So I want to put this in a full post cause I do want to talk about it more. So here is a bit of context

I hope @the-2nd-random-kid doesn't mind me using them for this. as they have been brought by an interesting idea. And made me dig a little deeper.

Because as much as I like connecting Diluc to Vennessa, I do my best not to make him op or seem like a special chosen one. Mostly cause I don't like those kinds of characters. And it fits more with his character and story that his strength comes from himself.

So what we know of the delusion. It's made remains of deceased gods and other powerful beings. We also know that they are more powerful then vision but also more volitial and most likely, like vision depend on the person for backlash. Because Crepus's death was painful, but Diluc has seemingly face not repercusions for using the delusion. We also know that Diluc's Delusion was most likely part of Fatui experiments.

In typical genshin fashion, we don't know much more than the fact that Diluc's Delusion and the god essence put into Collie shared a similar black fire. And I'm gonna point out these wiki lines.

The archon residue imbued in Collei and in Crepus and Diluc's Delusion is considered as having a "neutral" element despite manifesting as black fire

The mass-produced Delusion confiscated by Gouro is a round glass orb with the Fatui insignia inlaid in it, encased in a jagged-edge frame. When Gorou displays it, the orb appears black while the Fatui emblem takes on a light gray color

The Delusions used by Agents, Cicin Mages, and Mirror Maidens is visually identical to those distributed to the Watatsumi Army, although their orbs are colored based on the elemental abilities they bestow

Now my first thought was that, there must be some tie to the original god that determines the outcome of the delusion and thus the color. But I'm gonna put money that the fatui were trying to work on true neutral Delusions that would allow the wielder to act like the traveler and be able to resonate with multiple elements. But then ended up with a weaker product that gave a weak elemental effect but still boosted the Weidler'she physical abiliti, whichich is what the rebellion got. But Diluc's delusion is the less controlled god essence they were working with and is now sitting in a strange middle ground.

Let's circle back to my first idea about it being Geo, and let me specify that maybe the original god was more Geo-aligned. (Look ,I am gonna even work this idea into my Delusion God OC eventually) And specifically tied to ores ,thus the metal. But we can see that powerful geo being are capable of being infused with other elements. Looking at the Geovisphaps. So what if this god had a specific geo/pyro resonance. BUT In the fatui experiments, they tried to make it more natural and able to affect more elements making it more volatile. Thus Crepus's pretty immediate and violent death. But Diluc has a vision. And already resonates with pyro energy, Making him much more compatible with the delusion. I'd even argue he's more likely to resonate with Geo as well, and though he doesn't have his vision while using delusion he's still got those pathways open.

About Vennessa and Ragnvindr. That's my ship and a hill I will die on. But let me give you what I think their visions were. Because I do think they both had visions. And just hear me out on this. Vennessa actually had a pyro vision, and Ragnvindr an anemo. Now again, here me out! Vennessa is passionate. Strong-willed and a bit of a hot head with ties already to the Pyro archon. And let's talk about how Venti tried to change history so that Ragnvindr's old order joined the rebellion. This heavily implies that Ragnvindr had a lot of guilt and probably earned his vision either by failing to help the Dawnlight swordswoman OR by not being able to convince his old friends to join the rebellion and having to fight them. And with that guilt, Ragnvindr built his family more about Vennessa's identity without directly tieing themselves, thus the falcons and flames being associated with his family.

Circling around again. Being from a family that already combines two elements and one member being of god blood and then ascending themselves I think this just resulted in family members who are more able to accept elemental energy. Thus Diluc's strong tie to pyro and his ability to accept geo-energy.

I feel like I rambled a bit, but I hope I've brought across my idea well enough. With the TLDR being The delusion's god remains where from a god able to infuse geo and pyro, and Diluc can work with that because he's just more open to resonating with elemental energy.

You buy him a family bundle of double whoppers. While you're in line he grabs way too many ketchup packets. At the table, you steal several of his best-looking french fries. Gojo has a habit of stealing bites off yours and Geto’s plates. It doesn’t matter if he already has his own or has yet to even touch it. It doesn’t matter if Suguru drenches his in so much sauce you can’t even see what’s beneath anymore. It doesn’t matter if you try to fight his utensils with yours or stab his hand with your fork. It doesn’t matter if Satoru’s so full he could implode with even a whiff of it. If it’s food that’s yours & Suguru’s, he’s taking a bite out of it. Bet.

You come to find that Gojo can turn on the waterworks really easily, but it’s never genuine tears. Meanwhile Geto doesn’t really cry much and finds it extremely hard to fake cry like his boyfriend does, until you find him nearly bawling over sad family/loved ones/friends/animal centred movies in the dark of his own room. He tries to cover it up when he notices you at his door, but in the end, your boyfriend’s head ends up sniffling in your lap with the movie continuing instead. You, on the other hand, cry quite easily and sometimes most of the times it makes your boyfriends want to tease you. Especially in bed (pretty sure they developed dacryphilia).

Nearly every corner of Satoru’s & Suguru’s rooms are filled with affectionate gifts from you. Be it random little trinkets that reminded you of them, stuffed toys of white cats and black wolves in all different shapes and sizes, hand written love letters and poems, dried flowers of different shades and kinds, scrap paper filled with doodles of the three of you — everything and anything you gift them, they have it. Even the ones from before you got together with them. Shoko calls them whipped. Haibara calls them sweet. Not that it matters when it’s become their safe space.

Gojo teaches you and Suguru to live more carefree, to be more adventurous, and to love more openly. Geto teaches you and Satoru to be more inquisitive, to carry morality in your hearts, and to appreciate love in actions. You teach Satoru and Suguru to live with balance, to respect boundaries without distancing, and to accept love as if it were home embodied in a person.

Gojo & Geto gets into a lot of trouble, small or big, when it comes to being tactful and sensitive to others. If you find Geto alone, he’s much more gentlemanly & exemplary, but placing them together always seem to bring out the mischievous (sometimes dickhead) side in him. Placing you in between them is a 50/50 gamble. Sometimes you make them worse, much like a trio of green tea bitches, but sometimes you halt them as if on a leash, as if a saint with two devils tamed.

Gojo and Geto likes to drag you out a lot. It would be every weekend if it wasn’t for you enticing them with a movie marathon and junk food in pyjamas, cozied up together, cuddling and giggling. A type of weekend they learn to crave when you’re out without them.

Gojo moves around quite a bit in his sleep, Geto’s a bit like an immovable object in his sleep, you’re a little in between but you bring a thousand stuffed toys and a bolster so the shared bed is kind of a mess.

Geto’s not a picky eater, you’re a picky eater, and Gojo prefers sweets (if he could live only on sweets, he would). Whenever you three go out to eat, it’s almost always a bit of a bicker between you and Gojo because he wants to eat sweets first and you think that he’s going to get diabetes before he hits 30, or he wants to eat at XYZ but you hate the way they make ABC. Geto would not give two fucks and just drives to where he wants to eat, sits everyone down, orders his food first. Then you and Satoru would team up to admonish Suguru’s table manners because, “How could you?!” & “The betrayal!”. Suguru is sick of you two (affectionate).

Often times, Gojo would just eat out because it’s just lesser of a hassle for his schedule (OT’s quite a lot) and because Geto is in the same line of business, he ends up doing the same most of the time too. They would feel guilty for coming home late and having you eat by yourself if it weren’t for the fact that you crave alone time after spending a whole day working to recharge, so they just leave you be and you’re appreciative of that. But ever since they found out you tend to cook meals for yourself rather than order take out, they’ve unanimously decided to come home to your dinners at least once a week. You’re half annoyed and half worried because A, you’ll have to cook x5 the portion (their appetite’s huge) and B, your taste might not suit them (Suguru’s not picky but that doesn’t mean you want him to eat something that isn’t that good to him just because it’s edible). Your boyfriends quelled your worries (most of it) when they said they’ll help cook and set up with you, and for the most part they do quite well with you in the kitchen. So in the end, while you do need your recharge, you find that once a week(day) doing this extremely domestic thing with them makes you fall even harder. Who would’ve known? (They did.)

You made it a habit to kiss them when they get back from work and on rougher days, you’ll take care of them the best way you can. Drawing them a warm baths, ordering in their favourites, and lots of reassurance through words (for Geto) & touches (for Gojo). Nowadays, if Gojo doesn’t receive a welcome home kiss he’ll sulk (extremely so) until he does. Geto’s the same where he expects a kiss, and when that doesn’t happen, he’ll make you kiss him one way or another.

When you’re having a bad day, Gojo tends to be the one to notice by observation and Geto tends to notice by instinct. They try to be gentler, sweeter, softer, and even more so when it’s particularly rough for you. Geto would take care of you by setting up a comfortable space for you, cooking you your comfort meals, and making sure you’re drinking enough water. Gojo would be stuck by your side like super glue on skin. He’d crowd your space, cocoon you in a soft blanket, and surround you with his arms, legs, and warmth. Both Satoru and Suguru would talk to you or stay in silence until you’re okay again, and it would feel like they could finally breathe a sigh of relief. (Please expect lots of kisses after since they learned that’d be the fastest way to get you smiling again)

Having fights with them was the worst, especially since it rarely happens. The fact that all three of you know each others weaknesses, breaking points, and sensitive topics makes it all the worse because when it gets too heated, all hell breaks loose. You would always be the first to cry, Geto would always be the first to walk away, and Gojo would be the first to pretend everything was fine. The first time it had happened, you barricaded yourself in your room for one and a half day before they came banging at your door to reconcile properly (the boys made up separately by literally having a fight). The last time it happened, you considered having a break from the relationship and each other. Just one short enough for everyone to get away and have some time to cool and collect themselves, “I think it’ll be good for us.”, but a resonate rejection came immediately from the other two. They knew that if they agreed, you’d never come back to them because while yes, Suguru’s the first to walk away, but he always comes back just as quick. You, however, once you walk away, you would walk away for good in the end (it was just a matter of when). So the fact that you would suggest such a thing was more than alarming to them, so much so that a chill of fear trickled down their spine.

Couples therapy was suggested as an outcome of the last fight. While none of you wanted to have a third (fourth?) party knowing the more intimate parts (or any parts) of your relationship, it was the most logical and effective method seeing as you and Geto are already have your own therapists. Gojo was the most reluctant (“We can just fix it ourselves.”), but if it meant that you wouldn’t leave him, then so be it. The sessions were chaotic and didn’t progress too much at first, but with time and tremendous efforts from everyone, it helped with improving the way you three communicated and loved each other.

You fell first, but Geto fell harder, and Gojo fell hardest.

Yuan Lu's longevity braids:

Something that stood out to me about Yuan Lu's character styling in A journey to love is his hair, mainly because the other leads don't have small braids like his.

But it didn't really occur to me that they might be longevity braids until i came across this Weibo post:

OP: "a journey to love has killed me once again, I've only just noticed that nearing the end Yuan Lu's longevity braids have come loose. Longevity braids coming loose represent Yuan Lu's ending. Save me, a journey to love really knows how to knife someone."

from these shots (ep 8), there's at least three braids on his right and one on his left

and yet in these shots (ep 35), as op pointed out, there are no braids in his hair

And then I came across this Douyin about Yuan Lu:

Douyin caption: "actually Yuan Lu has a few more braids called "longevity braids" than the others, something that elders would usually tie for frail children."

So I went to double check the cultural meanings behind longevity braids (it's a sort of platform like Quora/Reddit, so the answers are not 100% accurate, take with a grain of salt):

Question: Why do some boys keep a small braid at the back of their head?

Community answer: if boys in the village have braids, it's largely for this reason: if the child is frail since young they will start tying a "life braid" once the child starts growing hair. They will only cut the braid after the child is five weeks, six weeks, or twelve weeks old.

Community answer: The practice on our side is for the "more cherished"/younger son to keep a braid, there is no such thing as to keep it if the kid is sickly. But in the North there is such a thing as "longevity braids", to hope that kids can grow up healthy.

xie lian headcanon:

his laughter is mostly silent, with lots of shaking shoulders and hunching into himself and covering his face. the kind that looks like you might be crying. sometimes xie lian will laugh so hard he ends up making choking sounds like half a guffaw. (he’s autistic ok he’s never gonna laugh just pretty and normal he’s gotta be forever kinda weird about it.)

later on he tends to fold over into hua cheng and bury his face in hua cheng’s shoulder when laughing but hua cheng likes to pull back to look and treasure his laughing face. so when xie lian’s having a rare giggle fit (a thing that almost never used to happen, even before the fall of xianle and certainly never after) they end up in the position where hua cheng is just leaning forward clutching xie lian’s shoulders and kind of watching and laughing as well so they’re in their own bubble which is adorable but also so fucking weird when there’s people around.

they’re weird4weird in this marriage ok xie lian gets the space to open up and be treasured for the ways he is weird and imperfect and hua cheng gets the space to be a creepy fanboy without getting judged for it.

Anyway, completely unrelated but

♥ Choso would hug you while you cry about failing your driver's test.

♥ He understands how pent up emotions and stress would cause an outburst. He doesn't think it's weak, he finds it endearingly human.

♥ Even if you feel ridiculous and childish he doesn't think so. He just holds you until you calm down a little. He'd stroke your hair and softly say things like "It's alright", "It's okay, you just got nervous".

♥ He'd kiss your forehead and when he feels how hot it is, he'd get you some cold water and headache medicine.

♥ He'd be so kind and patient. He'd feel honoured that you'd be so open to showing your emotions around him.

♥ If we're talking about no Au/ canon Choso he'd probably unintentionally make you laugh by saying something like: "I don't even know what a driving test is so it can't be that important."

♥ If we're talking Normal AU Choso then he'd say something like "At least I still have an excuse to drive you around :)"

♥ He tells you the story about how Yuuji almost crashed the car when he did his driving test and jokes that you couldn't have done worse than Yuuji.

♥ You wouldn't need to explain much to him, he'd just let you cry and sleep it off with your head laying on his dampened shirt. He doesn't feel the need to rush you and he'd let you tell him about it when you're feeling better.
