Gwen McCrae: “Rockin’ Chair” (1975)
One of our WUSB hip-hop shows (possibly Eminent Audio) spun Greg Nice’s “Comin’ Thru’ With The Click” (2000) and, damn, that was hoppin’. Eventually I traced it back to “Rockin’ Chair”, Gwen McCrae’s best-known single. Five years earlier, Blahzay took a piece for his breakout golden-era hit “Danger! (Oh My God)”. Still, nothing like the regal original.

Initial Blog Post
Oct 29, 2022 Updated June 19, 2023
Discover my music: https://www.gregallendancemusic.com Hi! This blog is about Dance Music but also veering off into other genres at times since my tastes are extremely eclectic. I also produce my own electronic dance music since March of 2022 and will promote that here as well as some fellow EDM artists if they are good with that. So, my blog may cover everything from Tommy James and the Shondells to Miley Cyrus to Black Sabbath to Tomita or Klaus Schulze. Paul van Dyk, my first trance music exposure who blew me away.
I started making electronic music using Garageband and a couple Reggae sound packs from Loopmasters as the pandemic had just hit and I was "homebound" in my apartment. You can listen to some of my music here:

By now, I’ve released, over 50 songs in both album form and singles. I was using Distrokid but switched to Repost by SOundcloud and recently to Tunecore with the aim of getting paid more fairly.
Here’s a player with my latest album, which is my 14 best songs, chosen by me named 'Pure Funk, Reggae & Space Music'. This is from Apple Music. Let me know if you can access the music.
Remind me and I’ll tie together Tommy James and Miley Cyrus with Dave Grohl and Joan Jett. Hint: They did an amazing collaboration of Crimson and Clover, originally a big hit for Tommy James and later a big hit for Joan Jett. It’s on YouTube and a lot of fun!!! Thanks!
