Cross-country season has started! Fifa!talia is out, FIS!talia is in!

Most of the athletes on the GBR team are Scottish and they all live in Norway most of the year. Norwegians have such a love for them and some of them even speak Norwegian fluently. Two years ago, they lost funding from the UK government and it looked like they would have to quit skiing all-together. Then, rich Norwegians began sponsoring them and now they are training with a private Norwegian team and funded by Norwegians 💖

AU Ask Game: After getting OFA, Midoriya immediatelly gets all the quirks within it as well as he can use the stockpile at 100% without getting hurt. Instead he has to learn how to use the stockpile at less than 100%, which is not helped by him trying to use one quirk and ending up using another one by accident. Something happens that would normally ping Danger Sense and instead causes him to be blasted to the sky with Float

Midoriya obliterates the Zero Point Robot completely, the first time he ever uses One For All. His limbs are undamaged. He feels great! He did the thing! He can get points! Uraraka does still save him from falling though, because she reaches him before he tries using air pressure to catch his fall.

Midoriya is still riding high up until the Quirk Apprehension Test. He does the 50-meter dash easily, so fast that the robot can barely register his speed! But also he completely destroyed the track from his footfalls, and the near-sonic boom wasn't great either. While Midoriya is happy that he's absolutely decimating these tests, every one he does only reinforces that his Quirk is fucking up everything around him, especially because some of the other Quirks are subtly being used without Midoriya noticing, like Float for height or Blackwhip crushing the grip tester.

For Midoriya, One For All is all or nothing. This also means that he has to wait until the last second to activate it or the mere act of walking will destroy the ground and his speed will overshoot. This is a problem in the Battle Trail where he can't leap up into the building because he'll clear it several times over if he tries.

Nobody realizes that Midoriya used Smokescreen at the USJ because they thought it was Kurogiri. After all, no one had any context for Danger Sense at that point. Though everyone noticed him launching the Noumu out of the building in five hits.

Midoriya still avoids using One For All in training in this AU while trying to master it because of the risk that he'll kill his classmates and destroy the entire training site

So I keep thinking about how Shadow Kirby is confirmed in canon to be just as powerful and capable as regular Kirby, so long as he can push past his own reluctance and fears. Then I started thinking about the unique color palette he has for the Fighters games, if that could be a sort of visual indicator of him reaching that full potential. Then I started thinking about who was around to teach him these skills, and the differences in their techniques, and how SD’s treatment of SK might be vastly different from DMK, and how that affects the relationship that DMK & SD might have, and how it all ties in to the sociopolitical climate of the Mirror World as a whole, and oh stars dammit am I making another AU again???

On an unrelated note, screw the Mirror World for giving everyone in it just the most annoying color palettes to shade. Grays on grays on grays and sometimes red but mostly grays. I am languishing in render hell and ready to move on to the next one thank you. Too many headcanons - not enough time or hands or energy.

UPDATE 03/01/24: Changed SK's eyes to purple instead of blue, and changed DMK's cape from gray to dark red.

The moment Vegas enters the hallway — lights dim and far enough from the room he just emerged from that no one would hear him scream — he finds himself stopped by a blade pressed against his neck.

"Impressive. You must be the king's blade. I've heard a lot about you."

The person behind him doesn't move, as still as a pillar.

The king's blade, Kinn's personal assassin. Quiet, ruthless, unknown. A phantom.

Vegas has been expecting him for a while now.

"Give me the poison."

"I don't know what you're–" The dagger presses deeper into his neck, slicing through his skin effortlessly. If his life wasn't being threatened, he could probably appreciate its sharpness.

Only a small setback, Vegas reminds himself as he lets the tiny vial roll into his palm.

"Are you going to kill me?"

"No." The vial is confiscated and the pressure on his neck lets up just enough for the blade to slip out of his broken skin.

"To the king I bow only for now."

"I am not in the business of second warnings, Prince Vegas", the king's blade hisses.

"I will take that undeserving boy's crown", he spits back, bright anger burning through him. "And when I'm high up in that tower, he'll be down there getting stoned."

The blade presses into his neck again; drawing blood this time.

But Vegas is not afraid. He will finish what his father started. Not to carry on his legacy, but because his brother did not deserve his fate.

So Vegas lets out a laugh.

The king's blade can't hurt him. If Kinn wanted him dead, he would be already.

"Slit my throat. Do it. I will not die a coward, grovelling at the king's feet."

"I catch you again, I'll kill you."

"I'm looking forward to it."
