming down from what looked like a kitchen with two of the turtles on his heels. Donatello had disappeared.
“It would be inhospitable of us to just stick’ you somewhere.” he said.
“This is your home,” Ruby replied. “It would be rude of me to displace anyone.”
She and the rat stood almost nose-to-nose, staring at each other for a quiet minute. Ruby knew she had an upper ground in manners; she’d been raised in the South, where ‘yessirs’ and ‘hey how you’s’ were as common as breathing. Whatever the guest wanted to do, even if it was a less comfortable situation for them, was what happened.
Finally, after a blinking contest that made her eyes water, he backed off.
“If you wish, then,” he said, with a gesture. “But if you are staying for longer than tonight, I will insist you use one of the rooms.”
“Fine by me,” said Ruby, kicking her backpack under the large chair-thing she had been led to. She shrugged off the knit blanket and accepted the pillow that…Leonardo? She honestly wasn’t sure. He had the most indistinct shape - not as beefy as Raph, taller than Michelangelo but not as tall as Donatello. He was wearing a blue mask and what was up with the masks?
She accepted the pillow that most likely Leonardo handed to her, and sat down on the chair. The others kind of looked at her awkwardly and she looked back, feeling more like an intruder than she had yet. Was there something she was supposed to do? Was she the first human who’d ever been down here?
Raphael split from the group and crouched by the side of the chair, which still didn’t put his face even below her eye level.
“I’m in the room over there, alright?” He pointed to another alcove how many did this place have and turned back to her. “You need me, you get me.”
Ruby nodded and he nodded back, rising to his feet and following the rat out of Ruby’s vision. She collapsed back on the chair, noticed the lights dimming, and was oblivious to everything else.
  “Master Splinter ream you out?” Raph rubbed his eyes with the heels of his palms, trying to get the tired smoke-sting out of them. Splinter had kept him up for nearly two and a half hours, which – considering the boys’ late nights – wasn’t really that long, but he was more mentally exhausted than he’d been in a long time. His friend was in danger, his friend was okay, his friend was actually seeing him and his family, she wasn’t freaking out, she was here, in the lair, and Splinter had just given him the whole Twenty Questions deal, but with two hundred questions instead. When had they met, where, why, why did he hide it from his family, was he sure she could be trusted, what did she do, what had happened with the fire, everything. He had actually been surprisingly accepting of the whole thing; his boys were growing up and growing out, he’d said, and he was happy that they were finding more people to connect with – as long as they were careful. If Raph trusted her, then Splinter would support him. But then Leo had gotten on his case, again, and then Donnie, and when Donnie bitched your ass out about something he got downright nasty and personal, and Raphael really did not want to talk about it, even though he knew that his youngest brother had gotten almost the exact same treatment, since he’d known about Ruby and hadn’t told anyone.
“Go to sleep, Mikey,” Raph just said. Curiously, Michelangelo had been the quietest about the whole night. He’d delighted in meeting Ruby again, but he hadn’t questioned Raphael at all. Raph could practically feel Leo and Donnie fuming and musing from their respective corners of the lair, but Mikey was just laying on his bunk and petting Klunk, quietly preparing for an early night. Raph decided to take the silence, and be grateful.
It didn’t last very long.
Amongst the swingswishslash of Leo’s blades from where he was angrily practicing and the tapping of Donnie’s keys from his computer bank, quiet footsteps and the sliding of cloth across the concrete floor alerted him to another presence in the room. The glow from the fairy lights illuminated Ruby’s tired face as she tentatively walked over to the bunk beds, swaddled in one of Raph’s knit blankets. She peered at the bottom bunk and then the top, her eyes, sans glasses, having more difficulty seeing in the half-light than his.
“Raph?”
He quietly hmm’ed in response, knowing that Mikey was awake anyway.
“Do you…”
She looked away from the bed, into a corner, drawing the blanket further over her shoulders.
“Would you mind if I…can I…?”
He realized what she wanted with a jolt that ran through his exhaustion like a hot wire. His shell nudged against the wall as he scooted back from the edge of the bed, and she climbed up the bunk and settled down in beside him, just close enough for her knees to brace against one thigh. She still smelled of smoke and dust and sweat, but also of Raphael himself, probably due to the blanket she was using.
“Just don’t roll over,” she muttered into the pillow. Raph half-grinned and settled back down, watching her breathing even within seconds.
“Dude-“ “Not one word, Mikey,” he growled. He closed his eyes and fell asleep to the sound of quiet laughter.
  When the hell do the guys sleep? They’re up all night, they’re up all day, I don’t know, do they have really uncertain schedules or something? I have no clue, I’m just gonna say that they go down around four or five AM and get up around one or two PM. That leaves them all of the afternoon, night, and early morning to do their shenanigans.
I am so glad I’m the crazy cat lady of my shelter, because dogs make the biggest stink ever. True, kittens often miss the box and a few we get in often have coccidia, which stinks to high heaven, and sometimes cats just enjoy being bastards and don’t cover their shit, but puppies, man. Puppies are nasty little rotters. Even if they don’t have any illness, they’re stinky. Most people let their puppies play on the grass, which is probably fine at home, but at the shelter we’ve had dogs with every kind of illness. The big one, parvo, stays on grass and until a puppy is six months old and has had its parvo shot, you can’t put it on the grass to poop. We just got in a litter of rottie-mixes, and they’re too little to go outside anyway so they poop in the kennel. God, that stink. Admittedly, I had a kitten climb on my shoulder and shit on me last week, but still.
Donnie’s being a bit of a dick because he’s being cautious. The last time they invited a girl back to their place it blew up, and this isn’t even a girl they knew previously, it’s someone his brother has been secretly visiting for an unknown length of time, who has unknown affiliations and knowledge of them, and – even though the disaster at police headquarters turned out okay – he’s still having a difficult time trusting new people.
Splinter’s always going to be concerned about his sons, but he’s also incredibly supportive and just plain a Good Dad.
It took me two hours – two hours – to go through the film and piece together exactly what was in the new lair and where. Everything’s so bright and mismatched and we don’t get many good angles and I still don’t know what a few of the tunnels and alcoves lead to, but I’ve got a general idea now. It’s COOOL as FUCK, though. There’s a random huge chair thing in the alcove next to Donnie’s computer bank, so that’s where I’m sticking Ruby.

Lost in Inkling; Part I
'I miss you.' 'I miss you too.' 'Are you okay?' 'You already asked that Issa'
Damn, I wish I had a tall, ambitious, white teeth smile, sexy ass man like Lawrence. Dramatic I know, but a man who would love me so much that he changes himself is the one you let pay some light bills and stick around for a while.  There's just no way I'd fuck that up.
It's the second time I've watched Episode 8 of Insecure. Dressed in my 2011 Destin Beach spray paint T-shirt and black sweat pants, with my trusty wine in my left hand and my laughing stick in the right. I still can't wrap my mind around how she got bored with an idealistic man who always mentions her when speaking of his dreams. Gahhh! Heart Eyes! Okay, its the seventh time I've watched it. Don't judge me, but I get a slight satisfaction knowing there are more lost and single, almost 28 year olds, that fear to be an eternal solitarian who practices faithfulness. Despite the increasing popularity of two-timing. It’s almost like people want to catch the Monkey virus. Either way, I really need to let Insecure go. The show I mean. Well, I need to let go of my own too but after Jermaine, I've been bathing in regret and drying in self-loath. Then I lotion in confidence and dress in 'fuck these niggas', only to go out and witness a known married man all hugged up with some tramp. Then I come home and accept marriage was put on my blueprint for 1962 and I should just adopt 9 dogs, since I attract them anyway.
                             *ring ring*
Should I answer? or no? After throwing my phone like Jackie in a third inning last week, I broke my phone screen at an ineffective attempt to calm my rage. Plus, I hate answering calls when I'm not fully prepared. I did get slightly excited since nobody calls my phone but appointment reminders or those 'press 1 if this is Janeice Pothucker'  *1*  'you have missed 7 payments'  *disconnect call*. But It was only my overzealous best friend Quinn.
"You okay, Lanie? I haven't heard from you since Tuesday."  She said sounding extremely concerned. "Quinn, its only Wednesday night, you act like you weren't just over here drinking up all my Pinot Nior. You owe me $20 too." I said sternly. "Well you taking to long to call me and I got some 'It was all a dream' juicy news to tell you, bitchhh!" "Bitchhh like Miracle Watts juicy or Deelishous Juicy?" "Nah Nah, darker berry sweet, like Bernice juicy with a little Big Booty Judy cause it's a throw back." "Ahhh I am excited now, Tell me!" "You remember James from Liberty High?" "Afro James or Sling Ding James?" "Lanie, the audacity you have to think I would have any exhilarating announcement involving the likes of Sling Ding Pencil miss holes James!" "Wouldn't put it past you" I said slyly. "Fuck you!"   We laugh for a few moments. "No no. Its the quiet one who came the middle of junior year and played football. Really cute. I had a crush on him until me and Rich got back together and then I caught him with Hoe Lay?" "Ohhhh," I said remembering "He was so sweet and had the cutest smile! What about him?" "Well I ran into him at the mall earlier and we started talking and catching up on missed time or whatever and BOOM, He asked me on a date, a real live date!" "Like a real real live date?" I asked for reassurance. "Yes bitch, We going to Ruth Chris this weekend."                                              I am genuinely happy for Quinn, but it seems like whenever I go through a hard break up, every one around me magically becomes the most un-single, deep in love earthlings ever! Its just not fair. "Lanie, " She said breaking the silence of my deep thought. "Did you hear me? We're going to Ruth Chris! The $60 dollar per person place we would only think of going during tax season. I think I'm going to order a salad so I won't look to greedy, what you think?" "I think if he wants to spend $60 on you let him spend it!" "I knew you would say that you're greedy like me, I'm about to send you a picture of what I picked out to wear." "My screen is on black out, but send it anyway and I'll look at it after I come from the Sprint store tomorrow." "Damn, I forgot. Okay, I'll call you later.” She paused. “And I ain’t paying you shit!” she said laughing right before hanging up the phone. The next morning, I dress for work in my sexy black lawyer pant suit with my "move bitch" pumps to try and redeem myself after looking like a depressed, lament bum this whole week. Despite my attempts to lift my soul out of Desparia, I’ve been cutting people off in mid conversation and hiding in my office all day. Maybe some fresh air will do me good. During my lunch break I head over to Sprint to see about having my phone brought back to life. When I entered the store, they either thought I stole $82 from their wallets or I was the announcement of Beyoncé's twin pregnancy. Either way, even in my shitty mood, I didn't mind the attention. I proceed to the empty front desk so I can add my name to the wait list. I'm sure no one wanted to approach me since I had the 'y'all bitches better not have me waiting to long' look on my face. After a long 67 seconds of standing there riled, this skin smooth, dark chocolate, gym 4 days a week built brother approaches me. I think he was saying something to me. I'm not really sure and he may think I was being rude, but really I was in distress over his full lips slowly rising to display his straight solid white smile.                   "Ma'am are you alright?" I finally closed my slightly opened mouth and shook off the hypnosis. “What can I help you with?” "huh?... oh yes umm.. I need to see about getting my phone fixed. I dropped it and my screen has been black since." Realizing my daydreaming, he let off a half smile. Damn, that half smile was deadly! "Sure thing, Can I get your name?"   "Lanie," I couldn't help but examine his fresh cut and perfect symmetrical face. This may just be me, but its something about a man looking down while I look at the top of his head, reminds me of....never mind.   "hmm, I don't see you in here, have you been to this location before?"   "Oh yeah, try Janeice, Janeice Pothucker." "Found you. Is your phone number 615-364-0741?" "Yes, that's me." He paused for a moment.   "Cool, it looks like we don't have anyone ahead of you for the technician, so follow me to the back and I'll get you all set up with Mike." We walk to the back to the area of the large room where all the techs were sitting behind the glass. For a moment I forgot where I was. It felt like he was leading us to our table, a dinner for two at my favorite live music restaurant, Sambuca. Dim lights and subtle jazz in the background and nothing but an intellectual exchange between us two. Discussions range from Angela Davis quick-witted way out of prison in the 60's to if Tupac really is alive and well in Cuba. The technician advised the phone fix will only take 15 minutes since all of the parts are in store. I stuck around, of course. I walked around looking at the latest phones and gadgets they had laid out for display. The Samsung galaxy s8 plus appealing frame caught my eye, might add to my list of future purchases. As I am going through the phone messages, by nature, I feel a set of eyes gazing at me. I look up to make sure the technician wasn't trying to get my attention, but he was in the back somewhere unseen. I slowly rotate by placing my right foot behind the left and did a ballerina spin. It felt necessary at the moment to slyly look around without making an obvious attempt to scan the room. Somehow in the midst of my spin I sped up and I forgot I had the new s8 in my right hand that was attached to a cord on the counter. The cords elasticity spun me back facing the counter, forcing me to loose my balance. Don't worry, I landed perfectly on the left side of my face. Smooth. I was so embarrassed! I wanted to run out the store like I just got my chain snatched by Debo. Before I could fully open my eyes, Donny Savage look-a-like is gently grabbing my right arm helping me up. Strange, because I could of sworn before my failed pirouette I saw his melanated reflection in the corner of my peripheral on the other side of the room. "Are you alright?" "You like that question. Yes I'm fine, I just lost my balance. Thanks....Solo." Glancing at his name tag. "Well I'm no doctor but it look like you're going to have a nasty knot on your left temple. We've got some ice in the back I can get you some." "No No, I'm fine really, thanks." I said pained as I gathered my purse and a few of my unmentionables that scattered in my fall. "I'm just embarrassed." I mumbled. "No need to be embarrassed, I fell down a flight of stairs just last week." Fuck! He heard me. "I didn't get to witness you fall so it doesn't count." I managed to say with a chuckle. "Do you dance?" He asked. "Huh?" "Dance," He reiterated. "from over there it looked like you were about to hit a nice spin." "You noticed from all the way over there?" His face said it all, I found my star gazer. "Mrs. Pothucker, your phone is ready." yelled the phone technician saving Solo from an explanation. "It's Ms. Pothucker, and thank you." "You're Welcome. Insurance covered everything so you're good to go." "Thank you. Have a nice day." "You as well, Ms. Pothucker." I started for the door. I was still embarrassed from my fall to look Solo's way so I sped up hoping my arms weren't bouncing behind me. "Ms. Pothucker," I turned around recognizing the deep waved, Godly voice. " have a nice day" "You as well, thank you again." He nodded. Fine ass! I hopped in my white Cherokee and scurried back to work with a satisfied smile on my face. Its good to know I wasn't the only one looking.
