cross posting yesterday's rambling thread for posterity and because tumblr lets me edit things. anyway this is a sorta long thing and i might add things i forgot to mention in the twt thread

i tend to draw on-model canon because im a coward + just personal preferences. but the way i convert the canon designs into my artstyle is that i take the distinct features oda gives them and then combine it with personal headcanons to complete what should look like a unique human. Starting with Trafalgar Law, who is unfortunately a bland-ass conventionally pretty boy

someone commented a while ago the law hat drawing tutorial i made a while ago didn't make much sense and i realize its bc of the specific way i draw law's face: heart shaped (ba-dum-tss). That meaning, a narrow chin widening into a mild defined jaw, wide cheekbones, and up to his know-it-all brain dome.

given that, the pudgy guitar pick shape of his head i mentioned here should make a lot more sense.

i don't think this design point is unique to me, as most conventional pretty anime boy gets given jaws like this. a lot of law artists tend to veer into this head shape. just how life be sometimes. other points: flat, thick eyebrows is bc im a hairy gal and i need to feel better about myself.

Killer gets to be more interesting, because he shouldn't be considered conventionally attractive. my idea behind killer's is that those individual features is smth he would be insecure with enough to hide himself in a helmet but i draw him with all the love in the world actually. i'd like to think its how kid sees him or yknow, law, bc he's my kin assigned blorbo and maybe you ship lawkill as a guilty pleasure too i mentioned before (and ruined people's days) when i said whenever i draw killer he looks like griffith before i put on his goatee. the upper half of his face is distinctly feminine, with the lower half kinda over compensating. other than that uhh...idk. stan killer

Kidd is the bane of my existence, i feel like i can never draw his face consistently. yet at the same time he's so damn fun to draw everyone gotta try it.

my problem with kidd is that this mf does have eyelids. most kidd painters out there interpret this as him having deep set eyes (think Matt Smith or jeffrey star) . and yeh skill issue on me i should practice that. other notes, i try to make him younger than canon makes him look. he is my babygirl and he deserves to look cuddly. my band au kidd version has the honor of being allowed some chubs. he's just tries to look older and more menacing with edgy makeup. also i try to give him dimples when i can because, well i can.

Rosinante last bc i lost steam after kidd. the thing abt cora is that aside from not having eyebrows, everything is structured with the generic one piece man template. which means i gotta do everything myself doffy is there bc the way to figure out how to draw these two is to give them minor differences from each other, that being doffy gets slightly sharper features. in canon, these two are also rly wide boys (more of an oda style feat tbh) but i make them long. though bigger brained donquixote artists know that of these two brothers, doffy should be the wiry-er built. anyway that's it. in conclusion, i need to draw more girls actually i feel like im becoming misogynistic by osmosis from oda's style and now i draw girls all looking the same too.

Bear Price Headcanons

Hohoho you’re totally right about Price’s scenting obsession, he loves having you wear his clothing. Hats, jackets, shirts you name it, at this point his clothes are your clothes. He’s got such an aggressive scent to others though, it’s almost impossible to not smell him on you since he’s with you any chance he gets. A lot of people wondered how you and Santana had such a healthy relationship, but your close friends knew it was because you balanced each other out. Mr. Shue begins to write something down on the board, announcing that week's lesson. “Alright guys, I have one word for you.” Brittany raises her hand enthusiastically, and Mr. Shue calls on her when he turns around. “Is it love?” She then turns to her boyfriend and quietly says, “Totally gonna graduate now.”

Mr. Shue and some of the Glee members look at her, confused, before shaking it off and getting back on track. “Valentine’s day is coming up. Yeah, find a song that communicates all the things that love means to you. Now, partner up.” You and Santana glance at each other, smiling and already knowing that the other person would be their partner. I keep it real, and I’m hilarious.” You nod in agreement, and you see that Quinn and Brittany are nodding as well. “Actually, you're just a bitch,” Lauren states from where she is sitting next to Puck. Everyone ooos and Santana scoffs angrily. You begin to get angry as well, but you don’t show it as obviously on your face.

Rachel stands up from where she is seated, and that’s when you knew that shit was about to go down. “The truth is Santana, you can dish it out but you can’t take it. Okay, maybe you're right, maybe I am destined to play the title role in the Broadway musical version of Willow, but the only job your going to have is working on a pole.”

Everyone looks at the two of them in shock, but Quinn and Brittany watch you carefully. They see your eyes darken in anger and they watch as you clench your hands into fists. Santana doesn’t seem to notice, and she stands up to cuss Rachel out. “Okay, fine. You wanna be like that? ¿Voy a ser stripper? Bueno, todo lo que vas a ser es una vieja bruja de Broadway sin amor-” You grab her waist and pull her down before giving Rachel a sickly sweet smile.

Santana looks at you, confused and hurt that you were being so nice to the girl who said such an offensive thing about her, but then she sees Quinn and Brittany mouthing for her to take a closer look at you. It was the same smile you had on your face right before you broke Karofsky’s nose for throwing a slushie on Santana. You slowly stand up and turn around to face Rachel, who still has a smug and satisfied look on her face. FtM Soap Headcanons - John MacTavish x Male!Reader

Soap is very confident in his gender/body. He’s not yappin about it but he does talk about it proudly, he’s not ashamed of being trans and it’s not something he shimmies away from. He’s totally open about it and so he tells you on the first date but more so in a confident, take it or leave it type of deal. Soap doesn’t find it awkward if you find out before he tells you, he won't be bothered by it and just talk to you the same way. I wanna say he keeps his tiddies free but at the same time I have this funny idea that Gaz found out by accident because of his top surgery scars and was like “Soap what happened to you??” all freaking out and of course, Soap lies and tells a bizarre crazy story before slapping his back and being like “I’m fucking with you mate, I got my tiddies chopped off way back.” He probably does that to a bunch of other soldiers who are curious by the scars, the stories getting crazier every time.

If he hears any soldiers talking smack about it behind his back, or just spouting transphobic trash he’ll smack them behind the head and tell them to repeat what they said to his face. Regardless If they get too nervous to repeat what they said or not, Soap will mutter “That’s what I thought.” and say next time during training he’ll be sparring against them and then later files a report to Price about their inappropriate behavior. He just kinda makes life hell for them, making them run extra laps or do more chores around base. To be honest he’s an aggressive force to be reckoned with out in the streets if he hears that though. He appreciates it if you're willing to throw hands for him but don’t worry he’s got it.

In my head, using my mind powers Soap stopped feeling dysphoric once he started transitioning just because growing up he was allowed to feel confident in himself and his choices. He understands this is what he wants and so he doesn’t feel insecure about the process. When he does get dysphoric all he wants is you, just stay by his side and keep him company as you hold Soap close to you.

Soap loves it when you touch his top scars, gets him all giddy especially if you kiss them. Pinning him underneath you as he starts kicking for you to get off because he’s ticklish. BY THE WAY TESTOSTERONE MADE THIS MF HAIRY AS HELL!! He refuses to shave because it was one of the things that made him feel masc when he was younger, so now he just has an emotional connection to it.
