I love you NPCs in Tears of the Kingdom getting surprised when you move stuff close to them I love you Minecraft dogs shaking themselves dry after being drenched in water I love you Sims 2 Sims giggling after calling in sick to work I love you Oshawott throwing its scallop in the air and catching it in its Black and White idle animations I love you Sooza from MSM looking out of breath after playing its part I love you Virtual Villagers doing their laundry once the second hut has been built I love you tiny details in games that aren't necessary to gameplay but give it personality
Was watching random Horizon cutscenes for animation study/breakdown + wanted to see little details that I may have missed. I didn’t realize how cute Aloy was being here, especially from her confused facial expression when Milduf is telling her about getting his own back(love that detail). Another little detail I noticed was when before she asks for food, she’s putting her hands on her belly and slightly rubs it (devs probably did this to imply that she is hungry due to traveling a long way). She also seems like she’s acting a little shy, maybe she’s just used to hunting for her own food all the time and isn’t used to people making meals for her if she asks. Anyways that’s the HFW post of the day! Will make more art soon.
I posted this earlier as a repost to something else but realized reposts don’t show up in tags so I’m doing it again but as it’s own post now cause I’m proud of it so here:
Previous post: “TRIGGER WAS CANONICALLY EITHER PROUD OF HIS SIN LINES OR CONSIDERED THEM A PART OF HIMSELF”
Okay I should explain myself: You, as a player, cannot change your skin/emblem the first playthrough, right? Cause Trigger's emblem is an important part of the story and it's a way for you to see how his allegiance changes over the course of the fight.
Trigger has the three sin lines as soon as he enters the 444th's spare squadron, a literal representation of the sin he has committed in killing the former president Harling, even if he is innocent. We don't know whether Trigger knew he was innocent or not because he's a silent protagonist, but it happened, and now he's got the strikes on his tail.
My point in the previous post? He kept the sin lines after Count and his transfer to Strider squadron, albeit not exactly. His new emblem entering the squadron is literally just a fancy version of his sin lines made to match the dog theme (his actual emblem of the dog and the gun, not sure why I'm explaining this we all know what I mean). Trigger himself created this emblem. Trigger knew what it reflected, and he knew damn well it was just like his sin lines.
Count literally talked about this, when Húxiän asked Trigger what his emblem meant and Count said I don't like them, they remind me of sin lines." Like it's completely obvious to those who understand what Trigger's new emblem stood for. He didn't just accidentally make it like that, it's obvious the three strikes had a deeper meaning to Trigger.
Whether it was the growing popularity of "Three Strikes" (though he was called that very few times before he switched squads and emblems), or if Trigger genuinely considered them a part of himself and his history (which I believe is more “in character" for him) is debatable.
I said earlier that he could have been proud of them, but I'm not sure about that. It could be, in a way, that he knew he was innocent and that the new emblem was a way to get back at those who blamed him, such as the court and/or previous squad mates.
I feel as though Trigger created the new emblem as a way to make the sin lines his own, when so much else was stuck on him with no way for him to dispute the claims. As a person who is mute, Trigger had to chose a different way to show that he was not what they claimed him to be. He was not a murderer. He made the same things that damned him into his saving grace, and because of it "Three Strikes" was regarded as a hero.
I just noticed this on Dutches Board and I just wanna know if it’s been there the hole time? Because that would imply Dutch KNEW and didn’t give me any warning about Jacob and his stupid music box…
"There are those who hate the rain... I don't understand that. It nourishes all plant life, and its sound is soothing to the hearts of all. I am thankful, even for the rain. It is truly a blessing."
As I’ve stated before I love neat environmental details in games. I’ve already talked about the cairns on ARK’s Rangnarok map, but there’s still a few more neat details.
On the server I play on I used to live on an island in the Southwest of the map. It’s basically Ragnarok’s version of Herbivore Island, the main feature of this island is a large Blue Hole in the middle of it. A Blue Hole is basically a marine sinkhole.
For the longest time I thought it was just that a Blue Hole, but then I noticed that all of the big terrain rocks point up and away from the hole. Weird right? Well I for a really long time I didn’t explore the hole since I had no decent water tames, but when I obtained a really good Spino (R.I.P Blackwake) I decided to take to the seas.
I explored the hole and found a large round rock and some metal nodes, and I realized that this is meant to be an impact crater for a meteor!
Cafe 5-to-2 contains different notable pictures. There's a picture of an eyeless woman crying blood above the door to the kitchen, posters of the band Portishead, and a poster of Stephen King holding a shotgun with the caption "Study, dammit!" which he made in college.
