I see your Babygirl Casting, and I raise you... This chart.
Tumblr media
At this point I may as well write a scientific dissertation on the phenomenon of babygirlism and all of it's derivatives.
Using our previous definition of "Babygirl" (a grown man who behaves in questionable and/or problematic ways) and working with the data extrapolated from my existing research, here are the conclusions I was able to draw:
Tumblr media
Some subjects are not pictured (such as pathetic/type: malewife [Diavolo] among others) for the sake of brevity
As well, there was one outlier that defied all attempts at classification, and as such was reclassified as it's own unique specimen:

Thank you for your time, gentlemen

I loveloveLOVE the idea of a FarmSim! AU! Like yourself, I assume a lot of us weren’t raised as farmer’s children, and more or less grew up on Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon. (Altho I do know a bit about living in Indiana, land of the Corn and home of the Indy500, if that counts towards anything lmao). In any case, I hope you like mytake on the Sides!
In terms of Farm Sim tropes, I’d be willing to say that The Royals (Dia, Barb, and ‘Phisto) are a part of some sort of local govt. bc I cannot see them as knees-in-the-mud farmer types lol. Maybe the farm is the “ROYAL FARM OF DIAVOLO” or something to try and convince Dia’s (not-in-a-self-induced-slumber) Mega-Corp father that farms are important, and corpo factories are bad. Diavolo has no idea how farming works but he likes to watch and play with the baby animals. Barb does not appreciate the farm visits bc Dia gets super excited and cannot be told “NO” if he wants to walk across a muddy field and up to a bull like “You are a fine specimen! A complete winner!” Luckily he is blessed with “Animals Love Me” kind of luck. Barb makes sure to get the Young Master dressed appropriately for next time. You need to talk to Barbatos about ordering tools, supplies, and contractors to build/repair things like stables, wells, and greenhouses. Mephistopheles takes care of the buying and selling of animals, and you gotta “prove to him” that you can be responsible enough to handle a horse (he does inspections of the farm and makes EVERYONE take riding/horse care tests).
The angels run the local cafe/store where you can get food and seeds, among other things. They buy your products and sometimes make presents (like sweaters made from your sheep's wool). Simeon and Luke run the Cafe side of things, while Raphael runs the store. Since Luke is a bit young to be running a business, he’s more like an assistant baker and he runs the morning collection at your farm. When he has time, he’ll sing to some of the animals.
Thirteen would probably the the Farm Sim Mine Spelunking Monster Trapper or smth like that? She’ll toss some coin your way if you bring her monster parts or rare ore, and maybe she’ll give you some “recipes” to make mining tools/weapons/traps.
And like... How funny would it be if Solomon just... didn’t change? Like at all? He already fits the “supernatural element” of other farming sims. An interesting and mysterious figure that lives just on the edge of the village. If you come to him with the monster parts/ore instead of Thirteen, he could help artifice some of your farming equipment with special traits, or craft potions that help you talk to animals or w/e.
IDK what do you think?
PLEASE I AM LOVING IT.
Okay okay so I totally agree about Diavolo, everything about that is spot on. He's fascinated by farm life, but knows nothing about it just like he is with humans in the game. Totally gets himself dirty because he just wants to experience things! Come on, Barbatos it'll be fun!!
And the corporation dad, that is perfection, too. Of course Dia's trying to convince his dad that farms are good!
Barb is forever suffering lol. While he does have a garden, I can't see Barbatos doing any kind of hard farm work either. He's definitely more suited to getting permits and such, but I could see him frequenting the angels' bakery because he likes to cook. They swap recipes a lot. Maybe he hosts the cooking competition, mostly because I think that'd be so funny.
Mephisto as the animal guy is perfect, you better believe he's gonna make sure your horse area is up to par before he'll even consider letting you have one.
Love the angels running a cafe and store, that's something I could easily see them doing. And oh my heart Luke singing to the animals!! My precious baby son. I kinda see him also being partial to flowers in general, since that's the only thing he's grown in the actual game lol. Maybe he starts making bouquets or perfumes...
Oh man Thirteen as the miner/monster hunter type! She's got a forge and spends untold amounts of time wandering the woods.
Solomon is such a menace and honestly I can't see him doing anything other than being the supernatural being. I keep thinking of Witchie from Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon. Like it'd be funny if he was more like Dessie and lived in a pond, but let's be real, he's definitely the one making weird potions and magic tools and such.
And of course all the characters are also marriage candidates, so if you marry Solomon, he's gonna come live with you on your farm. Spends all day in his wizard tower on the edge of town, but at night he comes home to his lil farmer spouse lsadlkjdfjkfdkjl.
Wow my worlds are colliding so hard right now I can't even deal with it. What I wouldn't give to have all these characters in a game where I could deliberately pursue and marry one of them!
Anyway, I totally love this and your ideas! I'm pretty sure I would do some unspeakable acts to have an Obey Me farm sim game like this.

Cursed/fallen heroes that are also string instrument players... take a break for a bit!
Kard hanging out with @nonetoon's Florian. It occurred to me they're both musicians who lost their voice and arguably their entire friend group. Hang in there, guys!

"You will ALWAYS be alone." - Flurry Windenmere
So this is one of many drawings to come of our dnd party. While I would love to talk about how cool we are, I am instead going to write a list of our worst moments.
Flurry Windenmere
- Let a man fall to his literal death, despite being able to prevent it.
- Told her name to an evil fairy
- Lost her job + got slapped on the street by her former boss
- Doesn't know what a god is
- Ate sus snow and "tea leaves"

Ah. No. Sorry, bad wording. A demon *can* make an amulet. Most probably don't have one. But a demon lord can afford to have one since they have the resources to keep it safe. What I meant is that, since it's practically guaranteed a demon lord would have one, it would thus be necessary for the hero to find and destroy it, much like you would need to find and destroy the phylactery of a lich, because otherwise the demon lord wouldn't stay dead.
Most demons don't have one cause, much like knowing their true name, you can use a demonic amulet to control a demon.
I believe you! I will believe literally anything anyone tells me about DnD official lore, because I'm still learning and there are multiple official (and unofficial) takes on everything anyway.
I appreciate you trying to explain this mechanic to me, anon. But if demonic anything was to come up in something I was writing, I might just make up some new nonsense anyway. In my 5e game last night, I had my character do something during a tense moment and shout, while she was doing it, "I don't know if I can do this!" and the GM, bless him, let me. The way I play and think about DnD is carefree and very annoying. I hope this helps

And when Barbatos does get his full power back? I can only imagine he continues to be a butler (at least part-time!) bc he actually kinda enjoys it. Something about the idea of “Deities Serving Their People Helps Grow Their Power And Secure Their Immortality” is a cool idea to me.
Fixing up the town does raise the question, why don’t the royals just pay for it? But I think it’s simply the matter of “Dad doesn’t like my idea and won’t financially support me or my friends, so I’m on my own money-wise”? Which I’m sure Dia is okay with that because it just means it’s going to bring people together to work towards a common goal!
Levi confirmed hardest marriage candidate lol! I know in some farm sims there are second towns, or import shops. And you know how in stardew, part of the bedroom changes to accommodate for the spouse’s interests? Maybe a special marriage requirement for Levi is Internet Connection. Which in real life, it’s difficult to get any signal out in rural areas. If I were forced to live in a rural area, I’d probably marry the person with the strongest wifi too skdjfnjinvsd /hj
Maybe to accommodate for lack of gifts, you could also ask your chosen bachelor/ette to hang out, or you could go on certain quests for them? Many Farm Sims, in my experience, don’t explore other love languages beyond Gift Giving, and I don’t think I’ve seen a mechanic like “Quality Time” outside of cutscenes. They could be like multiple-choice events. It could help with characters like Levi and Satan, who you could take to the “local pub/community hall’s arcade corner” or “the huge library in the next town over”. As for quests, one example comes to mind like, Belphie wants sushi for dinner, but this farming town doesn’t have anything fancy like that, so you have to create three or five different sushi dishes, three of each, for the whole family. Everyone gets two hearts, but Belphie will get like five hearts or smth like that. OR! Not just building a library/museum for the town but also filling it up with books and mining artifacts, and it keeps building on Satan’s hearts! Or doing favours for the Little D’s so they can magically fix up the arcade corner of the pub/community hall. Just to toss out a few examples!
I like feathers! Or maybe the token can be something personalized that you can’t just buy or craft normally? Or MAYBE the marriage token could be like… A magic golden apple? In the OG game there’s a significance behind apples, especially between Diavolo and Lucifer (spoilers I won’t get into for everyone’s sakes)! A magic golden apple could be small enough to make into a necklace pendant, and will never rot (probably inedible anyway lol). It could be anything really.
Also I don’t see any issue with keeping the demon/angel elements. They could still be mixed into the game. I can see pacts turning into benefits, like a pact with Asmo can help you charm animals or collect hearts faster, or a pact with Mammon can bring more wealth for your crops! Maybe a full 10-heart friendship with Luke could give you the ability to heal your animals of illness! Though things like that could be less magical if most characters were human, which I also don’t see a problem with. Like maybe a Max Friendship with Satan could unlock a Barn Cat minigame where you can catch rodents and stave off the need to repair animal stables, or Max Friendship with Levi makes the fishing minigame ten-times easier, or unlocks a Charmed Golden Fishrod.
I have no experience in game development, but I would definitely make a fangame free for everyone to play if I could! I might just draw some concepts for funsies tho!
Okay, I love all of this!
Barbatos getting more powerful just by helping his people out? Yes forever.
And I think the family disapproval thing is a theme in some of the games, too. Like in Trio of Towns, the MC has to prove to their dad that they can even be a farmer to begin with and they have to do all these stupid checklists for him. So I could easily see it being like Dia's dad doesn't approve, so you're on your own, but together we can prove that it's doable!
Okay I love all the ideas you have about marriage candidates and gifts and such. Because I personally have never played a game where the only way to get them to love you was gift giving and festival participation. And the emphasis has always been most on gift giving. I love the idea of there being like specific quests or other such things that somehow incorporate the person's interests. Someone get Levi that internet connection!
Oh I like the apple! It really could be so many different things lol!
And yeah I was initially thinking the pacts in place of the marriage token, but I much prefer that like once you get to full hearts, you can make a pact with the demons. And then for all the characters, these different things give you different perks! I loooove that!
I also have zero game development experience, all of my knowledge comes only from playing games lol! I'd love to see any drawings you do, though!

guy who woke up in a pool of blood surrounded by bodies in a ruined tavern and went ‘huh mustve been a hell of a bar fight. kinda sucks i dont remember it’ and then realized he didnt remember Anything and then pulled a shard of mirror out of his chest and it froze itself over once out and his reaction was still just ‘huh okay’ and when he left the tavern he realized the entire surrounding village was dead and as he poked around he realized it based on the aftermath it kind of seemed like everyone had just gone crazy and started killing each other and the sum total of his emotional reaction to that was a sort mild longing, and so he just gathered up some supplies, turned the remaining animals loose, and wandered off to start his new life.
