DEAR DISABLED THERIANS.
a short positivity post to remind you all that you are loved, important and valued in not only the therian / alterhuman community, but in life. take care of yourselves.
Tumblr media
to the therians who use canes and wheelchairs, you are no less of a mobile creature for needing an aid. whether your theriotype is a fish, a domestic cat or a wild canid — mobility aids are found in most, if not all, species out there due to the help from humans. if you had been born in the right body, you would be given the same sort of aid. i promise. it isn't shameful.
you have carpal tunnel and feel left out because you're a wolf who was born to run and hunt elk? that's great!! i bet you'd be great friends with this guy :0}
Tumblr media Tumblr media
to the blind and / or deaf therians who are told that their theriotype simply wouldn't survive due to their blindness — this simply isn't true. there have been many cases of blind or deaf animals surviving, look at this wolf as an example! and bare in mind MOST cases of blindness are partial, but this old gal is pretty much FULLY blind, and she's doing fine. why wouldn't you?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
to the therians who have some sort of learning disability, it does NOT make you an idiot. i tend to see a lot of critters with stereotypically intelligent animals (think elephants, border collies, etc) as their theriotypes and feel worried due to their disability. you aren't dumb, you aren't "mentally not there", you aren't any of the mean things you've been called throughout your life. there ARE animals with learning disabilities, you would not die in the wild for having one just the same as you would not die in a domestic household for having one (or many)
Tumblr media
and to those who have any other disabilities that i didn't mention in this short post, you are enough. you don't have to prove your therianthropy to anyone. if someone ever insists that you can't possibly be your theriotype because you are disabled? ignore them, they're lying and just trying to make you feel terrible about yourself. it's hard being disabled, it's hard waking up in pain and never not being NOT in pain, it's hard knowing that there are folks out there that'd demean you just for being disabled, it's hard needing mobility aids and not being able to afford them, it's hard when people think that you're stupid or less deserving of respect because they don't deem you "all there".
i love you all, those hardships are something that you shouldn't ever have to experience.
take good care of yourself if you can, and if you can't? get yourself that sweet treat you've been wanting, eat your favorite candy before a savory meal, give yourself a well deserved hug and watch your favorite show.

Reminder for any other physically disabled therians-
Main therian content posted online (mainly tiktok) is quads & while that’s one way people connect with their animal nature, it’s not the only way or the “right” way at all. It’s not something all of us can do & not something all of us are interested in.
This is just a reminder it doesn’t make your experience any less than other therians, I’m here with ya. I hope you can find & pursue whatever feels just right for you

hey everyone! i’m a therian under 18!
i have a question: why do a lot of therians my age or younger seem to be obsessed with quadrobics? i don’t know if i just haven’t seen the right people yet or if this is actually a thing. it’s just really discouraging for me as a disabled therian because it feels like i’m missing out on what these people are experiencing
edit: i do know that you don’t need to do quadrobics to be a therian, i would like to think i have done extensive research on therianthropy and have labeled myself as a therian for a bit over 3 years now!
i just want to know why therians that are minors tend to do quadrobics a lot and why some exclude those that can’t do them or think they’re not cool or something ;-;

thinking about how i wouldnt have been able to hunt with my pack makes me kinda sad. the other wolves would have noticed i wasnt as fast as them, and got tired too easily to catch anything. id stay at home and protect the pups while my family went hunting. its not the usual life for a wolf, but its the best id be able to do.
while the other wolves chased after elk, i'd sit under a tree by our den, tail swishing in the dirt as my siblings chewed on my antlers and rolled around in the mud. i'd show them the skulls that i'd picked up around the woods. i'd tell them stories of the wolves that came before them, of the journeys the pack had gone on. and when the sun went down, we'd lie on our backs in the dirt, looking up at the stars, wondering if the stars were watching us too.
i can't run very far, and my body will always hurt. but i swear by my heart i'll watch over this den. i'll protect these lands until the day my bones give out on me.

little rant
I hate being a disabled therian, I can't really do quadrobics or my body start to hurt to the point of where I can't stand. I have therian and quadrobic friends and they expect me to do quads with them but then I have to say no because I feel like im gonna fall at any moment. Sorry about the little rant

it's always "i don't judge !!" until a person is a therian or just nonhuman in general, their religion is something they don't agree with or don't see as a "real or valid" religion [like satanism or autotheism], they identify with xenogenders and use "weird" pronouns, they have a "cringy" style like emo, scene, goth, or harajuku fashion, they're disabled, they act childish and age regresses, they have extreme intrusive thoughts, they have "odd" interests, they don't have proper hygiene because of poor mental health, their identity "doesn't make any sense", they're "too fat" or "too skinny", or they're just "not attractive". stop cherry picking, you can't claim "you don't judge" when you can't accept these people. be better.

hot take that should be much more lukewarm than it is: if your feminism doesn't have room for piercings and tattoos and dyed hair and collars and animal ear headbands and stuff like that, it's not really all that feminist.
people can just do what they want. if they want to get cosmetic surgeries or use different names or pronouns or dress "weird" those things are just allowed. cringe is dead. doing things that don't affect others in any meaningful way but make you feel good is good.
people can decorate their mobility aids. wear clothes with metal studs on them. go out in horrendously loud tie-dye mess clothes. we love that. that's bodily autonomy for you.
being loudly queer and gay and trans and a feminist and disabled and a legitimate animal and a furry is cool as fuck actually it's 2023.
use whatever swear words you want. the weird old WASPs giving you stares are because they're not as cool as you.
this also goes for kinks and those who (safely and consensually) practice them btw, even that one you find weird.
"bodily autonomy but only for people who make the same decisions as me about how to decorate and use theirs" isn't good feminism practices.
go forth and be safe ofc but above all be yourself

Uhm, for my 100th post.. I wanted to do that one trend with the likes. I only have, like, 35 followers so I doubt this'll gain traction, butttt, worth a shot. 'X)
15 interactions I'll make a YouTube video tonight
25 interactions I'll work more on my mask
40 interactions I'll start eating healthier
80 interactions I'll clean my room (which is a depression nest rn)
100 interactions I'll wear a tail to school
150 interactions I'll do public quads and post it on my YouTube
200 interactions and I'll start working out every night
250 interactions and I'll get my chronic pain checked by a doctor for athritis
300 interactions and I'll start an Etsy for gear
400 interactions and I'll tell my friends about my therianthropy and explain to them that I'm physically a wolf
500 interactions and I'll start seeking out therian friends and start guitar lessons
I'm only gonna go until five hundred because I doubt this will get past 40- but hopefully I'll get there someday ^^'

Someone in our discord found this helpful, so we're posting it here with a bit of added wording.
You can be incorrect about your experiences but that doesn't make you fake, it just means you misunderstood either what you were feeling or what a term meant. And that's okay as long as you don't lie once you know you're not a [insert identity here]. You're never morally wrong for being incorrect. Faking is a conscious choice, being wrong about your experiences is not.
You're not faking if you don't sit down and think "how can I make this seem legit" or "I want to pretend to be this today". It can feel bad and confusing and all brands of horrible when you realise you were wrong about a label you placed upon yourself, but it's more beneficial to you and everyone else to admit that you were wrong, you're able and allowed to make mistakes just as anyone else is, and now you can learn from them and know yourself better.
No one knows what they are from the moment they're born, give yourself some space and time to relax and not get caught up in worrying if your experiences actually fit into a nice little box or not. In the end, they don't even have to fit into anything.

People who try to justify queerphobia by saying that we have mental illnesses/are delusional are so stupid because not only are you being queerphobic but you’re also implying that the disabled are undesirable and it’s okay to hate on them which is blatant ableism!! I am going to rip out the entrails of anyone who says shit like that!!
