New chapter is out!

The bookshop was quiet, just how Crowley liked it. He was lounging in Aziraphale’s desk chair, trying to determine what needed to be done without having any information at all. There had been a vicious loop of questions playing in his head which he had no answers to, and he was alone. This was not a familiar experience.

“Something will come to me,” he mumbled to himself. He got up and began pacing around the bookshop, glancing at different books, hoping they might provide a clue. They didn’t.

Until they did.

Crowley was sitting on a bench holding a newspaper that he wasn’t actually reading, but more using as a wall to avoid any particularly gregarious humans that might pass by. He needed some solitude and was not getting it in the bookshop. “Only one more day,” he thought to himself. He could handle their human visitor for one more day, could he not?

While the newspaper effectively kept the humans at bay, it was not as effective at keeping the legions of hell from paying him a visit. He sensed a presence before lowering his paper and looking at Shax. He sighed, raising the newspaper back up in a futile attempt to stop any potential conversation.

“Hello Crowley.”

I was at a Palestinian solidarity gig last night & the one Palestinian artist who was going to perform had COVID so the organisers asked around to see if there were any Palestinians who'd like to say a few words instead.

A local guy who was born & raised in Gaza offered to speak. He started with "I'm an engineer. i'm not a poet or a politician. I don't... do public speaking… I had no idea what to say when I came up here. So i'm just going to tell you about the street I grew up on."

And then he did! He went down the street building by building. He told us about the ice cream shop on the corner, the grocery shop, the charity that supports people with intellectual disabilities. He told us about the people who he knew growing up, the families who still live in the different houses. He told us about the university buildings and about his friends who quit being accountants to start a band together. All on that street.

All of which is gone now, by the way. Bombed to dust.
