@danny-chase Okay but imagine a story where Grant, Joey, and Rose grow up together under one house, and Slade hires Dick to tutor Rose in math. So then Joey is the hot artist guy who's usually upstairs, and Dick is the hot tutor guy who's always in the kitchen.

When Joey goes downstairs covered in paint and ready to gulp down a refreshing glass of orange juice, he stumbles across Dick and Rose working on Rose's homework at the kitchen table. Joey tries very hard not to glance at Dick out of the corner of his eye, but then Dick says hi to him, and Joey signs "hi" back and holds out his paint coated hand for Dick to shake. It's only after they let go of each other's hands that Joey realizes he left magenta colored fingerprints across Dick's knuckles. He signs an apology, which Rose translates for Dick, and rushes to get Dick a wet wipe. Dick tells him not to worry about it (he was too busy admiring Joey's eyes to even notice the paint in the first place).

And thus, Dick and Joey enter a pining phase where they constantly make excuses to run into each other. Joey always goes to the kitchen to get something to drink so he can see Dick. Dick always excuses himself to go the bathroom, and he wanders past Joey's room hoping that Joey will hear him and invite him to come look at his paintings (and Joey does invite him once he builds up the nerve to ask). Dick starts learning ASL and he even tries to sign while he's explaining stuff to Rose. Joey draws funny little doodles for Dick and sticks them on Dick's motorcycle (Dick keeps all of them).

Rose is oblivious to all of this at first until she isn't. She takes great joy in embarrassing both of them in front of each other.

Day 1: Leader of the Titans | Dick’s Undervalued Competency | Spyral Crew

Tim was getting ready for patrol when Dick emerged from the lift. He was standing better. His shoulders were even and he wasn't favouring his ribs like he'd been the last time Bruce had seen him. He always made good time on physical recovery.

But then, coming out of a weeklong coma had other complications.

Dick grinned at him, “Hey B.”

personally i ship dickjoey because other than their general dynamic (see: joey just chilling and dick being madly in love with him but haha as bros am i right fellas) i think it would be funny. especially against slade. dick is there for the death of his eldest, trains his youngest, and then dates his middle child it would just drive slade off the rails that this guy just has ties to every single one of his children and now he's romantically involved with one of them. it's like he wants to kill slade or something
