[ID: Two photos of a dark red t-shirt painted with the Insulindian Phasmid from Disco Elysium. In the first, it is worn by Ruby, a tall thin white person with short dark hair and a tattoo of crows on one thigh, along with black shorts and a spiked choker. The second is a closeup of the messy painting, done in pearl, light brown, and green. There are three apricot blossoms in one corner. End ID.]
I love this! Samantha found this Victorian sofa on Marketplace. She dyed the entire fabric green, painted the wood black, painted these frames and candlestick holder to match, made pillows, and painted the inside of a Christmas ornament green to make a faux crystal ball.
I love the backlighting and someone posted a pic of Absinth- very cool.
She also posted the paint recipe she used: 2 parts latex house paint in satin (Behr- Park Picnic), 1 part fabric medium (whatever is cheapest will work), and 1 part water. She then sort of stained it in 4 layers by painting it on with a paint brush and waiting for it to dry in between. The first layer kind of looked like someone spilled green juice all over it!
I think it’s technically edible? But it’s famously disgusting, to a point where a lot of people have stories of trying to drink it and finding out the hard way that it’s horrible. I’ve never tried it myself, but I’ve heard tales. None of them are good.
TUMBLR CULTURE, FOLKS! Remember the cake? The mostly vanilla extract cake? The polls that followed? Vanilla extract represents everything the website stands for. Vote vanilla extract!
I want to make things and I've thought about making an etsy page but i want to make things specifically for people, y'know? I love making things that are unique and personal to me or for my friends, etc.
Anyways (i know this might be a shot in the dark)
With a leg of tour in session and another leg coming up, if anyone wants some wearable fall out boy shit i'll make it for you
finished a totebag commission for a friend! I painted the squid with fabric paint and refined some of the details with embroidery. the bag was assembled from scratch too. first time installing a zipper ever and ir went surprisingly well ✨
operation cool rwby hoodie part 3! parts one and two here!
discovered through trial and error that tulip soft fabric paint is the way to go! the red one has a neat distressed look because i was using the remnants (ha) of an ancient bottle from ages past, vs the bright blue of plentiful fresh paint! there's some spillover and accidental pokes on the blue and red hoodie, but i haven't sent it through the laundry yet and I'm hopeful that paint will fade first. either way, I'm really happy with how it turned out!
Just a small collection of hand painting I have done, and the cosplays it went on! My own (the witch, the bunnygirl), and for customers (Azula, the gown, etc)!
