Thoughts on a Hatchetfield/Fantasy High crossover
So, I know the odds are good that I'm sending this into a very niche void, but I also know that these fandoms overlap, so... yeah. Basically, this is a world where the Bad Kids (and I guess pretty much every character in the world of Spyre, but the Bad Kids are who we're focusing on) are seemingly normal humans living in Hatchetfield, with all the weirdness and danger it entails.
Let's get into it.
Fabian: He's a rich kid living in Pinebrook, the star quarterback of the Nighthawks, and is one of the most popular kids in school due to being rich, good at sports, and surprisingly nice---and he's dating Ragh, though that's something that's a bit on the down-low due to them worrying they'll get kicked off the team and Ragh not being quite ready to come out. Honestly, Fabian really shouldn't be tied up into the spookiness, if you take him at face value... except for the fact that both of his parents are very much tied into it. Haleriel's family has been in Hatchetfield since the beginning, and while they're not tied with the Church of the Starry Children or the Hatchetmen, they do have some serious occult connections. And Bill... well, as far as everyone knows, he's an Irish fencer who got into the big leagues, retired, and took up pirate LARPing in his spare time. All of that is true, except for the fact that he is, in fact, an actual seventeenth-century pirate who got on Tinky's bad side and wound up in 2000s Hatchetfield. Fabian doesn't know about this yet, but he will.
Gorgug: The result of a secret relationship between two Abstinence Camp junior counselors, Gorgug was originally raised in secret in Witchwood Forest until he was three, when he was found and promptly put up for adoption. By then, he was already unusually large, strong, and angry for his age, but he still found a loving home with the proprietors of Thistlespring Mechanics. Gorgug thankfully never got to the monstrous level of Lil' Gerry, and he can pass for a normal kid if you ignore his height... however, he has been homeschooled for a good portion of his life due to constantly having manic outbursts that took years to learn how to keep under control. When he finally goes to Hatchetfield High, Fabian and Ragh take him under their wing---if only because they took one look at him and realized that he'd be perfect for the Nighthawks---and Gorgug definitely begins to shine due to having friends. Still, though... you can never really get rid of how Witchwood Forest changes you.
Riz: Now, he is very much aware of all the crazy, scary, and inexplicable things that go around in Hatchetfield, to the point of becoming a paranormal investigator---YouTube channel and all. His mom isn't really sure what to make of this, but she's a cop, she's busy, and it mostly keeps Riz out of trouble. As far as he knows, his dad worked for the military, and he assumes that he died in combat (in reality, though, Pok was a PIEP agent who got killed by Blinky). Riz has a part of his paranormal investigator business that's open to him taking on cases for others, but people don't tend to take him up on the offer, and he's usually investigating strange happenings by himself. That is, until...
Fig: Unlike in canon, Fig has always known that Gilear was her stepdad, not her real dad, but she still considers him her dad---mostly because that for a good deal of her life, she grew up thinking that her real dad was a deadbeat who left her. After Gilear and Sandra Lynn get divorced, however, Fig decides to finally start looking into her biological dad... and she discovers that he didn't skip town as she initially believed, but he went missing shortly before she was born. The case went cold, and all that's known is that he was attempting to stop the Honey Festival---specifically, the pageant---before he disappeared. Fig, who's recently developed an interest in the occult, realizes that there's something sinister going on there, and she hires Riz to help her find out the truth. (Vague spoilers: Gorthalax---or, well, Gordon T. Ax---is alive, but he's been trapped by Nibbly as punishment for successfully interfering and saving the Honey Queen)
Kristen: She's essentially the Grace Chastity of this universe, just without the crazy---church girl, teacher's pet, yet actually a nice person who doesn't really realize just how messed up her parents' beliefs are. Though she doesn't know the details about the Black & White, her parents are part of a group that are descended from the original Hatchetmen, and they've taught her that anybody who has The Gift is inherently evil. Of course, Kristen has always had the power to magically heal others, and she's kept this hidden from her parents her whole life---which becomes harder as her powers start getting stronger. And then she starts having a sexuality crisis and a crisis of faith, triggered when she befriends the niece of Hatchetfield High's new guidance counselor. So, yeah, Kristen's not having a good time.
Adaine: Her family recently moved to Hatchetfield from London, supposedly because her dad's job changed. In reality, her parents are devout followers of Wiggly and the other LiB, and they know that Hatchetfield is the focal point of their power (and no, Alewyn doesn't know about this, but she does know more about the spooky stuff than she's letting on). For her part, Adaine has psychic powers similar to Hannah, right down to having Webby as an imaginary friend, but she keeps this secret from her parents... mostly due to the time when she was little and told them about Webby, and the reaction was pretty negative. On top of her powers, she's also struggling with her anxiety disorder, her gifted kid complex, and the general stress of going to a new school in a new country... so, it helps when she gets adopted by Kristen and Fig at the same time, and Webby immediately takes a liking to them both. Through Fig, she meets Riz, and then she meets Fabian at one of her parents' awful functions, and he introduces her and everyone else to Gorgug... and the Bad Kids can begin.
I've got a lot more ideas about this---mostly involving Ayda, Arthur Aguefort, the O'Shaughnesseys, and some fleeting concepts about The Seven---but that's for another post, so... yeah.

Helsingin Sanomat did an interview with Windows95Man. Here are some of the main points, translated and summarized for you who don't have access to it since it's paywalled.
Note, There is a section talking about his stance on Israel's paryicipation in esc as well as his own.
He is currently waiting for a chance to get to therapy, after everything that has happened recently
He has not really had the chance to eat or sleep properly since the victory
The win was very much a surprise to him. he didn't think they had a chance until he had the trophy in hand
He is a big fan of Sara's song (it has been stuck in his head)
The topic of Israel was brought up and I'll translate that part fully here, because I think it is important to get in his words:
"Even though Keisteri said on Saturday, before the UMK win that he would be ready to represent Finland at Eurovision regardless of Israel partisipating, he also siad he wishes that Israel wasn't allowed to. The matter is not so simple now that he has actually won UMK.
'I'm not in this alone but with Henri. We got on this project to spread joy. That's what we want to do at Eurovision too,' keisteri says seriously.
'Everyone who's in this has to be comfortable.'"
And later in the text:
"At the moment Keisteri doesn't want to take a stance on wether his and Piispanen's trip to Malmö is certain. There is no date on teh calendar when they must have an answer.
'Were stalling it now. We want to have a few rest days, so that we can think in peace.'
You can see from Keisteri that he has ended up as the target of a rough social media beatdown as the result of the Israel situation.
Keisteri has already formed one clear opinion. He wishes that every artist chosen for Eurovision could sign a petition, that demands Israel's removal.
'I'm gladly furthering something like this.'"
Back to the other things in the article:
He has always intentionally gone against the current and against the rules. He has for years carried the "No Rules!" attitude towards life. He got it from his parents.
He was actually already a big name in underground art following circles due to his illustrations.
Particularly his 2008 designed character, Ukkeli, has gotten decent notoriety.
The denim look started from a joke video he made for a friend.
The windows95 outfit was inspired by said video and became his Flow-outfit (I'm guessing referencing Flow festival, but it is not specified.)
Windows95Man developed from there for his first ever gig, and the artist name was chosen because Dj Windows95 already existed
The artist picture taken for his first show (the one of him lying on the bed in the get up with super bright flash) has made some wild rounds on the internet as a meme completely unrelated to him
He eventually got hired for a mini gig at a bar at Flow festival. The pay seemed unreasonably bad so he intentionally played bad music like Crazy Frog. The place became totally packed. This then resulted in a huge amount of small gig offers .
He recently watched the final performance with his wife and son. His son laughed and him and his wife cried. He apparently hadn't realized the affect that their performance had had on the crowd.'
He had wanted to perform naked, in a Kalevala creation story type of performance.
Once he gets a break from all this madness, he wants to sit down with Käärijä. Apparently Jere reached out to him after the victory.

Acotar ships as social media couples
Gwynriel
• most of their content would be them singing covers
• they have a separate account where azriel mostly posts some crazy guitar riffs and some bloopers from their song cover videos
• Gwyn’s separate account would be her playing the piano and some sneak peek from the songs they’re recording.
• one of their viral contents would be Azriel singing can’t feel my face with his heart out and Gwyn shouting shut up in the background. The last part of the video was Azriel laughing out loud before cutting the clip.
• another viral video of them was when they’re at Gwyn’s favorite band’s concert. Gwyn was the one holding the phone while Azriel’s arm is wrapped around her shoulder while they both sing with the artist.
Nessian
• some days they would be a gym couple, other days they are adventurous couple. Hiking, bungee jumping, skydiving, you name it.
• Nesta has a separate account to post about her books, making Cassian do the things from the books like leaning against the doorway, make him say some lines from the book, etc.
• viral video: Nesta making Cassian read a smut novel and recording his every reaction
• another viral video: Nesta was nervous about doing the bungee jumping and Cassian doing his best to reassure her.
Elucien
• baking videos, Lucien giving flowers to Elain at very random days just because he wants to
• their content screams comfort
• viral video: when they went to a tulip festival and they talk about their future for hours while they walk around the field. Lucien has his way of telling things that makes everyone’s heart flutter, especially Elain.
• another viral video: a q&a video of how they met and one of the questions was “what’s Lucien like as a boyfriend?” and the answer goes like “truth is, when he told me back then that he liked me, I didn’t know what to say. I just got out of this relationship and I told him I wasn’t ready to enter a new relationship yet and he told me that he understands and he’d wait until I’m ready again. And I guess giving him a chance was the best decision I ever made because there’s not a single day he made me feel I wasn’t loved. He always make sure either by showing it or telling me how much he loves me”
Feysand
• rich couple lifestyle content. Everything they do screams luxury. Attends every movie premieres. Queen treatment
• they usually don’t post that much except for their vacations in Southern France or a yacht party somewhere.
• get ready with me to go on a date and the date would be in a high end restaurant outside the city near the beach
• classy outfit check
• viral video: “my boyfriend lets me choose his outfit for a week”

dress: nico hischier
tani speaks: did i right another nico fic where he’s dating his female teammate? yes because i need a distracting and this was the only thing i could think off
Tumblr media
it was natural for you and nico to show up at team events together considering you were roommates. what members of the team missed were the longing stares between the two of you or the way your fingers roamed each other's body.
you'd always try to cover the marks nico left on your body as the two of you enjoyed the night together. none of the guys on the team saw the small number 13 tattooed on your outer wrist, a late-night decision after dinner with your boyfriend.
when the two of you were out in public, there was no indication of your secret romance. nico would always end up in a group with timo, jonas and erik as you joined jack, dawson and now luke.
all six of them were oblivious to the way you and the captain barely contributed to the conversation at hand just to be able to resist going over to one another and ruining everything.
no one knew that you and nico would spend the night in each other's bed on the road or how the two of you would order room service, put on a good movie and call it a date just to avoid getting caught.
it was the night of your 21st birthday. the devils wags had kept you occupied the whole day getting ready for the night's festivities. before the party began, the girls had helped you get dressed in a short silver dress with a plunging neckline.
the moment you had tried the dress on, you knew nico would appreciate it. and you were right. the second nico saw you step out of the elevator.
"y/n," he mumbled the second he was able to get you alone. at that moment you felt as if it was only you and nico up on that roof. the noise of your cheering teammates and their significant others silenced as you relished in your captain's arms.
you and nico lasted two hours before you feigned being too drunk to walk and decided it was time to go home. the second nico stepped into your apartment he already made a move on taking your dress off.
he wasted no time taking you to your shared bedroom to show you just how crazy you made him feel. you told him how you bought the dress with him in mind and that made him go crazier.
over the time you and nico dated you enjoyed the sneaking around and secret touches when no one was looking. the way the two of you would go out with the team and be completely normal but the second you came home you knew you'd have trouble covering the marks the next day.
some of the wags picked up on the subtle hints that something was going on between you and nico. they watched the way nico would whisper something in your ear, causing you to blush. of course, when they asked their significant others they were oblivious to the whole ordeal.
luke was the only one who caught on.
everyone had gone out for a team dinner with the families. you were sat next to nico on one side and luke was sitting opposite the two of you.
the night was filled with wine bottle after wine bottle, but seeing as you, jack and dawson had some drinks prior to coming for dinner you were slightly tipsy.
luke noticed how you would whisper something into nico's ear and giggle as the captain kept a straight face. the young hughes boy didn't miss the way you would place a kiss on nico's neck or shoulder whenever you laid your head on him.
it was also at the dinner that luke noticed the tattoo on your outer wrist. the one so clearly meant for the man sitting next to you.
you spent the night thinking you and nico managed to keep your romance a secret from everyone.
but you were wrong.
everyone at the table watched the way you and nico interacted. the way you unconsciously kept you hand intertwined with his as you engaged in conversation with someone else. they watched the looks of love nico sent your way.
it clicked then to some of the wags.
the way you would smile when wearing a dress, you were thinking about the way nico would react to it when the two of you were out in public.
when you and nico reached your apartment that night you whispered in his ear "I only bought this dress so you could take it off,"

You and Aaron were celebrating your 2 year anniversary. You had been friends for much longer than that, you were one of Sean’s friends growing up, however, you always got along with Aaron. You don’t know why, but you did. You knew everything there was to know about Aaron and it made you even better partners when you finally did start dating because of it.
When you say “celebrating” it was more like, you two just woke up that morning on your anniversary, not yet begun any festivities. It was nice that he was away from the FBI academy for the weekend so you two could just spend some time together.
You planned your 1 year anniversary, but Aaron wanted to plan your 2 year anniversary. It was nice to know that he could plan things and know everything would turn out okay. You didn’t feel the need to overstep your boundary to help him plan because you knew everything would be perfect, whatever he planned.
And it was. Everything he did plan for your 2-year anniversary was perfect.
After getting out of bed after some morning festivities with Aaron, you both showered for the day and walked to a local breakfast shop that you two both loved ever since you two were kids. It was family-run, so you only appreciated the food and hard work even more.
After breakfast, he decided to take you shopping at your local bookstore. You were a nerd for books. After Aaron let you spend more money on yourself than you’ve ever spent on yourself, you two decided to go home and curl up on the couch while he watched a golfing event and you read your book.
It was very peaceful. You appreciated every moment you had with Aaron, especially since being a lawyer had him constantly busy so you never knew when the next time was that you were going to have him to yourself with no caseloads.
“Aaron?”
“Yeah?”
He stopped watching the TV and turned to look at you. You loved that he would stop whatever he was doing to pay attention to you. It shows that he was willing to listen and that you were important too.
“What’s going to happen to us? Are we going to stay together forever? Will we get bored of each other? Will we get married? Will we have 6 Hotchner kids running around?”
“Honey, I don’t know what’s in store for us. I just know that I see myself spending the rest of my life with you. There’s no one else for me. I want you and all your perfections for the rest of my life. If we get married, we get married. If we have kids, maybe not 6, we have kids.”
“Hey! You’ve known since you and I first hung out alone without Sean that I’ve wanted 6 kids.”
“Yeah, and I hoped every day from that point on that I’d be the one to give you 6 kids.”
He smirked at you and you thought it was the hottest thing ever. He knew it was an absolute turn-on for you when he talked about giving you, kids. He was very possessive as well, he wanted your kids to be ones he helped create and raise.
“You and I have nothing to worry about. It’ll be you and me together forever. I’m crazy about you. I’d do anything for you. You’re my girl and I love you.”
As you began to kiss Aaron, long forgetting about the TV show he was watching and the book you were reading. It quickly turned into a heated makeout session and turned into something more.
It was later in the evening that you and Aaron finally began to get ready for your date night. When you finished getting ready and walked out into your living room to meet him, his eyes immediately roamed over your body. You’d seen him speechless only a few times, but the way he was looking at you, you knew if you didn’t leave soon, your plans would be ruined as would all your makeup and outfit.
“Come on, Aar. We can’t be late. Put your tongue in your mouth and stop drooling.”
When you walked over to give Aaron a kiss on his lips, he whispered, “You look gorgeous.”
He was the biggest hypeman known to mankind. He made you feel good in whatever it was you were doing. If you were starting to read a book, he’d hype you up to finish it so you could tell him all about it. If you wore an outfit that was brand new, he’d hype you up like you were the best supermodel to walk the Earth.
He truly was the best man you’d ever known. You loved Sean as your friend, but dating Aaron was just different. You got to know everything about Aaron, things Sean didn’t know.
“Are you ready to go, gorgeous?”
“Yes, Aaron. Let’s go. We can’t be late.”
You and Aaron went out to a restaurant and after sharing a meal with your handsome boyfriend, he decided to go out to a bar afterward. It was one of your favorite bars near a college town. They did karaoke on Wednesdays and Saturday nights and it was filled with a bunch of locals. The way you went, they all knew you by now, but Aaron, they’d only seen a couple of times.
He wasn’t that big on karaoke, but if it’s something you loved and he knew that. You weren’t a good singer by any means but you still did love to sing just for the fun of it. Aaron loved to see you singing your heart out with the locals.
What he really loved was just to see you happy.
He signed you and him up for a duet and when you tried to ask him what song, he kept saying, “You’ll see.”
When you looked over at him, watching him take a sip of his beer, you chuckled softly as you took his hand in yours.
When you kissed his hand, you began laughing at the friend group singing right then and there. You leaned into him and then you and he began singing with everyone else, just laughing and having a good time.
Soon, it was yours and Aaron’s turn to sing. He had chosen Love Story, by Taylor Swift. When you smiled at him, you began to sing. Both of you are love-struck with each other.
You began to sing, “I got tired of waiting. Wondering if you were ever coming around. My faith in you was fading. When I met you on the outskirts of town. And I said Romeo save me, I’ve been feeling so alone. I keep waiting for you but you never come. Is this in my head, I don’t know what to think.”
Just as you turned to Aaron, he began to sing, “I knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring”. At that moment, everyone in the bar sang the rest of the song while Aaron had a ring out and he was down on one knee.
It was a dream proposal come true. You knew right then and there you wanted to spend the rest of your life with him. He picked up on little things; how you loved the bar you were at, how you absolutely fell in love with this song when it first came out.
Now, 13 years later, you were sitting in Aaron’s office. He had just told you that you’re the strongest person he’d ever met, yet he doesn’t know half of what you went through. You don’t even know how he could say that to you when he’s the strongest person you’d ever met. He went through abuse from a parent. His wife died from a serial killer he was hunting. If anything, Aaron should have commented on how you were a coward. It took you 10 years to come forward.
“Aaron. How could I be the strongest person you ever met? It has taken me 10 years to come forward about Jake. I hid everything. I covered up what he did to me. Aaron, I had his baby. I love Mason, so much. But what if that gets passed to Mason.”
“No, no, it won’t get passed to Mason because you’re raising him. You know I grew up in that situation.”
He’s right. If anything, you were looking at a prime example of how you wanted your son to turn out. Aaron was strong. He endured the pain much later in his childhood.
“It was worse for you, Jake never touched him. I just don’t want Mason to turn into Jake someday.”
As far as you knew, Jake never laid a hand on Mason. You wanted to keep it that way. You’re just glad Mason wasn’t old enough to experience the trauma that you went through. That’s what made you realize you needed to get out of that relationship.
“Some grow up to be killers, but some grow up to catch them. I grew up to catch them because I wanted to save people like my mom and Sean. Mason is going to grow up knowing what it feels like to be loved. I didn’t feel that often until you came into my life.”
“I just don’t want Mason to grow up and be angry at me.”
You began to cry in front of Aaron again. You didn’t care. This was the first time you’ve cried in front of a man in 12 years. The last time was in front of Aaron, but in a different situation. He was the one who broke your heart. It’s funny how you cried to him about a man when 12 years ago, you were the one crying about him.
Aaron had walked into your shared apartment. Slowly, closing the door, he was quietly searching to see if you were in the living area or in the kitchen. When he saw you were in neither place, he called out your name.
“In the bedroom, honey.”
When Aaron loosened his tie on the way to his bedroom, it was like he was doing a walk of shame. His head was hung low, his eyes already glossed over. You wouldn’t know why for about 2 more minutes.
“Hey honey, sorry. I’m just putting laundry away.”
You kissed him and watched him walk into the bathroom. Maybe it was just a bad day. You know that it happened to him a lot, you didn’t blame him. If you were in his position, you don’t think you’d be able to handle it as well as he did some days.
You wanted to get his mind off of it so you wanted to start talking about your wedding, which was only two months away from the exact date.
“Aaron, look what came in today. The final piece for the centerpieces came. I’ve been messing around with them and there are a few ways I’d like to see them displayed on the tables. I have a couple of them set up. Can you help me decide on them?”
You watched Aaron come out of the bathroom slowly, still not sure how you were going to help him. You wanted to help him in any way you can since he’s always been there for you.
“Come here, look.”
You grabbed his hand and you felt him tense at your touch. That had never happened before. You would have noticed it before if he tensed at your touch, wouldn’t you?
“Aaron, what’s going on?”
“I’m sorry. I can’t. We can’t do this.”
You don’t know if you heard him right. What does he mean by ‘we can’t do this’. You were hoping that you’d be able to talk him out of whatever was going to happen.
“We need to break off the engagement?”
“What?”
“I can’t keep you safe. My job is too much. I can’t lose you. There’s too much bad in this world, Y/n. You’re the one good thing that I don’t want them to take from it. If we break it off now, I won’t lose you. Our kids won’t grow up without a mom. I just, can’t do this. I can’t feel this guilt if something were to ever happen to you. I already feel guilty enough that I bring home my dark and gray world when it clashes with your bright, color-filled world. I don’t want to be the one who brings you down. I don’t want you to be taken from this world, you’re the only good thing in it.”
You wanted to say so much, but you didn’t. You were caught off guard. You were beginning to break down and cry, but you didn’t want him to see you like this. You silently just nodded your head, wiped his tear and he whispered, “Please say something.”
You took off the ring he’d given to you. All the memories of your time with him flooding back to your brain, the proposal, all the wedding prep, it just broke you down even more. When you packed a bag, he followed you around like a lost puppy. He wanted this. You couldn’t do anything about it, there were no words that could come out of your mouth.
“I’m going to stay at Sean’s for tonight. I’ll be back to get my things in the morning. I’ll be moved out by the afternoon. I’ll take all the wedding stuff and send it back. You won’t have to worry about anything.”
Thinking back, that was the downfall of it all. Aaron would never forgive himself. You wouldn’t forgive yourself for not fighting harder. But, he deserved someone more. You always thought he had that with Haley until she died. You realized that every time he cried after her death, it could have been you he was crying over.
The only problem was. The minute you walked into his office, clearly disturbed, he felt guilty. When you told him everything that happened to you, he felt guilty, and heartbroken, because when you two split up, you met Jake.
Your abuser.
Had Aaron never broken your heart, you would have never been abused. You would have felt love. You would’ve been safe with him. Maybe had he stayed with you, Foyet never would’ve happened. But then he wouldn’t have Jack and you wouldn’t have Mason.
You and he could've had babies running around. But no, he broke your heart. You suffered through years of domestic violence, and he couldn’t see anything wrong every time you guys met up for lunch. You were the greatest con artist he could ever meet.
He would never forgive himself for not seeing that you were in a domestic relationship. He was a profiler, being played every time you two went out for lunch. It only made him think back to a few of your lunches, trying to pinpoint where something should have been off, if you were secretly trying to tell him something, that wouldn’t have given it away to the average person but should have given it away to the one person who cared about you the most.
“Mason is going to turn out just fine. He’s going to see how strong his mother is. He is being raised by the greatest woman in the entire world.”
“And what about me? I have no one, Aaron. I have no one to help me. I’m alone, I’m scared. Jake’s got more money than I could even think of. His dad is a lawyer for god’s sake. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I’m a teacher. I don’t have mounds of money laying around to get the best lawyer in the world.”
“You have me. Okay, you have me, you have my team. My team, believe it or not, is the dream team. We will take care of you. I’m going to take care of you. Right now, I need you to trust me. Please. Let me help you.”
“Okay. Okay. But I owe you everything. I owe you so-”
“No, no. You don’t owe me anything. It’s my fault you’re in this position. Had I never broken your heart, broken off the engagement, Jake would have never happened.”
You looked at Mason then looked back up at Aaron. With tears in your eyes, all you could see was your lover. The one you wanted to marry all those years ago. The one you wish would have objected at your and Jake’s wedding when the officiant said something along the lines of “speak now or forever hold your piece”.
You remember searching the crowd when the officiant said that, praying to whoever was listening that Aaron would say something. Even when you locked eyes with him, you watched him sit forward slightly, the wind looked like it was knocked out of him, and just when you held your breath, you watched him lean back in his seat, an apology filling his eyes.
“Hon-, we have to get you to the hospital. I need you to have an exam. Please.”
“I don’t want him to get to Mason.”
“He will never get Mason, I will promise you that. Please. Let me help you. You can trust me.”
“Yeah? How could I? When I trusted you, you broke my heart.”
Okay, that was really uncalled for. You know Aaron feels guilty enough, but you didn’t care. When he broke off the engagement, you met Jake shortly after. Is it your fault for not getting out sooner? Many would think it is, but it’s hard being in an abusive relationship, especially when you don’t even notice it at first.
“Aaron, I’m sorry, that was uncalled for. I know I can trust you, I’m just, I’m on edge. You wouldn’t know this.”
“Hey. Hey. Slow down. I’m not mad. I deserved that. It’s been 12 years since I broke off the engagement. In fact, today should have been our 12-year wedding anniversary.”
When he looked at you, you saw the tears forming in his eyes, slowly keeping himself together. He couldn’t break down, not in front of you. You were an abused woman, and yet he was on the verge of tears.
“I’m going to get you the help you need. My friend is taking the case pro bono. He owes me a favor, so he’s repaying me. You’re going to stay with Jack and me until Jake’s in prison. You’re not going back to get everything until he’s in custody or my team goes with you. When my team goes with, Mason will be in an FBI vehicle, surrounded by armed agents.”
“Aaron.”
“Let me help you.”
“Okay. Okay. It all started right before the wedding.”
Someone knocked on the door and Aaron’s heart slowly broke more and more when he watched you flinch. Aaron stood up to grab the door, hand on the gun that was on his hip. When he saw it was Rossi, he looked at you and said, “It’s Dave, it’s okay.”
Dave came in and you saw him holding the photo of you and Aaron.
“The tracking device is disabled from your car, we’re going to leave the vehicle at the building and give you a rental. This way, we know for sure you won’t be tracked and he can’t track the license plate.”
“Thank you, Dave.”
“Hotch, can I have a word with you?”
“Yeah. Y/n, stay here with Mason, you’re safe here. I promise nothing is going to happen to you. Stay in the office, here, Dave, help me move the coffee table so Mason can do some tummy time. I’m going to the office right next door, then, you know what I’m going to ask you when we come back. I’m going to need you to tell us everything.”
You weren’t ready to tell Aaron. You thought you were, but you weren’t.
“I’ll tell him, everything.”
Dave looked at Aaron and said, “That’s fine, you don’t have to tell me.”
“No. Dave, I’m going to tell you everything. Aaron, you’re going to have to go with your team, because, I’m just not ready to tell you yet. I can’t see the reaction on your face, Aar. It’ll break you even more than me showing up today, battered and littered with bruises and trauma.”
Aaron just nodded and you realized that was another dagger to his heart. When he walked out with Rossi, you laid Mason’s blanket on the ground with some toys and sat next to Mason. Mason was reaching for the toys and beginning to smile. It just allowed you some time to break down, without Aaron in front of you.
“When were you going to tell us you two were engaged?”
“I wanted to, but I didn’t want to tell her. Where did you even get that picture?”
Aaron took the picture of you and him from that bar when he proposed and saw the ring taped to it. Emotions and memories flooded his brain and all he could think was how bad he messed up life for you. Breaking off that engagement led to you being abused. That was two women he had lost. He lost you first and then he lost Haley. He will always have a special place in his heart for Haley, she’s the mother of his child, but you, you were and are so much more than that. You were the one he wanted to have 6 kids with. You were the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with until he messed that all up.
Rossi looked at Aaron and said, “If she doesn’t want you in the room when she talks about what happened to her, you can’t be in the room. You know that Aaron.”
“She’s scared Dave. I have to protect her now more than ever.”
Aaron walked back into his office and he just stopped and admired you talking and playing with Mason. He knew you’d be an amazing mother. You were always great with the neighbor’s kids when you two lived together. You often would leave work and would pick the neighbor’s kids up from school and daycare and bring them home. Your neighbor was a single dad with three kids. You felt bad they didn’t have a mother figure, so you tried to help when you can, not overstepping. You always thought about what happened to those kids. The oldest one would be 18 now, the youngest one being 14.
Then your phone began to ring, and it broke Aaron out of whatever trance he was in. Fear flashed before your eyes and Aaron caught it.
“It’s okay. Who is it?’
“It’s him, Aaron.”
Aaron said, “You’re going to answer. Keep him talking for as long as you can.”
He opened his office door and shouted for Penelope to track the phone call. His team came around him and Penelope came into the office and sat at the desk. Aaron sat next to you on the floor and said, “Answer, it’s okay. I’m right here. Nothing can happen to you anymore.”
You picked up the phone with shaky hands. All that was grounding you was holding Aaron’s hand and looking at your son. The only two boys in the world you trusted in that moment.
“Hey honey.”
“Y/n, where’d you go. I thought you weren’t doing anything this weekend?”
“I went to visit a friend. I’m staying the night at their place.”
“No. I want you home, now. You didn’t ask to spend the night, you didn’t say anything, it also looks like we’ve been robbed. Don’t lie to me. I know where you are. You’re with Aaron. Aren’t you? Your one and only true love, huh?”
“Yes, I’m visiting him. Aaron’s wife passed away and his son is having a really hard time and so is he. I was best friends with him, Jake. You have to realize that before you, it was Aaron and I as friends.”
“No. No. You’re cheating on me, aren’t you? I always suspected it. You were a slut before I met you. You’re being a slut now. You want a reason to stay away? I’ll give you one. I’ll kill you before you even have the chance to come home.”
Before you could say anything, the line went dead. Fear had struck you. He knows where you are, he knows you’re with Aaron. The last thing you wanted to do was endanger Aaron.
You let go of Aaron and put your phone on the ground.
“He knows where I am, Aaron. He said he was going to kill me before I had the chance to come home. I’m going to die and he’ll get custody of my son, I’m scared, Aaron.”
You began to fall apart. Tears ran down your face and before you could begin to wipe them, Aaron pulled your body against his, and rubbed your back. It only made everything worse when Aaron saw a bruise on your face that your hair had been covering, the scratch mark that ran down your neck, and the words from Penelope, “He’s on his way here.”

heart is gonna flatline || l.h.
tour puts luke and lucy's feelings to the test. addiction to sex, alcohol and weed for when things get hard. SMUT.
this was so fun to write ! loved to participate in the @5sos-fic-fest this year. hope you enjoy this. here's the ao3 link.

FEEDBACK IS ENCOURAGED AND APPRECIATED
Tumblr media
Prompt Au where the characters are both famous musicians with their own projects who have a well-documented public friendship. When they announce a tour together fans go crazy, as do the shippers. As the tour progresses, maybe the shippers are on to something…
Pop-rockers 5SOS and Latina indie-rocker Lucía Huerta announce tour together Last year, there were rumors about the frontman of the Australian band -Luke Hemmings, 27- and relatively new sensation Lucía "Lucy" Huerta, 28. They'd been caught leaving West Hollywood bars together, late at night, on numerous occasions. They put the speculation to a stop when in June 2023 Lucy uploaded an Instagram story of her and the blond having a drink. She tagged Hemmings and wrote "that's the homie", to which Luke replied in his own stories "that's me :)". They've been seen hanging out repeatedly since then, but it doesn't seem any more platonic than work friends. And speaking of work friends, 5 Seconds of Summer and Huerta just announced a 2024 tour that definitely excited fans, not just because of the vibrant shows they expect to see later in the year, but also because they want to see how the relationship of the two stars will develop during the four-month North American dates. Here at Music Getaway, we'll definitely keep a close eye on them.
-
"i'm not ready to tell them yet," lucy says to his boyfriend as she leaves the coffee cup on the kitchen counter next to them. they've been dating for eight months. it's been hard to hide their relationship from the press, and luke isn't too keen on the idea. he actually hates it. but he loves lucy. he loves that she's a talented musician, her laugh, her jokes and her business smarts. and he just can't enjoy this in peace, not with being so secretive.
"you've been saying that for months now. when are you gonna be okay with this? with us?" luke doesn't get it. why hide when they go out on dates and he can finally press a hand on her ass in public to stop the thirst traps people seem to tag her on. hoping to get a chance with her? fuck no. the blond wants her all to himself, he can't deny that.
lucy twists her lips, stalling. the smell of freshly brewed breakfast coffee dancing around them. "you don't understand." she finally says, reaching a hand to touch his arm for a few seconds. the thought of being out in the open with luke would change everything. "people will treat me differently. they might not respect me anymore."
"what are you talking about?"
"luke, come on. i got my own interview with kelly clarkson and then i played the iheartradio festival." they'd been incredible opportunities. "all of my hard work goes away the minute they know we're together. they'll say oh she was fucking the rockstar and he got her those big breaks. i don't want that. i don't want people to minimize my efforts."
luke sighs and shakes his head. "is that what's more important?" lucy shrugs. "okay," he finally says.
"okay?"
"yeah. it's fine. i get it. i won't bring it up again."
lucy throws her arms around his neck. "thank you," she whispers before kissing his lips softly. "i love you."
-
luke sits with ashton outside the rehearsal room. they've been playing for nearly two hours and they need a breather, especially because luke's mind is spinning. "i don't know, man. it sucks." they hear chattering on the other side of the door, a few guitar riffs and then laughter.
"of course it sucks, mate," ashton tells his friend. "she doesn't want to be in your shadow. it really fucking sucks and you better not fuck this up for her. you know how hard she's been working." he had grown fond of lucy. she was as much of a fan of drums as he was. he taught her a few fills and she invited him to do yoga and get high, ending up talking about how the unconscious force of creativity is beyond any of us. ashton doesn't want to see her heartbroken because of her boyfriend's, his best friend's inability to trust someone who really loves him.
-
luke's insecure, there's no question about that. after his marriage fell apart, he fell into a depression. and when he got better, he found this woman in the venue of the iheartradio festival, she was wearing cool sunglasses and stevie nicks-looking clothes. hippie goth he would've dared to say. they were watching the soundcheck of another band and started talking after she took out a cigarette from her backpack and asked him for a lighter.
"sorry, no. i don't smoke."
"that's okay," she smiled.
that was all she said before looking for -and eventually finding- a lighter in the outside pocket of her small backpack.
the man looked up at the sky, the sun shining bright and the warm air of the field. he squinted one eye and turned to her. "they sound pretty good," he said of the band that was talking onstage, between songs. she nodded her head. "do you know them?"
"not personally, no," she replied and blew smoke out in a thin line. "but i've been a fan of them for a while now. they're one of my favorite indie bands."
that got them talking, eventually introducing themselves and catching up later after each other’s set. there was chemistry and flirting. luke's band immediately caught up to what was happening, when he said he was gonna congratulate lucy and be right back. but he didn't and it took them a full while to find him, thirty minutes before they went up and played.
-
"you got a lighter?"
calum nods and lights the cigarette for her. the smoking area of the building being a small parking lot.
"thanks," she breathes out. "you out here on your own?"
the bassist nods. "it's a good place to think."
lucy smiles and rolls her eyes. “cheesy,” she says with a grin.
"where's loverboy?" he asks, a cheeky smile on his face. calum was the first one to see them kissing. it was an afterparty at his band photographer's place. he'd gone to the kitchen when everyone started leaving, eight in the morning. when he went back to the living room with a cup of coffee, he saw lucy snuggled up to luke, smiling at him. luke smiled back and leaned in to kiss her. "aren't you guys glued to the hip anymore?"
lucy chuckles, "i don't know. there's... a lot happening."
"i'm listening."
"uh... okay. so... we decided to not tell everyone yet that we're dating. Not even with the tour. and i think he's mad at me."
"why do you say that?"
"he's been more... distant. and i don't know if that's what i wanted but it feels like... payback. like, you banned us and now i'm gonna make sure you feel it type of thing."
"i'm sure it's not that."
a bitter chuckle leaves her lips. "helpful as usual, cal."
-
cincinatti, first stop of the you don't go to parties tour. lucy had laughed when they first told her the name of the tour, but she eventually grew to like it and even embrace it. it's 6 pm and her soundcheck just ended. security lets fans in for a q&a with 5sos. she walks over to her boyfriend and smiles at him, wanting to kiss him good luck, or maybe just because she loves him. but luke stops her before she can even tilt her head up to reach his lips.
"we can't now. remember?"
it leaves her heart sore. she stands still as luke enters the stage and is greeted with the cheering of the fans. the rest of the guys are already seated on the small stairs of the set. she watches him ignore her and the questions about her. michael replies to one of them by saying she's our friend and we care for her and we're pretty inspired by her work as well, so it seemed like a good idea to, like, join forces and do this tour together.
lucy hopes luke will acknowledge her at some point, but he doesn't. when they start playing talk fast for the few lucky seventy fans in the audience, she twists her lips and leaves, heading backstage.
-
he doesn't see her until she's onstage again, playing her set of amazing songs for the 16,000 people attending the show. they dance and scream the lyrics back to her. she plays her guitar and sings with her raspy grunge-style voice over the indie-pop-rock arrangements her backing band provides. his heart beats faster as she approaches the microphone and starts talking.
"and thank you to my friends in 5sos who have been kind enough to invite me to co-headline this tour. the you don't go to parties tour seemed a little odd to me at first because this is definitely a party, isn't it?" she smiles as the crowd cheers. "so thank you guys," lucy turns to the left of the stage and sees luke standing next to her guitar tech. "i really fucking love you."
-
because of technical issues, the band can't perform the whole setlist. sometimes it happens. ashton is always pissed. "they're missing the whole experience!"
"yeah, well. nothing we can do. venue told us we could do the whole hour and a half but because of the issue with the speakers, they can't last that long. you have to cut two songs."
the tour manager tries to hold this thing together as ashton and michael complain. calum offers suggestions.
"i guess we could lose um... we could lose babylon, right? just this once and... flatline maybe?" the bassist looks over at luke.
flatline is the one song they had never played live before and it’d be a surprise for the audience. especially because lucy would come onstage to sing it with them. play the rhythmic guitar while luke walks around, hyping up the crowd. they'd rehearsed it several times and she was excited about it. they both were. allegedly.
"sure," luke replies as he drinks a glass of tequila, setting it down on a table and making sure his guitar is properly tuned. "let's cut them."
michael and ashton look at each other and then at luke. the frontman shrugs and his friends tell the tour manager that they will cut babylon and flatline.
-
all of the musicians have separate rooms in the hotels. even luke and lucy. she'd insisted it'd be easier. luke hated it. and he didn't expect her to show up at his room, unannounced, with a frown on her forehead and breathing hard.
"you cut our song," she steps inside the white room with the white walls, white bed and white comforter. looking at luke, the woman crosses her arms.
"we had to," he simply states. as if he wasn't the one greenlighting the whole thing.
"you could've told me, though. i was looking stupid next to the stage, waiting for you to introduce me. and it never happened."
"is that all that matters to you? how you look in front of other people? we had to cut two songs, lucy. the surprise's gonna be even bigger in the next show. fans will appreciate that."
lucy twists her lips and walks straight past him towards the door. "you're an asshole," she says before closing it behind her.
-
the beginning of the flight to boston is awkward. the whole twelve -the bands and the crew- can sense the tension inside the plane. it stems from luke and lucy, obviously. when did everything get so uneasy?
twenty minutes into the duration of the flight, though, luke slides into the seat next to his girlfriend. she doesn't look at him.
"i should've told you."
"yeah, you should've."
her heart beats faster as he places a hand on her cheek, guiding her eyes towards his own. he looks inside the brown hues and decides he can't keep hurting her. but she hurt him first. he wants to grow up and let it go. it's proving to be harder than he thought. maturity hasn't caught up to him easily yet. "i'm sorry." she closes her eyes and luke leans in to kiss her. "i'm sorry," he repeats.
a hand on his wrist, lucy is sad. looking into his eyes makes her sad. "it's okay," she finally says.
-
"and now we've got a pretty special surprise for you," michael grins into the microphone as the whole venue screams. "it's time to invite lucy huerta back on stage!" he shouts with a smile.
luke thinks lucy looks so fucking edible in those tight pants and that see-through top. her smile is big as she waves to the audience and settles on the center of the stage, where luke usually is. he gets another microphone from one of the roadies before ashton counts to four with his hi-hat.
should've seen me like a year ago, year ago/i was someone you don't even know, even know/dark times kept me all alone, all alone/you were shining like a heart of gold, heart of gold
he steals glances at her as she smiles into the crowd that’s going wild, her acoustic guitar hanging from her shoulders.
luke was depressed after the divorce, staying home and drinking himself to sleep. then he got his shit together (half of it at least), went to the studio and worked through his issues by writing songs. when he met lucy, luke thought she was the most wonderful person on the planet. she had the kindest heart and was an overall joy to have around. he sings the pre-chorus and is taken aback by her strong voice as she takes over the song with her playing and her singing.
ooh, i'm falling for the first time/heart is gonna flatline/now i can't even look at you/you're like staring at the sunshine, burning into my mind/now i can't even look at you
and she doesn't. she doesn't look at him as she sings, unlike rehearsals when they couldn't stop singing to each other. it breaks his heart, considering it's their song. he wrote this for her.
"thank you!" lucy shouts and then leaves the stage waving everybody goodbye.
-
after the show, luke showed up to her hotel room. the bands were out clubbing and when he heard lucy wasn’t gonna join them, he immediately took an uber back to where they were staying.
“let me in, please,” he says after knocking on her door three times. when she finally appears, she’s wearing a towel around her body and another one around her hair. she looks tired. “can i come in?”
without saying a word, lucy steps aside and luke walks into her room. she closes the door behind her and approaches him.
“talk to me,” he basically begs. reading her mind is like an unsolvable sudoku, the man can’t get his head around it. “I love you.”
“i love you, too,” she whispers, looking down at his messy converse sneakers.
luke quickly grabs her face and kisses her. it’s passionate and arousing and she can feel herself melting under his touch. she knows they should actually talk about it, instead of making out and falling on the bed, her towels discarded somewhere on the floor. she can’t help it. they’re both sex addicts. lucy rips his thin black shirt open and kisses down his chest, leaving his skin wet with the droplets that run down her hair. his breathing grows heavier and his pants grow tighter in the crotch area. he closes his eyes as she trails the kisses back up to his face. “take it off,” she pleads and sits next to him. luke quickly reincorporates himself to toss his shirt, his slacks and his underwear out of the way. he’s big and pulsating and lucy swallows hard, he turns her on so much.
when the last item of clothing hits the floor, one of his shoes, the man licks his upper lip and straddles her body, hovering over her. “you really want me, huh?” his smirk is cocky, as if he’s forgotten everything about these past few days. it’s like nothing ever happened and they’re still in their love bubble. she so desperately wants to go back to it, so she nods and wraps her arms around his neck, bringing him to her lips as she parts her legs. luke hooks an elbow on her knee and spreads her wider, watching her folds throb for him. so slick and ready. he kisses her once more before carefully dropping her leg onto the bed. “condom,” he says. “i need to fuck you now.”
lucy reaches out to the bag she keeps on the nightstand. eyeliner, pills and condoms. she hands him one and it doesn’t take long before his cock is ready. luke smirks and kisses her, lining himself against her entrance with one hand, he takes a deep breath and penetrates her.
her gasp shouldn’t come as a surprise, given that it’s the same sound every time, not at all used to having him being so big and thick yet, even after all these months. she closes her eyes and bites her lower lip as luke runs a hand through his damp curls, letting her adjust to his size. he groans as he feels her walls engulfing him. “i want you so much,” he offers a low moan and starts picking up the pace of his thrusts. bringing one of her legs over his shoulder, the man reaches a deeper spot that makes her moan out.
“fuck,” she pants as the bed bounces underneath their bodies. luke’s strength and determination to fuck her stupid works. her eyes roll to the back and she digs her short nails into his naked back. “more,” she begs and is immediately met with a hand around her throat. “more,” her plead is inaudible as she feels like she can’t breathe from the pleasure.
luke’s pupils are dilated in a way she’s never seen before. he tightens her grip around her throat and around her leg. gulping down at the sight of his girl falling apart under him, he tries to restrain louder moans but how can he? how can he fuck her quietly when she looks and feels so fucking good? “say you’re mine,” he orders. “say you’re mine.”
-
the morning sun shines through the window and rests its light on lucy’s face. She scrunches her nose and opens her eyes. she’s lying on luke’s chest, they’re both naked. he doesn’t seem to notice her shifting. the woman looks up at him, wondering when things got so complicated. she loves him. she truly loves him. he’s the first man she’s ever loved, in a real way, not a platonic crush way. the fact that he makes her laugh and his skills when making music and also in bed are extraordinary. he’s a sensitive soul and it’s such a wonder when he lowers down the walls he builds up around people. letting them in but not all the way. not in the way he does with her. or did. “why can’t you trust me with your thoughts anymore?” lucy wonders in a soft whisper before pressing a kiss to his sternum and getting up. she goes to the bathroom and takes a shower. when she opens the door that leads to the bedroom, luke is up and scrolling through his phone. “hi,” she smiles softly. her boyfriend’s hair is a mess and there’s still sleep inside his eyes.
“hey,” the man smiles back, putting his phone away. “flight’s at 6. you wanna do something today?”
lucy leans against the frame of the bathroom door. she crosses her arms in front of her chest and thinks for a moment while twisting her lips. “what do you have in mind?”
-
they both go down in the elevator, not touching, and it’s killing them. when they reach the hotel’s diner, they find calum and ashton sitting at one of the tables, drinking orange juice and eating bagels.
“you guys had fun last night,” calum smirks as the couple sits down with a plate of waffles and two cups of coffee.
lucy blushes and luke has to stop every inch of his urgent body to wrap an arm around her shoulders. “shut up,” they both say in unison. there’s a soft smile on their faces.
after michael drops by to have a quick breakfast and then leaves to facetime his wife and his baby daughter, the rest of them decide that it would be cool to go out and explore the city. so they do that. they go to a park and sit around, smoking and drinking warm water because of the summer heat upon them. a couple of fans stumble across them and ask for pictures. they stay for around ten minutes before leaving off to continue their day, the musicians keep on enjoying the sun and the fresh air. if you ignore calum and lucy’s cigarettes, that is.
they go to lunch at a nearby restaurant and order pasta salads. lucy looks over at luke across the table, he’s laughing at one of ashton’s jokes and she sighs almost imperceptibly, looking down at her empty plate. there’s a single ravioli and two tomato slices on it. she looks up when she feels a foot against her ankle and sees luke smiling softly at her.
they can’t help but fuck in the restaurant’s bathroom. locked into a single stall, she drops to her knees and sucks him off. luke pins her against the door and buries his head on her neck to muffle the sounds when he slides into her. she’s got a leg wrapped around his waist and she swallows hard to hush the sounds she wants to make.
when they reach back the table, they find that ashton and calum have deserted them, leaving them with the bill. “assholes,” she says and luke laughs.
-
Seen out: Luke Hemmings and Lucía Huerta have an off day in Boston
The pair walked out of the Intercontinental Hotel with Ashton Irwin (5SOS’ drummer) and Calum Hood (5SOS’ bassist). They were seen by fans at Fenway Park and they took pictures with them. Luke looks tired in the photos, but he seems happy. He wears roughed-up sneakers and a white tank top. Lucy wears short denim shorts and a black top with flowy sleeves. The fans that tagged them in the Instagram posts spoke about how nice they were and how exciting it was to meet them. Hemmings and Huerta were both seen leaving Tenderoni’s Fenway restaurant and getting into an Uber. According to inside sources, the pair haven’t been able to keep their hands off each other during this tour so far. We hope it stays that way.
-
“fuck,” lucy’s frustration about the latest hollywood gossip blog post seems to go unnoticed on the plane. but luke can tell, and he wraps an arm around her the minute they both sit down. “they know. they seem to know,” she hands him her phone so he can read the writing piece. she hates it. she hates it so much. “inside sources can suck my dick.” this statement makes luke giggle. “what’s so funny?” she asks, annoyed.
“nothing.”
-
the next cities go by in a time whirlwind. lucy’s been distant since the article and it breaks luke’s heart. she refused to hold his hand and kiss him outside hotel rooms. even concerts’ backstages.
a few months after they met, they attended a house party in santa monica. the sparks between them were something everybody noticed, but they didn’t seem to think much of it. they’re rockstars, they’re the same age, of course they’re gonna flirt. luke fucked her in the spare bedroom, door locked. she gasped when she felt his cock for the first time, knowing he’d just made her addicted to it. he’d ruined every other man for her.
“we should head back downstairs.”
“i wanna stay here with you.”
“luke.” his name was rough against her lips as she hooked her bra back on.
“alright, i’m up.”
looking back, that should’ve been a red flag for him, but he chose to ignore it. because she made him feel good and he didn’t want her to leave him for somebody else. he didn’t want to be left again. he’d loved his ex-wife, and it was hard to get over her after she cheated on him. lucy had never been in a relationship, just random hookups, a friend with benefits and two weeks of winter love. she feared intimacy and luke could tell after the second time they had sex. spend the night, he’d said. lucy shook her head and told him she needed to get up early in the morning for an interview, which was a lie.
-
by the time the first month rolls around, they’re barely talking. It’s all sex and pretending onstage. pretending to have fun, pretending that they’re not hurt. their hearts break in silence. well, sort of.
“i told you not to fuck it up.”
“she won’t let me in. she won’t talk to me about it.”
“fix it.”
-
someone just like you, no one else/lights will guide you so, run like hell
the screaming fans can’t get enough of the energy onstage. michael jumping around, calum throwing his head back to expose his neck to the crowd, ashton beasting out on the drums. luke crouches in front of the crowd with a wide smile and lucy plays guitar while she sings her heart out. the lights radiate orange and red colors on the stage, the bass resonates in their bodies and there’s so much adrenaline going on that she has a moment of weakness. she looks over at luke, who has walked over to michael’s side of the stage as he sings the second verse. he wears a silver shirt that makes his shoulders look so spectacularly broad. she looks at him a little too long and when the camera pans over to her, showing her true feelings on the giant screen, fans seem to lose it even more. luke walks back to her and sings directly into her eyes, as if he can feel his way back to his girl. finally. a sad smile appears on her face for a split second before she starts dancing while playing the post-chorus instrumental outro. her long wavy hair hides her face and no one notices a single tear rolling down her cheek. when the song ends, she pretends to be emotional about the crowd, about how much they seem to love the show. which she is very grateful for. but on the other side of the coin, she just fucked up everything for herself. her career. and it’s clear when luke approaches her with a reassuring smile and one fan screams KISS! KISS! and then the whole venue is yelling the same word over and over again. michael and calum look at each other, ashton wipes off the sweat from his forehead and when the chanting doesn’t seem to stop, he grabs his mic.
“alright, alright. calm your asses down,” the drummer laughs and the crowd follows suit. a distraction. he starts talking about how they recorded the song and thanking lucy for putting on a fantastic show with them for the beautiful souls in the audience.
lucy twists her lips, trying not to break down in front of thousands of people. so, she just waves and quickly exits the stage. luke takes a deep breath. he wants to run after her, make sure she’s okay. but she would never forgive him for giving the fans more reasons to speculate about their relationship.
-
lucy cries backstage, alone. she takes off her makeup and sees dark circles underneath her eyes. why the fuck is she such a mess? why can’t she be in love like a normal person?
-
the show ends and the first person to knock on her dressing room is, obviously, luke. “are you okay?” he opens the door and sees his girlfriend lying on the sofa, sleeping. her makeup’s off and he can better appreciate the freckles on her nose that she gets in the summer. he stays with her, sitting on the chair in front of the mirror. the man looks at her as she wrinkles her nose in her sleep. he loves her so much. but what if this it? what if this is the end for them?
michael opens the door, “what’s going on? is she okay?”
“she’s okay,” luke smiles weakly. “she’s sleeping.”
lucy holds a pillow to her chest. she’s covered by luke’s jacket. michael decides he should probably leave them alone. “good luck, man,” he says as he pats luke’s shoulder, then he leaves the door closed after stepping back out.
luke could really use a joint right now. all these thoughts and feelings. wondering what she may be dreaming. or what she does with her days when they’re not together. he hates being so possessive, it makes him feel like a child. but how can you blame him?
“good luck with what?” lucy’s yawn startles him. she rubs one eye open.
michael meant well, but he also wanted to protect luke from heartbreak. lucy’s given him that for months now. all the guys -at least in the bands- knew lucy has a bit of… issues. she believes in things to be too black or white, good or bad, yes or no. no space for grey areas in her life. and that’s frustrating to deal with, but luke had fallen in love because she was so intense and so hardheaded when it came to defending her values. He admired that about her. “I honestly have no idea,” he lies behind a chuckle, playing it off as usual band nonsense. “do you wanna go back to the hotel and sleep?”
she’s too tired to get into an argument about taking separate cars, so she just nods. “Yeah.”
-
when they get to the hotel room, luke tucks her in and pours her a glass of water that he leaves on her nightstand. he looks for ibuprofen in her small bag with pills and condoms and sets two next to the water.
“i’m sorry for being such a bitch to you,” lucy says with her eyes closed, lying on her side.
she looks so out of it. as if she’d just drank an entire bottle of vodka and then smoked weed. he feels bad. he never meant for her to feel like this when they got into a relationship. but touring always makes things hard. especially if you’re playing shows every night with the person you love. the man sighs and sits next to her. “don’t worry about me. get some sleep,” he whispers and kisses her temple.
before he can stand up, lucy grabs his arm. “can you stay with me? please.”
a soft smile sets on his lips. “of course.”
-
after landing in the next city, lucy calls her mom.
-
there are three knocks on his hotel room door. “luke?” her voice is soft. as if she’s embarrassed. she doesn’t want her mother’s words to haunt her. the man opens the door without his shirt. just sweatpants. he was probably gonna go to bed. she might as well ruin his night too.
“hey.” there’s a small pause. “what’s up?” he steps aside so she can come in. the tv’s on in the background and there’s a tray with an empty plate and a glass of tequila, just resting on his nightstand.
lucy nods her head and walks inside. “i wanna talk.”
“okay…”
“about us.”
-
Love Is All Around: It’s Insta-Official
Two months ago, the You Don’t Go To Parties Tour hit the stage. And last night, Lucía Huerta and Luke Hemmings provided some much-needed proof of their romance. “Ten months with you feel like a second. Magic. I love you.”
-
lucy sighs as she reads the article.
“are you okay?” luke asks her.
“yeah,” she replies. “just… scared, i guess.”
“it’s gonna be okay, love,” he kisses the top of her head and sits next to her on the sofa. “everything’s gonna be alright.” the dressing room is big and no one else is around. it’s noon.
tons of notifications have been hitting their phones for the past fourteen hours. some are mean comments, others are encouraging words from fans. either way, it makes lucy anxious. “do you wanna get high?” she asks her boyfriend. maybe weed isn’t the solution to every problem ever, but it helps.
the man smiles. “sure,” he says.
they go to the private parking lot of the venue. luke rolls a joint while lucy smokes a cigarette. she flicks the ashes onto the concrete, fidgeting her fingers around the cancer stick. luke isn’t the biggest fan of her smoking. and she's been smoking more as the days go by. but he understands she’s going through a lot, so he says nothing. he gets a text from calum, wondering where he and his girlfriend are. we’re gonna have lunch, join us? but the blond dismisses the message and lights the joint. he takes two hits before handing it to lucy. she brings it immediately to her lips, the slightly spicy smoke going down her throat smoothly.
it’s so easy to talk to each other. sometimes. but their words have been stunted lately. they don’t know what the other’s thinking. and yes, last night they had a good conversation. but now what? does everything go back to normal now? how? they both feel anxious around each other, and that’s never ever happened before. they both hate it.
“what do you…”
“do you ever…”
they open their mouths simultaneously, quickly chuckling at the awkwardness of their interaction. lucy nods her head, letting him know that he can finish his thought.
luke smiles. “i was gonna ask you if you ever feel like… like things are going so good between us and suddenly we get so quiet and you worry? is that… is that something you feel?”
lucy smiles back. “yeah,” she says. “i don’t really know how to explain it. i mean, i love you. you know i really fucking love you, luke. but sometimes i worry we get too inside our heads. because i think we’re really similar like that. and i… i wanna be someone you can count on…”
“i want that too,” he replies. she hands him back the joint and he smokes some more.
“and sometimes i worry i’m not that someone you deserve,” she finally confesses.
it makes him sad to hear her say that, because there’s no better person for him than her. no one has made him feel this way before. the ups and downs seem to be heightened and it’s a beautiful way to live, he doesn’t want anyone else. there’s only room in his heart for this woman. this is the hardest he’s ever fallen in love, and he can’t imagine his life without her. a bit dramatic, but hey, that’s just who he is. “i don’t deserve anyone, lucy. i just want to be with you,” he says and takes her hand, intertwining his fingers with hers. “all the time. every single fucking day.”
the woman looks down at their hands. matching red nail polish and silver-colored rings. this is scary. it’s scary to love and need someone so much that you feel like you’d die if they ever left you. please, don’t leave me. ever. lucy sighs and squeezes his hand in hers. “right back at ya,” she smiles softly and looks up to find his baby blues staring at her with so much love in them that she can’t help the weakness she feels in her knees.
the silence is barely uncomfortable anymore. unlike the ones they’ve been experiencing for countless weeks now. it’s all out in the open. their love for each other burning brighter than ever. neither want this moment to end. and since there’s only one way to stop time, they lean into each other and kiss. it’s soft at first, like a goodnight kiss. and it escalates quickly to an i-never-wanna-be-without-you one. she grabs fistfuls of his shirt, bringing him closer to her body. luke places both hands on her face as his tongue traces her bottom lip. their eyes are red and their hunger is raw.
-
they can’t get to his hotel room fast enough. fuck having lunch with friends, they need to satiate this urge so they can go on for the rest of the day. “i want you so bad,” she whines against his throat, leaving wet and sloppy kisses along his jawline. he’s already big and leaking with precum, grinding his hips against hers. unhooking her bra, luke immediately buries his head between her breasts and she whines again. those beautiful sounds he can’t get enough of.
“ride me, babe. i wanna see these titties bounce,” he whispers against her skin. hands gripping her hips. bulge so hard he feels like he’s gonna explode. they’re naked and he already has a condom wrapping his shaft. lucy bites her lower lip and lines him against her slit. he’s throbbing in her hand and that drives her insane. the moan he drags out as she strokes him is paradise. The filthiest love they’ve ever experienced. Both always wanting to fuck each other. It’s her waist, it’s his broad shoulders. The way they move on stage, wanting to look sexy for the other.
lucy sinks into his cock and lets out a whine, “fuuck.” his thick size feels so good. luke grabs her ass and spreads her cheeks open so he can penetrate her better.
“you like that?”
“yes.” her mouth hangs open and her eyes roll to the back of her head. luke has always thought of her as his pretty little pornstar. even before they started dating, the way she danced with him at the club. her back pressed to his body as his hands rested on her hips and stomach. both sweaty and a bit embarrassed when they went back to the booth with their friends.
the woman, as per requested, starts bouncing on his cock. titties moving up and down. “fuck, girl.”
-
“is it better to feel this or feel nothing at all?”
ever since the news got out about their relationship, lucy’s been a mess. interviewers can be assholes. they suddenly stopped asking about her music, her achievements. all they wanted to know about was her clothes and her boyfriend. like everything she worked for just disappeared in the blink of an eye.
she lays on her side on the hotel bed after playing a festival in latin america. luke spoons her, holding her close to his body. he doesn’t know what to say. he’s surprised by the outcome. hadn’t expected people to diminish her work, to ignore she just played the 6 pm slot, which is a hard spot to get. you need a lot of people to stay for the whole set. and she’d killed it.
“i don’t understand what happened,” luke sighs against her neck and squeezes her tighter. “i’m really sorry.”
lucy closes her eyes, feeling a bit less anxious with him. “it’s okay. the industry’s fucked up.”
“yeah,” he chuckles weakly. “it is.”
-
“so it’s true? you and luke are engaged?”
the questions about her relationship don’t seem to cease. even a year later. they go together to events and people seem to be more excited about them together than their work. it’s annoying, but what are you gonna do? “yeah, we are,” lucy smiles. “we’re also dropping a new song together next month.”
“ooh, tell us about it.”
lucy has become good at deflecting. luke taught her that.
-
“how was the interview?” luke asks after he greets his fianceé with a kiss and hands her a cup of coffee from her favorite shop.
“it was alright,” lucy shrugs. it’s definitely been a learning experience, dodging questions about her personal life. but luke has been so supportive and sweet throughout the whole thing. she’s grateful to marry her man in six months. “how was the recording session?” she asks as she sips the hot beverage.
the blond had written things throughout the tour. enough things to make an ep. “it was good,” he smiles softly.
-
the song luke and lucy release is a hit. a 90s-inspired track with her raspy vocals and his whiny ones make for an interesting texture that captures hearts everywhere. they play it on several shows, the crowds go insane every time.
a month later, lucy releases her second album. it's a hit. she's invited to play festivals and there are rumors of a grammy nomination.
"here's to my girl," luke smiles as he raises a glass of wine in front of her and their friends. "she showed the world she's a powerhouse, an amazing songwriter and performer. she's the best thing that's ever happened to me and i'm so proud of you." his gaze sets on lucy, who's blushing like crazy and smiling like an idiot. "i really fucking love you."
"right back at ya," the woman grins and stands up from the table to kiss her man. everyone cheers.
the night goes by fast. the celebration turns into a party in luke and lucy's new place in west hollywood. but the couple soon disappears into their shared bedroom. fucking until the sun comes up and their friends leave.
luke pants as his orgasm washes over him. "fuck," he breathes out, collapsing next to her on their bed.
"yeah," lucy chuckles. her body is sweaty and she wraps an arm around his torso as she snuggles up to him. looking up at his face, the man's glistening. he's the most beautiful man. he's got the biggest heart and he's never been jealous or threatened by her successes. she appreciates that. "wanna eat me out?" lucy smirks, her leg now over his, her wet pussy making contact with his thigh and she grinds into him.
"give me a second," luke lets out a soft laugh. "you really wore me out. my pretty slutty angel." he strokes her hair, hand soon trailing down to her ass. a small slap to it that makes her bite down on her lip. "okay, come on. legs spread, i'm diving in," he grins.
she does what she's told. opening her legs so luke can attach his lips to her swollen clit and start licking her folds. so sloppy. so fucking nasty. lucy groans as her breath hitches. "you're so good."
he smirks against her entrance before exploring her walls with his tongue. so fucking skilled.
-
grammy nominations announcement. luke and lucy's song gets one for song of the year. her album gets one for album of the year. they're ecstatic. it's all happening.

Come With Me
While on the run, after a morning spent slightly at odds, Scully discovers that it’s Mulder’s birthday and sets out to turn the day around.
It’s 10/13! Mulder’s birthday is today! I know there are many ways he could be spending THIS day, but what about a birthday years ago? Back when days blended together and dates became meaningless. How would those days have been celebrated?
Fictober prompt for day 13- Come with me, hurry.
Tumblr media
They had been feeling the funk. The way it got when they had been cooped up too long either in one place, or simply from being around one another for long periods of time.
She loved him, she did, but sometimes the close quarters and the fact that they were each other’s everything became too much.
They had been at a small cabin for two weeks, a wonderful little place set back at the end of a long road where no one drove as there were no other houses around. It was by a lake and they went out hiking and exploring nearly every day.
But today… today they had hit that wall.
Deciding to give him some space, Scully went for a drive, needing to feel she was in motion, even while they were standing still.
She had no destination in mind and as she drove, her stomach rumbled, reminding her that she had not eaten since breakfast. Pulling into the parking lot of a diner, she put her baseball cap on and got out, keeping her head down.
Sitting in a back booth, she ordered a sandwich and a lemonade. Looking out the window, she saw the lot next door had a carnival set up. She watched as families entered, some of their kids dressed in Halloween costumes.
“What’s the date today?” she whispered to herself and when the waitress came back, she asked her.
“Oh, it’s the thirteenth of October. Were you checking out the festival there? It’s our annual Fall Harvest Festival and it’s up until November first. On Halloween, they turn it into the Haunted Fall Harvest Festival, so if you’re into that, you should come back. It’s full of mazes and scary stuff. It’s super fun.”
“Yeah, thanks,” Scully said, a plan forming. “You know what, could I get this sandwich to go? And another one as well. Same sandwich, but without a pickle. And a large iced tea, please.”
“Sure thing. Be ready in a few minutes.”
__________
She drove down the long road to the cabin, smiling as she took a sip of her lemonade. This plan was just the thing they needed. It would be perfect.
Leaving the food in the car, she hurried inside and found Mulder on the back porch, staring out at the lake.
“Hey,” she said, smiling at him and he looked at her in surprise and she understood why, remembering the way she had left. “I know it’s gonna sound crazy, but…” She held her hand out to him and wiggled her fingers. “Come with me.”
“What?” he asked, now looking confused.
“Come with me,” she repeated, stepping closer to him. “Hurry.”
“Scully… what are you-”
“Just come on, let’s go.” She grabbed his hand and pulled at him until he stood up. “Consider it a peace offering. Now come on.” He looked at her skeptically, but did as she asked.
They rode in relative silence as she drove them to the parking lot of the festival. Parking the car, she looked at him and watched his face as she waited to see what he would think.
“A carnival?” he asked quietly.
“A harvest festival,” she said just as quietly. “They have it every year, I’ve been told.”
“A harvest festival,” he said, nodding as he smiled.
“Games and rides,” she added. “What do you think?”
“I think…” He chuckled softly and turned to look at her. “I think it’s just what we needed.”
“I agree,” she said with a smile. “But wait, it’s more than that. Close your eyes.” He raised his eyebrows in question and then as he had done at the cabin, he did as she asked.
She reached into the backseat and brought the bag holding their sandwiches and the special item she had inquired after. Taking it from the bag, she opened the packaging and smiled.
“Hold out your hands, but keep your eyes closed.”
“Okay,” he said, grinning as he put out his hands. “But if it’s a severed head, I’m gonna be very upset.”
“It’s not,” she laughed, placing the container in his hands. “And no more Wayne’s World for you. I can’t go through that again.”
“No way,” he said, scoffing in his best Wayne impression.
“Way,” she replied, smiling as she stared at him. “Okay, open your eyes.” He did, looking at what he was holding.
“A cupcake?” he asked.
“A birthday cupcake,” she said.
“No shit? It’s my birthday today?” He laughed and nodded, staring at the chocolate cupcake with orange and white frosting.
“It is,” she said, smiling as he took it out and unwrapped it, taking a large bite.
“Mmm,” he hummed, nodding as he chewed. “It’s the best cupcake I’ve ever had. Here, have a bite.”
She leaned forward and he held it as she took a small bite, wanting him to have the majority of it. It was good and she almost wished she had gotten two of them.
He smiled and when she swallowed her bite, he leaned closer and kissed her. She closed her eyes, a hand on his cheek as they kissed again, the sweetness of the cupcake adding to the sweetness of the kiss.
“I’m sorry about today,” he whispered, their foreheads pressed together, their sweet breath mingling. “I know I can be… that it can be…”
“I know,” she said, pulling back to look at him. “And it’s not you. It’s both of us. We’re both to blame at times. This was one of those times. We’ll have more and we’ll get past it.”
“Yeah,” he whispered and she smiled, kissing him one more time.
“Come on. Let’s eat and then go play some games. I want to win a big stuffed prize.”
“You don’t want me to win one for you? Be all chivalrous and shit?” he asked, shoving the rest of the cupcake into his mouth. She raised her eyebrows and laughed.
“How about I win one for you, it being your birthday and the fact that my aim is better?” she asked, taking off her seatbelt and taking the keys from the ignition.
“We’ll see what happens,” he relented, licking his fingers clean and closing the container. “What sandwiches did you get?”
________
They ate at a picnic table, laughing and occasionally kissing, the fight and grumpiness from earlier, now in the past.
He attempted to win her a stuffed dog, but missed as one milk bottle refused to fall, despite his pleading with it.
“Okay. My turn,” she said, handing the man at the booth five dollars and receiving a bucket of softballs.
She had every milk bottle down in two throws.
They both walked away with a prize, Mulder taking her hand and pulling her close, telling her how much it turned him on watching her throwing the balls.
“I think you just like saying balls,” she whispered and he chuckled, nodding in the affirmative.
They ate and drank, trying out different fried foods, until Scully groaned and said she could not take anymore.
They got lost in the large corn maze, relying on the map Scully had thoughtfully grabbed as they entered.
“I’m glad you grabbed that map. But what if it had been my plan, getting us lost,” he said, grabbing her by the belt loops of her jeans and pulling her close. He took her baseball cap off and she shook her hair free from it. “You are so beautiful. Maybe I wanted a few minutes alone with you here.”
“Oh my god! This is not the way we came. You totally got us lost!” a woman shouted, walking past them before Scully could reply. She smiled at him as he glanced at the woman. “How could you do this?”
“It’s a maze, Margot,” the man following her shot back. “It’s meant to be confusing.”
“To a simpleton maybe,” she shouted over her shoulder.
“Oh, that’s really nice,” he shouted back as they disappeared from view.
Mulder turned his attention back to Scully, shaking his head and closing his eyes briefly.
“Well, that’s-”
“Come on! I’ll beat you!” a little girl yelled, giggling as she ran past them. “You’re so slow!”
“Mom said not to run. I can’t keep up with you! Wait, Ari!” another little girl called. She was younger than the other girl and she sighed as she paused for a second and then started to run. “Wait for me!”
“Hurry up slowpoke!”
“What were you saying about a moment alone?” Scully asked and he laughed as he bent his head to kiss her quickly before putting her hat back on.
At sunset, they boarded the Ferris wheel, the stuffed prizes they won sitting on Mulder’s right side. Scully laid her head on his shoulder as they began to rise slowly, stopping to let others board.
“It was a good day,” she said softly and he hummed in reply. He placed his hand on her thigh, drawing patterns upon it, his touch causing her to shiver.
“Cold?” he asked and she shook her head.
“No,” she whispered and he chuckled softly, his fingers slowing. She closed her eyes and focused on the patterns he drew, attempting to see if she could decipher them.
“I’m glad we came out today. We needed this,” he said, the chair rocking slightly as they stopped once again.
“Hmm,” she hummed, taking her hat off and placing it beside her before combing her fingers through her hair. “We did.”
“Thank you.”
“For what?” she asked, raising her head to look at him.
“Being here, putting up with me.” He shrugged and she smiled.
“I wouldn’t be anywhere else.”
They stared at one another and the sadness of the cost for their seclusion, which always lived so close to the surface, nearly broke free.
But then the ride began to move in earnest and it startled her.
“Whoa,” she said, laughing as she clasped the bar in front of them.
The sunset was breathtaking from the top of the Ferris wheel and they both sighed as they stared at it.
“Beautiful,” she whispered and he hummed, his fingers tracing on her thigh again.
She watched as he made a line of hearts, stopping mid thigh and going back towards her knee. Her stomach quivered at the image it conjured up of his tongue in that exact same spot only a few days ago.
What that man could do with his tongue…
He traced a heart line again, slower this time, and then it changed. Letters now, and she closed her eyes, paying close attention.
I.. L.. O.. V.. E .. Y.. O.. U
Another heart and an exclamation mark were added and she smiled.
On the inside of his arm, she used her nails to trace the same letters adding the number two, a heart, and two exclamation marks.
He chuckled and kissed the top of her head as they rose to the crest of the Ferris wheel, her eyes opening to watch the setting sun as his fingers began tracing slowly once again.

sometimes friends fall out for the right reasons pt2 - rowan laslow
Tumblr media
Summary: After a quick love confession both of your lives begin to crash down. Until you both realize being together will always fix everything. Well almost everything.
Word count: 971
It's been a couple days since your fight with Rowan.
You've spent the last two days at school completely ignoring him. You couldn’t bear to see him. Your eyes were constantly puffy. Hair a mess. You barely even spoke. Everyone around you knew something was wrong but they had no idea what happened.
What you didn't know was that Rowan was going through the same thing.
Rowan’s pov - 3 days ago
As I rush down the steps of the Nightshade library, I can hear my mother's voice ringing through my head. I have to get to the bottom of whatever the hell this Wednesday girl is going to do. I'm going to be the one to save this school.
I quickly rip out the page I've been desperately searching for.
I'm already forming my plan as I exit the library, carefully planning my next move.
I look up to sky, noticing the stars. Fuck.
I know I was supposed to me y/n but I was finally putting together the missing pieces of the puzzle. Right now, this is the most important thing. This school needs a hero and it's me.
-
I wake up to find Xavier already gone. Thank God. I can't stand to be around anyone right now and I need to figure out when I'm going to kill Wednesday. A couple hours go by, and I start to realize how difficult this is going to be. But who said being a hero was easy.
I feel like I'm going crazy. My powers are out of control, and I can't even control my emotions. All I can think about are my mother's words.
I hear a knock at the door and quickly hide the papers scattered across the floor.
I open the door to see y/n. She angrily pushes past me asking why I didn't meet up with her. No one can know what I'm doing so I use the same excuse.
I stand there silently as my best friend yells at me. I seriously can't take this shit right now. I have so many other things to worry about and this isn't one of them.
Something in me finally snaps and I start yelling back.
"Jesus Christ, I don't need this right now y/n!! You have no fucking idea what I've been going through. I'm SO sorry I missed our stupid little date, but I have actual shit I need to get done. And I don't need you following me around like a lost puppy. Just leave me the hell alone" I yell.
The next she says changes everything.
"And to think I was in love with you" she sighs scoffs.
I feel my whole body weaken at that simple sentence. I feel my eyes soften. I have waited for this moment for so long.
That's when my mother's words replay in my head. I can't.
I snap back. I back her into the wall just to feel close to her one last time.
"Forget about your stupid little crush and get out of my room. I don't need you"
She rushes out of my room. I throw myself against my bed. "It had to be done" I think.
Present day
I am going to kill Wednesday the night of the festival.
It's taken the past couple of days to figure out but I'm ready.
I've noticed how horrible y/n looks. A part of me feels terrible but I know it was the right thing to do. I had to cut off ties with her at some point. The love confession was sort of a setback. But I don't need this right now. She hates me, which is perfect. Now she won't get hurt. I can only protect her in that way.
y/n pov
The rest of the week was shit. It went the same as previous days, crying and ignoring Rowan. It's Friday night and I'm spending it in bed watching sad romcoms.
I was just about to fall asleep when I hear a frantic knocking at my door.
I open it to see an even more disheveled Rowan. Before I can say anything, he walks through the door, pacing around my room. He's hyperventilating with tears in his eyes.
"Rowan what the hell is wrong with you?!?" You questioned with concern.
"I'm going crazy" he says stopping in front of you.
"What do you mean Row?" you say confused.
"My mom. And the book. and the school. and Wednesday." He says pulling at his hair.
"Row please just calm down for a second" you say resting your two hands on his cheeks.
You stare into his eyes while his breathing slows down.
He looks like he's having a battle inside his head. Thinking of what to say or do next.
"I'm in love with you" he confesses.
You stand there in shock, still holding his face in your hands. "What?" you question.
He stays silent, moving his hands to cup your own.
"But-but at your dorm you told me to get out and. and you. you said all those-"
You were quickly cutoff by Rowan smashing his lips against yours. Every ounce of emotion was put into this one kiss. Years of secretly longing for each other. You both began to smile into the kiss.
"I've loved you for a long time" Rowan says, resting his forehead against yours.
"Me too" you whisper.
"I'm sorry I said all those things. I don't know what's been going on with me. But I know whenever when I'm with you, my troubles don't seem so significant. Will you go the festival with me tomorrow?" he questions.
"Of course" you respond with a soft smile.
And there you two were. Two teenagers in love. Hands cupping each other. Foreheads gently resting against each other.
You don't know what tomorrow has in store... but you can only hope for the best.
A/N spoiler!! tomorrow has absolutely NOT the best in store.

Imagine Going To A Haunted House With Obi
Tumblr media
Obi Akitaru X FemReader
Rating: T+
Warnings: Haunted house goodies galore filled with splatter filled dreams, suggestive themes
Word Count: 1.7k
(A/N:) Here it is folks my yearly Halloween Obi fic! This just became my own little tradition and I'm not gonna lie I look forward to it every year! I just adore this man! 💜 I can't lie either I enjoyed writing the haunted house part, because I am a sick and twisted person. I'm not sorry. I hope to get some more Halloween goodies posted throughout this month so keep your eyes peeled as I continue to work whenever I can. Until next time happy reading! ~Countess
Halloween was always you and Obi's special night. Date nights were always planned for October 31st and this year you both decided to miss out on the Fire Force's annual Halloween Party and have some much needed alone time. Things had been crazy around the 8th and it was beginning to finally slow when the fateful day finally came around. This year you both had written several different ideas down on strips of paper and placed them in Obi's helmet. You both were to pick one strip of paper apiece and those activities would be done on the date. Obi picked enjoying the downtown Halloween festival and your slip had you both a little nervous as it said 'visit a haunted house.' You both asked Shinra and the crew what house would be the best to visit and every single one of them picked the scariest one that existed in Tokyo. Now you both couldn't back down from the challenge as your crew would think you two cowards. You looked at Obi nervously but he just shrugged his shoulders.
Halloween came around quickly and with the team occupied with celebrating their night in their own fashion, you and Obi were free to enjoy yourselves. The day was chilly, a crisp breeze flowing through the streets. The giggles of children and parents keeping a close eye filled the busier neighborhoods. Obi took your hand giving it a gentle squeeze.
"I'm glad we don't have to go to that horrible party like we did last year," you spoke watching a group of children pass by with a struggling parent lagging behind. Obi chuckled squeezing your hand a little tighter. Being captain was a job he loved but it did have it's downsides.
"It wasn't that bad," he replied causing you to pout. "Okay it was bad."
"Keep doing that Obi and all you'll be getting on this hallowed night is tricks," you teased.
"Don't be stingy now," he purred.
You ducked from Obi's searching lips, escaping from his grip to trot down the sidewalk. Despite his large and muscular body, Obi was fast when he wanted to be. It didn't take long for him to catch up and catch you. Picking you up easily and pulling you into his chest, where all you could do was laugh.
Walking a little further you could smell the festival on the breeze. A mix of warm spiced apple cider, caramel apples, and popcorn tickling your nose. You glanced at Obi before giving his hand a squeeze and dragging him a little faster. Surrounded by various booths of food and games it was a Halloween wonderland that you never wanted to end. All the games that had to do with strength, Obi excelled in them. You felt a little bad for the people running the booth as they lost money to the large Fire Force captain. But once that cute fuzzy prize was placed in your arms, you didn't feel all that bad anymore. Before Obi could continue to clean out all the booths from their prizes, you both were ready for some food from the different stalls. Splitting up Obi wanted to grab the food while you went to a different booth for drinks. You were done first so it was up to you to find a table. You were getting nervous as it seemed like everywhere was took up, until a couple just finished up and left a table close to the entrance. You snagged it quickly, setting the drinks and your prizes down.
Obi found you a little later with a feast in tow. How he carried it all on his own was amazing and the food tasted wonderful. With empty food cartons and cups, the sun began to set. The temperature dropped lower causing you to shiver a little at a nippy breeze.
"Ready to go to the haunted house," Obi asked gathering up the trash.
"No," you answered honestly.
"Me either," he laughed. "But it was in the hat and I'm sure you were the one who wrote it down."
"I couldn't think of anything!"
"Don't worry," he whispered in your ear, "I'll protect you."
The haunted house was about a five minute walk from the festival and you both found that the line inside was even closer due to the amount of people waiting. The haunted house didn't open until later that day and unfortunately you both hadn't planned on a big line starting early. Now you got to stand in line and dread going in more as the echoes of screams pierced the night. Obi squeezed your hand as you flinched at every high pitched blood curdling scream. Despite being in line for almost half and hour it felt like a blink and you both were at the entrance. The outside workers with lights in hand waved you both through and shut the door with a loud boom behind you.
The darkness swallowed you both whole and you could feel Obi shivering. So much for protecting you from the ghouls in the house. You both faced Infernals on a daily basis but a haunted house was already proving to be too much and you both just entered. Taking a deep breath Obi stepped forward first keeping a tight grip on your hand, leading you into the eerily lit dark. The first room you entered was splattered with fake blood and severed limbs on chains dangling from the ceiling. Somebody was strapped to the table in a bloody gown, screaming at the top of their lungs.
"Help me! He's going to kill me help me!"
You jumped squeezing tighter to Obi when a large man leapt out from behind a curtain, chainsaw in hand running towards you and Obi. A scream left your throat and you raced from the room dragging Obi with you. Leaving the chainsaw maniac behind, a hallway was between this room and the next. Dolls sitting on the shelves and the only lights were directed on them. Some dolls' hands were waving, some of their heads were spinning. Majority of them were missing eyes, limbs, and only tufts of hair were left on their heads.
"Come play with us," the dolls giggled.
"Come," their voices were growing lower.
"Play," lower.
"With us," they finished in a voice that sounded like it belonged to a creature from the Underworld. It was that moment a ghoulish looking woman raced from behind a secret wall, screaming as blood drained from her empty sockets. You clung to Obi who also held onto you as you both screamed.
Escaping the hallway you made it into the next room. Jail cells surrounded the walls, rusty and dank. You could swear you could smell something cooking. A warden circled around the room, bloody keys jingling on his duty belt while the judge stood beside an electric chair. Zombie prisoners reached between the decrypted bars trying to grab a hold of you and Obi. One snagged the hem of your shirt and tugged roughly, pulling you down on the floor where rotten teeth reached for your neck. You screamed trying to tug yourself from the creature's grip. Obi was at your side yanking you up from the floor as the judge pulled the lever on the electric chair. The inmate screaming as sparks flew. That was the last straw as you both booked it from the room.
"This is not fun," you panted.
"I know when it's coming but it doesn't make it any less terrifying," Obi agreed keeping a better grip on you.
You both were only halfway through the house and there was several more areas to go through. You and Obi screamed and ran your way through a butcher shop, a devilish pet shop full of evil creatures for adoption, and a haunted abandoned school room, before the last obstacle loomed before you both. The Graveyard. There was the glorious glow of the exit light across the graveyard. Looking up at your brave and handsome captain, you both took the first step forward. That triggered the zombie apocalypse. The undead stepped from their foggy places, groaning and screaming at the sight of prey. A few were still stuck in their graves, reaching for your ankles as you stumbled by. Obi kept you upright, his chest heaving at the exertion and complete terror taking over his body. The movies always made zombies look slow, these were everything but. Rotten teeth glistening in the haunted sickly moonlight. It was beginning to feel like an eternity to that precious glow at the end, like a light at the end of a demented tunnel. You stumbled again and Obi took matters into his own hands. In one smooth motion you were lifted up again and pulled into the air. You had a moment of weightlessness until you landed in Obi's arms. He held you tightly gripping you to his well toned chest as his legs churned faster. He had kept his speed slower so you could keep up better, until he no longer had to worry about you tripping and falling. In seconds you both crossed the finished line. The zombies departed going back to their start positions to wait for the next victims through the door.
Though he carried you through the ending you both were panting hard. You looked up at Obi before starting to laugh. Despite still trying to catch his breath he began to laugh too.
"We survived," you joked.
Obi nodded pulling you in for a deep kiss.
Back at the station your friends were waiting for your return. They hounded you both with questions before Obi held out tickets for each one of them. After the torture they had caused making you go to the scariest thing in Tokyo, there was no way they were going to get away with it. Giving them the tickets and shoving them out the fire station door, Obi led you to your shared bedroom. He closed the door firmly turning the lock as his gaze darkened.
"Am I still getting nothing but tricks this evening," he purred nipping at your neck.
"Well you are my hero of the evening," you hummed, threading your fingers through his hair. "And you carrying me through that graveyard was pretty hot. I think you earned yourself a treat."
Obi chuckled, "Happy Halloween."
"Happy Halloween," you replied pulling him down for a sweet kiss.

While not as celebratory as October (MY B-DAY MONTH!) and not yet as festive as December, November is a month that’s always full of promises to me. It’s the month when I usually swear to myself I'll get everything done, so I can try to relax when it's Christmas time. While my productivity levels aren't as consistent as I'd like them to be, my will to be productive certainly is. I'm definitely a list kind of girl, loving making them just as much as I enjoy reading them in magazines and on archive blogs from the 2010s (classygirlswearpearls and rookie magazine, I’m looking at you guys). So what better way to start the month and try to get myself together than by writing a big ole' list? My November Guideline:
To be inspired
Tumblr media
On TV: Spencer Hastings, Blair Waldorf, Tanner Hall
I may have only watched a season and a half of Pretty Little Liars, but that absolutely doesn't stop me from loving and pinning essentially every single outfit ever worn by Spencer Hastings on television, EVER. I love the way it's simultaneously classic and dated. I've never been one to fear a dated style or outfits that might one day make me sigh and go, "Oh my God, that was so ten years ago for me." I guess that's my way of contributing to history and experimenting with the millions of inspirations I'm constantly bombarded with via social media. I specifically love this aspect of her style, how she wears what she wants, what she loves, but always communicates a deep appreciation for a more traditional way of dressing.
A lot of the same things can be said about Blair. Again, a character from a TV series I haven't watched all the way through (I can't make it past the first few episodes of season 3, sorry!), who was a pillar of preppiness back in the day, and is still wildly beloved, despite having committed a few fashion faux pas in my opinion. The craziness of it all and even the grandma-ness of it all actually fascinate me about Blair's wardrobe. How she constantly projects a vision of who she needs to be. Spencer does the same, obviously, but with Blair, it's almost like she viewed every day of her life, every problem she needed to face, as a new plotline of an old movie that needed to unravel. For each plotline, she reacted as a different heroine would, and each heroine, naturally, expressed herself differently through fashion. I just love these characters she creates for herself, and I feel like I often have the same instinct to curate an outfit like that when getting ready.
Tanner Hall, directed by Diane von Fürstenberg's daughter, Tatiana, is in the same aesthetic line as the previous mentions. The movie is set in a quintessential New England boarding school, where beiges, browns, and muted greens seem to be the only existent colors. The whole wardrobe is gorgeous, designed by DVF, and the holy grail for all those who are obsessed with an old-time preppiness. While the movie's plot may be flawed, its attempt to portray the delicious whimsy and melancholy of a girlhood that tries to expand inside the claustrophobic gates of the school is genuine and comes from what, to me, is a mixture of personal history and folklorized memories. I really like the softness of it all; you can almost smell the crisp apple scent through the screen.
Tumblr media
On the web: 2010s Emma Watson, Silly Lettuce, Eva Meloche
I can't really explain my current fixation on Emma Watson, but I have the feeling it has something to do with the fact I've been looping her Burberry campaigns practically every day. The songs are so reminiscent of a carefree city life, going on long taxi drives in the rain and putting your hands over the steam of your coffee on a cold day in the park with your friend, wet fall leaves on the cement sidewalk. I used to admire Emma Watson a lot when I was younger, and it's nice to rediscover this fondness for her. And let's be honest, she is definitely one of the founders of the gamine community; all I have, I owe to her!
Now, my current admiration for @silly_lettuce on Instagram is totally aesthetic, and I'm not afraid to say it. Gorgeous girl, gorgeous outfits, what's not to love. I could go on and on about her style in general, the silhouettes she wears, the boots, the knee-high socks, but instead, I'll just urge you to check out her page! So timeless, yet so young, fun, fresh, and COOL!!!!
Eva Meloche is a YouTuber I've been watching for as long as I can remember, and not only do I adore the calm energy all of her videos exude, but I also really love her travel stories and spot recommendations in general, which always come in handy. Oh, and, of course, she has impeccable taste. Even though her style is different from mine, I guess I use her content as a way to explore.
To wear
Tumblr media
I think it's totally healthy to have an everlasting lust for new clothes and new products. Maybe it's because the holiday energy is already lingering in the air, or maybe it's because I'm fresh out of a father and daughter trip to Paris, but recently, I've been loving to revisit my old favorites. And by old, I mean back-when-I-was-twelve old, which includes:
Red Valentino patterned A-line dresses
Ok, I know they may be a bit too young, but if you get it, you get it, I guess. With some ballerinas or Mary Jane pumps, a cute overcoat, and a nice pair of sunglasses, you'll look positively '60s. Honestly, any A-line dress works, but RED V makes me remember my trips with my grandparents and going shopping with them.
The Cardi-blazer
So basic, I know, but I cannot stop thinking about the Ba&Sh Gaspard cardigan and Guspard blazer. I just love how it elevates a basic outfit. With a pair of jeans and a trench coat over it, it has infinite potential. I can definitely see myself wearing it to a lunch with friends, for some afternoon shopping, or just for a coffee run. I love the Ba&Sh cardi-blazers, specifically because of how cool they look without ever being an "in-your-face" type of item. The buttons are nice and discreet, and the style is put together but not excessively frumpy.
Flap Brogue
Maybe it's the Miu Miu enthusiast in me, but ever since they released the new collection of shoes with Church's (my dad's fave), I've been loving all outfits that include a pair of brogues. I already had a pair of light brown oxfords (which are my one true love), but I really wanted something in black and thought that a pair of flap brogues would be a nice addition. They're perfect to wear with sheer hosiery, a mini jean skirt, and a cozy black sweater to tie it all together.
Statement sweater
Talking about sweaters... I just have so many cool statement ones living in my brain recently; it's a bit concerning. What's better than wearing a huge sweater that screams "look at me" when going out with friends or having a nice dinner party? I've been specifically lusting over two models: the Kritzia glittery, oversized turtlenecks with animal motifs and the Zadig and Voltaire Alma "rock and roll" red one.
Statement everyday shoes
It's so 2016 to talk about Golden Gooses, but... I just love them. I happened to buy them after quite a bit of time resisting after I found myself with soaked ballerinas after a violent rainstorm, soon-to-be late to my lunch reservation. The Golden Goose store was my knight in shining armor, literally, offering me shelter and shoes. And maybe it was the desperation, maybe it was the pink sparkly star, but all I know was that I left that store in a glittery haze, enamored by the sneakers I'd just impulsively bought. No regrets!

“You look like a mess today.” stated your manager as she eyed you from the front of the car. “Did you even sleep? I told you you needed to rest for today, I don’t want you to be tired in front of anyone there.” You muttered an insult under your breath before looking at the view you had from the window. Your manager was a part right, you did look like a mess, you were tired from last night, having a beginning hangover from the alcohol you consumed. The worst thing is that you couldn’t think of anything else than Austin and the night you had with him. His bright blue eyes, full lips, charming smile, the way his muscles were flexing under your touch, the sound of his raspy voice.
“Y/n, let’s go.” you heard your manager say as she opened the car door for you to get out. “And please, smile.” She annoyingly said before heading to the room where the first film of the day would be screened. You took some time to talk with fans and take pictures with them, loving the contact with the people that made you what you were today. As you turned around you assisted at the crowd being crazy at the arrival of Austin but you understood them, you were also feeling a little bit weak in the knees. Austin was gorgeous as always, his charisma radiated from him, his hair slightly messy and his smile, his perfect smile that was so contagious. He finally met your eyes and flashed you a special smile with a discret (or he thought so) wink. You slightly waved at him, a little bit taken aback, feeling like every eye was on you.
You began to walk off slowly so he could catch you up and he did. He walked just next to you, lowering his head so people couldn’t see him talk to you or understand what he was talking about.
“I’m glad to see you,” he began while trying to hide his smile, “Did you sleep well? I hope you’re not mad that I left without saying goodbye.” He looked discreetly at you.“I’m not mad at you Austin.” You stated, “And I slept very well, late, but well.” Austin laughed
a little bit while slightly shaking his head.
“So…” he started a little unsure as you finally arrived in the hall.
“So?” you softly asked, a little bit amused at his changing of demeanor.
“What do you think about the note I left you?” he eyed you nervously, still trying to fake a confident persona.
“Oh yeah the note,” you chuckled, “Should I dress casual?” Austin almost sighed in relief when he saw that you were okay with his idea.
“Yeah, yeah, of course. Casual is perfect.” You softly smiled before excusing yourself to join your manager.
—--------------
When the end of the day finally arrived, you were slightly exhausted, your body had endured movies, meetings, your manager, some interviews. You were trying to rest in the car, your head against the car window, eyes closed trying to not be nervous about your future date and mostly trying to not bang your head from all your manager’s talking.
Once you finally arrived at your hotel room, you almost ran to your room, it was nine and you only had an hour to get ready before Austin came to take you out. You sprinted to your shower, wanting to refresh yourself after a long day. As you were washing your face, trying to take off all the makeup that was still on your face, you were struggling to not wet your hair, not wanting to ruin your curls and coils before your date. When you finally stepped out of the showder you checked your phone, Austin had messaged you 2 minutes ago to tell you that he will be here in 10 minutes. You had 8 minutes to get ready, and you didn’t feel like you would be able to do it. You privileged the choice of your outfit, going for something casual like he told you. With the short time you still had you decided to restyle slightly your hair before only being able to do a very natural makeup where all your imperfections could be seen, you really hoped the darkness outside will cover everything.
You heard the sound of a car and immediately looked at your phone to see Austin informing you that he was parked below your hotel, waiting for you. You rushed downstairs, hoping no one would question why you were going out or repeat it to your manager.
Once outside, you headed to Austin's car, seeing him in the driver’s seat. You hopped in the passenger’s seat and saw his face lit up.
“I thought you wouldn’t come.” He said while placing a kiss on your hand that made you slightly laugh.
“ I wouldn't miss it for the world.” You simply answered and admired his smile as he began to drive. “So, no driver huh?” You asked with a smirk
“Yeah, I wanted it to be just us.” he said and you looked at him, appreciating his profile in the lights of the city. “You’re incredibly pretty tonight.” He said while looking at you through the rearview mirror, his hand on your thigh.
“Thank you Austin, I didn’t have the time to get ready.” You said while putting your hand on his. He slightly shook his head as he smiled, “You’re perfect in either way.” He told you before parking. “Here we are.” You watched your surroundings and saw that you were a little bit above Cannes, you could see the panorama of the city. “Wow,” You exclaimed while admiring the city but also the man next to you, “It’s beautiful.” You felt like you were talking more about him than the landscapes.
“I’m glad you like it.” He arranged your seats a little bit so the two of you could really be comfortable before opening the windows to enjoy the fresh air of the night.
“Thank you for bringing me some peace between all of that.” You sighed and Austin took your hand in his.
“What do you mean?” he worriedly asked and you caressed the back of his hand with your thumb.
“I don’t know, everything happening is just, so much, too much.” You searched for your words and got lost in Austin’s eyes.
“You mean the festival?” He softly asked and you nodded.
“Yes but also, this life I’m leaving, going from photoshoots to photoshoots, interviews to filming, always being controlled, not being able to do whatever I want…” You prevented your tears from flowing and he listened to you before sweetly stroking your cheek.
“I understand how difficult it can be Y/n, but sometimes I wish we could do this job without all the restrictions that come with it.” He understandably told you.
“I’m so afraid, Austin.” You said with a sad look in your eyes.
“Afraid?” you nodded before explaining yourself.
“It all feels so ephemeral, what if some day it all stops like it started.” He nodded while listening to you.
“You’re so talented, you have many qualities, you’re mesmerizing, beautiful, you always have the right word, you’re sweet and funny. Why would it end?” He genuinely asked and you sadly laughed.
“What are you afraid of?” You questioned him and heard him hum while thinking.
“I think I’m afraid of not deserving everything I have. I always have this huge imposter syndrome and it’s eating me up.” He explained to you, searching for every word to express his feelings and you agreed with him.
“It feels good to have someone who understands me.” You told him and he nodded. “I wish for us to be happy.”
“I’m happy when I’m with you.” He whispered and you looked at him, seeing his warm smile.
It didn’t take long for you to crash your lips onto his, kissing him slowly to show him the affection you had for him. Your lips were moving against each other so perfectly. Your tongue quickly found his, playing with it before you sucked and bit his bottom lips, hearing his whimpers.
When you finally decided to end the kiss, Austin was looking at you like, his pupils completely blown out, and you felt like you were drowning in his gaze. You quickly jumped on top of him, your arms around his neck while your eyes traveled from his to his lips now glossy and red from the kiss you shared. Austin smirked before kissing your neck, loving the way you were reacting to his touch. His hands were now under your shirt, softly caressing the skin of your waist and your fingers entangled in his hair, slightly pulling at it. As he kept kissing you you could feel under you his bulge getting harder. You needed to please him. You began to grind on him, the movement making the both of you feel good as you could feel his teeth biting you harder with each of your movements. You lifted his chin with your fingers making you look at you. You felt like you could come from the view you had in front of your eyes. Austin looked up at you, waiting eagerly for any word to do exactly what you wanted him to do, his swollen lips almost in a pout because you just had stopped him in his action of pleasing you and the slight way he was bucking his hips to try to earn more friction.
“You’re the mesmerizing one.” You said before going back to your seat, seeing his lost puppy eyes. However, his look quickly changed when he saw you unbuttoning his pants, lowering them before palming his bulge through his underwear.
“Already so hard for me huh?” you cockily asked him, earning a chuckle.
“Can you blame me? Look at you.” He simply answered and you felt a little bit flustered. You finally lowered his underwear to see his hard cock. Austin looked at you, waiting for any of your movements that could relieve him. You took his cock in your hand, listening to the breathy moan he let out, spreading the precum on his tip with your thumb and feeling him move slightly under you. Austin was very sensitive and you learned it in only one night with him.
Your tongue traced a little circle around his tips, making his mutter insanities. Your hand was on the base, stroking him slowly, your mouth now enveloping his tip as he prevented the sounds from coming out of his mouth. You slowly sucked him, stopping him from moving by putting one of your hands on his thigh.
“Y/n, please, faster.” Austin almost begged and you stopped your movements to remind him that you were the one having the power in this.
“You really have to get quiet if you want me to please you.” You told him and Austin nodded, his cheeks red from pleasure and excitation.
You started once more to please him, faster this time, tasting him and bobbing your head up and down, making his dick throb in your mouth. Austin was trying to stay in place and keep quiet. You looked up and the view was too much for you. Austin was completly fucked up, his eyes rolling and shutting, his bottom lip trapped in his teeth. Your hand on his cock finally found your own underwear, playing with your clit, moaning softly.
“Y/n stop, I’m gonna-” you abruptly stopped, hearing a sigh from Austin before he relaxed his muscles and caught his breath. “You’re so good.” he smiled and caressed your cheek sweetly.
“I need you in me,” you whispered to him, “fuck me Austin.” Your look was too much for Austin and his lips immediately crashed onto yours, in a rough and horny way. You hopped on top of him once more, your wet panties rubbing on Austin’s dick, making him grunt in your mouth and his nails scratching your waist. One of his hands traveled to your panties, pushing it to the side before rubbing his tip against your clit, making you sigh in pleasure. You ended the kiss, your hands entangled in his hair.
“You’re so wet,” his voice was shaky from the excitement, “you’re ready right?” you nodded and Autin kissed you wildly while he got inside you, deeply, stretching you so good. You opened your mouth to moan, making the kiss sloppier and dirtier.
Austin guided your hips to make you move, touching every part inside you that made you go crazy. Your moans were resonating in the car and you were glad Austin brought you to a place where nowhere went at this time. Austin’s hips were moving at the same time as you to hit even deeper in you. His teeth grazed your neck while letting out deep groans at the feeling of you around him. “You’re still so tight, you were made for me.” He spoke for himself, the two of you too lost in pleasure to understand what you were saying. Your movements became faster and faster, trying to fit him in even deeper, wanting to feel him in your belly. “I wish I could fill you up baby, I want you to be completely full of me.” He breathed in your ear and the idea made you drool.
“Austin, come in me, please, fill me up.” You didn’t know what got into you at this moment but Austin was making you crazy, you wanted to be his, you wanted him to be yours.
“You’re begging me? You’re a fucking cum slut y/n.” He breathly said with a cocky smirk as he placed his thumb on your clit to lead you to your orgasm. It was all too much, you could feel his dick so deep inside you, the feeling of him playing with your clit, his breath and teeth tickling your neck and his moans and dirty talking. The hot feeling in your stomach grew from second to second. You quickly grabbed Austin cheeks, kissing him roughly as you came, your pussy throbbing around him, making him moan in your mouth as you screamed your pleasure in his. He bit your bottom lip as you felt his hot cum in your cunt as his hips were thrusting harder in you. Your pussy was milking him and he couldn’t help the moans he let out and the way our name was rolling off his tongue.
Once all the tension came down you tried to get back to your seat but Austin kept you in place, caressing your waist. “Thank you for being here.” He sweetly said while kissing all of your face, making you laugh.
“Thank YOU, you make me happy too, you know.” You kissed his cheek and jaw as he found some tissues in his car to clean you before getting you and him dressed.
“Should we plan another date or..?” He asked and you found adorable the way he was always nervous before asking you that.
“Obviously, what about a restaurant next time?” You smiled at him and he hit his lips to hide his smile.
“Sounds good to me.” he answered before taking the way back to your hotel.
—---------------
You managed to sneak the both of you in your hotel room. Austin laughed as he laid on the bed before taking you in his arms, kissing softly your head and playing with your hair. It would normally piss you off but Austin was so kind in his movements that you let him. You finally fell asleep against Austin’s chest, loving the movements and sounds of his breath and the smell of his cologne. Neither of you wanted to talk about the future and what will happen to your little relationship once the Festival will end and that you will have to go back to your everyday life, far from each other.

English is my second language, please don't hate my terrible writing... I just write it as it comes to my head:)
Been dreaming a while about this storyline and I just wanted to write it down as something for me to smile about. Please excuse how bad it is :))
ACTRESS X AUSTIN BUTLER STORY
Background: You were a world famous young actress who had been in major hit tv shows and films. You started out as a child actress in Harry Potter where you had a young romance with actor Tom Felton at the time. Also having dated One direction star Harry styles in your teenage years, having a fling with your co star Henry cavil in the TV series the tudors, Mamma Mia, Burlesque and Other shows such as The Witcher, stranger things (where you had previously just split before filming top gun with Dacre Montgomery, after your 3 year relationship Dacre decided he wanted to focus on himself and you both felt you were better as friends) he neglected your relationship and didn't put you first. This was where you had a fling after with co star glen Powell, but both decided you were better as friends. You were at the peak of your career, everyone wanted you, everyone wanted to be you and around you. With such a busy schedule ahead of you, with so many things lined up. You'd just finished filming top gun maverick and had daisy jones and the six to finish filming. The premiere in Cannes for top gun came with so many new exciting opportunities for you, with a certain Mr Butler having a say in who would be his Priscilla Presley in the new Film Elvis.
Your POV:
It was the night of the Top gun Premiere in Cannes, you were getting ready with your team in the hotel you were staying at, the gorgeous Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic. This wasn't your first time in Cannes, you had been here for a few film premiers before, but you could still never get used to it, even after all your success, at such a young age bearing in mind. Being surrounded by all the stars you had looked up to for years and working with them, like Tom cruise, cmon.. such a pinch me moment. It's such a surreal moment sat there on the makeup chair looking out onto the French rivera, having your makeup done, having all these people around you tailoring your new designer dress that had just been made and flown in by Ellie Saab. A gorgeous Pearl flowing dress with a subtle smokey eye makeup to bring out the colour of your eyes with Hollywood curls in your hair, slightly tucked behind your ears.
(your gown for Cannes)
Tumblr media
Your agent Natalie came in to round you and your co stars up, you were staying in the next room to your co star and recent fling Glenn Powell since your split with Dacre. The two of you had one crazy and weird night, you and glenn had become close during filming and one cast night out got way out of hand and ended up with you two sleeping together, for you both in the morning to just laugh about it and to this day are the best of friends. You clutched onto your dress following your agent out and headed towards the film festival.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These events were always nerve wracking, in your head you just tried your best not to fall over, your agent edging you along the red carpet with your co stars, lining you up infant of the paparazzi ready to take single and cast photos. Tonight was a big night for you, you were going to perform the hit song from the movie tonight, Hold my hand, not only and actress anymore, you started divulging into more musical things now with your career which essential you trained in all three, singing, acting and dancing. A triple threat some will say. Before the event your agent started guiding you to some interviewers before the main event of the premiere and performance. You smiled widely as you greeted the interviewers, they asked the general questions of the movie and the cast you were working with, these questions always ended up with the odd personal question thrown in there also.
"so Y/N, we know you have to hurry along but the news of you and dacre, obviously very sad but do you think he will be happy for you tonight and what are you plans going forward from this, is there anyone tonight you are hoping to meet and network with?"
"umm" you began, giggling slightly to make it less awkward, "you know life happens, me and dacre are still very much friends, id know he'd definitely be supporting me and vice versa on his journey. some things aren't meant to be but that's okay, we are all adults here and you know I'm excited for what's next for me, I've got a lot coming my way and you never know, something may come out of tonight. I just want to enjoy tonight, meet some new people and yeah I hear the royal family are here tonight so that will be a cool thing, like I've never met a royal so.."
"thank you for that, really appreciate your time and massive congratulations and good look with your performance tonight, we look forward to it" the interviewer smiled.
"Thank you so much, I will need it aha" you say being guided away into the film hall.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The performance came and went, you had a standing ovation from the crowd, this was a massive thing for you. All these people in the crowd were actors and actresses you looked up to and for them to be giving you a standing ovation was something else. You had had your congratulations from your co stars and a few famous faces, it was later after your performance that you were being guided to your table where a tall figure was standing, a male it looked like from where you were walking, blonde hair shining in the lights above him. You stopped as Natalie found your seat and this male figure stumbled back a little onto your toe, you had kind of numbed out the pain as you'd been in heels all day, his hands were cupped as if he had just been clapping or praying, he stood in awe of you as you approached. A small smile came from the corner of his mouth as he met your gaze.
Tumblr media
"my god I'm so sorry, I didn't step on you did I?"
You looked at him smiling, you could tell he was a little shy, he had confidence in his eyes but a shy soul underneath.
"Its ok honestly, I was looking for an excuse to take these heels off really, so thanks for that" you winked, the blonde smiled back at you, his eyes tracing your face so intently.
" glad I could be of service, please here let me get your seat, I am really sorry though" he laughed as he pulled out your seat
"such a gentlemen".. you said as you slowly sat down on the pulled out chair, still keeping his gaze, " but seriously its fine, don't stress, I can see you wincing a little" you joked with him, trying to ease his shyness, you recognised his face, this was Austin butler, you'd watched a few shows with him in when you were younger, carried diaries and rumours had it it was going to be the new Elvis.
"that transparent am I"
"just a little" you winked as you gestured with your hands the little minute sign with your fingers, he then sat down to face you on the opposite chair.
"Austin right? you questioned "I'm..." you were interrupted
"Y/N, yeah I know", he laughed nervously "you were phenomenal up there you know and your movie, I mean you were incredible"
"thank you, that means so much to me like you wouldn't believe, I was shaking up there" you held out your hands to show him your shaking fingers, the adrenaline from the performance still.
"I'm surprised you even knew my name just then to be honest" sounding surprised
"of course, you are the new Elvis right? that's very exciting" you said placing your hand to tap his knee "and I've seen your face around, just never actually got round to saying hi"
smiling at your hand placement he responded "Yeah I am ah, very exciting, just hope to do him some justice you know"
"oh love I'm sure you will, you are great you know or just do a me and just pretend you know what you are doing and everyone will just think that guys got their shit together" you laughed, trying to give him a little confidence boost. shrugging his shoulder with yours.
"thank you y/n , I think I might just have to do that aha"
"I'm sure you will smash it" your agent gesturing that it was time for you to leave, "well looks like I'm being ushered out of here Mr Butler, but it was so nice meeting you and I absolutely can't wait for this to be the other way round and I'm congratulating you as I am sure I will be"
Tumblr media
Austin's POV:
Y/N performance blew him away, he had always been a huge fan of yours and he'd come across you at so many events but had never had the guts to say anything to you, You was in a relationship with Dacre as well at all these events, so he never had the chance and now that you were single he'd found the perfect opportunity. Later that night after meeting you, you were all that was on Austins mind, he had phoned his agent later that night as he knew you'd have to be his Priscilla in Elvis, so many actresses had come and gone but no one he could get that chemistry with. He had to find a way to reach you.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You'd first met Austin during Cannes in 2022 when you had been a part of the Top gun maverick cast, you were half way filming Daisy ones and the six at this point. You had your first day off in a long Time, you just sat down when you opened your phone to 4 missed calls from your agent and a text to call her asap.
"Nat, 4 missed calls, who died?"
"I thought you did with the amount of times I've rang you, I've just had a strange call from another agent and they said an Austin Butler and Baz luhrmann has been trying to reach you?"
"Baz Lurhmann?? and Austin Butler as in the new Elvis Austin..??"
"yeah, so they want you to be the new Priscilla, apparently this Austin guy told Baz and he wants to start shooting with you straight away"
"no on screen chemistry read or audition?"
"nope none at all, this Austin guy really wants you to play her so, guess that's that"
Baz frisking lurhmann wants you to be in his new film, ELVIS. Austin butler requested you to be Priscilla, why?? .... you were so confused but so excited about it, your schedule was about to get a whole lot busier and your life so much more exciting.

Sonic Youth - Little John's Farm, Reading, England, August 23, 1991
1991! Punk, it broke! Here, we've got Sonic Youth near the top of the bill at the Reading Festival ... a lineup that earned a lifetime's worth of bragging rights for attendees — mainly because they would've caught Nirvana right on the precipice, the bleeding edge! In just a few months, Cobain and co. would be well on their way to becoming the world's biggest band. Surprise!
And certainly, their afternoon set at Reading is very exciting. Bear witness to: a field full of headbangers hearing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" for the first time; Tony the Interpretive Dancer getting down like a clown; the Vaselines' Eugene Kelly popping up for a "Molly's Lips" duet; Kurt hurling himself into the drum kit like a madman, only to emerge seconds later waving to the crowd with a big goofy grin. Really, Nirvana just seem like an incredibly fun band here. The, er, doom and gloom was somewhere in the future, unknown and nameless.
Whatever, nevermind! We're not here to talk about Nirvana. We're here to talk about Sonic Youth, who had already had an eventful year. For one thing, they'd run the gauntlet across the States with Neil Young & Crazy Horse on the eardrum-shattering Weld tour. On those dates, they might not have been quite arena-ready. But at Little John's Farm, they sound perfectly at home in a larger setting, blasting off and digging in, offering up a rollicking and righteous set for our listening enjoyment (you can watch it, too).
The Goo stuff is kinetic and razor-sharp — I especially like the intense "Tunic," with the controls set for the heart of the abyss. "Eric's Trip" is a total rager, Ranaldo hanging on for dear life as Shelley goes nuts. We even get a few Dirty previews. This is a band operating at a very high level! The #SonicSummer rolls on!
Dudes, I can't find a tape of Iggy's evening-closing show ... but you can listen to Dino Jr from earlier in the day. That's pretty good, right?

The first day of dances left Lucy exhausted.
She didn’t join in, but keenly observed the steps; the connection between others while enjoying the festive atmosphere that stayed strong into the night. The high energy was a treat, but it drained her, leaving her body to pass out the moment her head hit the furs of her bed that night and the ones that followed after.
The revelation that Natsu knew how to dance despite his constant denial claiming ‘Fire Dancing’ to be a different thing, alongside solving the mystery behind his aversion to her filled Lucy’s mind until the scenes repeated each time her eyes closed.  After his opening dance, he’d joined her in the crowd for a break and the following, awkward silence nearly took precedence over the courting dance. It was the first of the week with many to come. Cana explained that some couples waited for the final day, while others shared a dance each night. It wasn’t as much of a spectacle as Lucy had been led to believe. The music was nice- light and airy following the heavy rhythms of the fire dance before it, moderate in speed and those who danced followed no set steps. Not a single person danced the same as the other -though a few couples attempted to match with varying results. It was fun and exhilarating to observe. But Lucy firmly watched from the side, clutching her cane too tight and twisting her fingers in her skirt, denying  the want to join in. She realized it wasn’t the courting dance she yearned for, but to join any of them … the thought called to her. A sweet temptation that she stubbornly ignored. She could imagine herself roped into a dance by one of her friends, slow and clumsy, but following along to the beat, messing up the steps on the shifting sands, laughing along with the others. But Insecurity held her back while she glared ruefully at her throbbing leg. She’d ignored it to hug Natsu that first day; paying no mind to the fatigue settling in her bones or her draining stamina, but once it was over and they stood side by side, the soreness crept through her nerves like a burning illness. The returning walk home was a blur, save for the occasional, hesitant hand, steadying her.  Deep sleep was a commodity, with no strange dreams following suit for once.
Natsu had come to meet her each morning after that, a smile brimming wide as he slung an arm over her shoulder. Lucy limped out the door with far less energy than the man before her. She was sore from the previous days, unused to the constant walking on sand for the festivities, but the heat of his arm around her was as relaxing as it was jarring. As if her leaping hug from the fire dance had broken down an invisible wall. The Draconis had reverted back to usual antics. His attention drew to the garlands on her door, eyeing each one curiously. Mirajane’s garland was left behind, resting atop the table, but Natsu’s gaze was drawn upward. “Ready to get into some dances today?” Natsu's attention returned to Lucy, ushering her down the road that was already full of people milling about. He exuded excitement as though it were part of his very magic. “Ooh, maybe you can do the Maypole with the kids? That’s a slower one. Just gotta watch your head with the ribbons since they're shorter than ya’. Ooor, there’s also a couple of others before my fire dance that ain't too crazy-”
He’d become talkative since the first day and Lucy, unfortunately, zoned out through most of it, focusing on the tension in her muscles and the way each step sent a shock up her spine. She considered sleeping in, allowing her body time to adjust, but inevitably decided against it. Lucy didn’t wish to miss a second of the Festival. A need deep inside her heart begged to experience every fleeting moment. Even if she had to begrudgingly watch rather than join. “I mean, you could even do the dumb courting dance thing if you really wanted- “ Natsu was still talking, dragging Lucy back to reality with a lurch in her throat at the thought of participating in that one. Scrunching her nose, she gazed at him through her cringe.
“I know I’ve been here for a full season,” She began, wondering where his mind was going to assume she’d join in that dance out of all of them, “but I don’t think I know anyone well enough to consider courting.”
Natsu’s honest surprise took Lucy off-guard. As if he’d never considered the length of time being a factor in anything.  “Eh? So? I’ve seen some do it before ever knowing a person properly. They spent the rest of the year getting to know each other.”
“And what about the following year?” She pressed, eyebrow raised, “Did they dance again?” “... some of them did.” He hedged, looking confused. “You looked like you wanted to join in yesterday, is all.” “I thought the dance looked fun, that doesn’t mean I want to be courted!” She snapped, ignoring the way her cheeks flushed. The dance was enjoyable to watch, from what she remembered. While none of the couples followed a particular style and each dance was different from the next, Lucy recalled the flushed expressions on each couples face: the sheer thrill of being together with an intended partner. Clearing her throat, she peered at Natsu, curious.  “What of you then? Do you want to dance with someone?”
He recoiled from her, eyes wide at the thought. “Eh? No way!” He looked horrified. “I find that sorta thing weird. Why announce it like that when you can just tell it to someone straight?”
Lucy couldn’t bring herself to respond, mystified. Shrugging, he took her silence in stride and pulled her back to the gaming stalls. He was adamant they enjoy the side games to make up for their previous argument. Lucy assured him that it wasn’t necessary, but he remained unconvinced, having already made up his mind.
After three rounds of target shooting, he tugged her off to eat, gifting her a pastry covered in sweet powder while he inhaled one of his own and more. Then they were off again, finding more games for Lucy to attempt. There were so many, Lucy could hardly keep track of them, but with each new source of entertainment, the more she forgot her fatigue.
Natsu was onto something when he mentioned joining the children’s dance. The steps were simple, something Lucy felt she could do with minimal effort and take a break in between. When they stopped to watch a few, she considered it, but her feet stayed firmly planted in the ground, still as a statue. She watched Natsu join with bursts of flame, causing the children to shriek in delight but even his own form of ‘dance’ was reserved, held back from its usual heat and passion. If fire wasn’t the main attraction, he wasn’t interested.
When he said as much, Lucy bit back a giggle, hiding her amused grin behind slim fingers. Natsu mirrored her with his own and all tension from the previous days was long forgotten. It was hard to believe any was there in the first place.
For one, fleeting moment, Lucy spied Erza and Freed over his shoulder and through the crowd, snapping at each other, expressions grim from exhaustion as they strolled back to the old walls surrounding them. It was a curious thing that made her wonder, but before she could bring it to Natsu’s attention, Gray and Cana burst through the throng to drag her and Natsu back to one of the many gaming stalls they’d enjoyed earlier.
Apparently, Lucy noted, everyone was a whirlwind of energy when they wanted to be and Gray made his intentions clear when they made it to the target-shooting stall. Lucy realized she and Natsu hadn’t returned to it since the first day, flushing at the memory. “Bet I can hit more bullseyes than you, Natsu.” Gray challenged, deftly spinning a slingshot between his fingers with ease. He ignored the way Natsu bristled in response. Cana clucked her tongue, arms swung over his and Lucy’s shoulders, a knowing smirk resting on her lips. “And I’m betting they’ll both hit the exact same amount, then bicker about it for the rest of the day like a pair of dumb kids. So we’re gonna find out. If I’m right, Gray owes me booze.”
“How can I owe you anything? We don’t charge money here.” “I get your portion, duh.”
Gray snorted, but gave no reply. The challenge was on and Lucy could hardly get a word in while the two Roma’s moved into position while Natsu gathered up his own slingshot. Lucy grew too absorbed in the competition to think of much else after that, forgetting the curious, grim expressions of Erza and Freed from before.
-
Near the entrance of the old prison, Freed heaved for breath. He sucked in oxygen as though he were drowning and cleared his throat. The effort to do so almost sent him into a coughing fit, burning at his already raw throat. He'd rushed through the village crowds with a wildness unbefitting of him in order to find one red headed Romni. It took more from him than he anticipated. Green hair cascaded down his shoulders in a matted mess and stuck to his sweaty, heated skin, resembling a bird’s nest. With the sweat dripping down his brows , his fingers shook to wipe it.
They didn’t shake from whatever ailed him, no -
-But at the mere thought that he was possibly failing. And putting them all in danger.
“What is this about Freed?” Erza asked, voice controlled by a thin layer of concern. Excited was an understatement for her newest high score at her third game of the afternoon, but being tugged away from the festivities put a damper on that. If not for Freed’s inability to parse full sentences together in his haste, she may have ignored his unusual insistence she join him by the cells.
She crossed her arms, looking him over, “If I recall, you were supposed to be on watch today, while I got the day off. What seems to be the issue?”
“I couldn’t find Laxus,” He rasped, voice dragging and falling off as he sucked in more air. Every second it took to breathe pained him and he clenched the fabric of his shirt in earnest. “I know he was supposed to be watching the outskirts, but-”
She raised a hand, urging him to catch his breath once more. “So I was closer: understood. Catch your breath and then get to the point. Quickly please.”
For him to be this frantic… Erza’s expression darkened as she looked back towards the entry doors further up the path. “Our prisoner. He's not-?”
The enchanter shook his head and slipped slowly to the ground, seating himself before his own legs could give out. "He is still inside, rest assured, but- .. something is …” A pause as he clenched his eyes shut as dizziness nearly overtook him, body visibly twitching, “My magic,  it’s…”
She moved to join him, a worried hand braced his back as she examined his pallid cheeks. He looked worse for wear, so much so that the thought of festivities no longer pulled her interest. His sunken cheeks and wheezing lungs filled her with concern; Her fears rose the longer she stared into his near manic eyes, waiting for a response he struggled to give. “Freed?”
“It’s gone.” He choked, hurriedly sucking in another breath. He gripped her wrist tightly with trembling fingers turned near white. “I don’t know how long my barrier has left, but I can’t watch him, not anymore. I’m-... I’m sorry!”
Erza felt her stomach lurch, as if being punched,  eyes widened as she moved to ease him against the outer wall. Once secured, she brushed the hair from his eyes and glanced around hurriedly, hoping by some chance for a sign of anyone nearby. Cursing when she saw none, she made a quick decision.
Someone had to watch the cell. The command she gave made Freed stiffen in place, tired eyes filling with shock and despair. “Stay here. I’ll handle it. Once you’re able to move or if someone comes by, find a way to get Makarov or Laxus.”  When he nodded his assent, she rushed to the fort’s doors, swinging them open with enough force to make the hinges screech. She spared one last glance at the sickly man. “Freed. Don’t push yourself until you’re certain you can move. Losing magic is fatal. Do not overdo it. That's an order."
She didn’t spare the time to see him agree, dashing through the stone halls, she rushed to make it to the cells. If his barrier failed before she got there…
‘What damage could he do once he could access his magic?’ She didn’t want to find out.

Something was off.
Like buzzing in the back of her head. A quiet warning,  but no direction could be discerned. Lucy felt it ooze over her thoughts, hooking tiny tendrils of doubt and uncertainty in the back of her mind only to stubbornly be cast aside.
Everywhere around her, faces were smiling. Laughter and music weaved in the air, one barely recognized from the other as the people enjoyed themselves, raucous, loud and free. The next courting dances were to start soon while Natsu and Gray's loud competition threatened to overtake the crowd, having tied in their competition, just as predicted. The day was too perfect, too entertaining, a stark difference from the tension that burned the edges of the first day. Lucy was determined to keep it that way.
Looking upon Natsu and Gray deciding to break their tie with another game, she sighed, wistful. She’d seen it before during her travels with the caravan, but now set it to stone.
The two Roma’s reminded her almost of brothers, constantly bickering, always attempting to one-up the other, but there was no true hate between them. No heat to the fire. Nothing tangible. It was the same everywhere she looked. This place, the villagers and nomads included, they were family. It was a comfort Lucy felt herself sinking into with each new moment added to her memories.
At some point Cana disappeared into the crowd, no doubt on the hunt for more drinks and to spread mischief. She muttered a quiet, “See you at the dances,” before she went. Now it was just herself, giggling as she observed the antics of two boys refusing to admit defeat, resorting to elbowing each other grouchily, hardly paying Cana any mind when she left. Lucy assumed their rivalry would continue well into the night, but was stunned when both paused at the tell-tale changes in music around them.
With the lighting of the torches and quiet, steady beat of the drums, Lucy recognized it just as they did. The next dances were about to begin.
Gray stiffened, ears going pink through the fringe of his dark hair as he glanced awkwardly between Natsu and Lucy, raising his eyebrows expectantly. When neither moved, watching Gray in bemusement, he grumbled, clearly frustrated at the lack of whatever reaction he was looking for. “So? You two just gonna stand there? You're gonna be late if you don’t hurry it up.” He mumbled, eyes glancing in every direction that didn’t meet their own. Lucy froze in place, blinking at him owlishly, uncertain how to respond while Natsu choked on whatever other challenge he was about to shout. Gray continued, jerking a thumb towards the beach where a few pairs were already breaking off from the crowd and making their way. “We can settle our score later, Natsu, don’t you two have a dance to get to? You don’t wanna skip out more than two days in a row do you? Shouldn't let stuff like this wait.”
A beat of silence passed between them. Then another.
Then the realization. “Oi! that’s not -” Natsu began, voice turning to steam in his mouth.
Heart rose in her throat and threatened to overtake her entire face. Lucy stammered, abashed. “I’m not dancing! Especially not for that!” Why did everyone assume she was ready to court? She hadn’t even been there a year!
Gray started, slack-jawed and ready to catch flies. The disbelief on his face quickly shifted to mild annoyance, pinching the bridge of his nose with a groan as he listened to their denials, their words tumbling over one another. Lucy wasn't sure which of them was more embarrassed. Gray threw up his hands, cutting them off. “For the love of- I thought with the whole matching get ups that you- … You're joking right? I knew Natsu was oblivious, but I didn’t think it was contagious. You know what? Whatever, I’m out of here. Before it spreads. I owe Cana her drinks anyway.”
The two continued to protest, but Gray waved them off and kept his stride, hand lowering as the crowd swallowed him.
Lucy covered her face, turning her attention to Natsu, eyes peeking through her fingers. Similarly, he couldn’t look her in the eyes. The beginning of the dances thrummed the rhythm of drums through the ground and the crowd dispersed, slowly thinning as onlookers moved to witness the birth of brimming, young couples. Or the death of some, she vaguely recalled, thinking of Cana. Lucy was rooted in place, uncertainty freezing her as Natsu played with the ends of the red scarf on his head, avoiding her gaze. “So.. uh- “ He drawled, reaching for any source of distraction, “You’re not going to do.. Any dance…..at all?” At the sight of Lucy’s expression turning dark, Natsu backpedaled, “Not the courting one! Just, any of ‘em? Lisanna taught you the basic ones, right? Really not gonna try a few out?”
If Lucy had, at any moment, appreciated Natsu’s ability to cut through an awkward moment and change the subject, it was then. She clutched his questions like a lifeline. Lucy cleared her throat and motioned towards her leg, standing strong, but still braced by the cane in her grasp. Gnawing her bottom lip, she considered the situation and cursed her inability to heal at a normal pace.
“She did teach me a few,” Lucy admitted, recalling their first meeting and Natsu witnessing the end of the practice session that followed after. She enjoyed that memory. Loved every moment Lisanna had taught her the movements with unending patience and enthusiasm.
For the first time in almost a year, Lucy had felt her body move, free from the dull thud of her chained magic and memories of pain chased away with each fumbling step that she had taken. However, that fun night didn’t lead to any form of mastery, and self-doubt riddled her words as she continued, “but I can’t claim I remember them all.”
“Who says you gotta remember 'em all?” Natsu snorted, head tilting off towards the Maypole, silhouetted by the stars and torches in the distance. “Only dancers like Lisanna are perfect at them, y’know. You don’t gotta be like that.”
Lucy’s flush burned anew, “I know, it’s just.. ,” she reached for words that refused to surface and frowned deeply, “Well my leg is already sore and I just…” Push through, Lucy, you can say it! “I don’t want to….get in anyone's way?”
Whatever Lucy was expecting, Natsu wincing like her words struck him was not it. Instantly his countenance changed. A spark of yellow flashed through his eyes and his body grew tense, as if holding back an unknown reflex. Growling low, frustration welled inside and he reached to grasp Lucy by the shoulder, gaze burning with an intensity that left her confused and breathless.
“Uhh- “ Was her intelligent response. Her eyes glanced between his serious expression and the calloused fingers that gripped her, “Is something wrong-”
“There is,” He paused and Lucy realized he was considering his words beforehand. A sign he was to be taken seriously, she’d learned. His grip tightened slightly, regaining her attention as he decided his phrasing, “why do you have to be so weird and think you could ever get in the way? Everyone just wants you to enjoy yourself. Even if that means resting up that leg and clapping along on the side if that's the best you can do. No one's watching to see you mess up”
"Oh…" She exhaled a soft breath, stunned. A surge of emotion pricked her eyes and she sniffled, nodding silently as the barest hint of a relieved smile curled along her lips. “That’s- .. I think I needed to hear that- “
Natsu however wasn’t finished. His hand slid along her arm to grip her fingers, warmth passing through him to warm the chilled digits. Foregoing an explanation he gently tugged her through the crowd, leading her off through the stalls and away from the beach. Away from… the beach?
“Natsu-?”
“If you’re not confident enough to dance with everyone yet,” Natsu said, gaze fixed on the tree line beyond the village, “Then maybe this’ll help.”
She wanted to demand answers, to dig her feet into the ground and see just what was going through his mind in that moment, but the warning still sung in the back of her mind and the stars above sparkled brightly in earnest.
They shone above as tiny whispers spoke within her heart and soul, urging her to follow and his hand, far gentler than she was used to, continued to lead her through the easiest path, never jarring her leg for a second. Natsu was careful. So careful. Curiosity won and Lucy allowed herself to be tugged away, far from the music and dances, far from the gazes of the villagers who watched her and Natsu’s every move. A quiet want for a tiny, small adventure led her on and the stars above urged her to continue.
She trusted him after all and could find no other reason to deny him at this moment.
Further and further from the village, Natsu led her up the inclines nearest the woods, veering off the path that would've taken them to Porlyusica to forge his own way, pushing past the curling thicket and thin branches with confidence.
Determined and steadfast, he knew exactly where he wanted to go and Lucy went along with a little stumble each time the pace grew too much for her. Natsu always paused then, uttering a sheepish apology before urging her to follow yet again. It reminded her of their first venture through the woods. After that dreadful landslide and before her magic illness had taken complete hold.
He’d led her through the thickets with ease then, stamping down the grass to help her follow along. This time however, impatience overruled logic and after a few more stumbles, he swooped in to lift her, arm holding her legs and skirts together as he moved, a snicker escaped at her surprised squeak. Lucy’s yelp echoed through the brambles as a few birds took flight, startled out of their sleep. “Was that necessary?”
“Do you mind?” He asked belatedly, but Lucy bit down the sass, recognizing his intention that belied the outcome. She shook her head and sighed, fingers clutching her cane as she wrapped an arm around his shoulders. It was a familiar comfort, one her aching leg relished upon as the sudden freedom allowed her stiff muscles to relax.
“I’ll hold off from lecturing.” She decided after a few seconds, eyes looking to the darkened skies above. Glittering stars peeked through the leaves that littered above their heads, lighting the way alongside the strange orange glow of the moon. Her eyes narrowed, something tugging at the back of her mind. She hadn't noticed that before. “Only because you’re in such an obvious hurry.” She murmured, distracted.
Natsu’s responding smirk was all the answer she needed. Smugly, he tightened his hold and sped up, ignoring the grains of sand that drifted from their clothes and how the echoes of music slowly began to fade the further they went along. Soon, the glow of the festival was far behind them. The night sky illuminated the path before them, if it could even be called that. and Lucy squinted to keep track of it. Just where was he going?
When she asked, he chuckled, unbothered by the low light. “You’ll see.” He simply said. The grin he flashed her brought a strange heat to Lucy’s chest. She rolled her eyes, recognizing his need to uphold the mystery.
“I think everyone but me knew you could dance,” She accused, eyes narrowing sharply. “So what’s all this secrecy about?”
“They don’t know I can dance. I made sure of that.” Natsu argued, fingers heating lightly to warm her now that the night air began to bring its early spring chill. “You saw the fire dance, right? I goof up all the others.” After a pause, he added, “Keep that between us, yeah?” “You-.” Lucy began, mouth agape, “You do it on purpose?  Even Lisanna thinks you have two left feet! If she found out-”
“That’s why I asked ya’ to keep it between us!” Natsu whined, voice revealing his sudden pout. “It’s easier to avoid stuff when people think you suck at it.”
Lucy opened her mouth to argue, more than prepared with the memory of Gray’s earlier assumption in her mind, but his implications caught in her throat and she realized his idea had less to do with dancing and everything to do with… with… realizing Gray’s obvious thoughts towards their relationship.
Lucy bit her lip, hiding her face in the crook of Natsu’s neck to avoid his observant gaze.  “And yet you did a perfect Fire Dance. Are you sure everyone isn’t just pretending for your benefit?”
“They’re not the same thing!” The retort was a repeat of his words the day before and he jostled her playfully.  Her answering giggle went ignored and she tweaked his ear in response. With a yelp, their discussion continued.
Back and forth they bickered until the shrubs and twigs gave way to an open clearing surrounded by trees that towered into the sky. Lucy wiped stray leaves from her and Natsu’s hair before drinking in the scene before her.
The stars have never been clearer, shining proudly with no wisp of cloud in sight to bar them.  The corners of the sky almost seemed to glow with the distant red hues of the bonfires down below, but everything was paled by the moon. Risen in position far above their heads and an ever darkening red orange, it loomed above them, encircling the clearing in a warm gentle light that painted the tips of each strand of grass. Lucy could hear the crickets start their chirping and an owl made itself known through the darkened trees. It was clear, in that moment- and in the way Natsu slowed his steps, carefully setting her down with a gentle hand on her shoulder- that this had been his target all along.
The clearing was far removed from the coastal village and Lucy wondered how Natsu had come across it. When she asked, voice heavy with awe,  he gave her a noncommittal shrug.
He intended to keep his secrets for now, leaving Lucy in the dark.
“If I’m gonna dance where no one can see me, where else would I go?” His rhetorical question hung between them while his fingers trailed down her shoulder to grasp her wrist instead, urging her to follow his lead once again. Uncertainty almost slowed her pace, but she’d gone this far with him and continued onward, her cane barely brushing against the ground before she was urged to step forward again and again. The grass had yet to grow to its full height, brushing along the hem of her skirts as they shuffled to the center.
It felt as though Lucy had stepped into a new world with him, the village pushed to the recesses of her mind. But the steady thumping of the drums echoed with a gentle beat, barely reaching her ears, but enough to ground her to reality.
“We’re so far from everything.” She pointed out, foot tapping against the ground. “ If we're supposed to dance, how can we without music?”
"Can't you hear the drums? That not enough for you?"
"Hardly." She complained, "I have to strain if I want to follow along."
“ Well I can hear 'em just fine. But that doesn't matter. Don't need it either way.” Natsu stated, turning to face her as he swiped the cane faster than she could blink.
“Hey-!” Lucy’s surprised shout cut off when he tossed it to the side, the soft thud echoing its location. “What are you doing? I NEED that!”
That teasing grin was back. “No you don’t.”
Lucy fixed him with a stare, unamused.
He repeated himself, mischief filtering through his every word. “You don’t need it. I’m here.”
“That doesn’t make sense!” Lucy argued, “How are you supposed to teach me confidence I don’t have if I can’t even hold myself up to do it?”
He didn’t answer her. Not with words.
Natsu stepped into her space and Lucy thought for a moment he was about to scoop her into his arms again. Instead, he braced her elbows, pulling her to him until the tips of her feet touch his own, leaving hardly any space between them. He was close.
Too close. She thought.
Far too close.
Her eyes were level with his chin and neck. Turning shy, Lucy tilted her gaze downward, unable to meet Natsu’s, only to immediately regret the decision as his broad chest came directly into view instead. He still hadn’t put his undershirt back on since yesterday's dances. Coughing, she frantically looked further down at their feet, focusing on the straps on their sandals, the blades of grass, anything but the sudden change that had her heart threatening to climb up her throat. All while struggling to question his intentions. The trees felt restrictive, threatening to close in on her and swallow her in darkness.
“Uh, wait, Natsu. I- I can't. I don’t-”
He interrupted with her name, voice as low as a whisper, dark eyes intently staring at her own when she finally met his gaze. “Breathe. Just say the word and I’ll back down.”
Lucy’s mouth became dry and the pieces of her world and their current predicament shifted away from her like sand.
“I-” She was confused, not uncomfortable, but it felt embarrassing to say. Everything felt too much. too embarrassing. Her emotions ballooned out of control as she struggled to make sense of them. Her fingers turned white from the pressure she dug into his arms, bracing herself as he held her up. Her toes wriggled, brushing against the edge of his sandals and with another tug, she came to a mystified realization.
The pressure on her leg, it was gone. The soreness of her knee, barely a memory. Natsu’s arms not only braced her, but held her up, keeping the weight off her legs as she considered him. Despite the tension in her arms, he was keeping her still, safe.
She- she was safe. She swallowed a deep breath, feeling the cloud of fear ebb away. Her stomach flipped and her grip relaxed.
Lucy said nothing. She didn’t have to. And Natsu’s understanding smile was warm, unguarded and another piece of Lucy’s worries dropped away. “All right. Move your feet then.”
Lucy’s nose scrunched, her confusion renewed.  “Move them where exactly?”
“Onto mine, duh.” Natsu huffed, almost irritated that she wasn’t getting the point yet. “How else am I gonna teach you?”
“You can’t be serious.”
He grinned, “Oh I definitely am.”
She had no answer. No sound escaped as she stared, stupefied. He wanted her to... “That’s been your idea this entire time?”
“Well, yeah,” He raised a brow, head tilting as if he didn’t once consider how ridiculous the whole notion was. “It’ll be easier on your legs right? And you can feel each movement with your body. Muscle memory is great and you won't be too sore tomorrow as a bonus!”
She almost said no. It was silly. Too silly. Why drag her out here, with the stars as their only witness, so far from the festival just to have her dance on his toes like a small child? Is that how he saw her? A child?
Lucy couldn’t deny the ease on her knee, and his careful consideration of her pain argued with her offended feelings. He was trying his best. For her. Despite how nervous his proximity made her, Lucy couldn’t voice her annoyance. Not now. Not when he looked so excited to share this with her.
She grasped his shoulder, and shuffled carefully to stand atop his feet. Her other hand moved to grasp his awaiting one, squeezing their digits together.
It was just one dance. What could it hurt?
“Okay. Fine.” Lucy agreed, feeling his warmth spread through her entire nervous system, “Teach me.”
And he did.
It was an awkward and clumsy start. Lucy’s concerns were fair. Not only was Natsu’s sandals hard to grip, her own movements caused the two to stumble more than once as he began to move her to a silent beat. There were also a few moments where somehow he almost stepped on her feet.
The pace began too fast and she slipped, almost sending them crashing to the ground, but Natsu chortled and pulled her back without hesitation. It was all part of learning, he claimed, keeping her situated against him.  A few more false starts and stumbles that left Lucy’s head throbbing as she smacked into his chin and the two fell into a fit of giggles, over-taking all other sounds in the area.
“This,” Lucy started, gasping for air as her giggles began to disperse, “Is ridiculous!”
“No,” Natsu argued, finally taking a much slower pace for her to keep up with, hands holding her securely as they moved side to side, twirling as they went, “It’s fun!”
As their little dance continued, Lucy began to realize that maybe, just maybe, Natsu was also learning. He met her halfway at each juncture, reeling in just a little more the longer it went on.
When his moments of speed left her dizzy he adjusted at each complaint that she issued. Natsu’s grin was a permanent fixture on his face, crinkling at the corners of his bright eyes while his fingers moved to warm her back. He held her with a gentleness that contradicted his very nature while through the laughter, missteps and almost disasters, she had to accept one simple fact:
It was fun. All of it.
The air was crisp and clear. The stars gleamed brightly above them and at some point, Lucy felt as if nothing else mattered. Her pain. Her grief. Each jolt of giggles and stumbles filled a yawning hole in her heart she had desperately tried to ignore for months. Natsu’s eyes glowed with the light of his inner fire, keeping his focus firmly on her. Their steps fell in line, slow and comfortable, sliding about the clearing. The moment was theirs and theirs alone, under the watchful gaze of the glowing moon that shone upon them, its cool light unreaching as Lucy tasted a touch of heat to the air.
Embers danced in the air around them, they slipped from Natsu's skin and thickened to curling strands that wrapped her in warmth and ignited the ground beneath their shared steps.
“ - Natsu…?” Lucy questioned softly, but he didn’t answer.
The tingle of magic now brushed from his palm to hers, the twisting coils raced atop her skin. His fire flowed from him unrestrained, warm and licking at the edges of her dress. Lucy realized - baffled- that she felt no pain, smelled no ash. There was no scalding heat.
The flames were there and yet the world acted as if it were not. The magic Natsu sent through his fingers jolted through her own, firing up her body with each rhythmic pulse. It sent signals to every limb, pulling at her soul. Distantly, she recalled a time months ago, when she exclaimed her surprise at his control and he claimed, offended, ‘My fire doesn’t work like that!’ She experienced it now, the control he masterfully held, keeping his heat from endangering her and the world around them.
His magic. She could feel it as it called to her.
She almost slipped at the startling revelation, but Natsu was prepared, arms quickly shifting to accommodate her, eyes reflecting the orange moon above. She saw herself in those eyes and her breath caught in her throat. He pulled her flush against him, leaning close enough for his lips to brush against the edge of her ear, voice a heated whisper.
“You think way too much.” He coaxed, a chuckle escaped with his words. “Now's not the time to think, Lucy. It's just us here and no one's watching ya'. Don’t fight it. Just go with the feeling.”
His words struck her at her core, loosening the lock on the part of her that was forcibly tied down.  Like a dam had burst, the tingle of magic that flared across her skin was no longer the choking sickness that threatened to strike her down.
No longer was it just the heat of his own fire, tempting her to release whatever barriers that had been placed upon her. In the seconds that spanned in that brief eternity, her magic answered the call, washing over her in a blinding flash, almost drowning out Natsu's before balancing out. A brilliant, soft glow mixed with the flames and arose around them like their own, personal night sky of twinkling yellows and sparkling orange embers.
“There you go.” His withdrawal left her neck and ears cold, but the heat of their magic replaced it. Natsu slowed their dance, spinning them before coming to a near stop. Breathing in, he rested his forehead against her own. “That's better, right?”
Lucy couldn’t answer with words. Tears welled up in her shining eyes that spilled down her cheeks in a cascade of bittersweet joy while her fingers clung tightly to his arms, trembling with emotion.
How long had it been since she felt the pull of her magic without pain? Since it sang under her skin like an old friend that didn’t promise fever or seared through her like venom? Its waves rocked and pulled at her from within, suspending her mind in a fog of comfort.
How could she say anything when these emotions overflowed?
Whatever feelings that muted her, Natsu only grinned in response. Words weren’t needed. Not for this. And Lucy had never felt more grateful than in that moment.
Slowly, their dance began anew, the clearing now bathed in the light of their shared magic, and Lucy felt the whispers of the stars pricking against her senses. She never realized the pressure that built against her until it dropped and she had to marvel at the way Natsu helped bring it out of her.
How did he know? She mumbled the question, unwilling to part during that perfect moment and giggled when Natsu’s answering reply tickled the edge of her ear.
“Just doing what felt right I guess.”  It was such a Natsu type answer, Lucy accepted it immediately. She couldn’t hear the drums, nor the faint laughter of the festival down below, but she reveled in that fact, the privacy was a comfort that she needed. Lucy followed Natsu’s lead as she focused on the thrum of magic inside her, hanging onto that familiar glimpse of light for dear life Lucy..
… We’re so glad… We can help you now…
It had been weeks, no, months, since Lucy last heard the strange voices that echoed in her soul. No longer did she feel the slicing headache that came with it, nor the same confusion that struck her the first time. The voices entwined together, a formation of many and matched the sparkling of the stars above them. For the first time since her Clan was lost, Lucy recognized them for what they were. The very stars. They recognized her birthright and finally, she could hear them.
Lucy stepped off Natsu’s feet, enthralled. Golden tendrils of light circled her knee to keep her steady and she glanced towards the very friends she’d never known she had lost, who'd watched over her in her darkest moments . She took her first steady steps in almost a year. “I can hear them.” She whispered in awe, wiping the tears that stained her cheeks. “The stars are with us, Natsu.” She didn’t hear the Draconis' response as he let her slide from his fingers; he stood back to witness her spin on her own two feet, his smile a permanent fixture splitting across his face. How long the magic would hold her up, neither could tell, but it didn’t matter. Not when Lucy glowed with a smile so bright he thought it would steal away his very breath. He hadn’t realized how sad her previous smiles had been, but this one cracked through the barrier of her grief and revealed a Lucy he’d never seen before. She shined.
The wind picked up with Lucy’s dance, rustling the leaves and grass around them as clouds rolled in, slightly covering the reddened moon high above them.
Natsu felt a chill run up his spine, one that was ignored in favor of Lucy’s brightness. Her laugh illuminated her entire countenance, enjoying the moment of freedom she finally possessed and he refused to let anything interrupt the experience. But something wanted him to notice. And with another heavy gust of wind, he heard the same voices he had heard just moments before the ground beneath him had swallowed him and Lucy up. The trees… Look…  to the …
“Lucy,” Natsu started, noticing her expression drop, recognition shining in her eyes, “Do you hear that-”
HE’S HERE
The wind died instantly. A choking stillness that threaded itself in the air made the blanket of clouds slow to a crawl, filling the empty sky with shadow.
The red of the moon still bled through illuminating the oily black darkness that sliced through the trees, drowning the remnants of Natsu’s fire, stifling the light from a startled Lucy. She crashed to the ground, the magic holding her fizzled out from the shock as Natsu bolted to her position, instinctively grasping her shoulders to pull her from danger. The shadows swallowed everything like a wave, pulling itself through the grasses and reared up like a beast, thinning to dagger like points that it bared at them, desperate for blood. A familiar voice, one that raised the hairs on Natsu’s neck in warning, broke through the trees in a gleeful cackle. “I found you!”
The manic tone of Kage’s voice sent alarm bells through Natsu, reacting just in time to cover Lucy as the shadows engulfed them, the sharp, dark edges cutting through the fabric of his clothes to leave glancing scratches beading with blood. Lucy shrieked, hands pushing against him in a futile attempt to shove him from the onslaught.
“Natsu- “ She wheezed beneath him, “it’s me! It’s me he wants!” The wild declaration was too fast, too sudden. He knew she was right, and it cemented his body in place and his resolve, “He wants me alive Natsu, move!”
There was no response. Not in words. Just the budding of scales along his arms and face as anger suffused his body in dark flames.
The shadows that struck him clashed and burned and finally, his gaze met the desperate ones of their former prisoner, free and jumping through the bushes, his hands raised as he directed his shadows to his quarry. “What makes you so sure?” He asked, a tendril of his shades came bursting through the grass to strike once more. In horror, Natsu realized the wave of shadows came to circle upon them. His intent was clear. He was trying to take them both together. Rolling to the side, Natsu pulled Lucy over him, arms heaving as he moved on instinct. He still remembered the words spoken to him so long ago. Their instructions were clear and ringing in his ears.
‘Don’t let her burn out…’
“Start running and don’t look back.” He ordered, shoving her with all his might towards the cane forgotten in the grass, his fanged grin was wicked in the low light, sharp and feral as more scales grew and hardened against his skin. Natsu met her terrified eyes with a now steady yellowed gaze, broken by thin slit pupils. The shadows swarmed to overtake him, “I’ve got this.”
Lucy’s scream pierced through the sky as sharp blades sliced once more, wrapping his body in a cloud of darkness leaving shallow cuts on his arms thrown up in defense.
But he moved too slow. Lucy couldn't miss the heavy burst of red that flew from the gash on his neck, painting the air and the tips of the triumphant blade that had found its mark. His angry roar was silenced.
Immense heat burst from his body, blazing through the shadows and circling the clearing. He felt the blood flowing freely on his clothes drenching the fabric in sticky warmth but that wasn’t enough to stop him.  Wetness coated the back of his throat, a metallic tang on his tongue made him curl his lips in a feral snarl.
A swirling cocoon of fire and darkness enshrouded him from view and he could no longer hear Lucy, but Kage’s laughter embroiled him. ‘... Draconis.’
If the stars knew what he was, who was he to deny them?
