An ARG where it starts out normal, but you slowly learn more about the villian- a well designed character with a hidden past that is so hidden with in the lore, no one can agree truly on what is really the truth about this character. But then, when everything finally starts to fall into place, there’s a glimmer of hope as the fandom peels back the curtain to what this mysterious characters backstory is.
Then it gets retconned to have a far more simplified backstory for new fans to see, completely loosing the mystery element.

^_^u . . . . #indiedev #indiedevs #presentacion #lasnaves #valencia #GODOT #gamingcomunity #gamedev #gameart #gameplay #viodegames #gamedesign #gamelore #gamemarketing #gametesting #gamedevlife #gamedevjourney #indiegamestudio #indiegamecommunity #indiegamejunkie #indiegamemarketing #supportindiegames #gamingindustry #gameindustryjobs https://www.instagram.com/p/CpkvzPBtZao/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Walpurgisnacht cutscene
Dante: "Faust, why is their a delay till we begin the Sea Adventure?" Faust: Points at the Fandom violently burning Dante:"...Yeah okay, that is a fair point" I also love the trend where all the Gameplay shenanigans are literal part of the Gamelore. I fully expect Heathcliff to start complaining of going through Railway over and over to lower the turn amount.
P.S.: This is also the first CG that isn't drawn from Vellmori. I must say, at least from the teaser and this, the art is very good at least.

Demon, Balor Lord, Ndulu
Tumblr media
“Nefarox, Overlord of Grixus” © Wizards of the Coast, by Aleksi Briclot. Accessed at the GameLore Wiki here.
[Commissioned by @tar-baphon, the second of four monsters revolving around Demon Lord Eltab. In the original Forgotten Realms lore, Ndulu was just the most powerful of the rivals to Eltab’s throne, but I wanted to build a little more frisson into their relationship (and explain how the Moaning Crown was broken without going into its thousand year backstory; see the Eltab entry for information on the Moaning Crown). Choosing to give Ndulu a polearm was solely due to this amazing artwork; I was uninspired by the various bits of balor art I could find, and looked slightly further afield.]
Demon, Balor Lord, Ndulu CR 23 CE Outsider (extraplanar) This mighty demonic figure is wreathed in flames and crowned with horns. It carries a massive polearm with a hooked blade.
Ndulu the Ghost Eater is a balor lord of great power and greater ambition. He is both servant to and enemy of Eltab, Lord of the Hidden Layer, who has coerced his service through layers of magical curses and mundane threats. Ndulu currently acts as a regent, occupying Eltab’s abandoned fortress and fighting other Abyssal powers that seek to rule his territory. Ndulu’s current plans involve finding a way to stop Eltab from making demoncysts and siphoning Abyssal power. If Ndulu succeeds, Eltab will be stripped of power and rank, becoming a nascent demon lord and therefore a much easier target for the Ghost Eater’s physical violence.
Unlike most balors, Ndulu disdains fighting with two weapons at once. He keeps a flaming whip as a back up weapon, but his primary armament is a massive polearm, which he wields with both power and finesse. His tactics involve dominating the battlefield with reach and mobility, and he can and has slain entire armies single-handedly. His epithet comes from his conquest of undead monsters; he can strike incorporeal creatures effortlessly, and can heal his wounds by slaying the living and undead both.
Ndulu’s forces include both powerful combatants such as vavakia and mariliths, and more subtle agents such as glabrezu and succubi. The latter he has sent into the camps of enemy demons and to work among mortals, both leads pursuing a way to cut off the power of the demoncysts. An adventuring party of good aligned characters might find themselves working for the Ghost Eater at several layers of remove, their mentors corrupted by a demon working for Ndulu to clean out demoncysts and sever their connection to the Abyss. Although referring to the creature as an ally may be a stretch, a nightwave nightshade keeps counsel with Ndulu, and elite units of nightwalkers and nightwings have fought for Ndulu’s cause.

The save DC is Constitution-based. Entangle (Ex) If Ndulu strikes a Medium or smaller foe with its whip, he can immediately attempt a grapple check without provoking an attack of opportunity. If Ndulu wins the check, he draws the foe into an adjacent square. The foe gains the grappled condition, but Ndulu does not. Flaming Body (Su) A balor's body is covered in dancing flames. Anyone striking Ndulu with a natural weapon or unarmed strike takes 1d6 points of fire damage. A creature that grapples Ndulu or is grappled by him takes 6d6 points of fire damage each round the grapple persists. Ghostly Grasp (Su) Ndulu’s natural weapons and manufactured weapons deal full damage to incorporeal creatures as if they had the ghost touch weapon property. Lifedrinker (Su) Once per round when Ndulu kills a living or undead opponent, he can heal 150 hit points and remove any status effects as per a heal spell (CL 20th). Shorten Grip (Ex) Ndulu can shorten his grip on a polearm as an immediate action, threatening all squares within 10 feet instead of the polearm’s normal reach until he lengthens his grip with another immediate action. Vorpal Strike (Su) Any slashing weapon Ndulu wields gains the vorpal weapon quality. Weapons retain this quality for one hour after Ndulu releases the weapon, but after this the weapon reverts to its standard magical qualities, if any. Whip Mastery (Ex) Ndulu treats a whip as a light weapon for the purposes of two-weapon fighting, and can inflict lethal damage on a foe regardless of the foe's armor.

I was today years old when I realised this nerolore + gamelore logical conclusion. See, she’s a full Dragon champion, just not Aurene-branded, which means her essence is partially Aurene’s, hence the full and partial champion forms she has. So that means she’s either gonna have a harder time getting branded, for example, or she can’t get full on branded at all?
Now I’m just imagining her pulling a brand crystal out of her leg or something, people being scared she’s gonna get branded and her just going, “i’m dragon-corrupted enough, kralkatorrik doesn’t like playing with used goods” with an rbf and a joking tone.
No wonder people think she’s something else ngl

Dragon Age: Origins - Duncan
Tumblr media
“Duncan was a very dedicated and courageous Grey Warden, who accomplished much throughout his lifetime. Among his accomplishments is his work to shine light upon and fight against the Fifth Blight, and his recruitment and mentor-ship of The Warden and Alistair, among other heroic acts. Of course, everyone’s heard of him, and his heroic deeds, but very few know of his troubled past and how he became a member of wardens.”
“Born in Highever to a Rivaini woman, Tayana, and a Fereldan carpenter, named Arryn, Duncan ended up bouncing back and fourth between Orlais and the Free Marches throughout his childhood. Although it was quite a difficult life, he had no way of knowing that it was no where close to as difficult as what the Maker had in store for him, when both of his parents passed away, leaving him on the streets of Val Royeaux, forced to become a thief in order to survive on his own.”
“Although still very young, Duncan had gotten better at thieving, so he began to steal from more risky areas, such as inns and stores, rather than the pockets of passerby's on the street. On one such occasion he attempted to steal a beautiful ring from a room at the inn, when someone tried to stop him. Duncan was quick, and limber, so he quickly pulled a knife on the man, hoping it would intimidate him into giving in, and let go of the ring. A scuffle ensued, but Duncan had no plans of giving it up anytime soon, the ring would surely sell for a nice price, possibly even enough to feed him for a week. Amidst the struggle and the thoughts racing threw his young, frightened mind, Duncan unintentionally severely injured the man. To the shock and confusion of Duncan, as the man laid dying on the floor, he looked to him and thanked him.”
“The chevaliers who placed Duncan under arrest informed him that the man who he had killed was a Grey Warden, which meant that he was headed for the chopping block. Fortunately for young Duncan, it seems fate had different plans.”
“The night before Duncan's execution a Grey Warden by the name of Genevieve offered him a place in the Wardens, in which he refused. He thought that the Grey Wardens must be terrible a terrible place if the man he has just killed used his dying breath to thank him. Commander Genevieve wouldn’t take no for an answer however, and used the Right of Conscription to force Duncan into joining the order.”
“Duncan later discovered through his fellow wardens that the man he had killed that night was called Guy, and he planned to use the ring he lost his life over to propose to the woman he loved, Genevieve. So many thoughts and questions raced through Duncan's mind. He couldn’t understand why she chose to save his life, even after what he had done. Instead of asking such sensitive questions, he pledged his loyalty to her, probably more so because of the guilt than anything.”
“During a later mission with Genevieve, she confronted Duncan and proclaimed her hatred for him, revealing that the only reason she had forced him into joining was because she wanted him to get a taste of what the Wardens have to deal with, in order to protect scum like him.”
“Duncan went on to do great things; he became an honest, kind, strong man, who made at true impact on the world. I didn’t tell you this story to make you look down upon the fallen hero; I rather wanted to show you that anyone can become a hero, no matter your past or your wealth. Duncan is a man we should all take inspiration from, for he committed some terrible deeds, but he worked everyday of his life to right his wrongs, and become a better person than he once was.”

Alexey’s Diary Part III: Farewell
This page is especially dear to our hearts here at Pechorsk Radius News because it seems to be the last one Alexey had ever written, in this diary or elsewhere --- if he was, indeed, a real person. The authenticity of this page has been a subject of heated debates even between those of us who don’t question the diary itself: it’s not hard to notice that the handwriting on the last page of the journal differs from that on the others. While some take it as a sure proof of a knock-off, others argue that Alexey had to switch his neat writing to a messy cursive due to the lack of time and deteriorating condition of his dominant hand. In any case, here is his last goodbye:

Transcript:
I think this is going to be my last entry
I’m in a bad way
The Sphere its so close now. It almost seems like I can touch it
but I’m hurt bad. weak. bones broken flesh burning
Everything hurts. But I am… used to pain used to dying used to walking with blood running down down down
I am Changed
There’s only a thin line of sand between me and the pit now. I see the row of people standing on the edge of the pit, in the shadow of the Sphere, their backs turned to the chasm, their faces turned to me, watching silently as I die
Only they’re not people not Changed. They are corpses, skin decimated by wind and ash, terrible wounds visible through the tears in their uniforms. They were soldiers, once; but now they are dead
Behind them the pit goes down down down, deep down into the earth, into the black shadow cast by the Sphere
I’m going to leave this journal here, and maybe one day someone will find it
or maybe not
anyway
no time to waist
shame i didn’t get to see the stars
 one last time
time to go look what the dead are hiding
it’s Alexey, goodbye
Yee-haw!
