Charlie Grace - S01E01 Take Me To The Pilot - September 14 1995 ABC . . Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, who played #sweathog Freddie 'Boom Boom' Washington on Welcome Back, Kotter (1975-1979), played Detective Gossett along with Don Stark’s Detective Simms. The pair of detectives hate former cop and current private investigator Charlie Grace and did everything they could to make his life miserable. It felt like a #PulpFiction baller move to have a sweathog in your show. . . Charlie Grace aired on ABC opposite NBC’s Friends and so only 9 episodes were made. Only 6 of those made it to air. And only 4 of those can be found on one of the non-YouTube video sites. Charlie Grace’s cancellation was the reason I refused to ever watch Friends first run. I think I later enjoyed other shows that were sacrificed in the opposite-Friends-timeslot. . . Charlie Grace was played by Mark Harman, who was also a producer on the show. It was created by Robert Singer of Supernatural fame. Yes, Bobby Singer on that show was named after him. Charlie Grace was a #hardboiled detective show, and the first two episodes were complete gut-punches when you found out who did it. @HBOMax should really add this show to the service. Or at least #IMDbTV. . . At the time I was very impressed that Smashing Pumpkins' cover of Landslide made it into an episode. Thieves (2001) was an ABC show starring John Stamos and Melissa George. They made 10 episodes before it got cancelled. 2 of which went unaired. 7 years ago I found the first two episodes on Dailymotion. (Along with the first 4 episodes of Charlie Grace.) Those videos are no longer there and none of the episodes of either show are on YouTube.* It would be great if Warner Archive released these two shows on VOD and/or DVD. And/or on HBO Max. Hyper-Coloured Valentines

Last summer I was living in Jakarta so my boyfriend flew up for Valentines Day (what a sweetheart right?). I dyed rice bright red and placed it in three large vases of different sizes. Lighting candles to place inside them, I set up a romantic candlelit dinner on the roof of my apartment building with heaps of cushions and an incredible starry view of the whole city!

We ordered take away from my favourite local Indonesian restaurant and enjoyed each others company as we listened to the Islamic chants all around before it eased into busy city sounds as the moon rose.

After dinner we let off a heap of fireworks into the night. We watched them soar above, flaming and exploding hyper coloured paint onto the black starry canvas.

It was a perfect evening. We were in love.
