#hes a mentor and a trusted adult but still not her dad

every time i see art of boxleitner and wordgirl in an explicitly father-daughter scenario i sit there gritting my teeth and fists clenched like thats not her father thats not her father thats not her father thats not h
#like nothing wrong with it ig.... ? like ur not evil and ur not terrible for liking it#but she has a dad. a pretty good dad in fact (well minus that one ep. lalalaala)#but steven is her weird uncle at best and strange neighbor at worst#hes a mentor and a trusted adult but still not her dad#and i know this owes to the writing of the show and steven is everyones fav blorbo (mine included!) but i very much dislike how in so many#cases this white guy is becoming number one dad to this child of color as if she doesnt have a loving family at home#like ive been thru the owl house trenches and im kinda sick of white favoritism esp in the parental space#like in the case of toh how everyone really fawned over eda being a “good mom” to luz while camilla was highly criticized for a while before#everyone warmed up to her . and even then i dont think she was wholly liked#despite her also being a victim of ableism and potentially undiagnosed neurodivergence. her good intentions doesnt negate the harm she#caused but thats a good char exploration and plot driver between mother and daughter and its a really unique exploration of motherhood ive#seen in kids tv. and its smth i envisioned for wordgirl and her own parents who are good intentioned but still have room to grow for their#kids.#i can see why steven is popular as a father figure bc we see a lot of him and he is a guardian figure in the show that wg misses but#i still think that a big part of wg's char is someone who is split btwn being a normal girl and a hero. in this case steven is her#“superhero dad” (i say this non-seriously just to make a point) with her real parents representing her “normal” side#and exploring how she reconciles these experiences and even these adult figures in her life could be interesting!#but cutting out her parents and only having steven as a father or primarily showing him as being doting and loving of wg kind of feels like#its ignoring a huge point of conflict for wg and also kind of mischaracterizing steven as well

hi!! i have a platonic req for miguel x chaotic teen reader who has a bad relationship with her dad, just a man who lost his daughter and a girl who never had a proper father.. what could go wrong..(im a slut for found family)
𝐓𝐨 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐚 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞
Tumblr media
Pairing: Miguel O'Hara x Platonic!Reader
Summary: After a really bad fight with your father, you escape to HQ, the one place you can find solace. To take your mind off things, you go on a mission with Miguel, but it seems you're a little too in your head.
Warnings: Arguments, swearing, and violence in the beginning so be cautious.
A/N: Finally back with some good ol' hurt/comfort, and found family :3
✧✧✧✧✧
“I’m sick and tired of having the same argument with you over and over again!” you say, the anger rising in your veins as your frustration bubbles over. You blink harshly as you try to force the angry tears down, your father seething angrily in front of you.
“Ever since Mom died, you’ve been unbearable. I’m an adult, you can’t control my life anymore pretending like it's love when I know damn well you don’t give a flying fuck about me,” you say, pointing an angry finger at him.
“WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU’RE TALKING TO,” he shouts, stomping over and grasping your hair harshly as you let out a yelp.
“I give you a roof to live under, food to eat. I raised you, I am your father, and you think you can back talk me you brat?” he spits in your face, and your recoil in disgust.
It was always like this. He justified giving you the bare minimum as being a father, when the house you lived in was never really a home. Not after your Mom died, when everything fell apart.
When you became your world’s Spiderman.
“You were a spectator in my life, you were never truly my father,” you whisper harshly as his grip tightens on your hair. His eyes narrow at yours before he throws you to the ground harshly.
“Get out,” he says.
“W-what?” you ask, your body radiating with pain from the impact.
“GET OUT!” he shouts, leaning over you menacingly. “You think you’re so grown, then get the fuck out of my house because I am sick and tired of you. You don’t think I’m your father? Then I won’t be. You’re lucky your whore of a mother wanted to keep you around because in my eyes you were always my one worst mistake,” he says, and his words hit you like a freight train.
You knew he never loved you. Even before your Mom died he never truly seemed to like you around, only tolerated you because of how much your Mom adored you.
When she died, the substance abuse began. You practically raised yourself and learned how cold the world truly was. You never knew the love of your father, but even still, it hurt to hear him say what you always understood deep down.
“Fine,” you say softly, standing up and opening a portal to HQ. His eyes widen as he watches, but you don’t even give a damn anymore if he sees.
You were never going to see him again anyway.
In an instant, you were gone.
~
You emerge on the other side, right into the lobby of the Spider Society. A few familiar faces recognize you, waving in greeting. You wave back with a smile that doesn’t quite meet your eyes.
“Hey Lyla?” you call out, and she appears hovering over your shoulder with a grin.
“What’s poppin', buttercup?” she says cheerfully, and the corner of your mouth quirks up a bit.
“I was just wondering if Miguel was around,” you say, and she reappears in front of your face.
“He was actually about to leave for a mission, want me to tell him to wait up?” she asks, and you nod.
“That would be great, thanks,” you say, letting out a soft sigh of relief.
“Already done, you know where to find him,” she says, before throwing up a peace sign and disappearing.
Miguel was…you didn’t exactly know what to call him. A mentor? A friend? Guardian maybe?
All you knew was that (despite a rocky start), he was one of the few people across the multiverse that you truly trusted. He was harsh at times, rough around the edges and gruff…but he was like a light you’ve never known.
You both had your baggage, and you have both lost a lot in your lives, but maybe that’s why it worked. Whatever it was.
“Miguel?” you call out, looking around the monitoring room. He wasn’t on his usual platform which was odd. All of a sudden you get that familiar tingle on the back of your neck, and you whip around.
“HOLY GODS,” you exclaim as you see him hovering in the shadows like a wraith ready to leap out for the attack. “What are you doing?!”
He only chuckles at your expense, walking out with an amused grin on his face.
“Just making sure your reflexes are working properly,” he states simply.
“By giving me a heart attack in the process?” you say with an exaggerated frown, and he snorts.
“Don’t be dramatic, besides, you make stupid faces when you get scared,” he says, and you gasp offendedly.
“Well, you always look stupid so beat that,” you retort, and his hand grasps his chest dramatically.
“How could you? After everything we’ve been through, you think I look stupid?” he says, and you can’t help the breathy laughter that escapes. But before long the smile is replaced by a frown.
You could never really hide your emotions around him, he could always read you too well.
“You alright, kiddo?” he asks. He tried to mask his concern, but his eyes never lied.
“Never better!” you say, your tone overly sarcastic. Miguel eyes you with an expression that says ‘That’s a load of shit’, but you just brush him off with a nervous chuckle.
“You were about to go on a mission right? Can I come along? Cool, great, awesome,” you say, not even waiting for his reply. You press a button on the back of your neck that replaces your clothes with your Spider Suit and turn to look at him expectantly.
“Let’s just pack this guy up, in and out right?” you say, and he sighs.
“Fine, you can come along,” he relents, opening up a portal.
“You do realize I was going to come along either way, right?” you say, and he shakes his head knowingly.
“I know, you have the stubbornness of a bull but it helps me feel at least somewhat like the leader of the Society if I get the final say,” he says, his voice almost small which makes you laugh out loud.
“There, there,” you say, patting his shoulder as the two of your approach the portal together. “Everyone around here respects your authority,” you say with a grin before your mask covers your face.
“Except you,” he scoffs.
“Except me,” you say in turn.
~
“So what’s the deal with this anomaly?” you ask as the two of you emerge on the other side, not wanting to go in completely blind if you didn’t have to. You were reckless, but you weren’t completely stupid.
“Came in through a tear from Earth-848710. Has the power to manipulate metal to his advantage. At the height of his powers he has the ability to control even the iron in our blood so watch out,” he instructs.
“Ooh, freaky. What, like blood bending in Avatar: The Last Airbender?” you ask, and a confused expression washes over Miguel’s face which makes you giggle a bit.
“Like what?”
“Oh Miguel, don’t worry, we’ll binge watch it later, just you wait,” you reply before the back of your neck tingles, and you sling a web up onto the ceiling, yanking you up off the ground.
Just in time, because in the place that you once were stood a beam of metal impaled into the ground.
“Holy shit!” you yelp, and Miguel is swinging right up beside you.
“That’s our cue then. On your toes, spiderling,” he says, and you grin. You don’t exactly remember when he started saying that phrase to you, but it was standard procedure before every fight for him to say it now.
“You got it, old man,” you snicker, and he rolls his eyes before swinging away, allowing you to analyze the villain down below.
His pillars were optimal at a range, so close combat was likely your best bet at beating the guy.
“You gonna hang up there all day, little thing? C’mon, give me a real fight,” the villain calls up to you tauntingly, and you scoff. Of course, he was going to be annoying, just what you needed.
“I’m just trying to find the quickest way to take your annoying ass down and believe me, it will happen,” you retort, swinging down before levelling him with a kick into his gut before he could react. He groans out in pain as you see Miguel send out his webbing from the corner of your eye.
But the villain seemed to notice it as well, using a shard of metal to slice it away before it could reach him.
“You think it’d be that easy, I’ve spent my whole life fighting so-called ‘heroes’ like you,” he scoffs.
“All that says to me is that you’re old,” you snicker, and he scoffs before sending a beam of metal toward you again. You leap out of the way just in time, but the villain picks up the pace.
Ear-scrapingly loud screeches of metal can be heard from all around as he pulls support beam after support beam out of the building to throw at you and Miguel.
“Where’s all that confidence from earlier, little hero?” he calls out toward you. “I thought you were going to take me down, yet here I stand. Maybe you’re weaker than you thought,” he laughs, and you narrow your eyes in annoyance.
You know you shouldn’t lead with your emotions, it was a recipe for disaster in a job like this but you couldn’t help it.
“Enough of this-” you seethe before you’re interrupted.
“THE BUILDING IS FALLING APART,” you hear Miguel shout, and it was true. With each support beam that the villain ripped from the frame, the more unstable the place became. You had to get this guy packed up and pronto, before you all were crushed.
“I’m tired of your games, anomaly,” you huff, levelling him with a glare.
“Why so serious? Your parents never hug you enough as a kid?” the villain says mockingly. You knew it was only to get a rise out of you, every comment of his was, but with your emotions already on high, you immediately saw red.
Everything you had bottled up and shoved down bubbled over like lava, and you lunged for the villain with a snarl.
You threw punch after punch as he cried out in pain, unable to do anything with your webs trapping him in place.
That’s when you feel webs that weren’t your own wrapping around your shoulders, yanking you off of the villain. You yank at the bonds, desperately trying to escape the fluorescent red webbing.
“Let me go, let me go! Let me finish him, Miguel,” you cry out, but he ignores you for a moment.
He shoves the villain through the newly opened portal without a second thought, knowing Jess would handle it on the other side before turning back to you.
“Hey, hey, hey, hey!” he says as he grabs your shoulders, holding you in place as he retracts the webbing. You wriggle around in his grasp, chest heaving with each breath as tears brim over in your eyes. He looks at you with concern, just scanning over you to make sure you were alright before truly looking at you. It made you feel small as you struggled to hold back your sobs.
His eyes only softened, clicking your mask off before brushing his hand gently over your hair, and it only made you want to cry even more.
“C’mere kid,” he says, pulling you into a hug. You exhale shakily before hugging him back tightly, the tears you had been holding back all day finally falling down.
He was so warm…his arms embracing you gently in the way your real father never could.
You stood there in his arms for a few minutes, sobbing into his chest while he just held you gently. After a little while your sobs subsided, replaced with the occasional sniffle before you pull away, looking off to the side sheepishly.
“Do you want to tell me what’s really bothering you now, mi tesoro,” he asks gently, not wanting to push you to say something you didn’t want to.
You only sigh softly, glancing back only to see the worry in his eyes before relenting.
“I don’t have a good relationship with my father…you know this,” you smile sadly, and he only nods, waiting for you to continue.
“We got into a really bad argument before I came here, and well, I don’t really have a father anymore. He kicked me out,” you sniffle. “And I know it shouldn’t bother me as much as it does, because he never cared for me like a parent should but it still hurts Miguel,” you say, your eyes tearing up again. He smiles sadly at you, brushing away a tear gently.
“I’m sorry, mi ángel,” he says, not really knowing what else to say. “But don't blame yourself for feeling what you feel. You can't help it, and besides, losing all that you knew, even if it hurt you is still difficult," he says, and you nod knowing that what he said was true. It wasn't easy to accept though, so you don't say anything in response.
"...You do know you always have a home here, don’t you?” he says, and you laugh softly to yourself, not really knowing why.
“I do?” you ask, and he chuckles fondly.
“Always,” he says before his eyes grow distant for a moment. “…I lost Gabriella a long time ago, I never really recovered from that loss…I don’t think I ever will. But I do believe that the universe sent me you in turn. You won’t ever be her, I know that. But you don’t have to be, because I care for you like a child of my own regardless. You know that, don’t you?” he says, the genuineness of his words evident.
“Thank you,” you whisper, hugging him tightly once more. “I have never felt more safe in my life than when I’m with you," you admit.
He only smiles, and for a moment you think you can see the glimmer of tears in his red eyes but figured it must have been a trick of the light.
“Let’s head back to HQ, kiddo. We can figure out some place for you to stay, alright?” he says, and you nod before pausing for a moment.
“Could I…stay with you?” you ask hesitantly, and his eyes widen for a moment.
“If that’s what you’d like, it can be arranged,” he says before laughing softly. “My house has always been too big for just one person anyway.” Immediately your expression brightens as you skip toward the open portal, a large grin on your face.
“I would like that very much.”

@ghouljams Please help Lilac. She's tired enough to not realize Mom and Dad are fucking
Lilac woke to the sound of slamming. Sitting up, she looks around the dark room worriedly. It sounds like it’s coming from inside the cottage, even though the moon is still high in the sky and the wards are up. Slowly, she slides out of the bed Miss Witch was nice enough to let her use during her stay here. Wringing her hands nervously, Lilac hesitantly opens the door of her bedroom to peer out into the hall.
Nothing is there.
Swallowing nervously, Lilac shuffles over to her desk and moves around her grimoire and the tarot deck that she and Miss Witch are slowly working on together. Eventually, she finds the letter opener that Shop Keeper gave her on one of their more recent shopping trips, one made of iron with little pearls decorating the handle. Grasping it tightly, Lilac goes back to her door. Another series of loud thuds sounds through the cottage, making her jump.
Slowly, Lilac pads down the hall, her hand shaking as she figures out where the sounds are coming from. She freezes upon realizing it’s coming from Miss Witch’s room, fear making her stomach plummet.
“Miss Witch!” Lilac cries, running to the room and slamming the door open. Inside, Price looms over Miss Witch in her bed and both adults give Lilac wide eyed looks.
“Lilac!” Miss Witch cries back, shoving Price off her, “What are you doing up, sweetheart?”
“I-I heard slamming,” she replies, “Are y-you okay? He d-didn’t hurt you, d-did he?”
“No,” Miss Witch assures her, giving that nice smile that soothes Lilac every time, “No, he didn’t hurt me. I’m okay. You can go back to bed, okay?” Lilac hesitates, peering nervously at the frowning fae, before slowly nodding.
“G-Good night, Miss Witch,” Lilac repeats from earlier, before pauseing and adding, “Good n-night, Mister P-Price.”
“…Good night, little witch,” the fae offers back with a sigh. Lilac nods again and steps back out into the hall, but not fast enough to miss Mister Price mumbling, “Now, where were we?” There’s an abrupt sound of a hand against skin that makes Lilac jump and almost turn back, before deciding to trust her mentor.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Soap and Gaz are howling, Roach is wheezing, and Ghost snickers, as they all sit in Price’s bar. Price scowls, holding his whiskey on the rocks against the still red skin on his cheek. Normally, he’d have taken that as his Witch being a brat, but after the little one’s rush to check on her, he can’t really blame her.
“Yuck it up, y’ muppets,” he grumbles, scowling as he lowers his drink enough for a sip before raising it back up to keep the cool glass against his heated skin, “I c’n kick all you out.”
“But ye won’t!” Soap immediately argues with a shit-eating grin. Price grumbles, refusing to acknowledge that he’s even remotely soft on his boys (and his Witch, with the little one becoming important too, but he won’t admit shit). Instead, he sniffs and turns to Soap with a warning look as the younger fae peers over at Moon, again.
“Stop starin’ at m’ bartender,” he scolds, causing Soap to avert his eyes with a pout. Gaz chuckles as Roach claps the catch their attention.
‘You have no one to blame but yourself,’ the little shit signs, ‘Isn’t rule number one to not fuck while a kid’s in the house?’
“Naw,” Ghost pipes in, “That’s rule two for kids in the house. Rule one is no cursin’.”
“Why do I deal with you idiots?” Price groans as Soap and Gaz both start cackling again.
“Because you love us?” Gaz manages to get out between snickers. Price flips him the bird while trying to figure out how to get back into Witch’s bed while her little trainee is still around.

Some ATSV things that I love.
-SPOILERS AHEAD-
Gwen's world is gorgeous and the fact that it helps to convey emotions so well is awesome.
I can't say for certain, but the part where Lizard Parker's hand is sticking out of the rubble is similar to Green Goblin's hand sticking out when he died in ITSV. Funnily enough, that's when both Peters died.
Spot goes through a similar arc as Miles: they both have these abilities that they awkwardly try to utilize, fail often, and end up hurting themselves in the process. The difference is that Miles had a mentor and friends to help him through his trauma and loneliness and channel his powers for good. Spot had no one and, although he had a much easier grasp of his abilities and was far quicker to adapt to them than Miles, he channels his powers with hatred.
Uncle Aaron caring for Rio and Miles in Earth 42 after Jeff's death says more about him than he thinks.
Miles is such a tragic character in some of the less obvious but still hurtful ways: he's actively giving up his pursuit of art in exchange for science just so he can see his friends, he has no IRL friends, his Spider friends were not allowed and/or chose not to see him when they had the ability to, he's outcasted by the Spider Society actively, they KNEW he was an anomaly and chose not to tell him, him becoming Spider-Man was by chance, he learned his dad was "fated" to die, and he inadvertently caused Spot's creation (though, that was mainly Spot's own fault to be fair). It sucks, but he still keeps going because he's gonna "do his own thing." Absolute chad. I love the Spider peeps, even Miles' friend squad, but, respectfully, fuck 'em (minus Hobie, for obvious punk reasons).
This prevailing theme of "you can't just ignore your problems, you need to face them" is so good, and it's apparent through Gwen. She flat out says "I don't know how to fix this" when she reveals herself to her dad and just goes on a whole separate adventure, escaping her world and her problems, just ignoring it. And she's finally forced to confront her problems and herself when she's kicked out of the Spider Society, saying the same exact thing when she finds her dad again.
Gwen didn't kill Peter and she says as much to her dad, but I'm sure she feels guilty about it and that's probably why she tries to ignore it and not talk about it, denying that part of herself and further adding to the "denying her problems" and, by extension, herself.
This may be a personal thing, but it's interesting that characters seem more expressive and open about their feelings when the mask is on, rather than when they're off. They're more comfortable when they're hiding behind a mask, and are more guarded and insecure about themselves when the mask is off. Again, this might just be pure personal speculation.
Another great theme I love is that not everyone knows what they're doing, and that's okay. Kids, teens, adults. "No one has a personal handbook." And that's awesome and something that everyone needs to hear. And even the people that think they know what they're doing, don't (Miguel, Jess).
Following that, I love that it leads into "trusting yourself" and why Miles rejecting what everyone is saying how his story should go and doing his own thing hits so hard. He doesn't know if what he's doing is right, but he wants to do the right thing and he's going to fight hard to do it. Gwen has trouble realizing this because of another point I'm gonna bring up after, but she starts to understand that at the end as well. Same for Peter when he doubts he'll be a good father for Mayday. Do right for yourself through others. And, in a way, that works for Miguel as well in trying to do right by the multiverse (needs of the many vs. needs of the few), but it became twisted from trauma to the point of zealotry and a bad habit.
Gwen's mentors (Miguel and Jess, most likely) twisted her view of what the right thing to do is. She's learning from them what THEY think is the right thing to do, rather than trusting herself. She fell into a crowd that, indirectly, used her at her most vulnerable moment when she was the most doubtful about herself to become their asset. It's cruel, but she learned from it after she was kicked out. And it also shows that Peter really WAS a good mentor to Miles in comparison.
Miles inherits the Spider-Man trait better than any other Spidey in the Society. "What's important is not standing by while allowing someone to suffer or die because you do nothing. If you don't get that, then you don't know the first thing about being Spider-Man." He does this without a second thought and INSTINCTUALLY. The fact that everyone CHOOSES to sacrifice is bonkers, a sacrifice is only viable when there's no other option when taking action. Miles LEARNED from his inaction in the first movie, now he's practically teaching everyone by example.
I don't agree with everyone saying that he needs to sacrifice to be a true Spider-Man, when this movie and ITSV before it is a critique of the Spider-Man mythos: that a Spider-Man is only a true hero until they have lost someone dear to them. Miles is an anomaly, and I feel like this only adds to him being the outlier if he goes BEYOND the curse and is able to save both his dad and the multiverse. If Raimi's Spider-Man could do it, so can he. And Gwen's dad is now alive and well, too! Not everything is set in stone, even Lyla said as much: "That's what the model says..."
Rio's speech to Miles is some of the most heartwarming, genuine, motherly writing I've seen in a long time and is a top highlight in the movie for me. And I think this is what kept Miles going through his escape from the Spider Society, standing firm against everyone saying he didn't belong and that he was going to get home safe and sound like she wanted.
"Meanwhile, the cakes take a ride..."
Also, the super long quiet moment after Gwen leaves and Rio is there to console him is such a nice breather. Allowing the film to soak and the characters to breathe is awesome, just seeing Miles react to seeing his friend leave with simple silence against the NY ambience is such under utilized filmmaking. LET FILMS BREATHE AND TAKE THEIR TIME.
Miguel's twisted view isn't without merit and I understand where he's coming from. He's taking these steps because he was forced to have this narrow-minded view of saving the world and what it means to be Spider-Man because of the trauma he experienced, that you NEED to sacrifice in order to save everyone else. His steps to do it are messed up and bordering antagonistic (especially when Miles is in the picture), but he's doing it for the right reasons (he watched an entire universe become erased because of his selfishness). But it's the wrong execution. He's a better written villain with understandable motives than Thanos, in my eyes.
And I really love that Miguel was willing to talk down Miles about what was at stake, to reason with him and empathize with him about the cost of his choices and where it lead him ("Trust me, I know") before he...jumped to an ultimatum.
The music fucking slaps, and I don't just mean in terms of melody and sound and all that. It tells a story as well without the movie, it has its themes perfectly interwoven (like a web heheh) together and creates a thematically rich soundtrack. Pemberton can create so many moods in one track effortlessly it's insane, all the way from heartwarming, to terrifying, to brutal, to epic, to heroic, to fun. Top marks.
"I'm gonna take everything from you, like you took everything from me. See you back home...Spider-Man" is terrifyingly delivered and a chilling line.
I don't need to say anything more about Hobie than anyone else has, but I severely misjudged him like Miles did and I love being proven wrong. Especially with the discussion about him being more brotherly towards him. I also liked that he saluted Mayday and knows how to handle a baby, looking out for the kids and all like he does.
Addendum, seeing Miguel being able to handle a baby as well is heartwarming and heartbreaking for obvious reasons.
The part where Hobie uses his legs to block Miles from going almost feels like he's trying to warn Miles not to go any further, that it's not gonna end well. Gotta love Hobie, man.
Peter's little speech to Miles is really nice, and something everyone needs a reminder of, too. "Bad things are gonna happen, but good things happen, too." It's short, simple, and sweet. Although, in the context of it basically being "yeah, your dad is gonna die, but something good will come from it, too," that's pretty messed up.
Seeing Miles' borderline evil smirk when he starts sapping Miguel's electricity is wild.
In relation to that, Miles has grown up so much. You can see that he's been able to calm himself down more and have better control of his abilities. You can especially see it when he's facing 42 Miles: his eyes relax, he steadies his breathing, and he has complete focus. That's when his powers come out. I love watching my boy work.
Side note to that last part about 42 Miles, our Miles clearly learned from Peter when he tore his gloved finger to use his powers: "Watch the hands, not the mouth."
Miles' "good bye" to Gwen is so sad, but you can hear he's grown from it. From them. He sounds so heavy hearted and disappointed. Again, I need to reiterate to his friend squad, really uncool, guys.
When they were going through every Spider person's captain death tally and there was Hobie's, his reply ("Yeah, what of it?") is heartbreaking.
In ITSV as well, but I love how they animate hugs in this movie. And I love how often it happens, too. They're quick and tight, but look and probably feel as warm as they look. It's a very affection heavy movie.
"The 'Spider Verse'...huh. That's...stupid" is such a dickhead thing to say, but it's so hilarious. It feels like something that would only be utterable in a comic book setting. It works.
That twist at the end is expertly crafted and I've talked about it in another post, and that cliffhanger (although painful to us viewers) is a perfect way to cap off that it's the beginning of the end and that all of the players are set, the pieces are in place. An Empire Strikes Back equivalent but in glorious comic book form, tone and all.
Anyway, movie good. I probably have more to say and maybe I'll make another post when I think more about this movie (I inevitably will). But yeah, I had to get this out of my head. Thanks.
Also, side note, Spider-Cat and Pter Ptarker should be named Peter Purrker and Petyrannosaurus Prex. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
Edit: I'm sorry, I keep updating this post thinking that it's the last and then I think about something else that I love and have to put it in. This movie is brain rot.
Edit 2: I made another post because I can't help myself.

I read a fanfic of Tommy being a girl dad and it gave me an idea….so i’m going to expand the Dad Tommy trope.
Tommy has 3 Kids
2 daughter, 19 & 17
1 Foster Son, 18
For the daughters I have two scenarios in mind
1) He got a women pregnant - “IMO” S2 Tommy gives of the vibe that he slept around a lot. Like we know his a smooth talker, and those eye must have had people hooked. So it wouldn’t surprise me that pre-S2 Tommy (think in/after the army), could have managed to get someone pregnant. and knowing Tommy he would have tried to make things work for the sake of the child’s future, given what his own childhood was like. I don’t think tommy and the women would have ever been in a proper relationship because Tommy would have equated his undiscovered closeted-ness to lack of love/feeling for her, but they would keep a fwb situation going on as a stress relief/scapegoat, which ultimately ends up with her getting pregnant again w/ baby #2. They are now best friends and have a great co parenting relationship.
2) He was a godfather turned father - When he was still in the Army, he meet his bestfriend (will call him Timmy). They had similar childhoods and bonded over that (Probably his co-pilot) There crew knew them Timmy and Tommy or Double Trouble. There bond was so strong that when Timmy had his second child, he asked tommy if he would be both the girls godfather. Tommy said yes, and life went on. It wouldn’t be until 4 years later where Timmy and his wife die in a car accident. (the girls were not in the car). Over night Tommy lost his best friend and became the guardian of 2 girls.
(I lean more toward scenario 1 but i’m still fleshing out the details for scenario 2.)
For the Son I only have the idea that Tommy meet him at a Big Brother/Mentor program. I think given the backstory Lou gave, Tommy wouldn’t want other children to go through what he went through. So he signed himself up for a big brother mentor program. He meets this kid that totally encapsulated everything Tommy was going through as a teenager. Not the having the best home life, quiet and reserved, not a lot of friends, falling through the cracks at school, etc. Tommy saw himself in this boy. So Tommy gives this kid a support system, he wished he had as a kid. They meet in the program when the boy was 15/16. This boys actually parent are unreliable at best. Dads in jail and mom occasionally abuses drugs. Tommy takes the time to prove to this kid that he a trust worthy adult, and after some time the kid see tommy as a father figure. This kid basically spends most of his time with Tommy to the point that tommy was granted temporary guardianship of him while his mom was sent to rehab to get clean. When the kid turn 18 he permanently moves in with Tommy.
Ok what do y’all think???

It’s been two years and I am STILL mad at the ending of Wonder Egg Priority. Maybe enough to brainstorm a better ending for them.
-Starting with episode 10, Kaoru’s trauma is shown in much less graphic detail. Rather than outright assault, his trauma consisted of realizing that a trusted mentor just viewed him as Girl Lite after he made that person his only support system, and his mentor's romantic/sexual intentions towards him aren't made explicit. It tones down the graphic abuse, while also creating a character foil to Momoe, who feels like girls see her as Boy Lite and constrain her to their fantasies and gender roles. Momoe is more explicitly trans, and the episode makes a point that Acca and Ura-acca don’t actually know shit. Kaoru’s suicide wasn’t a “feminine” one, it just got lumped in with the rest because he wasn’t openly out and was buried under his deadname.
-the friends that frill created, rather than. You know. Brutally murdering and traumatizing anyone? They just show up as vaguely unsettling messengers who aren’t supposed to be there. And they start asking pointed questions. Why was Kaoru in the egg? Can the suicides of boys and girls really be separated so easily? Momoe is a gnc trans girl. She experiences gender differently than her cis friends. And the experience leaves her shaken in her faith of the Accas. She’s completed the game, but it’s bittersweet. She has closure, but the dead cannot truly be brought back to life. All that can be done is to create a parallel world, another chance for them to live in, and to say goodbye.
-Rika completes her game, and gets to say she’s sorry. She realizes that eating food in public without being mocked? That’s basically thin privilege. Her arc ends with her asking her mom to make her some comfort food. Frill’s friend asks why, exactly, Rika said what she did, abused her position of power. We see her manager, a grown ass adult man, and the silhouette of her father.
-Neiru isn’t a robot AI because that makes no fucking sense. Instead, she parallels Frill, as a “created girl” who was born to fulfill expectations. It’s revealed that her sister stabbed her and committed suicide because the expectations made her snap, because she wanted to destroy the image of the “perfect girl” as a final act of spite. She apologizes to Neiru, for not seeing her as a person but a tool.
-Ai completes her game, and gets closure with Koito— their friendship was kind of fucked up and gay in the way that repressed thirteen year old girls with codependence issues tend to be, and they actually talk about that. Koito reveals that their teacher strung her along, pushed them apart, and she committed suicide because of the guilt that she’d been complicit in Ai’s grooming.
-Ai tells her mom that she doesn’t feel safe around her teacher. Her mom believes her, and Momoe slowly comes to terms with the realization that she’s been putting her uncle on a pedestal because he was supportive of her transition, but she needs to believe her fellow women. The dude doesn’t go to jail but there’s a marked difference in how the girls talk about him.
-Frill and Himari get to take back their narratives. Frill is literally just a baby created by misogynists, and she decides to crawl out of the basement fridge and tell her dads “yeah I didn’t kill your daughter. She realized that she was just a replacement, that you people saw a daughter as a replaceable toy to make for fun, and she couldn’t take it. Anyways have a nice life lol” and chops off her hair, leaving it in a pile on their doorstep.
-The series ends with the girls taking control of the magical egg gacha— something thematic about girls supporting girls and taking back control from the institutions run by men who exploit their pain and grief for money. There’s a timeskip where Ai graduates school and starts working from home, Momoe gets gayer and starts building up a transgender support network, Rika moves away from home into her own apartment and starts rebuilding her fraught relationship with her mother, and Neiru is shown running the egg gacha for free, and with explicit warnings to the girls who come looking for closure.
-The temptation of death is posited as a human urge, something that exists at rock bottom, but one that teenage girls are especially vulnerable to in a society that will take advantage of them. And warriors of Eros? Those are the ones who choose love. Ai.
anyways. I think that ties up all the character arcs and plot threads? It would be nice if canon had given us this but ah well. I can dream

ok writing thoughts now actually @trashghetti-v this is for u
vat7k is very much varian’s journey and not just his journey finding his mother but also reconnecting and reconciling with parts of himself
through yong, nuru, and hugo
yong is the young, excited, accident prone scientist that varian once was. he wants to make his family proud. sure he blows things up from time to time but he just wants to help. he’s sweet and genuine and is just trying so hard to help
obviously varian at the start of the series. blowing things up but not meaning to, trying to improve other’s lives. trusting and caring and working so hard for others.
and then you have nuru, the young leader who also wants to help, but cannot. she has to sit and watch as her kingdom is destroyed every year and rebuilt, knowing that there’s a better way to deal with this but being barred from trying by the adults who’re supposed  to be handling the problem but all they do is ignore it
this one is admittedly my favourite bc it’s just so much like him when the rocks first started. he wanted to study them, to find ways to help and he could if just given time and trust. in his eyes, his dad was just letting his village die, was lying to the king and the people, covering up mistakes. just like nuru’s parents. two people wanting, willing, able to help. made powerless by people who ‘knew better’
and last you have hugo, the outcast, the misfit, the person who was failed by his own kingdom so spectacularly that he resorted to this; a life of crime. from an industrial kingdom of such prosperity, it’s almost insulting.
he’s varian’s rejection. Hugo is the guy that nobody helped, and when they did help (Donella, Andrew) it wasn’t the help that they needed. After the snow storm, nobody checked up on varian. He mentioned how people assumed he attacked rapunzel, and treated him poorly because of that. They’re just two misfits, two people cast aside
and not only does varian meet all these people, so different but also so similar to himself, but he has the opportunity to help. he has the chance to be the person he wished he could’ve had for him in those moments.
for yong, he gets to be the mentor, he gets to be someone who encourages him, leads him in the right direction. and when he makes mistakes, he doesn’t yell or get upset, but instead he just gently tries to show him safer ways of doing things. better ways.
and for nuru, he gets to be a confidant, an advisor of sorts. he might not be high on the pole, but he still works in a castle. he knows how politics are. and he encourages her to keep trying, no matter what her parents say. he assures her that no, she’s not foolish for trying, and adults aren’t always right. and sometimes change needs a bit more force.
then hugo, oh boy hugo.
varian starts out thinking that he’s doing what he should, he’s giving the guy a second chance, he’s not above giving people second chances. he gets annoyed with him but he’s trying to get along, trying to keep him from his old ways.
but that’s not when they start to click. they start to click when varian freely gives hugo the actual thing he needs, the thing varian needed when he was cast aside and bitter.
he gives him kindness and compassion and love. he becomes a friend, and later on a partner. he looks at things from hugo’s point of view. doesn’t try to change any of his bitterness, he embraces him as he is, because he comes to learn what kind of a life he’s had. thinks about himself, how different things could be if one person, just one person, had been kind to him. hadn’t tried to talk him out of his anger, but helped him find a better way to let it out.
and that’s when he starts falling in love with hugo, when he isn’t trying to control him or reign him in.
and it’s nice, it’s good, i love him and i love them ok good night please feel free to add ur thoughts i need to talk about this

So why is Oz being given the excuse of "being 14" when he isn't but RWBY are being demonized despite being only a few years older and having endured massive trauma?
I don't think you're being very even-handed here.
Thing is, I'm not demonizing team RWBY. I 100% see where they're coming from and why they're so upset about being lied to.
And I'm not excusing Oz's actions, it's just not as simple as "Oz lied for no reason about something extremely important"
Thing is, Oz had JUST been betrayed by someone who he genuinely thought was a friend (Leo). He was much more guarded and closed off because of this, reasonably so, and likely took it harder because this isn't the first time he's been betrayed.
And before someone says "He should have told them from the beginning!"- Oz barely knows team RWBY/RNGR/JNPR. For the entirety of the very short time he's known them, he's been their adult teacher and mentor, as well as leader. He's only known them for maybe 2 years at most, and again, at least HALF of that was as their teacher/Headmaster. He likely hadn't interacted much with them during the Beacon Era either, given he was their Headmaster and thus was busy. So technically he's only known them on an 'even' level for maybe a few months by v6, and even then he was a mentor figure.
So, there was absolutely NO reason why Oz would've trusted team RWBY/JNPR with that kind of information. If he couldn't even trust his own friends with that information, why would he trust a bunch of teenagers he hardly knows??
And before anyone says that Oz should've told them because he 'dragged them into it', reminder that it was QROW that told ruby that their contacts thought something was going to happen in Mistral. Qrow was the one who told RNJR the basic rundown of the truth that he knew. And no, Oz admitting Ruby into Beacon early doesn't count because she was going into Beacon anyways.
Also about Oz technically being 14- he no longer has an adult body. His mind might be that of an adult, but he possesses an underdeveloped child (unwillingly). Oscar is his current host, and Oz possesses EVERY part of him, including his brain. Teenagers brains are underdeveloped in certain parts, which results in irrational decisions and emotional immaturity. It's likely why Oz hid himself away after being verbally and physically attacked and cornered.
I personally think Oz wouldn't have run away had Yang and Qrow not attacked him. This was the ONLY time we've so much as seen Oz visibly upset, especially upset enough to cry. His trauma was laid bare in front of him without his permission; it literally showed the death of his children and how he was an alcoholic for lifetimes afterwards.
And, for the record, I DO NOT BLAME RUBY for using Jinn to get answers. I see why she did so, and honestly I would've done the same thing. She had no idea WHAT Jinn was going to tell her, so I can't fault her for asking the question.
However, I do judge Yang and Qrow for how they treated Oz, and by extension, Oscar. Yang was extremely fast to get hostile (I don't blame her entirely for it), and Qrow full on punched a 14 year old boy in the face and never apologized for it (oscar visibly was in a lot of pain when Oz dipped). Yang has always been hostile towards Oz, even getting mad over him giving the branwen twins the ability to turn into birds (willingly on their part). Yang seemed to take the word of Raven with seemingly no issue despite her history (or lack thereof) with Raven when it comes to Oz.
Blake, really the only issue is that she didn't try defending Oz considering Salem and Adam are extremely similar characters.
Weiss only indirectly compared Oz to her dad, which... is still a little yikes, but I don't have an issue with her.
Again, I don't have an issue with Ruby either.
And, saying it again, I see WHY they were hurt by Oz lying/keeping the truth a secret. I'd be pissed too if someone I thought was a friend/mentor lied to me too.
I hope I got my thoughts on the subject across clearly. I highly doubt anyone will read this, let alone agree considering people have such a string hatred for Oz lol. But if you do read it, and at least consider my opinion, I'd be happy anyways even if I'm still disagreed with. 🤷‍♂️

i know it's easy to say "oh, x is like the team dad!" or "y is z's mom," but those interpretations in general never really stuck with me, especially when the characters are close in age like "vector is espio's dad" when he's only four years older.
for pn, i never really saw hollis as the mom of the interns - she's their teacher! their boss, too. she cares for them as a mentor and does everything she can to keep them safe. i think she draws a good line in the sand for them, and based on how she views family, she doesn't want to perceive them as her kids.
it's a similar, but different vein for morris and milla, where she's another treasured mentor figure, not really a mom. those cut lines serve as him wanting to impress her because he's thrilled to have her as his teacher (which is just another part i wish wasn't cut because those clips were very sweet for his character and smooth the "cool guy" edge that he has). milla definitely views the campers as younger than they are, just look at how she sees raz. based on her own trauma, she views any psi cadet or intern under her wing as a kid she has to nurture, but she doesn't perceive or present herself as their mother. same for sasha and raz, in which he sees himself in raz and wants to help bring out raz's potential and see him grow up because raz will, and always, have his real parents in augustus and donatella, in general, for all the interns, they can always be trusted adults in their life, people to rely on, without explicitly slapping on a label like "sasha's is raz's other dad."
and obviously, there are definitely dynamics that can be read as familial and earn those labels like, in a different example, the bond between sonic and tails is very clearly meant to be interpreted as brotherly. adam can be seen as a more positive big brother figure to raz, compared to the complexity that raz shares with dion, who harbors a lot of mixed feelings and anger for raz running away and their father suddenly dropping his long-running anti-psychic sentiments (that, you know, dion has been forced to hear all his life and internalized because of his father). it's definitely a nicer relationship because raz doesn't have any issues with adam, while he has a life-long history with dion. as such, both dynamics are equally unique when reading into raz.
of course, this isn't me saying, "you can never interpret them as familial." otto can definitely be seen as gisu's cool grandpa mostly because of how each character acts individually. maloof might be mikhail's boss, but there is a brotherly aspect to their mafia boss/henchman dynamic. i'm sure lili has come to see sasha and milla as extended relatives with how long they've been in her life, like uncle and aunt figures. raz still idolizes sasha and milla in the post-game, like a kid who made his "parents" proud, even though he doesn't see them that way. the psychic seven are quite literally the found family trope but without any labels attached - no one is the "mom" of the group, etc. fanon wise, the "you guys wanna split a cab?" group has a variety of interpretations. it's just nice that there are a multitude of dynamics presented in the series that can't just be boiled down to "oh, hollis acts like such a mom to the interns."

I NEED the waifus reacting to the S/O with a Lunagaron pup. Those things are too damn fluffy and cute for their own good
Sure thing!💖 XD
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Waifus (Kyle, Reverto, Cheval, Alwin, Lilia, Ena, Kayna, and Avinia) with an S/O who has a Lunagaron Pup
Kyle
-A lunagaron pup is born full of fluff to help keep it warm in harsh and cold environments. That is, until their icy abilities come through and they lose the fur. To Kyle, you having a lunagaron baby doesn’t surprise him. However, don’t expect him to help out much with it. Even if he loves you, he’s still a hunter and you are the rider. The pup is your responsibility.
-But then your lunagaron gets attached to Kyle. It starts to follow him around everywhere and wants to play whenever possible. Kyle acts like he hates it, trying to shoo the pup away. But in private, you’ve viewed him playing with the baby monster. From then on, you teasingly call him “dad” to your little wyvern pup.
Reverto
-He’s gotten the honor to fight a lunagaron before, so to see one when it’s just a pup is absolutely adorable. Cue the big tough hunter cooing over the fluffy little baby as it just stares at him. Reverto doesn’t think too much of it if you ask to help him because he’s helped you with monsties in the past. So, he will gladly take the responsibility of helping the lunagaron.
-That said, the little monster takes advantage of that. Reverto becomes a chew toy to the little guy, but he doesn’t push the baby away. Instead, Reverto takes pride in it being able to trust him. Still, you get madly embarrassed when the hunter announces himself as a father without even explaining the context behind the situation. Now everyone thinks you’ve have actual human children. Thanks, Reverto.
Cheval
-Like Kyle, Cheval isn’t so surprised that you managed to find a lunagaron pup. He wants to hear all about how you met it, even though the thought of you facing an adult worried him greatly. Admittedly, Cheval finds the pup adorable, and you can find him giving it plenty of attention. Yes, he will gladly assume responsibility for it. After all, he treats it like it’s your child.
-Rathi’s intense maternal instincts come in handy here. Sometimes a baby monster is hard to handle, but that’s where the rathian comes in. When you or Cheval are in a bind, Rathi swoops in to sort things out. She kind of becomes a mentor to the lunagaron, who listens to her really well for some reason. This is really like having an actual baby because you and Cheval can go out together while Rathi watches the little monstie.
Alwin
-Alwin is really practical about the situation. While you treat the lunagaron like a baby, Alwin treats it like a monstie. He doesn’t get too attached to the pup, even though it gets rather attached to him. Catch the wyverian walking around Rutoh with a little lunagaron stumbling behind him. While Alwin gets flustered by its obvious affection for him, Shaulk finds it incredibly amusing.
-Eventually, with your encouragement, starts to bond more with your lunagaron. Soon, you find Alwin stroking his hands over its soft fur while it cuddles in his lap. He may leave the training to you, but he will gladly watch it if you need a break. However, his entire facade will shatter if you call him your pup’s “daddy” in front of others.
Lilia
-Of course, she is enthralled by the appearance of a lunagaron baby. Mostly because the Guild doesn’t know too much about the life cycle of these wyverns due to their aggression and intense habitats. She takes every opportunity to be with your monstie, bonding with it and learning its behavior. That said, she only does so with your permission.
-Soon, your pup learns to like Lilia, giving her little puppy kisses now and again because, as you say, she’s its mother. You can catch her with a little journal, trying to draw little sketches of your lunagaron as it runs around with something it’s definitely not supposed to have in its mouth. Cue you and Lilia chasing it all over to get it.
Ena
-Ena bonds with all monsters because of her kind and soft nature. This is now different with your lunagaron puppy, who almost seems to like her more than it likes you. Ena spoils the baby rotten, brushing its fur to giving it treats to just letting it sleep with her. At this point, you wonder if it will let her ride it when it’s older.
-She doesn’t mind being the more maternal one in this relationship, making sure your monstie’s needs are all met while pampering it as well. I mean, Ena does the same for you, so she doesn’t mind doing it to your monsties, especially when they are so cute. In fact, your lunagaron pup is probably the one monstie that you’ve seen her be so cuddly with.
Kayna
-At first, she doesn’t even know what it is. All she sees is you with one of the cutest baby monsters she’s ever seen. Kayna only grows more curious when she sees its a lunagaron. Cue her ruffling its little puppy fur as it squirms to get away. Yes, your monstie is kind of afraid of her, but not in a fearful way, if that makes sense. It seems to enjoy annoying her, is what I mean, much to Avmar’s amusement.
-Speaking of Avmar, the velocidrome pays no mind to whatever pickle his rider got in. In fact, he seems to disappear when this lunagaron gets into mischief with Kayna. Luckily, you are there to put a stop to things before scolding your monstie to not put his “mom” through anymore turmoil than she needs to go through.
Avinia
-Living in Loloska, Avinia meets many a monster that’s adapted to the cold. However, this is the first time she’s met a lunagaron. Of course, Avinia being Avinia, will immediately be drawn to its floof. In fact, she won’t even be listening to you as she is so distracted by its cuteness. Her coddling is what makes your lunagaron adore her.
-This gets to the point where Frostfang gets jealous, but he knows better than to attack the baby, so he just gets all pouty. However, Avinia has natural maternal instincts, and does a great job at juggling time between her “babies”. Sometimes even you get jealous with how much time she spends with your lunagaron. However, she’s also quite good at making time for you.

Tumblr media
if you look at the comic, zed had a considerable number of people with him when he went back to the temple for the tears. he does suggest in the comic "most of my followers are boys, really. like kayn, raised by the war." the order definitely has some other adults, men and women that, like zed, left the kinkou (or who joined them during the war, when they worked with the navori brotherhood more closely)
zed is the order's master and leader, but he isn't the only. there are others who have the title of master, though they still answer to him. in lor, there's mistress shi, for example, and i'm sure there are others.
not every new yánléi pupil, then, is necessarily studying under zed. this little guy in lor, for example, is implied to be shi's pupil instead. other cards, like ren's, don't make it clear who's their mentor (though i'd assume ren is one of zed's too).
other than kayn and ren, he had jovn and tarak (both killed by jhin in the comic), nakuri (from the blade of millennia story), the still unnamed shadow assassin (who has a dying line saying master and the interaction with zed where he calls her an apt pupil), possibly royce (difficult to say, but he was also a noxian child soldier who apparently went to the order bc of kayn, so i'm assuming he went to kayn's dad to be adopted too), and yusari (who specifically wanted zed to train him because of what the yánléi did against the vastaya) as pupils. there are probably more, and some that likely weren't picked up as kids — but to any that were, i do think zed is a father figure on top of a teacher.
there's a part of the comic's narration where he says "most of my followers are boys, really. like kayn, raised by the war. when the foreigners invaded, after they lost everything, they became warriors. they know nothing else. this is what separates them from normal people." i think, in a way, it highlights that these kids are fit for the order because war was all they've ever know. they were already victims of terrible things that shaped who they are, and in turn are capable of doing the terrible things his order needs to do. at the same time, it is directly related to how much he still cares — it's the kids raised by war, who have nothing and no one, that he's picking up and giving a home and a purpose to (and imo, and in regards to my portrayal, he does care about them, they're not just tools, he values them while they're there and does mourn their losses when he loses them).
kayn is obviously closer to him than any other (he trusts him with so much and while i think he cares for all of them i don't think any of the others is on the same level. you know, how like when you're either the eldest or the most responsible and a parent sort of relies on you for some things.), but he's not the only one zed would consider his child. but i imagine not every pupil would have this sort of relationship with him necessarily, either — some might just end up forming a closer bond with other people in the order while still respecting and looking up to zed as their master. i am standing by that last post and saying the shadow assassin girl is also his daughter though.

He-Man/She-Ra Modern AU? Any version you'd like :)
Thanks for the ask!
I’ll use 2018 She Ra and 2002 He Man (mainly because I can’t see Duncan as being one of the younger members of the cast in this AU)
1. Adora lives with her twin brother, Adam, and her parents Marlena and Randor. They have a dog, Swift Wind, and a cat, Cringer, because the twins refused to share a pet. They attend the same high school but have their own groups that they hang out with. Those groups sometimes interact but it’s rare.
2. Adam’s group consists of him, Teela and a bunch of adults that mentor the two along with Teela’s dad, who’s Randor’s business partner. Teela is in a lot more physical clubs and Adam is in more intellectual clubs. The two have been best friends for years and Adora does like Teela but she’s rarely at home so Teela doesn’t see much of her.
3. Adora ended up with a gang called the Horde until she was fourteen. She left the gang for two reasons. One, her parents found out and grounded her for months and threatened to do worse if she returned. Two, they were going to rob innocent people and Adora knew it was wrong. Starting high school, she joined a whole different group but still kept in touch with a few people from the Horde. She has yet to tell her parents or Adam that she and Catra are dating.
4. The Horde is a gang led by Hordak and Shadow Weaver. They took Adora in because she felt ignored by her family and taught her how to survive on the street. For initiation she had to spend a week living on the streets with only a small bag of whatever items she wanted. Her parents called the police to go looking for her but she finished her initiation. She and Catra became very close friends and she bonded with Scorpia, Entrapta, Kyle, Lonnie and Rogelio. The gang stayed active even after Adora left but cooled down on making their younger members do the more illegal activities after Adora left.
5. (Honestly didn’t know what to do with Skeletor but here’s something) Skeletor is Randor’s brother and angry at him for getting the majority of the business then cutting him out. Randor argues that Skeletor’s plan would have plunged the company into bankruptcy and put them up to their necks to lawsuits. Skeletor was the one who introduced Adora to the Horde. He’s less of a big evil villain and more just in the background. Adora and Adam know they can’t trust him but he’s still their uncle so they talk to him, especially when they’re mad at their parents.

did a bit of doveclan and ive got two cats im attached to now- mistletail and tempestfreckle
mistle joined the new clan with his niece, tempest, in hopes of raising her in a stable community. he’s not much of a fighter and much prefers to stay back and construct the camp and help raise the kittens. even tho he cant be one in the game, im considering him a den dad. described as “loving”, hes a super sweet guy who anyone can confide in….
except for tempestkit. she’s a hard nut to crack. despite her young age, she’s already faced a lot of trauma. she, her mother, and her uncle had spent their lives as loners, with her mother having been abandoned once she got pregnant, and her uncle ditching their twolegs to help his sister. tempest was the only one of her litter to survive, and each cat struggled to find enough food to sustain one another, especially since mistle and her mom grew up never having to hunt in the wild. the adults ended up getting into several scrapes with other cats to steal their own prey. tempest’s mother didnt survive one of these scuffles, and poor tempest and mistle had to witness her death. mistle decided to risk leaving twolegplace in favor of the grotto, despite still not being able to hunt. several times he considered leaving tempest at a twoleg’s door for her own safety, but ultimately didnt trust twolegs because of what happened to his sister.
tempestkit was withdrawn and antisocial. she clung to her uncle, but didnt make conversation with burntpaw and finchpaw, the cats closest to her in age. she seemed intimidated by most cats in the clan in general. but what constantly terrified her was the idea of fighting anyone. she’d seen how brutal fights were and the tragic outcomes they could bring. she didnt want to take away a loved one like her mother’s killer had done. and call it selfish, but she didnt want to die on the battlefield
so she became a medic instead. her relationship with her mentor pinefreckle was testy. pinefreckle was an adventurous and mouthy cat who spoke her mind, while tempestpaw avoided small talk whenever she could and seemed to only care about her training. this frustrated pinefreckle, who wanted a more fun apprentice than this. but she slowly got tempestpaw to lower her guard and tempestpaw considered her one of her closest friends. pinefreckle also gets close to mistletail and insists he joins in on training…. so he can guard them… yeah
pinefreckle names tempestfreckle after herself cause shes a bit self centered and considers herself the one who changed tempest for the better…. tempest doesnt care for it, but shes glad pinefreckle cares.

HELLO so. for the dystopian au...
what are the mc's ages? your obviously still figuring out the timeline so it might be hard to say, but do you have any ideas?
and, bc i legally have to ask this one, where are the ninja and co? r they under the control of the overlords army or like. vigilantes? feel like you could do a lot with them here fr
ik the venom is infecting him but PLEASE tell me garma would never hurt his kids please my heart will break <3
what happened to rumis biological parents? did they still die in the g.d attack but at a different time bc. idk timeline shenanigans?
how are our kids gonna react whenever they learn about the gn prophecy? is morro still gonna go villain on us?
and, the two most important questions to ME, does morro see wu as a father figure, and do lloyd and rumi see Morro as an older brother/cousin figure??
srry for the question spam i just really like this concept <3<3<3
never apologize for question spams I love getting them!!
alright let's start
Morro's older than the green sibs and the green sibs are teens for exact ages I haven't figured that out yet.
so Ninja are around but none know each other (except nya and kai obviously) and they lead factions as they try to not die to Garmadon, he as usual doesn't care for them and just wants them out of the picture. None of them were taught how to use their elemental powers to they're all very destructive when they do, they've all learned of them but none know how to control them that well.
All the previous elemental masters were hunted down and killed. Rip them. so none of them know their parents/ have mentors. Jay has a very hazy memory of his parents leaving him with his grandparents (which he just calls ma and pa (ed and edna)) Kai remember's their faces but not much else, nya like Jay has a very hazy version that gets blended with Kai a lot, Cole remembers his mom (he has his dad...for now) and his dad tells him about her when he can, Zane doesn't remember his Dad as per usual.
So back to the factions they don't get along with each other, all preferring different things and not trusting each other. They may be young (young adults maybe) but they lead and make all the big decisions, keep rations and other stuff like that. There are other fractions too like Chen probably has one and other random people plus other's I'm probably just forgetting about right now.
so the ninja since they run into each other a lot, have bands that tell each person whose faction they're from ya know red, black, blue, and white. Nya's are with Kai, the two lead together.
Yes they're trying to defeat Garmadon but not heavily, like the ninja have never known a time without him, so while they want him gone they don't really know if that's possible. or I"ve just not given them enough thought yet. feel free to give any suggestions you have!
Garm would never it was a mix of Anger (things not going his way) the venom and the overlord that caused him to hurt lloyd, and like the split second after it happened garm was back in his senses and wanted desperately to help his son but Lloyd had ran off already.
so the g.d hasn't been released yet, none of the serpentine have, that'll change soon though, but yeah it hasn't been released yet, her parents are dead, they died in one of garm's attacks as he tried to kill the rebels. Or just people that get on his nerves.
And then he saw a child, a little girl all on her own, so Garm (cause he's still a softy) took her in, her being young just kinda went with it she didn't realize that Garm cause her parents to die, till later, she's not sure how she feels on this, while she loves and cares for garm he also killed her parents, so she has mixed feelings. but she also just likes to blame the venom for her parents deaths.
ok ok so when they learn if they lean before they cure him, they're not gonna like it, but no Morro wont go villain, why would he? he's never been told he was going to be the legendary green ninja so he's just like "Wait you mean to tell me that he has to fight his Dad?" he's as appalled as lloyd is to it, Lloyd very much just refuses to be the green ninja. Harumi's just worried why would lloyd have to kill their dad? He'd never their dad was nice!
Yes Morro's mostly refers to Wu as Dad sensei or master why talking about how he trained him and stuff like that. but mostly he just calls him Dad. And Yes Lloyd and harumi see Morro as their cool older cousin/brother, but hate it when he tells them stuff like "don't kill them!" or "no you are not allowed to maim them!" afhlksj Morro's the only one of the three to have morals and he's trying to teach the other two.
Hope that answered all the questions feel free to ask more if you'd like to

I’ve been having nightmares a lot more recently. Here is a run through of them.
11/18
I am working in a funeral home, training to be a funeral director. The offices are plain and expensive - it looks like any other funeral home. My boss/mentor is a heavyset older gentleman who falls into the image of a classic, old school director.
He has determined that, with little to no training, I should be able to handle a body preparation on my own.
He brings me a little girl. She’s maybe 7 or 8, skinny. Her skin is a mottled, sickly green, as if she’s spent some time at the bottom of a swamp and been covered and infected by the life in it. Her eyes are shut, her face is dainty. The simple white dress she wears is sleeveless and has also turned green from algae and rot.
The first step, for whatever reason, is to move her arms to access some other point in her body. I need to move her right arm, but it is cracked at the armpit, like rubber that has gone hard and brittle from age.
I try to ask the funeral director for help, but either he is insistent I do not need it or otherwise busy.
I am left with this responsibility I cannot handle, and the little girl is so small. She has not experienced any care in so long. And I do not know how to care for her.
11/19
As a child, I was sexually assaulted by this adult couple.
Now, as an adult, I am Me but with this dream trauma.
I am trying to carpool to work with K and P, but for whatever reason we are continuously running into traffic and car troubles and side quests. Eventually, we wind back in front of my apartment, and while I am waiting on the sidewalk, I am approached by police and taken in.
Apparently, the couple that victimized me in childhood has been assaulted/beaten, and for whatever reason, they cannot say who did it. I am the prime suspect. I did not do it.
But still, I am brought in to the station and placed in a cell with multiple other people. I have very little recollection of what happened there, only that my phone had been taken from me and I desperately needed to text my dad to tell him what happened.
So I borrowed another inmate’s phone and sent him a message. He never responded.
And then, I used my one phone call to call work. I believe J answered the phone rather than my boss. I tried to explain what was happening, but J made it clear that she believed I had committed this crime and that my employment was essentially going to end, no matter the ruling, because I couldn’t be trusted.
I don’t recall much after that, but I know it was long. It was a slow, long couple days that I tried to explain what was happening to people and no one believed me. I do think I was released because they couldn’t hold me, but I can’t remember what happened after that.
It was a remarkably emotionally draining dream.
11/20
My siblings and I were at my dad’s house for a family night.
The evening went as usual - with plenty of bickering, not much fun, and a handful of casual cruelty thrown around that ‘everyone was joking about’ while getting progressively angrier at one another.
The next morning, I was in a mood.
I woke up angry, and started to make myself breakfast. My little brother, my favorite family member, came down and I started to feel better.
Then my dad came down. He sent my brother away and tried to get me to follow him upstairs because my little sister was unresponsive.
That’s the word he used. Unresponsive.
Somehow, I knew that she had drank herself to death this time. There was urgency, but not to any sort of realistic extent. Dad believed I could help her rather than calling an ambulance.
And I was ambivalent. I didn’t care. ‘Good riddance’. She finally did it, what I’ve been telling my family for years that she would do. (She is only 22. I have been saying this since she was 16 or 17.)
I don’t know if I feel guilty about that or not.
I don’t particularly like my sister, nor do I have any love for her in the way I do my little brother. I know I care for her, but… in the way you do someone you went to school with for years and were constant acquaintances with, but never became friends with because they were kind of an ass.
So yeah
Those were my dreams.

I really appreciate that on Miraculous Ladybug even though Ladybug, Chat Noir, AND Master Fu all know that adults are better Miraculous holders - they're stronger, more powerful, and don't have a limit of using their power once before detransforming - they all still only give miraculouses to other teenagers and not to adults. Can you imagine how BOSS Marinette's dad would be with like the tiger miraculous? I wanna see Alec giving the gift of jubilation after "Wishmaker" instead of Rose. Show me Jagged Stone as the rooster or something.
I mean putting aside how much most of the class SUCKS so I don't think they deserve miraculouses - I mean Sabrina sure sucks, and everyone always ganging up on Marinette about being like an attempted murderer whenever Lila says anything... blah - the people with the power to distribute the miraculouses KNOW that adults are more powerful with them, so why not give some trusted adults the miraculouses?
Although to be fair every single adult in Marinette's life has let her down tremendously over and over again - her parents also believe Marinette is a terrible person based on ONE accusation, Ms. Bustier always defends Chloe (oh gee Marinette yeah Chloe ruined something you worked hard on as a gift but she has trauma or something idk) and does nothing to support her other students.
Actually I'm pretty sure Gabriel was more supportive of Marinette than any of her teachers ever were. He approved of her design work and work ethic. He probably could've been a great mentor to her if things had gone a little differently... a LOT differently.
I know all the teen characters get the powers because of the target audience, it's just kind of silly that in-universe everyone knows it makes more sense for adults to have the powers.
