The 22 degree is Capricorn ruled and so as such, will give Capricorn like traits to whatever planet it has grasp on. The 22 degree is known as the "kill or be killed" or "assassin" degree. Normally when I hear about this degree it’s most of the time negative, which in a way, is understandable. However having this degree in your chart shouldn’t make you scared that bad things will happen to you. The 22 degree can manifest really positively in a persons life but it can cause some hardships as well. All in all, this post isn’t meant to scare anyone who have these placements.

Warning: mentions of religious trauma, abuse, addiction.

I’ve noticed people with this placement, myself included, tend to be very restless.

There is a constant need to complete or finish something, but we don’t know what it is.

Many people in my life who have this degree in personal planets, especially on their sun, north node and ascendant, tend to have no idea what they want to do with their life.

They have a strong knowing that they have a mission or purpose in this lifetime but have no idea what this mission/purpose is.

People with the 22 degree on their sun go through either many ego deaths that help them overcome subconscious blocks that stood in their way, or have one long drawn out ego death that can last several years. This obviously can be seen as a bad thing, but the journey is worth while, and in the long run it is beneficial.

Venus in 22 degree may possibly experience a lot of abuse and misuse of power within relationships, physically and mentally.

Neptune in 22 degree may struggle with addictions and in worst cases can lead to life long damages to the mental and physical health.

Having Neptune in this degree also can tell you that you may struggle with maladaptive daydreaming and find it hard to break free from delusions and fantasies you have created within your head. This would be amplified if Neptune is in the third house or is in conjunction to Mercury.

Ascendant in the 22 degree may feel at times they want someone to control and fix their life for the better. These individuals may feel very tired from constantly being in control (in unhealthy circumstances they can be super controlling of everything in their life, sometimes the people as well) and turn to others to help let them rest.

Asc in 22 degree may funnily enough also have a saviour complex, esp if asc is in virgo/pisces. They could easily help others take control of their own lives and could be seen as the "stable” friend that is always there for everyone. Deep down they just want to be taken care of.

If the Asc is in contact with venus or has major aspects to planets in the second or 7th house, these individuals could rely on relationships to feel wanted.

What Asc and honestly Venus in 22 degree need to learn is that they are doing fine on their own, and while it is definitely more than okay to ask for help, they can learn the importance of being independent and standing up for oneself.

Uranus in 22 degree can result in someone who is unpredictable and could have constant change happening to them. The worst case I’ve seen where this degree has fully taken a hold of someone is in Andrew Tates chart 😭 Bro has a sagittarius sun conjunct uranus, both of which are in the 22 degree. Ofc if you have these placements it doesn’t mean your like him, it all depends on how you choose to let these placements manifest.

Venus/Asc in 22 degree may have low self esteem and don’t regard themselves as attractive . These natives are genuinely beautiful but they just can’t see it for themselves and tend to pick themselves apart ( this is esp true if venus or ascendant is in contact with neptune)

Moon at 22 degree may have issues expressing their more emotional and or feminine side. Depending on aspects, the sign, and where the Moon is placed in the chart, this could be due to childhood and environmental problems, where you may have not been able to freely express your emotions.

Similarly, Mercury at the 22 degree can indicate struggling with freely expressing your opinions and thoughts.

^This also goes for people who’s 3rd/9th house are at the 22 degree.

In terms of health, the 22 degree could show us where on the body we could experience pain.

For example a person with mercury at the 22 degree could have lung problems, Jupiter at the 22 degree could indicate dealing with kidney problems or pain in the thighs.

Moon at 22 degree could indicate having issues with the mother, same goes with sun (father) at 22 degrees.

Having sun or moon at the 22 degree could also mean that your mother or father exudes Capricorn like traits. They could be hardworking and focused on their career while providing for the family.

Mercury at the 22 degree could indicate having a speech impediment when younger or rather being scared to speak because of the way their voice sounds.

Mercury at the 22 degree can achieve a lot through their voice once they overcome self limiting beliefs that had to do with their voice/education. These people can make great singers, reporters, writers, literally anything speech related.

Saturn at the 22 degree could indicate having strong and life changing karma in this life time.

Saturn at 22 degree could also mean struggling to stick to a routine and finds it hard to do things long term, (relationships, career ect)

Jupiter at the 22 degree can also indicate a person who struggles to get back up after dealing with setbacks in their love life/career/academics/money ect. This is because Jupiter rules faith and wisdom and with the 22 degree here, it can make one easily spiral into their failures.

However through these setbacks that a individual with jupiter at the 22 degree can experience. They grow stronger and wiser, and eventually after dealing with these failures, nothing can really stop them.

Lilith at the 22 degree may find it hard to express themselves. Some individuals with this placement could be repulsed by provocative and sexual things but deep down, they just don’t know how to express that side of them. The other half with this placement could be actively seeking how to express their inner dark feminine but find it hard to connect with it.

Chiron at the 22 degree can indicate experiencing something traumatic and life changing . Whatever was experienced, individuals with this placement turn their trauma into something they can help prevent and heal others with.

Individuals with Uranus at the 22 degree could experience many troubles and go through bad things online.

Having a house at the 22 degree gives insight into where in life you may have a figurative death/problems.

First house: Dealing with insecurities about physical appearance, not knowing or understanding your place in the world, confused about identity

Second house: Issues with finances and money, over spending, could have a deep rooted fear of living in poverty and not having much money, this could be a wound one carries because of financial struggles when they were younger, self-esteem issues

Seventh house: toxic relationships, karmic debts within relationships, not wanting to marry, troubles with business endeavours, could attract toxic people.

Eighth house: issues related to sex, scared of sexual related things, could have experienced gone to funerals a lot, near death experiences, troubles related to witchcraft and spirituality, superstitious.

Tenth house: death in career, fear of being viewed badly by public opinion, struggling with fitting into society’s standards, could have a very beneficial career that puts you into the public eye, problems with authority figures and the father can arise.

Eleventh house: not fitting in friend groups, could indicate having toxic and bad friendships, people with the 22 degree here may feel their manifestations and wishes will never come in.

Twelfth house: Having subconscious feelings of doubt and worry that set you back a lot, death related dreams, could dream a lot about death and or fighting for your life, could have a lot of people praying upon your downfall from the shadows bc they’re "hidden enemies"

i'd love to hear about his little habits headcanons!! and disability ones

as to small habits, a lot of these are based on his background and how i think he was raised- i believe most of the time he has incredibly good manners, and i'm not even talking about what he learned at the manor; i mean simply being considerate and polite when interacting with civilians. things like tipping generously, taking his shoes off when entering someone's house, keeping his space as clean as possible etc. i also like to think he was brought up with his parents reminding him of value of their belongings (since they did not have much and needed their appliances etc to serve them as long as possible) and so he takes care of his things and maintains them well, mending his own clothes etc. in general, i think he's very particular in terms of housework and perhaps a little obsessive about it, as it helps him to maintain an illusion of control during moments when he is out of mask... (and his mask is usually a buffer between him and simple life, so he needs additional systems and rules to maintain this distance...) of course i think he gets worse at all of these things sometimes, especially when he's at his lowest and doesn't have the energy to keep up even with the most natural and ingrained into him routine...

oh, he also loves lists. and he loves handwriting and physical paper in particular, both in his personal life, as well as when it comes to returning to traditional media and techniques in detective work when possible (even though he's obviously proficient in technology). he often fiddles with pen as he writes things down.

he has a lot of quirks when it comes to the way he interacts with people... he observes them quite carefully (as a kid to understand their expectations and as an adult out of paranoia) but if he talks to someone and truly listens or speaks carefully himself, he averts his gaze and looks into a completely random direction.

as a child he liked to maintain some sort of physical contact, even indirect; he would hold bruce's cape or just one of his fingers once he got more comfortable with him, touch donna's and barbie's hair etc. he sometimes slips into these habits and does some of it post-death too.

regarding the second part of your question, i'm not too keen to share my specific disability headcanons because esp. considering mental health-related ones it can get messy, but i can tell you i think there's definitely something wrong with his brain, if not because of the amount of trauma then also because the lazarus pit actually rewriting brain tissue couldn't come without consequences... i'm not really talking about the magic itself, but given lazarus simply heals injuries, the *freshness* of this healing would definitely reflect some issues that regular patients have; i believe jason would still have to relearn some things and that he would lack built resistance to some external factors, hence making him more sensitive. this would incline him to pursue training with an intensity that could cause further damage... which leads me to a pretty generic headcanon about chronic pains of all kinds.

Now given his sleeping patterns, it is a little hard for the both of you to meet up for any kind of outings, these would mostly be happening later in the evening and into the night given his aversion to sunlight, but he manages to work his schedule just right between his unit work and when he sleeps. He will always make time for you.

Another cat lover! Perhaps the both of you would like to go to a cat cafe for one of your dates? It would be something that he would find both enjoyable and relaxing, especially if you get to be there with him.

His schedule is quite busy sometimes given the work he has with his unit, Knights, but if you would like, you could always join him when they have practices and lives. Honestly, the thought of you being in the crowd and cheering him on makes this young vampire smile.

Speaking of his unit, the others absolutely adore you and they protect their own, and given that they now see you as one of their own, they will protect you just as you protect Ritsu. It is what a Knight does, after all.

Ritsu is big on giving you those words of affirmation. He may not be too much of a talker, and he really isn't that down on himself, but he would never want you to be down on yourself. He wants you to know that he is committed to this relationship no matter what it takes.

…realizing that aesthetics actually matter a lot to me as both a matter of personal expression (read: a bit of independence) and External Dopamine because Variety (a bit Visual, sure, but I’m honestly not a “Visual Person TM.” It’s just not how I, say, learn. And as a more immediate thing I’m far more Aware of textures and definitely sounds.)

…is a bit overwhelming. In that I do find my hackles raising a bit when someone else tries butting in with what I can/can’t have when money isn’t a factor; while also feeling Incredibly shallow and vain because I do like “pretty things” and have sensitivity to if a composition isn’t just functional but also Interesting and Inviting (and that nasty socialization of “that’s for Kids or (Nerdy)Men.”)

(Also ofc there’s money involved. When isn’t there any.)

Ben 10 lore that exists in my heart regardless of canon

- Ben’s personality in his mid-late teens is a mix of his Alien Force and Omniverse self. On the surface, he’s very cheerful and kind even if he is a bit of arrogant showoff. He makes jokes and plays around and acts as if he isn’t bothered by the things in his life. Those who know him best understand a good portion of his outward confidence and cockiness is just a facade to cover up his insecurities and to project the ideal, effortless hero. While sometimes seen as immature, most beings know Ben 10 means business as he takes his unofficial job and people’s safety very seriously. He’s clever, adaptable, charismatic and empathetic which makes him a formidable opponent and a loyal friend. Doesn’t open up easily but if you get to him, he become so dearly attached.

- Drinks smoothies so much for several reasons. Comfort food go brrr, reminds him of the good easy times with him Gwen and Kev. It’s also a light but generally nutritous food to give him energy for heroing. Anything too heavy and he’ll be puking (both from physical and emotional stress). Though he jokes about his mom’s health foods, his are a crazy concoction of add in proteins and vitamins/minerals bc he knows he’ll out and out collapse without it. (Still has on occasion bc boy still doesn’t eat right/enough)

- While Fame is exciting for him at first he soon begins to detest it. Not the fans, no, he can’t bring himself to hate the people who look up to him. But he hates the constant attention, that he can’t walk outside without being mobbed. the only place he feels safe is his hometown where most people are so used to him and his weirdness that they don’t react much anymore. Takes to wearing a cape and face shield when going out anywhere so he can actually get things done without being recognized and mobbed.

- Part of the reason Bellwood isn’t concerned with Ben is partially because ben’s been weird and alien for as long as they can remember but also many don’t realize how famous/powerful he is. Yeah that’s just Ben Tennyson over there, sometimes he turns into funny creatures- wait what do you MEAN he’s the savior of the universe?? He cried over a spilled smoothie the other day.

- Does mostly online schooling by the time he’s 15. At first he tries to do half day things to maintain something of a normal life but it quickly becomes overwhelming and dangerous him/the school. Finishes his GED early but the Plumbers and Azmuth make him take additional college level and alien courses to prepare him for his future role. Ben gripes but really does love learning all these things, especially on his terms (ADHD and stress + the public school system do not always go hand in hand). He’s a quick learner when he deems the information important and is made accessible to his learning needs.

- Ben definitely has ADHD speaking of which, it was nearly uncontrollable as a child bc his free-spirited parents didn’t believe in medicating. Ben convinced them he needed it and after some trial and error, found meds that worked. As he became more involved in heroics/growing up he had to change his medicine regimen (resulting in him being a bit more off the rails in OV) and needed antidepressants and therapy to manage it better. As an adult he has a whole litany of coping mechanisms (good and bad yes) and regularly checks in with his therapist and doctors to keep things under control.

- Has a complicated relationship with his necrofriggian children. Considers himself their mother and worries after them. They too feel a connection to their parent despite this being unusual for their species. A few visit (some more than others) while they grow while others maintain distance. Ben never breathes a word of them to the media for fear of them being targeted. Still he keeps an eye on them and ensures all 14 mature to adulthood (another rarity for the species). Checks in every now and again with the ones who don’t want to see him and those that do. Two join the Plumbers and Ben is both proud and worried. His youngest becomes partners with Rook Ben.

- Just in general loves kids, they’re his favorite fans and while he’ll grumble at pushy adult fans he always smiles and kneels down for the little ones. Not so secretly wanted to have children of his own but knew it was a risk overall and used a lot of that energy with mentoring and teaching. Eventually had Kenny later in life (late 30s-40s) and was over the moon, becoming such a loving and doing parent or as much as he could be with his hectic schedule.

- Omnitrix can’t come off, never has at any point since it first latched onto Ben’s arm. Azmuth tried and failed to get the device off, doesn’t let Ben know for many years as he feared the consequences. The watch loves and protects Ben even beyond it’s programming making him much more durable to damage and releasing energy charges when he’s threatened. Not even removing Ben’s arm would separate them. They’re stuck for life.

- Ben does have Anodite heritage but the Omnitrix actively suppresses it and uses the built up energy to power the transformations which is why ben is mostly unaffected by what should cause a massive energy drain on him. Theoretically if Ben learned to harness and safely use his Mana at an early age like Gwen he would have been fine but letting it build up without safe outlet meant activation would have killed him. Omnitrix Ben, however, went his whole life not knowing of his latent abilities and how the watch saved his life.

- Ben’s eyes get more green and glowy as time passes from the Omnitrix. At first they think its a trick of the light but by the time he’s an adult his eyes are pretty much glow in the dark. His veins light up too after long stretches of using the Omnitrix. Its vaguely unsettling to people who aren’t used to Ben.

- Max and the Earth Plumbers work so, so hard to keep teen Ben on Earth when half the universe is blowing up their comm lines asking for The Ben 10 to help with whatever problem of the day. Ben himself doesn’t quite understand when he’s younger the prestige and expectations on his shoulders. Max throws up a million and one roadblocks so Ben can live as normal a life as possible while he still can. Still, while doing that he Still overloads Ben with expectations and responsibilities on earth and beyond. He becomes a soldier again with Ben as their greatest weapon. He never forgave himself of losing sight of his grandson underneath the hero esp after Ben’s breakdown.

- Rook partnership with Ben ends not long after Omniverse with his promotion to Magister. Ben tries to play it cool but the thought of another loved one/teammate leaving his tears him apart. Max revealing that Ben most likely wouldn’t get a new Plumber assigned partner since he’s almost an adult and won’t need it and Rook accidentally missing their last smoothie run due to a scheduling mishap causes Ben to snap and have the nervous breakdown that had been building for almost a decade. He completely loses it for a little while and needs to take an extended leave of absence from school and heroics that lasts about a year. Spends time recovering both on Earth and Galvan Prime, does some diplomatic training, learns about aliens, actually confronts the stress and loneliness of his life. He comes out the other side stronger but still fragile and exhausted.

- Ben’s above mentioned breakdown brings him closer to all his friends who didn’t quite realize the extent of Ben’s burden. Rook had been under the impression Ben didn’t like him all that much so the knowledge that his departure was the final straw for friend/hero’s collapse was shocking. Ben and Azmuth also become closer, the Galvan becoming fiercely protective of the boy seeing as his Earth family didn’t do well to keep him safe. It takes years for him to get over his anger at Max for putting so much on his grandchild. Ben makes more friends, in and out of the hero business, finally gets a therapist and gets some of his burdens eased a bit. It’s not a sure fire fix and Ben has several smaller breakdowns the rest of his life but its something.

- Azmuth was straight up suicidal before he met Ben for the first time. Ben gave him back hope for the universe and his ability to create items for peace not weapons. The boy infuriates him, frightens him, frustrates him but Azmuth cannot deny in his heart of hearts that he loves Ben dearly. He’s very upset at Ben’s breakdown and doesn’t know how to handle the worst of the initail outbursts. Azmuth talks Ben down from a suicide attempt. He reaches out to Ben that he Too felt overwhelmed by pressure, thought himself only good for war. Ben’s arrival in his life saved him and now he will do the same for Ben. It’s the first positive step forward in Ben’s recovery.

- For no other reason than I like it, Azmuth primarily refers to Ben as Benjamin (mostly to annoy the kid but he likes the way it sounds too) and Ben in softer, more serious moments.

- Professor Paradox continues to flit in and out of Ben’s life. He says its because Ben is the most equipped to handle universal peril (true) but he’s also just very fond of the boy. Ben, existing in so many forms and having such importance also exists a beat outside of normal reality which Paradox identifies with. Ben is naturally attuned to time related problems because of this (instantly IDing Spanner as from the future before being told later deducing him to be his unborn son). Plus Ben named him, way back when. He’s just drawn to Ben.

- Adult Ben, while being seen as an impressively skilled fighter and champion, really has his strength as a universal diplomat of sorts. Based out of Earth, he helps mediate and defuse conflicts, advocate against tyranny and overall preserve peace and balance. He’s not perfect, he makes mistakes and sometimes is forced to become violent (and yes kill) but overall is regarded as a peacekeeper, something younger ben simply couldn’t understand.

- Gwen gets her degree and primarily does work with advocacy and teaching about magic/alien culture. While she and Ben are still close, there’s a bit of a frustrated divide in that she isn’t helping him share the burden of the universe. Gwen never wanted to be a hero and has enough worth to not shackle herself to a job that’ll burn her out. Ben loves heroing but gives too much of himself away trying to fix everything. They get into screaming arguments that it wouldn’t be so bad out there if she just helped him but she refuses to budge and says he shouldn’t make himself do so much. They always make up and thy still are each other’s closest relationships.

- Ben marries Kai in a political move, Kai is Asexual and Ben Aromantic. They didn’t love each other but they got on well enough and Ben was really feeling the stress of carrying the hero burden so Kai also being involved made him feel like he wasn’t alone. Both were also so tired of the universe constantly asking about their love life and said ‘fuck it we’re married leave us alone’. Gwen was always mad about it feeling Ben deserved better but the two of them were happy with it. They had separate rooms, mostly separate lives but they became strong friends and supports with their strictly platonic marriage. They had Ken via Invitro in an incubator and were loving if extremely busy parents.

- Also from the moment he appeared, Ben knew that Spanner was his future son, Kenny. He played ignorant and then was kind of deliberately teasing him in future encounters. He knew the rules of time and didn’t want to disrupt things further even if he was angry and worried as heck about why Ken felt the need to time travel. When future Ben catches up in the timeline, Kenny gets SUCH a lecture.

- Ben isn’t quite immortal but he’s also not entirely human anymore either. The Omnitrix not only keeps him safe from most harm but it lightens the effect of aging. Ben 10 is active many, many years when most humans would have been forced to retire. He’s not sure how long the watch will keep him alive and it terrifies him. Gwen too is functionally immortal however she ages like a normal human, then when her natural death came, shed her skin and became a fulltime Anodite. So in the end, it was her and Ben together wondering which of them will die first. Gwen has trouble retaining her humanity as pure energy and swears she’ll let herself fizzle out when Ben goes. When that’ll be however...

I just realised some thing... (I am very much spit balling here) Gideon's body! If you think about it, in the epilogue of HtN, whom ever is piloting Gideon's unwilting meat suit, they are aware that: 'One goes to work'' (to provide for them) "One takes care of her" (cause she cant be trusted not to shove her hand in a deep fat fryer to grab a battered sausage - same Gideon, same! It's a whole ass mood, bbz.) and the third is sickly, but is implied takes care of the house and teaching the autopilot body. (And we can safely assume seems to be in the throes of depression and because of AYU, its a good bet that she's suffering from chronic pain! Hugs for Judith.) (more under the cut.)

Needless to say, the three musketeers are doing their best to eek out a living, and also try figure out who the hell is in Gideon's body. (I mean shoving your hand into a deep fat fryer with no regard for safety could quite easily be Gideon whose a bit of a dumbass (affectionate) and loves her food OR Harrow, who quite frankly probably wouldn't give two shits about damaging something she can so easily fix. Esp after the reveal that the meat suit didn't rot n even critters wouldn't touch it!) (It's a 50/50 , cause the three musketeers have some idea of how Lyctorhood works, esp with Pal hitching a lift in Cam...but the Three Musketeers dont’t have the meta data we do to jump to the conclusion that Gideon is basically Jesus! Yes, they are aware that it could be someone else, put they are really hoping that it isn’t.) (yeah, it just occurred to me that The Locked Tomb prayer, of pray that the rock never rolls away, has some pretty close Easter/Jesus imagery of rocks rolling away from tombs of death, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) Annnny waaay. Finally getting to my point. The main point being, they are taking care of Gideon's meat suit! And I realised that, it doesnt matter if its Gideon OR Harrow.... the person piloting it seems to have amnesia, meaning they can't remember how they were raised in so much grief and suffering. They are getting a fresh start, surrounded by love and affection! A reprieve. A breather. Yes, being refugees on strange planet is not ideal. But they have Corona, who comes home more than likely exhausted but with a smile on her face. (She has purpose, she's doing something important. She's important to people she cares about. ) She's happy to come home to her weird family. Her 3 girls! You have Cam, who is sweet, understanding and patient. (her love language is so loud in AYU, though she says very little.) Helping the body learn how to function, taking care of them in the gentlest and affectionate ways during a person's most vulnerable time, ALA baby. (You don’t do that for someone unless it comes from a place of deep affection) And finally, you have Judith, though in the throes of grief, (quite possibly still having blow outs with Corona cause she can't accept their situation nor her feelings for the Princess of Ida....Also, being massively physically active and then being confined due to illness can have a huge affect on someone's mental health.) She's still attempting to teach the meat suit some form of education. Yes, this can be seen as a ploy of Judith, a sliver of hope that whom ever is in there might be loyal to the King Undying and help her escape, but it can’t be denied that there’s still a level of affection there at its core.. It’s a love and affection neither Gideon or Harrow have ever experienced! A foul mouthed, lewd minded sword swinging dumbass (affectionate) and a prickly bone gremlin (affectionate) made such an impression in a few short months, that they have three people, who up until recently were relative strangers - each in their own way - showering them with love! even in the most dire of circumstances. They have people watching over them, protecting them and begging for their return! When they do come back, fully, what if they cant remember their up bringing? Even just for a short while? What would that look like? What would Gideon or Harrow look like, not twisted by pain, hurt, grief, abandonment, guilt? But surrounded by love and affection? ........ ....... Also imagine, when Gideon's body came to life and walked through that door? the reactions!! I’m pretty sure Judith probably shat herself! Once over the initial shock, Corona would have barrelled into the body, hugging it tight. And Cam, rather warily I suspect -- cause yeah,dead body's don't just up and walk about unless a necromancer is hovering around -- after thought and consideration and a chat with Pal... was more than likely happy that Gideon was 'alive' and showed that in her own way!

someone who strives to conduct her life in a way that is consistent with her principles. She has found a way to be an activist in a very hands-on manner, doing her part. She follows current events through independent, in-depth media (rather than social media or daily news outlets).

someone who is financially independent. She knows exactly where her money is and has no debt. She is able to both save and donate money every month.

someone who structures her time in a way that takes into account both her responsibilities and her needs. She spends time with her close friends and family members and nurtures these relationships. She fulfills her obligations on time and with a minimal amount of stress. She knows how to gracefully say no to requests. She makes sure to have a lot of time to rest and recharge every week.

someone who looks elegant and a bit whimsical. She spends a minimal but consistent amount of time and effort on her appearance. Her environment is cosy, somewhere between a countryside manor and a cottage, with extra comfort and shiny trinkets.

Plans for the year ahead...

October - Literature A month to get back into reading, especially classics and novels. So… set up a TBR, read every day, reread an old favourite of mine, limit the number of crime novels to 5 for the month, go to the library regularly, schedule a shopping session in a beloved bookstore November - Thesis A month to jumpstart the final version of my thesis and finish my degree. So… have a whole chapter written up by the end of the month, get in touch with my committee once it’s done, set up regular back-ups on my hard drive and online server, stock up on food and lofi playlists December - Care A month to take care of my body and make myself feel healthy, rested, and strong. So… breathe & stretch once a day, exercise once a day, go on a walk once a week, take regular bubble bath, put on moisturising lotion every day, do my skincare routine every morning and evening January - Looks A month to create my own style and streamline a routine to look my best everyday. So… put on makeup every morning, create a capsule closet based on what I own, identify what’s missing from my closet, pick a perfume that fits me, wear sparkly jewelry and bright lipstick and high heels at least once a week February - Play A month to take the time to play, especially video games, and set boundaries regarding my work life. So… review all the video games I own and list those I want to revisit, play at least twice a week, play in bed with good music and snacks when it’s dark and cold outside March - Career A month to prepare life after graduation, taking stock of my current professional life and setting myself up for success. So… update my CV, curate my online presence, create a database of all my professional contacts, reflect on my skills, experience and goals ikigai-style April - Plants A month to learn about flowers, plants and trees, their uses and symbolism, and roam all the parks and gardens I can find. So… learn about three new plants everyday, compile botanical informations in a notebook and review it regularly, walk in forests and parks, get bouquets from a florist once a week May - Mental Health A month to understand the way my mind works, take into account my specific needs, and set up accommodations. So… read up on relevant topics, list possible accommodations and implement them, identify what exhausts me or stresses me out, spend a couple days on my own June - Future A month to reflect on what I want my life to look like and identify how to get there. So… envision what I want my life to look like in 1, 5, 10 years and plan accordingly, recap where I’m at (esp. regarding administrative stuff and finances), set up my medical appointments for the year July - Food A month to enjoy delicious, healthy, fulfilling food & drinks. So… have breakfast everyday, go to the farmer’s market every week, list restaurants and dishes I want to try, take pictures of all the delicious food I get to try, set up a small liquor cabinet August - Culture A month to take advantage of the vibrant cultural & artistic life around me, leaning in what interests me and discovering new things. So… subscribe to newsletters about culture & the arts in my city, pick an event to attend every week, go to the theater, visit a new city, find new artists whose work I love September - Journal A month to document my everyday life and create memories. So… fill up my weekly calendar, post everyday about the highlights of the day, collect stuff, take pictures at least once a week, reread my old journals & notebooks *** Picking 12 traits wasn’t easy, but I keep some goals for future guides (re-learning German, playing the piano again, spending more time with loved ones) and purposefully exclude others (esp. anything that has to do with socialising more, losing weight, being more productive).

I'll post a detailed guide at the start of every month to keep myself motivated.

“What is with the Blake / Yang hate this week? Folks seem particularly fired up.” I asked this question on a forum because of something I’ve noticed the last few days on discussions about Blake and Yang/Bumbleby/shipping in general. I keep seeing the same answers. “It ruins the team’s dynamic.”

Welp, I’m pretty certain none of those people would say that Raven/Tai and Tai/Summer ruined the team’s dynamic. Or that Ren and Nora are currently ruining the team’s dynamic. What is this holy than thou crusading to protect the sanctity of the team dynamic? Rwby has always been first and foremost about interpersonal relationships. It’s what drives the actual plot. Character growth, failing relationships/friendships. How they change over time, either to grow or crumble.

“It’s being shoehorned in, for fanwank.” How? How is it being shoehorned in? Give me a narrative breakdown as to where/how/when this occurs? Compare it to the Sun/Blake narrative and show me the glaring differences between the Yang/Blake narrative to prove that bumbleby was never planned yet blacksun was? (Sidenote. Anyone that has been asked to do this on the forum has yet to do it.)

“Yang showed interest in boys.”“ Yes, yes she passed comment once. In vol 1 episode 1. 8 VOLUMES AGO. She has shown not a lick of interest in guys since. Its almost as if she’s like any normal 17 year old girl who is growing into adulthood and figuring herself out, who might be realising her interest in Blake isn’t strictly platonic and is trying to navigate that whilst also grappling with what that means with regards to their friendship. And dealing with an over arching situation that is, ya know, potentially the end of the world as they know it. It’s about two years in universe, right? Which is about right of an amount of time for what its happening between them to play out. It only feels like longer to the audience because, well, its taken 8/9 years to tell the story up until that point.

“The Fans are too loud/vocal/come on too strong.” Ok, this one I agree with, we are loud and vocal and that might come across as coming on strong (here’s a huge) BUT, there is actually a genuine explanation for why it seems that way. If you really think about it, objectively.

Hear me out. Fans are excited about the potential representation we don't otherwise usually get in media. I mean, if you have 10,000 pieces of media and only ONE of them represents lgbtq people, of course we’re gonna be excited and talk about the ONE quite a bit with others who are like us. This might also be the first time we’ve seen anything like this, or seen ourselves represented in a somewhat positive light. It stands to reason that the other 9999 pieces aren't going to hold our attention as much, esp if its the same hetero romance played out a bajillion times before, right? I mean, if you have a group of people who are constantly represented in the 9999 other shows, their voices are going to spread thinner, right? They aren’t going to be gathered all on one place, talking about the same thing because there are 9999 other choices to connect them to other people. They aren’t going to care as much if their straight ship happens/doesnt happen

“Hey, I can move onto another piece of media that is churned out by the status quo. No big deal.”

Hetero romances are ten a penny. Flick through netflix, hulu, crunchy roll etc. Where as if you have a group of people who are only represented in ONE show out of the 10,000 those people are going to gather in one place to connect with others and its only going to seem like they are louder due to the densely packed space. These same people have been majority silent about the other 9999 pieces of media as their voice isn't usually represented in a positive light - being queer characters are usually brutally murdered or sidelined. (Thankyou Hays Code.)- or not even represented at all. (Bury Your Gays is a trope for a reason, folks.) And we are NEVER the titular characters. We’ve been living on crumbs and subtext for decades! Not to mention showrunners who actively queerbait the hell out of us for ratings and viewership. The almighty Pink Pound as its often referred to in business. “But why do they have to make them gay?” You’re not made gay, you’re born gay. It just takes longer for some people to realise than others. It can be a gradual realisation. And this is quite possibly the case with Yang/Blake, slowly coming to realise their own burgeoning sexualities and attraction to each other.

”Why do they have to be gay?” They don't need a reason to be queer! They just are! Queerness is only a part of a person, not their everything. It’s actually quite refreshing to see Yang/Blake being portrayed as much more than their potential sexuality. Ask yourself, ‘Why does a character have to be straight? And why doesn’t a straight character have to constantly reaffirm their sexuality? Why is ‘straightness’ assumed by default?’ Heteronormativity, is something that has been perpetuated by decades of media. (helped by the Hays Code with its out of date moral code. To be other is to be punished within the narrative.) That straight is the default setting. It’s not! We exist! Everywhere! We always have and we are going to talk to each other about it when we see a glimpse of ourselves represented in what has been a relative Sahara Desert when it comes to queer content were we are not villainised. “The romance is detracting from the plot.” Two seconds ago, people were claiming that the romance was none existent. Which is it? But Nora and Ren’s romance that is being held up as a mirror to bumbleby is fine? That Jaune relentlessly pursuing Weiss was perfectly ok. Queer people have had to stomach literal 100′s of years of straight media forced upon them. Since the very conception of the written word and narrative storytelling. In plays, theatre, art, music, tv, film, on billboards, advertising, in places of education and learning etc etc. Queer people are bombarded with it whilst also being surrounded by negativity towards queerness.

Is this because decades of media have perpetuated the false idea that all queer people are sex crazed perverts? That you’ve been groomed into thinking that queer sexuality is only based in the act of sex itself? That queer sexuality couldn’t possibly be similar to heterosexuality in its expression?

That it couldn’t possibly be about attraction, emotional, mental and maybe one day blossom into physical between two consenting adults, a pure expression of love the exact same as heterosexuality.

That some how queer love stems from some sort of deviancy or mental health issue. That queer people are some how bad or evil, and therefore their expression of affection is wrong? Oh, I wonder where those beliefs have possibly stemmed from? “Why are they in my face?” part three. 50% of of the titular cast are potentially queer. Blake and Yang. But if you look at the overall cast ensemble that runs at minimum 16 any given volume, that’s a measly 12.5% (prolly a lot smaller if you actually counted the whole cast that appears in rotation each volume) Also, someone did the math. Blake - a titular character- actually has less spoken lines that Jaune. ffs. B&Y spent neatly a whole two volumes of 8 apart. 25% of the narrative as it stands on entirely different continents.

I fail to see how it being in someone’s face could be the case.

That’s ok and perfectly valid But listen when people who have lived this experience are telling you that their experience is being portrayed on the screen. That they see themselves being represented. OK, This completely got away from me. In conclusion. They are more straight people than queer people and media often reflects that. We are usually the silent minority, we are sick of it but we are used to it and we are very excited that things seem to be finally changing.

It’s two characters in an large cast in ONE show out of 10,000. Its a piece of media that, for a change, hasn’t been 100% curated for straight people. We are often not allowed to play in the sand box and if we are, we’re told to play with the broken toys, be grateful and quiet. So when we are given a sandbox to play in with new unbroken toys, we are gonna dog pile in there and make a ruckas, calling our friends over. What I’m trying to say is, it’s gonna get rowdy. and here’s something to think about. “When you are used to privilege, equality feels like deprivation.”

I grew up with a sister who arguably lived in mental hospitals all over the country and my mother was constantly in n out. this went on for about 8 years, my sister still lives there, and tbh nobody ever gets better from a mental hospital, at least not in the UK. they're some of the most toxic and unhealthy places imaginable, the staff are so overrun they only give help and support to those who look like they need it the most, which creates this competitive atmosphere abt who's the most sick. most people have been there for years and have lost all touch with reality and have absolutely no intention of rebuilding their lives, or maybe they'd like to but they can't remember the last time they crossed a street without staff so now they're too terrified. sometimes these places stop people from getting worse, but only because it shocks them to see how broken the rest are, that's pretty much the best you can hope for. they might stop you from killing yourself, but you'll have to put up with the extreme verbal abuse of overworked, scared staff and physical abuse from other patients.

that’s awful. im really sorry about your sister. i guess im under no illusions about how there really is no help for mental health here, but it’s just so crazy how they can see ppl struggling so much and still turn them away from getting support. even if the actual support is more like abuse. ive never thought about how the patients must try to out do each other in order to get the medical attention they need due to the staff being neglectful and/or underfunded. that environment is aggressively not conducive with any sort of recovery. it makes me pretty sick. these are such vulnerable people and all they get given is more trauma when they reach out for help. and reaching out for help itself takes years. i hate england. it’s such a failure of a country on literally all fundamental levels and everyone continues to accept it. idk why we act like we have a functioning healthcare system esp in regards to mental health. we absolutely don’t. i feel so hopeless.

🧡 Compare and Contrast with the gender or gender expression of another muse, whether a friend or another muse of yours.

Felix's presentation can vary a bit, but he's genetically a bit androgynous, it seems, and a bit pear shaped while still having decent body hair, facial hair seems to be growing in later IRL. To put it simply, there's trans guys who've been on T for maybe a third or just as long as I have, who look like lumberjacks, so some of his facial hair and shape may simply be racial in nature, what with the splash of brown and japanese in there. But, naturally as an animal crossing character and being homo, he will more comfortably wear femme-coded clothes such as dresses, frilly/lacy shirts, and doesn't mind maintaining the curl in his hair via a bit of length. His voice cracks a lot, this is puberty setting in, but it's not uncommon for gay guys to also crack out of their range if they're being particularly camp. Having a newer transition in general can make him seem young at times (though, he's also a little person, so height dysphoria gets thrown out the window, there.)

Shulk's muscle growth was likely quite the difference visually or otherwise, He seems to be completely comfortable going out and about in just a swimsuit and jungle wear. He doesn't seem to look after much else, simply wearing what's practical or comfortable. He may have more ease with his voice, as it's a little smooth and deep (esp in english), although perhaps that comes with more practice at a younger age, since he transitioned ASAP.

🍷 How open or out are they about their gender? topics regarding gender? Are they hiding anything in particular when it comes to strangers?

Felix muse is totally stealth, outside of sexual partners, best friends, and maybe, other trans people if he gets comfortable with them. It's always been a pretty private thing for him, which led to a late transition; Basically Master Hand found out and acted immediately to set up surgery and hormones, and would not tolerate his fighters binding or risking their health. In worst case scenarios, it's a full change of identity, he doesn't even reintroduce himself properly;;;;

Shulk is completely out, and full of pride; I doubt he's had heavy experience with transphobia, however, as his world's population was abysmally low and accepting.

Despite animal crossing's setting calling for it, I'm not fully comfortable with him or I being called they/them, I've got experience with it as a TERF dogwhistle, to degender as a 'compromise' to avoid gendering correctly. Don't do that. Definitely don't try to defang his gender by using they/them after finding out he hasn't had bottom surgery. I do try to be understanding towards strangers, but even well meaning cis people at my job are also guilty of using the They Of Fear, as I'm mixed-passing IRL atm, so experience transphobia from transfemme, transmasc, and nbphobic angles daily on my shifts. So I've got mixed feelings on they/them, especially depending on intention. Also, at some point I HC my villagers to gain the power to transition physically, via transformation...Felix is not there yet, he has at maximum another 20 years left in him to master the magic. But I'm not sure if anything beyond hormones will happen, bottom surgery wise, for a few reasons.

As for Shulk, his world is so Sci-Fi esc, that his transition has a lot of potential??? To start with, he makes a Wish with godlike power which would be enough to do the job all on its own, Meanwhile, postgame technology is written to be able to basically grow a character's whole body back, save for a head, so??? What's to say they don't have to tech to fuck with his goddamn DNA or organs??

Basically Shulk's reproductive future is up in the air, as I didn't originally HC him to be trans until a bit later. All I know is that he will not carry with child, as he's had bottom surgery prior to the game. He could be infertile and adopt, or he could have had his balls finished via Wish or Science, lmfao
