I was rereading sobh because I remembered we had some letters written by Ty. Which, like the gold it was, I had to reread so I could get a better understanding on his voice.

And of course I ended up reading more than I intended. Specifically, I read Emma catching Ty speak to Livvy's ghost (tho she didn't know it was Livvy). And now I can't help but think that everyone is going to think Ty is secretly dating someone when he's really not. Like maybe Kit having a secret girlfriend was a clue to the drama of Kit thinking Ty has a girlfriend or boyfriend.

Just imagine that within the first two or three chapters of The Last King of Faerie Kit hears Emma or Julian mention this and freaks out. And because he's bad at communicating (Dru said it, not me) during the whole book, Kit is angsting over Ty being in a relationship. (Except he isn't. It's all a big misunderstanding. Which seems to be the theme of KitTy tbh 🤔)

what if the last shadowhunter has something to do with livvy finally getting to rest in peace. what if it's something about her last act as a shadowhunter even though she hasn't been one for a long time. what if it's about the last piece falling into place to help her save the day and pass on. (this would of course imply she lasts until the last book but we can't be sure one way or the other rn anyway)

Hiro was getting a few things out of his locker when Aubrie had walked up to him, wanting to express her gratitude.

Hiro, small smile: It’s no big deal. Aubrie, I know you think you can only depend on Liam, but I hope one day you can depend on me too.

Aubrie: I--

Before Aubrie could finish her sentence, Liam walked up to her, a bright smile on his face. His smile was contagious too; as soon as Aubrie saw him, her face lit up and she smiled just as brightly. Hiro immediately noticed the change in her demeanor, and he sighed to himself.

I’m really no match, huh? She might not realize it yet, but her feelings for Liam are obvious...

Liam, loud: Uh Hiro? Are you listening? We're going to meet up with the gang before study hall.

Hiro snapped out of his depressing thoughts and turned to the guy who was his best friend. Liam was like his brother. Liam was quite literally his savior and the only one who knew his deepest, darkest secret. So why, in this moment, did he feel hatred for him?

Why did he feel so much pain when Liam and Aubrie started walking towards study hall together?

Hiro had never been unable to understand his own feelings until now. Or maybe it wasn’t that he couldn’t understand; he just didn’t want to admit the truth.

"banes apothecary" is literally so good though, it never fails to make me think of the loft and his work bench and him grinding down some herb in his mortar and the entire place smelling lush and sharply spiced with oils and slightly dusty from the tomes hes got open on every available surface and sounding of pen feathers scratching in a notebook hanging in midair as he dictates, granite scrapping granite and his voice, soft and warm and quiet, his hands, covered in rings, graceful, strong, his shoulders movement as he steps over to grab some flask, its such a vivid, perfect, everlasting picture, and i cant ever get enough of it, and your url captures it so perfectly. obsessed.

Ya know, I think my favorite thing about KitTy is the angst. The gut-wrenching longing, the fact Ty's flower card says 'I have loved you and you haven't known it' and Kit's says 'Am I forgotten?' How in SoBH Ty asked Kit when he'd forgive him, and Kit said,"I don't know." And then Ty followed that up with,"But not now?"

It was the 'but not now' that broke me. I can’t get that moment out of my head. I'm a little scared to reread QoAaD now because the moment Kit gets his heart broken is gonna make me sob 😭

Of course, I say all this before having reread LoS. So their angst is still at the forefront of my mind.

Rereading TSC in preparation for TWP

So I just had this idea, since I didn't read the series in the release order like most people and just read TMI, TDA and then TID and TLH and the other books scattered between them. And since where probably will have to wait until 2025 for TWP I just thought this will be a good idea since I wasn't the biggest fan of TID and don't remember much of TMI. So I will be updating as I go through the entire series and giving my thoughts because I'm bored and I can't wait for TWP.

P.S. This isn't the actual book cover! I'm working on a much better one with a close artist friend 😉

Cool! What's the WIP about?

Here's what I'm putting on the back of the book when I publish it hehe

Ivory has fought to be normal her entire life. After humanity shunned her and labeled her abnormality as the work of the devil, Eve's purpose became to hide behind fallacies that'd protect her from another world of hurt.

But what happens when the facade falls apart? When her fate comes to strike her in the face, yet again, forcing her to face a reality she's run from for too long?

And this time….she's doing it all alone.

Love it already?

I mean, duh, it's a pretty awesome book. There's a whole new fantasy language to learn too. But, hey, I'm tooting my own horn 🙊

The good news is I'm publishing it soon. Looking into a few online options first (Wattpad, Amazon Kindle...etc.) but trust, the second I do, I'm boasting all about it on here!

In the meantime, expect the following:

Honestly, TWP (The White Pearl) has taken much of my creative energy these past few years - both the first and the second book (Spoilers: it's three books! #why did i do this to myself lol) but I honestly love the characters and the world I created so much that I wouldn't have it any other way!
