More pictures of The Shirt!
My projects keep being decided by random bits of nice fabric I find at the thrift store, and this time it was a big piece of 100% cotton voile in a spectacular shade of red that just looked like it wanted to be a dramatic shirt.
The fabric was only a metre wide and had nice selvedges, so I cut the sleeves and body the full metre wide, and it's fine enough that the bulk wasn't a problem. The rest of the cut and construction is the same as my usual 18th century machine sewn shirts (which I swear I will make an updated tutorial for before the year is over - the shirt post I keep linking people to is almost 4 years old and I've made improvements since then).
The fabric was $3, was in 2 halves that were zig-zagged together for some reason, bled a lot of dye into the sink when I washed it, and still smells a little bit weird even after washing. I hope the rest of the dye stays put because I really don't want this colour to fade.
I kept a timesheet for this and it took 13 hours and 12 minutes, which I think is pretty good. That includes the time spent making the 2 thread buttons for the collar.
(Also there is no drink in that brass goblet, only some dust and a small pinecone.)

Rose Ribbon Embroidery "Mini" Projects (for BABY NYFW) Part 2: Embroidered Bonnet
I decided semi-last minute to attend BABY's fashion show at NYFW!
BABY had mentioned in their NYFW brand description that their newest collection would be a return to their origins, as well as presenting archival items.
You have to dress to impress for NYFW, right? So of course, I had to pull out all the stops and wear my Rose Ribbon Embroidery.
Also at the last minute, I decided to make a few extra complementing items...
A matching RRE kumya JSK, and a bonnet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What follows is more of a sew-along/journal rather than a tutorial or guide, mainly for my own memory's sake. But if you enjoy looking at my process (sometimes sloppy), I'm happy!
Also feel free to take a look at the more romantic process video I edited.
Part 1: Kumya JSK
Part 2: Bonnet (you are here)
This post will be my process pictures and notes for the bonnet, as well as a matching mask as a bonus.
I don't believe BABY released matching headwear for Rose Ribbon Embroidery, although I've seen an unknown velveteen headbow with rose lace sold with RRE before.
BABY usually coords RRE with the bunny ear bonnet since Ichigo wears it this way in Kamikaze Girls.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I do own this because I wanted to wear an Ichigo-like outfit at some point, but for this occasion I decided to do something different and make a "matching" embroidered bonnet.
I originally wanted to make a hard bonnet with a very defined brim that could show off the embroidery clearly as I don't really like soft bonnets, but when looking at existing BABY bonnets as a reference, it doesn't look like hard bonnets were a thing back in 2004 (and as it is, BABY rarely releases hard bonnets). So to keep with the oldschool theme, the bonnet is a soft one, although I later make some decisions to make it slightly more structured.
The next decision to make was full bonnet vs half bonnet. The bunny ear bonnet is a full bonnet and I think this is technically more "period accurate", but I am not a fan of how they look like a weird hood from the back so I opted for half (plus, that makes construction and patterning easier for me).
I still used my own bunny ear bonnet as a reference for approximate brim dimensions!
The kumya JSK was a little easier to carelessly sketch out and embroider since I was copying 1:1 from an existing design, but I felt I needed to do at least a bit more careful planning for the embroidery on this. I'm quite bad at creating embroidery designs from scratch, but with the mental image of the rose clusters and swags of vine, as well as referencing the embroidery from the film, I came up with this:
Tumblr media
I wanted to emulate the embroidery style of the Momoko's (well, in reality likely the embroidery designer Onoe Megumi--unclear if she did the actual embroidery, but it's likely) embroidery, which I figured wouldn't be too difficult if I was also embroidering by hand.
For material, I am using the same velveteen I used for kumya's JSK. Not my first choice and I actually purchased some thicker looking 100% cotton velvet that I thought would be more similar to the original JSK material, but was worried it wouldn't arrive in time and wanted this project out of the way in case things went wrong/took longer than I expected (it did arrive about a week before the event, but it was totally wrong IRL so I'm glad I just went with this acceptable option). I also bought some more torchon lace, so I used that and another lace from my stash.
The colours of the embroidery in the film also seem to be quite different than BABY's dress. I'm not sure if the pink of the roses has faded over the years, but it has a slight salmon tone whereas the film's roses seem to be more of a pale cool/neutral pink (hard to tell with the yellow tint of the entire film) with some variegation. I love the colour scheme of the film's embroidery, but to keep things coordinated I try to opt for the same colours as the actual dress I have.
I only have white silk ribbon in the width I wanted, so I opted to attempt to dye it to match. Previously I have used alcohol markers to colour the embroidery afterwards, but I find the colour hard to control and it tends to bleed into the fabric. I've also tried colouring the ribbon with the marker before embroidering, but without heat setting the colour transfers onto the fabric as well (and it seems like trying to do so with the amount of ribbon I need would be a waste of ink).
I don't have a lot of experience with it, but since the ribbon is silk, acid dyeing seemed like the way to go.
Tumblr media
Very interesting photo of ribbon in pot (the pink ribbon gets eaten up by pinwheel roses much faster than I expected so this is the second batch I had to dye--not ideal as they are definitely slightly different in colour but it's not too noticeable). In total, I think I had to dye 3 batches of ribbon and 4 for the pink ribbon as I just barely ran out near the end, and they are all slightly different colours. Thankfully the undertone is the same so it's difficult to tell unless you are really comparing up close.
I thought I would take this opportunity to use the "peach" acid dye that I bought years ago for another project, but this ended up being a mistake as the colour was totally off (maybe the red dye was too expired). I ended up using my regular fiber reactive procion dyes (with heat/acid), because I have many more colours I could mix together, and that was much better. I really should have done this from the start as I wasted perfectly good silk ribbon by making it too dark/off for my purposes (I ended up overdyeing it in pink so it's a usable colour now, but not for this project).
The silk seems to take on dye extremely fast--even just heating up the dyebath will colour it. In some cases I removed the ribbon before adding any acid at all because I felt the ribbon was already getting too dark.
Tumblr media
I managed to get a fairly usable mossy green colour for the leaves and vines, however the pink still ended up being a little off/dark compared to whatever BABY used. It's not too bad here as one strand of ribbon, but when many layers are on top of each other in a rose it seems pretty dark. While not ideal, I think it's still okay, especially considering the embroidery colours used in kumya's JSK match nothing else (many pinks will be going on in this coord).
After dyeing and drying, the ribbon is super wrinkled so I ironed it and wound it on some spare card so it's ready to use.
And now I can start the arduous process of embroidery.
Tumblr media
Like before, I mainly use a combination of ordinary ribbon stitches, pinwheel roses, and french knot roses. However, this time I try harder to duplicate, or at least evoke the appearance of the embroidery of the film.
It's interesting how plain and somewhat boring the roses look on their own, especially with this monotone colouring. The varied colours of the film's embroidered roses are lovely, but I decided against it here because the BABY dress has monotone ribbon roses.
Tumblr media
The roses definitely seem to just be pinwheel style which is very easy and doable, however I am a bit more confused about the leaves. They look like a number of straight stitches in various lengths and directions that fill in a leaf-like shape. I have no idea if this technique has a name and if there is a proper method for it, because I am a silly beginner who is very uneducated in embroidery.
Anyway I do my best and hopefully I got close enough. Ribbon embroidery is really all about the texture, which is really lovely to look at. Except I have trouble looking at my own work for too long because I start nitpicking all the mistakes I made...
Tumblr media
Adding the green and leaves really helps the embroidery come to life.
I took even fewer pictures of the embroidery process than kumya's JSK this time because it's not that interesting. I was definitely getting sick of doing the same pinwheel over and over...
Tumblr media
I stupidly decided that aside from embroidering the front of the brim, I also wanted a little bit of embroidery on the back of the brim for interest, as well as on the side.
The designs I drafted out for these two pieces is much simpler, but still, more work....
Tumblr media
Almost ready for construction! Hopefully a lot faster with the handwork out of the way.
Tumblr media
I iron on some interfacing onto the back brim panel and the bonnet band for slight extra stiffness.
The bottom part of the brim is plain cotton sateen because I was worried that the part that touches the head would get dirtier more quickly it if was velveteen.
Tumblr media
I wanted some lace gathered around the brim and an extra velveteen ruffle on the back of the band, so I prepare that now. The lace is gathered with a single gathering thread and sewn down before sandwiching between the two brim panels.
Tumblr media
Brim sewn and topstitched (and band is ready for attachment).
The upper flowers ended up a little closer to the top of the band then I intended, but I think it's okay.
Tumblr media
Gathering brim and attaching it to band. Because the velvet fabric is so thick, the usual "sew one line of stitching with a wide stitch length" not only made the fabric incredibly difficult to gather, but the thin polyester thread also continually broke when trying to do so. Therefore, I opted for an alternative method I think I'd remember seeing in my sewing machine manual of all things--a zigzag carefully stitched over a central gathering thread. This worked much better, although I probably should have used a thicker/extra strong thread as the central gathering thread because it did break the second time I had to gather the brim due to a mistake.
Tumblr media
I also add a bit of lace to the inside of the brim. I think this adds some luxury and frilliness between the head and the bonnet's brim, so I wanted to add a small width. I probably could have used even more of the lace's width since it turned out very subtle when worn. But I still think it adds a small amount of interest to the innermost part of the brim and was worth adding.
Unfortunately here after sewing on both brim parts I realize that I gathered both using an incorrectly marked centre line, so I had to rip it out and do it again ;_;
Tumblr media
Next, I can carefully align and pin the bottom of the brim to the bonnet and sew it down. I tack this down by hand because I'm not skilled/accurate enough with a sewing machine to topstitch both sides nicely at once (look closely, and my messy stitching is quite visible...)
Tumblr media
I also fold in the raw edges and finish the sides of the brim by hand, leaving some openings for ribbon ties.
At this point I spray almost the whole bonnet with water to disperse and fade my markings. Unfortunately, some of the earlier batches of ribbon that I dyed (Can you tell the variance in the 3 dye batches I needed to do?) were probably not washed well after dying and seem to have bled into the fabric from the water...but hopefully it's not too noticeable.
Next I topstitched all around the brim and attached the ribbon ties.
Tumblr media
I bought some double sided velvet ribbon in my last minute supplies shipment and made some bows from it. I think the material is a little thick and petersham would have worked alright as well, but the consistent velvet material feels more luxurious, doesn't it? I also think as an added benefit (?) the ribbon being plush and double sided made the bows more puffy looking.
I add some clips to the sides and a toupee clip to the top for security. I opted for a toupee clips because I think it's really the way to go if you don't want the head item to move at all, no matter how thin or slippery your hair.
Tumblr media
Finished.
Bonus 1: rose accent pin
Tumblr media
I was in a bit of a rush at this point as it was near the end of the week coming up to the show, so I didn't take any photos of the process here but the technique and templates I used were identical to my handmade faux rose rosettes I made for UM (and the bonus corsages). I have a post with all the details of this sitting in my drafts that I will post eventually, and I will update this post when that happens.
The brooch was just meant to add a bit of 3D faux flower accent to the bonnet, bringing in the rose motif even more. Partially inspired by the faux flowers BABY adds to their bonnets sometimes, like on Milk Tea Doll.
The fabric was "custom dyed" with the same fiber reactive dye I used for the silk. The fabric was further starched, cut out by hand, and shaped with flower iron tools before gluing together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bonus 2: matching embroidered mask
Tumblr media
I wasn't sure about whether or not I wanted to wear a matching mask, but decided to do so for situations when I would want my face at least half-covered in public. I didn't really expect to be visible in fashion show pictures as someone in the back, but just in case. (I think this decision was worth it, although my makeup transferred all over the thing and in most pictures my face was even more unflattering. eh well)
Tumblr media
I forgot to take a lot of pictures of my process for this, but it's very uninteresting and not dissimilar from every other mask sewalong from 2020. I draft out a design similar to the bonnet motifs on both of my mask panels (cotton sateen), and embroider.
I should have embroidered closer to the centre of the mask because when worn the embroidery is not very visible/covered by my hair at the sides. What can I do since the panels were already cut though...oh well!
The lining material is some Japanese CLEANSE Ex fabric I had bought previously to make masks during the pandemic. It's supposed to be antibacterial and antiviral, as well as washable, but I have no idea how well supported those claims are.
Sew together normally on both upper and lower sides, turn inside out, add a channel for nose wire and side channels for elastic.
I also have some mask elastic on hand so I use that.
And the finished outfit again with all my items~
Tumblr media
Thank you for reading! If you ever feel inspired to take up a similar project, such as the kumya JSK, I'd love to see it!

Cyber goth dress + my favourite way to make patches
I thrifted this dress a couple of weeks ago for £1. I believe it started life as some sort of costume, possibly a sexy firefighter, but the fabric is really good quality cotton, and I thought it had some cybergoth potential with the yellow and reflective bits. I also really like the metal fastenings.
Tumblr media
I already had a high-viz coat in my wardrobe from when I used to go bicycling more often, so I was able to steal more reflective bits from that. Not yet sure what I'll do with them, probably cut interesting shapes and glue or sew them on. Photos with and without flash.
Tumblr media
And then yesterday I got a half meter of cotton fabric for £1 which is an almost exact colour match, so I can make some stencilled patches.
I already had fabric paint at home, so this entire outfit has only cost me £2! Cybergoth clothing is usually super expensive.
Tumblr media
There are lots of tutorials for making stencilled patches on YouTube, (@rattusrattus3 has some excellent ones) but I lack patience and don't like cutting out intricate pieces, especially for lettering, so I had the idea to use alphabet stickers. You can pick these up really cheap from your local pound shop or dollar store depending on where you're from. I think mine were 40p a packet.
Tumblr media
Stick them to your fabric, use fabric paint and a sponge, then when you peel the stickers off you'll have the words in relief. You can go thicker than I have here to make the surrounding area totally opaque, but I like the edges being messy and faded out. These are both song titles from cyber/industrial bands that I like.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are some other examples that I've done in the past. These were all done with pound shop spray paint which isn't ideal for fabric, but it's cheap! You'll also get more of the original fabric colour showing through with this kind of paint, which is nice.
If you're using black fabric, gold or silver paint will generally work better than white. These are all Devin Townsend song lyrics.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only negative to this method for some people may be that the letters will be very uniform, but I like that. And if you want to you can space them irregularly to break things up a bit. Or you might be able to find more interestingly shaped alphabet stickers than I did!

Hii you're so talented!! i wonder if you could explain how you did this gif effect with the squares? and do you have any tips on colouring because yours is always top notch <3333
heyy thank you so much 🥹 and of course! i've never really done a tutorial before but i'll try my best to explain it in a way that makes sense 😅
Tumblr media
so i start off with making my two gifs seperatly and colouring them as i normally would, once i've done that i load both gifs into the same project and once i've done all that i started on the grid part:
now go to view -> add guides and this window should pop up:
Tumblr media
(it's was so daunting at first when i saw this i was like ????? and started putting in random numbers and was like oh that's how this works 🤣)
here's the settings i used for my gif which is 540px x 500px in size with 5 squares x 4 squares: (if you want more or less you just have to play around with it)
Tumblr media
once you've done that it should look something like this:
Tumblr media
now the next part is really up to preference again: add a vector mask onto the gif that's above the other one like this: (ignore the name of my folder that is irrelevant 🤣)
Tumblr media
and then i used the rectangle select tool (this is because the rectangle select should lock onto the grid squares making it easier to erase certain sections) + a black brush tool to erase the squares to show the other gif that's underneath (you can reposition both gifs to your liking which is what i did)
before & after:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so my vector mask looks like this afterwards
Tumblr media
(you don't have to do the squares so close together like i did it was just how i liked it & because of the scenes i had chosen that mine turned out this way)
now onto the grid lines: i used the line tool with these settings
Tumblr media
just like with the rectangle select tool the line tool should lock onto the grid line you want to redraw, do this for every line that you want/have for your grid & once you're done go to view -> clear guides and it should look something like this: (added a version with just a black background so it can be seen a little easier)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(i'm ngl idk why my lines ended up kinda faded and not white 🤣 i think it might be because i used a white fill instead of white stroke but it doesn't really matter to me because i got my ideal outcome anyway 🤣)
bonus step: you can stop here if you'd like but i wanted my lines to match my colouring & my intended typography so i put all my line layers into a folder and set the mode to difference & added a yellow fill layer with a clipping mask, like this:
Tumblr media
and it should look like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
you can also play around with the opacity of the lines too which is what i tried out but i prefered for my set the lines being at 100% opacity but it's really up to you with what you want to play around with
now once you're happy with everything merge those layers together (make sure they have the same amount of frames first before merging them) and either save as it is or add some typography like i did and you should end up with this:
Tumblr media
for tips when it comes to colouring it really depends on what you're colouring, if you want to manipulate the colours as much as i do i recommend choosing a colour within the scene so you're not having to change too much, or finding scenes that have colours that can be manipulated more easy (any colour that aren't skin tones, unless you're working with red or yellow like i did here, i chose yellow because one of the outfits in the gif was yellow toned and it looked better with the gifset being yellow than my original colour which was blue), also looking for scenes were the people in it don't move as much also is a big help!
i hope this helps :) feel free to ask more questions if you didn't understand or want some more tips i honestly don't mind!

Pairing:  Carol Danvers x F!Reader
Summary: Carol loves working out, and you love f*cking her.
Warning: (18+), explicit words, smut, voyeurism, fingering, cunninglingus, just filthy | 3k words
| C.D. Masterlist | Notify | Navigation |
Tumblr media
She’s beautiful, you thought at first. Mind flourishing in colourful words alike flowers, blooming of thoughts surrounding her; so beautiful, so perfect, so kind, so cute, so everything and more.
All while you remained seated on a chair few steps away from her. Round eyes widening at each motion, pupils dilated at that, lips pursed firmly, and hands clenched securely by your sides. Just watching her. The scenic view of her sculptured arms elevating her body forward then lowering herself with a sturdy intensity at each repetition.
At first and at last, those words so syrupy and pleasant fades into murmurs of some sort.
In the background, muffled by her slight grunt and your phone that was left forgotten on the desk with a tutorial video playing on repeat—and yet, the loudest sound was your thoughts swirling around her, fluttering of words far from the syrupy expressions that describes her.
Fucking Carol Danvers.
She’s so fucking beautiful, so fucking hot, so fucking delicious. That one profanity resonates in your mind, fuck, fuck, and you were still silently admiring her from your situated place. Perhaps, admiring wasn’t parallel with the thoughts that spew at fuck. You were shamelessly staring at her, gawking at her sweaty body, and consumed in everything that would ruin her focused state of mind.
Carol had been attentive since the start of the morning. Though, she was kind, sparing few minutes for cuddling before your body was deprived from her warmth and she was ushering you awake for breakfast. A conversation soon followed over breakfast, the talk of her recent work and your mouth cursing at her obnoxious habit of drinking from the milk carton. The seconds after where Carol pressed her body into yours, lips hovering teasingly over your gaping mouth, and her ridiculous attempt of kissing away your annoyance.
It worked. Fucking Carol Danvers with her charming smile and her addicting lips.
Her mouth claiming yours, hands grasping your waist, seemingly pressing bodies impossibly closer till your back had hit harshly against the counter edge. Slender fingers toyed with the elastic of your shorts with the occasional sly stroke of her fingers over your exposed skin. Chest heaving at the touch that drew sounds from your throat—and she stopped.
That aggravating smirk on her face surfaced just seconds before she was walking away, resuming her morning routine, and abandoning your warmed body from her touch.
You’re so annoying, you spat after recovering from the intensity of her mouth over yours. Only her touch could draw such waves of sensation over your body.
However, Carol appeared seconds after your outburst with the softest smile curling at her lips. It was that smile which made aware of your heart thumping in your chest from the first time you saw her and that same smile only shared with you. Carol ushered you over with a secretive wave which you easily followed and she pulled your body into another kiss, the kind that expressed the love in her heart for you.
There was always something special about you and her. A love that meant everything. Moments shared of playful banter while some roused slight anger, but never for either to sleep without resolving the issue, and the endless sound of laughter that made your body warm with joy.
It's just that expression of care, love, gentleness, and those same words subdued into much filthier thoughts by your current fixation.
Carol was just there, wasn’t she?
The same routine that aligned perfectly with her schedule. Her usual workout for the day which shouldn’t stir your insides with such want, the lust that quirks the corner of your lips as your teeth nimble on your bottom lip. A certain kind of warmth embracing your body, as if, you were exercising your body to exhaustion.
But it was just Carol and a metal bar that hardly served as a challenge to her body. Where her hand was firmly grasping the lengthy bar, swinging her body upwards then retaining that position for several seconds before lowering her body leisurely. She was simply executing a simply pull up exercise. It was easy for her, she’d proudly state.
While you were still there, simply admiring her fucking beautiful physique.
Her back faced you. The perfect view to observe her back muscles contracting at each pull variation. Your round eyes focus on a contour of muscle then following each curve that led to another astounding illustration of strength. It was ridiculous how her skin was gleaming with sweat, easily capturing her muscles like glazed work of art.
The determination that set at phase as she pushed her body, unbothered of the sounds she made or her sweat descending from her body to the ground, where the carpeted floor appeared damp. Alternatively, another kind of uneasy wetness embraces your body as well, only compelling your body to shift awkwardly in hope of easing that feeling.
Fucking Carol Danvers in her flimsy sports bra that barely concealed her magnificent back. Her well-defined muscles faulting beneath thin straps of cotton, relentlessly teasing you from afar. While the front paraded in the same fashion of tantalising you. Her round breast hugged the material, by passing the edges where her breast was almost spilling, and your mouth watered at the sight. The morning she walked into the kitchen with that top, you almost dropped your bowl of cereal. It didn’t conceal your imagination of what was supposedly hidden behind the sporting wear.
And fucking Carol Danvers with her toned legs, perfectly fitted into the most skin-tight leggings. Her muscular quads that seem ready to rip apart the slim material and the emphasised view of her rounded ass. It doesn’t hinder the muscles on her legs from flexing nor does your yearning to feel her beneath your touch.
It was fine. You were fine.
Phrases of such strains your throat from a sound aching to escape at the sight of your girlfriend.
Fucking Carol Danvers and her never ending necessity to dress herself in the most appealing gym clothes. The sole reason of your increasing need to feel her.
“I’m done,” Carol’s voice droned through the room, soon followed by echoes of her hand clapping in finality to her exercise. “You hungry, baby? I’m starving. Maybe we can try that new place…”
The sound of her voice, always speaking with clarity and tender, drifts away as your thoughts that flourished of her, only cultivates when she turned around. Eyes widening at the sight of her standing, gaze focusing on the sweat glimmering on her skin to the drops that led a trail to her core where her muscles appeared tense from her exercise. At each intake of breath, her abdomen muscles flexes into presenting each curve and definition of her muscles. Her abs appeared more defined now.
You heard her voice again after shamelessly sharing at her body. Words that laced of curiosity and questions of absent, then you slowly lifted your gaze to meet her intrigued eyes. It’s like Carol knew at that moment, you wanted nothing more than to touch her in every possible way, to feel the contraction of her muscles as she flexes to further instigate your   hunger for her.
And that fucking cocky grin emerges on her face.
Carol crossed her arms, her biceps bulging by the sheer concentration of her arms pressed closed to her body. “Like what you see?” she lowered her voice, teasing you as she takes a step forward.
Fucking Carol Danvers—and just being so aware of your obsession with her.
The mixture of her pride and your lust nearing annoyance at her reaction, an idea flashes in your mind that made effect of the nonchalant look on your face.
“Not really,” you claimed, feigning disinterred by the shrug of your shoulder and a soft sigh from your mouth. “It looks easy. I mean, weighted pull ups equal to more strength. Right?”
Doubt glazed her eyes while yours swirls discreetly of something more; a sinful thought, a sought of hunger, a necessity to feel her in every possible way, a fucking need to breath in her scent.
“But— that was good too,” Carol declared, her round eyes darting from your eyes to your mouth, then lingering solely on your face.
You had never hinder from cheering for her. The sly mentions of her strength for more than fighting crime as it translates easily to her in bed. Such compliments that flushed her skin and her words to sound disoriented with your hand wedge between her thighs, always praising her strength. This, however, wasn’t a reaction she had ever expected.
And it’s so fucking cute. Carol Danvers can be cute too, at times.
The pout on her lips warms your chest as with the little stomp of her feet as your revelation that further dissolves her supposed threatening guise. Her eyebrows furrowed, the lines over her forehead accentuated more at her want to attest what you had effortlessly proclaimed.
And it’s so fucking easy for her to fall clueless into your filthy thoughts.
“I could do another set,” Carol uttered at first. “Weighted pull ups this time,” she continued, slightly puzzled that your stance remained. “I’m strong, you know? I’ve done this plenty of times before,” she spoke softly, turning away as to prepare herself for another round and ensuring the difficulty was unlike her previous sets.
Carol has always been strong. Weighted or not weight pull ups doesn’t matter when she could easily travel back and forth through planets. Strength streams in her blood. It’s just that, her muscles and strength seem more prominent at times like this, that her own intelligence cease to exist. Nothing is impossible for her, that same phrase expressed through her actions.
You, on the other end, knows where and how exactly to have her crumbling at the mere touch of your hands.
“I have an idea,” you announced, lifting your temperate body from the chair, and sauntering to where she stood beneath the bar. “But you must stay in form…a little of and it’s done.”
Carol squints her eyes at your suggestion. “Okay…what are we doing?” she asked as her hand pressed gently over your arm.
You looked pointed ahead at the length bar and she followed your gaze. “Up. Come on. Quickly,” you added the last part with a little push towards her body.
She chuckles at your urgence, sharing a soft smile before listening to your command for her to move. Carol raised her arms then jumped, grasping the extensive bar in her palm. Pleased eyes meet yours, the same smile fixed on her face at the sight of you. Not a second after, her feet nudge playfully at your shoulder, rounds of laughter echoes in the room as you pushed her feet away with mumbles of how they stink.
As the sounds between you and her mellowed down, your hands spread generously on each side of her waist while your eyes stayed on hers. Carol’s eyes soften, her body melting into your touch as confusion aged into the comfort that filled her chest at the affectionate look in your eyes. Her mouth parted as a sound comes out but it wasn’t enough for her to utter her thoughts when she felt your thumb slip beneath the waistband of her leggings.
“Patient,” you murmured, hot breath fanning her exposed torso. “You’re a strong girl,” you continued, leaning closer to her tense abdomen as you pressed timid kisses over her glistening skin. The taste of her sweat lingers by your mouth, salty with the hint of her scent drifting to your nostrils, just anticipating for your mouth to ravel in her taste.
The build-up was extremely necessary. Carol staring into your eyes, those orbs swirling of questions that you paid no response towards. Another sound of command leaves your mouth that left obediently quiet and eyes wide as she observes you;
“Once you start, don’t stop till I tell you. One mistake or you do anything that I don’t want you to…I’ll stop. Understand?”
Carol nodded her head with a certain emblem of excitement. Immediately, she lifts her body upwards, and your eyes levelled rightly with her centre. You hand remained on her waist, moving effortlessly with her body, and generously tracing the skin beneath. Hums of sort leaves her mouth at your touch. The smooth transition of her body wavered for a moment when your hand pulls her leggings down as she lifted herself upwards.
The revelation of her golden curls made you sucked a breath. She wasn’t wearing anything beneath, directly revealing her damp curls caused by her sweat or more so, her arousal that fills the air, so wet and glistening beneath the overhead light as she lifted herself and perfectly exhibiting her gaping cunt.
“You were waiting for this,” you murmured, hot breath blows at her drenched cunt.
The statement offers nothing in response from your girlfriend. Your thumb pressed over her mound, her slick feels sticky and warm as you leisurely drag your thumb to her slit, and her body jerks in response. It’s always fascinating to witness her unfold before you, how her body simply melts at your touch, and she’s barely holding herself together.
A warning smile curls at your face, stern eyes meeting hers as she quietly lifted her body upwards and slowly lowering herself. Your fingers were aligned perfectly by her clit with your palm faced upwards, fingers slightly curl and enough for her heated cunt to graze the tip of your fingers.
You allow her this, helplessly bucking her hips to receive some kind of friction. The minimal touch seems wondrous by the sounds that escapes her mouth. Deep breaths at each push of her body, the shuddering of her shoulders as she moved just precisely to aid in her pleasure and the little gasps of moans.
And the fucking view of her.
Your girlfriend. Carol fucking Danvers.
It takes her so scandalous act and watching her intently as her chest rouse, lowering herself with such desire to drag her wet cunt over your hand—that your body warms with hunger and tantalizing the ache between your thighs. Your free hand slips into your shorts, toying with your clit in sluggish circles as you stared at her.
Wisps of blonde hair that clung to her forehead, the trail of sweat gleaming on her skin alike pearls scattered across her flushed skin. Carol was merely sated by the pad of your fingers or the seconds where her cunt claims a seat on your palm, rubbing her wetness to instigate an orgasm than spiralling from your torment. At such desperate time, she forgoes your order and remained over your hand without puling her body upwards again.
Then, your voice droning a sound of warning, uttered her name with such clarity that she decided, being obedient would grant her something. That your hands would simply grasp her body and fuck her senselessly.
“Fuck,” you muttered as your fingers skilfully led yourself into pleasure at the sight of her, and the sounds of her mumbling incoherent words.
This Carol, your girlfriend, always so strong and sturdy, but now, she emerges so helpless under your command. Just trying to chase after a high while you were reaching your own orgasm with her name tumbling out of your mouth.
Carol’s bleary eyes falls over your face then dropping her gaze on the bulge beneath your shorts where your hand stimulated your clit tenderly at the aftermath sensitivity of your release. The clear indication that you came by the source of her desperation.
“That’s not fair,” Carol huffed, then a helpless whine leaves her mouth when you abruptly remove your hand from her cunt.
She thinks of stopping again. You perceive the look of contemplation in her eyes and the look that sparkled in your eyes of wanting her like this. So desperately begging for more of you. Carol settled on enduring her exercise than acting against it.
It takes another push of her body for your hands to grasps her thighs, lifting them over your shoulder, your mouth parted as you laid feverish kisses on her exposed skin. You trailed wet kisses over the swells of her abdomen, nails scrapping over her skin gently and she squirmed at the feeling. Carol’s harsh intake of breath only flexes her muscles more. You feel her strong muscles contracting beneath your hands as you contentedly grope her body.
Now, staring directly at her glistering cunt, you breathed into her scent of something salty and sweet. Her gaping cunt stirs something within you as you licked a single strip over her folds and hastily pressed your mouth over her heated cunt. A hallow sound resonates through her body at the ministration of your tongue over her cunt and you felt each movement that only spreads the dampness between your thighs. The slight trembles of her legs, her clit throbbing as your tongue circles over it, and just her.
“Please,” Carol croaked out, tears blur with sweat cascading down her cheeks. Her shoulder jolts when she tried holding herself from falling at the sheer weakness you had forced upon her body, but your hands grasp her ass, pushing her upwards with a silent message to continue.
You could feel her thighs squeezing together with your head in between as you pry them apart before asserting your mouth where she needed it the most. A smile etched on your face while you ate her drenched cunt. Savouring every whimper which only encourage your tongue to tease her endlessly. You loved pushing her to her limit. To hear the scandalous sounds of her cunt squelching over your ministration.
The pain must be unbearable. Surely by the number of repetitions on a single exercise, and the later, your mouth latched on her delicious cunt. Worse or not, Carol could feel your tongue glide over her gaping hole, but never attempting to fill her, despite her trying to manipulate her body into fitting just right—just enough for your tongue to slip and for her to swear on a mistake.
You shifted from her flattering cunt, instead of admiring the look on her face, your eyes fell upon on her breast and remained there for the seconds after. Carol’s nipples protruded behind her sport bra. The thin material barely shielding the pebbles appearing around her nipples. The sight itself was pleading for your hands as you remove one hand from grasping her ass, trailing your hand to the expand of her back to the front of her breast and you grope her impatiently.
Carol released a series of moans. Her throat stings by the sounds that rushed as your fingers ruthlessly pulled at the material of her sport bra, succeeding in folding it upwards to reveal her right breast while the other spills weakly at the half-supported bra. You couldn’t bother for that, not when your hand was grasping her breast as your thumb and forefinger toyed with her nipples, inciting every sound possible from her mouth.
She was perfect. Her taste. Her sounds. You would have praised her and applaud her strength. The relentless training that prevented your hands from wandering more over her skin at the early morning, the want to watch her get undress and climb over your body as she rode you, and the loathed moments of bravery when she teased you.
So, your mouth devours her messily as a reward for acting obediently. Her juices smeared your chin, your thumb pressed into the deep of her hips that would surely leave crescent dents on her skin. Then, you felt her fingers tangled in your hair, your eyes wavering slightly as you shut them to savour her and not noticing how she had shifted to pulling herself with a single arm. Carol pushed your head further into her heated cunt as she rode herself over your tongue.
You witness a glow of some sort over your head. Carol, still pulling herself with the bar and persisting on pushing her body at each repetition, but with a single arm. And she was glowing. Her skin gleams of sweat while her eyes glow of a golden tinge, equally to her hand blazing in concentration of her exercise and you.
All caused by you.
You think, maybe, fucking Carol Danvers was the best thing in the entire universe. With that, you allowed her to reach that high she was chasing for so long, without another trick of leaving her whining for your touch.
Slowly, you eased her through her orgasm as she gently strokes your hair at the aftermath. You smiled when your tongue darts across your lips. The taste of her forever imprinted in your mouth. It felt like the most habitual thing between you and her. You pressed a final kiss to her cunt and teasingly lick her which incited a sound of complaint at her sensitivity.
It takes a soft hum from her for you to carefully gesture her into lowering her body till her bare feet hit the ground with a thud. Your hand grasps her waist immediately when she stumbles.
You take the time to admire Carol with her thighs over your shoulder, her glistering cunt just inches away from your face, and her beautiful, so fucking beautiful face.
The sight of her; strands of blonde hair sticking to her skin, right breast pouring out of her half-ridden sport bra, her legging hanging at one end of her feet, skin flushed and sweaty, her shaky breaths, her shoulder prodding with pride at her continuous pull ups—and the finality, the perfect look after fucking Carol Danvers.
“You…” Carol waved her hand absently, seemingly still at dazed. “I— you know?” she huffed, shaking her head as a smile graced her face and she pressing her mouth over yours.
The kiss, unlike the previous activity, was short and heavy of her breath mix with yours. But there’s a trace of hunger to distinguish that it wasn’t the conclusion between two thumping hearts.
You smirked as her hand discreetly pressed over your stomach. “One more?”
Carol doesn’t dither when she instantly kneels in front of you, and you weren’t one to complain when her mouth latched to your cunt. It’s perfect, you and her, and just fucking each other into oblivion.

Pairing: Wonwoo x reader Genre: fluff WC: 3.5k Warnings: mentions of alcohol
Tumblr media
The party was a little crazy and you wake up not remembering who you were making out with last night. Luckily your best friend was there and can help you solve this mystery, right?
Tumblr media
Is it bad that the only thing you can remember from last night is making out with some guy?
Yeah, you were wasted out of your mind. The obnoxious pounding of your head and the lack of memories beyond your fourth shot at the party is only further proof of that. But oddly enough, you can clearly remember the stranger's gentle touch, the heat of his mouth, and your heart pounding so hard it might explode.
Which, when you think about it, is the other weird thing. That kind of knee-weakening, heart fluttering type of feeling has only ever been evoked by one person before—
"Y/N? Are you even listening?" Wonwoo waves a hand in front of your face, thankfully interrupting your train of thought. "Are you sure you don't remember anything from last night?"
"Based on the way you keep asking me that, I'm starting to think I'm better off not remembering it," you retort, groaning at the growing headache when you attempt to recall any memories at all. "Anyway, that's exactly why I called you. You're the last person I remember from yesterday, and I need your help."
Wonwoo's instant frown tells you that he's already wary about where this conversation is heading. And sure, he has every right to be after having spent years being dragged into the antics of his closest friend.
In your defense though, the party last night wasn't exactly your idea.
The party was Joshua's holiday party that he was co-hosting with his friend, Jeonghan, at a local bar where one of their friends works. You definitely weren't expecting an invite from Joshua, but there he'd been, handing it to you at the end of your tutorial one day. By this point, you'd already heard the rumours about how their parties tend to be... just a little bit sketchy. They had a bad rep, so to say, but no one ever talked about the reason behind that. Of course that only made you all the more curious.
So really, you were just an innocent guest attending a party that your friend personally invited you to.
And it was a good time, at least to you. But judging by Wonwoo's unamused expression, you're now wondering if you perhaps contributed to this bad rep, whatever it was you ended up doing.
"Yeah so. Did you see who I, um..." You have to pause to figure out how to ask your question without asking it directly. "Like, how I ended up getting home? After leaving the party?"
No response. You can feel him staring at you, likely to be judging you internally, but when you meet his eyes, he looks away.
"Right, okay." You give him a wry smile. "That's fine. I was thinking that retracing my steps from last night might help me recover my memories."
Wonwoo blinks.
"Please? I'll buy you that skin you've been eyeing lately?" The least you can do is try to appeal to his gamer side.
He considers for a moment, acting as if the two of you don't already know what the outcome would be. "Make it two skins."
"Deal. Now let's go do this thing."
Tumblr media
An hour later, you're getting a strong sense of deja vu as the two of you head to the dinner spot you were just at yesterday. Nothing has changed within the span of a day—the lights are still up, not yet lit in the fading afternoon sunlight, and the trees are still decorated with the tiny trinkets and colourful tinsel. If anything, it's just slightly quieter on the streets without the same bustle of people out like last night.
The stillness on the streets coupled with Wonwoo's strange silence gives you the opportunity to finally slow down and think about why exactly you want to remember the events from last night. Why are you so adamant on finding this mystery person you were making out with? Truth to be told, you don't really know the answer to that; it was just a kiss after all, albeit a good one, but did it need to mean something? You save the thought to examine later.
"Here we are," Wonwoo breaks the silence. He opens the door to the restaurant and steps aside, waiting for you to enter first. "Anything ring a bell yet?"
You snort. "Please, it's not like I can't remember anything from this early on."
He follows right behind you, and soon, the two of you are seated. You're on the opposite side of the restaurant today, though yesterday's table with the couple currently occupying it is within your field of view.
"Oh yeah?" Wonwoo raises a brow at you. "Then what were we talking about?" He slides a menu your way and then opens his own, though he chooses to stare at you instead of reading it, awaiting a response.
You shoot him a dull look back. "We went over your hatred for the holidays. Sorry—not hatred, but distaste. The crowds are terrible, the lights are way too much, and you obviously don't like the red and green colour combo. Don't even get me started on the music."
When the waitress comes by to take your orders, you snap your mouth shut, hoping she didn't overhear this odd conversation. Wonwoo picks something off the menu as if he'd been reading it, while you end up ordering the same thing as yesterday.
"Wow, is that really how you think of me?"
"Who knows," you shrug, feeling the smug smile on your lips. "But you see, I have a theory that it's not really about any of that at all."
"Really? Go on."
You lean a little closer and gesture for him to do the same, intentionally pausing to up the suspense. "I don't think it's about the holiday or festivities at all. What you actually dislike is the—how do I say this..." you wrack your brain for the right term. "It's the couple-ness of it that you don't like. The whole cuffing season thing, the way couples are all around you, from the moment you step out of the house to when you turn on your screen and those hallmark movies are playing. You hate how love is in the air."
He doesn't respond immediately, and so you take a sip of your water to make your whole demeanour a little more nonchalant. The subject is one you don't bring up much—you may have known him for a long time and are his closest friend, but you still don't know why he's never shown any interest in love. There has never been a crush, a dating app, or someone he vaguely found attractive, and he's never cared much about your love life either and would much rather avoid the topic entirely.
Well, not that you've had much of a love life in a long time.
The crease between Wonwoo's brows deepens as he thinks, and by the time he opens his mouth, his entire face is a look of disdain. "I'll go with answer A: shitty crowds, lights, and colours."
"Bingo. I got it, didn't I?" You push it just a bit more so that maybe then he'll tell you what's really on his mind. But before he can respond, the waitress comes back with the food, and you know you've lost your opportunity.
Wonwoo stays silent for a while as the two of you eat, but you can feel his analytical eyes on you every now and then. He almost looks like he wants to say something, like he's wavering and might actually answer your question instead of avoiding it like you expect him to.
He doesn't, though. In the end, he decides to change the subject. "What about you? Why do you want to find the person you were with last night?"
"Because—"
You stop to think.
Perhaps it's what you remember about it that stirs this feeling in your gut. You remember the way it felt, the softness of his lips and the warmth of his fingers as they gently held you. The absolute tenderness that existed despite the heat of the moment and despite the alcohol in your veins making everything glow as the world spun around you.
And then there were the butterflies, the ones that only come out in the presence of that one special person. You're sure not just anyone could've made you feel like that no matter how inebriated you were, so this stranger had to be someone special. There was definitely something there.
Or so you think. Of course it might've been something you misremembered because of your delusional state last night, but at least it was something you could cling onto, right? You've been telling yourself to get out of this cycle of unrequited love and hopefully move on with your life next year. This would be the perfect excuse, and a much better one than the blind dates that your aunt keeps trying to set up for you.
"My family is still on my back about that blind date," you say, rolling your eyes for extra effect. You might as well lay the foundation now so that you have a back up excuse. "Maybe if I find this person and things work out, then they'll finally stop pestering me about that."
"How are you going to find this person? Surely you're not going to go around kissing strangers until you recover your memories? Do you remember anything about them?" Wonwoo's questions come one after the other, and it's the first time he's so interested in your love life. Usually by this point he'd be looking slightly uncomfortable and then changing the subject, and seeing this odd behaviour makes you wonder if it has anything to do with what happened yesterday.
"I... haven't thought that far," you admit. "I guess finding them isn't that important; I just want to know who they are."
"Does it matter who they are?"
The question surprises you again, so you peer at him, trying to analyze him the way he often does to you. Wonwoo's face doesn't give anything away though; he stares back without moving away once you meet his gaze, almost as if daring you to answer the question. Just like you did earlier when asking about his aversion to the holiday stuff.
"Hey, how are we doing over here?" The waitress stops by just in time.
You send a silent thanks to the greater powers.
Tumblr media
After finishing up the meal mostly in silence, you're now heading toward the bar where the party was held last night. It's not too long of a walk from the restaurant, which was good for yesterday when you were trying not to freeze in your party outfit—or, well, maybe it wasn't so good since Wonwoo did pull you in and open up his coat to try to shield you from the wind with it.
What this short walk is also not good for, is today when he seems to use every opportunity to convince you to turn around.
"Are you sure you want to know, Y/N?" Wonwoo slows down his steps beside you until he's practically dragging his feet. "It's not too late to go home. We could watch that movie on your list or put up the new ornaments you bought."
His offer is so strange, not quite unlike your offer to buy him skins for his game, that you nearly accept on the spot. But as tempting as it sounds, today needs to be spent finding the potential love of your life.
You pretend to consider for a moment. "Tempting, but no," you shake your head. "I need to solve this mystery."
He doesn't say anything to that, but you don't give him a chance to before you're speeding up and heading to the next spot.
The sun has now set, and the many coloured lights of the streets are just beginning to light up as the two of you head towards the bar where the party was last night. More people are out and about; couples holding hands as they walk side by side, singles hurrying home, groups of friends heading to the Christmas market nearby. Everyone you look at could potentially be the person you were with last night.
But who could it have been? Surely it couldn't have been the worst-case scenario, your ex—you don't even think he was at the party since you've never talked about him before, but knowing Jeonghan and Joshua, they totally could've found a way to bring him there. Maybe it was the hottie, Mingyu, whose name is the only thing you can remember just because of his thousand-watt smile. Or maybe it was—
No. Your heart gives an involuntary jerk at the thought, and you have to shake your head to get rid of the idea. No, it's not possible at all.
"Y/N?" Wonwoo stops a few steps ahead of you, glancing back with concern at your abrupt stop. "You good?"
"Yeah, of course." You shoot him a quick smile but avoid his gaze. Now you definitely need to get rid of that thought.
The two of you make your way to the bar, but the search is futile the whole way. People are everywhere all around you, walking along the streets and gathered by the bar, and yet, somehow no one you look at seems to fit the picture. You see the same bartender from last night and he greets you with a wave, but his hair is much longer than what you remember about the mystery person, and his lips much thicker.
But you soon realize that the lack of resemblance isn't even the issue. At the back of the bar when you do seem to spot an attractive stranger with similar features to what you remember, your heart still sinks at the thought of having kissed them. And it's the same with every person you look at, which only means one thing: the problem is that you can't possibly imagine ever being in love with them. You can't imagine being in love with anyone other than your best friend.
It feels like hours later when the two of you finally decide to call it a day.
There's an empty bench just down the street from the bar, close enough to the Christmas market that you get a nice view of the lights when you collapse onto it. The bustle of earlier has calmed down at this late hour, though it does little to calm the nervous pulsing of your heart. You can't quite pinpoint what it is that's making your stomach twist, and it certainly doesn't help that Wonwoo is so close you can see the fresh snowflakes landing on his eyelashes and in his hair.
It'd be nice if this moment could last forever—only the two of you existing as the rest of the world is muffled by the snow.
But nothing lasts forever, and you know that you have to end this and move on with your life.
"It was someone from the party, wasn't it?" you ask tentatively. Wonwoo seems to be analyzing you when he looks over, but otherwise doesn't respond. "And you know who it is."
That earns you a nod.
"I thought so." You heave a sigh, turning away from him to stare at the lights in the distance. No wonder he seems to have been dropping hints all day—the cryptic questions, the subtle slip ups. He can be a really careful guy when he wants to be, but this time it's as if he wants you to know that he knows. And yet, the two of you still spent all day aimlessly retracing your steps. "Then why wouldn't you just tell me who it is?"
"Because," Wonwoo mumbles, "what if it's someone you don't want it to be?"
"Then it would just have been a fun time and nothing more, I guess. Why does that m—"
"What if it's someone that you can't see that way? Someone you'll never be able to have feelings for?"
The question catches you off guard. Here you are, half expecting a name drop at this point after having spent so long searching in vain—you expect him to simply tell you that this mystery person really was your ex or maybe the bartender, or maybe even Joshua himself for whatever reason. Gross. So yes, there might be a list of people you don't want it to be, but what you don't understand is why Wonwoo is making such a big deal out of it.
When you look over at him, there's a sort of apprehension written on his face that he doesn't bother hiding. And while it confuses you why he's taking this so seriously, you can also feel the growing tension in the air between you, making each ticking second veer towards a slope that you'll be unable to turn back from. You never thought this would matter so much, but it's as if everything depends on this one, singular moment. The instant when he reveals the truth.
Why would he care so much about it though? Why would it matter to him who his best friend was drunkenly making out with? Why would he be so oddly hesitant yet curious about what you thought of this person—
"What if you're disappointed by who it is?"
The memories rush back so quickly that you nearly kneel over.
Stumbling out of the bar, finding this exact bench. The world spinning in a kaleidoscopic blur of lights, the warmth of his hands guiding you. You'd sat here and teased him about his distaste for the holidays—you asked if he hated it when you brought him to the Christmas market with you every year, and if he'd much rather not help you put up the tree. You asked why he even went to the holiday party with you this year despite hating both the holidays and parties.
Then when you looked up...
"The mistletoe." You let out a gasp when you see it right above you, still in the same position it'd been in last night. The very mistletoe that you'd pointed out to Wonwoo and asked him if he hated it too.
If he hated being underneath it with you.
"You remember it now?" he asks quietly. He appears calm, stoic as usual, but it's all too easy to see that there's anxiety swimming just beneath it all.
"Yeah, it's coming back to me now. So that's why you didn't straight up tell me even though you knew all along." You nod to yourself as you put together the pieces.
"We were drunk and caught up in the moment so I didn't think you meant what you said or would even want to remember it. I was going to let you forget it, Y/N, in case you thought it was a mistake."
It all makes sense now. All of that would explain his nervous energy today, the odd questions, the sudden interest. Except there's just one more thing... "But then why did you agree to come with me and retrace our steps? You—you wanted me to remember."
He sighs and gives in with a nod. "Yeah, it was a chance to redo the day. Last night was wild and things kind of went out of control, but this way, we can do it differently. I kept hoping that maybe there's the slightest chance you really meant it, what you said about..."
About being in love with your best friend, you think, internally cringing when you can hear the words in your own voice from last night. You'd nearly screamed it out loud, and the situation was probably more than embarrassing and not pretty at all—blame it on Joshua for having this party in the first place. This was nothing like how you might've pictured confessing to a crush at all.
But as crazy and mortifying as it was, it feels almost like an inside joke, a moment that only the two of you would ever know. And when you finally manage to process what Wonwoo just said, your heart speeds up for an entirely different reason.
Hope. This is what you'd been hoping for, too.
"I meant all of it," you quickly say, diving right in before you can chicken out. "Did you? When you said that you don't hate all this holiday stuff, but actually enjoy it because it's with me? That you... feel the same way?"
"Yeah, Y/N. You have no idea how long I've been holding onto that." The tension in his body has eased and there's finally a smile on his lips, perhaps for the first time today. "And about the mistletoe right above us? I don't hate it, Y/N," Wonwoo repeats his words from last night. "Not at all."
"Ah, I see," you tease despite the hammering of your heart at what's to come. "Is that what you want to redo this day for?"
Wonwoo's smile widens. "I'd gladly redo any day if it's with you."
When the distance closes and you feel the tenderness in his touch and taste the soda on his tongue, you know that this redo of a night would be committed to memory forever.

do you think you could ever make a step-by-step tutorial on how you draw hair? the way you render it is so shiny and soft✨
hii!! yep, sure! tho my rendering process is a hot mess i hope it will be understandable enough
1. so first of all I start with base colors
2. then add shadows on the new layer with Multiply, a bit darker at the edges of the lighted side. I also color lineart here
3. on another layer i add lighting either with Normal or Add
4. lastly layer with Overlay to add some more warm and cold tones to make it look less dull
5. at this point my layers usually look like this
6. then i make new layer on top of everything and start rendering, mixing colours, making transitions softer, turn most of the lines into shadows , and separating hair on locks
7. here i usually fix tones either with Curves or with new layer on Color mode or Tone. then add some strands that come out of hairstyle to make it look more lively on the previous layer or new one to be more flexible with placing. yet another layer with Screen mode to make distant strands of hair fade away into background, kind of imitating aerial perspective. and then I slap all the layers together and make final additions, somewhere combine shadows, somewhere remove too small and unnecessary details, adding an outline on some parts.
8. and finally I add colors again with Overlay, in general lighting it’s yellow-reddish tones in the light and begging of the shadows, a bit of cool bluish colors in the shadows. I also like to add colors from nearby objects to each other. In this case, the color of the clothes on the ends of the hair, for example. and lastly i use Add to make highlights even shinier 🤩
and that’s basically it, may seem a bit excessive but I use all of these layers for the whole pic at once only in my fully rendered pieces and as i said, hot mess, so yep, hope it helps, ask me anything if I didn’t make it clear 🌸

abi! I love this buddie x reputation set you made a few months ago! (/post/716233266609438720/) I was wondering how you did the two-column text that runs along the right side of each gif? thank you!!!
ahh thank you renee!! here's a quick tutorial for how to get this newspaper effect from my reputation gifset! luckily i saved the resources i used for this, but it's also easy enough to find on google if you want a different look!
Tumblr media
Explanation under the cut!
Prepare your base gif + your overlay
So here i've got my base gif prepared with the colouring, and I'll be using a newspaper image as my overlay.
Tumblr media
This is the overlay I used, but I'm pretty sure I just googled "New York Times" and cropped the heading out. I found that actually googling a newspaper gave me better results than just searching "newspaper overlay" because I wanted the text to be small enough to be illegible while also having an 'old' newspaper look.
Tumblr media
2. Applying the overlay
So I open up the overlay in photoshop, and then copy and paste it onto my gif and position it where I want it to go.
Tumblr media
I then hit command + i (ctrl + i) to invert the colours of the overlay so that it becomes white text on a black background.
Tumblr media
Now I just set the layer's blending mode to screen and set it to 70% opacity (depending on your preference).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Fade-in mask (optional)
I didn't like the hard edge of the text and wanted it to match the reputation cover which has a slight fade in for the overlay. So all I did was create a layer mask using the icon at the bottom of the layers panel.
Tumblr media
I then used the gradient tool with the black to transparent gradient set.

And then with your layer mask selected, draw a straight line (click on the shift key while you're drawing) from slightly outside your newspaper to slightly inside your newspaper. So in the screenshot below I clicked where the left side of that red line is, and dragged my gradient tool to the right side of the red line.

Pairing: Juyeon x reader Genre: holiday fluff fluff fluff Word count: 3.5k Warnings: mentions of alcohol
Tumblr media
The holiday party was a little crazy and you wake up not remembering who you were making out with last night.
That kind of knee-weakening, heart fluttering type of feeling has only ever been evoked by one person before—
"Y/N? Are you even listening?" Juyeon waves a hand in front of your face, thankfully interrupting your train of thought.
Juyeon's instant frown tells you that he's already wary about where this conversation is heading. And sure, he has every right to be after having spent years being dragged into the antics of his closest friend.
In your defense though, the party last night wasn't exactly your idea.
The party was Changmin's holiday party that he was co-hosting with his friend, Chanhee, at a local bar where one of their friends works. You definitely weren't expecting an invite from Changmin, but there he'd been, handing it to you at the end of your tutorial one day. By this point, you'd already heard the rumours about how Chanhee and Changmin's parties tend to be... just a little bit sketchy. They had a bad rep, so to say, but no one ever talked about the reason behind that. Of course that only made you all the more curious.
So really, you were just an innocent guest attending a party that your friend personally invited you to.
And it was a good time, at least to you. But judging by Juyeon's unamused expression, you're now wondering if you perhaps contributed to this bad rep, whatever it was you ended up doing.
Juyeon blinks.
The stillness on the streets coupled with Juyeon's strange silence gives you the opportunity to finally slow down and think about why exactly you want to remember the events from last night. Why are you so adamant on finding this mystery person you were making out with? Truth to be told, you don't really know the answer to that; it was just a kiss after all, albeit a good one, but did it need to mean something? You save the thought to examine later.
"Here we are," Juyeon breaks the silence.
"Oh yeah?" Juyeon raises a brow at you.
Juyeon picks something off the menu as if he'd been reading it, while you end up ordering the same thing as yesterday.
The crease between Juyeon's brows deepens as he thinks, and by the time he opens his mouth, his entire face is a look of disdain.
Juyeon stays silent for a while as the two of you eat, but you can feel his analytical eyes on you every now and then.
Do you remember anything about them?" Juyeon's questions come one after the other, and it's the first time he's so interested in your love life.
Juyeon's face doesn't give anything away though; he stares back without moving away once you meet his gaze, almost as if daring you to answer the question.
It's not too long of a walk from the restaurant, which was good for yesterday when you were trying not to freeze in your party outfit—or, well, maybe it wasn't so good since Juyeon did pull you in and open up his coat to try to shield you from the wind with it.
What this short walk is also not good for, is today when he seems to use every opportunity to convince you to turn around.
"Are you sure you want to know, Y/N?" Juyeon slows down his steps beside you until he's practically dragging his feet.
Surely it couldn't have been the worst-case scenario, your ex—you don't even think he was at the party since you've never talked about him before, but knowing Chanhee and Changmin, they totally could've found a way to bring him there. Maybe it was the hottie, Younghoon, whose name is the only thing you can remember just because of his thousand-watt smile. Or maybe it was—
No. Your heart gives an involuntary jerk at the thought, and you have to shake your head to get rid of the idea. No, it's not possible at all.
"Y/N?" Juyeon stops a few steps ahead of you, glancing back with concern at your abrupt stop.
You can't quite pinpoint what it is that's making your stomach twist, and it certainly doesn't help that Juyeon is so close you can see the fresh snowflakes landing on his eyelashes and in his hair.
It'd be nice if this moment could last forever—only the two of you existing as the rest of the world is muffled by the snow.
But nothing lasts forever, and you know that you have to end this and move on with your life.
"It was someone from the party, wasn't it?" you ask tentatively. Juyeon seems to be analyzing you when he looks over, but otherwise doesn't respond.
"Because," Juyeon mumbles, "what if it's someone you don't want it to be?"
"Then it would just have been a fun time and nothing more, I guess. Why does that m—"
"What if it's someone that you can't see that way? Someone you'll never be able to have feelings for?"
The question catches you off guard. Here you are, half expecting a name drop at this point after having spent so long searching in vain—you expect him to simply tell you that this mystery person really was your ex or maybe the bartender, or maybe even Changmin himself for whatever reason. Gross. So yes, there might be a list of people you don't want it to be, but what you don't understand is why Juyeon is making such a big deal out of it.
The very mistletoe that you'd pointed out to Juyeon and asked him if he hated it too.
Last night was wild and things kind of went out of control, but this way, we could do it differently. I kept hoping that maybe there's the slightest chance you really meant it, what you said about..."
About being in love with your best friend, you think, internally cringing when you can hear the words in your own voice from last night. You'd nearly screamed it out loud, and the situation was probably more than embarrassing and not pretty at all—blame it on Changmin for having this party in the first place. This was nothing like how you might've pictured confessing to a crush at all.
But as crazy and mortifying as it was, it feels almost like an inside joke, a moment that only the two of you would ever know. And when you finally manage to process what Juyeon just said, your heart speeds up for an entirely different reason.
I don't hate it, Y/N," Juyeon repeats his words from last night. "Not at all."
"Ah, I see," you tease despite the hammering of your heart at what's to come. "Is that what you want to redo this day for?"
Juyeon's smile widens. "I'd gladly redo any day if it's with you."
When the distance closes and you feel the tenderness in his touch and taste the soda on his tongue, you know that this redo of a night would be committed to memory forever.

The coloring process also
Your art doesn't seem to one or the other both are essential to making the abusolute eye candy that you make
HAHAH thanks so welcome back then
im gonna use the scuffed giovanni for this . you should have a gray background by the way (in the progress at least, white backgrounds in the end are fine)
Tumblr media
pick a white (which is not white) (i might change it later)
Tumblr media
base colours (i like to go pastel / less saturated so the shading can be the heavy + showy but you can do whatever)
Tumblr media
you have all the base colours in 1 layer then you do this (described in the other post) basically you put a gray layer above it so you can picture better where the shading would be
Tumblr media
i was going to show the next step but remembered some tips to help stuff blend better
Tumblr media
(first one adds the tone of the skin to the bangs) (second one adds fading on the forehead) LOL now back to giovanni
above the grey layer you create a new one in the same mode where it doesnt go out of the lines and you shade with red (or any colour, its your choice)
Tumblr media
you delete the gray layer anddd you copypaste the shading layer 3 times (in the colours i recommend :>)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
gotta look like this , i like to put the brown, red and blue in multiply (the layer mode) and play with the opacity until i find something i like (purple not that much)
Tumblr media
(%25 brown multiply, %13 blue multiply, %5 red multiply if you like the recipe)
tada (im going further in shading but this actually is a good solid result to end in) okay okay , now new layer on top
Tumblr media
you go and fill the shading enough so it has an outline (i understand myself) and experiment with the layer modes again , im gonna try light blue/purple and green, not pink because giovanni is already pink , he has warm colours so gotta go to the opposite side of the wheel
Tumblr media
%13 of green on luminosity if u care, i could try flashy colours but no need to over-do it, its just him chilling
Tumblr media
this isnt part of the tutorial i just like to add shade to his face like if he was up to something, also i made him look evil idk i dont like how he looks (bc i wasnt planning on colouring this)
now lets put colour in the lineart
Tumblr media
better
Tumblr media
i went to add fading to his arm because i dont want it to be the focus and i ended up adding light also to his cape LOL pretend i know what im doing (soft light layer)
im stopping here but thats it

TS2 CC clothing texture quality: Bodyshop vs SimPe
Bodyshop doesn’t do great job at converting textures. That’s most visible in case of plain dark colours. It doesn’t handle transparency very well either.
This tutorial by @poppet-sims explains how to manually replace textures inside recolour files using SimPe & DDS builder. It’s about Buymode recolours but parts of it also apply to CAS stuff.
This method is much more convenient than juggling BMP files in Projects folder.
Tumblr media
DXT5 outperforms DXT3 when it comes to alpha transparency. In case of plain-coloured textures, DXT3 and DXT5 will give you the same results* (that’s why I didn’t add the third pic for the grey dress - I did both but couldn’t tell them apart 😉 )
* or almost the same, if you have some very thin details, especially light on dark, these can become a bit crunchy as DTX3
These two formats are identical when it comest to file size though, sometimes DXT5 can even be a tiny bit smaller.
After adding textures in SimPe you need to run the packages through Compressorizer.
* It’s also possible to install DDS plugin for your 2D software, that will allow you to save files as DXT.
* You can get TS2 package compressorizer from here (J Fade’s site) or here .

A list of TMA headcanons that came out of a recent brainrot session with my cousin
Jon used to wear glasses but no longer needs to after waking up from his coma
they're small, square, gold glasses. he doesn’t start out with a glasses chain, but gets one eventually because grandma core
Jon damaged his glasses at some point so he taped m up. Then the skin on his nose got irritated because he kept pushing them up
the event that damaged Jon’s glasses may have been: the worm attack (MAG 39), breaking into getrude's appartment or the not!Sasha attack (MAG 79)
in s1 Jon cleans his glasses very often. He always has the little cloth with him, at all times. He cannot stand dirt on the lenses, but maybe more so than that, he thinks it makes him appear put together, important, smart etc. he will often clean them while in conversation with his colleagues, as an attempt to show dominance.
Jon stops cleaning his glasses regularly in s2
Jon does not handle it well if you put them down on his desk wrong
Jon gets a haircut the day before he starts as head archivist and then never again.
somewhere in s3 Jon starts brushing his hair less and less. it gets matted
somewhere in s3 Georgie tried to teach Jon how to sew. he stabbed himself a thousand times and gave up
during Jon’s coma, Martin would often come by and detangle his hair for him. he is so gentle about it. it takes multiple sessions, but when he’s done, he braids it. it’s a fancy braid, too
Jon does not redo the braid, he keeps it as it is. it gets floofier over time, with more loose strands
s2 Jon, Martin and Sasha all regularly put their glasses on top of their head and then forget them, but Sasha especially
Tim’s vision is pretty bad but he refuses to get glasses
Sasha’s glasses are big, gold wire and either octagonal or heptagonal, but with rounded corners. they have the type of lenses that turn blue in sunlight, funky stuff. She has a glasses chain
Sasha knows how to sew, knit, crochet etc. she makes a lot of her own clothing.
Sasha keeps fabric scraps and makes patchwork clothing out of them.
Sasha has a jar of buttons on a shelf. or maybe it's an ordered box with compartments. if it's a box, she made it herself.
Sasha has a shelf full of crafting supplies.
Sasha has a garden where she grows vegetables and herbs
Sasha makes her own strawberry jam.
Sasha loves cooking
Gertrude has those tiny little glasses that pinch onto her nose. they’re oval and silver.
Getrude knows how to knit, but only does it when she wants to look like a harmless old lady.
Elias also does not need glasses, but he wears them to be smug.
Elias’ glasses are small, half moon shaped and gold, He has a glasses chain with little eyes at the ends. they may or may not be prescription. it does not matter to him
Martins glasses are big, round dark blue wire.
Martin has some plushies
Martin mends his own clothes because he doesn’t wanna waste them
Martin is pretty good at knitting and crochet
Melanie dyes her hair blue
in s4 Melanie’s hair dye is faded and starts to grow out.
Melanie wears contacts. They are prescription, but also might be coloured, maybe to work better with her hair.
Melanie stops wearing her contacts in s4, because they are too much work to keep up with and she is not going to leave the archives to replace them, that’s too dangerous. Her prescription is pretty low, so it’s manageable.
as Melanie gets more and more affected by the ghost bullet, her irises slowly start to turn red.
Malanie has sewed some patches to her clothing. she’s also dyed some of it.
Melanie likes to tie her shoelaces in fun ways. She looked up some tutorials online.
Georgie loves sewing while listening to podcasts. the podcasts are mainly about true crime, media and art, and some political stuff.
Basira wears reading glasses. they’re rectangular, black, plastic glasses. they’re pretty cheap, she doesn’t wanna waste money she on glasses she only wears sometimes

Tutorial Dog
Hello Everyone.
So I've gotten a few questions about how I make the little animals so I thought I'd do a little process post.
Well the first step really is deciding an animal and a palette. For the animal I try to switch it up and not choose the same species back to back, and then I look for a reference. Usually I want a clear full body image to refer to. Next I pick the palette, which for the most part is random. Other than avoiding the same general colours as the previous animal, I use https://lospec.com/palette-list which has a nice selection of user submitted palettes that you can limit by number of colours. My only rule when selecting a palette was that it could not contain pure black, only off black if it was present.
For the animal I've selected an Italian greyhound, which we'll refer to as Tutorial Dog.
Tumblr media
For the palette I've chosen: Yana's Modernized Pokemon SGB.
Tumblr media
I've numbered the palette to explain better. Next part of the process is making decisions about colours. For me, limited palettes make this step easier since I have fewer decisions to make. Generally 4 colour palettes contain a black, white, and two mid tones. The black and white colours are already decided as colour 1 and colour 4 in the palette, so the big decision is deciding which of the two mid tones is the dominant colour, this colour will cover the most area and be added last. Usually I'll decide this based on if the animal is predominately white toned or black toned. For Tutorial Dog I've decided black toned so the colours will be added in 1,4,3,2 order.
First things first, I do an outline of the general shape of the animal and I'll also use another colour to put the general position of the eyes. The eyes are the most important feature and you'll see me adjust them a few times throughout.
Tumblr media
Next we add the shadow. These are the darkest areas and they provide the most detail. It's very easy to muddle the image here so I try to avoid laying down large dark areas. Note that I also place all pixels individually, and use a semi-random placement as patterns or dithering can make areas look too flat. This is also why the little animals are little, the canvas size is 128X128 pixels. This means on average a little animal takes around 4-6 hours to draw, depending on the detail; so drawing 1 a day is very achievable even on work days.
Tumblr media
The light is added next using the same semi-random placement, it's best to add the light tone sparingly, using it only to highlight bright areas, as our non-dominant colour with fill out those areas later.
Tumblr media
Now the non-dominant colour, this is the point where I usually have a small panic, as the image will always look awkward at this point. This is also the time where if I've made the wrong decision on which colour should be dominant I'll be able to tell. Lucky for me, that only occurred one time while I was drawing the little animals. You can also see here that I've made adjustments to the eyes but they still look a bit wrong.
Tumblr media
Now for my favourite part, adding the dominant colour. This is the point where the whole image comes together. I'll usually use the fill tool here. You can also see I've made some adjustments to the nose with the shadow colour, as the detail was unclear.
Tumblr media
Now we make final touches, this is the point where really I spend a bunch of time zooming in and out to see if the image looks right; fixing the eyes to make them more clear, reducing some of the shadow colour on the back legs to make it less harsh, and adding more shadow to the ears to give more detail.
Tumblr media
I'll give the animal a 1 pixel wide outline in pure black to help them pop out from the background. The backgrounds use the same palette, but the colours are tinted with a small amount of white so they won't interfere with the animal itself. Then the colours are faded together with dithering. Finally I add my signature and we are done.
Tumblr media
Here's a little bonus animation of the process.
Tumblr media
If anyone has questions or would like to suggest an animal for future drawings, please send me an ask.
Also any future tutorial or process posts will be found under the tutorial dog tag.
Thank you.
-Vin
