ok but how about hero community is pretty ableistic? (not necessarily specific people, but as a society as a whole). you know, this culture of overcoming, "plus ultra" and so on.
and how about disabled heroes who make self-advocating organisations and make their agencies inclusive? like, actually inclusive, not this shit "we will do what we think is necessary for you without asking your opinion about what accomodations you need and what you want".
and how about aizawa does he get an internship at such an agency and get acquainted with an inclusive environment for the first time? how about his deaf mentor who teaches him sign language and spoon theory?
and how about aizawa trying to reproduce this atmosphere in his classes in yuuei? not always successfully (because they can't completely remake society), but they really try, and students for the most part feel comfortable.

give and take
a/n: retired (disabled) shota x disabled reader hurt/comfort fluff. pls read all the tags; this is very self indulgent bc that’s how i feel like writing today. also i did a quick grammar check but this is generally unedited.
tw: neurological disorders, tics, muscle spasms, speech problems, dissociation, functional seizures, established relationships, l-bomb, reader is called baby, babygirl, daddy as nickname/title (used once)
Tumblr media
You stood in the kitchen, chefs knife in hand as you cut the last of the vegetables out before you. Shota rinsed rice at the sink on your right. You froze briefly before a muscle spasm shot through your hand, then a small tic. It was hardly any movement, but he caught it in the corner of his eye. Five years into retirement, you’d swear Shota was still sharp as ever.
“You okay?” he asked.
The sound of water stopped.
There was a slight hesitation in your voice. “Yeah. I’m good.”
With a few measured slices, the job was done. Your hand seized again. The large knife clattered onto the counter.
“Shit, sorry,” you said. More for yourself than him, perhaps.
Another small vocal tic.
Shota glanced your direction. “Let me take care of the rest.”
“Really, I’m-I’m fine, Sho,” you replied, transferring the cut onion onto a plate.
The subtle shift in his face told you he held his tongue this time when he’d rather not. Sure, you had a bad habit of pushing yourself too hard, but Shota had no room to talk on that. He knew - especially now - that life didn’t stop just because you did.
You shut your eyes; one pulled back and rolled for a second. Your body grew tired and heavy. “Just been a long-”
One moment, you were standing, the next, your legs gave out beneath you. There was a clang when the metal bowl of the rice cooker hit the floor. Rice and water splattered nearby as Shota caught you, body limp in his arms.
“Baby?”
An eyebrow twitched in response. Your head lolled forward painfully. Shota pulled you back into his shoulder and carefully lowered you to the floor, your head in his lap. A muscle spasm ripped down your spine as your back arched, muscles so tight that your extremities shook and your vision blurred once it passed once your eyes opened. Head foggy and empty, you fought your body to respond. A small groan left your throat.
“I’m right here. I love you,” Shota said, running his fingers through your hair.
Another look of fear crossed your face with a whine. You wanted to apologize and crawl into his arms, but your body stayed still. And your husband knew you too well.
“Don’t be sorry.”
You laid with him as spasms came and went, along with your awareness of the things around you. When you came to a little, your fingertips stretched out seeking his hand, so he reached for yours.
“Hey, babygirl. You with me?” he said.
“Mhm.” You still couldn’t move much. But this was something.
“Am I okay to carry you?” Shota asked.
“I… think so,” you said.
With relative quickness and the ease of a practiced hero, he gathered you up in his arms and carried you to bed.
・˳ . ⋆ .˳⁺⁎˚ ⋆・˳ . ⋆ .˳⁺⁎˚ ⋆・˳ . ⋆ .˳⁺⁎˚ ⋆
You laid in bed with Shota, your head on his shoulder, finished dinner plates on the tray he’d set at the end of the bed, and sighed.
“Sometimes I really hate all of this,” you said. “I hate that you have to do so much for me. You’ve got enough to handle.”
“You’re the love of my life. Why would I leave you to suffer?” he asked.
When you stayed quiet, he continued. “It’s give and take. You do just as much for me.”
“I know…” you replied. “Sho?”
“Mm?”
“If… if I take care of the dishes, will you take a bath with me?” You played with the hem of his shirt.
Shota smiled softly. “You want daddy to wash your hair, baby?”
A grin pushed at your cheeks. “Maybe, yeah.”
“You don’t need to do anything to have that,” he replied. “I have the energy tonight. Let me take care of you.”
You hugged him tighter. “Thank you.”'

I'm a disabled caregiver
And
Today we took our irl friend (who's an age regressor) toy shopping and for the first time managed to walk with our cane. We were able to walk around for more than 20-30 minutes without it without pain. I'm glad that they, (our friend) was understanding when we requested to get our cane from their car. It feels nice to know we weren't judged for being disabled and also being able to take care of a little one <3

You know what annoys me most about the entire Yagi and Inko bashing? Canonically EVERY adult has failed Izuku, every single one of them, (even Aizawa, especially Aizawa). However it's only Yagi and Inko who realized their own mistakes and tried to make amends and yet it's them who get most hated meanwhile Aizawa did fuck all for Izuku and yet the fandom treats him like a sagely perfect teacher because muhmuhm he expels kids to give them fear of death

I tried making comics
How’d I do?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have a new found respect for comic makers; like, the hell? How you get everything so consistent?
Anyway I definitely was thrilled at the idea of Leo and Aizawa bonding over being traumatized, accidental-parental-figure, disabled gays.
The difference between the typed words and my handwriting is horrifying.

part of me wants to write dilf aizawa but i just don’t feel like i could do him justice if he still had both legs and eyes, like just an au where many events in the war arc didn’t happen. a feel good au. i do that with a lot of characters already bc my goal is happy feels and i don’t usually want to focus on hard topics, but most if not all of the characters that i’ve aged up well past that were fully able bodied to begin with.
it feels like i’m… ruining his character and taking part of who he is by leaving it out. but the truth is that i think it might take him a long time to even give a shit about sex and relationships after that if hizashi isn’t in the picture. he’s got a whole grieving process to go through and relearn how to navigate life as an amputee and a hero forced into early retirement. that’s a lot. then there’s also the aspect of trying to understand and write sex with amputation in the picture. definitely not impossible bc that doesn’t stop normal irl people from having sex but as i’ve said before - particularly on stuff like that - portraying what’s realistic is incredibly important to me, especially as someone who has in small and big ways struggled with disability over the years….
idk. maybe my avoidance is just another reflection of internalized ableism bc i know i have plenty when it comes to myself.

Hi ^^; .. (tldr at the bottom + bit of a rant I think) ⚠️ vent-ish ? ⚠️
Tumblr media
We're gonna take another break. but this time it's mental health and not physical like the first time. The truth being Tumblr is a very stressful place, and it's hard to keep in touch with followers and make sure every follower that follows us actually is SFW or isn't something that is against our boundaries— all that. We love everyone here, we love Interacting with our followers and we love it when people come to us and say that our blog makes them happy. It makes me happy as well. But unfortunately no matter what we do, and no matter how much of a personal safe space we try and make this account, it just crumbles in the end. Our safe space is invaded, and no matter how much we block or do ANYTHING to stop them, they keep coming and it's exhausting. As someone who's asexual and a caregiver who is SFW (obviously) I never asked for "x reader" that is INFESTED with things we don't want to see, it damages you. Even as an adult (minor bodily) it does alot to someone and it's slowly making our safe space into something we are scared of. We don't want anyone to worry about us, this is mainly why we're removing the "ask" box on our account. We don't want to attention seek, or seek pity. We need a break and the last thing we want is people getting worried. We are fine, I promise. We are taking a break, because if we try and keep going we might just delete/purge this blog. And we don't want that so—
↓↓↓↓
Tldr; taking a mental break for (unlisted) amount of time. During our break our ask button will be disabled. So please don't contact us, even via message. Don't worry about us, we are fine. So please don't worry. We love you all 🖤

so, my main hcs about aizawa:
• pronouns are it/they. ("he" is acceptable in unfriendly environment)
• it is nonbinary trans (agender) because they doesn't understand the idea of gender.
• autistic. that is why it is so sensitive to logic, rationality and rules. in addition, their clothes look very soft and spacious (like a sensory paradise), and aizawa literally sleeps in public in a bright yellow sleeping bag (if you have any questions about their understanding of social norms).
● has did (dissociative identity disorder), ocd and avpd.
• aroace & queerplatonic gay. also polyamorous.
• has physical disabilities. specifically, congenital heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis & me/cfs. the main symptoms are chronic fatigue and chronic pain (look in my eyes and tell me that aizawa is not experiencing chronic fatigue and pain). no, it will not be normative on any point. /hj
• versed in mathanalysis, especially good at statistical analysis (a consequence of special interest).
• its special interest in childhood became quirks, so they spent hours studying the open state register of quirks. many years later, it is still: a) interested in quirks and the principles of their work; b) remembers descriptions of some quirks by heart along with registration numbers.
• well versed in computers and programming. indirectly, this is indicated by the initial quirk test. by the end of the lesson, aizawa was able not only to compare and analyze the results of each student in each test, but also to do it clearly with some corrections (otherwise the same midoriya would hardly have been in last place, because some students did not receive any benefits from using quirks). most likely, aizawa used some kind of program for this, which it could have created itself. detailed discourse about the initial quirk test will be in a separate post.
• in addition to homeroom guidance, they teaches theoretical heroics (yes, this is atypical for japanese schools, but we are talking about a conditional future, so the education system in japan may change). also a consequence of a prolonged special interest.
• mild dyslexic, so they have the most disgusting handwriting in the ua staff room. difficulties with reading and writing are directly proportional to how tired it is. in a sleepy state, they rearrange the kanji in places or replace it with "similar" (according to his brain).
• loves "hand puzzles": all variations of the rubik's cube, uncouple-two-parts things and so on. under a good mood, shares it with his students.

The Snapping Thread by wildflower warlock
After a brutal suicide attempt, Shoto is at death's door, and Aizawa is out of options. He enlists Eri's help to rewind his condition by a few hours, but high emotions lead her to rewind him all the way back to five years old. Because of the recovery time that Eri needs before she can reverse her rewind, Shoto has to spend a week as his five-year-old self, with no memory of the bizarre, clingy people that call themselves his classmates.
