Waking up on the beach, Rein felt his head pounding. He remembered... the ship... the fight... the intellect devourers... the people in pods... and the crash.

He got to his feet, stumbling, feeling ill, probably from some head injury, "What was all that?" He whispered to himself as he felt his back. Rein's axe was still there. Phew. He looked around, squinting, trying to get his bearings when he heard... someone. A distressed sound from someone nearby.

Rein took off, not thinking about anything except that person, too dizzy to really see much, but he let his ears guide him. Unfortunately, whoever it was, was still on the ship which gave him immense pause. Was he really willing to run back to rescue someone? And well... yes. He was.

The half-elf rushed in, listening for the person before seeing them, still stuck in a pod that had fallen on its side. He immediately slid over to it, smashing the cracked glass with the blunt handle of his axe, worriedly looking over the person inside, wiping the glass away from her eyes, "Hey! Are you okay?" He asked, clearly a bit frazzled, himself.

What was he doing? How the Hells did he get here?!

Oh yes...😳 Asta's mother

•Cyra is alive and "well" But far from the kingdom.

•She descends from the high elves (the only elves who can communicate with the gods through magical rituals)

•She supported and was an active part in the movement to dethrone Asta when she became pregnant with the MC

•She and Aedh were friends before they got married (for political reasons) unfortunately the marriage was not very good for them and the friendship did not survive.

•She is only proud and has some level of affection for Silvina, the others she considers disappointments (mainly Asta and Rigan) She conceived them only because it was her duty.

•She doesn't care much about her grandchildren. She doesn't think about them enough to have an opinion, you know? Not even about the MC (okay, she finds the MC weird) but just that. I promise.

She was Raafa Prince Hou Yi assistance and a daughter figure for Hou Yi. You Yi also her teacher as she learn how to write, read, and basic math from him. She and You Yi share same neck burn scar too.

cyra can tell something is wrong. something is off. this wasnt supposed to happen. whatever "this" was supposed to be. the feeling wrenches itself deep inside their gut and crawls up their throat in an icy horror. there is something so horribly inherently wrong and they can't even tell what it is, just that it is.

and then the burning starts

hot and painful like a branding iron, but its being pulled out from inside of them, searing hot stretching against their skin. the skin is bubbling, burning, being pulled taught against their face. Like molten metal fusing itself with their skin and wrapping itself deep within their flesh

they cant breathe

they cant see

they think they scream
