Evie comes fully into her powers, terrified of what she’s becoming, what she’s capable of. Crow is beside her, always, of course. He’s there every time she loses control, every time there’s an accident to clean up. He tries to assure her that she’s no monster, he still loves her, he’d do anything for her, he still worships her.
She lashes out. “I could kill you too,” she hisses. “It would be so easy, Princeling.”
And Crow, stars in his eyes, responds, “My love, it would be an honor to die by your hand.”

Guilty - William Afton x Reader
To be a lawyer is to adhere to a strict code of ethics.
A/N: Slight AU, but not really. This is kind of tame compared to other William fics I have planned, but I thought it’d be fun to make Reader more dominant and less innocent than usual! This has a bit of build up, but it pays off ofc ;) You can imagine William to be in his 40s/50s like he is in the movie, or 30s as he would’ve been during his killing spree.

Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza was in a mess. A bunch of children had just gone missing - presumed dead - and there were even rumblings of a lawsuit from the victims’ families. It certainly wasn’t the case an up-and-coming lawyer usually received, but had the potential to be the one that cemented your career.
“I must say, I’m rather surprised you chose me to help you out,” you said to the man who was sitting at the table as you closed the door behind you. Your office was by no means large, but it was sizable enough to make you feel important.
“Why’s that?” He asked, cocking his head, his brows raising above the rims of his glasses. You’d done your pre reading; the man’s name was William Afton, a humble businessman who’d started the pizzeria and had come to you for help. He seemed well meaning enough.
“Well,” you began, adjusting your skirt as you sat down, “I’m not the typical face you’d imagine when picturing a bloodthirsty lawyer. Especially someone like you…”You said carefully. It was no secret that men either overlooked you, or went out of their way to hire you for your ‘assets’. “I find they’re usually set in their ways about having a woman deal with their issues,”
The man shrugged, a small smirk creeping to the side of his face.
“Doesn’t bother me. I have a daughter of my own,”
“Oh,” you smiled, pushing your chair in as you fixed the paperwork around you. “Is she…?”
“She’s a little younger than you,” he said simply. “I make it a mission to practise what I preach at home,”
You smiled, and he smiled back, his skin wrinkling ever so slightly around his eyes and sides of his mouth. He was put together and certainly likeable; only driving you to want to help him out even more. you were quite comfortable, which was good as it was likely that the rest of the office, bar the receptionist and the interns, would file out over time, leaving you alone with him in your assigned wing.
“I suppose we should get started. First — Would you like a cup of coffee?”
/
“…In conclusion, I suggest you speak to this PR rep, he’s excellent,” you said, sliding a card across the table. “For now, our plan is to go ahead with the statement, and hold off on any retaliation,” you continued, making a few notes as you did. “Cooperate with the police, and let me handle things — But, if there’s anything I should know, it’s best you tell me…” you finished, looking up at him from across the table, your eyes meeting his own blue ones.
William smirked. His focus on the task had dwindled in and out over the past hour and a half, having watched the way you explained things with striking confidence, yet bit your pen childishly before writing things down. He couldn’t help but admire a woman with confidence, and it certainly helped that it wasn’t misplaced. You were good at your job. Perhaps too good.
He wondered how you’d ended up here. Young, attractive, yet closed off in a building with stuffy businessmen on a Friday night. You should’ve been at the club; dressed in your sluttiest attire, making out with random guys whilst you split Margaritas on yourself, eventually taking them back home and fucking their brains off. He wondered if you were the dominant or submissive type; if you liked to take charge and ride in cowgirl position, or into the classic missionary, arms above your head as you moan and whimper for more. You might’ve been good at your job, but it was impossible that you hadn’t fucked any of the seniors in the office during your time.
More importantly, he wondered if you’d ever slept with your clients. After all, it wasn’t as if they were in his calibre; likely some shady businessmen who’d moved a few pots of money around, or middle-aged men moaning about real estate - none notable enough to ruin your reputation.
This was much different. Far different.
You didn’t know it, but you were face to face with a killer.
“Such as?” he hummed. Of course he knew what you meant, but he just wanted to hear you say it.
“…Anything that could damage your validity should there be a trial,” you said, sitting back in your seat. “Forged bank documents, hoarding evidence, an admission of guilt…”
“You think I had something to do with it?”
You paused, somewhat taken aback by how abrupt he was. Usually people reacted dramatically to accusations (especially ones as callous as this), and yet he was eerily calm, barely even flinching at the mention. It intrigued you, but more disturbingly it made you horny.
“I never said that,” you shrugged, trying to compose yourself. “But, if you did, it could change this situation entirely. Your wife, your daughter - the public - will look at you very differently,”
William chuckled, his leg beginning to bounce in excitement. The mention of his family was quite the mood killer, and yet you acknowledging them turned him on. They weren’t really any more than tools to look like a convincing family-friendly businessman, and yet you seemingly bought into it. In terms of the public, well, he had a big ego for sure, but his libido was bigger. Throbbing, even.
“And what about you?” He said, leaning in and placing his hands under his chin, grinning at the way you shifted under his gaze. It was time to turn the tables.
“Excuse me?” you choked, an uncomfortable feeling beginning to churn in your stomach. There was something in the way that he smiled at you, like he was getting some kind of satisfaction from making you squirm. Perhaps you’d been wrong about him. Perhaps there was something deeper.
“Will you look at me any differently?” he insisted. You paused for a moment before shaking your head.
“Absolutely not, Mr Afton. It’s my duty to be impartial,”
So prim and proper. It was time to blur the boundaries.
“Tch,” he scoffed before bursting into laughter. “Come on! That’s what they all say. It’s human nature to judge,”
You rolled your eyes, tossing your leg over the other as you began to drum your fingertips on your desk impatiently. This was usually the part where whoever you were talking to stopped to talk down to you. William could tell you were agitated, and he loved the way your brows were beginning to furrow and lips scrunch into a pout. He wondered how they tasted. Much more how they felt.
“It’s also human nature to feel discomfort when running over time,” you snapped, closing your files with haste. “This session is over, Mr Afton,”
So feisty. Repression had clearly done a number on you.
It was a blatant sign for him to move on, and yet he remained firmly in his seat, watching as you got up to put your files away, skirt slightly crumpled around your legs from how long you’d been sitting. You noticed this and pulled it down, turning to face the man yet again and leaning over the table, palms flat as you rested your hands on either side.
You were rather close to him, and if anyone walked in it would seem sketchy. It didn’t help that he was quite handsome; with rugged yet refined features, a slowly greying goatee and bright eyes that were somewhat hidden by his large glasses. The longer that you stared at him, the more you felt weakened under his gaze.
“Can I help you, Mr Afton?”
“You can,” he said, and you raised a brow for him to continue. He felt his cock begin to harden and heart beat as he worked his way up to the moment. Yes, you were a lawyer, but the circumstances meant that you were game to react rather abruptly.
A killer and a lawyer in an empty wing, just after hours - doors shut with no one to hear a scream? It was the perfect scenario for a crime.
“I have something to declare…” he began, and he could barely contain his smile as you raised your brows, mouth slowly falling agape and body subtly recoiling. As if in a trance, you lowered your head further, the eye contact so intense that you could feel a tingle throughout each others’ bodies. You were 90% certain he could hear your heart pounding in your chest.
“…Go on,”
“I think you know what it is,”
With a slow blink, as you tried to ground yourself. You could’ve vomited. In your eyes, murder was a grey area in the realm of self defence, but children were always off limits.
He didn’t even seem to care. He seemed amused, actually.
“O-Okay,” you whispered, swallowing a lump in your throat. “Thank you for telling me. I’ll have to revisit this with fresh eyes in the morning —“
You were so painfully uncomfortable, and yet part of you was aroused. Perhaps it was because you’d never encountered an actual killer, or it was because you were incredibly aware of the blatant fantasy being played out from both sides. He was a wolf; a hunter, bigger and stronger than you and waiting to ravish you like prey.
You were dedicated to holding up the law, fighting for what was fair like a good girl, but sometimes good girls needed to be ravished.
“— What do you think, Miss L/N?” he teased, standing up to match you. “Am I a dead man?”
“No…” you whispered. “I’m going to do what I can…”
“Good,” he smiled, backing away from the desk, the outline of his bulge illuminated from the dimming lights. “That’s why I chose you,”
You gave an awkward nod, haphazardly rushing to hold the door open for him to leave. You held your head down as he passed, and squeezed your eyes shut as you realised he’d stopped in front of you.
Your bodies were painfully close in the tiny doorway. William grinned, and he knew he had you from the moment you looked up at him through your lashes.
“…Are you going to kill me?”
“Not unless you want me to,”
Your lips were on each other in a heartbeat, your hands immediately finding the door and slamming it shut before focusing your attention on the killer at your feet. He wasted no time in effortlessly hoisting you up around his waist, his large hands firm on your hips and thighs as he held you steady, stumbling to find your desk. You returned the favour by holding onto his neck and beginning to grind yourself against his cock, your skirt riding up in the process.
“I bet you’re real happy I walked through those doors, aren’t you?” He teased. “How long have you been waiting for a fucked up guy like me, hmm?” he said, crudely sticking his fingers inside your panties as he placed you on the desk. He grunted at the sensation of your wet heat, hungry as he stuck a third finger inside without warning or hesitation. They were lithe and calloused, and seemed to hit your core immediately upon penetration, causing you to let out a moan.
“I never –” you began, barely unable to form a sentence. “This is nothing —” you insisted, lips leaving his own as you began to fumble with his belt, cupping him through his pants. He was painfully hard. And big. Bigger than most guys your age. “— Just a formality,”
William scoffed, unable to hide his lascivious smile as he began pumping in and out of you, your lips swallowing him to just below his knuckles. Against the creaking of the desk and desperate pants you could hear the wet sound of your juices coating his fingers, sticky and copious as his motions continued; rough yet controlled.
To think, they were the same hands that had murdered all those kids…
You’d taken out his cock now and was massaging the organ in your hands, causing him to hollow out his cheeks, sighing at the contact. It was over five inches, and considerably thick, with a long blue vein running along its underside. As you stroked him, a healthy secretion of precum coated your fingers, indirectly lubing him up further. His thrusts were lazy but needy as he fucked your hand, and with every movement you worked together to guide his cock to your entrance, his bulging tip teasing your folds.
“Fuck,” he whispered, throwing his head back. “You’re ready for me, aren’t you? Naughty girl, you know this goes against your ‘ethics’...” he teased again, and you could barely formulate an answer as his body was now almost completely on top of yours, your back arching as you stabilised yourself with your free hand on the desk.
He chuckled, reaching down to grip the base of his cock as he lined himself at your entrance. For a moment your hands touched, and the excessive hairs and slight wrinkles reminded you of just how much older he was.
“Fuck ethics,” you moaned, and his grin deepened, to the point he was baring teeth. You couldn’t take it anymore, and you were beginning to lose your grip on your panties as you held them to the side.
Next time he should just rip them off.
“William…” you moaned. “Please…”
“Since you asked so nicely,” he laughed, and thrust himself into you, rutting into you like a rabbit. To him the sensation was euphoric, it had been a long time since he’d fucked a fresh pussy, and admittedly his wife was getting rather stale. You were so tight and melded perfectly around him, but most of all you were eager, even if your morals were blatantly backwards.
William’s cock filled you completely, repeatedly hitting the untouched crevices of your cunt that you hadn’t even known existed. He was big, skilled and oh-so painfully perfect - Perfectly bad for you. You could get disbarred, your public reputation ruined, much like the narrative of the man inside you - but with every thrust that drew deeper into your pussy and lustful kiss to your neck and lips none of it seemed to matter. His large hands cupped your sides, moving between your breasts and thighs as he groped and massaged; most importantly making sure that you remained spread wide and available for him as his clothed thighs hit against yours repeatedly. You were high; so high that you barely acknowledged the wedding ring on his left finger, even if you could feel it through the thin material of your blouse.
“You feel so fucking good,” he grunted. “I haven’t fucked a pussy like this in ages. You and I are gonna make such a good team — Ugh — I knew there was a reason I chose you…”
“Fuck…” you groaned. “W-William…”
“Does it bother you that I hurt those kids?” he snarled, beginning to feel his stomach knot up.
You were too lost in your ecstasy to answer.
Did it?
“…Tut, tut. You said you wouldn’t judge me, sweetheart,” he chided. “We were getting along so well…”
“We are. I’m gonna help you,” you said determinedly, eyes unable to shift from his own. You were close.
“I know you are,” he hummed, letting out an intermittent groan as he shut his eyes. “You have no choice. You’re just as guilty as me,”
There was something about those words that immediately sent you over the edge, squeezing your eyes shut and letting out a pornographic moan as you came, your body twinging as the man held your thighs apart, making sure you felt every inch of your shared ecstasy. William had barely found it in him to pull out on time, his heavy load painting a mess on your panties and thighs, but leaving a small trail of cum along the outer lips of your pussy, a subtle but telling reminder of what had happened.
Fixing your crumpled shirt and skirt, you adjusted yourself before hopping off of the desk, hands clasped in front of you.
“So,” you said, clearing your throat. You were surprised it wasn’t sore from your incessant moans. “I’d like to see you at the same time tomorrow. We’ve got a lot of ground to cover.”

[4 Oct] Hirakawa Yuzuki Twitter Space with surprise guest Shiono Akihisa (Kyoryu Green)
excerpt: timestamp 26:02
abridged translation
one of Yuzuki's "Guerrilla Space"
Topics:
LDH colleagues
Relationship among Sentai casts
Shiono's love for King-Ohger
Kyoryuger's return and filming on location vs. green screen
Explosion scenes
Shirtless Men and Costumes
Acting with One Eye
Rita-sama and their Deep Voice
LDH colleagues
Shiono's first time trying twitter space. He was thinking about hosting a CL live, but might as well join in since Yuzuki already started. [CL is LDH's own paid livestreaming app]
Yuzuki: It's like a LDH gathering in Kingoh now. [Yuzuki, Shiono and Amano all belong to the same agency]
Shiono is one of the first people Yuzuki spoke to about having passed the sentai audition. He advised her that it'll be a difficult year and encouraged her to work hard.
They are both surprised Kingoh and Kyoryu are having a crossover.
Yuzuki asked how old Shiono was when he filmed Kyoryuger (18). She was surprised at how young he was. She is turning 22 this year (on 27 Oct) as the youngest member.
King-Ohger cast
Shiono remarked that Kingoh has an older cast. Yuzuki replied that yes, an all-adult cast is rather uncommon in sentai history.
Yuzuki apologised for being "a bit noisy" when Shiono said the cast has a good relationship.
Shiono appreciates their friendship and finds the sentai set nostalgic.
Yuzuki finds the sentai experience unique since you have to spend an entire year together and the cast is bound to become friends, and it feels like there's little time left.
Shiono thought there're still about 20 episodes left, while for Yuzuki, they are already entering the 40s. She agreed that it's starting to feel lonely.
Shiono on King-Ohger
Shiono loves Kingoh's opening sequence. He thinks it's really cool.
Yuzuki: The director was very particular about the opening visuals. The schedule was packed full on the opening filming day.
Shiono: Kingoh feels like an anime production, from the setting to its characters. To an anime fan like me, it is an excellent sentai.
Yuzuki: Kingoh's fantasy world is on a grand scale, I think it may have even surpassed the usual anime. The cast is conscious of it in our performances as well.
Yuzuki: The green screen is always the same, but in reality the virtual asset has already changed between takes. It confused me at first.
Shiono: Actually I was looking forward to visiting the Kingoh world when they first approached me about returning. Turns out you guys are coming over to Kyoryu's world instead.
Kyoryuger's return and filming on location
Shiono: The staff hasn't changed much either. It doesn't feel like 10 years have passed at all.
Shiono's filming only took one day. He only had a little time to greet the staff before his first scene started. It was an action scene and he passed it in one take.
Yuzuki commented it must be exhausting for him to film it all in one day.
Shiono: You guys only started location filming recently right?
Yuzuki: We don't have many outdoor scenes to begin with. The (suit) action team often goes on location, but the kings rarely do, so I'm still not quite used to it. I'd ask things like "Can I touch this?". Because with green screen, if you randomly touch the set, it will mess with the CG composite. So we have to pay attention not to touch anything or risk missing a hand. It's wild that on location we have a lot more freedom in acting.
Explosion scenes
Shiono: Back in our days, we were covered in dirt and bombs went off left and right. Have you had an explosion scene?
Yuzuki: Explosion? Once, I think? [ep11]
Shiono: Do you sprinkle yourselves with water before that?
Yuzuki: Huh? No, we didn't.
Shiono: No way! haha...
Yuzuki: It still went "BANG" in front of our eyes and I was shocked scared, but the explosion actually wasn't that close to us, so we didn't really take any precautions either.
Shiono: We used to sprinkle ourselves wet before we film explosion scenes, haha. The explosives are no joke.
Yuzuki: The explosions are really that close?
Shiono: Yeah, sometimes it got really close. Our Red, Ryusei Ryo, Ryo-chan. He had a scene where he was shirtless fighting the enemy while bombs went off around him.
Yuzuki: Crazy!
Shiono: Like I said, it's completely different.
Yuzuki: Yeah, completely different.
Shirtless Men and Costumes
Shiono: You don't have anyone on your team that wants to go shirtless, right?
Yuzuki: But... um, Kaguragi?
Shiono: There's Kaguragi, huh?
Yuzuki: Kaguragi and Yanma. They are packed with muscles. Looks like the type that will take off their shirt at a moment's notice. If anyone's going shirtless, it's those two. Especially Kaku-san. He is very muscular.
Shiono: Right, Kaku-san. I was surprised the first time I met him too.
Yuzuki: Yeah, really. At first I wondered how many of me you can fit in him. Probably two or three. He's so big, and his presence too.
Shiono: Everyone's costumes look kinda hot to be in.
Yuzuki: Yes. It's very, very hot in those clothes. Kaguragi's and mine are probably the worst. Especially Rita's gloves. Kaguragi is simply wearing too many layers.
Shiono: Haha. It's like he's from a Taiga drama [Japanese period drama] all by himself.
Yuzuki: He's the only one with a haori and lots of decorative knots :D But for real, I don't think the Kings really fit in on Earth. These costumes feel so out of place during location filming.
Shiono: Really? I understand, I had to wear a green school uniform. Well, but the day we filmed together I got to wear something different, just green clothes this time.
Acting with One Eye
Shiono: What did you think when you first learnt that the role requires you to cover most of your face?
Yuzuki: When I went to the make-up test, the director was playing with my hair and covered my right eye. He said, "Cool. That''ll do." I thought, well that's just one half of my face. Then I saw the collar during costume fitting and was puzzled, Half of my face is already hidden, where are we going with the collar? Only then did I realize, you can only see my left eye. I couldn't think of anything but How am I going to perform? How am I going to act in this for an entire year?
Shiono: You could say your tools of expression got cut down 80%.
Yuzuki: Yes. What can I do, and how can I do it with just my left eye?
Shiono: But your performance ended up vey convincing.
Yuzuki: I was very anxious at first, kept wondering if it was alright to keep on acting like this. I kept on filming while being unsure. Before the show premiered, I was very anxious. The time when we were just filming and filming before the show premiered, I was afraid I couldn't do well. Good thing I made it through now.
Rita-sama and their Deep Voice
Shiono: Everyone loves Rita-sama now.
Yuzuki: Yeah, people started calling me Rita-sama ^_^. Who knows. I didn't start it myself, but the fans just took to calling me Rita-sama.
Shiono: There's no doubt what to call Rita but -sama. With such a handsome voice.
Yuzuki: Since sentai started, I noticed my voice has gotten deeper.
Shiono: Think of it as expanding your range as an actor.
Yuzuki: Well, that is a good thing.
Shiono: I don't think many actresses have such a deep voice, that will surely become your strength.
Yuzuki: Yeah, but at first I had a lot of trouble with it. It was difficult to project loudly while holding my pitch down. It might even turn into a mumble and become difficult to hear sometimes. However, Rita needs to speak clearly and decisively. As a judge, Rita needs to give speeches and verdicts. That was a bit of struggle but it got better as filming went on.

So...I have to blame @sciencewife for this silly little PortalxTrek idea. And thank you to the folks on the discord server for humouring me during the making of this. I'll put more character details under the readmore. Might make more characters for this little au later. Had a lot of fun emulating the Star Trek: Lower Decks artstyle!
USS APERTURE: Not exactly Starfleets moral best, good people don't end up here. But her crew might very well be the best of the best. Headstrong, steadfast, and somehow still alive despite a few admirals wanting them gone, the APERTURE and her crew uphold their mission: to do what they must because they can!
Captain Cave Johnson -"somehow still captain" its Caroline pulling the strings keeping him in charge, and the fact he's willing to take on virtually any mission which makes him an asset worth keeping. -Fan of using the ships PA system, and is well regarded for his inspiring speeches. -Is still a competent captain, just too confident for his own good. Luckily, has a solid crew to back him up.
Commander Caroline Dubuk -An excellent first officer, regularly goes above and beyond (and blackmails a number of officials behind the scenes) for her crew. -Scarf was a present from her best friend after graduating the academy. Wears it regularly in spite of uniform regulations. -Parents split when she was a teenager. Dad married Gla'dos's mother. Neither of them really regard each other as step-siblings, and few even know their relationship with each other
Ensign Chell Redac -Not mute, but is a human of very, very few words. Few enough one would be forgiven for thinking she was. - Regularly pesters Gla'dos, who is the subject of most chaotic antics. Gla'dos is still finding potatoes in her quarters to this day. Chaos is just how Chell says "I like you!". -Determined and stubborn, could be an excellent officer someday.
Commander Gla'dos -Suffered a freak warp-core accident that scarred her and would have been career ending. Built her own prosthetics/enhancements with the help of some off the books Starfleet research. -Is a genius, was in engineering before switching to sciences. -Grew up on Earth in Michigan to a single mother, and is step-sister to Caroline though she does not talk about it

Okay! You asked and I'm here to deliver. this is for In Pieces, when Cody first met the pretty little medic, how did he flirt with her? AND how did Rex react to his buddy horning in on his favorite girl? I need to know!!
Much like ‘Absence//Fonder’, I can discuss the ins and outs of ‘In Pieces’ for days 🤩 This sets everything in motion, and I’m so happy to share!!!
Suggested listening: “Oxytocin” by Billie Eilish
Warnings: none, it’s safely flirty, unless sparring with Jesse needs a warning 🤣
Word count: 1122
Tumblr media
“Do they know I’m coming?” Cody asked, as he and Rex strolled through the barracks.
“No, I thought it would be more fun if we caught them off guard,” Rex replied with a mischievous little grin.
“Maybe I should come back in the morning to see how they measure up after a night at 79’s.”
“Dogma and Hardcase would still be in perfect form,” Rex said proudly. “Come on, they’ll be in the training room.”
“Commander Cody, Captain Rex,” Kix said, saluting as the COs approached.
“Good to see you, Kix. What have we here?” Cody asked.
“A little hand to hand training,” the medic replied.
“Is that your new nat born, Rex?” Cody’s eyes had landed on you, as you danced out of Jesse’s reach with a bright laugh.
“That’s her.” Rex was beaming at you.
“Does she spar with your troopers on a regular basis?”
“If they’re training, she’s training,” Rex said with pride.
“And she’s making Jesse work for it today,” Kix laughed. “Watch your right side, mesh’la!”
“Your luck’s about to run out,” Jesse said with a smirk, as the two of you circled each other.
“Oh, I’m just getting started,” you said, changing directions.
Cody couldn’t take his eyes off of you, as you and Jesse flowed around each other. It was clear this was a well-practiced dance for the two of you. Blocking each other’s strikes. Giving and gaining ground. Constantly in motion, Jesse occasionally giving instructions as you went. Your laughter ringing out when you’d land a hit. Your laugh was infectious, and Cody couldn’t help but smile.
Jesse lunged towards your right. Hand darting out to grab your wrist. You dodged him, letting out a short laugh, only to feel his vice-like grip on your left wrist instead.
“Gotcha,” he said, triumphant as he twisted your arm behind your back, and forced you to your knees.
You struggled against his hold, looking for any weaknesses, and growling in frustration when you couldn’t find one.
“Now what do you say?” He asked.
“I yield,” you deadpanned.
“Good girl!” He replied, hoisting you back to your feet, and guiding you to the edge of the mat. “You’re improving. Kept me at bay for five whole minutes.”
“Five? You’re getting soft,” you replied, beaming with pride at your new record, as you playfully poked Jesse’s abs.
“Soft?! I’m putting you on your ass next time.”
“Five minutes, huh?” Rex said as he and Cody approached. You and Jesse saluted and moved to stand at rest. “At ease. Carry on, Jesse.”
Jesse nodded before adding, “Looks like it’s Kix’s turn to get spanked, so you won’t be the only one today.”
“Famous. Last. Words,” Kix said, rolling his shoulders as he moved past you.
“I wanted you to meet Marshal Commander Cody ahead of our next joint mission,” Rex said.
“Oh,” you said, as Cody locked eyes with you. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, sir.”
“Pleasure’s all mine,” Cody said with a smile. “You looked good out there.”
“Thank you, sir. Jesse and Fives are excellent teachers,” you replied, as you clasped your hands behind your back.
Rex had been looking forward to showing you off, but there was a strange feeling rolling over him in sharp little waves. The mischievous sparkle in your eye was ever present, but there was something else riding just beneath it. Something in the curve of your lips, and the way you were completely focused on Cody.
“Rex says you’re quite the asset to the 501st,” Cody said, lifting his chin slightly, one eyebrow lifting.
“Well, you can’t believe everything you hear, you should come see for yourself,” you replied lowering your chin, and looking up at him through your lashes.
“Oh, I’m sure your bedside manner leaves nothing to be desired.”
“I haven’t had any complaints so far.”
Rex looked between the two of you, and realized the sharp sting was jealousy. He’d seen Cody flirt enough to know when he was making a move, and it was clear you were in his sights.
And while he’d never seen you flirting in earnest it was unmistakable. You were known to get inappropriate with Jesse and Fives, but it was all waggling eyebrows and innuendo. This was different. Your hip was cocked to one side, your voice was softer, more intimate, and you’d reached out to brush your fingers over Cody’s forearm.
“Well, we still have rounds to make,” Rex said clearing his throat.
“We just got here, Rex,” Cody said, raising an eyebrow.
“I trust that Jesse has things in order here. The others are in the range, yes?”
“Yes, sir, and we’ll swap after lunch,” you said, giving Rex your full attention. Turning back to Cody you added, “I handle a blaster pretty well too, if you want to swing back by the range this afternoon.”
“Oh, looking to show off for your boss? Or just angling for a promotion?”
“Just making sure you know your brothers are in capable hands.”
“Rex has assured me they are,” Cody said, his voice warm and inviting.
“We really do need to get going,” Rex said more firmly. “And it looks like Tup is waiting on you.”
You turned to look and sure enough, Tup was waiting near the edge of the mat, looking at you expectantly.
“Oh! Enjoy your rounds, Commander, Captain,” you said saluting them before jogging over to Tup.
Cody watched you go, enjoying how your training gear hugged your body.
“What was that, vod?” Rex asked once they were back in the hallway.
“You didn’t mention how pretty she is,” Cody said, not bothering to pretend.
“It’s not relevant to her ability to do her job.”
“I’m sure it’s relevant to your troopers,” Cody said with a laugh. “Is she seeing any of them?”
“No, they’re all close though,” Rex said.
“Are you sure?”
“Of course I am.” And he was. Fives and Jesse loved to mess around, but they were serious about you. Within a month of your arrival, they’d made it crystal clear that they would personally toss any trooper who played games with your heart directly out of an airlock.
They needn’t have bothered though, much to Rex’s pleasure, as you did a fine job of politely sidestepping any and all romantic advances.
Cody was another story. He wasn’t some shy trooper attempting pick up lines during a check up. This was a problem. In his head, Rex knew that he had no claim over you, but his heart said otherwise.
“Good to know,” Cody said, looking pleased as they continued on to the range.
“Yeah,” Rex replied, wondering if his plan to keep his feelings for you to himself was the best one.

Vil, Jade: Wanting to Shine
Schoenheit mama lore 👁️ Mmm, somehow TWST keeps managing to impress me with just how diverse its families are. There are characters with bad relationships with their guardians, characters with good relationships with their guardians, and then… non-existent relationships altogether. Ruggie is one such example (since his mom died before he had the chance to know her), and now we have Vil as well… I wonder why he feels so impersonal toward his mother?? 🤔I hope we can find out more details someday.
Aaanyway, sorry that this is so late, I got super busy with irl things 😅 but happy belated birthday, Vil!! (xbjsvsjwnz Right as Ruggie’s Broomquet art was revealed too lol) ***WARNING: spoilers for episode 6 of the main story!!***
A Boy in Bloom, and his Flowering Future.
Tumblr media
“What would you like to do this next year?”
Jade glanced up from his clipboard. “If the answer is to come from someone as tenacious as yourself, Vil-san… Your goals must be ambitious indeed.”
“Ara, is that so? Sharp, aren’t you?” Vil tucked a finger under his chin. “You would be correct in your assumption.”
“You’re but 18 years of age, and one age my senior—yet you’ve already accomplished a great many things, much of which the common man can only dream of. “Modeling for the top fashion brands, playing the lead roles in a number of feature films… Many, many accolades,” Jade chuckled, his voice dropping to a gentle purr. “What more do you hope to do?”
“My, you’ve got quite the grasp on my resume.” Vil’s brows pinched slightly. “However, you misunderstand one key point.”
“Oya? And what might that be?”
“Isn’t it obvious?” Vil laughed, tipping his head back with a smirk. “This is nowhere near the pinnacle of my career. No—there is much more that I will achieve.
“For starters, I wish to expand the scope of my presence on set. I’ve dabbled in directing and producing my own modest works through my Film Research Club, but there is still much more for me to learn. Before I graduate, I would like to leave my mark in that area.”
His lips pulled into a smile—small but proud and genuine. “At present, we are working on a short film. The plan is to submit it to a contest and to take home the grand prize.
“Everyone is putting forth their best effort to make that dream into reality." Vil's deep-set amethyst eyes twinkled with fire. "Life makes no promises, so we must seize our stories and write our own fates."
"Spoken like a true leader--how commendable. We underclassmen truly have a wonderful senpai to look up to."
Vil allowed his broom to lean into the crook of an elbow. "I'm no stranger to compliments, but I shudder to hear it coming from you. It's far more benign coming from Rook or Ortho."
"Ah, that reminds me. Ortho-san recently joined the Film Research Club, yes? How does he fare under your tutelage?"
“Need you even ask? Of course I've welcomed him with open arms. He is proving himself to be an excellent asset for our productions. There are many things that only Ortho is capable of doing, from special effects and audio to getting clear aerial shots.
"His acting has also improved considerably. A bit clumsy at first, but with time and observation he has quickly learned. It's impressive just how much Ortho's 'heart' comes through in his performances."
"Oya, such high praise. Idia-san must be a proud big brother."
"Indeed, Ortho is a star on set." Vil tossed his hair over a shoulder. He still smiled, but there was now a cold, lethal beauty edging his lips. "He's setting a high bar for the other spudlings--but I won't be outdone by him, nor by anyone else.
There was a hesitance, the soft sucking of breath through teeth, and then... "Do you recall when I returned from Styx? The state that I was in?"
"How could I forget? Why, you were so old and withered, we barely recognized you as the same glamorous Vil Schoenheit that graces magazine covers and TV screens. It was very memorable, fufufu."
"Stop that grinning before I smack that smirk right off of your face," Vil snapped. (Jade immediately obliged.) "As I was saying, that experience... it opened my eyes to a great number of realizations."
"Oh? You don't say."
Vil nodded. "It was like my life was flashing before my eyes. A full 18 years of memories and feelings colliding at once, and the chilling thought that I would soon be robbed of what little life I had remaining, my future stolen from me... It was terrifying.
"But you know what? I'm glad for having gone through it. Unpleasant as it was... I looked into that mirror and walked away with a glimpse of what lies far ahead for me--and I am here now, able to make the most of the present.
Vil lifted a hand, cupping the stars above in his fingers. "When I live, I want to shine. I want to put my best effort into every piece, every production, that I am a part of. With my name and face out to the public, I can reach more hearts, inspire more people. Then..."
He lowered his hand, fingers closed in a fist--as though he had fished a precious piece of starlight right out of the sky. Vil's lashes were heavy, fluttering like petals in the wind upon his cheeks.
"... That would most definitely carry on into the future. Not just into my future, but into the futures of all I have impacted through my acting. My spirit has become a part of them--and through the lives I have touched, my spirit is alive, and I will continue to shine. That is the power of art and media: it persists long after the creators are no longer with us."
“I see." Jade spoke delicately, as though he, too, were bewitched by the beauty before him.
Such raw, overwhelming charisma and determination. Such… power.
The eel suppressed his mirth.
“In that way, you would be leaving a piece of yourself with the organization. Long after you have graduated, your legacy will still live on in the Film Research Club and through your countless fans."
"You understand."
Vil held his interviewer's gaze. There was a solidarity to their silence, a knowingness, a mutual agreement, between the two. The night, its moon, and the stars, were their audience upon that shared stage.
"My 'beauty' will be eternal, no matter the age I am. I'm certain of it."
His declaration was loud and resolute against the night.
Above the duo, the hands of a grand clock tower turned, locking them--and Vil's promise--into place. Bells roared to life, ringing in a new hour with their deep, reverberating song.
Bing-bong, ding-dong! Ding-dong, bing-bong!
The time of reckoning had arrived.
"I believe that's my signal to exit stage left." Vil swept his broom in an elegant arc. Pink, violet, and maroon particles fell from the bouquet affixed to one end.
"Yes, we wouldn’t want you to keep your beloved fanbase waiting.” Jade took a step back and dipped into a bow. His eyes humbly lowered to the ground, he said, “I wish you safe travels—and the best of luck with your endeavors.”
“Hmph, just who do you take me for?” Vil planted himself on the handle of his broom. He folded his arms, assuming a haughty stance. “I don’t need luck, I’m confident in my own abilities to see my goal through to the very end.
“Now then… Be sure to sear this image into your memories. There won’t be many opportunities for you to witness me at the height of bloom.”
“As you wish.”
With that, Vil departed, his broom rising steadily before sailing off into the darkened sky. Poised, and as close to perfection as he could manage.
A wayward spring breeze tousled his flaxen locks. Silver moonlight wove itself into the gold of his hair, seeping into the cream of his skin.
Petals scattered around him, swarming the birthday boy in a storm of flowers. Vil caught one between his thumb and forefinger—a petal so rose-red it was like blood upon freshly fallen snow. He planted a tender kiss upon it before releasing it back to the wind.
The illuminated face of the clock tower cast him in a heavenly glow. His silhouette, sharp.
A beautiful promise for the future.
Jade smiled after him. Not warmly, but not coldly either.
I’ve learned many things about Vil-san today. Yes… many, many interesting things.

A Lesson In Patience
A lesson In Patience up on AO3
Raphael is horribly bad in bed. But he wants to impress somebody with his prowess. Who is Tav to refuse their favourite fiend help?
"Alright, what have I told you about people being individuals?" Tav crosses their arms and looks down at the devil crouched between their legs.
"That they are and they like different things," Raphael replies slightly bored.
"Right and how do you find out if your lady love likes what you are doing?"
"I watch for her reactions." The devil clearly considers this a waste of his time.
"And what signs are those?" Tav waits for a reply that doesn't come. "Alright. I'll show you. Get back down there."
Raphael lowers his head, slipping his tongue between Tav's leg. It is a pleasing sensation, soft and – offering. Then the tip of his tongue finds their clit. Tav exhales slowly as the devil works them. He is getting better at it.
"Okay, let's say, this is feels really good for your girl, she might do this." Tav thrusts their hips up and Raphael sucks up their whole pussy in return. "Excellent save. Yes. Go for it, more intense, not necessarily with more pressure. Oh, yeah. That does it."
Tav takes a moment to calm their body's reaction. "On the other hand, she may just moan. That is good. She may whimper." Tav displays the sound as well. "That is very good because you are hitting a nerve and she is trying to keep it together. Watch out for hints of pain though. Not everybody is into that."
"Unlikely." Raphael raises his head to reply, mouth dripping and puckered in objection.
"Trust me on this one. Not everybody is and you cannot make them. Not while you're still in the impressing phase. Anyway," Tav pushes his head back over their clit. "Some people freeze up when things are really to their liking. Like this."
They hold very still while Raphael circles their clit with his tongue. It sends quite an amount of desire through their body by now. Some day soon these little sessions would have to end. Not that starting them was a good idea in first place.
But the devil wants to impress in bed and far be it from Tav to let a hapless guy flail and fumble. Women deserved better. And it wasn't as if he'd ever bed them. Which, considering how this started, might have been a blessing. Not anymore though. Tav lets out a long sigh.
"I assume this means the performance is going well?" Raphael props himself up.
"Indeed." Tav scrambles to return to the task at hand. "Remember what I said about sensitive skin and- ah, yes." Tav inhales sharply. "Nipples. Regardless of gender, those are very sensitive so use them well.
"To think you barely reacted," Raphael purrs, obviously happy with his progress. "No more staged responses, dear. Let me take it from here."
"We've been over this, Raphael." Tav cups his face with a hand, relishing in the soft tingle of his hair. "Getting me off doesn't mean anything for you lady. Make her walk the edge for a while before you start actually fucking and you should be fine however short it lasts."
"How do I know this even works?" He moves closer, face inches from Tav's. "Are you afraid I'll find you out?"
"If this worked on me, it would have worked already," Tav insists, concealing the main reason why it didn't work; even though devil dick was of a fortunate shape where g-spots were concerned. Tav pushed Raphael's head away with both hands.
"We covered human and devil shape, do not forget the tail, it may be a true asset." Tav pets the body part in question when it rises beside their head. "Do you intend to show her your ascended form, too?"
"I don't think she will like that."
"Ah. Alright. Her loss." Tav shifts in devil's arms.
But Raphael picks up on something. His eyes narrow, blaze increasing. "You consider it – doable?"
"Well," Tav swallows. "This isn't about me."
"Indulge me, for a moment." There is a subtle shift in his words. "The huge fiery fiend that can snap you in half with one claw?"
Tav has to swallow again because, hot damn. Yes. "Can't see what's not to like?" They confess under the burning gaze of the devil. "Huge monster, searing fire barely contained by black exoskeleton, skull faces, mane of fire and wingspan of a whole fucking house. Mind you, considering assumed size it may take some – work, to get it in."
"It will, yes." The words roll from Raphael's lips like velvet gravel.
"Anyway." Tav licks their lips which it is surely prompted by rising nervousness. "A moot point considering where you are headed."
"Going to a destination doesn't mean you cannot make stops along the way." Hunger drips from the words and the devil grips Tav's arms with strong hands. In the moment it takes Tav to blink, he transforms.
Tav swallows at the fiend before them. It's wings take up the whole room. Long claws curl around their arms and where the devil fit snugly between their legs, the ascended form presses them wide almost painfully. Three skull leer down at them, crowned by fire.
"Accelerated breathing, widened pupils," a fingers forces Tav's mouth open and slips its talon inside, "dry mouth." Raphael cites their own signs of arousal back at them. He leans down until Tav's head is caught between the mandible framing his face. The talon retracts from their mouth and wanders down their chest.
Tav gasps as it caresses its path over their belly and between their legs.
"Panting, wetness." The claw moves between Tav's folds before dipping into their cunt. "Whining, without pain. So far. I think I will take my chances."
Tav can't reply because bones close against their lips and a rough tongue forces its way into their mouth. So they reach for the fiend instead, hands grasping on the wiry surface of the burning body. But the ascended form it too big and Tav's arms reach barely to its waist, still far from the desired cock.
Raphael leans back, surveying his work so far. Tav squirms in his grip, breath heavy and interspersed with small whines. If he had know that it was a simple matter of shape. "On the edge until they are desperate with need, you said." Dark amusement laughs in his words.
Tav groans when he slips them onto their back, holding their upper body down with one hand easily as his head presses down between their legs. Teeth graze the sensitive skin, long canines digging deep into soft flesh. Tav wails when the hot tongue joins in and slips up into their body.
They taught Raphael well to look out for the signs. He digs in a little deeper, caresses a little rougher and a content rumble rises from the fiend's chest. He will take his time and whatever desperation washes over them, Tav brought it onto themself.
Beat, Tav thrusts their hips up into the relentless mouth. It earns them a deep lap and the tip of Raphael's infernal tail in their mouth. He paid close attention. Tav sucks on the tail as if it would ease their need or hasten Raphael. This would not end soon and not without several layers of desperation.
But as the fiend bears down, Tav doesn't even care.

Hey I was watching the vod for Ruff Trigger and you mentioned reading a whole bunch of 'Person Dies and is Reincarnated into the World of a Book Series They Already Read' books and so I was wondering if you've read 'I Favor The Villainess'? Because I may be a little biased because gay women but that one is really good.
Also do you have any specific recommendations for books/manga/etc in that genre?
I have! I tried it once a while back but for whatever reason it didn't hold my attention. I read a few chapters again after getting this and I dunno what I was thinking before, I like it a lot.
As for the many Reincarnation Manhua I am reading, and I am reading a LOT so do not question my knowledge, I have a data sheet and everything, here are my top five in no particular order. Note that these are specifically "Reincarnated into a Pre-Existing Story" Manhuas and not just "Reincarnated" ones, if they were the list would probably look a little different haha. Don't even get me started on the "Rebirth" category.
Tumblr media
#1: Not-Sew-Wicked Stepmom
Status: Ongoing. Currently on season hiatus.
Synopsis: An overworked korean seamstress dies and finds herself reincarnated into the body of the evil step-mother from Snow White. Luckily she wakes up before the story proper begins, while the princess is still a small child, and so she decides to bow out of her bid for the throne and spend her days spoiling her adorable step-child. However, she soon realizes that her former self wasn't the only person trying to exploit the system for power, and that the world of royalty hosts beneath-the-surface a cycle of cruelty and abuse that could destroy the future of any child. Thus, she must do whatever it takes to ensure that the lovable little girl grows up as happily and healthily as possible.
Story Quality: 4/5 A well-paced and expertly woven narrative that keeps the story moving at all times without burning out the reader with too many rapid developments or twists. The only reason it isn't a 5/5 is because I don't know how it'll end.
Art Quality: 5/5 A sweet and expressive art style that does a good job blending in the typical CSP assets while still standing on it's own.
The Drip: 5/5 Every outfit the characters wear is stunning and suits them perfectly, which is to be expected given the series' fashion theme but still greatly appreciated in execution.
The Love Interest: 3/5 While he's a good character and I like him, I don't particularly care if he and the main character hook up. This could change as the series goes on, however.
Spiciness: 3/5 Occasionally suggestive, but overall fairly tame and normal.
Is it worth paying for? Absolutely.
Tumblr media
#2: Beware the Villainess!
Status: Complete
Synopsis: A college student is reincarnated into the body of the nasty villainess of a romance story she had read shortly before dying. Determined to not suffer the same fate, she does everything she can to completely sequence-break the narrative and do things her own way, up to and including befriending the main character, rejecting her princely fiancee, and recruiting a derelict side-character as her right-hand man. But little does she realize that this world won't take her changes lightly, and the characters she knows are not as one-dimensional as they first appear....
Story Quality: 4/5 Clearly thought out and well-executed, the story does an excellent job conveying the ideas it presents. Currently my gold-standard for the "Villainess Sequence-Break" subcategory.
Art Quality: 4/5 Well-executed and expressive, but a little too generic for my liking. It does what's expected of it well, but rarely goes above and beyond.
The Drip: 4/5 Good outfits, including some that make me very gay, but nothing spectacular.
The Love Interest: 4/5 I wasn't with it in the beginning but ngl, by the end of the series I was really rooting for these two.
Spiciness: 4/5 Generally a 3/5, but occasional moments of sexuality do occur, although it doesn't really hit until the special episodes.
Is it Worth Paying For? Debatable. I don't regret paying for the whole thing but if you have better restraint than me you can tough out the wait-until-free episodes and save yourself some coin.
Tumblr media
#3: Surviving Romance
Status: Ongoing. Currently on it's second season.
Synopsis: Chaerin Eun has been trapped in a romance novel for a while now, and today is the day her love interest will finally confess to her and the two can live happily-ever-after!
Things do not go as planned.
Story Quality: 5/5 While I am being careful to not reveal too much, the quality of the story doesn't just hinge on how surprising it's twists and turns are. It has something to say and so far it is doing an extremely good job saying it.
Art Quality: 3/5 I get what it's going for but I do still feel like it could be better.
The Drip: 5/5 This series doesn't let the fact that everyone is in school uniforms stop it from having some striking and downright iconic looks.
The Love Interest: ???/5 : )
Spiciness: 2/5 Good lord, could you imagine?
Is it Worth Paying For? I say yes, but only because it's a currently running webtoon and therefore the only episodes you need to pay for are the most recent ones. I don't know if my answer would be the same if this was a completed webtoon or a series on Tapas.
Tumblr media
#4: Villainesses Have More Fun
Status: Ongoing
Synopsis: A bad-bitch korean business woman is reincarnated into the body of Reilynn Candimon, the villainess of the novel she had been reading, and a character that had greatly frustrated her. Using nothing but her powerful personality, she decides to make the best of this life and peace out from the main story to enjoy her riches. So why does the main character keep picking fights with her?
Story Quality: 3/5 A fun read that doesn't take itself too seriously. You wont be enraptured in a deep and complex narrative, but you'll have a good time and enjoy some genuinely engaging characters.
Art Quality: 3/5 Exactly what you expect from this kind of series and nothing more.
The Drip: 3/5 Some outfits are nice, but some of the ensembles the main character walks around in are downright tragic.
The Love Interest: 1/5 I deadass keep forgetting who it's supposed to be, and then I remember he's a cop.
Spiciness: 2/5 Pretty mild.
Is it worth Paying For? Only if the scanlation is really bad.
Tumblr media
#5: The Villainess' Stationary Shop
Status: Ongoing. Currently on Season Hiatus.
Synopsis: A korean woman wakes up in the body of Meldenique Bebelloa, the villainess of a romance novel. In the original story, her character dies after trying to stop a romance between her fiance and her half-sister. Determined to not end up like that (and not too interested in the prince anyway,) Mel ditches her terrible family in order to live out her life's dream of running a stationary shop! (Essentially a store for school supplies that typically also sells toys and candy.)
Story Quality: 4/5 A kind of generic story is elevated by a cute and likeable characters, a lighthearted tone, and highly satisfying moments of catharsis. Be warned, this manhua is kind of addictive.
Art Quality: 3/5 Passable quality but nothing noteworthy.
The Drip: 4/5 With the extravagance and glitter of most other manhua, this series offers a delightful palette cleanser of cute and modest outfits that greatly demonstrate the character's personalities.
The Love Interest: 4/5 I'm not terribly invested in the romance, but the love interest is a stoic bad boy who is extremely easily flustered by the idea of kissing or even... holding hands?????? It's a fun change-of-pace and makes scenes that would typically be eye-rolling a little more enjoyable as the coolguy is the blushy one.
Spiciness: 2/5 The love interest would probably die if he saw a boob.
Is it Worth Paying For? I had fun with it but again, be warned, it is highly addictive.

If you’re comfy - can we see Bruce at a wedding? Preferably his own wedding with reader, but not sure if you want to do that lol. I have dreams about having a first dance with Bruce 🥰
"Are you here for the bride or the groom," Bruce rumbled, bending so his lips were close to your ear.
"I'm here for my boss," you hum, scanning the room, mentally noting the location of people Bruce had wanted to speak to.
"Well that's no fun-"
"Mr. Wayne, please."
Bruce winced and stood up straight. Realizing that you didn't want to play with him. Not like this. Not right now. You sound tense. Tense and desperately unhappy. "What's wrong?" he asked, moving to stand next to you instead of behind you, tucking your hand into the crook of his arm- unusual, he supposed but. Less intimate seeming.
"Nothing, Sir-"
"Hmm," Bruce grunted. Still keeping his face neutral and pleasant but he felt his eyes narrow slightly. Looking for the source of the tension. He knew better than anyone how rude and sometimes downright cruel this layer of society could be. Pretty polite smiles hiding acid tongue and one hand offering a handshake while the other holds a knife.
"Three of your four targets just went into the lounge for-"
"You'll be alright?" he asked, looking down at you.
"Always," you answer, giving him a smile that didn't reach your eyes, "There must be someone charming to talk to here."
"Hm." He patted your hand and gently lifted your hand from his elbow. "Call if you need anything. I'll be-"
"I'll be alright," you tell him, accepting the glass of champagne he snagged off a tray for you. And made his way to the lounge that you indicated.
"Bruce!" A man he'd went to school with- did something in the financial sector wrenched his hand into a handshake and slapped him on the back, "Just the man I wanted to talk to."
"Why's that Tony," he asked, smiling, "Need a-"
"I gotta know what agency you get your girls from," he said, "God the one you brought today is gorgeous-"
"She's my assistant," Bruce said, smile faltering. Eyes going cold. "She's a professional-"
"I bet she is," he said, giving Bruce a smug 'knowing' look.
"She came highly recommended, well educated, and she's a great asset-"
"Sure Bruce," Tony scoffed, "Do you have to pay her extra or is fucking you-"
"Tony!" Another man said from the pool table, "C'mon, man. Leave the poor girl alone. Just because she told you she was working and didn't wanna go to your room-"
Bruce felt his eyes narrow, "You what?"
The other man, another person Bruce remembered from school- someone who'd been kind if not especially popular, stepped between them quickly, "Let's go get a drink," he said smoothly, glancing meaningfully towards where you stood having a perfectly polite chat with someone else's PA. Telling Bruce that beating someone to death for implying you were a sex worker wouldn't do much to change that opinion.
"Excellent," Bruce said, letting himself be lead away.
"You gotta start hiring ugly girls, Bruce," Gerald muttered, "Or find a guy that can do it-"
"The men can't take the pressure," Bruce chuckled. "And it's not Y/N's fault she's a pretty girl who has the skill set I need."
"Careful, B," Gerald said teasing, "I probably can't afford to let her get her nails done on company time when I act like an ass but- I might be tempted to poach her if-"
"Not a Chance," Bruce said grinning, "I hate breaking in assistants almost as much as I hate weddings."
And Gerald raised his glass in agreement before taking a drink, "You mind if I give my PA her number? He's green- having a little trouble making contacts."
"Go ahead," Bruce said nodding, "There's a little 'club' of them that meets on Wednesday afternoons for sushi and a couple drinks. Y/n said they commiserate and trade notes about everything from lawyers to party planners."
"Perfect," Gerald said, nodding to the guy, younger than you who seems to be trying to figure out how to approach you.
"Let's go introduce them before Miss Rory decides he's being creepy," Bruce said, smiling a little. You might give him a tongue-lashing and a lecture, but Rory would reduce him to tears.

i was wondering how do u think luke’s family reacts to the change? as in his closer family
rhaenyra watching her sweet boy go from a pure loving child to a distant predator
jace watching his brother who once couldn’t even defend himself from his own family become rabid with desire to spill blood
daemon would be especially confusing, would he indulge the boy’s violence and find a kindered soul or maybe he would be as horrified as the rest watching luke change
omg would it have any physical changes on him?
such a great au i’m overthinking the fuck outta it
An excellent question! None of them would hate Luke, there'd just be an adjustment period for all of them.
Currently, my view on them are:
Rhaenyra - At first, she would be too relieved to notice. She had thought she'd lost another child, and having him come back to her in spite of his uncle and the gods, would override any initial concern over his changes. But she's a seasoned mother and Luke is her favourite child - she'd pick up on things quickly, and then the worry would set in. She'd mourn the loss of his innocence and would cling to any glimmer of his former self that made an appearance, though she'd understand and would never reject him - because in her eyes, that would be tantamount to wishing he had died.
Jace - Similar to their mother, Jace would just be relieved that his brother survived. I'm tossing up between whether he'd deliberately ignore the more concerning changes in Luke, or if he'd be the first to catch on. Probably the second, because I like the idea of an older brother struggling to let go of those engrained beliefs, and having to confront the truth that his brother doesn't really need his protection anymore. Either way, Jace, while he'd be concerned, would still back Luke 100%, and would try to connect with this new version of his little brother. Aemond is definitely on his shit-list though and he'd hate the fact that Luke is more than a bit obsessed with their uncle.
Daemon - He'd be the one Luke goes to because if anyone can understand the dark thing building in Luke's heart, it would be his stepfather. Daemon would treat Luke carefully, watching his growth with interest and encouraging him to learn to fight more viciously. Daemon, with his mind full of war, would also see Luke and Cannibal as a massive asset, and once Luke expressed interest in it, he'd be the one to talk Rhaenyra around to letting Luke out to fight. He still loves Luke, of course, and is protective in his own way, but he understands that there are some things people never recover from. All he wants is to ensure Luke is prepared so that the next time he faces Aemond, things are more in his favour.
Rhaena - I'll mention Rhaena as well, since I want to give her friendship with Luke it's proper due. I don't see them as romantically interested in each other, instead, they'd likely be best friends. Rhaena, I feel, would be the first person Luke actually confessed to - explaining why Cannibal claimed him. He'd tell her about eating Arrax, and the shame he feels. Rhaena would be a huge pillar of support for him, and her acceptance of him would be a recurring theme of their friendship. Luke has always respected and valued her, even before their betrothal, and Rhaena can't imagine a life without Luke by her side - whether that's as her brother, her husband, or just her friend.
That's as deep as I can go at the moment, but I hope that gives you an idea! I like drawing parallels between characters, and I like the juxtaposition of the Blacks unconditionally accepting Luke, while Aemond struggles to be accepted by the Greens due to his actions.

Hi! I'm that one person on ao3 who was like. Utterly obsessed w Bury Them Deep, and I was wondering if you have any thoughts you'd like to share on the playing styles of any of the other characters? Especially the women, but really anyone, I just find it really neat
Oh my goddddd, yes yes yes please because I have thought so much about this shit.
Momo: an absolutely incredible goalie positionally. You could put her in textbooks on how to hold yourself. Her pushes are perfection, like she's just floating on the ice. Her glove hand is wonderful too, as is her stick handling and she has great height. But her best asset, and also worst one, is absolutely her mind. When she is calm and confident, she's an analytical God. The problem is with her tendency to overthink. Too many bad goals or even just unlucky ones and she has to be pulled because it's just gonna get rough. It's one thing that she really admires about Mezou because he can just shrug it off.
Urakara: The ballsiest defenseman you have ever seen. She played exclusively with boys for years and you can tell because if she's going to get a penalty, it will be for playing too rough. She has really excellent vision for the game however and plays a long game that even Bakugou has grudgingly admitted is admirable. They've had some scrimmages where she's actually out played him and after the first time, everyone expected him to blow up but he was like 'good game'. She's not the best skater and her speed isn't fantastic but its the hockey iq that keeps her where she's at, knowing when and where to pinch and where the game is going. She also has a pretty gnarly snapshot and a fantastic PP QB.
Mina: Mina is a skating god. Seriously, she will break your ankles and you won't have any idea until she's long gone. She was a figure skater until she got suuuuuper bored by it and talked her way onto a team, only to end up being super good at it. She's a right winger with a nice little wrister and is great on the foreheck but uuuuuuh, backchecking isn't her forte. That being said, she actually isn't terrible on the PK, especially since that means chances at short handed goals and boy do you not want to let her try.
Hagakure: You know those players that you tend to forget about? They don't really do anything especially interesting so when they do score, you're like 'oh! Holy shit! They're on the team!'? Thats Hagakure. Definitely a grinder queen, doing all the little shit that makes everyone on the team *love* her but that makes her seem totally unremarkable unless you're looking for it. A Chris Kunitz type, if that makes any sense. Always the first on the backcheck, has an awesome +/-, fantastic defensive forward, but unremarkable. She's also locker room gold because she WILL break any shitty moods up.
That's all the girls. I could also bring up Shouta and Hizashi.
Shouta: Positionally pretty good, pretty good reflexes though really nothing spectacular. His biggest handicap has always been his height, which is only short for goalies, and his lack of the superhuman athletic ability that most pro hockey players have. The thing that got him as far as he did was his hockey iq and specifically, how he could look at the ice and read plays. The ECHL and even the AHL were rough for him because the play was so much more chaotic but the few times that he got to play in the NHL were incredible. Because he could see it, he could read all of it and it all made sense. His body just couldn't hang.
Hizashi: I based him off of a combo of Beau Bennett and Tyler Seguin. I even gave him Beau's number, 19, and it was partially due to Beau's nickname of Sunshine and me liking how that matched with the meaning of the name 'Hizashi'. I also thought it was pretty apt given Beau's talent and promise but how his body just could not stay healthy enough to do the things that you could tell he wanted to do.
Oboro: He was a pond hockey player and was proud of it, lol. Put him on defense or have him play as a forward, he didn’t really care. He saw pretty early on how the hockey world just kinda sucked and was like 'nah, I'm good'.
If you have any more questions, I can not stress how delighted I would be to answer them.

I come bringing a prompt, in hopes that it will help your writing inspiration--how about CaraDin and “Are we on a date right now?” 😊
Din’s head rang as the fist hit his visor hard enough to rattle his helmet, but he had taken the blow so he could sweep his opponent’s leg when she got close enough.  Cara fell right into it - literally - and he pounced down to pin her.  “Yield.”
She grinned and tried to flip him, but he was very used to that particular move by then and shifted his weight to prevent her from using it.  Cara grabbed his belt before he could stop her and yanked him forward, making him fall backwards and off her and next thing he knew, his neck was pinned down between her thighs.  “Yield,” Cara said smugly.
“Do I have to?  I like it here.”
She laughed and stood, about to offer her hand, but he grabbed her leg and brought her down, straddling her.  “I didn’t yield.”
Her fingers poked him right in that ticklish spot in his ribs, and one flinch was all it took for her to get leverage and have him on his back again.  “I didn’t either,” Cara said.
“I feel like all our sparring sessions end the same way these days.”
“Are you complaining?” Cara asked.  “I tend to like how they end.”
“You could at least buy me dinner first.”
“Aren’t we on a date right now?” Cara asked, lazily stretching her arms above her head in a way that she knew provided him an excellent view of all her assets outlined under the shirt she wore.
“Greef did say he’d keep Grogu for the next few hours.”
“Well, I think we should make good use of the time.”  Cara stood up, and this time Din took the hand she offered, not letting go as they left the sparring ring to find more comfortable accommodations.

Mid Dragon's World Chapter 2
Chapter 2: Going to the Mall
That night, Alex, my dad, Theian, and I sat at the dinner table, waiting for Z'haer, Eig'nia, and Girido to return. My stomach was growling at me. It was telling me that it wanted food and it wanted food now. Dad had a chicken cooking in the oven that felt like it had been in there forever. I moaned as I slammed my head down on the table, feeling lightheaded.
"Jakol, head up." Dad commanded.
As soon as I heard him say that, I immediately swung my head up. My dad looked at me with an angry kind of look for a few seconds then turned his attention to Theian.
"Theian, how did their first day of training go?" Asked dad.
"Rather well. Alex shows a lot of promise. His strength should become a valuable asset to you in the future. Jake, however…While he shows potential, he's uneasy about using his powers. I hope to be able to change that." Theian said.
"Oh? And how do you plan to do that?" Dad asked, sounding interested.
"I'm not sure yet. But I'll think of a way." Theian answered.
"Hmph!" Dad smiled. "I admire your enthusiasm Theian. I will continue to leave their training to you."
"Thank you, sir." Said Theian.
Just then, the oven timer dinged and a knock came from the door both at just about the same time. The door opened and into the kitchen walked Eig'nia, Girido, and Z'haer.  They sat down at the table just as dad was pulling the chicken out of the oven. Dad brought the chicken to the table and sat it down. Then he took off his oven mitts and set them on the kitchen counter. I put my hand over my mouth, smiling, trying to keep myself from laughing too loudly. The thought of a dragon wearing oven mitts just seemed so funny to me. I didn't even know if dragons who were in human form could handle a tin just out of the oven with their bare hands. I guessed not if dad had to wear those every time he cooked.
Dad brought out seven plates and gave us each one. He took a knife and cut into the chicken, giving us a piece each. As soon as we were given our food, we immediately started eating, but before I started to eat, I got up and grabbed myself a glass of water and then went back to my seat.
"So how did things go? Did you find a good place to start?" Dad asked Eig'nia, Z'haer, and Girido, taking a bite of his chicken.
"Not yet sir. So far all the places we've inspected were much too big to begin the operation. We will be moving our search further out west tomorrow." Said Eig'nia, setting her knife and fork on her plate.
"Excellent. I look forward to your results Eig'nia." Dad said, smiling.
"Yes…" I heard Eig'nia say quietly. Strangely, she sounded a little sad.
For a few minutes, we were all quiet. No one said a thing while we concentrated on our food.  Suddenly, Girido sat his chicken leg down on his plate as he chewed. Once he swallowed, he placed his fork in his plate next to the chicken leg and leaned forward in his chair.
"So boys, how did your training with Theian go? Was he yelling at you the whole time?" Girido asked in a mocking voice.
"N-No, it was fine." I answered him, unsure of what else to say.
"Really?!" Girido said, pretending to sound surprised. "Goodness me! I guess Theian isn't such a bad guy after all!"
Theian jerked out of his chair, knocking it over, his left hand tightly clenching his fork as he looked at Girido angrily.
"Girido, how about you shut your goddamn mouth before I shut it for you!" Theian roared, looking like he was about to pounce on Girido at any moment.
"Ohh hoo!!" Girido laughed. "I'm SOOOO scared! Just sit down. You're embarrassing yourself in front of Lord Saulstrance."
"That's enough children." Z'haer butted in, sounding irritated by their fighting. "We're all working towards the same goal. So as long as we're working together, we might as well make nice."
"I can agree with that." Eig'nia replied, biting off some chicken skin.
Without saying anything else, Theian shrunk back into his chair and continued eating. For the rest of dinner, no one said anything. Once we were done, we just went straight to bed. I said goodnight to Alex who said goodnight back. Then I told Theian goodnight but he didn't say anything. He made his way to the door, followed by Girido, Eig'nia, and Z'haer. I closed the door to my room and went over to my window and watched as Theian opened a portal that he and the others went through.
I laid down in my bed, putting my arms behind my head, looking up at the ceiling as I thought about what happened at dinner tonight. I felt pretty bad for Theian. Girido knew how easy it was to make Theian angry and whenever they were together, he'd always try to make him mad. I didn't think Theian did anything to deserve that. Sometimes I wished that Girido would just leave him alone.
As I continued to think, there was a knock at my door. The door opened as Alex walked into my room. He sat down on the side of my bed and turned towards me.
"Hey man. Sorry Girido had to go and ruin your birthday." Alex said.
"It's okay, he didn't ruin it. It's just…I don't know…I think he's just a real jerk. I don't like him very much." I said.
"Just be glad dad didn't make you too work together." Alex added.
"I know right?" I said, sitting up and laughing. "It would've been worse if dad made him and Girido work together! Just think!"
"They'd end up killing each other!" Alex exclaimed.
"Yeah." I agreed.
Alex stood up and walked towards the open door. I laid back down and was about to close my eyes before Alex said my name.
"Oh! And, Jake?" Alex said.
"Yeah Alex?" I responded.
"Happy birthday, lil' bro."
I smiled. "Thanks, big bro."
Alex left my room and headed to his. I heard him say goodnight to dad as he passed him the hall. Just as I was about to turn off my light, dad came in, standing in the doorway. I turned over on my stomach and saw him looking over at me.
"So did you have a good birthday son?" Asked dad.
"Yeah. It was okay." I answered.
"I see that Alex got you a pretty neat birthday present." Dad said as he walked over to my PS5 that was still in the box.
"Hmm…Playstation 5…" Dad said as he picked my PS5 and studied it, turning the box over every few seconds and reading out loud what was on each side.  Being old and a dragon, I guessed that he didn't know much about video games. I wondered, if I was able to get dad to play some games, would he be any good?  …Probably not.
Dad placed my PS5 back on the ground and took a seat on my bed.
"Sorry that Theian and Girido ruined your birthday dinner." Dad said.
"It's okay. They didn't ruin it." I said, telling dad the same thing I told Alex.
"In addition to your video game, Alex and I also got you a chocolate cake. We were going to have some after dinner but…Well, maybe we can all have some tomorrow."
Dad stood up and walked to the door. He looked back at me one last time before leaving my room.
"Get some good sleep, Jakol. You have another big day of training tomorrow."
"I know." I said, shutting my eyes immediately after he said that.
"If training goes well tomorrow, I'll let you stay up until midnight so you can play your video games."
"Really?!" I said a little loudly, my eyes bursting open in excitement.
Dad shut off the lights and closed my door. I closed my eyes again and started to feel sleepy. I opened my eyes one last time so I could get a look at my PS5 once more. I blinked several times and then fell asleep.
The next day, Theian woke me and Alex up at around 9:00 in the morning so that we could get to the mall sooner.  Our training went until about 1:00. By then it was time for us to head to the mall.
Theian changed into his dragon form and instructed us to climb on. He crouched down so that me and Alex could get on his back.  Once we were aboard, Theian stood up and opened his wings.
"You know, I really don't think this is such a good idea." Theian muttered, lowering his head.
"Aw c'mon Theian! It'll be fun!!" I said in an excited voice, smiling widely.
"Fun for you kids! What am I supposed to do if some humans see me in this form?" Theian asked, sounding testy.
"Don't worry about it Theian! We'll cross that bridge when we come to it!" Alex said, sounding like he didn't have a care in the world.
"You kids are just trying to annoy me now, aren't you?" Theian sighed. "Oh well."
"Hold on tight!" Theian said and before we knew it, we were flying at superfast speeds straight into the air. First, we were thirty feet in the air, then fifty, one hundred; soon we were more than three hundred feet above the ground. I looked over the side just to see how high up we were. My body started to shake in fear as I closed my eyes and wrapped my arms tightly around Theian's neck. I knew I had wings and that if I did fall off, I could either fly back up or try and fly to the ground, but I didn't know just how long my wings would be able to carry me and I wasn't about to try.
We flew through the air, soaring high above the many houses, apartments, businesses, we were soaring over everything! I looked down again and saw all the people walking below us. They didn't even look like people, they looked more like ants. Even though I was still a little scared, I had to admit, I was having a lot of fun. Me and Alex, we were the only kids who ever got to ride on a dragon's back. I smiled at that thought. I thought it made us pretty cool.
"YEAH!!! WHOO!!! WHOOOOOOO!!!"  I shouted and cheered at the top of my voice, pumping my fist in the air a couple times.
"Isn't this awesome Alex?" I asked, turning around to face Alex and pushing my bangs back.
"Yeah! You havin' fun too Theian?" Alex asked, sounding excited, pushing his hair back too.
"It's not bad." Theian answered.
"Now hold on tight. I'm gonna show you kids something cool." Not sure what Theian meant but following his instruction anyway, I grabbed hold of Theian's neck and Alex wrapped his arms around my waist. Theian flew slightly higher and did two backflips. My legs pressed tightly against the sides of Theian's neck while Alex's dangled off the side.  I screamed, fearing thatmy arms wouldn't be able hold on and I'd fall off.
Once Theian stopped, I put my hand over my chest, taking as many deep breaths as I could. My eyes were wide and my heart was pounding.
"You okay Alex?" I asked.
"Ye-yeah." Alex responded, panting almost as badly as I was.
I shut my eyes, taking in one gigantic breath and exhaled. I looked down and saw that we were almost directly above the mall.
"Ooh, Theian! That's it! That's the mall!" I said, pointing ahead of us.
"Alright. Now the question is: Where can we land?" Said Theian.
"There's a parking garage built underneath the mall. We could fly through there." Alex said.
"Are there people in this parking garage?" Theian asked.
"Nah! Usually they're upstairs buying stuff." I said.
Theian flew around the mall, looking for the entrance to the parking garage. Once he found it, Theian swooped down into the garage, coming in for a rough landing as he collided into a car and me and Alex fell off of him. I looked at my knee and my elbow that had been scrapped. Although they weren't bleeding, they still hurt quite a bit so I rubbed them, trying to take some of the pain away. I saw that Alex was rubbing his arm and leg too. When I looked over at Theian, who had changed into his human form, I noticed that the car he crashed into was squished so it looked like one of those little box shaped cars. Two other cars had their backs destroyed and almost taken completely off by Theian's powerful tail.
"Umm…Oops?" I said nervously as the three of us stood up.
Panicking at the thought that one of the owners would come down and see what we did to their car, I looked around, hoping to find the escalator leading into the mall. I noticed it at the far end of the parking garage so I ran towards the escalator with Theian and Alex following behind me. We rode it up and a few seconds later, we were standing in the mall.
"Huh…Sure are a lot of people here." Theian said, walking forward and looking around in amazement.
"Haven't you ever been to the mall before Theian?" I asked.
Theian shook his head. "No. In fact, until now I never even knew what a mall was."
"Seriously?!" I asked, finding it hard to believe what he was saying. "Geez just how much time HAVE you spent in our world?"
"So Alex, you ready to buy me those games you promised?" I asked, smiling as I turned around and walked backwards.
"Yea-Yeah, sure…" Alex said dully.
"You okay Alex?" I asked, stopping in front of him.
"Huh?"
"I asked if you're okay." I said.
"Oh, yeah, sure I'm fine!" Alex said. "Well, come on Jake! Let's go get you some games!" Alex said, marching ahead of us.
Even though Alex said he was okay, I knew he wasn't. He always acted like this whenever we were around humans. When it was just us he was usually pretty happy but whenever we'd go somewhere like the movies or Gamestop, he'd always become really angry. I didn't really know much about what happened to Alex before my dad adopted him. He never wanted to talk about his past. All dad ever told me was that Alex's real dad, a human, did something terrible to his mom, a dragon, and that's how he came to live with us.
Theian and I followed after Alex as he made his way towards Gamestop. As I walked into the store, I bumped into a boy about my age who was just leaving, knocking his game out of his hand.
"Aw man I'm sorry!" I said as I bent over to pick up his game for him.
I handed the kid's game to him. He was about my height and had slightly tan skin and dark brown hair. He wore dark grey shorts and a white shirt with nothing on it. He thanked me and ran out the door, saying goodbye to the guy working at Gamestop who he called Billy.
As I walked over to the PS5 games, Billy asked me if I needed help finding anything. I told him that I was just looking right now as I kneeled down and glanced over the games. Not finding anything I wanted on that row, I stood up and browsed another row. This time I came across two games: One was Street Fighter 10 and the other, which was also a Street Fighter game was DC Heroes Vs Street Fighter, both of which were about $49.99. As badly as I wanted both games, I knew that was a lot of money so I'd probably only be able to get one. The question was which one? Both games sounded really good but eventually I settled on DC Heroes Vs Street Fighter since that one not only had the Street Fighter characters but also characters like Batman, Superman, Green Lantern and all the other DC superheroes.
With one game picked out, I figured I could probably get one more. This time I wanted to get a game like Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy. I remembered hearing that a new Final Fantasy came out a while ago that was kinda like Kingdom Hearts called Final Fantasy Versus 13 so I glanced around the middle shelves, looking for the "F" games. After searching for a little bit, I came across the game. As soon as I spotted it I picked up the game and placed it on top of my Street Fighter game. With my games picked out I took them over to Alex who was standing by the counter. Alex took the games and gave them to Billy.
"This it?" Asked Billy.
"Yeah." I responded.
Billy rang the games up.  They ended up being about ninety dollars together. Alex reached into his pocket, pulling out only forty dollars. I reached into my pocket to see if I had any money I could give Alex. I pulled out all of my money which was only thirty dollars. I didn't have enough to get both games.
"I don't have enough…" I said, disappointed.
"Well if you want, I could hold onto this for you for a couple of days." Billy offered, patting his hand on the game twice.
"That's okay." I said as I grabbed Final Fantasy Versus 13 and put it back on the shelf. I walked back to the counter.
"So just this today?" Billy asked, holding up Street Fighter.
"That's all." I said.
"Alright, then that will come to $51.10."
Alex handed all his money to Billy and I gave Billy two of my tens. He gave me my change and put my game in a bag which he handed to me.
Once we left Gamestop, I started to think about how badly I wanted to play that new Final Fantasy game. Of course DC Heroes Vs Street Fighter was cool enough but I thought it would just be awesome to get both games.
"Hey man, sorry I couldn't get you that other game." Alex said.
"It's okay Alex." I smiled to him, handing him the change Billy gave me. "I'll get to play it…someday."
As we strolled through the mall, my stomach growled.
"Hungry?" Theian asked.
I really was. After all, I didn't get to eat much today. All I had to eat was some breakfast and that only lasted me during training. What I really wanted to eat right now was a big, juicy cheeseburger, some French fries, a malt. Just thinking about all that food made me even hungrier.  Then I realized: Disco Burger!
"Hey guys! Wanna eat at Disco Burger?" I asked.
"Disco Burger"? Theian asked, not understanding what I was talking about.
"Yeah it's a restaurant. Follow me, I'll show ya."
And so I led Theian and Alex to Disco Burger. When we got there, Theian stood a couple feet in front of the entrance, looking up at it with an amazed look at his face.
"Come on! Let's go in!" I said
The three of us went into the restaurant. Inside, we had to wait in a line of five people. We waited for about a minute before we were seated. We sat at a table next to a window. Alex and Theian sat together in the booth on the left side of the table while I sat in the booth on the right. Alex and I grabbed ourselves each a menu while Theian continued to look around, still intrigued by this place. I grabbed a menu for Theian and handed it to him.
"What is this?" Theian asked.
"It's a menu. It shows you what kind of food the restaurant has." I explained.
"Huh…" Said Theian, sounding a little interested.
Theian opened his menu and looked through it. After a little while a waiter came to our table.
"Hello, my name is John and I'll be your waiter for today. Can I get you anything to drink?" The waiter asked.
"Can I get a coke?" I asked.
"Okay, a coke. And you?" The waiter asked Alex.
"I'll have what he's having." Alex answered.
"Another coke…And you?" The waiter asked Theian this time.
"What are these 'beverages'?" Theian asked.
"Umm sir, beverages are what you drink. You know, water, soda…That kind of stuff?"
"Okay…and what is 'soda'?" Theian asked again.
"You…you're joking right? You really don't know what a soda is?"
"I'm sorry!" I said, laughing uncomfortably. "He's my uncle! He's a bit weird. He's not from this world."
"Clearly…"  The waiter said, rolling his eyes.
Theian growled, looking angry at the waiter. He turned his head to the window.
"I'll just put him down for a coke too."  Once the waiter was done taking down our orders for what we wanted to drink, he went to go and get our sodas. A little while later he returned with three cokes. I grabbed my coke and gulped it down until there was only half a glass left.
"Aw man! That's good!" I said, sighing loudly.
"Whoa!" Alex said, amazed at how much I drank in such a short time.
Theian brought his glass to his lips. He took a sip of his soda, smacking his lips together a few times.
"Hmm…It's like water…but it's got a flavor to it. How's it made?" Theian asked, taking another sip.
"Umm…Umm…Well…" I said, not knowing the answer to that myself.
"Uh…" Alex stalled, also not knowing the answer.
"Well..., I don't…really know." I finally said.
"But…do you like it Theian?" I asked.
"It's not bad." Theian replied, taking another drink.
It was about another five minutes before the waiter came back to take our order. By then, me, Alex and Theian had finished our sodas. Much to my surprise, Theian somehow managed to finish his soda before I could get done with mine. I was watching in shock as Theian finished his soda in one gulp without even stopping to breathe.  I ordered a cheeseburger with a side of fries, Alex ordered the "Disco Double", a burger with twice the meat and twice the cheese, and Theian, not knowing what anything else on the menu was, just ordered the same thing I did. The waiter took our menus and our empty glasses and went into the kitchen. He returned a little later with our glasses refilled. He told us that our order would be ready shortly. A little while longer, he returned with our food
I ate several fries while Alex took a big bite of his Disco Burger. Theian, however, held the burger in his hand, looking at it like he was trying to figure out what it was.
"Theian, you gonna eat your burger?" I asked.
"Of course! It's just…I wonder what these are made from?" Theian said.
"They're made from cows." Alex said with his mouth full.
"This? This was made from a cow?" Theian asked, pointing at his burger.
"Well yeah." Alex said.
"This isn't a cow. I've eaten cows much bigger than this." Said Theian, setting his burger in his dish.
"Wait, you've eaten cows before? Like, cow cows, not burgers?" I asked, having a hard time believing what Theian was saying.
"Of course. I've eaten live cows, dead cows. I've also eaten stuff other than cows." Theian answered.
"Like what?" Alex asked, becoming interested.
"Hmm…Snakes, foxes, rabbits…I've even eaten bears before."
"What!" Alex said, smiling in disbelief. "No way! You haven't eaten a bear!"
"And what if I have? How would you know if you weren't there?" Theian replied.
"Do other dragons eat animals?" I asked.
"All dragons do. There are some dragons who will go only after small animals like rabbits or foxes. They are normally children or dragons who aren't necessarily the best hunters. There are also dragons who are against eating live animals. They will only take the carcasses of animals that are already dead. But then you have the dragons who like to hunt bigger targets. These are the dragons that will go after prey such as lions, tigers, bears. They're the risk takers.
"Whoa!" I said in amazement. "There are dragons that hunt lions?!"
I couldn't believe it. It sounded so awesome and yet so unreal. I knew I'd never be brave enough to try and take on a lion or a tiger or a bear. I'd be way too scared. But if Theian was strong enough to beat a bear, then he was even cooler than I thought he was.
"Theian! The next time you go hunting, please, take me and Alex with you!!" I pleaded.
"No." Theian answered quickly.
"What? Why?" I whined.
"Because it's too dangerous, that's why! If something happened to you boys, what would Saulstrance do? Besides, what good would a kid who's too afraid to use his own powers be on a hunt?"
Hearing Theian say that really hurt my feelings. I grabbed my burger, turned away from him and started eating it again without saying anything else to him. Theian just didn't understand. None of them did. It was my powers that made people hate me. It was my powers that kept driving friends away. I didn't want to use my powers because I was sick of them hurting people. Deep down, I didn't want people to see me as a monster. I just wanted them to see me as a normal kid.
When we had finished eating, our bill came to $18.75. I payed for all our food, leaving me with only a dollar and twenty five cents left.
Our flight back to the house was a quiet one. I didn't have anything to say to Alex or Theian. I just couldn't stop thinking about what Theian said to me. Over and over I kept hearing in my head, "What good is a kid who's too afraid to use his own powers?"
"Jake?" Theian called to me.
"Yeah?" I said in a slightly sad voice.
"Look, what I said at the restaurant…I'm sorry. That was a terrible thing for me to say."
"It's okay." I said, accepting his apology.
"But I still stand by what I said. I don't want you or Alex coming with me on my hunts. The kind of animals I hunt are too dangerous for you boys and I don't want anything happening to you. Saulstrance put me in charge of you two and that means I also have to watch out for your safety."
"I understand." I said, smiling.
While I was still a little hurt by what Theian said, his apology made me feel a little bit better. And even though I still thought it would have been pretty neat to see how a dragon like Theian hunts, I knew I shouldn't keep arguing with him. Besides, right now it was time for something just as neat.
It was game time!

S3 continues on! These are very scattered, out-of-order thoughts, so be warned~. ;)))
Thus far, I think Nevermore is my favorite of the entire series.
Nevermore: Stellar episode. WOW, it's good. Vincent restlessly driven to the abandoned tower, seeing hope in Elliot Burch's tower (ones like the others he's built), and parrying away Father's priorities so that he can recover his own son. Gabriel and his role as a father, his advice perfectly mapping out the darkness (I assume) Vincent will have to tread to get his son back. Father understanding Vincent's plight but not truly: he had lost Devin completely, taking him for dead rather than missing; so his recommended path holds no weight or merit to Vincent (especially because of the potential outcomes.) The script was a boon this episode; and I was juggling the ability to read ahead a little so that I could more fully appreciate the actors' expressions and also not spoil the next plot point. Joe and Elliot meet again and Joe's not having it. Moreno, Moreno, Moreno: Joe's confrontation (excellent scene), then going after Burch ASAP instead of Joe first (bigger fish, bigger enemy; but I can't help but think he wanted to A. retain his assets and B. had genuine affection for Joe.) Truly every scene with all of these actors is never wasted. DIANA-- the bush and the card and finding the tunnels, and the children alerting Vincent and he staring at her and having to lose another tie to Catherine... uh oh (AND THE SCRIPT NOTES FOR HE AND DIANA IN THIS MOMENT.) I also noticed she and Vincent both repeated the last line "death shall have no dominion" twice (though I can't remember which episode Vincent did that in.) Gabriel's speech. Joe knowing the truth about Moreno and Elliot Burch apologizing to him while Joe flounders and shakes. Joe and Moreno having it out ("there's a principle here"; then Moreno later reflecting the morals Joe got out of his training by reminding Maxwell those weren't the ones he taught.) I noticed Moreno was filmed looking down when updating Gabriel, likely from the cut lunch/dinner scene with Gabriel (but it's kind of funny to think of him kowtowed and not wanting to meet the other man in the eye as well.) The showdown in the carousel... what a significant place to do it-- as you say, layers on layers. Elliot seeing Vincent after he brutally kills Moreno (who, summed up, truly is "what could be worth all this?") and his backup and realizing how all the pieces fit together and still yelling after the humanity in Vincent (his name) to help him. Vincent getting shot twice and grasping at Burch for support and realizing too late his face had been seen and fleeing and collapsing in the tunnels from his wounds while whimpering... great stuff. Diana getting a flash from holding the rose (feeling Catherine's hand prick or the emotion she felt in that moment... or even now with what's happening to Vincent?) And the script nailing home that "empath" undercurrent-- exquisite.
Sidenote: To the people who said S3 is gorier... naaaaaaaaaaahhh, it just has "more" direct stakes and impact. And it really and truly is *chef's kiss*.
Nevermore is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to excellent storytelling. You have no idea what's coming your way!
Let's get into it down here...
After watching this one, can you see why I adore Elliot? He may be shady at times, but he's got a big heart and he really does want to do the right thing. Vincent chose wisely by going to him.
Gabriel and his role as a father, his advice perfectly mapping out the darkness (I assume) Vincent will have to tread to get his son back.
The advice he gave strikes me as more a look at Gabriel's nihilistic worldview than anything Vincent might have to deal with going forward. He wants this baby because it's Vincent's, because he sees opportunities to mold the child into someone worthy of his idea of greatness, which is to do whatever you have to do to get what you want, to claim victory. All he knows of Vincent at this point is his capacity for violence and rage. Might come in handy to raise a child who shares the same qualities but looks "normal."
Father understanding Vincent's plight but not truly: he had lost Devin completely, taking him for dead rather than missing; so his recommended path holds no weight or merit to Vincent
Which V makes clear to him when he tells him very curtly, "I did not come here for your counsel." And he doesn't exactly care if he gets Father's blessing, either. He's going to do whatever it takes. The subtle similarities between Vincent and Gabriel are very interesting, especially as the season progresses.
I love the all the moments between Joe and Elliott in this ep. because they're so determined to get to the truth and find justice for Cathy, even if it hurts. And Elliot being so protective of Vincent, when the only thing they have in common is their love for Cathy.
I noticed Moreno was filmed looking down when updating Gabriel, likely from the cut lunch/dinner scene with Gabriel (but it's kind of funny to think of him kowtowed and not wanting to meet the other man in the eye as well.)
I love the way that was played, that Moreno can't even look Gabriel in the eye. Gabe is a scary dude.
DIANA-- the bush and the card and finding the tunnels, and the children alerting Vincent and he staring at her and having to lose another tie to Catherine... uh oh (AND THE SCRIPT NOTES FOR HE AND DIANA IN THIS MOMENT.)
Yes! That's why I suggested you read the scripts as you go. Lots of good stuff there.
I also noticed she and Vincent both repeated the last line "death shall have no dominion" twice
Call me crazy, but I think she's already forming an odd sort of psychic connection with him. She must be: why else would she focus on that particular poem and those particular lines from everything else she's gathered as evidence? She may have started out looking for Cathy's killer, but she quickly made finding V a priority - and not because she thinks he did it. She just needs to know who this guy is.
Love the showdown at the carousel and Vincent not hesitating to protect Elliot and the first time Elliott sees him. He looks shocked, of course, but that doesn't stop him from calling after him. I love the parallel of how both Cathy and Vincent seem to bring out the best in the people around them.
Diana getting a flash from holding the rose (feeling Catherine's hand prick or the emotion she felt in that moment... or even now with what's happening to Vincent?)
I'm convinced she felt a foreboding when he was shot. She knew something was wrong. It's so interesting to me that she brought the rose bush home (thanks, GRRM!). You have that moment when she notices there's been a cutting taken from it fairly recently (had to have been Vincent - how many times did he go back to that balcony when Cathy was missing?) and then trimming back the dead growth once she had it home, determined to bring it back to life.
Things I love about Diana - a list by me:
She's most comfortable in ripped up jeans and oversized sweatshirts or sweaters. She wears boots most of the time. She doesn't seem to care if her hair is messy. She sits on the back on Cathy's couch instead of on the cushions. She's independent and can take care of herself. She doesn't wear makeup unless she's on the job, and even then, not always. Her loft is packed with books and plants and is cluttered but not dirty. She actually uses all those pots and pans in her kitchen. She's tenacious and curious and blunt, but she's also kind and compassionate. She feels things deeply. She looks like you could plop her down into the middle of the tunnel community and she'd fit right in.
The next 6 episodes in the arc are phenomenal. I wish I could watch all of them again for the first time. Don't forget: In the Forests of the Night directly after A Time to Heal!

First draft:
After the successful completion of the suiced mission with blowing up the uranium lab. The Navy made the unorthodox decision to not only promote Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell, but to place him in charge of Dagger Squad.
The Daggers proved themselves to be the most elite, skilled and deadly squadron around. The Naval brass knew that if they didn't keep them together they would lose a great squad of assets. They realized that by making Maverick their teacher not only will it keep Maverick in the sky and semi out of trouble, but he will lead the next generation to be as unorthodox and skilled in seemingly impossible maneuvers. What the brass didn't know was how close they would become. How they would form their own little family.
The Daggers was a squad consisting of seven extraordinary pilots. You had Maverick, who's role as the father figure in the group was quickly cemented. Maverick's godson Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw. In the sky he was a force to be reckoned with, he had a safer flying style then the rest. Yet he made up for it in skill level. His role was that of the older brother and life of the party.
Natasha 'Phoenix' Trace, she was always the voice of reason be it in the sky or on the ground. She had a soft spot for her WSO BOB. Her family role was that of the calm, collected and wise sister. Robert 'BOB' Floyd,  was Phoenix's eyes in the sky and ears on the ground. Everyone of the Daggers knew not to make a bet with them. He was the one person that every Dagger protected like one would younger brother. It was an unspoken rule that if you messed with BOB the Daggers will find you. He was the one person that knew the most of everything and everyone.
Reuben 'Payback' Fitch and Mickey 'Fanboy' Garcia are in separable.  The Daggers joke about them being twins. Both of them are the quiet geeks of the group, they can throw down in a fight if needed. In the the sky the twin Daggers where a threat in any mission that you needed to think on your feet. Javy 'Coyote' Machado is an excellent low-altitude pilot. He was the voice of reason for the team, if things got blown up you could know that he tried to stop it. While Phoenix would help improve and execute the hairbrained ideas.
Jake 'Hangman' Seresin, the orphan that hides behind masks and one half of the Chaos pair. Being able to pull stunts with the planes that the normal pilot struggled to do. Everyone jokes around about him being Maverick's son in all , but blood. The stunts he pulled both in the sky and on the ground were so similar to what Maverick did. Alexandra 'Chaos' Winchester, the main brain of the Chaos pair and the only member with an air of mystery, in the sky she was able to create chaos while successfully completing the mission. On the ground where there was mischief and explosions there Alexandra and Jake were to be found. So utterly intuned that you would think they had a seventh sightless sense for what the other was thinking.
The brass was rather proud of their squad, especially the Chaos pair. Their ability to be so intuned with each other made them the perfect team for a mission where radio silence was of the utmost importance.
This new mission that came across Cyclone's desk is an almost impossible mission. As much as he hated to admit it the only squadron that could pull this off was Dagger. The group they had to rescue had a way to find the most danger. This time they pulled civilians into their danger. In the captured group was a Naval aviator, two SEALS, an army Staff Sergeant, two teenagers and one adult civilian. The one thing they had in common was that by law they were a family.
*******
Maverick moved to brief his Squad on their next mission; he barely kept his fears under control. He was about to send his team on another impossible mission. Not just his team, but his kids, his family.  He hated every moment of this, yet he would not trust anyone else with their safety. This was the one element of his new position that weighed on his shoulders.
Hours speed by going over the mission. What was their objective was. To open a path for the rescue team. The specs of the mission were gone over in painstaking detail. Throughout the briefing Hangman and Chaos could be found having conversations without looking or speaking to each other across the room.
" Daggers ," Maverick started ", Alpha Team will be Hangman designated Alpha one and Chaos designed as Alpha two." The two were looking at each other smugly across the room at each other. Everyone knew they were having a conversation.
"Mav, Chaos wants to know who will be flying as our wingmen?" Hangman asked. That was just a thing the two did. Chaos had days she didn't want to speak, yet had this feeling that something important or strange was going to happen. Hangman would be her voice on those days.
"Bravo team will be Payback and Fanboy.  The spares for this mission will be Rooster designed Charlie and Delta will be Phoenix and BOB." Maverick looked at them, before turning to the screen.
"Daggers, let me show you who you will help to save."
As the pictures of the captured came up Hangman sprinted over to Chaos pulling her into a hug. The look of fear so out of character for her put all the Daggers on edge.
"Maverick, is that not Captain Dean 'Ghost' Winchester? The legendary stealth pilot?" BOB asked.
"That's right Captain Dean 'Ghost' Winchester is a Naval aviator. Commander Castiel Winchester and Captain Evan Winchester are SEALS. Staff Sergeant Eddie Diaz is with the Army reserves. The last adult is Sam Winchester and the children are Claire and Jack Winchester" Maverick explained pointing to each person's picture.
Hangman kissed Chaos' head as he started making a list on a piece of paper. The fact that his soulmate was giving him a list of items they may need for extra protection was not heard by the others.
Marvick just nodded his head before heading to ask Cyclone two questions.
A/N please give me feedback I want to improve on this. If it's not a first chapter let me know and I'll split it up. I just need help

WIP Wednesday
Tumblr media
My current writing in progress is a Trigun crossover fanfic based on the first anime series. My story really diverges in the episode "Escape From Pain" and that's where it starts. What I'm crossing it over with will come up in the next WIP Wednesday post.
Desire hadn’t hit him this strong in a hundred years. He wanted her strong thighs squeezing his hips as he buried himself in her. He wanted to lick the sweat off her pale skin and hear her moan his name as loud as she yelled it when she thought he had done something wrong. He wasn’t about to mention it to either of them, no act on it. Meryl would start hitting him again and she finally quit doing that.
But why her? Milly was closer to the physical type he found beautiful in women before, even though she hid her assets under her coat with her stun-bolt gun. But no, ever since the caravan stalled, it was Meryl’s presence that made his heart pound like he had jumped into the flying ship’s lift, made him want to tip her into his arms and explore her mouth with his.
She would slap his face off.
Nope, nope, nope. And he wasn’t a Steve to demand it from anyone. So the best thing to do was to nap behind his sunshades in their caravan trailer or in this mess tent that wasn’t being used by anyone else until the caravan moved again. Once they were moving, his equilibrium would come back and Meryl would just be annoying short insurance girl again. It had to. He had more patience than anyone on this dustball planet; he could wait for this to pass.
Then the owner of the caravan sent men to bring Vash the Stampede to him for a job proposal. So that plan (the very good plan that wouldn’t get him yelled at or hit) was ruined because Fondrique tatooed their security pass on the arm of a kid and that kid decided to bail on whole dirty trade and his father met the twenty million double dollar price tag Vash put on jobs he really didn’t want to do. He probably needed to raise that rate.
He climbed behind the wheel of a provided jeep, surrounded by the caravan’s crew, and Meryl jumped in before he could take off and leave her out of this. “What did that man ask you to do? It’s nothing nasty, I hope.”
The crew must have done an excellent job of keeping her out of earshot. He put his entire focus on driving and not manhandling the woman sitting next to him. When had she put on a sweet perfume?
“Hey, why don’t you say anything?”
And this is when the tall one would be handy as a distraction, but Milly wandered off hours ago. Vash kept his mouth shut because he wasn’t sure what would fall out of it right now.
“When are you going to stop this thing and say something?” Meryl reached for the ignition switch. Did she want to wreck them? Vash pushed her away from it and back in her seat. Now Meryl’s angry started coming out. “Alright then, you talk to me!”
The caravan crew following them was far enough away to not overhear. “He wanted a kill.”
Meryl blinked at him. “A kill?”
“That’s right.”
“And you accepted?”
“Yes.” There, she had answers. Now she would sit there and mull on what Vash the Stampede would do to her if he got money for it or truly pissed off. And he could find the kids without wrecking.
Her voice went haughty. “You’re nothing but a despicable outlaw just like I thought. Very well, if that’s the case, I have no choice but to execute risk prevention procedure.” She pulled out one of her many derringers and aimed it at his temple. Practically a point-blank shot at this distance.
You know, after a month of them looking for him with Vash trying to avoid them and three months of them stalking him, he really should have asked them what the hell their insurance society bosses considered risk prevention. She wasn’t going to shoot; he felt her indecision as what he just said argued with her observations of him. So he just kept driving.
She pulled her gun back with a huff. “Would you mind at least explaining why you decided to do this?”
“He loves his son more than his profits,” Vash said. “To give the boy he raised the freedom the boy wants will destroy the caravan. No big loss really, but everyone else who earns a profit on Fondrique’s slave trade won’t let the boy go and will chase him down to get their slaves into Fondrique.”
“So the boy has to die,” Meryl said.
“For the audience. And if the audience believes, the caravan owner can keep it going to the other stops on the route.”
“I don’t understand how Fondrique can have a slave trade. Slavery is illegal.”
“In the Seven Cities, sure. If the Federation Cavalry catches them, sure. But you’re in the Outer now.”
“The Six Cities,” Meryl corrected softly.
It was just the six for her whole life. Vash pushed on from that. “Right. Are you helping?”
